[Music] Yeah, so welcome back to the latest episode of the Left Wing Back Podcast Delighted once again to be joined by David Galway this time on the Left Wing Back Podcast. No care of this week, David, but I think we're going to make up for having yourself on once again, a great reaction when we had John a couple of weeks ago and it's good to reunite. Yeah, absolutely, looking forward to the chat, I suppose we've a lot to get through, big boots to fill, we're kind of not around, so hopefully we can get another positive reaction from it anyhow, the town are taking over once again. It's the first time we've done that, David, but we might save that chat maybe to the next round of the championship because we'll come to Bangle Sands Performance and I suppose the score line against Mount Nenster Age, we're going to kick it off though with probably the game of the year so far, if not the game for the ages, David, it was obviously set Mullins and Ballon killing, set Mullins, obviously very big contenders for the championship once again, they share seven goals and 40 points between the sides. This is like a game you'd see up at Croc Park in All Art of the Finals and we come to that, we're going to discuss the All Art of the Final later on in the show, of course, between Cork and Clare, but teams breaking the turkey point barrier here in Dr. Colton Beck. Yeah, listen, it's great to see Barry, I think the championship probably needed it, a lot of the games have kind of been a stop start, fair maybe, that I've seen and it's great to see a good open game and high score, like sure, at the end of that, that's what Herlin fans want, you know, and I think you're right, like it probably has been the game of the championship so far and I suppose to be fair, Ballon killing are probably the surprise of the championship so far, and you know, I know yourself and Kevin were talking about a couple of weeks ago, but if you were to go off past performances, you probably wouldn't have been expecting them to be as in a strong position as they are. And look, I know at last time he was out, she said, sent ones were the team that had kind of impressed me the most over the last couple of weeks and I think that kind of fell through then both the inform teams met one other and that's an entertaining game that we got then, you know, which I think is, it's great and it probably shows the standard of where Carol Hardin is at too, you know. Absolutely and I suppose just looking at the headline on the referee back website and of course we do have match reports on for each of the games, if you haven't seen head on to the website and check it out. Goals galore as a tree for Marty, make sure it was his first game back, obviously, Marty Kavna, he starts a corner forward and he gets a hat trick. Yeah, well, sure, look, there's nothing near you can say about most that people around the county don't already know, you know. And the thing is, he's so hard to defend against, like he's a great knack of protecting the ball as he's taken it in and like I suppose from a violent killing point of view, if you're putting pulling D on our David English on him in the corner, you're weak and in the center of your defense and that's the same for a lot of teams in the championship, you know. And I suppose it just shows the talent that Mouse has like coming back from injury and scoring tree goals, like he's a superb reader of the game and all one of the goals came from a mistake off a sharp hook out or a turnover off a sharp hook out and a few cough up possession in around that area, Mouse is in the vicinity, like it's only going to end one way, you know. And I suppose he's probably coming back now at the right time for semblance, like, you know, the semi-finals running around the corner one round goal and then the semi-finals are the week after and that's kind of when you want your top players coming into form, you know, and come back from injury. So I'd say Tami Boogie's very happy man with that performance from Marty, like, you know. Absolutely. I'm just looking at Ballon Killen, obviously we, what was the phrase of the headline a couple of weeks ago and I think they've taken that, it was pinned up in the dressing room, flaky Ballon Killen, we can call them that no more because they put in a really good performance back-to-back now in fairness to them, David, and I suppose one of the revelations of the championship so far has been here on wheel in the middle of the pack. He's obviously on the freeze, he's on the 65s, but he's contributing from play as well and gives a lot of energy in the middle of the pack. But one thing that struck me, obviously we mentioned Mouse and he got a hat-trick. All of the Ballon Killen full-forward line go on the score sheet in terms of a goal. Shea Kelly's got a goal in the match of how he cleans his got a goal of full-forward and Jack Tracy. So the full forward line run fire. Yeah, and look, to be fair to Ballon Killen, Barry, like we've had ding dong battles with him with being the parish rivals down to the years and it's particularly at senior level. And flaky probably I suppose might be taken out of context in a sense, might seem like there's a soft underbelly there. There's definitely not with Ballon Killen. If one thing you'll get plenty of- We'll save that for a blind low on the clear later on in the show. Yeah, yeah, but you know you always have a tough game against them and I think maybe keeping here on injury free has been a huge thing for them and I suppose we'll be talking about player of the year and stuff. Contenders later on, but he's probably in the in the limelight at the moment and I think keeping him fresh and injury free and he's actually stepping up now. He's not just contributing from dead balls. He's linked and playing around the middle and you know, I seen him against my lesser injury was center forward and he's moving it off the ball like he was bringing other lads into play and I suppose if you have a tired man like par kind on the edge of the square and then if you link man out around center forward your forward line is going to start taking eventually and that seems to be the case with