The Kinahan Cartel Has Cut Host Of Soldiers Off Of It's Payroll Since The Sanctions (7/16/24)

The Kinahan cartel has recently made significant cuts to its payroll, reducing the number of operatives as a response to increased international pressure and sanctions. This decision is part of the cartel's broader strategy to adapt to heightened scrutiny and asset freezes imposed by authorities in the UAE and the U.S. The U.S. sanctions, specifically targeting key members and businesses associated with the cartel, have led to significant financial constraints, prompting the cartel to downsize its operations and reduce costs.

The Kinahan cartel, known for its extensive involvement in drug trafficking and money laundering, has faced increasing challenges due to coordinated efforts by international law enforcement agencies. The sanctions, which have frozen assets and restricted the cartel's ability to conduct business, have forced them to reassess their operational structure. This has resulted in the dismissal of numerous lower-level operatives, often referred to as "soldiers," who were previously employed to carry out the cartel's illicit activities.

Additionally, the cartel's strategic hubs, particularly in Dubai, have come under greater scrutiny, further complicating their ability to operate smoothly. The sanctions have not only impacted the cartel's financial resources but also hindered their logistical capabilities, making it more difficult to maintain a large workforce dedicated to their criminal enterprises.

Ever since the Kinahan cartel was hit with sanctions by the United States of America, the entire playing field has changed for the once dominant cartel. And now, we're getting reports that because of this issue and because of the fact that they're no longer able to conduct business in the regular banking system, they've had to axe a whole bunch of operators who are on their payroll. So when you have to start cutting your saccarios, when you have to start cutting off associates who you are paying, that never ends up well for a criminal organization. Either those people end up in other organizations rivals or, even worse, they end up talking to the police and ratting you out. So you know that the Kinahan cartel is feeling the heat. Now, does that mean that they're going to collapse anytime soon? I doubt it. At least not until all of the Kinahan's are apprehended. And that doesn't seem like it's going to be happening anytime soon. But there's certainly some cracks in the facade. And when you have the situation that the Kinahan cartel is facing, you're gonna be hard pressed. And then we have another article that we're gonna get to later on, talking about Rafael and periali and how he just caught a 15 year stretch for his activities within the Kinahan cartel and the European super cartel. But all of this goes hand in hand. Because if you don't think that in periali gave up the Kinahan cartel, if you don't think he gave up some critical sensitive information to the authorities, you're crazy. Because he should have been going to prison for the rest of his life, right? And he ends up getting a 15 year stretch. Now, don't get me wrong, 15 years, certainly not that I'm interested in. But considering the kind of crime that in periali was allegedly involved in, you would think that he'd be looking at a life sentence. But considering the fact that he is singing a song for the government, for the authorities, well, he got a light sentence, if you will, of only 15 years. And you know, that's never far from the mind of these associates who were running the streets for the Kinahan cartel. And now these associates who have been cut off. Today's article is from the daily Irish mirror and the headline, Daniel Kinahan acts as dozens from his cartel payroll, leaving former key associates in real trouble. This article was authored by Michael O'Toole. And once the money stops, well, that's where the loyalty ends to, right? We're not talking about people who are friends here. These are business associates who are trying to use each other to get a leg up. If you're the Kinahan's and you're the bosses, you're using the street level people to move your product or, you know, make your business a little bit stronger, because they're your muscle or whatever. And then on the flip side of that, these operators, they're using the Kinahan cartel for protection. And so that they can springboard themselves up the chain and gain a little bit of that dough. But now that these guys are being asked, they know that that's not going to happen. So you're going to have a bunch of jaded curmudgeons out there who were one time operators for your cartel. And it's never a good look, and that's why you see a lot of these situations turn bloody. You'll see these associates like they start getting clipped one by one by the cartel because the cartel doesn't want to leave any loose ends. But it doesn't seem like the Kinahan cartels go on that route, and instead, they're just cut and ties. mob boss Daniel Kinahan has abandoned dozens of his lackeys and is no longer paying them, it has emerged. The mirror has established that Kinahan has cut