This podcast is part of the Sports Social Podcast Network. It's the moment of the evening, every kiss, a fan and joys, little down and pour a whiskey, back open the liqueur, please put your hands together and make a little noise for your favorite wild catters, the handsome Bosco boys. Boom, the boys are back in folks. You guys have heard mom pod. You guys have heard dad pod and since there are 17 like sibling days and celebrate your sibling stuff that you see pop up on Facebook, I usually wait for one of these summer episodes to get my little brother on, I guess, you know, I have to call you master Alan, you know, with your master's degree. You've had that for what two years now. That's been about two years. Yeah. I don't know. Well, I'm welcoming on my younger brother, master Alan McFarland for the big 12 road trip episode. I believe did we do big 12 road trip last year? I think we did big 12 last year and then the time before is when we did everything. Yeah. We've done. We've done a national. You retired from that for a while. I did. I don't think the people want to keep hearing from me and because a lot it's kind of hard. You want to see a lot of those same games every year. Yes. And our heads are usually in the right space. So we're going to big 12 and we'll talk about your, you know, your strategy for this or all that type of stuff. The rules of this episode were you could not see any team more than three times. And you had to see everybody once. The one good part that made this a little bit easier. At least I thought it was easier. It is a 14 week season this year, you know, a lot of years. It's only 13 this year and next year it's 14. So when you have 16 teams in a conference and you have to see them all. At least once it does make it easier. I assume this was tougher than it was last year with only 14 teams. Yeah. I'd say it was a little bit tougher. And the thing is you always have your marquee match ups you have in your head. Got to see this. Got to see that. And then you're thinking, okay, some of those other teams are like, ooh, that was a good game for a lower tier, big 12 team in my head. So there were some moving pieces, but for the most part, I like the way it turned out. Yeah. So how many of those marquee games did you have and we can talk about when they pop up? Because when I went through this, there were six games, five games, I was like, okay, I'm going to see them and I put them in before anything else. And I just bolded them and I said, all right, I'm not touching these. So I had five. How many did you have? You're like, I'm not touching. I had four before I was even looking at what the weeks were. Yeah. So it should be fun. It should be fun. I will say, you know, this will be the last episode, I always use these almost, this show almost as a personal time capsule. This will be the last time you come on most likely unless there's a reason for you to come on in the next month before I'm an uncle, which is the most important thing. Who cares about anything else? But you're going to have your first child, you and your beautiful wife, Andrea. How great of an uncle on a scale one to 10, do you think I'm going to be? Oh, you're going to be a lecturer. You're going to be a 10. You're the best uncle. You'll be the uncle trying to convince them to be a K state fan. Probably the cool uncle they want to go hang out with. Go to Kansas City. Go to some sporting games, some Royals games. I'm sure you'll do a good job of spoiling the baby. Yeah. So I will do my best shot. We'll see how Chauncey treats the baby. Yeah. They'll have their first interaction. I'm sure what it'll be probably before Thanksgiving, maybe September, October, it'll be a fun little matchup. We'll see how it goes. Single leg coming. I won't get into the details, but I'm pretty sure their first interaction, there's a chance it might be in September and I won't be there. So I think there's a scenario in which baby is going to be with mom and dad and so is Chauncey. Okay. That'll be a fun crew. We may need to manufacture a meeting before that, but we'll see. Yeah, for sure. We'll cross that bridge when it comes. So we'll get into this. I'm looking forward to it, 14 weeks of big 12 play, again, got to see everyone can't see anyone more than three times. There was no week zero. So if we do this next year, you'll have the chance to go to Ireland metaphorically with me to see farm again, but no week zero this year, I don't believe. So let's get into week one. This was not a lock for me, but it was like a tier two game. So I'm curious if we ended up in the same spot. Do you want to go first? You want me to go first? We'll let you go first for the first four weeks, you'll go first. So what do you have in week one? Okay. So obviously we're in non con land. I'll talk about maybe some teams I thought about, but I'm going the Friday night game against TCU at Stanford. I looked a lot of these matchups. I know there's one. You probably did not pick that one, but I thought, you know what? I'll go to California. I have like these weird memories of like these games at night, like Christian McCaffrey, like when Stanford was really good, Andrew Luck, and I kind of wanted to see that type of environment. And when I was doing this, I completely forgot with so much conference realignment. Stanford's in ACC, I completely forgot. I knew they weren't pack 12, but I really could not remember where they went. So I'm crossing off an ACC matchup early on in the season. So I was talking to my buddy Parker, who is a TCU fan. He's a TCU graduate. And I said, he tweeted out TCU schedule and I was like, go back to like 2006 and show this schedule to a horn frog fan and say, you're in the big 12 and you're playing two ACC teams in the non con because they're playing SMU, which was one of my honorable mentions. I'm not going to see them play SMU, but SM using the ACC, Stanford's in the ACC. And then you have like UCF and Houston and Utah, all in the big 12, Cincinnati, Arizona. Like if you go back and try to convince someone