Ballon Killen. I think Shane Kelly obviously very well for the card of 20s this year he's involved in that panel and you know he's another young chap that stepped up and it's probably what Ballon Killen have been missing over the last couple years is that you know they've always had good defenders but now the forward line is starting to come into the mix and like they drew against Rangers and were probably very unlucky not to win that game that a good win against Wagner's town and you know another solid performance against them ones who are championship contenders this year like so like they have to be very happy with where they are and and you know a tree solid performances like you'd have to say you know they'll probably find sort of chances now in the semi-final. The strong up the middle they're very strong up the middle I mean if you look at 3-6 obviously the middle of the park 11 and 14 you know they're very strong up the middle but as you said you know they've obviously added they've a nice blend in the forward line of pace strength obviously I mentioned Parig Heinz at 14 but the pace of Sean Murphy is well at 11 I mean he's able to open up teams and obviously the goals just giving you the score line David at the weekend for those listening 3-20 tree to to set Mullins and 4-17 to Ballon and Killins so they've out scored set Mullins in terms of goals and as I mentioned you know the full forward I'll get another score sheet with a goal. Yeah and like look they're able to go out direct now as in that they have an outball in Heinz on the edge of the square and also Sean Murphy can carry the ball and few of a strong runner around the middle coming true that creates you know opportunities for other lads to be brought into play and it unlocks the fences like and I suppose my my team with them would be like their strength and depth like so say as I mentioned they're come to semi-final like they're going to obviously have to task someone to pick up the opposition's bigger players so it does that weaken their defense then does it leave them susceptible to the likes of that performance from Mouse again and that's the one thing like I don't know if they can afford a take the on-out center defense said to pick up Mouse if he lined out a corner for or Chris Nolan said for example when he's back for Rangers and so while it's encouraging you know you'd like to obviously see a new team make the final or whatever it's just you would worry maybe about their strength and depth and that'd be the one thing that I concern me for them you know yeah and and St. Mullins obviously just looking at players that come off the bench want to be all long-lost relatives down in St. Mullins Oshin Ryan came out I thought he made a bit of a bit made a bit of a difference at at at 14 in the month for John Doyle and looking at us both St. Mullins and their performances James Doyle has obviously been instrumental he's got you know six frees and a 65 but he's also contributed I would four points some play Connor Kiel that's start a mid-line there for St. Mullins and the half-forward line on the 40 and Jack Kavna, James Doyle and Connor Kiel that seems to be a big part of what they're about yeah sure look Annie come to take me to be blessed to have those lads and have them playing well and they've been around the block for a long time now I know Connor's probably young like what you see the experience he's got playing on Carlos seniors over the last couple years and he's really come into his own like you have to remember like he's playing midfield and if it's given for DCU like it which is a seriously competitive level to be performed and one of their main players you know and like it's going to be hard to stop St. Mullins this year I feel I just think they're all clicking at the right time as I said mouse is coming back into full fitness now like you know first came a back score on a hat trick you see James's contributions there like he scored 210 against Moistu two three that was from play like sure when when those boys run farmed or are mark like and and you know while banking outs Gordon and goals I suppose they probably just had that extra little bit of class to keep much in the head between them you know yeah absolutely and I suppose just before we finish up obviously three points the difference here the AC balance killing now is obviously the confidence has grown do you see them as possible contenders I don't know if contenders might be it might be too early to make that call and like I suppose they're it'll depend on how the last round goal is obviously their their fate is kind of out her own hands at the moment it is in to have the body in the last round but going on farm like all you can do is go off the evidence that you've seen over the course of the group stages and sure like I mean they're after putting in a stellar performance against the same ones game of the championship as we said drew with my lens to render so yeah look they have to be they have to be in consideration and a whether they whether they're able to get over the line in the semi final or not I suppose is a different story and that's the question mark that they have over them I'm sure they'll have taken massive belief from the games and like you couldn't find fault with their performance it's so far so yeah I suppose they're coming into the picture and it's just whether their fate is in their own hands right I think it's the thing you know so yeah well talking about contenders current champions mutlister rangers under a strength taken along nicely in the headline of the website on the left wing back is the medley light worker bagnostin unfortunately and probably we'll come to bagnostin but first of all mutlister rangers obviously Chris Nolan a faker of his Patrick brilliant for the county this year once again they're back in the country I believe one of them was actually at the match on the sideline but I suppose look they're doing they're doing what they have to do with this stage yeah like to be fair to rangers I think to become the experts at time under a run right in the way the group champs stage of the championship works and like they're