This is not nom, this is bowling, they're a rule. - Hey, hey, hey, junior, America! (upbeat music) - It's like... - Oh, I'm the fastest! - So, stand by. - All right, everybody, welcome back to the Steak for Breakfast podcast. Second of two big Tuesday editions of the show today, I'm roan. I can assure you that at some point, in this episode, Noel will be here. If you're a first-time listener, welcome to the show. If you're a long-time listener, welcome back to America's fastest growing, and quickly becoming favorite podcast. And if you're here in this episode for the first time today, don't worry, we'll catch you in a bit. Just press pause, go back, and check out our first edition of the show. That's episode 4.12. We hosted R&C attorney, Christina Bob, and Tennessee Congressman Andy Ewells. In addition, we talked about Supreme Court ruling, which came down yesterday on presidential immunity. In addition, the Democrats continuing to be in a state of disarray following Joe Biden's disastrous debate performance last week. Right now, we're getting ready to get this edition of the podcast kicked off by jumping into the remarks that Donald Trump delivered to supporters in Chesapeake, Virginia over the weekend, massively attended event, hosted by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, who was very welcoming to the former president and presumptive GOP nominee, and it looks like nothing could stop him now. And we'll get into the best of the rest headlines in our second news segment, which is going to essentially highlight the continued meltdown of just about everybody over Joe Biden. We've got two more great guests coming in here. Again, between the two shows today, the stars align. We have three congressmen coming in who all consequently represent the fifth congressional district of their respective states. We caught up with Andy Ewells, as I mentioned, Tennessee Fives, U.S. Representative in our first edition of the podcast, Arizona Fives, Andy Biggs will be here at the end of this segment. And we'll wrap up the second of two big Tuesday editions of State for Breakfast today with Virginia Fives Representative, Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, Congressman Bob Goode. So great guests, great shows, great content, hopefully a little sprinkling of NOAA. And let's jump right into it. So let's just speak Virginia, hugely attended event for Donald Trump. This came, I don't know, within 48 hours of the presidential debate. And to say that the president was as sharp as ever, fired up and ready to roll, we're gonna see just how great he looked and sounded out on the campaign trail as we're getting ready to start things off here. Before we get to any of Donald Trump's remarks, Glenn Yunken, who was one of the hosts of the event, who has come back wholeheartedly under the MAGA tent, and is now a very open and adamant supporter of President Trump's candidacy, as he knows the direction this country needs to go in. Introduced 45 in Virginia before the rally got kicked off, let's check it out. (audience cheers) But yes, all roads do lead through Hampton Roads, and Joe Biden's road to retirement is going right through Hampton Roads. (audience cheers) My friends, it is time to elect strength back into the White House, and in just a few minutes, let's join together and welcome the next president of the United States, Donald J. Trump. God bless you. Thank you. (audience cheers) - Love to hear it. As I know, you guys love to hear it as well. You know, it's great that so many people like Glenn Youngkin has done the things that there are still others within the Republican party have not. I'm talking about Governor Ron DeSantis, former governor Nikki Haley, et cetera. You know, I think if you did not ideologically line up with America First or even Donald Trump, you may have had some negative experiences with him in regards to the workplace environment throughout the course of his first term, or have come under fire via his social media sense. After what we saw last Thursday as a nation regarding Joe Biden and the current commander and chief of our country, I think it's time to take all of those concerns and ill wills and inhibitions and just throw them out the window because the greater good is way more important than your career, than your ego, than anything that has to do with your presence if you wanna dabble in the arena of American politics. And for those who are still holding out and waiting because they know in just a few short years, they can announce their candidacy to be the next great political figure in this country. History will judge you and you will have no opportunity or avenue to ever reach the pinnacle of aforementioned political aspirations. And that's just the way that I look at it. Go ahead and yonkin took a great opportunity to stand with Donald Trump and he's there. He wants to flip Virginia to the Republicans and he wants to make America great again, good for him. Others that have not, time is finite. We say it all the time. We'll see by the convention what people are doing. Really happy to, well, not only admit to the podcast, but admit via Zoom my frequently overworked co-host Noah. Welcome to the show. - Howdy, what's happening? - Well, we missed you in our first edition of the podcast today. - Yeah, what did I miss? - Well, we talked about SCOTUS and absolute immunity and how the Democrats in regards to their law fair are essentially screwed. I don't know if you heard Noah because it's breaking news today. We all know you were working late, but here's the deal. Even though it really doesn't have anything to do with the Manhattan ruling in regards to the Stormy Daniels Hushman case, Donald Trump's team put in a, I guess, injunction saying, "Hey, can we just take a look at the SCOTUS ruling legally "and maybe push back my sentencing two weeks at the most?" Well, Alvin Bragg's office and Judge Mershant said yes. So now Donald Trump, if he's going to be sentenced, won't be sentenced till at least July 24th and Donald Trump will have nothing stopping him from officially and in personally, accepting the Republican nomination at the RNC July 15th through the 18th. - Nice, did you also talk about how these idiots are totally misconstruing what the constitution means in this situation? - Oh, you're talking about weaponizing seal team six to kill your political opponents? - It's more like meal team six. - Yeah, we heard a couple of good ones from people like Van Jones, we know you're a huge fan of him and then Randy Maddow obviously had an epic meltdown last night. But yeah, we did touch on that a little bit and then in our second news segment, we caught up on the Democrats and their absolute state of disarray right now regarding the fallout from Joe Biden's debate performance and where they go from here. We know legally, like, totally, there's a lot more hurdles at this late point in the race than just to do a bait and switch with Joe Biden outside of him, God forbid, passing away. Even if he has some kind of medical emergency where he's like a vegetable, it doesn't necessarily just give the delegates to whoever, like, the people who come in and rally around Joe Biden saying, "Oh yeah, everybody needs to support Gretchen Whitmer or Gavin Newsom now. That's not the way the rigged Democrat system works." Plus all the money that's up in the air. There's a lot of infighting going on in the Democrats. You know, half of them are having to come to Jesus moment where they actually seen themselves in a mirror for the first time and it's like completely awakened. What's been going on for the last three and a half years? And the other ones are just like, you know, we ended our second news segment with, you know, Rep Clyburn, who basically rigged the South Carolina primary, which gave Joe Biden his opportunity to get to the White House back in 2019, come out and say, "I've been all over the place, including, you know, well, we traveled public airports." And I haven't had anybody say anything negative to me about Joe Biden's debate performance. And it's like, wow. - Did somebody immediately post them going, "Fuck you at the airport." - It's bad. It's bad. - I mean, yeah. - So, I mean, basically the only options are 25th Amendment and death, right? - Yeah, that's it. - And they'll never do the 25th Amendment unless they're super desperate, but I'd give that another month, probably. - Yeah, and the best part of corroborating information that I could only start to think about, that Joe Biden has really done in regards to this election cycle, came from Tucker Carlson's Twitter account last night. I know you probably didn't see it, but he had a three post thread where he basically said, from a DC insider that's directly connected to everything related to that whole relationship between like the Obama's and the Biden's and the Clinton's, that Joe Biden's done and they just are trying to figure out the fastest way to do it. And it looks like moving forward, it would probably be Kamala Harris because you can't skip over the top rated Black Indian woman out there, essentially. So, who knows where they're going from here? Again, it's a lot messier if they try to do it now, even if it is with Kamala Harris, but I don't know. It's really interesting to see the meltdown and the after effects. I've tried to find an L amongst all these W's we've had since last Thursday, when it's almost impossible. Like every time something good happens, I wait for like the fallout, but last night in the media, whether it was on Newsmax, NBC, CMBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, Fox News, the Democrats were all like, yeah, we're fucked. We don't know what to do. And the Republicans were like, we're winning. We really don't know how to hold this. We want to give it back to you as soon as possible. Can you figure out a way to take this away from us? And Donald Trump's had a really good 72 hours, probably the best he's had. And there's been some good ones, but for the entirety of his reelection campaign, and after the ruling this morning, that they're not going to have the sentencing before the RNC convention, we're heading into the 4th of July holiday, coming on the heels of some of the biggest wins of the entire election cycle. So what do you think, Noah? - It's Magamuff, motherfuckers. - It certainly is, and as well. - Also, I've really liked the transformation from Dr. Jill Biden, to coach Jill Biden. - Or President Jill Biden. - Or macho man Randy Biden. - Oh, God. - No end of you owe music for her. Man, it's wild times we're living in. We're just getting into Donald Trump's rally out in Chesapeake, Virginia, which happened over the weekend, well-attended, hugely attended, co-hosted by now a fully MAGA Glen Yunken. We just played the introduction clip. We're going to get right into Donald Trump delivering the remarks to the supporters out here. Let's check it out. - Thank you. Hello, Virginia. Did anybody last night watch a thing called a debate? - Maybe you've heard of it. (crowd cheering) That was a big one. But as you saw in television last night, we had a big victory against a man that really is looking to destroy our country. He's the worst. He's the most corrupt, the most incompetent president in the history of our country. (crowd cheering) And we have to take it back from that party. That's an evil party. Despite the fact that crooked Joe Biden spent the entire week at Camp David resting, working, studying. He studied very hard. He studied so hard that he didn't know what the hell he was doing. (crowd laughing) He got the debate, rules that he wanted. He got the date that he wanted. He got the network that he wanted. With the moderates he wanted. No amount of rest or rigging could help. Him defend his atrocious record. It's not defensible. I don't care who you were. You could be the late, great Clarence Darrow. Has anyone ever heard of Clarence Darrow? He was known as quite a good debater. Not as good as you governor, but that's okay. Come on, throw a master debater. I can't miss this guy in the crowd. (crowd cheering) But his son's much better looking than him. (crowd laughing) Joe Biden's problem is not his age. It's not his anything really. It's got no problem other than it's his competence. He's grossly incompetent. You know, they keep saying old. I know people that are much older than him that are doing unbelievable things, making a fortune. I knew a man that at 79, he was never a success and he made a billion, billion and a half dollars from 79 to 92, and that's what it is. It's not his age, it's his competence. He's not respected anywhere in the world. Our country is being laughed at all over the world. Biden is using the weaponization of his justice department, the FBI, local district attorneys and attorneys general to try and win an election against his political opponent. That happens to be me. Do you know who I am? (laughing) - No. - Perhaps you've heard of me. - Yeah, and you wanna know what? It was great. The love fest between Donald Trump and Glenn Youngkin is