in 2006 that they're playing two ACC teams in their non con and that's the big 12, that TCU fan would have a stroke. Oh, yeah. No clue. Yeah. I have been in at that Stanford stadium. By the way, I saw Christian McCaffrey beat K state to open the season. There will be no one there. So you'd be able to get a pretty cheap ticket, but it is a beautiful campus. So that that is a good one. I went with West Virginia hosting Penn State, the first big noon kickoff of the season. And I went with that one because that could be a marquee game for the big 12. I don't think Penn State is going to struggle. I think West Virginia is going to get their ass kicked a little bit. But if West Virginia were to pull off that upset, that would be massive for the big 12. And when I'm looking at it, I think that is probably one of the better matchups. If you're looking at for like two high quality teams, not a massive West Virginia believer, but that that was a pretty easy one. I will say the number two game on my schedule though, was South Dakota State Oklahoma State because the jackrabbits are like two time FCS champions. That game could be a little hairy for Oklahoma State. Oh, yeah. And one did you hear another one for me was that North Dakota State Colorado. And I'm sure we'll talk a lot of Colorado as time goes on, but like how prime was already setting up the long little scared for them, I would love them to lose that first game would be very hilarious. Yeah. So Phillip Slavin of the 10 12 network, who I think I did the big 12 road trip with him two years ago, last year he did the regular road trip. He likes to make up his own rules because the other rule is, I don't think I said this, I was like, you have to pick one game a week. He would have tried to, you know, see the Colorado, North Dakota State, he'd try to, you know, throw in TCU Stanford and a game on Saturday. That one will be interesting, but, but it's not the North Dakota state of old, you know, they're still good. They're still a FCS top 15 team, but they're not going to be, you know, making a deep run. But I will say you, you pointed that out. If they do lose that game, just mail it in. Just mail it in. Yeah. All right. That if they lost that game, that would affect kind of the rest of my schedule. But once again, we'll get there as we get going. Yeah. So would that have been your number two game? It was up there. Um, you know, KU Lindenwood, the reason is sport and KC, I want to see the football game in that stadium, that environment would be fun. First time we're seeing Jalen Daniels back, healthy, you know, a very excited KU group. But same thing. I'll talk about the Jayhawks a little bit later. Well, and also Lindenwood, they were playing Washburn, like five dogs dogs. They're on the come up. Watch out. KU's going to score like 80 in that one. We'll go to week two again. I think this was a good week. This is one that I struggled with. I went back and forth on a couple different games, so I'm curious where you landed for week two. Yeah. So I looked at these matchups. A lot of good ones. It was kind of hard, but I kind of went backwards like last year. I wanted to see a former student. I wanted to see a former player of mine play last year. I did Sam Houston. Got to see Qualcomm freeze this year. I'm going to go Houston at Oklahoma. I think a lot of the listeners would be familiar with Michael Boginowski, Hadamard class, Hadamard on the basketball team. Great kid. Ended up choosing Oklahoma over K-State and KU and some others, but I want to go see him play. I think it's also kind of a big, another big matchup for the big 12, because you look at Houston once again, not big on my radar, but like if they could be competitive with Oklahoma, a team that just left, supposedly supposed to be a top tier SEC team, it's like, I think that'd be a very good look for the conference if we can keep that least kind of competitive. Yeah. No, that's a good one. I went with Colorado and Nebraska. That's an old big eight, probably a big 12 North rivalry, and that's kind of one I'm circling because look, I think Matt rules a good coach. I think Nebraska is going to be looking for a little bit of revenge after losing last year with Colorado, right? Yeah, because Colorado beat them and TCU on the road in Colorado State. So I think that's going to be a fun atmosphere. I think they're going to be out for blood again. That's another one where, okay, if Colorado wins that, that could set the big 12 up for something good. And I think that's going to be the best atmosphere, but week two is the good week for the conference. So you look top to bottom, BYU, SMU, K-State having to go on the road to Tulane, Arkansas coming to Stillwater pit, going to Cincinnati, you got El Aceco, Iowa State going to Iowa, Baylor, Utah, Albany, West Virginia. That sucks. Sam Houston, UCF. That sucks. KU going up to Champaign, Illinois, I think KU wins that handily, but I talked about it Colorado, Nebraska. You're saying Houston, Oklahoma, Long Island, TCU, who cares, Northern Arizona, Arizona, who cares. Two super late games, Texas Tech Washington State and Mississippi State, Arizona State. Again, I think this is the best of the non-conference weeks, don't you think? Yeah, no, I'd agree. A lot of good matchups. And like I said, they're handful, they're not really interesting, but yeah, you got some nice night's light games, the early slate will be good. It's getting Arkansas, Oklahoma State, like, I don't know, it's going to be a good week. That's going to be a great football watching weekend for me. Again, you get that Friday game, hopefully K-State beats Tulane, but I can't take that game for, you know, a certainty. But if you take care of that, you know, you have Arkansas, Oklahoma State on the second screen and then you have a bunch of great football. What was your number two game that week if you had, or were you just like, no, I can see Boganowski. This is where I'm going. Didn't think about anything else. That was obviously the choice because I, like I said, want