probably to me the night against violent killing were just lacking that cutting edge it seemed to be dependent on taking long-range scores or playing long ball into the forwards which maybe without Chris inside wasn't always working for them and that probably left by killing the game a little bit but like again they're they're coming into farm at the right time and like the last time I was out on yourself and kept we spoke about to build a cup final and bang sound had owned that game fairly handy but you know as I said to you that day it was going to be a different story when it came around and they just seem to be in control of the game from from the start and I think rangers are just a team that if you allowed them to get a foothold on you at all they just know how to keep the scoreboard taken over and know how to control the game they're always well structured like the great strikers of the ball out around the middle heart of the field so if you even if you set up defensively against them they're going to pick off those scores and that seems to be the case last weekend bang sound just didn't seem to get themselves into the game really at all and like look there's been a strong rivalry there over the last number of years and that's probably grown and grown and getting stronger and I know I think Fikra was involved in an instant he was sent off maybe coming off the sideline so like they'll be hoping that he's not suspended now for the last round and for the semi-final and I know like look speaking from personal experience that happened me when I did my crucial the second time in 2019 and if you get involved like that you face a lengthy band like so I just hope for Fikra's sake that doesn't turn out to be the case and because he's he's a diamond over player and he probably will add an extra dynamic to the middle heart for rangers and I think Chris coming back is going to be a huge thing and they just didn't seem to have that threat or that fear factor in the forward line without Chris there and I know there's plenty good forwards like Donna and here on cabinet those chaps like are all really good harders but you know it's just a marquee name just seemed to be missing and I know Eddie Barnes started the last day so they're probably going to try to look put him on the edge of the square again to bring that in you know and but like look as I said they're the experts at time in the run so you can never write them off you know five and a six hours for the Rangers got on the score sheet their two wingbacks Tony Lawler and even Keeley and obviously Kevin McDonald had done a good job on on Jason Wall who's impressed me for Bagnostown this year in Fairness so far he was at 11 I think the big thing from Bagnostown though obviously you know we spoke with the red cards Mac Mac was introduced saw red and but the big thing for Bagnostown for me this year is one goal in three matches I think if Bagnostown are to to be up their challenge and we need to we have pace in that forward line obviously Jake dial keeling guide or Craig he's not slowing down in Fairness like and there is pace there Jamie Clark Jason more coming to the middle Jack McCulloch and back into the side of 12 and do we need to be getting more goals as a championship look Barry and my insurance lads are first disappointed with the result that weekend like nine points from you know over the course of six minutes is obviously not good enough and yeah they add this the straight answers yeah if you want win a championship you have to create all chances and you have to go and lock in defenses and I just thought like look it's probably always been an issue first really as a club like having big ball winners or lads who are able to win primary possession in the forward line we always seem to have pace and I'd like to see Bagnostown try a different set up maybe to try utilize that so just say for example Jamie Clarkson playing wing forward and the wing forward seem to have been dropping deep kind of given defensive cover to the half back line in the midfield and I don't know is that the best place to utilize Jamie I'd actually love to see him just being put in on the edge of the square and I bring Andrew Kane in alongside him personally sure like look you know the two lads they would have played on your younger brothers team all the way up along and like they just have a really good chemistry with one other and I think their movement off the ball and their understanding of each other could bring a different dynamic to the inside line for Bagnostown and and I'd I'd actually like to see Jake maybe a little bit further out the field and like he's good striker the ball he's not bad under pook outs like and I don't know do we always get the best out of him when he's inside I think if you had Craig Jamie and Andrew inside it might just create a bit more movement in the lane whereas then we're not depending on direct ball you can now start playing a ball into space you know and and I just don't think the art that set up will work for them and in the forward lane with unless they can find someone that they can deploy deeper that's going to win primary possession and lay it off to the faster that's that'd be my that'd be my take on it if the ones create more goals and I don't know what your hot tire on the now but you know just it's just utilizing the strength started air I suppose a bit or I suppose maybe maybe maybe isolating and you know isolating maybe to be honest with you I'd bring Craig further out and have Jake and and the likes of Jamie inside it's a good show because Jamie has Pearson if you're gonna get goals to isolate those almost look at a two-man full forward in which are two paces pairs inside look that's that's all I think as a whole the performance nine points we need to be contributing further out to feel with scores as well Darren Olin and all has been getting scores I'm sure the championship so far Shawmore and Niall Bulger that to me looks a solid line and I suppose as a whole David that if you look at the game itself they were kept quite busy the back the back line and you know if you look at the moment leads the Rangers their wing