more than 40 associates off the wage bill in Ireland and Spain. Underworld sources say that some of those who face the acts were one time key associates and they are now skint. Some of them are in real trouble and are seriously down on their luck now, a source told us. So when you have somebody who's desperate, right, and they have secrets of the family, they have secrets of the organization, you really think that those people are safe? They are not. Now look, the Kinahan cartel, no doubt about it, is not dropping bodies like they're the Sinaloa cartel, they know better. They can't just start dropping bodies all over Ireland, because that's how they got themselves in this situation. And they understand that very much so. But at what point do you let these associates continue to run around with a grudge or an axe to grind? Investigators believe Kinahan, who turned 47 last month at one stage, had almost 100 people on his payroll in Dublin and the Costa del Sol, but has now drastically trimmed that number of people he gives money to. This understood the mobster, who was holed up and Dubai with his father, Christie, 67, and Christopher 43, cut back his wage bill since the international crackdown on his mob in April of 2022. Well, when you can't use the financial system, the banking system, especially when you were so invested in it like the Kinahan cartel, it's really going to be a gigantic blow to the operation, because remember, it's not only having that money seized, the fact is they can't use the banking system anymore. And anybody that tries to do business with them, they're going to be sanctioned as well. And that's led to the Kinahan cartel getting creative when it comes to finances, using the crypto market and other clandestine ways of moving and attaining money. Because if you can't use the regular banking system, forget it. Remember the whole entire idea of selling these narcotics is to bring that money back and make that money usable for the bosses. And if you can't color that money up, forget it, what's the point? You see the problems not getting the drugs into the countries, the problems getting the money out. So if you're sanctioned and you can't use the banking system, and you don't have an established network the way the Mexican cartels do, you're going to be in a lot of trouble. And that's what the Kinahan's are running into right now. They've never had to navigate this sort of system where they weren't able to use the traditional banking system to move their money. They had a whole laundering system set up where they were able to color it up and get it right back into the system and legitimately use it for purposes of business and otherwise. Now they can't do that. And when you can't do that, it takes a lot of the power away from you, especially when you're reliant on your South American suppliers or suppliers from elsewhere to bring the drugs in. So the Kinahan cartel certainly between a rock and a hard place. That guard-a-led move saw the United States hit the trio and four-leged allies with sanctions, which meant their assets were frozen there and in Dubai, which followed the American lead after a few weeks. Well, we've talked about this, look Dubai, they're not going to play a ball with Ireland, but they're going to play a ball with America. They know the deal, and the last thing they want to do is get on the wrong side here of the DEA, especially because it doesn't really benefit them, right? If it benefited them, well, different story, but it really is not benefiting the people who are running the show in Dubai. Now, there are people locally that have been corrupted by the Kinahan cartel, there's no doubt about it. But when we're talking about, you know, the real power in the country, if it serves their purposes, they will serve the Kinahan's up quick fast. As of now, it just hasn't really served their purposes completely and fully. But what they have done is decided to play a ball at least a little bit, give the appearance that they care. And as well as the Sanctions, America also put a $5 million bounty on each Kinahan's head, although all three are still free men. But underworld sources have now told the mirror that Kinahan, who is in the guard across eras for one feud murder, as well as for directing the cartel that bears his name, has reorganized his affairs since the Sanctions were imposed following a high profile conference in Dublin and Castle in April of 2022. The cartel recruited dozens of extra people onto its wage bill when it started its campaign of revenge following the hutch organized crime group's brazen daylight gun attack on the Regency Airport Hotel in February of 2006 that left key ally David Byrne shot dead and saw Daniel Kinahan himself narrowly survive. Part of the cartel's plan for the feud in which 18 people were murdered between 2015 and 2018 saw the mob paying out thousands of euros a week to people in North inner city Dublin to bribe them into turning on members of the hutch gang. But sources now say following the effective end of the feud and the international crackdown Kinahan has done dozens of his alkalites. He still has a major international