And now, this is the moment you've all been waiting for. It's time for the strength of breakfast and now. It's Friday, July 12th, 2024, and this is the State for Breakfast Podcast, Episode 418 and 419. Make sure you're subscribed to the show. It's available across every downloadable podcast and platform. Find us on Apple to Spotify, iHeart and Google Podcasts. Check out the State for Breakfast Linked Tree at the hick shows Instagram, our latest sub stack, and verified accounts on Twitter, Getter and True Social. What's up everybody and welcome to the first of two big Friday editions of the podcast today. I'm Ron and I've got Noah here with me, lots of breaking news. Joe Biden delivered remarks at the NATO summit yesterday and had a question and answer session with the media labeled "A Big Boy Presser". And we've got reactions on how the president was received by his own party. Joe Biden and his team are working overtime to quell the fears within the Democrat party and we bring you the latest on how they are responding to calls for Joe Biden to abandon the Democrat ticket. Donald Trump delivered remarks before supporters at Trump Dorale in Miami, Florida this week and we've got all the highlights and post-event analysis. As concerns over Joe Biden's candidacy continue to swell for Democrats, the media begins to make the case for Kamala Harris as the viable alternative to the current. Presumptive nominee, we've got a great slate of guests coming in here today as well. Former U.S. Secretary of the Interior, who last served under the Trump administration, David Bernhardt will be here. We'll also catch up with Indiana Congresswoman Erin Houchin. We'll circle back with Virginia Congressman Ben Klein and round out the show with Tennessee Congressman Andy Ogles. But before we get into any of our interviews, let's jump into these headlines and change the way you consume your news. Okay, this is not nom. This is bowling. They're a rule. 10-10-8, Jr. America! It's like... FOUR! BASTEST! So stand by! All right, everybody, welcome to the "Stakes for Breakfast" podcast. I'm Ron Noah's here with me. Yo. If you're a first-time listener, welcome to the show. If you're a long-time listener, we'll come back to America's fastest growing and quickly becoming favorite political podcast on the first of two big Friday editions of the show. Do they know what's going on? Nana, how about you? Oh, you know, busy as always. All stars ended for my son last weekend for Little League, and now he jumped right into football and travel baseball. So practice is all week for both. Travel game on Sunday. My daughter just wrapped up volleyball two weeks ago, and now she has her first club soccer tournament this weekend. So run-around crazy, works busy, home's busy. Politics is busy right now, too. Yeah, it's, it's, I mean, to say the least. We're going to do the best to do our big boy show today. Mm-hmm. You guys feel me? But, you know, looking at what's going on, we've got a great guest lineup, as always. Former cabinet member who served in the Trump administration. He was the Secretary of the Interior. David Bernhard is back today to give us some commentary on not just the state of the race, the fallout from the debate and previewing the RNC, but after some of the reports have come out lately of what's going on behind closed doors and some of these high-level meetings that are now being regularly attended by the first lady, Dr. Jill Biden and convicted felon, Hunter. How outside of the norm that is, and we'll actually get a cabinet member's take on that today. In addition, we've got a trio of America First Congress people coming in here, Indiana Representative Aaron Houchin will be here, and we'll be joined by Virginia Congressman Ben Klein, and we'll round out the show, catching up with Tennessee Representative Andy Ogle, so absolutely stacked lineup. Lineups looking pretty stacked for next week, too. We're going to have full comprehensive coverage of the RNC. No, I don't know if I told you we were invited, had the decline. Oh, we're invited to the RNC? Yeah, we got invited to a couple things lately, the little VP party that was going on down in Florida. We actually would have been able to sub in for the person who wanted us to go with them because they want to stay away from all the drama. And then, yeah, the RNC, we could have set up shop there, but there'll be RNCs in the future, and there'll be probably a lot more work to do once Donald Trump is out of politics, so we've got to keep that in mind as well. I'm thinking about some other stuff that's going on. The Democrats are folding up the tents for the weekend, both figuratively and literally. Everyone's getting out of DC right now because with the RNC convention next week, there's not going to be much going on. So I guess we're going to be resting on our laurels in regards to what's going on with Joe Biden, but giving you guys exactly what is going on, leading up in two and through today. Donald Trump did a rally down at his club in Daral in Miami, Florida this week. We've got that in the second edition of the show. And then I guess we'll talk about making the case for Kamala as the only viable. Yeah, I talked to some people this week that are pretty close to the president. You know, people that are working on the campaign, you know, that are going to be out in Milwaukee next week and kind of looking at how the V-brace is shaping up. We kind of gave our listenership a little bit of insight into what that's looking like. But what maybe we're preparing for if Joe Biden is not at the top of the ticket moving forward? And all indications are going to say, and we've said it, looks like we might be reporting on it accurately, not wanting to burn one of these, you know, viable Democrat candidates, the governors, the Whitmers, the Pritzkers, the Newsoms, et cetera, in this election cycle and losing to Donald Trump. So I'm here in the ticket would look more like Kamala Harris and Mayor Pete. That's kind of what I said. Oh, wow. Can you imagine 400 years from now flipping through the history books? And seeing when America jumped the shark. Yeah, the complete and unified DEI ticket it would be. Yeah, apparently Mayor Pete's drawn the short straw and after dabbling his, I don't know, man-milker machine into politics isn't really having as good a time as he thought he was going to. So he would be the sacrificial lamb to go with Kamala Harris. And that's just what we're hearing. You know, these are changing situations, developing situations. I mean, the latest on the V brace, you know, this is what I heard the week looked like. You know, just a few short days ago, JD Vance was the man. It was all finalized. This is what people who were pushing for it were hearing. And then next thing you know, he's not the man. So then you look at Doug Bergum, you look at Marco Rubio, you look at Ben Carson, you look at Tim Scott. The list keeps getting shorter and shorter as the days go by. And then we start hearing that it's not going to be Doug Bergum. And that Doug Bergum wants to, you know, look into maybe working on the transition team as he'll weigh a decision on whether or not to continue in politics and make another run for the White House in 2028 or end on a high note, because now as you know, those who lead the transition team and how the first 100 days are viewed historically, if you do a good job, you can earn a lot of political capital. So we have to take that into consideration too. That's again, just what we're hearing. So then you think it's a two man, maybe three man race. You've got Carson, you've got Rubio, you've got Tim Scott. Marco Rubio spoke with Donald Trump down in Miami this weekend at the Doral event. So he's still at the forefront. And I think it's ever changing, maybe by the minute. And it's going to take that one person who finds the merch that's going to be the leaker. Sealed away in boxes probably in Wisconsin somewhere if the announcement's going to be made then. Or I'm also hearing. And again, take it for what it is. Maybe Donald Trump doesn't have to announce who his VP is. At the Republican convention because they want to be sure before they make a decision, the Democrats know who's going to be running at the top of their ticket as well. So a lot of moving parts behind the scenes. Again, the policy institutes that are pushing some of these candidates are absolutely knives out. And it's all cutthroat. Former administration official versus former administration official who's got more clout, who's got more push, who's potentially working in a higher ranking spot in the next administration, et cetera. So I think Donald Trump just kind of stays above it all. I think he's going to kind of listen to everybody and digest it. He's going to read the charts, check out the polls, look at the numbers. Think about his ticket, what he wants his agenda to look like, and what he wants his legacy to be. And then I honestly think he's going to make his own decision. You know, the whole conglomerate which makes up the apparatus of the gang over at War Room has been going after, you know, people again close to the Trump team. Chris Lasovita and Susie Wiles, who listen, when you just look at how the race has been ran, I don't really care about people that haven't done a great job in the past that were rehired. I don't really care about, you know, organizational things that might not ideological line up with the most hard right people out there. What I care about is how much money have you raised? How strong we look in the polls? How close we've stuck to agenda 47. And when you start looking at the benchmarks and how they've been notched, I don't have very many complaints. You know, I do also hear that there's a push to move towards a moderate center in some policies, especially regarding immigration, you know, when Donald Trump wins the White House and gets things rolling. You know, a pushback on legitimately trying to deport 20 million people. And instead, starting off with the bad people and pointing out why they're being removed and while they're bad. But I don't really think that's the way to go. Now, I don't think President Trump, who's, you know, promoted this mass deportation agenda as a huge policy point, is going to look to either. So, listen, we've got our ears to the ground. We've got eyes everywhere. The invites are out there. We just don't show up. So, but everybody keeps coming back. And like I said, guest list is stacked today, show stack today. And we're going to jump in, I guess, in a big boy fashion with Joe Biden leading his NATO press conference last night. Noah, did you catch any of the highlights? Yes. I'm pretty sure I caught the only parts that mattered. Oh boy. You know, I had to sit through the whole thing. And then I did see that somebody posted Joe Biden NATO speech and press conference full. And I went ahead and subjected myself again to it late last night. I regretted it instantly. But, okay, so it wasn't disastrous. And I think a lot of people are making, you know, after the debate, Joe Biden out to be like, just a complete mindless, like, can't even put on his own shoes in the morning person. Granted, this guy needs a lot of help to get around. His memory is 100% of the not where it used to be. He references conversations he had with dead people decades ago as ones that he had recently. He's also pointed out in the audience, people who aren't there because, again, they're dead. You know, mixes up names and dates, obviously, embellishes himself by making up all these jobs. He's been everything from an airline pilot to a train conductor and, you know, marched in the civil rights movement and is the father of a gold star. You know, like him and his wife are gold star parents because of what happened to Bo Biden. So how much of that is Joe Biden's long documented history of stretching his truth and lying? And how he kind of uses that as the reality he lives in now. But I think after seeing him at the NATO summit and me really, I was trying unbiasedly to watch. I said, I'm just going to watch to listen. He didn't, he wasn't a complete fucking disaster. He just had his usual Joe Biden gaffes. I don't know. What do you think? I mean, you know, when it comes to like forming sentence, I mean, he did take questions. He did give relevant answers, although the people he was referencing dates and instances sometimes weren't accurate. But, you know, I think after the debate, it's opened up the door for people that weren't fans of his presidency or don't like the closed door nature of it. Are now taking revenge against them and that's news outlets and politicians. I mean, there's major politicians right now. I believe the numbers up to 18 who has said he needs to get out. But that's tiny in contrast. Like, just look at the House of Representatives. There's 213 Democrats in their minority of the House. So if seven or eight of them were saying get out, you know, this is the same thing the Dems always do. Oh, the Republican side with the five people who are ultra MAGA to push their policy. Well, you know, I don't think the Dems are going to necessarily get behind the six or seven people that are pushing for Joe Biden to get out right now. And again, when you look at legally, when you look at ballot wise, when you look at money, when you look at delegates, every day that we come on the show and still talk about Joe Biden, me and the candidate, it's that much harder behind the scenes for him to get out of the ticket and replace it with anyone other than