to make that connection. But Iowa State is something I like to do every year too, because I think I've done them in the past. But so that felt a little bad leaving that off, but, you know, it was good to mix it up a little bit. For Nebraska, the reason I didn't really lean towards that was because there were some other match ups with Colorado was kind of looking at. All right. Let's get to week three. This is the first one I had a non-negotiable. I'll be interested if this was one for you as well. What is your week three game? Yeah. I think I know your game, but I won't spoil it for you all. You have that. So we're not on the same page. I'm going West Virginia at Pitt, going backyard brawl, I think two years ago, or maybe when we did this, the game at Pittsburgh, the first time it came back from 2011 was electric. I think the environment in Pittsburgh, not calling out West Virginia, but it's a little bit better. So I think seeing that game there, I disagree. I think it's better at West Virginia because if you're talking about just West Virginia, I think it might have been more fun in Pittsburgh because there were so many West Virginia fans there. And that might have been the case. Yeah. And that might have been the case. I was watching it on TV the first time back and I was like, "Oh my goodness." I kind of didn't even think about it as a rivalry because once again, I'm not dealing with that coast up there. So it's like, "Okay. This is legit." So I wanted to go watch that. But the one that you're about to pick was right the second pick because I think this is huge for the beginning of the big 12. Well, at least I think I know where you're going. Well, did you think I was going to pick K-State in Arizona? Are you not going there? No. I'm picking West Virginia, Pitt. That's one of the most hated rivalries and that is like a full-on knot. Again, I would love to see K-State Arizona. I think that could be a top 20 matchup early in the season. But when you talk college football, when you talk pure hatred, that has to be one of those games. I think it's on the same tier as the Sunflower showdown. I think it's on the same tier as Farmageddon. I think it's on the same tier as the border war, KU Missouri. I think that that is truly one of the best rivalries in all of college football. Okay. Wow. I was thinking K-State Arizona all day. Well, no, I'm not. So I didn't really look too much at the schedule, but I'm pulling it up and kind of going along. Both of our teams playing on a Friday night, which I think it's kind of douchey by ESPN to put you guys on the same night, but hey, you got to do what you got to do. But if you go to the Saturday, it's like Miami versus Cincinnati, both in Ohio, North Texas versus Texas Tech, both in Texas, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Utah, Utah State, Colorado, Colorado State, Rice and Houston. You get a lot of kind of big school, small school right there in the same state. I think that's going to provide for a really fun weekend. A lot of teams hoping they don't get upset, but no, I'm going to be at, I think it's the black diamond trophy or the some sort of trophy. I don't know. That's like one of the best rivalries, I think in all the college football. All right. So there's one we're going to. Yeah. We're at the same one. This one is another one of my nonnegotiables. I'll be interested if our brain wave is on the same length. So what do you have for week four? Yeah. I think that some people could potentially see this being a future big 12 championship game. I think a team coming in who is preceded the top dog of the non big 12 now joining the big 12. And then some saying, you know, this is kind of the top dog left. I think K state can be argued with that as well, but it's, it's Utah, Oklahoma State, Boon picking stadium. I got to go there last year, watch KU play. The orange on that field is like toxic electric orange, like you walk in the stadium and you look at that orange. It doesn't even look real. It like hurt my eyes for the first like five minutes. Like this isn't real, but it's a cool stadium. Utah coming in, Oklahoma State. I wasn't super impressed with their environment, but once again, it's Kansas. So I'm sure this Utah game will be in a huge matchup. Yeah. Did we go back to back weeks where we both had less than stellar experiences and still water? Yes. It was not a good place. Yeah. Kansas last year. Yeah. McFarland should not be going to keep him picking same. I'm going there as well. I think this is maybe the game of the year and the big 12. I think this is the only game where if you look at Utah schedule, I think that's the big one on their schedule. Oklahoma State has to come to K State, but I think that this one is, if not the game of the year, it could be one of the biggest and that was another one that didn't think about anyone else. You know, TCU, SMU could be cool, but when you look at this week, even if there were some better games, I think this is locked in as maybe the game of the year for the conference. Yeah. No, I'd agree with that. The board says this is the only game Utah should not be favorites in, although bet ESPN currently has Utah as a one and a half point favorite. So it's going to be a tight game. Before we keep going, first sponsor break, this show is brought to you by Charlie Hussle. Both of us are rocking. Charlie Hussle right now. I have something from their Kansas City baseball collection. You have their Jalen Daniels NILT. It doesn't matter which big 12 team you cheer for, Charlie Hussle has you covered. They just dropped a great range for all the new schools coming into the conference. They just had a great big eight road show. I'm waiting for the green big eight t-shirt to get back in stock. I'm going to purchase that right away. Charlie Hussle's where it's at, whether you're shopping online at charlie hustle.com or in Kansas City at their different retail locations. Shop Charlie Hussle today. All right, we're getting into the next one. This is the first one where it really