AP News. I'm Ed Donahue here. In court today in New York, New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez was convicted of accepting bribes of gold and cash from three businessmen and acting as a foreign agent for the Egyptian government. Obviously I'm deeply, deeply disappointed by the jury's decision. I have every faith that the law and the fact did not sustain that decision and that we will be successful upon appeal. Menendez did not testify at his trial but insisted publicly he was only doing his job as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is calling on Menendez to resign. Nikki Haley is scheduled to speak tonight at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. She was the last candidate to challenge Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination. Meantime, the new GOP ticket is getting ready to hit the campaign trail. Here's the AP saga McGonney. Donald Trump says he and running May JD Vance will appear together at a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan Saturday. It will be their first joint outing since accepting their nominations and Trump's first rally since last weekend's assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. Supporters of a proposal to ask voters to scale back Arkansas's abortion ban sued the state for rejecting their petitions to get the measure on the November ballot. The Secretary of State's Office said the group didn't submit required statements related to the paid signature gatherers it used. The government's retail sales were unchanged in June, defying economic forecasts for a pullback. You may have seen the video of Ingrid Andress singing the National Anthem last night at the MLB All-Star Home Run Derby in Texas. It was off key several times. On Instagram, Andress apologized and said she was drunk. She wrote, "It was not me last night. I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need." Andress is a four time Grammy nominee. MLB is not commenting. This is AP news. Israel has pledged to deliver humanitarian aid under pressure from the U.S. But at the same time, the U.S. and Israel have allowed tax deductible donations to far right groups for a blocked aid to Gaza from being delivered. EU Foreign Policy Chief Jozette Burrell now announces further sanctions against extremist Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem. Today we have adopted further sanctions against these violent settlers, including the organization that calls for attacking the Jordanian convoys. The AP, and the Israeli investigative site Strongwam have found that three groups that have prevented humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, including one accused of looting or destroying supplies, have raised more than $200,000 from donors in the U.S. and Israel. I'm Charles de La Desma. The Israeli military says it will begin sending draft notices to Jewish ultra-orthodox men at Donahue. AP News. Are you tired of city life?