Kamala Harris. So what do you think? No, watching. I mean, you saw him last night. You saw him at the debate. I mean, it's not like he's not literally weakened at Bernie's yet. He's just like, should not be the president of the United States. I think we could all agree on that. Yeah, for sure. I'm just wondering the six or seven Democrats that are saying that he should get out. It's like, are they being ostracized by their own party now? You know, it's one of the things where, and I've got some great clips of leadership, you know, comments from Chuck Schumer I'm going to read, but also clips from Nancy Pelosi and Hakeem Jeffries, the House Minority Leader in title only. You know, where they're saying, like, Joe Biden's going to make the best decision. I know Joe Biden for a long time. He's going to make the right decision, but it's not like it's not a shining endorsement. It's a, I mean, listen, a year and a half ago, it was open Biden. Yeah. Well, I just feel like we need to start doing the same bullshit that they always do. It's like, there's a bipartisan request for Joe Biden to not be the next presidential nominee. Right. It's the same thing that we always do to us. It's like our rhinos and their, whatever the equivalent would be. Yeah, dinos. They're dinos. And dinos. Yeah. So, no, and it's a good point. And you know, the polling's all messed up now. You have polls that come out that shows, like, Donald Trump is pulling ahead by even further. Donald Trump beats every other candidate that the Democrats could possibly offer. But then you have, like, the ones that are closely aligned to the establishment, which are saying, now Kamal Harris is the only candidate that could beat Donald Trump, a poll came out this morning. Again, from a heavily biased, heavily dem-favored pollster, which has her beating Donald Trump by two points, that would never happen in any, it's like that part in end game. How many futures did you see, you know, 14 million and some out of their number? How many did Kamal Harris win? One. I mean, it's literally that. It would never happen. And, you know, I see people saying that, you know, Joe Biden is now the only candidate who could beat Donald Trump, but then ABC News is saying people directly connected to the White House are saying Joe Biden has zero percent chance of beating the former president and Republican nominee. So, it's like, it's a complete chit show. Everything's a chit show. And it has nothing to do with Republicans for once. It has nothing to do with anything that's weaponized against Donald Trump for once. And it actually feels pretty good. You know, you still have the mentality of 10 points behind and you got to go to work and work hard every day to push the agenda and push the narrative and remain relevant and control the news cycle. But at the same time, to watch what's going on in the polls, with the money, the delegates, and then the party, the Democrats, I mean, Joe Biden, that debate was the iceberg that might sink the Titanic. And when I say Titanic, it's figuratively speaking for the Democrats in this upcoming election. So, I think one of the best polls I read was showing that Joe Biden is going to hurt so many more people down ticket that it's going to be able to get the House majority firmly into Republicans' hands. Now, remember, there's only a very small amount of seats that are going to be flipping in the next several election cycles. Do the census, do the gerrymandering, redistricting, et cetera. So, there's only, like, 18 to 20 House seats that can go back and forth in the new direction. And that's the way the majority flows. But what Joe Biden potentially does to these Democrats is have no shows. And when there's no shows, Republicans always lose these tight races in, you know, battlegrounds seats and bellwether seats by 1.1.2 points, 2.1 points. Well, if you have a lot of people not showing up because Joe Biden remains on the ticket, that's going to help Republicans and even maybe throw a Senate seat or two where Republicans are favored to have, I would say they're going to wind up with 52, 53 seats. But maybe they could get 54 if, because of Joe Biden remaining on the ticket, or if Kamala Harris is on the ticket, that might cause more people to stay home, especially if we're running a Pete Buttigieg. So, we'll have to just see where it is. But we're going to jump into the big boy press conference now. I've got one clip from the speech to kind of lead in with. I think we all know which one it was. And it kind of set the tone for where Joe Biden was headed linguistically for the evening. Let's check it out. And now I want to hand it over to the President of Ukraine who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin. I'm so focused on being Putin. We got to worry about it. Anyway, Mr. President. I'm better. You are hell, well better. You know, and you want to know what, honestly? Well, he couldn't say he's cheaper. That's for damn sure. Listen, we know, but he made it through the speech off the teleprompter. But without too many fuckups, he knew not to read off it. He lost his place like once or twice, but went back. And again, I'm not covering for the guy. But for someone that says, you know, I don't want to be those people that just say he's a lifeless blob. I just want to say that mentally he's not there anymore and should be nowhere near the office of the President of the United States or anywhere in politics. Any kind of decision making that affects other people, Joe Biden should not be there. But up until that point, he made it through the speech portion and was flanked by all the other NATO nations and countries that aren't NATO, like South Korea and Ukraine, those that he invited. And the room would clear, we'd take a breath and then we get into the Q&A. Now, is this some of the parts that you saw know where he would be going back and forth with the press? I mean, obviously he had his card and it was supposed to be unscripted. They were supposed to be able to ask whatever they want. And who knows if they actually did. But he did have a group of people to pick from when it came to, you know, fielding the questions. I still just maintain that there's nothing that's unscripted anymore. That's a good point. Except for Donald Trump off the teleprompter. Speaking of which, he was loving it almost in real time, post on True Social. Crooked Joe Biden begins his quote, big boy press conference with, quoting again, "I would have picked the vice president Trump to be vice president, though I think she was not qualified to be president." End quote. Great job, Joe. You heard that one, right? We'll get to that one in a little bit. Joe Biden called Kamala Harris, Donald Trump, his vice president. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. It was, uh, he got a little flustered because regardless of what the questions should have been, a lot of them were about what's happened over the course of the last three years. And most of those questions centering on his fitness, specifically in the mental category. Let's check it out. I think I'm the most qualified person to run for president. I beat him once, and I will beat him again. Secondly, the idea I served in the Senate a long time. The idea that senators and congressmen running for office worry about the ticket is not unusual. And I might add, there were at least five presidents running or incumbent presidents who had lower numbers than I have now later in the campaign. So it was a long way to go in this campaign. And so I, uh, I'm just going to keep moving. Well, we sure would hope so. At least he didn't say at least I'm just going to keep breathing. I would have liked to, uh, heard him continue. They told me it's all I got to do is keep breathing. Yeah. I would have liked to see him continue in that train of thought right there and give us the outcomes of those five other presidents who were pulling worse than him. Later than the cycle that we're at now. I'm pretty sure they probably all lost. Outside of, uh, what is it? Truman and Dewey. I think probably the other four of them probably lost. Which really doesn't bode well for Joe Biden at this point. You know, and he wanted to reiterate. And again, this is his team. The inner most circle of his team. This is his family. His daughter Valerie. Dr. Jill Hunter. The cabinet level positions there who looked mortified as you rattled off. Wrong name and wrong reference after wrong name and wrong reference. It was gotten good at like hiding their reactions. So like there was. It wasn't as bad as it usually is. No, Jake Sullivan wiped his face. Tony Blinken didn't even flinch and Lloyd Austin took the longest blink. It was like a three. As soon as he said, my vice president Donald Trump, he just blinked. And I was counted as like two, three. Before I get to four, he just slowly opened his eyelids. And I can only fuck in his head. But what can you say? It's not like this is anything different than the behavior he's displayed over the course of the last three plus years. Four years if you want to include his, well, not really campaign, but basement, whatever it was. You know, back in 2019, but people just shook it off. Oh, yeah, Joe Biden said the wrong names because he got stutter. Joe Biden said the wrong name. Oh, he said he was an Amtrak conductor and he trained a million miles across the country. Well, that's because he gets really high anxiety when he's around crowds. Yeah, we know Joe Biden always says that his son died in Iraq. That's because, you know, it's a really sad moment for him and his family. Like the bullshit is over. Now they're just like, fuck up, fuck up, fuck up, fuck up. And they just continue to promote it in the news cycle over and over again. But again, they're doubling down closest to him. And obviously Joe Biden has told him like the only person that could see the power of the presidency is you. He reiterated that fact last night. Let's hear it. Thank you, Mr. President. Many of your colleagues, Democrats in the Hill, are watching tonight as they assess what they want to say about your candidacy. I'm wondering how you're thinking of this right now. It seems like your answer is clear that they're watching how things go tonight, tomorrow in Michigan next week in Texas and Nevada. Are you thinking that way about whether how the next week or two goes would inform you? Am I using that way? Are you thinking that way about how the next two weeks go? Will that affect your decision? Or are you fully determined on running in November as the party's nominee? I'm determined on running. But I think it's important that I lay fears by seeing, let them see me out there. Let me see for the longest time it was. Say watch. Say watch me. Biden's not prepared to sit with us unscripted. Biden's not prepared in any way. And so what I'm doing is what I've been doing. I think we've done over 20 major events from Wisconsin to North Carolina to anyway. I have to demonstrate that I'm going out in the areas where we think we can win, where we can persuade people to move our way, or people already there. Look, there he is. We have the most extensive campaign organization that anybody's had in a long, long time. That's not a lie. We have well over a thousand volunteers knocking on doors, making phone calls, making tens of thousands of phone calls. We have headquarters. I forget exactly how many I want to cite a number and then find out I'm off. But we have scores of headquarters and all the toss-up states were organized, were moving, and that's awful hard to replace in the near term. That's a veiled threat right there. Let's go back and break that down. So there were two anyways, where he just either didn't want to continue that thought or lost his place, and it was anyways. So there was two there, 11 total in like the 21 minute question and answer session he had with the press. Okay, and then he said he had a thousand volunteers. It's 100,000 plus volunteers, and that's sprinkled across the country everywhere. And another thing he mentioned was the campaign level headquarters in battleground states. There are headquarters, some multiple headquarters in every battleground state. From Pennsylvania to Wisconsin, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and everywhere in between. And that's some of the things that the Republicans do not have yet. They're building up their ground game, they're looking to come out of the RNC, having vetted and approved people that are going to be like campaign leads in some of these battleground states. But again, it doesn't matter what Joe Biden has right now. His candidacy itself has propelled Donald Trump to a big lead in some of these battleground states. And I think his team in the RNC is looking where could we spend money more wisely than just blanketing across the state, some of which we might win, like North Carolina should be a win. Georgia hopefully will go back. I mean, a lot of polling is saying places like, you know, every time you read a poll from Arizona, like Donald Trump said 72%. Are you going to dump as much money in there as you've done in the last two cycles or three? Do you want to include the midterms? Because you don't need to. So it's really interesting to see, but then that last party said it really would be a shame. It would be hard to try and just, you know, start over from scratch. Like he wouldn't just turn the keys over to his campaign apparatus on a national level, over to whoever would be the next person in line. So I thought that was kind of