very open and very public right now. It seems like all rips and tears have been sown and amended and we heard Glenn Youngkin introduce Donald Trump, seemed very enthusiastic about the former president being there and then we'll hear him a little bit of Glenn Youngkin when Donald Trump called him up on the stage and to see those two powerful figures within the Republican Party. Glenn Youngkin a little bit more of a moderate. Donald Trump obviously ultra-maga, but to be able to meet in the middle and put their differences aside because the country is at stake here. Right before he jumped in, no, I said there are still some people who haven't fully coalesced behind Donald Trump and I'm trying to figure out, maybe it's 'cause they're taking time off for the 4th of July holiday that's coming down the pike here, why they haven't come out and just put everything behind Donald Trump's ticket because after seeing Joe Biden on the debate stage, you saw Orange Joe Biden go out there and essentially violate the Hatch Act and continually act in the unconstitutional nature, weaponizing his words against the Supreme Court of the United States last night in regards to his commentary on presidential immunity. It's a disaster right now and I don't know what people in the Republican Party who haven't gotten behind Donald Trump are waiting on right now, but it seems like their political aspirations are absolutely cooked. If they don't realize in this moment in time, their aspirations don't even fail to register in comparison to what's at stake here in this country, who's running it right now and where we go after the November election, what do you think? - Yeah, and it's really interesting when you look at, then you think sometimes you're like, he has to know that he's totally contradicting himself, but then you realize that he doesn't know that he's contradicting himself because he's just reading whatever cue cards that they've pounded into his head off the side of the stage before he goes up there. Like, I will respect the limits of the presidential power as I have for three and a half years, but like completely going around the Supreme Court to pass his student loan forgiveness, which is unconstitutional. - Amnesty. - Amnesty, yeah, don't even get me started on Amnesty. - And persecute his political opponents. I mean, come on, man. I mean, it's the big three right there. And then when you talk about people within the Republican, no, what's it gonna take? I mean, okay, is seven years of fat jokes really enough to have Chris Christie never come back to the middle on the America First Movement ever again? Or Rhonda Santis, okay, cool. He's gonna fundraise for Donald Trump. Yes, he gave like that half-winded endorsement of him when he decided to get out of the race, or even like Nikki Haley, who's official campaign account, which isn't her official campaign account, keeps putting out like trolling pictures of her with the caption, "Do you miss me yet?" Like, what's it gonna take for these people to like swallow their pride and understand that what's at stake in November is more important than their political aspirations? Or is it just never gonna happen? - It's not gonna happen. - Yeah, I mean, even Mike Pence, Mike Pence. I mean, it's sad that they can go out and have Kamala Harris use his talking point. You know, there's two people who have been present in the United States in this race, and only one of them has the endorsement of their vice president. Obviously, that's gonna be a little bit different after the convention in a couple of weeks here, but the fact of the matter is, is that that is a talking point that Mike Pence's pride is so swollen, and his ego is so hurt from what happened after January 6 with Donald Trump. They can't make amends, even after what they saw on display for the entire world to see last Thursday. It makes my stomach hurt, it really does. And, you know, we talked about what's going on with Joe Biden, will there be a bait and slitch? Tucker Carlson thinks, yes, I'm still kind of leaning, no. After talking to a lot of people who have, you know, legal knowledge of how the electorate works, especially in states where the ballots are already printed, essentially, we're getting early voting in just like essentially six weeks or less here. I know the last couple of states to have their primary, like Florida and Tennessee, and some of the other ones that haven't yet come, you know, pretty close to the end of July, and then boom, we're in August, we're getting ready to start up for early voting. And it's gonna be really hard to see what they're gonna do, but, you know, for as much as we've acknowledged who the potential challengers to Joe Biden's candidacy could be, Donald Trump actually acknowledged it pretty thoroughly at the speaking event in Virginia over the weekend. Let's check it out. - Many people are saying that after last night's performance that Joe Biden is leaving the race. But the fact is, I don't really believe that because he does better in polls than any of the Democrats that talking about, you've seen that, Glenn, these polls come out with some of the names there being, like Gavin Newscombe. He can't run California. He's one of the worst governors. (audience groans) No, he's a bad governor. He can't run California. People are leaving one of the most beautiful places on earth in terms of weather, in terms of everything else. He can't do any better than California. He's doing a terrible job. But he gets up and he says, "Oh, California's doing great. "Bop, bop, bop, bop, bop, like machine gun, bop, bop, bop, bop." But it's doing bad. People are leaving so fast and he'd be easy. But he's got lousy poll numbers. And you take a look at some of the others. Then of course, Kamala is somebody that will be on the scope. (audience groans) It might have been Joe Biden's single best decision putting her as vice president. It might have been his best because nobody wants that. I do, I'd be very happy with it. But they don't poll as well as this guy. I mean, I don't want to speak against myself, but maybe, and they polled everybody. They polled Michelle Obama. She polls very badly. No, she polls terribly. Michelle Obama, people, you know, they polled many people. And it's hard to believe, but crooked Joe Biden polls better than those people. So I don't know what's going to happen. And I have absolutely no idea. I just know that we're going to make America great again. (audience cheers) That's a good looking group back there. Better looking, better looking than front row Joe's. You know what happens? You think they don't have a good seat. They actually have the best seat because oftentimes the cameras are on them, the cameras aren't on you. And I make it a speech and they have all this stuff. It's all over the world. And a lot of them get picked. Would you like to come to Hollywood? A lot of, you'd be amazed how many people, they see some of these beautiful faces and they say, let's move them to Hollywood. They have the best seat. Central casting. They don't know it, but they do it. (audience cheers) (audience cheers) Okay, I don't want to point to too many of them. Get myself in trouble. They're having a really good time with them as you can tell. (audience cheers) But here's the thing. He went for Kamala. He talked about Gavin Newscombe, right? I see the way that he's looking at the teleprompter and part of me feels like there was more people on there that he was going to start talking shit about. And he like paused for a second and he's like, you want to know what? But in regards to this stuff, it doesn't really matter 'cause we're just gonna, he turns around, looks at the crowd, make America great again. And everybody starts going nuts. I felt like he just kind of passed up on the rest of that talking point because he didn't want to continue to highlight like the JB Pritzkers or Gretchen Whitmer's or any of the other completely irrelevant people who, and again, when you look at the head-to-head polling, including Michelle Obama, the Blue Wall, the Rust Belt, and the major battleground states, especially in places like Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada. These other candidates that they're propping up there in this election cycle do not do good against Donald Trump when it comes to poll numbers. And there have been a lot of poll numbers that have come out over the last couple of days that I think we need to take a look at real quick. General Election poll, this one's from CNN came out today. Trump 49, Biden 43. Donald Trump's largest lead in the CNN poll ever. We also had, I believe, a battleground one that came out today. Well, here's a go, swing states. This is from Polymarket, Pennsylvania. Trump 58, Biden 42 Wisconsin. Trump 56, Biden 44, Michigan. New high, Trump 54, Biden 46, Arizona. Another new high after last week's new high. Donald Trump 74, Biden 26. Georgia, Trump 80, Biden 20. Nevada, Trump 71, Biden 29. North Carolina, Trump 83, Biden 17. I mean, we've gone so far outside of the margin of fraud. New Hampshire poll came out yesterday. Remember, it was tied a couple of weeks ago and everyone was calling Caroline Levitt crazy for promoting it. Well, here's one post debate, June 28th through 29th. Donald Trump 44, Joe Biden 42, Robert Kennedy 4%. A Republican has it won New Hampshire in 24 years. It's trending. Yeah, it's absolutely crazy. All registered voters, this one's from NBC News. This came out on Sunday morning. Trump 47, Biden 43. People who voted in 2020 and 2022, that's only 56% of the sample. Biden 49, Trump 44. Remember, it's a little bit more than half the sample. Voted in 2020 only, even less 17% of the sample. Trump 50, Biden 38. So the numbers are definitely trending in one direction. And when you look at Polymarket, which is where everybody's throwing their money on there, and this is with the entirety of the ticket, presidential election winner. Trump 63, Biden 19, Harris 5, Newsome 5, Obama 4, RFK Jr. 2. And Donald Trump has trended up to where today he's at 63%. May 30th, he was at 54. June 26th, he was at 59. And July 1st, he was at 63. That's the number I just read. So 63% of the people who are putting money on the presidential election are putting money on Donald Trump. No, what do you think about those numbers? Outstanding? Yeah, there's not too many other ways to look at it. And not too many other ways to look at how great Donald Trump should be feeling heading into the 4th of July. You could find the links on social media. It's also in the link tree and all of our bios. Basically, incoming guests, guests that we had that week, top headlines we're looking at, how to help out the show and the Trump campaign. So getting back into it here, Donald Trump wanted to acknowledge the Supreme Court ruling, not in presidential immunity, because that didn't come until yesterday, but what the Supreme Court weighed in on regarding the 1512C2, that's the terrorism attack on charge, in regard to a lot of the people who were wrongly prosecuted in regards to January 6th, let's check it out. The Supreme Court ruled that Biden's Department of Justice has wrongly prosecuted hundreds of Americans for peacefully protesting on January 6th. (audience cheering) (audience cheering) Those people have been treated so badly, especially when you compare them with people that ripped apart and killed people in Portland and in Seattle and in other places, they have been treated so badly. So we're asking, based on the decision, they should immediately be released immediately, the J-6th decision. (audience cheering) And we're still gonna wait to see what happens in regards to those people who had their sentences extended, or if their sentences now won't include time served at those charges, essentially need to be either appealed or dropped off of the initial sentencing. So, no, that's a huge development and one of the two big ones from the Supreme Court, I know we talked about it a little bit on Friday, but when you see the way that the Supreme Court ruled in regards to the January 6th terrorism attack on charge and then presidential immunity yesterday, which I didn't think was gonna be as clear cut. I mean, even in some of the opinion, Clarence Thomas wanted to take it to the next level by saying like, who the hell gave Merrick Garland the authority to appoint citizen, Jack Smith, to special counsel Donald Trump, as it is essentially unconstitutional for a citizen to be able to investigate or I guess charge the former current sitting, whatever president of the United States in any kind of special investigation. There's big developments coming out of the Supreme Court. - Well, yeah, they're kicking the can down the road and they're moving the markers or moving the goalposts or whatever you wanna call it. To the extent of everything they're doing is just slowly wearing people into just letting the government do whatever they want. - That's a good point. - Whether it's spying on American citizens with some of the new AI stuff that's going on and all this