forward line I talked to where I'm tapping that area Dean Tobin has chipped him at two points again he's been a real standout player for the Rangers this year so far Teddy Joyce has got five points from playing six frees and John Nolan has obviously scored three points from the wing forward in as well so to be asking your wing back line to be chipping in the score I think we need to do that anyway but I think they were kept quite busy in this match yeah and like look to be honest with you like from what I've seen a Dean and Ted they're moving well off another and in the half-hour lane for Angel and that's obviously going to pin back your half-back lane and I think you know like would we would back in some we better off with John Jack and Colle into midfield playing tree across the middle blocking up that middle hard and trying to get the ball into space into the forwards that way got to be my touch yet yeah yeah and I'm like look I suppose my race that's why I was kind of saying about bringing Jake out like he's a good striker at the ball does that give you the option to play if the long ball into full forward line is not get your better strikers into half-hour line on the ball and let him get your scores like and you know Jason Wall's been excellent that center forward but if he's not getting that supply or he's not getting that space to move around in at that position particularly on a good defender like Kevin Mack and you've Tony Lauter's own well as well like and that's probably where Bagnestown needs to look at you know that would look far away for me to criticize the lads I know they're obviously disappointed and they'll just have to regroup themselves they know well that the performance level was and where it needs to be and and you just hope now that they can get right going into the weekend because it is a big weekend coming forward for them like you know I think if you look at Bagnestown's performance in the first game against Moishel we got quite a few frees in that match Craig has converted two frees in this in this particular match so obviously and I'm not going to call it disciplined but Rangers did get more of the the the the frees you know they've converted seven frees in total to Bagnestown's two so the referee Brown Derry Derry given maybe Rangers ah yeah but sure look you're gonna that comes and goes Barry and like to be fair as I was saying like the rivalry between those two clubs there now was fierce like so there's a hall is going to be a bit of bite to it like and yeah like obviously it is something that Bagnestown are gonna have to look at like you can't be given good free Tigers opportunities to punish it like you know and like it's probably been a team across the championship I'd like to see the games we let go a little bit more like there has been you know early tackles like that maybe you could let the player develop a phase or two more and then see if to come back for the advantage then like and you know like I don't know at all like it's it's just a would come across at the discipline wasn't where it needs to be particularly with the two send it off so I and her husband go bite in the games like so it's just some of the banks don't have to look at all far to try to reduce that number of trees like you know yeah should look we will we'll we'll hope that you know the the Bagnestown train get back on the tracks and and obviously coming down it brings us on to the next point David because at the final round games Bagnestown and St Mullens motion known as the Rangers I suppose both teams lead to win whether the winner not is is the next question but let's arrange the same one's already qualified today maybe rest some players perhaps in either these games or they do they want to keep momentum up coming into these matches my shell against Motelinster Rangers first of all David my shell it's most win for them yeah like look it's essentially quite final for my shell and Bagnestown I suppose and like you know particularly when they're playing Rangers my shell are going to get get themselves offered and they're going to want to lift your performance like and it's it's going to be too fast for them I think and I just thought the game against Bagnestown like they're a poke-out scene to malfunction in the second half or they seem to be grouping in the middle around half our line and breaking out but the ball was coming along and how you over them like I don't know have the address that since I have I have I haven't got to see them since but and it's got to be huge ass for them like and sure like I mean sent ones and Rangers have to be favored for both games like and and I like I'd struggle to see my shell beaten Rangers at the weekend to be honest with you like they haven't had too many top class performances and you know they've kind of stuttered through with some of the games in the group stage so far so it's hard it's hard to see past Rangers beat you know I think so and just looking at obviously at the the the my shell we back down a deep into ain't Kevin and Patti dial I have to say I'd worry for them and coming up against the likes of Teddy Jice Tobin and obviously John Nolan at this pace and that Rangers weighing forward in and I think that's an area that they can hurt them just provided you know that it don't make ring ring the changes I wouldn't I wouldn't expect saw no David would you know I can't I can't see them making changes to be honest with you like look momentum is huge Barry and Annie sport like and like if you if you make a change or make too many changes and it disrupts the team or then maybe someone gets hurt and you have to change around for the next game you know like I just I don't I can't see it happening both teams are going to want to keep on top when they're on top and women's a habit like and they're gonna want to keep winning like you know and and I mean like if Rangers are like they're gonna have Chris coming back I presume for this match that he'd be available so they're going to want to try get their best team out and get a really strong performance before they turn around and play a semi-final the following week and like we were saying