Grief Round Table Miniseries.
Today is the first episode in a 6 part Miniseries Titled "Grief Round Table." You will meet 5 courageous women that have suffered devastating loss. They are here to share their stories with you because they want to make a difference in your life. For the next 5 weeks you will hear their stories, their struggles in the hard places, and what they did to survive. Our prayer is that you will gain strength for your journey and see that there is Hope in the midst of Grief.
This episode that you will hear today is not an interview style podcast. Each guest will share their story with you followed by a short music interlude that leads to the next guest. There are 5 total guest and each monologue last about 15 minutes.
Its important to listen to this episode first so you will be familiar with each of their stories going forward into the next 5 episodes.
Guest of the Grief Round Table:
- Meet Valerie Nichols and her daughter Nora. Nora had a normal birth but after several months of special needs care she was diagnosed with Leigh Syndrome. She went to her heavenly home at age 21 months in 2018.
- Meet Cheryl Harrington and her son Brenton. Brenton loved life to the full, after a devastaing motorcycle accident, a decision had to be made, Brenton went to his heavenly home at the age of 23 in 2018.
- Meet Olga Zapolska and her son Pasha. Pasha lived in the states for his high school education, 6000 miles away from his family. On his way home from school one afternoon the car he was riding in was hit by a drunk driver. Pasha went to his heavenly home at the age of 18 in 2015.
- Meet Tonya Esler and her son Trafton. Trafton's life was full of adventure and he loved helping start up companys be the best they could be. Trafton was eventually diagnosed with Bipolar disorder which turned the light bulb on for his family into the struggles that Trafton faced on a daily basis. Trafton went home suddenly after experiening a puplmonary embolism at the age of 30 in 2018.
- Meet Jennifer Harris and her son Calvin. Calvin was the fourth child and came unexpectedly, he was the joy of his family. He started running a fever just after Thanksgiving, nothing usual, he went to sleep and never woke up. He went to his heavenly home at age 22 months in 2018.
In the following episodes we will take a deep dive into the hard places of grief. We discuss how to manage unforgivenss of self and others, we take the lid off of anger and explore what that looks like in the life of a grieving mother. We talk about the hard days and what to do about them. The last episode we explore what life looks like through the lens of grief going forward.
