About

The world is full of rich audio content: several thousand podcast episodes are released every day; AM and FM Radio broadcasts have been running 24/7 for decades.

But audio content is at times problematic: it's difficult to search; topical threads are hard to follow -- there are no "links" between broadcasts; and it completely leaves out a large segment of people who are hearing impaired.

Accessibility starts with transcription, which can then be turned into aggregation, indexing for searchability, and archival.

Archive.fm exists to transcribe the audio content of the modern world, and make it accessible to everyone.

How it works

Archive.fm follows podcast feeds, downloads the audio content, and transcribes it.

The transcription is then indexed for searching, and can be linked or shared at any time index.