crime gang and that means he has foot soldiers in Ireland, Spain and even Dubai, most of whom are paid thousands of euros in hard cash every week. There's no loyalty though. When you have a group of hired killers, a group of hired thugs, it's all fine and well as long as the money is flowing, but when that money stops flowing forget it and what happens if a rival shows up with more dough. So I don't know how much security I'd feel if I was the Kinahan cartel with a bunch of hired guns around me. We all have somewhere we're trying to get to. As the largest energy producer in Colorado, Chevron is working to responsibly meet rising energy demand. So everyone can get to where they want to be. It is Ryan here and I have a question for you what do you do when you win? "Sources say many of those dumped were the lowest wrong of the Kinahan latter and were simply expendable. Most of them were just gillies and underworld source said, so basically just street level actors, right? People out there serving bags or maybe being muscle, something like that, and not actual members of the cartel, but associates of the cartel. So there's different levels to it, right? Not everybody's a member of the Kinahan cartel, just like not everybody's a made man in the mafia. You have people who are associates, people who work with the made men, people who work under the made men, and they're considered the crew. And the same's true here. You have the Kinahan cartel made members if you will, and then you have their associates, and the people that are getting caught off here are the associates. Be that as it may, those associates can still prove to be very, very dangerous. He has ditched a lot of them since that crackdown. They aren't getting any more money out of Daniel. He has definitely reigned in the spending. There are lads who are coming in, Dublin, when the feud was on, but he has cut them out entirely. The same goes for the lads in Spain. He has cut a lot of people out on the payroll in the last 18 months, and it's not just feud related. We don't know if it's him trying to save money or just reorganizing things. Probably both. He's probably trying to do both right now. Look, this is a dangerous time for the Kinahan cartel. And if you're one of their enemies, well, this is the perfect time to strike, but there are plenty of people who are out of the loop and are skint. The sources also revealed that some former key allies of Kinahan, who were in Dubai along with them, also appeared to have been dumped. Several of them, the sources say, have headed back to Spain, where they are based with Kinahan until he moved to Dubai at the height of the feud in early 2017. Sources say those former key players are now based in Malaga, and Estapona areas where Kinahan himself used to be based. Ironically, sources say Jerry the Munk Hutch once the number one target of the cartel is spending more and more time in the same area. Mr. Hutch, 61, was arrested before being extradited to Ireland in September of 2021 to stand trial for the murder of David Byrne, a rap he soundly defeated in the non-Jerry special criminal court in April of 2023. Although he is normally based in Dublin, and Lanza wrote, Mr. Hutch has property in Spain and has been spotted there in recent weeks. And that really just shows you and tells you where things are at with the Kinahan cartel. One of their biggest targets is just running around in Spain, where a bunch of the associates from the Kinahan cartel are also taking up residence. But considering what's going on with the Kinahan cartel, Mr. Hutch feels a bit of security, if you will, considering how hard pressed these guys are with other issues. And we're going to continue to see this, we're going to continue to see the power of the Kinahan cartel erode and the fear that people had of the Kinahan cartel, well it's going to go right along with it. And when that time comes, and the fear is no longer present when it comes to street-level operators, that's when the Kinahan cartel is going to be at its weakest, and when it's going to be the easiest for the government to go in and break them up. And while that time, I don't think is here yet, this is certainly the writing on the wall. And if this continues to happen for the Kinahan cartel, and their power base continues to erode, and there appears to be weakness in the cartel, mark my words that their enemies will pounce. And when I say enemies, I mean the government and other rival organizations. So it's going to be very, very interesting to see how the Kinahan's navigate this new situation, and how they navigate the new normal that they're experiencing. Because up till now, they've been able to keep their head above water, right? But have they thrived? Have they been able to expand? They have not. And I think that that's a trend that we're going to continue to see in the coming months and coming years. And that trend is the Kinahan cartel continue to shrink, continue to decline until eventually the Kinahan's themselves are in custody. And while I don't think we're at that point, I think we're certainly on the path. All right, folks, that's going to do it for this one.