other random nonsense. Do you hear the new like open AI company is like mostly funded by like Bill and Melinda Gates? - Yeah, I did. You know, I'm seeing it come across the news wire that there's a speculation coming out of Europe that there's going to be an official statement regarding Ukraine. One of your favorite all time America last. - They're gonna buy him a suit? - Well, I hear they're getting ready to tell this guy. - If you can't give us some financial support, okay. Okay, please, give us a credit. - That until the corruption is cleaned up within the country, they are in fact too corrupt to join NATO. Nice. - They're backing out of just about every single thing that they tried to do during Joe Biden's term in office. And my only fear and in the face of the Constitution and the complete, you know, nuking of the way, congressionally, you're supposed to do things. I just feel like Joe Biden's gonna try and do a bigger blanket amnesty and it's gonna spell an absolute disaster for how you can try to put that toothpaste back in the tube. I mean, that's literally one of the last things they could do to try and hurt Donald Trump on his way back to the White House, but I just don't understand why someone's not doing something or at least starting to challenge the amnesty that Joe Biden's given out to this point. I guess we'll continue to have to track it when the news cycle ramps back up after the 4th of July holiday. Getting ready to wrap on the rally here. I mean, Glenn Youngkin did a great job introducing the 45th president, but Donald Trump would call him back up on stage and although he spoke briefly, you could tell that the love fest was real. Down in Chesapeake, Virginia, let's check it out. (crowd cheering) - Happy, thank you. - Here we go. - Like President. - Okay, Virginia, are you ready to win? (crowd cheering) Mr. President, this is the best Trump rally that you have ever had and you're doing it in Virginia. (crowd cheering) And yes, on behalf of 8.7 million Virginians, Mr. President, we are going to go to work and get you back in the White House. (crowd cheering) - I mean, when you talk about people kind of swallowing their pride a little bit and getting in behind Donald Trump, no, is that hard? That was 43 seconds of getting up in front of your supporters and your constituency, obviously, for the way people show out in places like Virginia for Donald Trump, he is obviously the clear favorite out of anybody that ran in this. Is it that hard to get up there for 40 seconds? Be like, this is my state, we're going to help you win. Let's get fired up and then just shake the guys' hand and get off the stage, is it really a big deal? - Yeah, no. - So it's not Mike Pence, Chris Christie. Frickin'. Oh, God. You know, Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley. I mean, not like we need you or even want you. It's not like you're going to have jobs in the future administration for the love of fucking God. Just come out and get behind the guy in this movement. I mean, there should be no, nothing holding you back after the debate performance last week. And, you know, we're going to leave it at that before we jump in with Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs, because I did, you know, to kind of make things a little bit fair and balanced. Pulled one of Joe Biden's clips from, you know, within 48 hours of the debate, he was out on the campaign trail. You know, stump in somewhere and talking about green energy and the fact that he's a little bit crappier than he used to be. But he used talking points like Donald Trump's got the personality of an alley cat. I still don't understand what that means. Called him the only convicted felon who's running in the presidential race. And, well, kind of defended his horrific debate performance. Let's check it out. - I don't walk as easy as I used to. I don't speak as smoothly as I used to. I don't have to bad debate as well as I used to. But I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. (audience cheering) - I know, I know, I know right from wrong. (audience cheering) - But I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done. I know like this is America's no. When you get knocked down, you get back up. (audience cheering) - That was a statement. - That's not an alley, that's a cut car. - I know what it took to take our economy in the depths of pandemic. It's where it is today, the strongest economy in the world. I know it'll take to bring this economy to everybody. I know it'll take to rally the world. - That confidence this time against Putin and defend freedom, not you. (audience cheering) - And I know it'll take to keep the world safer and free for the years ahead. Folks, I'd give you my words and Biden I would not be running again if I didn't believe with all my heart and soul I can do this job, because quite frankly. (audience cheering) - The stakes are too high. (audience cheering) The stakes are too high. (audience chanting) - Shut the fuck up. - When the cheers at your campaign events have turned into yes you can. Speaking about, I'm not joking. - Who be your pants? - No, living. - Oh, yeah. - They're talking about living and probably pooping your pants. But literally living. - Like when they say four more years they just want them to live that long. - Yeah. Yeah, it's not even a joke anymore. They want them to be able to get off the debate stage. And I mean, I can only imagine what's going on behind closed doors. I heard an addition to Dr. Jim. - Or if they're pro Kamala, it might be whore more years. - Well, I said it in our first edition of the podcast. I like what you did there. But I'll even drop this one on you. - The hell's wrong with you? Look like a Puerto Rican whore. Make me sick. - Yeah, she does. - But-- - Did she claim to be Puerto Rican yet? - They're everything, aren't they? - Yeah. - But I mean, when you look, I think we are an extended 4th of July holiday weekend away from the real bad league starting to come out from Kamala's team. I really do. Especially after-- - Oh, her just starting to air the dirty laundry out, like I predicted? - Yeah. - Yeah. - Especially we heard how pissed she was that they were looking completely about skipping her over in regards to replacements. And then, you know, everybody-- - Yeah, white and male. - Yeah. - Oh. - And there wasn't there's some fucking liberal article about that. - Yep, Kamala Harris is mad that the next potential nominee might be white and male. - Silly. - And pale. - Oh. - Although the orange hue that they've given Biden, is that because they finally realized that looking like a cadaver isn't really the modus operandi for this? - I like it. Man, they just went way over. The picture that Donald Trump took of him screenshotting his own television last night was epic. No caption needed. He just put it out there. (laughs) Oh man, we don't deserve him and there will never be another one like him. You know, I see a lot of people trying to like, especially like the Little House Republicans, you know, they try so hard to like, get in line behind Donald Trump and be just as base as he is. Some of them do a pretty decent job but there will never be another one like Donald Trump because it's natural for him. It's not forced. You don't need like your office staff to put somebody together, like some, you know, not ST or meme that you throw out there. And it's like kind of funny because you're like a congress person or a senator or a governor and you put it out there. But when Donald Trump, I mean Donald Trump took a screenshot of his television and put it out there with no caption. It was fucking hilarious. So it's just the way it is. And behind closed doors, I heard outside of Dr. Jill, Hunter Biden was the biggest person telling everybody to essentially shut the fuck up and leave Joe Biden alone. He needs to run this race. We all know because, well, the way-- - Somebody get pardoned? - Yeah, we still have a lot of stuff we're investigating in regards to the Biden crime family but it's gonna be interesting to see how this kind of all hashes out. I think we're gonna leave it at that. I'm not gonna play anymore from Joe Biden speaking event. We kind of hit the nail on the head in regards to what Donald Trump was bringing down in Chesapeake Virginia over the weekend. We're getting ready to jump in with Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs. But before we do that, another check in with one of our partners. I think it's time we had a conversation about a good night's sleep. Pillow King of Minnesota, Mike Lindell, and the apparatus known as the MyPillow family has been cranking out savings down at MyPillow for over 20 years. If you want the coffee, my store.com/stake, or you can always talk to a qualified pillow representative, 1-800-658-8045. All right, joining us next on this big Tuesday edition of the State for Breakfast podcast. He's the congressman who represents Arizona's fifth congressional district. He also sits on the House Judiciary and Oversight Committee. He's always glad to catch up with Representative Annie Biggs. Thanks for coming back on the show. - Thanks for having me, good to be with you. - Always a pleasure, and we've got a bunch of stuff to talk about, definitely Supreme Court rulings and all things going on up on Capitol Hill. But I do want to start off with a little post-debate commentary from you, Congressman. Obviously, as you guys in the house continue to fight for the release of the Robert Hurt tapes from the Joe Biden-led special investigation to the classified documents and material, America got about a 90 minute window into what probably is on that tape last week during the first presidential debate. There was also a lot of trap setup for former President Donald Trump, the GOB's presumptive nominee ahead of the convention. The fact that they were going to come at him using the terms racist, rapists, insurrectionist, and convicted felon. But I guess the good part is, and the narrative that we've kind of taken on the show, is the only big argument they had, and the item they really bickered over throughout the course of the entire debate was their golf handicap. So I think that's a win for President Trump. And moving forward, America knows that up to this moment, he's the clear choice for the man who's going to be the chief executive of essentially the world in our country. And Joe Biden just can't handle the business anymore. What do you think? - Yeah, and the good news about that golf handicap thing is I've golfed with President Trump, and President Trump can actually play. And I don't believe Joe Biden can. So he won on every front of that debate. So look, when you start getting serious about this, Joe Biden's, his appearance was bad. His gate was bad walking out the onto the stage. His gate was bad walking off the stage. He was lost staring the, you know, I thought that the, you know, Jake Tapper and Denebash, they were fairer than I thought they were going to be, but in reality, they still bailed him out a few times because he had frozen like a statue a couple of times Joe Biden did it. I think that, you know, if you're a Democrat hack partisan, totally in for the left, then you said, okay, we don't really care. I mean, it's like Joey Reed said, I don't care if he's a wheelchair and can't do anything. I don't care, you know, we just can't have Trump. That's their mantra. And on the other hand, if you look at the presentation of President Trump, it was pretty solid all the way through. And I think that steadiness just shown through compared to the, gosh, I don't even know how bad you can describe what Joe Biden did. And so, yeah, I'm pretty comfortable with where Trump is, at least as far as post debate polling tells us. - You know, and then the major concern, not just from Congress, but you as an American congressman, out of how Joe Biden's capacity to run this country is. I mean, they tried to put out some puff pieces saying that, like during certain hours of the day, sharpest attack outside of that, maybe not so much. I mean, I don't really know how in reality that works out for them, but it just seems like, you know, you had a Trump campaign surrogate that jumped in on the press conference this morning that they did telephonically. And, you know, they're basically saying, well, I don't know what else we're going to use against Donald Trump, because now he got some presidential immunity from the Supreme Court. It just seems like they keep running themselves into walls. But, you know, when you talk about the next several months and what needs to happen, I'm sure there's going to be plenty of infighting on the other side of the aisle and within the Democrat apparatus that's set up around Joe Biden. But the fact of the matter is you can't be an American right now who understands politics in any context and don't think that not only is Joe Biden does not have his hands on the wheel, but there's so many different components from the former Obama administration that are, you know, Tony Blinken is up