This is your 24/7 News Update, the latest news this hour in just four minutes. The murder trial of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley is finished for its second day. Prosecutors held opening statements Friday saying Riley fought for her life and dignity. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and other local leaders are speaking out against the reported neo-Nazi group march in Columbus over the weekend. DeWine says the group members were wearing masks and carrying Nazi flags on Saturday afternoon while spewing violent racist hate speech against people of color and Jews. The governor went on to say that we will not tolerate hate in Ohio. Donald Trump's nominee for National Security Advisor says no one on his team is questioning his Cabinet picks. "This team, you don't have anybody on the team thinking they know better than him or want to undermine or obfuscate. We are all on board." Republican Congressman Michael Waltz of Florida adds there is an excitement among the picks and they're ready to get to work. New York City officials are trying to determine why the suspect behind Monday morning's deadly stabbing spree was out on the streets. Kristin Marks reports police say the homeless 51 year old has mental health issues and eight prior arrests on his record, including one for grand larceny just last month. "Unprovoked attacks that left us searching for answers on how something like this could happen." Mayor Eric Adams, two men were fatally stabbed in Chelsea and Kips Bay while a woman was left critically injured after she was stabbed near the UN. Meanwhile, Adams is thinking the cab driver who apparently witnessed the last stabbing and tried to stop the suspect. "And because of that, I believe because of the quick actions of Officer Garvey, we have saved the lives of other New York users." A new study says a nice walk and a healthy meal can add years to your life. The study led by Griffith University in Australia reveals that adopting five healthy habits can add up to 11 years to your life. I'm Brian Schucht. Sean Diddy Combs lawyers say Feds raided his jail cell and seized privileged materials. According to TMZ, Sean Combs' attorney claimed those materials included notes to his legal team about defense witnesses and strategies for his trial. It's set for May in New York. A new report is accusing male carriers of stealing your mail. Lucinda Kay reports. The United States Postal Inspection Service, aka postal cops, just released results from a recent investigation. NBC7 reports investigators closed nearly 6,000 cases of internal theft between 2019 and 2023, as a 47 percent increase over previous years. Officers say some employees are colluding with organized crime and gangs, while others are just taking advantage of lax security, a shortage of supervisors and inadequate training. I'm Lucinda Kay. You'll also probably have to brush up on your curtsy. Tiara, optional. AirBnB and Paramount Pictures are teaming up to offer two nights of entertainment and next year at the Colosseum in Rome. The event is meant to celebrate the release of Ridley Scott's Gladiator 2. It's not an overnight stay, but guests will have a tour of the Colosseum and train in Gladiator combat over the course of three hours.