was a filler for me. I got to the end of the exercise. I went through it and we'll maybe talk about strategies later. I kind of talked about mine already, but I got to the end and I went through and there were two teams that I didn't pick a game and I'm like, oh, man. So I had to go through, I had to cut some games, I had to find some filler. I really desperately, there was two games I really, really wanted to go to, but I couldn't make it work. So instead I'm going down to Lubbock, Texas to see Cincinnati. I actually really like Lubbock, Texas. I know, I don't think you've been there yet and I know Lubbock gets a bad rep. It's tough to get to. It's a pain to get to, but I like the city. The stadium is pretty decent, pretty good atmosphere. I know they just did a big renovation. You get tortillas flying everywhere. So that's kind of the game where I'm like, okay, I get to see a fun atmosphere and see Cincinnati, Texas tech. I don't think Cincinnati is going to be any good. I think Sadr's Field, they should fire him and this is only year two for them. So this was a sacrificial lamb week for me. Yeah, make it three in a row. I'm going there as well. We're going to the land of Patrick Mahomes. I thought it was so cool. Like the amount of power that that individual has at that university, when they switch from underarm or to Adidas, and I'm sure there's some other works in it, but let's be honest, it's Patrick Mahomes driving that wheel. So I thought it was kind of cool to go there, you know, I don't know when the Chiefs play. Maybe he'll be there. Maybe I'll run into him. He'll be there with Travis Kelsey. You never know. There's the connection there, but what happened? That is a good connection. When I was there, when I was at the K state, Texas tech game, I went with Casey, we drove from liberal. So I drove from Kansas city to liberal and liberal to love it. It was a lot of hours in the car in their student section, because we were right behind their student section, it was maybe 10 to 15% of the students were running Patrick Mahomes jerseys. And there's a love exports talk station that carries every single chiefs football game, all because of Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, I mean, he's the king, man. So I was at a similar Hey, I just have to find a place to see since Texas Tech or how did you come to that one? That was the filler. I think there's three fillers in my list. If I'm looking through right now, there was like, okay, I need to crank this out, get it done. I went to Cincinnati with Andrea last year and did a lot of different things around that area. But it was good time. You know, Cincinnati fans were nice skyline chilies electric don't let anybody on Twitter fool you. I love it all. So obviously not insency, but yeah, just cross off since the cross off tech move on. I wanted to see, you know, K state, Oklahoma state, I think Arizona, Utah could be a good one. I think Colorado at UCF also will that will tell us everything we need to know about Colorado. But those are some of the ones I thought about. We'll go to week six now, week six for me. This was one where it wasn't a non negotiable, but it was pretty high up on my list. This is probably a tier two game for me. It's a in October non conference game UCF at Florida in Gainesville. I see you nodding your head just four straight weeks are we running into that same trap that we used to and we're brothers and we're picking all the same games. We're going to the swamp together for straight. Yeah. No, when you look at the other matchups, you see, like there's nothing that stands off on the paper. So being able to go SEC October, go to the swamp and making a lot of connections into old video games. Like I love going and playing at the swamp when Tim Tebow was there, upsetting them, beating them. But it's a good little matchup again, that's a super light week. So there's what there's six total big 12 games. So four teams are on buys. So it is an easy one again, nothing really on there really struck me Texas Tech Arizona could be good if those teams live up to their potential, but it's a pretty easy one. The next one is an even lighter week, one, two, three, four, five games, only five games and you want me to go screwed everything up. Uh oh. I think I think I screwed things up. Uh oh. Did you not pick a game this week? Well, so I had on my list. I had on my list, uh, Houston TCU and I, and that's a week eight game show man. Everyone is now seeing me make the biggest mistake in my podcast history. You please pick a game and I'm going to have to pick something here on the fly and see what that does to my, uh, uh oh, have to change everything. If that's the biggest podcast and mistake you made then that a pretty good career. So here is, here is a peak behind, uh, peak behind the curtain. That was going to be the only time I see Houston. So I am going to have to now get a little creative. So you go ahead and I'm going to pick something else. Yeah, for sure. So the matchup I went for, um, I'm going Arizona at BYU. I don't know if I did this with this exercise last year, but I really wanted to go see a game in BYU, um, electric environment, um, it's going to be something I talk about with the next game that I choose as well. But the big 12 home games that BYU has, if you're a student at BYU, you could not be more excited. You get KSU, you get Arizona, you get OSU and you get, once again, you know, being KU guy and you get KU coming there as well. So in my head, you have four of probably the top six, big 12 teams coming to your house. And this is what kind of kicks that I think K-State played in the week before, right? Uh, K-State Colorado is, uh, oh no, are you saying K-State BYU? K-State BYU. Yeah. I think that's the week before. Was that right? K-State BYU is... Oh, maybe that's a few weeks back. Week four. Okay. Yeah. Okay. So what it is is there's this long slate of these home games that BYU has. And this is the second pretty big one. So I want to go there, watch that game and, uh, get an