there. You've got Valerie Jarrett. You've got Lisa Monaco over the DOJ, someone who is very close to Barack Obama and Merrick Garland running the DOJ as well. And it just seems like these policy figures are the ones that have ebbed and swayed Joe Biden's political legacy. And for all the failures we've had from safety on American streets down to our own US Southern border and all the failed geopolitics and everything in between, you want to throw the economy in there as well, it's got to be alarming for Americans to think, you know, if they decide to continue to ride with Joe Biden up to election day, which I think, electorally, it looks like he's got so many different pitfalls if he tries to get out of this thing outside of, unfortunately, it would be passing away. I mean, it seems like they're just going to continue to light on everything in this country on fire and beyond until we go to the ballot box in November. What do you think? - Yeah, look, let's face the fact I believe Joe Biden is going to be on the ballot in November. So they're not going to remove anything. Anybody who thinks otherwise is not really understanding this situation. It would be Joe Biden on the ballot. The left wing media is going to come in and do everything they can to make it seem like he's the only guy you can have. And they will push and they will push against Donald Trump in every way they can. And the reality for them is they would rather go over the cliff with Joe Biden than to let us walk back from the cliff, turn things around with Donald Trump. That is, that's how much they hate Donald Trump. And I want to be clear on this. - So you actually have people talking based on the immunity case and they were talking before that, that they think that, of course, this is untrue. They're wrong. I mean, they've not looked at the immunity case. They just, they're just flat out reading reports and whatnot. I've been trying to work with, you know, these are, these are lengthy opinions that I'm trying to read them as fast as I can share for hits. But I can tell you that's not what that case said. But if you really want to know whether they would, that they are comfortable with killing President Trump, just look at the pundits out there now. Look at Bindi Thompson, the guy who had led the bogus J-6 fake committee in Congress. He introduced legislation to remove secret service protection for President Trump and his family. And what does that say? That says, oh yeah, we're okay if there's, if there's free game on President Trump. That's how outrageous the, the left is in this country today. And I just, I believe that America is far more center right than the left ever predicted. And they have revealed themselves grotesquely over the last three years. And I think any rational human being has got to say enough of that, that mess. We've got to get back to reality. - Well, you mentioned the J-6 committee. I do want to stay in that thread. Obviously last week Supreme Court ruling on 1512C2. That's the terrorism attack on charge. Something that put people who were, you know, in a lot of cases probably wrongfully convicted in jail, but added much more time to their sentences. Even people who weren't even in Washington DC on the date of January 6, 2021. I think that's a big move in the right direction for the Supreme Court acknowledging that that's not being applied in the correct way by a lot of these radical judges. And then yesterday's Supreme Court ruling which gained, you know, in context of the time that he's in office, Donald Trump, presidential immunity, the ability to make those hard decisions and to have some protections when doing things that, you know, most Americans who never serve in public office, obviously up to the highest one. And that of the presidency you're going to have to make on sometimes nearly an hourly basis when you're the commander in chief and the person who's in the Oval Office. - Yeah, so the Fisher case, which is the 1518 USC 1512C1N2, they had a bunch of people. We think over 300 people convicted based on those statutes. But those statutes really were, quite frankly, they were not designed for the type of cases that were brought against these folks. We're talking that this is an outreach of the Enron case. You remember the Enron case. And they were trying to, you know, people were saying, hey, you need to shred documents to save us. Well, if you actually shredded the documents, you got in trouble. But if you were just told people to shred them, you didn't get trouble or vice versa. I mean, it was this gobbledygook there. So Congress tried to fix it. And as always, they didn't quite get it right. But the case here said, look, there's some very specific examples or types used in 1512C1. And you can't say that 1512C2 supersedes that because it's some generic 1512C2 has a very specific purpose and it's not a catch-all. And they pointed out all the cases that said we were opposed to catch-alls. So this is actually going to be beneficial to probably over 300 of the nearly 2,000 people who've been convicted. And it shows, again, the recklessness of the U.S. Attorney and the District of Columbia and their attempt to go after these people. And basically it's a good case and I thought it was decided correctly. I think that there's many other cases that could be decided for different reasons that would free other people. And that's what I'm hoping for. - No, we are as well. And then in the case of presidential immunity, what do you think in regards to the case that Jack Smith and eventually Judge Chuckin is going to have down in Washington DC? I mean, you're losing a component of it with the 1512C1 and 2 and then you're going to be missing some components of it based on presidential immunity ruling out here. I mean, they're going to have to stay within a very strict parameters if they try to go out of it and do something which, you know, most outside the Beltway would be considered radical then it would just go back to the appellate process at which point the Supreme Court would eventually rule on it again. And now that they have an example which they've given in this ruling here, it would seem like they have to kind of figure out what they're going to try President Trump for and whether or not, you know, debating that. And although the practice and prep that goes into bringing a case like this before a judge can even happen before election day in November. - Yeah, that's right. So the immunity case is very, very interesting because as Chief Justice Roberts points out, this was the first time in American history that a former president was prosecuted for acts that undertaken when he was president. You never saw that before. And that's how bad the left is. And what they were doing is Justice Roberts was trying to say, look, you know, when he's engaged in official acts or what appear to be official acts, then he certainly has immunity. There's a presumption of immunity. And then, but he says, look, if he's not engaged in official acts, then there's no immunity. So that belies the point where if you can actually engage in misconduct unofficially going after your political opponent. I mean, that's really the distinction that I think that they were making there. But I'll tell you what else was that was important that I wish that the majority would have adopted is the Thomas of concurring opinion, where Justice Thomas points out that there's no authority for Jack Smith to be prosecuting anyone. - Correct. - Because he didn't have the authority that Congress would delegate and the approval to create a special counsel. I agree with that 100%. And that's what Trump's team was arguing. I wish they would have dealt with that, but they didn't feel like they needed to even address that question because they were gonna take care of it on the presidential community question. So it's a big win for President Trump and a kick in the teeth to Jack Smith, and appropriately so. - Yeah, and if you wanna stay in the threat of the legal sense now, we both know that a podcast host and former Trump administration advisor, Steve Bannon reported a federal prison yesterday up in Danbury, Connecticut. I know you have a great relationship with the War Room and with Steve Bannon, Congressmen, a lot of the people who make that show great are regular guests and contributors on this show as well, present company included. And to see the way that the justice system has gone so far off the rails, I mean, we all know that Steve Bannon could have, just bowed at Bentonee and showed up before the J-6 committee and done what Mark Meadows did and plead the Fifth Amendment to avoid jail time, but he stood on principle because you guys made the determination that this was not a bipartisan committee, it was not legitimate, things weren't done the lawful way, the way that the rules and statutes are set up in Congress. And him standing on principle has put him inside of a jail cell, I just kind of want your commentary on something for probably one of your great friends right now as he's serving a prison sentence at the behest of this broken justice system and an illegitimate committee. - Yeah, it's outrageous, and I was texting him yesterday a little bit and we were trying to get stuff done weeks ago to maybe allow him to stay for an appeal. We're still involved in that and hopefully something will happen there and maybe the Supreme Court will now reconsider the stay based on this opinion. But here's the thing to think about. That committee was not legitimate and thus had no authority issue subpoenas. And if he had no authority to issue subpoenas, then he had no authority to cite somebody in contempt. And you've got the DOJ office that basically prosecuted Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon refusing to prosecute Attorney General Merrick Garland who was given a valid subpoena by a valid committee established by the rules. Now, I mean, just to give you an example. In order to issue a subpoena in Congress, you have to provide notice to the ranking member. But the ranking member is someone chosen by the minority leader. In this instance, that minority leader was Kevin McCarthy and he didn't get to pick a ranking member. In fact, there was no ranking member. They didn't name it, they didn't even pretend. They just said, we're gonna have a vice chairman. The vice chairman is of the same party as the chairmanship. That's the way it is in Congress. But they chose Liz Cheney. So they violated just on those two or three aspects regarding the subpoena they violated it. So Steve and Peter Navarro were both prosecuted wrongfully and yet we have an attorney general who's refusing to give us the audio, which gets back to your point that you made earlier, which I think is exactly right. That audio, that special counsel of her who was appropriately designated special counsel by the Senate. We got the written transcript, but the written transcript of that debate the other night is not gonna reveal the extensive denigration or derogation of the capacity of the president. And it also would not tell us, I mean, you can get a better sense of somebody's veracity by hearing how they talk their tone. Are they being sarcastic? Are they being real? Are they just, is there gaps in time? Are they not able to get the motor going? All those things. And Mayor Garland should be the one behind bars, not Steve Ben. - Well, no, no, that's a great point and where I want to kind of wrap it up on. We saw Congresswoman Anna Paulina-Luna is pushing for the vote for inherent contempt. You had what I would call a bipartisan group within the Republican Party. If I thought the people that were gonna get up on stage and talk about it last week included APL, Dan Crenshaw, Tim Burchard, et cetera, that's kind of not usually people who can get on the same page, but it seems like in regards to this stuff. And how Mayor Garland's DOJ has affected people and almost everybody's congressional district throughout the country. It seems like it's a kind of a unified front, which is good from my standpoint, I'm sure my listenership standpoint as well. But then when you talk about even the lawsuit that's coming down this week that now the House of Representatives is gonna be suing Mayor Garland over this issue, where do you see this kind of going for here? You know, we had Chairman Jordan on the show with us last week and he said, "This is gonna be a process. It's probably not gonna go as fast as the American people want it, but if we want the results that end with the tapes actually being released to the public, we have to do this the right way." And I just kind of want to know if you're in the same opinion as that. - Yeah, and I'll just tell you, I have to confess, I have been asking the speaker to appoint a House Special Counsel for months now to go forward with the civil action against these bad actors because the DOJ wasn't gonna go after him. But Chairman Jordan's exactly right. It's gonna take some time to work its way through the system. And I hope that we're gonna get the result