interesting how he worked that in there. And I'm actually shocked at the end of like an over a minute talking point, he was able to remember it, to be honest with you. So, you know, when they started talking about the cognitive stuff, the mental decline, and, you know, all the rumors that have come out recently, he wanted to talk about the fact that he gets to see doctors almost every day. He has access to them. And he paid homage to his team. You know, one of these doctors in question that I believe the guy who the House Republicans have subpoenaed, he put out a brief letter the other day about these questions that have arisen about Joe Biden and his mental health. But let's hear him first kind of talk about, you know, neurological exams and being the president is a cognitive test, and then I'll read the letter for you guys so we can check it out. We've had some discussions over the past few days with your press secretary about the question of health exams. And you said you take the cognitive test every day in this job. Are you open to taking another physical or test before the election? Governor Whitmer of Michigan, for instance, it wouldn't hurt to take a test. Well, look, two things. One, I've taken three significant and intense neurological exams by a neuro -- a neuroiologist. In each case, it's recent in February. And they say, "I'm in good shape." Okay? Although I do have a little problem with my left foot because it's not as sensitive because I broke my foot and didn't wear the boot. But I'm good. I'm tested every single day by my neurological capacity, the decisions I make every day. You talk to my staff, all of you talk to my staff. Sometimes my staff talks a lot. But the fact of the matter is, I don't think you have them telling you that all of the major ideas we've undertaken haven't been in part initiated by me. I remember with the staff, I said, "I'm going to go to South Korea. We're going to get the chip. What are you doing? I'm going to get Japan and Korea back together again after essentially having hostilities toward one another since the end of World War II. I'm going to move and see that we can expand it." The only thing age does is help you with it. It creates a little bit of wisdom, if you pay attention. The point of making it is, I think it's important that if the neurologist tells me he thinks I need another exam, and by the way, I've laid every bit of the record out. I hadn't had anything to think. You know, that's Trump for his. I laid it all out. Every single day, I'm surrounded by good docs. If they think there's a problem, I promise you. Or even if they don't think it's a problem, they think I should have a neurological exam again, I'll do it. But no one's suggesting that to me now. And I'll ask you another question. No matter what I did, no one's going to be satisfied. Did you have seven docs? Did you have two? What did you have? Did you do this? How many times have you? I am not opposed. If my doctors tell me I should have another neurological exam, I'll do it. You believe him? Well, yes, because it's going to be his doctors. Yeah. Not the ones that have had financial gains by working alongside him and his family for such a long time. Yep. I got the letter right here. I'm going to read it right now. This is from the desk of Crenshine Pierre, and it's from Kevin O'Connor, physician of the president. He said, "I wanted to share a background on Dr. Kevin Kennard and his visits to the White House. To protect patient privacy for thousands of patients, the White House Medical Unit and physicians who treat them normally, we do not disclose the names of specialists we work with. However, in the interest of accuracy, I have obtained permission from the president and Dr. Kennard to confirm the details I am sharing. Dr. Kennard has been the neurological consultant to the White House Medical Unit since 2012. He was chosen for his breadth of experience and expertise across the specialty of neurology, prouder to his movement. Here we go, blah, blah, blah. As I have written in each of the president's medical reports as part of the president's annual physical, he sees a team of specialists, including for optometry, dentistry, orthopedics, for his ankle, orthopedics, for his spine, physical therapy, neurology, sleep medicine, cardiology, radiology, dermatology. And Dr. Kennard was the neurological specialist who examined the president for each of his annual physicals. His findings have been made to the public, and I have released the results of the president's annual physical online. President Biden has not seen a neurologist outside of his annual physical. The results of this year exams were detailed in February via a letter which came out on the 28th. It was extremely detailed. The medical exam, again, reassuring that there were no findings that would be consistent with any credible or other central neurological disorder, such as a stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, or any of the aforementioned. No motor weakness was detected. He exhibited no tremor at rest or during activity. He demonstrates excellent fine motor dexterity, not when he's climbing stairs or riding bicycles. But a subtle difference in heat-cold sensation could be elicited as it was last year. The heat-cold sensation deficient was detected a couple of inches higher on his ankle and calf later this year, which is not unexpected. I think that's really to the foot injury that he had in the treat correctly. Seeing patients at the White House as something that Dr. Kennard has been doing for a dozen years, he was chosen for the responsibility not because he is a movement disorder specialist, but because he is a highly trained and highly regarded neurologist at Walter Reed and across the military health system with a very wide variety of expertise, which makes him flexible to see a variety of patients and problems. Respectfully committed Kevin O'Connor position to the president. So, you know, a little bit of resume, a little bit of why he was there. I think the Biden team kind of used all of the other specialists that he sees, two different orthopaedas, a dentist, an optometrist, et cetera, kind of lumped them all together to say, you know, if we're going to do a robust and complete physical, of course, a neurological exam is going to be part of that. But I'm not buying it. I don't think America is buying it either. No, what do you think? No, nobody's believing any of this nonsense. Yeah. We're just waiting for the season finale. It's going to be an interesting one. Moving on to the questions and answers that he would continue to have with the press. You know, they talked about one of the things that we played a clip of from a CNN panel the other day, how when Joe Biden introduced himself back onto the campaign trail as a candidate for president, it was doing so as a bridge candidate who was going to bring decency and morality and country together, all the things that he hasn't done. And, you know, in addition to that, maybe he was going to be a one-term president who was going to bring along with him a newer, younger generation of radical liberals to take his space. When he was asked about that and why his stance had changed now, seemingly obsessed with running for re-election, we're going to check out the answer he gave right now. The bridge candidate see in 2020, you refer to yourself as being a bridge candidate for a younger, fresher generation of democratic leaders, and I wanted to know what changed. What changed was the gravity of the situation I inherited in terms of the economy, our foreign policy, and domestic division. And, I think, I won't put words in anybody's mouth. Most presidential historians give me credit for having accomplished more than most any president since Johnson and maybe before that, to get major piece of legislation passed. And what I realized was my long time in the Senate had equipped me to have the wisdom of how to deal with the Congress to get things done. We got more major legislation passed that no one thought would happen. And I want to finish it, to get that finished. If tomorrow, if we had a circumstance where there was a line up and I didn't inherit what I did, we just moved things along. Anyway, there it is. I think historians are going to look back on Joe Biden as the president who got more done than almost anybody ever. I sure as hell don't. Nope. But, again, that's depending on who wins because we all know who writes the history books. It's definitely not the losers. Well, maybe more done to destroy the fabric of the country. Yeah, that's a good point. And we won't go too late because we know 8 PM is bedtime. Did you hear him push back on that one? What do you say about that? We're going to listen to it in a sec. But before we do, guys, wherever you're listening to the show today, welcome. Hope you're enjoying it. We're going to be jumping in with former secretary of the interior, David Bernhardt in just a few minutes. But like we were just touching on. So Joe Biden's bedtime was a question that was asked by the press. And he said that that narrative has been misconstrued in the media. He wasn't talking about those with the hours of operations because it was Betty by time. It's that he didn't want to start events as late. And maybe by starting them earlier, he could get to bed earlier and be fresher the next day. The rationale he used didn't really make too much sense. But then again, most of the stuff Joe Biden says usually doesn't. Let's check it out. Can you say you'll be up for that next year in two years and four years given the limits you've acknowledged that you have today? The limits I've acknowledged they have. Oh, there's been reporting that you've acknowledged that you need to go to bed earlier and during anything around eight. That's not true. Look, what I said was like who the fuck said that instead of my every day starting at seven and going to bed at midnight. It'd be smarter for me to pace myself a little more. And I said, for example, the eight, seven, six stuff instead of starting to fundraise or at nine o'clock. Start at eight o'clock. People get to go home by ten o'clock. That's what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about. And if you look at my schedule since I've since I made that stupid mistake in the campaign in the debate. I mean, my schedule has been full bore. Okay, there's a part of me that doesn't think Joe Biden actually knows that everyone's been making fun of him about the bedtime thing for weeks now. That he's been so sheltered and cocooned that he might not actually know that everyone fucking rips him for it. What do you think? No, he's been completely segregated from everybody. We talked about this a few shows ago. I'd be willing to bet that even the television feed that goes into his room at night is specifically curated and even edited. He's probably not even getting tonight's broadcast. He's getting the day before. Yeah. Yeah. Wild. You know, of course he would segue to a question where they talked about his schedule was like a follow up to this one. But instead of going back and forth about, you know, what time is actually his bedtime, he would just go to trash in Donald Trump and talking in a manner of like, listen, we all know what Donald Trump's been doing. He's been out on the campaign trail. He's been enjoying the wave out of the debate. He's preparing for the RNC. And again, we'll talk about this basically throughout the show because we're going to be elbows deep in it on Monday when everything gets kicked off. Donald Trump had one of the most spectacular WWE like entrances to accept a nomination ever in 2016. It's going to be better. And I can only hope that the McMahon's are involved. I know Donald Trump is working very closely with Linda McMahon in some context. I know that he's seen Vince McMahon on the campaign trail this primary season as well. So I mean, the pyrotechnics, the video, the songage, everything was perfect. And when you talk about people that do that for a living, I mean, what makes or breaks WWE, it's the entrances, or at least it was during the attitude era. Hey, you hear they're moving to Netflix? Really? Yeah, they signed a 10 year contract with Netflix and said they will be abandoning all of the bumpers that they've had to put on over the last essentially decade by being, you know, on terrestrial television. Oh, yeah, so we might be going back to the attitude era. I mean, I don't know if they're going to be having white wrestlers call each other the N word and have like, what was that guy's name? The guy that had all the whole train with him and stuff like that. But yeah, I could see them getting back to a little bit at least better entertainment than they've shown. I mean, I tried to watch it a couple of times with my son over the years and it's just putrid. It's gotten so gay. I don't know how else to put it like, not gay gay, but there is that too, but guy gay. It's just so gay. So, but again, Joe Biden here, being asked questions about his schedule, using as a deflection tactic, making up stuff about Donald Trump, let's hear it. Residency is the most straining job in the world, and it's 24/7. How can you say you'll be up for that next year in two years in four years, given the limits you've acknowledged that you have today? The limits I've acknowledged that have. Oh, there's been reporting that you've acknowledged that you need to go to bed earlier and your evening around eight. That's not true. Look, what I said was, instead of my everyday starting at seven and going to bed at midnight, it'd be smarter for me to pace myself a little more. And I said, for example, the eight, seven, six stuff, instead of starting a fundraiser at nine o'clock, starting at eight o'clock, people get to go home by ten o'clock. That's what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about. And if you look at my schedule since I've since I made that stupid mistake in the campaign, in the debate, I mean, my schedule has been full bore. I've done, where's Trump in? Right around his golf cart, filling out his scorecard before he hits the ball. I mean, look, he's done virtually nothing. What do you think? Virtually nothing? 