environment. I want to go to Utah. So I, um, I want to, uh, I kind of want to pick that game, um, because it would make everything easier for me. I am going on the fly here, uh, and I am making a change. And I am for the first time seeing K-State and we're going to Colorado. We're going to Boulder. Yep. So, so that is, that becomes Colorado becomes a three team, uh, event for me right now. Wow. Um, you love Dion. Yes. So I'm seeing them with, uh, Nebraska, seeing them with K-State and, um, might, well, maybe not cause now I am now doing this entire podcast on the fly because of an air by me. So, uh, yeah, so I'm, I'm seeing K-State Colorado. I'm going to that game, um, at least that's the plan. I haven't bought tickets or anything yet, but my plan is to go there. Um, you hear horror stories, um, from Wing, Colorado was in the conference, uh, beforehand and that they were just like the worst fans. And I kind of want to experience that. I want to experience the hype around Dion, Dylan Edwards, going back, uh, fun backdrop. You get to see Ralphie running on the field. Um, so I think that could be a really fun game and, uh, yeah. And I think, I think that's maybe the most hyped away game amongst the K-State players because everyone wants to beat Dion, everyone wants to beat should their, everyone wants to beat Travis Hunter. Uh, so, so yeah, I, the audible is I'm going to K-State Colorado. That's a good audible. You're, you're going to have to go back, go next, uh, for week eight. What do you got? Yeah. No, I'll go first. However long you want me to go. So what I've decided and it's a little bit hard, I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying in Provo. Not going anywhere. I'm going back to back weeks and BYU it's going to be electric. So on Friday, Oklahoma State goes to BYU. So as I said, just previously, they have a lot of great home games. They have a great student body, great environment. There are definitely some games. I look at the schedule and like, okay, this could be fun. That could be all right. But you know, that might be one of the best matchups in the big 12. So I'm just going to stay there for a week, save on some airfare, make some friends in Utah, she needs moving to Boston so I don't have a connection, but I'm sure I could find one. I'll be all right. So we're staying. Oklahoma State at BYU. There you go. So due to my, due to my poor planning, the only spot where it makes sense now to see Arizona State is Arizona State at Cincinnati. So now Cincinnati gets upgraded to being a two team. Um, looking back at week five, how would I change it? I can't change it. Now, because it is now cemented. But if I had to do it over, honestly, if I had to do it over, I would probably week five see K UTCU and Arrowhead, um, upgrading KU to a two, both teams to a two, uh, two team. But look, I'm a man of honor. I am a man of principle. And because I did make a mistake when running through this exercise and not double checking my work, um, I am going to see Arizona State at Cincinnati, quite possibly the assiest game in the conference of the entire year. I think it might be the worst game of the year. That could be the bottom two. But once again, back to what we said, you got to get some skyline chili. Hopefully it's a nice, cool, crisp Cincinnati night, nipper looks like a cool stadium. It's like right there on their campus, right? Yeah. When we were trying to find like, well, there were some bars kind of close to campus, but like it's just right there. It's a cool environment. But once again, you know, Cincinnati, a little bit down, not as exciting as it probably was, you know, a couple of years ago. Awesome. Before you and I talk about, uh, what I imagine was the number one game on both of our schedules. We're going to give a shout out to Manhattan Brewing Company. I know you love Manhattan Brewing Company being right there in the happiest place in America. Manhattan, Kansas. Folks, if you haven't, again, I'm plugging it. This entire week, but if you have it, go back and listen to the episode from last Wednesday, where I talked with Jake, the owner of Manhattan Brewing Company and he walks me through the vision that he had for Manhattan Brewing Company and how he executed on it. He also teases a lot of big time beer releases coming this fall, as well as a lot of fun really, uh, events that are going to be happening all football season long. Manhattan Brewing Company is the best. Guess what? Even if you don't like beer, they have cocktails on tap. They have a great program with bullet bourbon. So if you're a bullet fan, get in there. They have food trucks, they have events going on in the alley. All sorts of fun stuff. And if you're not following Manhattan Brewing Company on Twitter, you run the risk of missing some great news on releases and events, Manhattan Brewing Company, simply the best. I know you love Manhattan Brewing Company. Oh, yeah. Always a good place to go. Grab a beer. Hang out. Good vibes. Yes. Great vibes. Yeah. I mean, look, we'll go back to I'll go first unless I find out that I screwed something else up. Yeah, we're going to BYU at UCF, right? Yeah, exactly. We are saying BYU versus UCF, no, it's, it's the sunflower showdown and this was the game I believe almost every year when we were doing the entire road trip, you chose that game. Most of the time I did as well, sometimes I'd pick farm to get in, but I feel like after last year and I will spare you from having to talk about the game last year, but I feel like this has to be one of the most hyped. This game is again, assuming health for KU, which, you know, I don't know. I mean, Jalen, great quarterback, kind of a glass boy, but if he's healthy, if KU has the type of season that they are envisioning, if K states having the sort of season that I'm envisioning, this could be a top 15, top 20 matchup. It could have Arlington implications. Again, KU fans probably think next year could be a chance for them. I think this might be the last best chance for a while because you guys are losing