that we should get, which is that those audio recordings come over to the House and then we're gonna release them to the public. That's my attention. Not even necessarily to embarrass Biden, but to show and confirm the allegations that we believe are in there where Mr. Her, basically the Special Counsel Her said, "Look, he committed crimes. And I think the American people need to hear him say, "Yes, this is classified. I'm going to read it to you. Or will you read this classified document to me?" I think the people need to hear that. And basically also his ghost writer needs to be held in contempt as well. So that's what needs to happen to both of them. - Well, it's gonna be a process, but we're here for it. We're glad we got to catch up with you today. Congressman, always great. You provided some great insight and some commentary for our listeners shipped to Canada just here. As always, we've got your congressional website, live linked in the show description today. Anybody that wants to find on social media, check you out anywhere else, where can they do so? - Check me out at @repandybigsaz, @repandybigsaz, or you can go to bigs.house.gov. - Absolutely fantastic, as it is every time we can catch up with the Congressman who's representing Arizona 5. You can also catch him on the judiciary and oversight committees up in the house, Representative Andy Biggs. Thanks for coming on the show. Sir, have a great 4th of July. - Yeah, happy 4th to you and all your listeners. - Wow. (audience applauds) - Huh? (audience laughs) Did you see the debate? (audience laughs) In case you missed it, don't worry. So did one of the contestants. (audience laughs) I mean... (audience applauds) Wow. - That's great, I had people in front of me for both of you, both of you. - Well, I have to worry about people. - He never would have gotten away with that if Joe Biden was there. (audience laughs) - Oh, wow. Oh, Joe. Joe. (audience applauds) Come on, man. So, you know, Joe, he famously loves trains, but apparently not of thought. (audience laughs) (audience applauds) - I mean... (audience applauds) - It's just all night, confused and halting and trailing off. I've seen beauty pageant contestants enter questions better. (audience laughs) I mean... (audience applauds) I don't... (audience laughs) (audience applauds) (audience applauds) - I don't wanna say you shit the bad person. (audience laughs) - This new Secret Service name is Amber Heard. I'm coming, I don't know, this movie is bad. (audience applauds) - All right, we'll leave it at that. And jumping into the news portion of our show again, last news segment on two big Tuesday editions of "Stake of Breakfast" here. I know President Trump said last week we shouldn't be promoting and playing clips from low ratings, fake applause, Bill Maher. But I just wanted to kind of give you guys a little encapsulation onto what some of the bigger names on the other side of the aisle are promoting as part of their content. And I know I sent you the video last night of what Saturday Night Live did following debate last weekend. - Oh, that was brutal, brutal. - They essentially put every really bad cheesy horror movie into a skit in action and promoted some of the worst-- - And they shit on everyone. Someone slides like a card under the door that says like, "Bato 2024." They're talking about Hillary Clinton and Gavin Newsom. It was fantastic. But when you've lost the media and then the people who represent them in late night television and things like Saturday Night Live who have carried the water for the Democrat party for decades now, it is the danger zone. We will be ending our show in this news segment today with an interview with Bob Good, but I think as our last audio clip of the week, we're gonna play a portion of whatever I can pull from the White House press conference, which surprisingly is taking place right now. And I'm just reading the closed captioning while KJP tries to defend Joe Biden. I can tell you something, it's extremely hostile in there and we'll give you guys a little insight onto what's going on up at the White House today. But we're gonna stick in this thread first because there was a lot of big commentators who were pulling out of the woodworks, even those compromised CIA assets, if you will, to either defend or, I guess not, Joe Biden. One of them was James Carville, who was obviously a top Clinton strategist back in the early '90s when he won the White House the first time, but when you have him saying that, "Yeah, okay, it's fine, let's defend Joe Biden," or this, that, and the other thing. But this isn't what America wants, it's never what America wanted, and when you get the replay of Donald Trump versus Joe Biden, it's going to just absolutely nuke people that are potentially gonna come out and vote for him. And I think when you take into consideration, that's where one of the biggest people, at least in regards to campaign strategy, is that right now? I don't know, what can you do besides sound the alarms? And again, going into this Fourth of July holiday, there are some things that are gonna happen over the course of the next six or seven days that are gonna determine essentially what the Democrat ticket looks like. If we're at this point next Tuesday, and it's still Joe Biden versus Donald Trump, I'm assuming it's gonna be there, 'cause they have every excuse with the long weekend to kind of hash it out and figure it out. There was reports today after a conference call between only Democrat governors happened, wanting to know what the hell is going on, why hasn't anybody reached out from the White House, why hasn't anybody reached out to the DNC? Well, Joe Biden and his, I guess, apparatus have reached back and said we're gonna do a conference call and try to ease all the pain and concerns, but we'll see what happens over the long weekend. But again, when James Garfield comes out and says like, we're just beating a dead horse by saying Joe Biden can remain on the ticket, it's gonna raise a lot more greater than concern. Let's check it out. Frankly, most Democratic officials across the country, let's bring in Democratic strategist James Carbel, the former lead strategist for Bill Clinton's 1992 campaign. James, can President Biden win reelection this November? - It doesn't, that's not the real question yet. The real question here is we have a Supreme Court that's bought and paid for our RVs and fishing lives. We have a country that 72% want something different. If a Democratic party can't produce something different that 72% of people want, then why do we exist? What do we hear for? I mean, the country is clamoring for change. And what are we gonna offer them, the same stuff? - James Carbel looks pissed that we went down this road. - Give the people what they want, box, populate, that they want something different. Let's give it to them. I mean, I just don't get the whole thing, I'll be honest with you, I'm from boxing. You know, everybody saw what this author is and I don't take any pleasure in this, this was a year ago, I'm gonna be 80 in October, you can't fight this stuff, it's just there. - So what happens, what do you think the Democrats should do? - Something different, all right. And I don't know, it'll be messy. It'll be a mess, that's what change is. But if the Democratic Party is so committed to the status quo and so committed to sticking with something that three quarters of the country doesn't want, then we have to say why do we exist? What do we hear for? And in mind, we were here to change civil rights, we were here to bring change in Medicare and do great things and family and medical leave and expand in healthcare and great things that are a part of my party and while I love it, but if we can't bring something that people want, I have to doubt our rationale for being here. - I don't believe it at that. I mean, no, that's somebody who I guess within big Democrat circles, you know, someone who's helped. I guess shift gears from what traditional Democrats look like to the party of like pandering the trans rights, open borders, the green new everything, you know, he's someone that's still respected in a lot of circles. And when he's, you know, basically saying like, it doesn't matter whether or not Joe Biden can win elections. I mean, he stopped short of saying like, dude, if we wanted to rig it for Joe Biden to win the election, everybody knows we can. But it's not what the people want. So how do you continue to promote to an unenthusiastic voter base that this is the option you have right now? Literally, the guy who got his face eaten off by the pigs in Hannibal versus Donald Trump. And that's exactly where we're at right now. And it's just scary to think that, you know, outside of people who are like direct campaign surrogates, man, I'm watching this. This has been like 15 straight minutes of KJP just getting absolutely destroyed. I'm just like peeking at the captions, but it's like moments of freezing, mental decline. And then you see her, I can't even understand what she's saying, but she's moving her hands and blinking so fast. It's just, yeah. And then she blinks. - That's true. There were a lot of videos from that debate that had Joe Biden for like minutes upon minutes, just not even being able to, his eyes went from completely closed and then whatever they gave him hit and then he just couldn't probably feel his face. - Who's telling you, there was a remote detonator on him or whatever you wanna call it, a remote injection. Like one of those ones for insulin or something like that, like guarantee it. - Yeah. - Yeah, Hunter Biden made the buy. - And you know, getting into our next clip here and segueing along this, we're gonna stay in the thread of what's going on pretty much with the, you know, the presidential politics, 'cause this is what's engulfed the news cycle. It's not really worth talking about. Yes, there's been more migrant crimes throughout the country. You know, some guy walked into a Chick-fil-A who's an illegal alien that they got his order wrong and he shot and murdered two people. There had been some other rapes and murders throughout the country by people who have no status here. And it's just gonna continue to happen. We could talk about things that are going on with like the latest developments on Merrick Garland, but heading into this long weekend, there's not gonna be any movement. We've gotten commentary from two out of our three House reps that have come on the show. We'll get it from a third when we talk to Congressman Bob Gooden just a bit, but, you know, one of these things we talked about on the show for a long time, Noah, and we've asked a lot of legal analyst lawyers who were connected to the Trump campaign, et cetera, about what the Supreme Court was gonna do in regards to this presidential immunity ruling. And I have to think, at least on the conservative side of the bench and reading some of their opinions, is that they saw the law fair that was being waged against Donald Trump personally. And I think that had to go into part of their decision, even though constitutionally it's not supposed to. It's supposed to be the black and white only. But, I mean, you saw the precedent that the Democrats have set up that they won't leave anything, you know, to be in regards to the constitutional way that you're supposed to conduct yourselves and what they've done to persecute Donald Trump. And I guess they figured they needed a hard reset, but I saw that Louisiana Senator Ted Kennedy jumped on Fox News yesterday talking about how the Supreme Court saw it and essentially calling for the reset as well. And, you know, in addition to taking a couple of pot shots of Joe Biden gave pretty decent commentary on it. Check it out. - From your perspective as an attorney and someone on the Judiciary Committee, who's right there, Trump or Blumenthal? - Well, I think Senator Blumenthal is wrong. I would make three points. Number one, remember that it was the Justice Department that overreached and asked for this opinion and the Justice Department got it. They got it good and hard. Number two, you didn't have to be Oliver Wendell Scalia to see this opinion coming. It was predictable because it's the law. The Constitution in common sense demonstrate that the Justice Department can't prosecute a president not criminally for an official act. It can for a personal act. Now, if the Justice Department wants to prosecute a president for his behavior, the Justice Department has a burden of proving that it's a personal act. And the Supreme Court said, "We're not gonna do you work for you." The third point I would make, Martha, remember, the Supreme Court sees what we see. President Biden is losing this election. President Biden has a neurodegenerative disease. He practically invents a new language every time he speaks. His family has serious legal problems. His staff, which is running the country, is more concerned about gas stoves and whether a man can breastfeed than it is about inflation or crime or the border or national