45,000 people showed up at Trump at all on a Tuesday night this week to enjoy Donald Trump who spoke for nearly 80 minutes in some of the grossest humidity in our country. 45,000 people. There probably wasn't that many people interested or attending the NATO summit, which was like, what, 18 countries now? It's a joke. And so is Joe Biden. Because he brought up Donald Trump, one of the reporters who, I guess, was dialed into his social media, probably instead of asking him the question he was supposed to ask him if he knew what Donald Trump was doing right now. And I mean, by right now, in that moment, it was shit posting him online. I led in with reading the post off of True Social. Let's check this out. When are you misspoke, your opening answer is referred to Vice President Harris as Vice President Trump? Right now, Donald Trump is using that to mock your age and your memory. How do you combat that criticism from tonight? Listen to him. This concludes tonight's conference. Thank you, everybody. Thanks, everyone. You almost got in there fast enough. Good for KJP. Only it was a second sooner. Did he say watch him? No, he said, listen to him. Listen to him. Listen to him. Listen to what he says. Oh, God, obviously. Yeah, bad grandpa. So that was it. Again, definitely not anywhere near the benchmarks that you need to be at regarding all things presidential. But it wasn't like, you know, he was lost in the bright lights and couldn't handle it. He flashed back a little bit. He made knocks at things like how the money in the delegates are his, that his staffers go around probably leaking to the press too much. Push back on the narrative about his bedtime. And then, you know, had some excuses for his mental acuity, which was followed up by, again, an official press release from KJP on behalf of Joe Biden's personal physician. The media kind of went in both directions with this. Some said this might have been enough of a Band-Aid. Maybe one to revisit and have to do the hard pull off later. And some others were like, this is not going to quell anybody's fears. This is what Joe Biden is. I don't know what it means for anything right now. But I do know the real powers that be, the Obama team has been, how do you say, really making some moves behind the scene? And it's starting to become very apparent that, you know, they are unsatisfied with the current state of the Democrat ticket and Joe Biden's job as president. And, you know, moving forward, we're going to have to see how much that pressure weighs in on the final decision that's going to dictate who will be the candidate moving forward. So we're going to leave it with that as we're getting ready to jump in with former secretary of the interior, David Bernhardt right now. But before we do that, I first check in with one of our partners. This episode of the podcast is brought to you by Battleborn Coffee Roasters. Alright, joining us first on the show today, this big Friday edition of the state records podcast. He was the 53rd secretary of the interior. He last served during the Trump administration. It's one of our great friends welcoming back Secretary David Bernhardt. Welcome to the show. Thanks for having me. Well, it's been a while since we've been able to catch up, but times have been busy and we've got a lot to talk about. You know, what's kind of encompassed the news cycle over the course of the last two weeks, Mr. Secretary, is the fallout from the presidential debate. And I think America got a big wake up call on what's really going on in Washington, D.C. about five, six minutes into the debate. I think it surprised everybody a little bit more. Even President Trump seemed a little astonished on how bad things really are. And then the fallout from the debate. I mean, it's been a long time since we've seen the Democrats, this disconnected before. Someone who's worked in Washington, D.C. for as long as you have to be, you know, at least enjoying a little bit of the winning that we've done lately. But I kind of want to get your commentary. Starting with the debate and how you saw that kind of unfold and then leading through the last, like, ten days where, you know, not even at the top of the ticket, Democrat leadership can even get on the same page, it seems like. Well, you know, the debate made clear in its first few minutes that there really was only one person on that stage that was actually capable of serving as the President of the United States right then, let alone four years from that moment. And, you know, to be frank, that was incredibly troubling for, I think, the entire country. You know, my wife and I are watching the debate together. And the first thing I said to her is like, you can't even understand the President, like if you were trying to, President Biden. And it just demonstrated, you know, how significantly different the two candidates are. And then, of course, I personally believe that President Trump is one of the greatest debaters of all time. And I thought he had an incredible debate in laying out his vision for America and doing it in a way that people should welcome it, quite frankly. I thought he did an incredible job. I thought it was one of his best debates. And as I watched it, I sat there and thought, you know, his comeback story is probably the greatest comeback story politically of all time, and it's not yet finished. I mean, that's the thing that's amazing about that story. Now, turning to the last, you know, the consequences of the American people seeing the reality of the situation is, you know, it immediately dovetails into the question of the American people saying, "Hey, what's been going on here for the last three and a half years?" And as a consequence of that, it's almost impossible for the mainstream media and the Democratic apparatus of the Democratic Party to basically say, "Oh, we just realized this." And so as a consequence of that, they have begun to turn on him, and it is absolutely fascinating to watch these people roll out story after story of, "I saw this months ago, I saw this years ago, all at the same time, never mentioning it." And so I think the biggest takeaway for everyone in your audience, and certainly everyone that I talk about, is don't think for a minute this is a fundamental game changer, because the people that were willing to hide this repetitively from the American people until it was exposed to everyone, and it could not be hidden anymore, it will also maintain their grip on political power. Whether Biden is the candidate or somebody else, they're going to do everything they can to stop the American First Agenda and President Trump moving forward with his wonderful agenda for going forward, Agenda 47. And so at the end of the day, we cannot for a minute take this as a moment of winning, we can take this as a moment of like, they're in chaos, and boy, it's inexplicable, and it's caused by the reality that they hid this from the American people, they hid it. And so we have to recognize that they're going to push forward in some capacity to stop the president, and we have to do everything we can to make sure he wins this campaign. You know, those are some really great points you make, we're going to touch on a few of those. You know, you talk about the complicity of the media, Democrats in the House and Senate, you know, people all over the country who have supported Joe Biden and the Big Lie, which is his current presidency, and I have a question for you. How big of a scheme did this have to be for everyone to be on the same page? I mean, you know, the White House often, you know, cap their days as far as schedule goes sometimes nine ten o'clock in the morning several days in a row if they were going to do anything besides like the national security briefings. You've had every single time that the Republicans are conservative media wanted to raise concerns about Joe Biden's behavior, the way he can, and cannot do things like going up the stairs or, you know, being helped down off the stage in the debate, and it would be called cheap fakes, and it would be called fake news and Republican conspiracy theories, and they don't want to do any work for the American people because they want to make up stories about Joe Biden. So, I think that we have so many people on the Democrat side coming out and saying, and in the media, you know, we've known this and it's essentially been a huge political cover up. This isn't just like a little scandal. This is something that's going to be written in the history books is like this, this could be like an entire fake presidency where Joe Biden is literally and figuratively an empty suit who's being directed by the powers that be behind the scenes. So, your last sentence is so important and incredible. Think about this a minute. What we saw in that debate is an individual who is literally not capable of maintaining a presence in the debate itself. And you can say it's a bad night, but the truth of the matter is we know that that is a very debilitating reality for that president, and there are thousands of decisions that had to cross his desk. And the question that you're raising is rarely really relevant, who made those decisions, how were those decisions made, how were they conveyed, and how involved was he in those decisions for the last three and a half years. And more importantly, what if we face a crisis tomorrow? Who is the person that's going to make the decision? Who did we vote for? Who's capable of handling that decision? And, you know, it's amazing to me that main, you know, big media types now are out saying, "Oh, I had a cabinet secretary tell me that they didn't think he was ready to go four more years a year ago or two years ago." And they never brought that to the public's attention. Now, is that a conspiracy or is that maybe that they felt social pressure? You know, it's basically if you were in high school peer pressure of not wanting to be the person to say the truth. And I don't know what led to it, but what I do know is that there is a degree of complicity here that goes from every cabinet official, every single person in the White House. And there are thousands of decisions that this action, his behavior on that stage calls into question, and I fear for tougher times ahead and whether he has the capacity to deal with those right now. Let alone four years from now. Now, you know, I want to get your take on this too. We've posed the same question to Dr. Ben Carson, who's also an esteemed guest here and a frequent contributor on our show. How weird are the reports coming out now that Joe Biden's wife, Jill, and now even in some contexts or situations, Hunter Biden are sitting in on cabinet level meetings and national security meetings and, you know, completing sentences for Joe Biden or saying, well, he means to say this or reminding him of who they're talking about, et cetera. For someone at sat in a cabinet level position like yourself, would it be weird if the President of the United States brought in his wife and son to come in and weigh in on these huge conversations, having everything to do with the interior and all the departments that, you know, you oversaw while you were a cabinet member or things of national security or when you guys all got together and had the huge cabinet meeting, you know, a couple of times a quarter. It just doesn't seem right to me that you would have the President's family in there, especially, you know, in some of the dire straits that we're in around the world, places like Israel, places like Ukraine, you know, the way the economy is going here in the U.S. Southern border that these family members will be able to come in and weigh in on such large measures. First off, it's completely inappropriate. If it were to take place at an agency, the ethics officials that the agency would go crazy that a non-employee is in a room where there is confidential information being discussed. Whether or not it's actually classified information, the fact of the matter is unless it's available to the entire public, that family member has no greater entitlement to it. And the truth of the matter is that you don't have the same types of disclosures for non-employees as you do for employees. So you don't know what interests, in this case, Hunter may or may not have as he sits there either receiving that information or talking to his father and advising him in some way. That is, here's the contrast. President Trump had Jared and Ivanka work in the White House. They went in as employees. They had to file financial disclosures. They did all of that. They went through that burdensome process to comply with the laws and the rules. In contrast, you have this going on, which is really, really different, if true. It's going to be wild to see how this continues to shake out and play out in real time. As more of America is waking up to the situation