they're taking along nicely and yeah they're not a full tilt you'd have to say no so so I would imagine that they'll want to go full till this weekend and to be really strong coming into the semi-final and like you look what happened with the jaw went on at the two years ago I went awfully rested everyone and then Carol turned around and beat them in the final like it had to have played some kind of a role like you know so I can't see a whole lot of changes personally no yeah move around to back the sound set Mullins I suppose where do we need to improve first and foremost yeah well look we need to we need to stop James dialing mouse first of all and that's that's going to be the key battle where James and Marty operate against buying a sound is a whole you know you could put them in a and a number of positions I think if if dial lines out a midfield I'd like to see Jack McCullough picking them up I think he's the only one really that we'd have the let's is a man the power and strength to stay away my maybe notifying him a bit obviously that'd be used to mark one other from counter training and stuff like that so I think that'd be a key kind of battle and I'll see on the mouse yeah well sure look if he's and wherever mouse plays in the far is I think Alfie has to pick him up like it's just and he's not a good job and in the past to be fair yeah well sure look in fairness Alfie's probably been one of the best man markers for the county down through the last number of years he's always been by this time he's got to man to shut down the best opposition forward and like I think banks are well equipped to get those matchups right if they want like if I'd say maybe if Patti Bowlin's in in the full forward line that Andrew Casey will pick him up if he's out on the half-hour line you'd imagine Niall Bouldger maybe would match up with more Sean Wall perhaps. It's not an area I'd be very fearful of is our is our fall back then I think they're gooey no they're solids yeah they are solid and like to be fair to them they've been putting in strong performances in all the games like and like going down has been very good in fairness and was probably his best year since he's come up to senior like and so yeah I don't know I think like the the forward line just they need to move the same ones backs around like and like they're all good defenders in their own right but if you can get them moving back towards their own goal I definitely think that banks don't have the pace to threaten them but it can't be static like it has to be really really strong movement off the ball good support runners when the ball does go inside and and that's where you'll heart my know Paul Lyle was and send her back for some ones the last day like saw you'd like to think Jason's was moving to give him a bit of trouble like and if they can kind of pull him out center back and open up the middle that could provide an opportunity maybe for a bank sound to get our own after defense you know yeah I'd say so and draw those fouls draw those fouls could be key you know cuz Craig will convert them I do think we're going to need to score two if not three goals in the game and to because to outpoint set Lawrence is going to be a tough task and and look it's not the odd the bounds of possibility that the hunger is going to be there going to be disappointed with themselves you know obviously to lose the ballon killing and then you know probably the worst performance of the season against Martin's Terangers but it's a lot to be played for still probably in my view David we're still looking in a strong position to get true to the semi-finals because I would struggle to see my should be in Martin's Terangers if I'm in absolutely honest and which puts us in it in a nice position on the head-to-heads and yeah it's gonna it's gonna be interesting and the game's obviously upcoming this weekend and do stay tuned to left wing back website as well for match reports after the back of the weekend but we wish the lads well and yeah fingers crossed we can maybe pull off a big result against St Mullins and get make it true too and we're speaking from a bag of perspective here David make it true to the semi-finals and early contenders for her the year this is a topic that we've kind of we briefly touched upon it earlier but I suppose who do you have on this step yeah look I suppose there's a couple of younger guys maybe I might give a mention to Barry that I've kind of stood out to me and like look we've talked about battling killing and go by touching Kelly's performances have been very good and you know he's contributing underscore board which is obviously having a big impact on battling killing's performances we talked about Dean Tobin der Forangers as well I think Connor Fitzpatrick has been doing quite well a good addition to that half-back lane for my Linser Rangers and both and then of course Jason Wall for Bangsone and I was actually chatting to Jason after one of the matches and I just said to him you know I think it's his best year in the Bangsone jersey in a long long time and I think center forward suits and man he's been chipping in with scores from play like which you know sometimes we can carry forwards maybe in Bangsone a little bit that they're in there to do maybe a defensive cover or win ball maybe in the half-hour line and he's chipping in with scores all the time but I think the two standout players have to be James Dylissette Mullins and Keir Armin from Ballonkin and when you look at the influence that they're having on the game like James scored 210 against Marshall 2-3 that came from play 11 points against Ballonkin the last day for from play like that's the man's an animal yeah he is like sure he's probably Carlos I got to say it here now and I know there's lots of debate and players have been brought into the mix I think he's the one player in the Carlos set up that would 100% get on any team in the country yeah like I think I'm sad yeah I'm sad from Marti we'll get into more teams like and I include Limerick in that like I just think James has the athletic ability to fit in with any side of play you can play him on the edge of