security. And that's why the president's losing. This case was political from the get-go. It was designed to help President Biden. And I think the United States Supreme Court today said, look, we don't get involved in politics. We don't wanna get mixed up in this. That's why it was such, in my opinion, an anodyne predictable decision. - Those are some great points by Senator Kennedy. Again, national treasure, seeing that Joe Biden invents a language every time he takes the stage. But, you know, I just can't help thinking that at least behind the scenes in regards to Jill and Joe Biden, you know, the board of directors, the former Obama administration officials who are currently running this country, both in DC and out spread across the country in the world. When you talk about like Susan Rice and Victoria Newland and John Kerry, et cetera, you know, they're having these hard conversations with Joe Biden right now. And I hate to always reference like absolute bangers, like Spider-Man, but you can't help think that either coming from Dr. Joe or Hunter, we're hearing a little of this. - Well, you can't do this to me. I started this company. - You know how much I sacrificed? - Yeah. Millions and millions of illegal funds coming in from Ukraine and China and Romania and Russia, Russian diamonds. The fact that Hunter Biden's law license was only just suspended in Washington, DC last week, still kind of blows my mind. - How the fuck did that guy get a law license? - I have no idea. - Is that what like we don't, we're not doing the bar anymore? Is that a thing? - Well, it seems like we had it. - They've set the bar quite low with Hunter Biden. - Oh! Got him. - Yeah. You know, and did you see Nancy Pelosi this weekend? - No. - Oh yeah, here. - She drunk, I heard her. - She drunkenly made it across the Sunday. I don't know why they invite her on these shows like Sunday morning when they know she's just absolutely raging till the break of dawn the night before. You know, and when all else fails, remember projection, rejection, deflection is three of the biggest talking points that the Democrats used to make an argument. She said, you want to know what? I'm sick of everybody talking about Joe Biden and his mental decline. I've heard from places that Donald Trump has dementia. - Every once in a while, you still see people that are saying shit like that. Who's that fucking retard Harry Sisson? - Yep. - What an idiot. - Yeah. - Yeah, well, he's taking the-- - That guy, that guy. I can only think that it's just a gimmick. Like, no, you know, bad publicity is good publicity. Making outlandish claims and saying, be dumb as shit on the planet. So both conservatives and retards post it. You're getting the clicks regardless. And I feel like a lot of these people are just so off the wall because they're just trying to make money. - Yeah, you're just getting paid and he'll be back next election cycle for whatever retard the Democrats roll out there. But again, in regards to regurgitating those talking points, they had to come from a source. - We'll go trans. - Oh, there you go. And here's the talking point right here on CNN's State of the Fake Union with Dana Bash on Sunday Morning in a spot from former speaker Nancy Pelosi. Let's check it out. - This is an opportunity for Joe Biden to go out there and show he has the stamina and the rest. And by the way, while the press, and for some reason, they don't, there are a health care professionals who think that Trump has dementia, that his connection, his thoughts do not go together. And, you know, while he may be saying we're enablers, we see Joe Biden, of course, we know how a tuned he is to the issues, how informed he is. I had to bait with him about legislation and not debate, but discuss it with him. He's right there. So in any case, it was a bad night. Let's not show it out. - Sugarcoat that. It was a bad night. It was a great presidency. It was a bad night. - You didn't think I was going to be able to squeeze this one in today, did you? - Shut up, bitch! (laughing) - I would expect nothing less than it's a show. - Oh, man, Nancy, Nancy, Nancy. You know, and again, I talked about weaponizing all of the assets that the Democrat party has. You know when Carl Bernstein comes out. Former CIA asset, one of the people who has propagated propaganda in the mainstream media for going on close to 50 years was wheeled out, dusted off, and reanimated for CNN last night to talk about the state of the Democrat party, Joe Biden's candidacy, and the overall nature of the current news cycle. And when you hear how one of the biggest people in far, as far as pressuring politics and the waters, which way it ebbs and flows, you can't get in any more of a damning statement than we heard on CNN last night. Let's check it out. - So, Carl, according to the people you've been talking to, what are you hearing? - Well, these are people, several of them, who are very close to President Biden, who love him, have supported him, have been among them, or some people who have raised a lot of money for him. And they are adamant that what we saw the other night, the Joe Biden we saw, is not a one-off, that there have been 15, 20 occasions in the last year and a half when the President has appeared somewhat, as he did in that horror show, that we witnessed. And what's so significant is the people that this is coming from, and also how many people around the President are aware of such incidents, including some reporters, incidentally, who have witnessed some of them. But here we see tonight, as these people say, President Biden, that is absolute best. And yet, these people who have supported him, loved him, campaigned for him, see him often, say that in the last six months, particularly, there has been a marked incidence of cognitive decline and physical environment. - What I wonder about is the people who were, you know, working with him at Camp David, allegedly, in this intensive debate prep, if there were concerns there about this, and I don't know if you have any, got any word about that, but how anybody involved in that debate prep, I mean, didn't anybody see something? - The debate prep was supervised by Ron Clayne, who has been with President Biden for many years. And people I've talked to have all been to Ron Clayne in the last year to say, we have a problem. We have a problem, such as we saw the other night, that there have been numerous instances where the President has lost his train of thought, can't pick it up again. There was a fundraiser at which he started at the podium, and then he became very stiff, according to the people there, as if it were almost a kind of rigor mortise. - This was said-- - Yeah. - For a little bit later in June of '20. - This was June of, this was a year ago, almost exactly at the old Four Seasons restaurant on Park Avenue. And he became very stiff, and a chair had to be brought for him to do the latter part of the event. I think that what these folks are saying, and have been saying for a while is, yes, he's great when we see him as we have tonight, but he also has these inexplicable moments that we are very concerned about, and you, Ron Clayne, and the first family, we need to talk about this, and they've been pushed back repeatedly whenever it's been brought up. - And are there-- - So that's what happens when two deep state assets of the CIA get together on a nationally broadcast cable news network, and essentially continue to post the warnings from the deep state that essentially the establishment and the powers that be, the deep state, the administrative state, the swamp, whatever you want to call it, the billionaires who pull the strings and all this stuff, are essentially telling Joe Biden and his family to read the writing on the wall. Now, I think it's gonna get a lot messier behind the scenes than just a clean cut. Oh, I can't do this anymore, you know. I said I promise on everything that's abiding last week that I could do it, but now I can't do it. It's not that easy. I mean, they continue to go out and push back on the narratives. Karine Jean-Pierre just spent a good 30 minutes arguing with reporters on one bad night that does not necessarily define a presidency. It seemed like the narrative that they're gonna run with. And then you even had, you know, Carl Bernstein right there talking with Anderson Cooper saying like, "Oh yeah, we saw Joe Biden "talking about the Supreme Court ruling. "That's what I would consider his absolute best." His absolute best is coming out an hour before you would normally address the nation as the president and read off a teleprompter for four minutes and 24 seconds and then turn around and leave without taking any questions. That's presidential. That's chief executive of the entire planet. - Yeah, no. - No, no, it's not. And what we're seeing in the media right now is they're come to Jesus moment with how did they recover from, you know, essentially lying to the American public for so long and where do we go from here? Before we touch on our last couple of clips, guys, wherever you listen to the show today, last call, pretty simple. Subscribe to Stake for Breakfast. We don't ask for much here. You'll never miss out on all the great stuff here. So as Democrats try to figure out, you know, how the American public is responding to them lying, to them about Joe Biden for so long and where they go from here, they're coming to the terms that, you know, outside of something very extreme, again, legally, electorally, I think that we're gonna be stuck with Joe Biden. We'll see more and have a better narrative about it formulating after this weekend. Let's check this out. - Here tonight, Mark. So what is that feeling in Trump world about the possibility that's been floated of Joe Biden being replaced by someone else, perhaps someone younger, potentially someone who may seem like a tougher opponent to team Trump? Is there concern? - No. - No, it's more like elation at the fact that Democrats are tearing themselves apart at what Trump world thinks is an unlikely scenario and thereby damaging President Biden. That is, the folks in Trump's orbit from Donald Trump on down say, look, not only does Joe Biden have the delegates to be the nominee under the rules, he also has the money. Joe Biden is the candidate who has the campaign structure and the federal campaign finance rules that apply to him, which means the $91.6 million in the campaign belongs to Joe Biden, the candidate. It doesn't belong to anybody else. There's even an argument that doesn't even belong to Kamala Harris. Now, some dispute that. But the reality is, if Democrats somehow tried to jettison Joe Biden, number one, how they would do that at a convention would be very messy and possibly not even possible. - Oh. I mean, for as much as Tucker Carlson has heard some inside information regarding this and how we can easily see the Democrats wanting to distance themselves from Joe Biden after at least the last week's public performance, it's not as cut and dry as a lot of people are assuming it is. So for everybody out there saying like, oh yeah, I know it's Kamala Harris or I know it's Big Mike or I know it's Gavin Newsome. You know, we're just going to have to wait and see. It's very irresponsible to get ahead of ourselves, especially, you know, it's weird. No, it seems like this is turning out to be like one of those superhero movies where the superhero is like so down and out at the midpoint of the movie before they start the third act. But then like the biggest contributing factor to defeating the bad guy at the end was how bad the bad guy like overextended his own means. You are literally running into that in real life here. I mean, this is Thanos with the Infinity Stones, this is the Emperor Palpatine, this is you name it moment here. And, you know, they're being so blinded by their absolute craving of power is going to be their biggest defeat in the end because for all the things that they've tried to, well, essentially force them in the American public for the last three plus years, green, everything, trans everything, open borders, everything, more crime, everything, you have no money, everything. It's all going to blow up in their faces if they can't get his dead body over the finish line in November. - This dead body is going to be rotting in an alley somewhere before they even let him have a fucking stab at it, I think. - Getting ready to jump in with Congressman Bob Goode, but before that, and in our last audio clip of the day, I'm going to play a little bit of what went out at the White House Press Pool as Creen Jean Pierre tried to defend her boss and his record and his performance over the course of the last week. Let's hear it. - So there are growing calls from Democrats, including members of Congress for the president to step aside for the 2024 election because he's not capable of serving another four years. What is his response to this? - So let me just step back for a minute and I guess deal with the questions that have come in about the