that's going on up at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, I think a lot more people are getting dialed into this election than you might have even thought. Just a few weeks ago, people were saying, "Oh, yeah, nobody wants these candidates. This is going to be a boring election. Now I think all of America is tuning in and they just can't take their eyes off of it." It's a good time. We're here for it. We're glad we've got you in today to talk to our listenership about this. Now I want to segue to next week. We're on the heels of the RNC. It's going to be a very celebratory moment, but I think it's a re-issuing of the marching orders to remain on offense to wake up every day and pretend that you're 10 points behind. And the poll is not because Joe Biden is a weak candidate because of what's at stake at the ballot box in November. We know Democrats, this is not the way that this election cycle ends with Joe Biden flailing. They'll either replace him or throw Kamala Harris in there or they'll circle the wagons and say, "Okay, Joe Biden is bad, but Donald Trump is worse and then they'll start with all the fake news and stuff again." But heading into next week, we're going to see Donald Trump accept the nomination formally. We're going to see the announcement of the vice presidential pick. We're going to have some of the biggest names in conservative politics that have coalesced behind him, moving the ticket forward. And when you talk about the policy platform that's been adopted by the RNC from Donald Trump as well, I think it's a great policy platform, not very broad, very specific ways to have another term of promises made and promises kept. But give us a little forecast on what you're expecting next week and how the mood is heading into the RNC. Well, I think first off, you're going to see an incredible amount of unity and support behind the greatest politician in my lifetime, Donald J. Trump. And a prioritization that says, "Hey, let's bring a platform forward and deliver to the American people a platform based on incredible common sense." And if you look at the first things out of the box, I mean, he's like, "Let's seal the border. Let's carry out the deportation program that we need to. Let's end inflation and make America affordable again. Let's bring sensible energy policy back." And these principles are principles that he's been campaigning on for the last two years. They're also principles that led to his great presidency. And I think the American people are going to embrace them. I think they're going to be presented in incredible ways. The speakers will be great. And I think that my hope for the takeaway is that they walk away, the American people walk away with the realization that the President, as a candidate, has one goal. And that is that we are so successful collectively as a country that we are unified going forward. And he talks repetitively about the need to be successful as a country. And I think we're going to hear that. He's saying, "Let's restore America to its great place." And I think it will be a very, very exciting presentation for the American people over that week. No, I think you can think of a better way to end this segment than one with a vision of optimism. Like you just kind of presented for our listenership, Mr. Secretary. This has been great catching up with you today. As it always is when you can take the time and come and share with our vast listenership here. Listen, we've got everything live linked in the show description today. Your handle on social media, a link tree, which is going to take our listenership. Give them the opportunity to check out your book. It was a fantastic read. Me and Noah both have a copy of it in the studio here. You report to me accountability for the failing administrative state. Something we want to see fail a whole lot more starting in January of next year. But we wish you the best and a great weekend. And we hope to have you back here on the show soon. This is the 53rd Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior, Secretary David Bernhardt. Thanks for joining us on the show today. Sir, have a great weekend. Thanks a lot. And this is extraordinary. Just a few minutes ago, George Clooney has posted an op-ed in the New York Times. I'm going to read a line from it. He says, "I love Joe Biden as a senator, as a vice president and president. I consider him a friend and I believe in him, believe in his character, believe in his morals. But he goes on to say he thinks that they need a new presidential nominee. I remember just a couple weeks ago, President Biden raced back from Europe to get to Los Angeles for a George Clooney hosted fundraiser where Barack Obama was also there, Bill Clinton was there. George Clooney is now saying that after he watched the debate, he wants a new top of the ticket that is going to sting here at the White House and also in Wilmington, Sandra. Alright, jumping back into the news portion of the show here. Still in the first of two big Friday editions of Steak for Breakfast. No, what do you think? It was great catching up with former Secretary David Bernhardt. It's been a couple months since he's been on the show, but listen. He was the Secretary of the Interior, but Donald Trump assembled the Avengers often and had all of the cabinet members in for strategic meetings frequently at the White House. And just by kind of laying out for us the concerns he had over Jill Biden and Hunter Biden and some, you know, low-level staffers who were close to them, that might not have the security clearances in all kinds of meetings. I guess sometimes there's reports that they're finishing sentences for him or suggesting that he means something else or, you know, pushing back against things that I guess they don't feel is prudent to the President's agenda. But he said it was like nothing he had ever heard before and definitely raises some big red flags and concerns for him. What do you think? Red flags? You're not good with Hunter sitting in on high-level cabinet meetings? I mean, I don't even know what color flags those are. That'd be something neon orange. Fuck, I don't know. So there's some connectivity here to what happened with George Clooney and his op-ed, which I guess came out in the Atlantic. I've read it. It was fucking garbage and cringe. It was, you know, "Love for Joe Biden, but for the greater good and to beat Hitler, Donald Trump." You know, we need to make sure that the ticket's as strong as possible. And right now, George Clooney, who had a fundraiser in Los Angeles like three weeks ago for Joe Biden, where they raised over 30 million now says he no longer is backing him to run for re-election. So Barack Obama's directing a lot of this stuff behind his scenes. Obviously, he's very close friends with the Cloonies. There's also a connection to, no, have you ever heard Pod save the world? No. The former Obama staffers, it'd be like if me and you were completely gay and retarded and hated America, that would be the podcast. So it would be like soy for breakfast, I guess? Sounds riveting. Yeah. A lot of people think that these nuts, yeah, had something to do with the op-ed that came out because, listen, a Hollywood star doesn't write a several page-long dissertation on why Joe Biden shouldn't run for re-election. It just became, I guess, George Clooney drew the short straw and is weird to me because of the fundraiser a few weeks ago, but that's where we're at right now. It's knives out. He can't trust anybody. And for me, it leads me to believe that's why part of the reason Joe Biden is relying more on his family than he is on anyone else up on the nation's capital because who can you trust besides them right now doesn't seem like anybody. But again, Donald Trump was again, out there, head of the curve, and hammering everyone's least favorite Batman. For going after Joe Biden, let's listen. So now, fake movie actor George Clooney, who never came close to making a great movie, is getting into the act. He's turned on, yeah, he's turned on crooked Joe Biden, like the rats they both are. He can't believe he writes this shit. What does Clooney know about anything? He uses Democrat talking points that Biden, the worst president in the history of the United States, has saved our democracy. No, crooked Joe was the one who weaponized law enforcement against his political opponent, who created the most devastating inflation in the history of our country, who embarrassed our nation in Afghanistan, whose crazy open border policy has allowed for millions of people to illegally pour into the country. For many prisons and mental institutions has to get that one in there. Cricket Joe Biden didn't save our democracy, he brought our democracy to its knees. Clooney should get out of politics and get back to television because movies never really worked out for him. Wow, yeah. Listen, no one's safe from Donald Trump now. I mean, he was even down in Dural on Tuesday, and I don't know what he was talking about, but he was like talking about something to do with food and segue directly to Chris Christie, please don't call him fat. Like the people that have not called us behind Donald Trump expect to get the nukes from now until election day. So, but yeah, he hammered Clooney, he hammered big fat sloppy Chris Christie at the rally this week. And again, we're going to be looking at right now. Joe Biden and his family, I guess his team, you can call them now, are trying to quell the fears of the Democrats. It doesn't seem to be working, but those in leadership are 100% reluctant to just throw Joe Biden out. Because it's a lot easier for a house rep or some governor that, you know, is a Democrat, but it's kind of in a swing state to say like, yeah, this is a joke. This is ugly. This is not what the presidency looks like. Let's get a new candidate in there. But when you talk about the people who are going to be responsible for potentially pushing Joe Biden's legislation, God forbid he wins in November. You know, it would be pretty weird if Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi and Hakeem Jeffries were all just back in the bus up over and repeatedly. And then they're all stuck with each other come January of 2025. I mean, that's the least likely scenario, but you have to take into account. We've seen weirder shit, especially over the course of the last eight years. So everybody's kind of tight asked about this. Nancy Pelosi fresh off Botox wearing way less makeup. She was actually sober in this one. You know, was hard pressed on. I believe it was MSD and C yesterday. It was, you know, they had her on. It was two correspondence at Nancy Pelosi and they had a conversation about like the Save Act and why it's racist and xenophobic. And they talked about like going after Merrick Garland, but you knew they weren't letting her off the set without some kind of commentary. I'm Joe Biden. Let's hear the way she kind of wiggled her way around. Not really unendorsing him. Let's check it out. Have your support to be the head of the Democratic ticket. As long as the president had the president, it's up to the president to decide if he is going to run. We're all encouraging him to make that decision because time is running short. I think overwhelming support of the caucus. It's not for me to say. I'm not the head of the caucus anymore. But he's beloved. He is respected. And people want him to make that decision. He has said he has made the decision. He has said firmly this week, he is going to run. Do you want him to run? I want him to do whatever he decides to do. And that's the way it is. Whatever he decides, we're going. Not sparkling. Whatever Joe Biden wants, Noah. What daddy wants, daddy gets. I can only imagine what's going on behind the scenes right now. Yeah, there's got to be some. I mean, they had a meeting with senators. They had a meeting with Democrat House members on Tuesday. I believe Wednesday, it was with senators. And it just seemed like everybody that came out of these conferences that looked mortified. Like, I don't know if they're getting read the riot act. Like, is your political careers over? You know, the money's gone, etc. I don't know what they're saying. There's just a lot of people coming out and saying, like, what they're telling us is unsatisfactory in regards to answering our concerns. And I think that's the biggest, you know, component of this that you have to look at. Well, it's like the band playing as the Titanic sinks. Yeah, it really is. I've seen a couple memes like that online lately. It's just, I don't know, I can't believe how fast this flipped. You know, it was like night and day. You wake up one day and the walls are closing in and Trump is finished. And within six minutes of the presidential debate, you were like, God, touch this. Well, I mean, you have to figure there's probably been multiple contingency plans on the table for them. And whatever led up to this point, they are like, all right, you know, it's like the Austin Powers, the female checkers, like release the whatever that meme. Yeah, it's like, all right, fucking pull the rug off and under Biden. That's what this is going to be right now. Yeah. No, whether or not we didn't get close enough to the brink of World War three. We didn't have people take the bait on all of like the race baiting shit that was going on in the country where they wanted riots to pop off and. And then, of course, there's the Israel Palestine stuff. Isn't it so weird how white cops aren't just killing criminals in