the square you can play him wing forward you can play him in field and and like look he's a he's a sound fella he's a phenomenal athlete like and I fucking I'd hate to be American I'm like I'd hate to be American up against it because what do you do you try wrestle it and he's gone to out rest today and try to get ahead of him to the ball he's going to beat you for pace like so you know best of luck Jack McCullough I know Jack will be well in for him don't worry no but he's um he you know he is unplayable at times like and and he's probably been the standout and then I suppose the 2nd dependro will be here on wheeling and as I said earlier he has set up maybe probably hasn't contributed from play as much as he would have liked in previous seasons but this year he seems to really have taken on the mantle of being a senior player and being a leader and like the you know he has all the talent in the world and we're probably seeing the best of it now at senior level I know he've all been well aware of his talents on the edge when he's coming up to the ranks with Carol at the minors and twenties and stuff like that so and yeah there'll be the two stand out for me at the moment what are we going 8 to 13 92 92 wheeling 7 to 1 the field I think so yeah I think I think that'd be fair right well look it look I suppose look at just set Mullins they're gonna be tough to stop so that you know the and he is the standout player influential strength pace skill everything that you need in terms of a forward and he has a good surname as well so and we'll crack that one I suppose look we're going to come on to the Allard and senior hurling championship final this upcoming weekend obviously there's a there's a big scramble for tickets promised promises to be an absolute cracker but I did want to just mention quickly Dave before we did finish up on under Carlo on on the Carlo segment of the show first of all the the the ladies footballers and Allard and semi-final heartbreak and once again for for the carol ladies and just to give you an update on the score line and loud to 11 carol 11 points that means I can't show my face outside the door here in it up it up and done talk there is a match report by by Dara by Dara Walsh on the left-wing back podcast so if anyone wants to head over and take a look at that hard look to the girls and there's a full breakdown and report on the website so congratulations to loud and yeah hard look to the carol ladies but it's the big one David this weekend you're heading up hopefully we'll meet you for a point up there and Carl Claire first and foremost who did he is going to win and why yeah sure look I don't want to chat to you yes about it I still think I think I fancy Claire and I just think that they've they've more big game experience over the last couple years and I just I don't know I can car ever put two big performances back-to-back they haven't consistently over the last couple years and now I know like obviously beat and limerick car are going to be the strong favorites and and I just you know I was trying to I was gonna go through it and and see like where what's the key battles going to be where's the game going to be one of the last and when you look at the matchups and I just I can't see who car would put on Tony Kelly and Shane O'Donnell and be able to keep both those players out again completely and like Shane O'Donnell is in the farm of his life he probably needs more minding out than he ever has had and for me Tony Kelly is one of the greatest Harlers I've ever seen and I think he tries in Crow Park the space that he's able to get into now I know you would come back with me and say well I was going to say I'm is he still a Mikey but butler's pocket because two seasons ago he'd done a job at him and to be honest she's been kind of missing ever since devil look he's got one sixteen or fifteen I think in the championship so far it's a good score out from the center of the park but has he been really the top Tony Kelly in the last two seasons as to what we see to sell before that look I suppose he's kind of been caught by injury and particularly this year and he's coming back kind of now and like he's just one of those players that you can't leave out a start in fifteen if he's 50 plays and I think he's had a couple of games under his belt now and more game time into the legs and like iron sharpens iron all the time and I think that'll stand to him I'd like with the way a car play if Kelly lines out of midfield like they're not going to want to puff it's given on him to to man mark him and to try carp his influence because they need if it's given go on the other way and I just don't know how to shut them down yeah and we'll come to him but we will come to us about some of the key matchups and yeah you know some predictions in terms of scores maybe a first goalscorer and also take a look also take a look at the horror the year as well because that's something we've discussed from a carol perspective but let's look at it from a natural perspective in a moment but just to break down the final to give some of the trends and some of the important information to kind of set the scene it's a turd all monster final for the first time in sorry a turd all monster final in five years carp biden for the first dollar and since 2005 there'll be number 31 for them if they go and do it obviously the staff that the drive for five from Nimlock in the semi final this is a repeat of the 2013 final and that was goals galore the replay actually so eight goals in the match and these these two sides when they met in the round robin and monster and by three goals each so it could be we could have plenty of goals out once again carp that the top goals scores in the championship and with 16 goals so far are averaging you know well over two goals again and I suppose looking at clear obviously the early champions but the big team for me David is and I know they've been up against you know one of the greatest teams of all time in this limerick side but you know they've lost four of the five finals under Brian Lohan obviously the four finals were in monster that they last were all against