a lot of supporting stuff, even if Jalen Daniels comes back for the new stadium next year. But I think this is going to be electric. I think this has the potential to be one of the big 12 games of the year. I think this has the potential to be one of the college football games of the year if the teams live up to the preseason hype. Yeah, no, I agree with that. Obviously, we're both going some far showed and we'll both be there as well. The thing I like about this matchup is week nine, so it's a little bit earlier on in the season. So I think there's a chance that, you know, K state could go in undefeated. The Hawks could go in undefeated. I think at most for both of us, we're maybe looking at one loss to two maybe. So I was thinking top 15 top 10 match up college game day hasn't been to K state in a very long time. I was kind of looking at some of the other games with some of my buddies and some realistic options. So I think the hype around that game, I know on both sides are looking at it, obviously the importance of winning that game, getting the governor's cup. It's an exciting time. It's in Manhattan. I live a couple of minutes away from the stadium. So I'm excited to have some of my friends come up. We already secured tickets a while ago. I've made the mistake in the past. Whenever KU comes to town, if it's football or basketball, if you don't buy immediately, the number just goes up. It gets ridiculous. So we got them at pretty good prices, excited to go there. Um, yeah, last year was a tough one. I from a Hawks perspective, you know, uh, well, and for my perspective, I left my keys in my car and had to walk two miles round trip twice pregame to pregame, pregame, we got a little work on him pregame. So no, it's going to be exciting matchup. You know, I think the Hawks be able to get it. I think one thing that you said, you know, talked about like maybe one good last chance. I think Lance Leipold is an amazing coach. I think even though we're going to lose ever, I'm not saying that chance forever. I'm just saying immediate future. Yeah. No, I get that. But the way that I view this and I think people can disagree, whatever I think Lance Leipold is going to have us in this game every year. Doesn't matter who's returning or whatever, it could be a cool baller might be charted out there in Manhattan. I still think we're going to have a good shot to compete and win that game. All right. Well, might have to get you on and get some odds, but to your point, possible college game day again, I don't watch college game day mornings are for the arts and for watching European soccer. But if you look at the big 10, like, I mean, what Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Michigan. Michigan State's going to suck. Michigan might stock Nebraska Ohio State. That one might be dicey because if Nebraska beats Colorado, they might be undefeated going into that one. That one might be tough, but nothing else too crazy. SEC nothing special. Yeah. Is there anything that ACC is Ohio State, Michigan, at Ohio State this year, or Michigan? Because they always go to that game. That would be the because they're not going to go to Ohio State twice, right? Although see the fighting will Howard's if he's even still the starting quarterback back by then. I don't know. I don't know if they'll go see them twice, but also with Fox completely 100% owning the big 10 and then leasing out games to NBC and CBS. I don't know if they're going to necessarily go there. So I think, you know, especially if that might be like a 7 p.m. ESPN game case eight KU, you might be seeing college game day that that could be wild. I wouldn't go. I have no interest in actually going to college game day, but it would be cool. Like Missouri, Alabama. I mean, again, Missouri has a soft schedule, Oklahoma Ole Miss, I don't know. So yeah, if both teams live up to the hype, that might be that might be college game day. So it'll be fun to follow along with. We'll go next two week 10 and now I have to make sure that I what I put in there was correct. It's another light week. Looks like only five games originally, I thought about case eight Houston because I need a Houston game, but I found one of those later in the season. I'm going to the blue bonnet bowl, which they hate that name. It used to be called the revivory, but it's TCU Baylor in Waco. I thought that was probably the best spot for that game. So that's where I'm going. Yep. I'm going there too. I see it as a week game and kind of a week's like week 10 is just kind of rough. So go there. Have fun. I remember you back your freshman year at K state going to Waco. So never been still. It's kind of been on that list, but I'll get there someday. KU haven't been to the new stadium. I don't love Waco. That was a filler week. That's the only time I'm seeing either of those two teams with my new version of the schedule. So yep, the next one is another one of my non negotiable. I'm going to the holy war up in Salt Lake City. Are you there as well? I'm not there. Oh, so we're finally this is one of the few times that we're we're not in the same spot. Where are you going? So this is, you know, K UI with state would be fantastic. I think that's going to fill up Arrowhead very well. Iowa state is going to make that look like a big 12 championship game. I know they're all going to show up and it'll be a good environment, but I kind of had to go filler again because I needed to cross off some teams. So I'm doing UCF at Arizona state. Another filler. I'm just going to go hang out in Arizona. The sun devil is kind of sick. It's $16 to get in right now. So I'm going to go get my tan on in November. Well, at least you're only seeing Arizona state want. Well, I guess I'm only seeing Arizona state once. I'm having to see Cincinnati twice know that that's a that's a good one. I do think if Iowa state is having the season, they think they are. I don't I think there's a better chance Iowa state finishes five and seven than them getting to Arlington. So if they're having the type