the streets anymore because it's not. It's not something that's needed to set anything off. Isn't it just weird how it just kind of just stopped forever? Well, to some extent, yes, but you also have a lot of people that are putting themselves in danger because they're not making the appropriate choice. It's a great point. A confrontational situation. In which case, there's probably been a lot of cops that have been dying, but we're never going to know what the disposition was on what led up to those events. Yeah, unless it gets national publicity at which point, you know, Donald Trump always reaches out to the family and winds up showing up at the funeral. We've seen it quite a few times over the course of the last few years, unfortunately. Jeff Selaney, who is a contributor for CNN, was on Anderson Cooper yesterday. Outside of that speaking piece, she gave to MSDNC. She had gone up to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and had a closed-door meeting with Jeff Selaney, who reports for CNN and outside of that speaking piece that Nancy Pelosi gave on MSDNC yesterday. Was reporting on Anderson Cooper's show that Nancy Pelosi had gone out to the Virginia suburbs and maybe to the basement, maybe for somebody who had an earpiece? Who? Barry Hussein Obama had a face-to-face meeting with him about the concerns they had over Joe Biden's candidacy and his mental fitness for office. I don't know who leaked it or whether or not Barack Obama said, "Let's put it out into the political sphere, but let's hear it." Whoever leaked it's probably going to be invited to go kayaking. We are learning tonight that throughout the course of this week, as we've seen the public words from former speaker Nancy Pelosi, we're learning that she has had a private conversation. Earlier this week with former President Barack Obama, they have talked about this matter. We do not know exactly the contents of that private conversation, but we do know, talking to a variety of Democrats in a new story just posted moments ago. Isaac, Devera, and I talk to many Democrats who are looking to Pelosi and Obama to sort of find a way out of this infighting and crisis that has dominated the Democratic Party. Now, they have intentionally given the President his space and his time on this, but we have seen Speaker Pelosi's very carefully calibrated words, but the new information we are learning that she has had a conversation, perhaps more than one of them, with Barack Obama. Of course, this is very fraught for former President Barack Obama. A friendly and loyal relationship with the President Biden, but it's also a searing one dating back to 2015 when he urged him not to run for President then against Hillary Clinton. That still hangs over all of this. I'm told he does not want to be too assertive, he does not want to push too much, but it is clear that many Democrats are looking to them to sort of find a way out here. One Democrat who were quoting in this story this evening, Anderson, the very senior Democrat tells us that they were waiting and watching for President Biden to reach a decision on his own. And we heard Speaker Pelosi say earlier this week she wanted people to wait until after the NATO summit. Well, that NATO summit is now over. So the question is on Friday going into the weekend. Are there any more conversations, private conversations, perhaps with Chuck Schumer and others directly to the White House? Of course, the decision is still President Biden's and his alone, along with his family. But the fact that there are others sort of in this orbit talking about this is certainly significant, as many believe time is running short, Anderson. What do you think? What if the next move is going to be for Barack Obama to just come out and say, well, you remember that video? I just wanted to be in the basement, my pajamas. That's exactly what's been happening. I've been working out too good. Yeah, but like maybe that like, yeah, he's been a fake president the entire time. Guy has no fucking idea what he's doing. He's he's illegitimate and I apologize, but this has been my, my next term. He's going to tell us about how bad of a vessel Joe Biden's been. House Minority Leader again. Entitled on the Hacking Jeffries, how does weekly press conference yesterday? That wasn't actually there there because there was a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. He was meeting with House Democrats trying to quell the fears here. And, you know, where the news is, is essentially stating that there is like an hourly plan, which is constantly changing, which would be accepting of Joe Biden getting out of the race. He's going to let Joe Biden and his family make their decision. Although again, blaming MAGA Republicans and then trying to deflect away from. I don't want to say elephant in the room because I heard they have good memories. What are forgetful animals, goldfish? Yeah, goldfish must have like, what, 30 seconds? Sleepy crooked Joe Biden, let's hear it. Do you think that Democrats don't have to winning back the House to the Biden system to top the ticket? House Democrats will win back control of the House of Representatives on November 5th and vacate the extreme MAGA Republican majority. As long as we are able to clearly communicate our agenda of putting people over politics, lowering costs, growing the middle class, defending fundamental freedoms, and democracy, and contrast that with the extreme MAGA Republican agenda, which will destroy. It's so stupid that that's the thing. Working families and the middle class way of life as we know it. You don't want to answer any questions about Joe Biden. But he would put out a statement and I'm going to read it here. We could talk about it then. This is from the office of Hakeem Jeffries that came out this morning, which is Friday. Dear colleagues, over the past several days, House Democrats have engaged in thoughtful and extensive discussions about the future of our country during a time when freedom, democracy, and the economic well-being of everyday Americans are on the line. Our discourse has been candid, clear-eyed, and comprehensive. On behalf of the House Democrats and the caucus, I requested and was graciously granted a private meeting with President Joe Biden. The meeting occurred yesterday, Thursday evening. In my conversation with President Biden, I directly expressed the full breadth of insight, heartfelt perspectives, and conclusions about the path forward that we, the caucus, has shared in our recent time together. As House Democrats have done throughout this Congress, we will continue to work on the best interests of everyday Americans. Thank you for your continued leadership and the service of the communities we are privileged to represent sincerely Hakeem Jeffries Democrat leader. So again, met with Joe Biden, expressed concerns, no context of what the conversation was about, or what Joe Biden's perspective on that argument is. And again, not saying we're done with them, but not really endorsing them either. It's crazy. You kind of can't have it both ways at this point. And I think that the next avenue for the press to go down regarding this is having them be held to some kind of, because you saw what happened. The lady asked about, "Do you have concerns about the Democrats not being able to win back the House of Joe Biden remains at the top of the ticket?" And Hakeem Jeffries just started going off on fucking MAGA Republicans and all this other bullshit, women's rights, threats to democracy. And you could hear the lady, she's like, "Yeah, but Joe Biden," and he puts up his hand like, "Stop talking." And at that point, he would continue to finish his point that he was trying to make, which wasn't the question that was asked. So I guess from the House Democrats' perspective, that's kind of where they're at. Now, the man who posted on the social media shortly after the presidential debate two weeks ago, California Democrat Representative Ro Khanna. Remember, I read it on the show, no, he's the one that says, "Democrats have governed, what did he say, like a village or a community, and will continue to do so with our comprehensive team." Which was like absolutely terrifying that he was admitting that it was like a groupthink team, supporters, whatever, around Joe Biden, who's calling the shots and not him. Well, you know, he was talking about some of these closed-door meetings that House Democrats were having, and he was doubling down. I guess he must be part of the decision-making process. And maybe someone that's a, you know, it's so weird that all these Biden cabinet members have lasted the entirety of his first term in office. And I could only assume that someone like Ro Khanna would be pegged to run, pegged. Oh! Some kind of agency or department in a second potential Joe Biden term. But again, he was drinking the Kool-Aid and promoting the Biden side of the ticket message that we got to come together. Let's check it out. Who just participated in a very long meeting among House Democrats, a closed meeting where you all discussed President Biden and whether he should remain as the Democratic nominee. What was the takeaway from that meeting? Well, again, look, I never discussed confidential caucus meetings never having my years in Congress, but let me give you the take of what I think is the temperature of colleagues overall. The reality is that the president has said that he is running. He is the only person who has the votes to make that decision. And I think there is an increasing consensus that we need to now focus on making the case against Donald Trump and making the case against the extreme policies of Project 2025 and unified to win with the assumption that he is the nominee. Hmm. Someone's up for a job in the next administration. What do you think? Yup. Interesting. How this is kind of all shaking out. Don't worry. No, we're going to hear from Federer Titties in just a second. Guys, wherever you're listening to the show today, hope you're enjoying it. Welcome. Happy Friday. Do us a favor. Helps us out big time. You'll never miss out on all the great stuff we've got going on down here on the show. We're going to be catching up with Indiana Congresswoman. She might actually even be en route to the RNC out in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Erin Houchin, in just a bit, love conversating with her. Did I mention Federtiti's? I think I did. So they sent him out as the representative. I first saw him on news nation. Then a little bit later in the afternoon, I was starting to get dinner together yesterday and I'm going through like he was on CNN. And then I came back from my kid's sports late in the evening and he was on Fox News. So I guess he drew the short straw and unfortunately had to go out and speak on behalf of the Democrats in the upper chamber. And, you know, what he was going to do in regards to keeping endorsement, remaining. I mean, he did an in-person campaign event with Joe Biden in Pennsylvania last week. And when Joe Biden was like, having one of his, they're trying to take the microphone away from him. And he just like, head shakes him, forearm shivers one of his staffers. Get out of here, Sonny. And he just is like, I don't have to worry about Pennsylvania because we got John Federman. The camera goes from like the wide Joe Biden angle to the tight. John Federman and his, I don't even know if, I thought they were getting a divorce. So possibly a strange wife, immigration fraudster. We're in the corner and it was like tight angle, right? John Federman's face. And he was just like, you got me. Let's hear him. Senator Fiderman, I'm curious how you think Biden turned this around at this point. So Biden has said only the Lord Almighty can convince him to drop out of the race. He's pointed fingers at the media at elites. He says he doesn't believe the polls. He's talking about this crowd side. I mean, turn it around, I'm not sure what you mean by turning around. Again, he had a rough debate and he just had some really great events in my own state. And he's been done a really great job through the NATO convention as well. And what I think hopefully needs to turn and change is that people that seems to be his friend or an ally, you know, getting in front of it in the Washington Post and the New York Times and saying that, you're entitled to your opinion, but I don't understand why that's helpful on that. But Joe Biden is committed to stay in this race and that's our guy. And I don't understand why Republicans, you know, after the trial or after conviction and all the other terrible things that is part of his record. Republicans circle up and stand with them and with Democrats, we all panic. And I've never remembered, if you're in a foxhole, that panicking has ever made that situation any better. What in the actual fuck? All right, I saved it for a good one this time because it was better man. He forgot to even mention Donald Trump before he started talking about him. So, Elizabeth, that was when he did a, you know, segment on the view, I guess they wanted to ask about what the meeting behind closed doors with senators. And Joe Biden and his team was like, I think it was just Joe Biden's team, he wasn't there. It's a poor guy. I mean, he's doing a lot better than he had been, but man, you want to talk about somebody that can't put two sentences together. It's the Pennsylvania senator from the Democrat side of the aisle. I'll tell you that much. But yeah, these people, I mean, listen, I don't think John Federman