debate. - She knew this was going to be the start of a very long day. - And honestly, this is something that the president has addressed himself multiple times since this past Thursday. And first of all, I want to say, we understand the concerns, we get it. The president did not have a great night, as you all know, and many of you reached out during the debate. The president had a cold, he had a horse voice, you all heard it, that's why you reached out. But I will say this, and the president said this over the past couple of days. - He's a horse voice. He's heard me right after the debate. He knows how to do the job. And he knows how to do the job, not because he says it, because his record was-- - Only from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Because for three and a half years, almost four years, the president's record has been unprecedented, delivering for the American people. Another thing that he said that I had-- - She's gonna go historic and transparent. - Is he knows right from wrong? He knows how to do the truth. - He's a delivery man though? - And again, he knows how to deliver for the American people. Joe Biden is a person. Take away his title. - And Paul Harris, speech right around this one. - He is someone who has dealt with tragedy. He is someone who has confronted that head on. He is someone who knows how to get back up once you've been knocked down. - Not the 13 service people who died in Afghanistan. - Very, very well. And I think, and we believe that's something that many of Americans across the country understand as well. And he knows how to come back. He knows how to come back. And so the president's gonna continue to focus on what he's been doing the past three and a half years. He's gonna continue to focus on the American people. And, you know, to your question, just to add a little bit more to your question, look, you heard from Speaker Pelosi. You heard from Representative Clyburn. And let me just share, paraphrase, a little bit of what they said. Speaker Pelosi, who was very close to the president, said it is not about performance in terms of a debate. It's about performance in a presidency. And this is a president. You've heard me say this. We've talked about this. He's been able to give us an economic recovery. - Oh, God. - As long as economic recovery in modern history, let's not forget, during the midterms of 2022, many people, many of you all, some of you in this room, said that it was gonna be a red wave, and that didn't happen. He defeated big pharma. We have seen historic low in crime in more than down to 50-year low. And then you had Representative Clyburn, who said, the president has done a great job leading for the last three and a half years. The best predictor of future behavior is past performance. This is from Clyburn. And when you look at the record of President Biden versus former President Trump you see, President Biden, who has delivered the strongest recovery in modern history versus the previous administration, who whose plans hurts the middle class, and President Biden, who is committed to protecting our fundamental freedoms versus the former president, the previous administration, doing everything that they could, and they did, to overturn Roe v. Wade, and they are responsible for it. - Okay, so there you go, fake jobs, abortion, and protecting democracy is the reasons why Joe Biden needs to stay the president, instead of them figuring out what the hell they're gonna do with this. This has just been an absolute mess. And, you know, they even asked her at some point, does President Biden at 81 years old have Alzheimer's, or any form of dementia, the degenerative illness that may have caused these sorts of lapses that he's had recently on the campaign trail, and at the debate last week, KJP, no. And, yeah, and they said, well, what do you attribute that to? And they said his age is essentially equaling to the fact that he's just a little slower. - A little slower? - Yeah, the press even started to bust balls and say, you know, if Joe Biden's so mentally fit, then why can't he just come down here to the briefing room like Donald Trump used to? And she fucking laid into them. But instead of playing the back and forth, which means nothing, I wanted our listenership to kind of get what the message was heading into the 4th of July holiday and the long weekend, ahead of what it looks like. Could very well be Joe Biden's last stand. So I guess we're gonna leave it at that. And we'll have things to talk about on Friday. In addition to that, we'll probably have a clearer picture of this by our Tuesday edition to the podcast. We're getting ready to jump in with Virginia Congressman Bob Good right now. But before we do, one last check in with one of our partners. - It's an unpleasant truth that 42% of Americans are obese and 79% of Americans are overweight. That's practically one in every two Americans living day to day with every minute counting down to the end of an unhealthy existence. It's time to change that and make Americans healthy again. Make America healthy again. - All right, joining us next on the show today to speak Tuesday edition of the State Breakfast Podcast. He's the congressman who represents Virginia's fifth congressional district. He also sits as the head of the House Freedom Caucus, the chairman over the party. Mr. Bob Good, welcome back to the show. - Great to be with you. Thanks for having me again. - Always a pleasure to have you in congressman. We've got a lot of news talking about today on a busy Tuesday here on State Breakfast. Obviously, one of the things that America's been focused on throughout the course of the weekend and to get this week kicked off was the fallout from the first presidential debate, which happened last week. President Trump and Joe Biden got to share a stage for the first time since before the election last cycle and what America was able to see was what a lot of people, especially in the House of Representatives, they've been tabbed conspiracy theorists talking about Joe Biden's mental ability and the fact that there should be some red flags and concerns raised over who's really running the country. But for as much as we're trying to get to the bottom of if America's ever going to get to hear the Robert Heard tapes, America got at least a 90-minute snapshot into that last Friday, and we'd like your commentary on it. - It confirmed or confirmed what many of us already knew as you mentioned, and most of America you would hope was already aware of it. Paul's were certainly indicating that there was concern coming in about his ability to competently execute the duties of his office, let alone for another four years. But when he first walked out his irregular pace, his gates, the way that he just walks to, you notice he kind of pointed at the podium, I guess, the way that he tends to do when he comes into a room or he's leaving a room, he doesn't know where to go. He'll point when he's coming to a press conference or an event. He did that when he first walked in. And then, as you know, in the first few moments when he had that question where he trailed off, he began to stop and stammer and pause and look down and then he muttered something about how we've beaten Medicare, which wasn't relevant to the topic. And then the moderators rescued him that first time. They didn't want to leave him there hanging uncomfortably, awkwardly, for all of America to see. And they did that a few other times, but that first time was really when I think everybody saw, gosh, you know, there's no denying it. Some of the Dems are trying to do so, some of his campaign people are trying to do so, some of his family is trying to do so, obviously, but I think the American people saw it. But worse than his capabilities were lack thereof. And I joined my friendship, Roy, who's calling for the 25th Amendment to be invoked by Vice President Harris, but his policies are destroying the country. And whatever Democrat is his Vice President Harris or in his cabinet or in the House or the Senate, they're all in on these terrible policies that he's executing, which I do believe he knows the big picture on the policies. While he gets confused and disoriented, he gets tired and he fades and he loses his place and so forth, I think he wants to transform the country in the image that he's trying to do. So to go down to history as the FDR, the LBJ of his generation, that has radically taken the country to the unrecognizable far left extreme. - You know, you make an excellent point there. And it's one that needs to be pointed out on a more frequent basis. I think out of all the commentary that's being, you know, issued since the debate happened last week, that's one of the narratives that's kind of falling through the cracks we've actually pointed it out here on the show. It's great that you bring it back up. And it's good to see that, you know, Congressman like yourself and Chip Roy are, you know, at least doing their due diligence enough to bring to the fact that the 25th Amendment at least needs to be considered after that disastrous performance. I mean, you know, it's not just in the answers he gave and how he gave them. I also agree with you. And I think Joe Biden understands like the top, the policy talking points, but when you get into the nitty gritty of it, the fine points and details and giving it, you know, extended explanations on it. That's where he begins to get difficult. Plus, you know, the White House has already outlined the hours that he's usually available to be President of the United States. That should raise a lot of red flags as well. We can't have one that's just on the clock for six to eight hours a day at best. And due to all the traveling and the vacation he's taken nearly, you know, close to 40% of his presidency, it's definitely something that America got to see. And, you know, to see the way the mainstream media has kind of melted down over it. I mean, you know, there was a lot of stuff set up into this debate. There was people who were saying President Trump shouldn't do it. It's a trap. It's going to be three on one. There's going to be no audience. It's an oppo territory. Obviously CNN headquarters in Atlanta. They're going to use their big talking points, racist, rapist, insurrectionist, and convicted felon. All of that stuff was pushed and promoted throughout the debate. But it didn't seem like Donald Trump took debate. I mean, at the end of the day, if the biggest thing that they argued over was golf handicap. And Donald Trump was able to hit on the policy points, which made his first presidency successful. I think it was a good job for the former president and the presumptive nominee to get his message across to the American people and show exactly what the other side of the coin in less than four years looks like. - Agreed. I think President Trump reported himself well. I think he was in command on the issues. I think his demeanor was strong, but it was certainly likable. And I thought that he did a good job in constraining himself. I'm sure a few times. And he allowed Joe Biden to talk and to convict himself with his answers and his policies, as well as his incompetence and incoherence. I have to give a little recognition. You mentioned it, but to the host, perhaps because of what Casey Hunt did to Caroline Levitt. But they were, I thought fair. I thought they challenged Biden as well as Trump. I didn't think they were hyper-partisan against President Trump, even though we know they are in their hearts. I thought they did a pretty good job and let the candidates handle the debate and didn't really insert themselves in a way that was inappropriate. So we're expecting to be much more critical of them. And I thought they actually did a pretty good job. Yeah, it kind of puts the pressure on the ABC News moderators coming up for the debate there in September. If it happens, I mean, to be a little bit more partisan against Donald Trump. But I guess we'll have to see what happens. And hopefully they won't host Caroline Levitt anytime beforehand as well in an opportunity to cut her off. And basically have to re-establish the baseline going in. OK, Congressman, there's been a lot of big developments up at the Supreme Court over the course of the last 72 hours. We head into the weekend last week showing the ruling coming out, which basically dissolves the terrorism attack on charge for a lot of the J6 defendants. That's the 1512C2, which extended a lot of their time serving prison sentences or makes the severity of the crimes that they're initially being charged with worse. The Supreme Court said when it comes into regards to that, it's in a case of extreme measures it's not to be applied. In addition, just yesterday we saw that the Supreme Court ruled pretty much in favor of Donald Trump in regards to presidential immunity, stating that he has some. But when it comes to the time that he's serving within the office of the president, it's definitely going to cover him for a lot of the special councils