of schedule they think they're going to, you're right. There might be 30,000 Iowa state fans in Arrowhead. So I'm surprised. I thought there were two games, but hey, you know, you're seeing everyone. So good for you. So under the Holy War, that is one of my non-negotiables. Cam rising went on BYU TV during media days. And he said that he's going to kick BYU's ass, but your first thing, ass on BYU TV and second, you know, rivalry. But I think I think that's one of the best rivalries in the conference, one of the best rivalries in the country. So I'm going to go see it. I do think he's right though. I do think he's going to. I do think that he's going to kick BYU's ass. Oh, at Utah too. Yeah. It's in Salt Lake City. Oh, yeah. That's circled for me to go to next year. Yeah. That'll be a good one. All right. So let's go now to week 12. This is where I had to make a change on the fly. And this is the only time I'm seeing Houston play. So this is a filler week for me. I'm going to Houston at Arizona. Late night. Yeah. Maybe at this point in the season, yeah, and it's on a Friday. Maybe in this point in the season, Willie Fritz has something up his sleeve. I think he's a good coach. He's from right down the road from me. He grew up in Shawnee played and got his coaching start Shawnee mission north west, you know, just a mile from me right here. So I'm going to go cheer for Willie Fritz on the road to Arizona. What do you got? So I'm going to Colorado for the first time. Utah, Colorado. And probably once again, besides case state, one of their most hyped matchups, I think in the head of Shader Sanders, Travis Hunter, their whole team, like they're thinking at this point, it's like, okay, here's the statement when very clearly they could have imploded by this point. But if Colorado is going to be, I don't even know, like I said, there's going to be something real about them. Like this is going to be a huge matchup for them. So and I want to go to Colorado. When I was doing this exercise, I looked up some pictures of their stadium and you already kind of described it. I just think it'd be a fun environment to go watch a game. And they're, I, you know, when they say like you show, like you show an image or like a jersey, what's the first name that comes to mind? So when you think Colorado football, what's the first thing you think of? I'll tell you what I, what I have. Well, so I first person, oh, so person because I was a player, it doesn't matter. I was going to go with, uh, no, I was going to go with the Buffalo, like, okay, the fucking charge. Oh, no, I said the effort on the podcast for the first time all year. Oh, you did. Oops. But I think of running, but if I'm thinking of a player, I honestly, what I think of is I think back to highlights of Port El Stewart, because again, Colorado, for the most part, they were really good when we were young, but it was still before, you know, you're remembering everything. But I don't remember, you know, any of their great players from like the mid to late 90s. So I just think of seeing, you know, highlights of Cordell Stewart at Colorado. Do you know who lives rent free in my mind, Cody Hawkins, Cody Hawkins? I do not know why. Maybe it's because it's like the heyday of KU and like the late 2000s, but like Cody Hawkins just lives rent free in my mind. I have no clue why, but when I think of Colorado, I think about him and his dad was the coach. Yeah. Well, wasn't he on the team like, wasn't it like before you guys beat Texas on the road a few years ago? Wasn't it at Colorado in like 2008, the last road, big 12 game, you guys had one? Yeah, something like that or not. I don't remember. Wacked it out. But no, Cody Hawkins just lives rent free. Oh, no clue why, but he's yes. Yeah. It's a good one. That's way better than mine. That's great. That's great. All right. Let's go to week 13 as we're wrapping things up, getting close to wrapping things up. I'll let you go first. I've been going first quite a bit. Yeah. So this is the second time. I think this happens. I see BYU two times and are all see Colorado two times now, but it's going to be. Hey, you senior night. It's going to be at Arrowhead. So that'll be the first time I get to go there during this road trip. Senior night means a lot, especially a lot of those guys that have been through this program for so long. You know, you got your Devin Neil's. We got all of our wide receivers, some people on the defensive end, potentially Jalen Daniels last game. And once again, my hopes of looking at this part in the season, it's like, okay, what does this mean for the big 12 championship? What does this mean for potential college football playoff or just once again, having a solid nine, 10 win season and, you know, just getting K football back on track. So, and I once again, back to what you said, I'm not going to say Colorado's are super bold. Really pissed me off when I don't know if it was Shader or Dion said that because that's not the way I like, I want to beat him because of the way they're like, cocky. It's like not a super bowl. There's four more games more important on our schedule than that, but it's just like, okay, you're not what you think you are. Let's take care of business and move on. So I talked about this on Monday on the show. I actually agreed that because of Shader who said that said that, hey, we're everyone's super bowl. Now, are they the number one team on everyone's list? No, for sure. Like even for K state, they're maybe, you know, three or four at best. But the way they talk and all the attention they get, everyone circles that game. And I think that's so stupid for them to play into. They're not good enough to act like that because here's the thing. If Colorado was going to go to a bowl game, don't you think they'd have to sneak up on some folks? Oh, yeah. Like maybe. Yeah. What was their record last year? They got four wins, four and eight, four and eight and they're saying Shader is the best quarterback in the nation, and they went four and eight last year. It's