has a lot of deep rooted special interests or lobby groups that are banging down his door to be represented, like some of these other fraudsters in Congress. He doesn't have the mental capacity of, let's just say, a Nancy Pelosi or Dan Crenshaw. And I think it's kind of an outsider and an outlier in the US Senate. I think he doesn't have anywhere else to go except with the party because nobody wants to fucking be around him or tie their wagon, anything that has to do with him. I mean, he's a complete moron. And I think what John Federman's doing right now is smart. I mean, he has very little political capital, but if he's going to be able to go all in on something and maybe cash in, it would be on Joe Biden winning in November. And being rewarded for staying loyal, as this again is his first session in the Senate as well. JB Pritzker, who everybody knows, well, he's quite rotund and has political aspirations. The tyrannical governor from the state of Illinois, son of literal mobsters, and he's conducted himself that way since he's been the governor, was doing an event, I guess, for Joe Biden this weekend. And at some point in between, like, the speaking portion of the event, and let's head over to the buffet and see how the Swedish meatballs look was caught in a hot mic moment. Talking about, hey, did you really mean everything you said 10 minutes ago when everything is fine and we got to get behind Joe Biden? Let's check it out. I mean, we're just going to keep fighting. I don't know what to say, you know, I got to do what we have to do. I don't like where we are, but I need you to get him to the glass. It's just broke. It's just broke. The mayor is here. I don't like where we are. I mean, either. I finally agree with something he said. He's also going to tell you to make sure you're vaccinated and put both of your masks back on. Fuck yourself. He was one of the worst. So Jim Himes, who's a House Democrat, he's one of the people that have been leading the charge out of the defectors in the Democrat side of the House against Joe Biden. He put out a statement this morning, which is, you know, talking about the unfitness or unwelledness level of Joe Biden at this point. I'm going to read real quick. Joe Biden is a remarkable leader in unparalleled public service with undeniable achievement and unconditional patriotism. His administration created historic job growth and put people over politics by cutting health care costs, passing gun safety reforms, rebuilding our infrastructure and restoring a brutally divided sense of national decency. It has been my honor to serve and work alongside of him on the achievements that have secured a remarkable legacy in American history. Again, that's not really an incorrect statement because unless we get this Joe Biden legislation that's been passed reversed, he is a legislative juggernaut, per se. It goes on to read is because of those traits and consideration of that legacy that I hope President Joe Biden will step away from his current presidential campaign. The 2024 presidential election will define the future of America democracy, and we must put forth the strongest candidate possible to confront the threat posed by Donald Trump's poised, mega authoritarianism. I no longer believe that is Joe Biden, and I hope that as he has throughout his lifetime of public service, he will continue to put our nation first, and as he promised, make a way for a new generation of leaders. So that's a talking point that's starting to come up more frequently as well. You know, he was asked about it at the NATO summit during the question and answer portion of his speaking event and then you have a house representative who's using that as a, again, a portion of his narrative to suggest why Joe Biden should get out. He promised to push young leaders. Where are they? Because he's almost 90. Last one I've got. It's kind of a funny one. What all the shit that's going on, you know, the White House press pool still happened over the course of this week. Did you see how one of amended the other day when Peter Ducey tried to get KJP before she picked up the binder and ran away. It's amazing that they're, they're even letting him in the building anymore. Yeah, I know with Jackie Heinrich in there and also getting field of questions, I'm surprised to even call on him. Let's check it out. The sharpest before eight p.m. So say that the Pentagon at some point picks up an incoming new. It's 11 p.m. Who do you call the first lady? Are you guys just not since February testing President Biden for Parkinson's or for dementia because if he gets a bad result, it's all over that day. Thanks everybody. Well, where is he wrong? Where any questions in regarding Joe Biden's fitness, if it has to do with, listen, nobody wants to invoke the 25th Amendment, the cabinet level positions when asked laugh in the face of reporters all the time. Fuck with my money, I would never do that. But honestly, if a report came out and said, yeah, we've been kind of, I don't want to say skew in the numbers because it would be a lot more like bending. Yeah, but yeah, so listen, if you want to talk about whether or not the Dems were satisfied with Joe Biden's performance this week, especially after the NATO summit speaking portion of, you know, his agenda. I don't think so. I know Barack Obama's working overtime behind the scenes trying to make a fuss. And when it comes to leadership up on Capitol Hill, it doesn't sound like anybody really wants to be able to give that sparkling endorsement. Chuck Schumer even put out a statement today, I have my own opinions on Joe Biden and the current state of his candidacy. However, I will not be publicly airing any of my concerns if there was any. So again, it's going to be, you know, balling Joe Biden's court for now. He's going to make his own decision. Hopefully it'll be the right one. We're going to leave it at that as we're getting ready to jump in with Indiana Congresswoman Aaron Hoacham. But before we do another check in with one of our partners, I think it's time we had a conversation about a good night's sleep. Pillow King of Minnesota, Mike Lindell, and the apparatus known as the MyPillow family has been cranking out savings down at MyPillow for over 20 years. Alright, joining us next on the show today is a big Friday edition of the State for Breakfast podcast. She's the congressman who represents Indiana's 9th Congressional District, always excited to sit down and catch up with representative Aaron Hoacham. Welcome back to the show. Hey, thanks for having me. Oh, man. What a busy week you guys are having up on the hill. Lots of stuff. I guess, you know, before we can even talk about votes and legislation, which is things that are kind of falling under the radar and the newswire, it seems like your counterparts on the other side of the aisle have not had a good time for the last week, we can have to say the very least. It seems like we can't get any of them on the same page in regards to commentary with who their nominee is, even though for the last four years they've kind of alleged that we can't figure out who ours is. And now you see the media kind of, well, shooting it a little bit straighter than historically we've seen over the past couple of years as well regarding Joe Biden and the fallout that's come from the first presidential debate. Congressman, how's your office kind of looking at this? And I have to admit, I'm pretty sure you guys are probably enjoying it just a little bit. Well, I gotta say, we have had, I'm on the elected leader committee for, I was elected a leader of the freshman class, so we had our elected leaders meeting, which is in the speaker's office and routinely, almost every single time I've come out of that speakers meeting and into the hallway there it is, I would say littered with members of the press, waiting to talk to us about some whatever we're dealing with for the issue of the week. And this week we walked out of the, out of the speakers meeting empty hallway. And it was, it was a, it was literal a ghost town and there were dust bunnies and everything else. We're in a rolling down the hallway, but then I go around the corner and right outside of Hakeem Jeffree's office is a gaggle of reporters. And so I was, I walked up to this group and I was like, Hey guys, you want to talk to me. And no one was interested in speaking to me about anything. They seems, turns out they had something else on their minds and I said, Well, that's just weird. You guys don't want to talk to us about anything. And one reporter said, Hey, count your blessings. It's funny to watch the way it's kind of shaken out. You know, you talk about leadership and even within the Democrat caucus, whether it be committee chairs or Hakeem Jeffree's just the vague, you know, soft endorsement, if any, that Joe Biden's getting from them. Congressman, you saw the way the debate played out. I'm sure it didn't take you more than 10 minutes to figure out that all the things that you guys have been accused of trying to spin this fake news or cheap fakes or concerns that you were trying to bring to the forefront for the American people in regards to leadership up at the White House. Who's really running the country? What's going on with Joe Biden? We're all pretty much confirmed for all of America to see, you know, outside of how probably enjoyable of an experience. The last 10 days or so have been. There has to be some big national security concerns from your office regarding, like, you know, Peter Ducey and it was like a funny sound bite. Just recently this week, tried to ask Korean Jean Pierre during the White House presser, you know, if somebody calls outside of the business hours of Joe Biden, which is like 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or, you know, 8 p.m. or whatever. Who's answering the phone and what's the deal of the country if it comes to a national security threat or major emergency? And you really have to look at it from that is a concern that probably keeps a lot of Americans up at night. It's a huge concern and what's even worse is the level to which the left and people around Joe Biden, the level that they've gone to to to hide and and gaslight and cover up what we have known to be true about about this president that he is incapable. Certainly and he's probably not actually running the country and that he certainly isn't isn't able or capable of serving for another four years. You know, this has been on display. Like as if it's a it's a train that is slowly careening toward the ravine and the track is ending and and it's all moving in slow motion. It's it's it is a real concern. You know, my dad passed away of Parkinson's. He had Louie body dementia. And when I was watching the debate, it was as if I was watching him struggling trying to do that. You know, as he was declining. So, something is definitely amiss. It's not cheap fakes. It's not fake news. This is very real. The sad thing is the people around Joe Biden, Dr. Jill Biden. I mean, the people that are putting him in this position should be ashamed. It was sad to watch. It's scary for the country. Just more evidence of the need to elect Donald Trump is our next president to get this country back on track. And to promote, you know, the platform ideas that he has put forth for the Republican Party and the country to keep us growing and get make America great again. Yeah, it's a really good point. You make as we as we jump into some topics. I want to cover legislative, you know, big votes that are coming through in the house this week. And I think we'll start and probably is the most important one to save act. You know, not according to the mainstream press, not according to the media and not according to Democrats who want to say that these laws are already on the book. This is a measure of like grandstanding and prevents regular average American citizens from voting. But here's the deal for the amount of illegals that have come into this country under Joe Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas need to debate the number anywhere from 10 to 20 million. But by the time we get to the ballot box in November, they don't even have to show up on election day. Once they're registered to vote, it's those empty spaces on voter rolls that are nearly impossible in a lot of cases without a huge push from state legislation to get off and clean those voter rolls from. So just the fact that so many different states, whether you're talking about welfare programs, the ability to work or even registering for an ID have components that will automatically register you to vote. The SAVE Act seems like a simple slam dunk to safeguard the elections, add another layer of protection for American citizens. But why has there been so much put back? Is it because they're looking to do things like pad the voter rolls? And where do you think this goes from here? Oh, I think they absolutely do want to pad the voter rolls. I think they use this idea that somehow requiring documentation or voter ID or proof of citizenship to vote is somehow a deterrent for people. But we saw in the state of Georgia, when they bolstered their voter ID laws, more people voted in the state of Georgia than ever after that. So that's a false argument. It's a straw man argument that is not even -- it's an un-American argument, actually, because the one thing that we have to safeguard the Constitution and our democracy is the right to vote. And it should be limited to United States citizens. We have 10 million