limerick but it's just don't get over the line enough that's just my my opinion on yeah well I suppose look to be honest which I think the biggest crisis we've had not gotten online this year was in the first round against limerick when there were nine pints up they should it just should have seen that came out but I just think limerick are an awesome team and the more you play against limerick the more they learn about you and the more alternative tactics you come up to try counteract them the more alternative is they come to you know put you back in your box and limerick are just able to play it anyway they want and a lot of teams aren't able to do that and I so I don't I find it hard to fall clear for not getting over the line against them I do think like the the pockouts are going to be a huge thing at the weekend carved really went to at limerick and yeah it was actually at the game down in parkyquave and you could see that they decided that they were going to isolate Kyle Hayes leave him out on his own on one side and overlord the everburn side of the field and I think kark are a lot more astute on that kind of aspect of the game than people give them credit for you see them against limerick the last day a lot of teams will drop off and try to defend space in the middle hard against limerick they left their three forwards up and they said right if we're going to beachy we're going to go towards thought to get today and I think that's that's one area that Claire need to try expose if I was brian law on this week I'd be saying try force cart got shot you see early on in the air when they were trying they're kind of chart or pockouts to make field half hours running into space it broke down against limerick down in parkyquave that the limerick press right up on them in their half-hour line in the second half and the one sharp hook out that patch clowns was forced to hit he gave the wrong option limerick turned it over and it ends in the goal and so I think that's where here I'll try to get after kark and the interesting thing David on that you just bring up this point because kark if you look at the semi-final against limerick and they got six scores from the long hook out and six and six man from hand and it was really orthodox from from kark and the forward line that's to me where they have the big advantage here and the forward movement the power of those forwards the six forwards pay a skill and strength we spoke about james dillian having you know every one of those attributes the cock forwards they're they're just six animals and torty six-year-old Patrick Orgrim in in the middle of the mix obviously broke the 700 points American in the semi-final in the championship it's a 17 season but it's not just pat patrick Orgrim anymore in that in that cork forward line Brian Hayes chipping him with two goals in the championship so far Aaron Conley or Alan Conley should they say a couple of hat tricks and he's gonna be a big big gold shred and I just think that the cork forwards are a better set of forwards than the player six and I suppose if you look at the shooting efficiency a player in that first half against Kilkenny they cannot perform with that again they had you know the white count was was it was it was after was it was off the charts for him in the first half against Kilkenny I think Tony Kelly is going to be instrumental in the game you know if they can isolate him and he can have a big game contributing the scores from play and not just contributing with scores himself but actually setting up play and making the play as you mentioned he could be key but I just think Hargam Conley and Brian Hayes that full forward line in particular and they're going to be key for cork and I suppose just looking at you know how the shape of the game or how it might develop and five of the of cork's last seven matches in championship have been up have been 60 points or more in terms of the game itself and for that to be the case once again it's nine to four wheel sports shameless plug there they have a put I just think this is going to be a high scoring game I think cork are gonna get goals more goals than Claire and I think that's gonna be the winner of the match yeah like look I suppose if your cork the cork forwards are going to try expose John Conlin at six they're gonna try not allowing to sit sit back the way he likes to do and we see him in limerick to that to them like you know what the dream out there it opened up Claire's full back line and like I think that can dot and it'll have a huge impact on the game and when he dropped out the field elastic he picked up scores he was swapping from one wing to the other wing and but I I disagree just likely I feel that the clairbacks have the match ups to shut down the car forwards like Dave McNerney I'd say I will pick up and deckling Dalton I can see Adam hogan picking up Alan Conley which you know he did a superb job and on Cody last day I know Cody got the goal but you could see even by Cody's reaction straight up in Hogan's face Hogan was obviously in his head for the whole game and after that like he was just on Cody had no influence on the game Hogan just seen him out and I think if they can shut those two lads down like Connor clearing Brian Hayes is going to be just a big tight wrestling match in on the edge of the square two big strong men going at it and it'll be an epic battle and is it to one for the first goal David Brian Hayes yeah I was looking at there on there yeah I think and Rogers was night one for Claire and Conley 71 for car so like you know I do I just think cock Claire will get your match ups right and if they can if they can negate Dalton and Conley that takes a huge aspect that will cork's forward line I know shems hardening these lads are still playing well but I just don't think they've been at the level at all so why isn't it not and they're due a victory aren't they in fairness you mentioned Sheamus harmony and even Connor Lahan obviously on the panel and Patrick Oregon 2013 that's going to you know it'd be like a red ride to a ball I mean cork are I suppose when cork I remember coming into the 99 fine and all