fine. We don't have to get. We're not caught out of pocket. No, we're not. And I think Shader is good. And I think Travis Hunter is great, but I mean, I just, yeah, they are not nearly good enough to talk as much as they do. My game though, I'm going to Texas Tech versus Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Again, I see Oklahoma State early. This is a game that both of those schools are trying to turn into their marquee big 12 rivalry. I think it got labeled as a rivalry in NCAA football, which I'm now kind of back on the I don't know if I'm going to buy it. I've seen everyone playing it and I'm like, Oh, I don't, I'm not like having FOMO. I'm not like thinking I'm missing out. So maybe I'm back to not buying it or maybe if I do, I'll do it in August if I feel the itch, but I don't know, going back and forth. But I think that's a game that Texas Tech and Oklahoma State fans are going to try to turn into their big rivalry because for Texas Tech, it was Texas, even though they were probably like number three or four at best for Texas and Oklahoma State, it was Oklahoma. So I think they're trying to find a simpatico like, Hey, we both lost our big rival. Let's just hate each other. So I think that could be a fun game and look, I don't think Texas Tech is going to be an Arlington contender, but they could be spicy enough to pull off an upset late. So that's where I'm going the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Very nice. All right. And let's wrap things up. And I think this is a big week, but it was a non negotiable for me. I'm interested where you're going. Where's your final game of the season? Come on. You know where I'm going. We're going to Jack tries. We're going to go see the blackout. You know, I will stay ready to go. That game last year was wild. We were watching that before going to KU Cincinnati and like, I can't even imagine the thoughts and feeling from like a K state perspective, because I was watching just as a fan, like just gutted just the way that the way that that game was going down. So I think K state goes in there, it just kills them, but I get far again. You have to go. Yeah. There are some fun games, I think Arizona, Arizona State can be fun. Utah, UCF, Colorado, Oklahoma State, I think a lot of fun games, but that's where I'm going. And you talk about watching that game and being devastated. I drove with Matt and Heather in my car. It took me driving to Manhattan, probably two and a half hours on a drive that usually take 45 minutes, coming home, it was three and a half hours. It was disgusting. It was dangerous. And it was the most maddening game ever. If K state wins that game, people will look back and be like, Oh man, you know, I was there and people would be lying about being there. I want to lie about risking my life to go see that mess. Oh my gosh. So that's on the list. I don't know if I will actually go in person. It'll probably depend on K state season and of course the weather. I think that was also the game that made me realize, okay, I don't need to be risking my life to drive in snow and ice in a blizzard in my 2012 Ford Fusion. If there's a car dealership out there that wants to give me a Ford Bronco, please give it to me and I'll drive through all the snow. There we go. But yeah, that was devastating. One of just the dumbest games of all time. So I hope we kick their ass. Yeah. I know I got to catch that game, but have you know the hype that Jack tries? I haven't. Another thing I had on the list. And I wanted to go last year ended up being a great game for the Hawks, but wasn't able to kind of get it in there. But I want to go. Their fans are annoying. They put that stupid siren. The stadium sucks, but you know, a corn guy. Yeah. Not a corn guy. Depending on case that's going to draw, I might go. It's an easy trip from Kansas City as long as there's no snow and ice. So that's what the road trip is. I'll recap mine week one Penn State at West Virginia, week two Colorado at Nebraska, week three West Virginia at hit week four Utah at Oklahoma State, week five Cincinnati at Texas Tech, which God in hindsight, oh well, UCF. Florida. That's what I'm excited about. K-State Colorado. And this is where I really screwed up. I somehow due to my own errors and judgment. Arizona stayed at Cincinnati. Skyline chili. Of course, the sunflower showdown on week nine, the blue bonnet battle bowl, whatever the revival re T.C.U. Baylor, Holy War, BYU, Utah, Houston at Arizona as kind of a filler Texas that at Oklahoma State, the Dust Bowl, maybe, maybe call that the Dust Bowl and then farm again in week 14. I saw a case state three times. I saw Oklahoma State, Utah, Colorado, West Virginia, Texas Tech, and Cincinnati all twice. T.C.U. K.U. Iowa State Baylor, Arizona, Arizona State Baylor. I said BYU earlier, BYU, Baylor, Houston, UCF all one time and I said the F word. What a shambolic podcast for me. What a show. I'm not going to repeat mine, but I will say this. We went seven out of 14 going to the same place. So 50%, not too bad. Yeah. I think that's bound to happen, but it is what it is. All right. That's all we have. If you want to go through this exercise, tweet me your big 12 dream road show. If it follows the rules, you see everyone. You see no one more than three times. If I ever do another run of koozies again, I will send you a koozy. No promises, but I will send you a koozy if I ever do another run of koozies. You will get a koozy. I promise. Yeah. You promised it. Not me. Allen, is there anything you want to tell the donuts? No. Appreciate you. I always love doing the bro pod and the dream road trip. So glad we got to do it again and just excited for this college football season. It is almost here as of recording, we're like, what, 45 days out, something like that. We're getting there. Can't wait. Cannot wait. All right. So that's all we have. First off, mom, if you're listening, sorry for saying the F word tall, the boneheads disappointed by the failure of no effort 2024, I am sorry, I let you down.