people in the country illegally in states where once you register to vote, they mail you a ballot. I don't think that asking for proof of citizenship is too much to ask at all. I think it should be standard. And we do already have it as law that you must be a U.S. citizen to vote. But that doesn't mean that illegals are not trying to vote and are not voting and won't be registered to vote. And quite frankly, they may, if they're registered to vote at one of these federal agents, through one of these federal executive order directives where the agencies are required to register people to vote under executive order by Joe Biden, they might not even know that they can't vote. Correct. And Hellman is checking. So this is a real issue. Republicans are leading the charge on this, and I'm happy to be part of the effort to require, in federal elections, proof of citizenship in order for someone to vote. You know, whether or not it gets to a floor vote in the Senate, whether or not it ever gets to Joe Biden's desk, and like he's already done threaten to, you know, not sign it. The fact of the matter is I think House Republicans did a good job leading the way on this initiative, and I think the receipts that we're going to get are going to be eye-opening to the American public, and there should be at least some accountability for it come election day. I do want to talk also about the changes that have been made to FAFSA, and, you know, all of the errors that are impacting students, parents, and colleges across the country. This has been something that's been raised as an issue bipartisanly, but is going to be getting voted on very soon. Why is it very important right now to create more accountability to make sure FAFSA is done right on time? I mean, for, you know, Joe Biden stands on education where it doesn't really matter where you go if you complete, you know, your time in college, or if you get a degree, he'll pay for the bill. But when it comes to getting the money to actually allow you to go to college, you have to be able to take care of that stuff, and part of it starts and ends with FAFSA. Yeah, so we saw just for a little history, three years ago, Congress passed the Simplify FAFSA Act, and they asked the Department of Education to simplify the program, and in doing that, they had three years to get it done. And in three years, they did nothing to prepare for the simplification of FAFSA, and instead spent almost all of their man hours on the illegal Joe Biden's illegal student loan bailout scheme. And so when we got to the recommended deadline for the rollout of FAFSA last year of October 1st, they were not ready. Then they went all hands on deck to try to get ready, and they tried to roll it out in January. I'm a parent of college students where, you know, I experienced it firsthand, it was not ready. Even when they finally got the form available, the reporting came back inaccurate. It was an unmitigated disaster, much like the Obamacare rollout and everything else that the Democrat administrations have tried to do. So this bill that we passed out of just out of education committee right before I came in to speak with you is the FAFSA Deadline Act, and it says that on October 1st, it's not just a recommended deadline. It is the deadline that the Department of Education must have the FAFSA available to American students. And that's important, because these decisions on where they're going to college matter, the financial aid that they will receive that matters to their decision making process, and it matters to universities in trying to determine their enrollment and their budget. Finally, I will say that even today, we heard from members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, one in particular, who had a constituent who just this month received their decision from FAFSA, and they're going to college next month. I mean, that's just ridiculous. So, yes, this bill is important. It has passed committee. It did pass committee with bipartisan support. The next stop will be getting it to the floor. That's wonderful. You know, you talk about, listen, if this was a bill that was promoting safeguarding illegal aliens going to colleges and universities throughout the country, it would be the biggest bipartisan push in the history of America from the Democrat side. But since it's one that benefits just, you know, American students and their ability to be able to prepare adequately to be ready, and especially in the financial department, to get ready to go to school, post graduation from high school. It's just something very important, awesome job by House Republicans pushing this big time. And then last thing I want to touch, you know, protecting women's rights, especially in sports, Joe Biden's erasure of that throughout the course of the last three plus years, and then the rewriting and weird language that they've tried to, you know, intertwine into the rewriting of Title IX has been something that, number one, I think, is disgusting. I have a daughter who plays sports. I can't wait for her to have to go up against some of these larger social issues that the Democrats have created when she gets a little bit older and into high school. But, you know, making sure that women are protected in sports is something that seems like a slam dunk at something that Republicans have ran with, a lot of Congressmen and women who come through the show, you know, promote and are pushing for. But it seems like we're getting towards a vote on some legislation that's going to push back on something that, you know, even the courts have waited on and said Joe Biden's got to take a little bit of a different route, whatever they're trying to do regarding it. Yes, so I, in the Rules Committee this week, I had the opportunity to question the ranking member of the Education Committee, Bobby Scott, on this very issue of men in women's sports and spaces, because they're also men and women's locker and girls locker rooms and boys and girls locker rooms and in the places where they're supposed to be safe and protected, and we know that women are suffering and young ladies are suffering injuries from the boys and the men that are participating in sports against them. And so I asked Mr. Scott to define what a woman is, and he was just not able to do that. It's unbelievable that he couldn't really come up with an answer for that. He did admit, as did Secretary Cardona, when I questioned him on this issue, when we did this bill, the Protect Women in Sports Act months ago, I asked him if Leah Thomas was identifying as a male, or was a male, and it was in the locker room as a male. Would that, at the women's locker room with the female swimmers, would that be a form of sexual harassment? And he said, yes, but once he realized where the direction I was going with it, he very quickly walked it back and said it was not actually sexual harassment. They know on its face that it's wrong, but they're so tied to their far left base that they cannot untie themselves from the reality of what should be a very common sense issue. The most moms and dads in America are with Republicans on this issue. They want their young children, their young girls, their high school girls, their college age kids, they want them to be protected, they want them, they want fair. We're going to keep fighting for it. I think you guys have to, and at this point, hopefully next year we'll be doing a lot more things in the 119th session of Congress to continue to safeguard and protect women in women's sports and spaces. I'm glad you brought that up as well. It's not just the fact that girls are getting crushed in competition on the field by men who shouldn't be competing against them, then they have to go and share spaces like locker rooms and restrooms with them, which I just think is the times we live in right now. It's not for the weak stomach, and especially if you have daughters like we both do, we've got to do the best to take care of it moving forward and make sure all of the American people are on the same page regarding that. Congresswoman, last thing I want to talk to you on, you know, we're just a few days ahead of the RNC. Donald Trump had a rally this week down in Florida, about 50,000 showed up, you know, triple digit heat in the middle of the week. Granted, it was the evening, but I mean, to see the way that Donald Trump has risen to the top of the pile here and kind of high stepped over Joe Biden following the debate. It's something that's probably going to go down in history is one of the greatest comeback stories, even not even political, just in general, in the history of our great republic. And, you know, to see the wave that he's probably going to be riding with the coalescing that's happening behind him now, a lot of people who maybe didn't endorsement the primary or didn't see eye to eye with him legislatively. Last time he was in the White House seems to all have come back under the MAGA tent, you know, even some of the hardest fought primary challengers that just said that they were the answer. A few short months ago now, like Nikki Haley releasing her delegates and Ron DeSantis going to be at the RNC, speaking as well, it seems like we're in a really good space. We're going to get the announcement on the VP. It should be a little bit of bump for the ticket, but that wave that he's looking to ride coming out of the RNC and heading straight to the ballot box in November is going to be something that's going to take continued republican support. We know that you are going to be at the RNC and you kind of want to get a little bit of a preview on what you're looking for, what you expect and, you know, probably what you're looking forward to most from hearing from President Trump. Well, you know, I am really looking forward to the convention in Milwaukee. It's going to be a great week. Republicans are united behind Donald Trump as our nominee and who will be, I think, the next president of the United States once again, and we are excited about the fanfare that we're going to see. You know, Donald Trump and the Republican Party released their platform. I think it's a simplified platform, but it speaks to the heart of the issues that I think most Americans, the vast majority of Americans care about. And it's on the right track. You know, people are talking about the border. They're talking about inflation. They're talking about energy prices and the economy, and they're talking about crime. And these are the issues that are reflected in Trump's platform that I think people will embrace. We do know that polling and whether or not we believe polling and we can have a whole other debate about the polls, but it's showing continued growth for President Trump over and above Joe Biden. And one thing I thought was quite telling is when Joe Biden talked about what a crowd he could draw to the interview with George Stephanopoulos and George corrected him and said, I don't think he want to get in a crowd drawing contest with President Trump. And that was pretty classic because he does draw those crowds. They love him. People still love him in my home state of Indiana, strongly supportive of him and want to get back to the policies that had this country thriving under his leadership. And we've got to turn it around and we can. We'll have an opportunity to do that. And I'm looking forward to hearing President Trump's vision for that at the convention. I mean, when you just look at it right now from our perspective, I mean, especially over the course of the last few months, you don't have a leader at the top of the ticket. There's chaos and, you know, within the house and Senate and essentially the entire party is running rudderless as they head into this election season. You know, you can't fundraise. The polls are not favoring you anything. Those are all items that I can now use to describe what the Democrats are currently going through is Republicans have kind of galvanized this around President Trump. It's, you know, something that's a position that we're not always in. I hope that we don't want to pass it back like a hot potato and we continue to just stay with this straight up to November. I think we can. You know, when winning starts to feel good and then I think a lot of people are so much happier going to work and not have to worry about hearing like, "Oh, chaos in the party and are you really working for the American people and can you really get behind Donald Trump?" Now it's just like, man, look at what you got over there. You got, you know, leadership on the Democrat side who can't come and formulate an opinion that sticks, you know, in regards to supporting their candidate. And then when you look at, you know, what's going on in the world right now, it's not like any of the items that the American people want addressed at the ballot box in November are getting any better. The world's still on fire. The borders still open. The streets are still dangerous. And no one's got money in their pockets. So why wouldn't the country be in that condition? Because we have a non-existent, really a president who's out to lunch. I mean, he's only on the job part time. He's only available part time. He only can extend so much mental capacity toward that. And we need a full-time president. We need a strong leader. And we don't have that right now. America wants a president back and they want one who's going to be able to lead both home and on the foreign stage. And I think Donald Trump's going to be the person to do that come November.