being built against him right now. Just kind of wanted your office as commentary how you've seen the Supreme Court working over the course of the last week or so. And what it means for the rest of the election cycle? Well, it illustrates and demonstrates what we already know, how elections have such time sequence, especially obviously at the presidential level and the congressional level and so forth. And how much the Supreme Court matters. You've got six justices now who are the constitutionalist who believe in the original intent. And my favorites are Thomas and Alito in that order. And I wish they were all in that mode, it's like that strong, where the other four frustrate me a little bit. But you've got three who believe in the obviously inaccurate dishonest concept of the Constitution. It's a living document where it just changes with the times and you can reinterpret it in the light of today, the cultural norms of today and so forth. And the Chevron deference case was huge as you know, that just got decided, which will strengthen Congress as it should. Article one authority of Congress will diminish the strength or power of the administrative bureaucratic state, the unelected individuals. Matter of fact, as my friend Chip Roy, we already mentioned, but in a rally we're at together and he was talking about the First Amendment and he said it starts with Congress I'll make no law and it should have just stopped right there. Less is more and hopefully with the Chevron deference case, Congress will make less law. Well, issue less mandates, if you will, through force of law and the American people as the federal government is supposed to do, less is more. And repeal should be our focus, rolling back, reversing, overturning and so forth. And it's gonna require more work and more diligence and more specificity from Congress on the laws that are written, but it's gonna reduce the power of the administrative state to interpret, apply, and large the laws of Congress to suit the whims of the administration. And that certainly happens much more so in administrations like Biden, Obama, and the left, of course. So huge. So thank God for those three justices appointed by President Trump. It tells us why it's so important for so many reasons, not tell without Joe Biden that four more years in the White House and to allow President Trump to be the one that appoints justices over the next four years because of cases like these ones that you referenced. - No, it's big and moving forward, hopefully it clears up a lot of the clogging that was looking to incur over the rest of the election cycle. It's a shame when you see Donald Trump is rising in the polls, he handled himself during the debate, but still has all of this legal premise hanging over his head. Obviously on the minds of moderate Republicans, either way Democrats and of course, independents, things that happen legally and that are made very public and the way they're portrayed and the media is gonna have definitely considerable power held over the election cycle and the less we can get of it, I think the better it'll be just for the fairness of Joe Biden running against Donald Trump right now and nothing else in between. I do kinda wanna switch ways, maybe sticking a little bit of the threat of the Supreme Court, but see the way the justice systems can kind of weaponize against a lot of people in America first, obviously we saw the host of the War Room, former Trump administration advisor and well, I guess we could both consider him patriots since we're both very friendly with a lot of people who are surrounded in and around the apparatus that is Steve Bannon and he reported to federal prison up in Danbury, Connecticut yesterday. It's really shamed a way to see that this kind of went down. There were legal avenues that Steve Bannon maybe have been able to gone down in regards to I guess showing up and invoking the Fifth Amendment when the January 6th committee subpoenaed him, but the fact of the matter is he stood on principle and his principle now lands him in prison. So I know that for someone who's been a great guest on the War Room for a long time, as well as a guest here on this show, you probably have some commentary on it and our listenership would probably be very excited to hear you kind of weigh in on it. - Yeah Steve Bannon, what a courageous warrior, what a principled patriot to do what he thinks is right in the face of consequences. I often say it doesn't matter what you believe if you don't have the courage to fight for what you believe. I'm often saying that when I'm up in Washington trying to exhort or cajole my colleagues to stand for the things we say we're gonna stand for to fight for those things. And Steve Bannon in the face of personal consequence did what he believed is right. He has stood just undeterred in that I texted him this morning to all him praying for him thinking of him 'cause he's become a good friend and he just said, hey, victory or death brother, keep fighting and everybody else keep fighting and he's been trying to encourage me in my race and the challenge of my race and the recount process and the contest of the race that we're gonna be going through in the weeks ahead. He's always thinking about others, he never talks about himself, he never talks about his situation, but my prayers are with him. My hope is that with some of these cases that you just referenced whether it's presidential immunity, applying to official acts of the president, that there'll be some extended protection there for those who are his advisors and his counselors and those who speak to him as well in addition to what you referenced on the January 6th for those who are being unlawfully, egregiously held without due process, cruel and unusual punishment, violation of right to a speedy trial and all those things. We are in a battle for the future of our country like never before in modern times, certainly not since the Civil War and Steve Bannon is a picture of that. - No, he certainly is and he's definitely one of the loudest voices within, I guess, standing in the breach for America First and all things, you know, that's connected to it. It's really a shame the way that this kind of shook out, hopefully moving forward, they're gonna find some legal avenues that might be able to get him and people like Peter Navarro out of jail earlier than their, you know, sentences they've sent them there for, but you know, we're gonna continue to not only support the honey badger, but bringing people who, you know, both of our shows share as far as guests to provide up to the minute commentary on whether or not they were able to speak to him before he went to prison and just how they feel about the overall process or lack thereof in Steve Bannon's case. - You know, sticking in the sense of the legal system here, Congressman, you know, there was some movement last week on Merrick Garland and his inherent contempt of Congress, obviously ignoring subpoenas to turn over the audio tapes of the Robert Herr-led special investigation in the Joe Biden regard in the secret documents and things of that nature. However, you know, it doesn't seem like the Department of Justice or Merrick Garland is flinching in the face of the chicken that Congress is playing with him right now. Do you think that we're doing enough to kind of pressure him? We saw just yesterday a lawsuit was filed on behalf of Congress to, you know, make those tapes available to the American public and I just wanted to kind of get where your office is looking at that from the latest perspective. - No, I don't think we're doing enough. I think Republicans continue to take knives to gun fights and we're not fighting fire with fire too often. We are an unprecedented times, you know, relatively things we've just been talking about in modern history, the weaponization, the abuse of power, the disparate treatment of people based on their political affiliations and so forth. And under this administration, like we've never seen before, in addition to the trampling on just basic constitutional rights and constitutional norms, I support Onaluna's efforts to hold him in inherent contempt and to arrest him if he doesn't comply. He does not have the ability to blow off Congress and to refuse to appear. And I'm glad that he's been held in contempt. I think he needs to be held in inherent contempt, support judiciary's lawsuit to that effect, but I think we ought to be going full guns blazing after him. We are the people's representatives. We are the people's appropriate oversight of the executive branch and he's accountable to us. And he so far he has not held himself accountable. And of course, it just shows, again, back to elections having consequences because when you put people in power who will abuse that power, will absolutely abuse that power, as you know, our ability to hold them accountable goes back to his department of injustice and he has no interest in holding himself accountable. And of course, what he's doing is he's protecting the president in this case, president Biden from his culpability in these classified documents investigation that Robert Herr was interviewing him for. And so absolutely I support going after him with every weapon that we have in our arsenal, including on Aluna's motion, as well as the judiciary's lawsuit. - Yeah, I hope we just keep moving with our foot to the pedal as he should be held accountable. We've tapped him here on the show. I don't know if we've ever used the reference with you as the greatest revenge hire in the history of modern politics, obviously huge chip on his shoulder after he wasn't given a chance to get on the Supreme Court bench. Thank God, after we've seen his behavior and misapplication of the law over the course the last three plus years. But the fact of the matter is, is that, you know, he answers to the American people. You guys are the people that hold those administration officials accountable for their constituents. And when he's, you know, kind of thumbing his nose in the face of justice and in the face of Congress, he needs to be held accountable as much as we continue to hope that you guys do a job on that. So last thing I want to talk with you with Congressman, you know, you just are out of a primary race, very tough, close fault battle, less than, I guess, 400 votes total separate you from the person that ran against you in the primary for Virginia five right now. I know you guys are entering what looks like a recount territory and we want you to give our listenership the absolute latest on that. - Well, thanks for asking about that. You know, we are in a recount situation. We will be entering sooner recount situation at about 63,000 ballots cast. We're separated by about 370 votes or so. It's 0.6%. And so we think that the national implications this race has, how it impacts the Commonwealth, our ability to hold this seat. I think the President's ability to win Virginia and then the many people who poured into this race that we deserve, or as we owe it to them rather, to make sure we get it right that it's accurate and true reflection of the intent of the legal, legitimate voters who participated. So we're gonna pursue that recount. We expect the election to be certified as soon as tomorrow. And Virginia doesn't allow you to block certification. You've got to have certification in order to have standing and to challenge it. We will enter a recount fight. We'll also enter a contest for the election. There are some irregularities that we saw. There are some suspicious activities that we saw. There are some concerns that we want to investigate and adjudicate and we're gonna be pursuing that. We're gonna be trying to get a hand count, hand ballot, paper ballot match, hand count, recount. We're hopeful the court will give us that. The judge will give us that. But we're gonna do everything we can to make sure that truth and accuracy is confirmed and everybody should want that. - Now, if people want to get involved both nationally with contributing to your campaign or within District in Virginia 5 and help out in any recall efforts, or I'm sorry, recount efforts that are gonna be coming down the pike. If there's anybody that can get involved in any contest, even if it's with just support online and on social media, how can people go and find links to your congressional website and stuff like that? - Thank you for asking. The recount effort is a separate fund and a separate expense, unfortunately. So we do have to raise the funds for that. They can go to bobgoodforcongress.com/recount all spelled out, bobgoodforcongress.com/recount, help us out. - Absolutely fantastic. And we'll obviously have your congressional website live link in the show description as well. We'll be looking to have you back at some point in later July or early August. The congressman who's representing Virginia 5, he's also the head as the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, representative Bob Goode. Thanks for joining us on the show today, sir.