Harlan has moved on plenty since 1999 but the car crowd and there's a bit of confidence there and the crowd are up you know it is almost like a 68 man or a 78 man it's it's worth so much to them the confidence is high in in the county they've knocked out Limerick you mentioned the back-to-back performance I think this is a common of age at a cocktail I think getting over Limerick for the second time in a year I think they'll kick on from this I don't think they're gonna leave it behind Claire look I got to say it David for me it's it's it's they're nearly men and they have been Brian Lohan and this is there's almost there's almost even a cork having one another in 19 years there's almost more pressure on Brian Lohan coming into this match than there is on the cork management in my view and I think that will also play a factor the big man and this is the man we haven't even mentioned yet this is to me the harder the year in waiting it's not changed on all you think that if it's given who do Claire have to pick up this man because the energy the pace is shooting ability from long-range his distribution and he's everything in this in that center of park he's the most influential player for me in the entire championship across the board 22 points from play across seven matches and that's obviously only his score that's in the center of the park so he's almost like a seven forward for cork and my question is you know who do they have to pick him up and we haven't even mentioned the pace after venture Kingston or Connor and off Lynn you know what they can contribute coming in after the bench in terms of legs for cork so I'd be strong on cork Dave but give us your score prediction yeah look I'm going to say Claire by tree I'll probably be proven wrong and you're putting a strong erringman forward for for a cork and I just think I do think the clear backs will be able to get on top and I can't I just cannot see cork's defense shutting down Tony Kelly and Shayna Donald and and then we're not we haven't even spoke about Mark Rogers or Ed McCarty like the year they're having you know and I think you look at your channel Donald David because he's the 10 to 11 favorite he's actually odds on to be her early year now we scored 212 from playing the championship but it's not just this corn is it no well like he's the key link man for Claire and and like what I love about Missy's movement off the ball and how he takes on his man so like I know what's been spoken about by loads upon this trout deer but you watching when the minute he gets the ball in his hand he's not trying to go wide or sidestep man he's actually turning within himself and front and up to the defender so as a back then straight away you have a decision to make do I commit to this man here do I step off him like if you step off him he's gonna take you on and he's lightning quick he's good feet but I just think that people underestimate his ball win and ability and how quick he is able to get that ball down and lay it off to a runner off the shoulder and you know I like no different way we were talking about the club championship there if you can get that ball moving quickly in your forward line it unlocks the defense and I just he's just he's moving off the ball is phenomenal and I've been looking off the same player like a couple of times and the last time I seen him play I was right behind the goal and he's just moving all the time like he's an absolute nightmare to defend against and it doesn't matter what way you send the ball into him he'll catch it high he'll control it low you know so if player need to bring him out to half far line the can he can play a center forward he can play a corner for him play full forward so he's just he's a phenomenal player I think he's having the best year of his career and like for me he's a shoe-in for harder the year regardless of the result on Sunday you know right David it's time for score predictions and I'm gonna go to 3 26 to 1 24 win for Cork it's a big victory for Cork I think we'll have over 60 points in the match David and I suppose just looking at some of the betting opportunities this is what we've come up with right this is what I've come up with you can give yours in a second and at six to four the Naparilla and Cork to win and Cork to score two goals or more in the game itself so that's six to four that's gonna be the nap I think we'll get over 60 60 points and you know over 60.5 match points that's 61 points or more that's priced up at 9 to 4 that that looked a good bet there if it's given three to one for the harder of the year and we're going aside with Brian Hayes scored a first goal and 8 to 1 in the match he's really impressed me this year he scored two goals in the championship he could have easily had four or five just looking at the balance of play we definitely could have had two goals against Limerick down in the game you were at and in earlier on the season in Parkiequiv and he also could have had a goal as well in the semi-finals so I think he's a big contender for a goal you think he's gonna be shot out give us your your picks what's your score prediction score prediction now and I go Claire 3 21 Cork 3 20 I think maybe by a point may I'd say a max clear win by his three points but it's going to be a tight game it's going to be a high scoring game and in terms of first goal score I think Alan Conley at 71 is a great price I think you're right with Brian Hayes as well as one if they're they're going to be probably the two main goals right I think to get an early goal so I go with you on that one yeah Conley's enhanced out to 2 to 1 with ball sports David if you want to slice of that to actually score a goal in the game itself I think we're gonna have goals we'd six goals three goals a piece when the sides met down early on the season in the monster round Robin just looking I suppose look at and the hunger factor cork they haven't won in all Ireland in 19 years and Claire obviously and got the better them in 2013 and have beaten them their last tree head-to-heads I don't think cork are going to be what found wanton I think the hunger is there you know they're building nicely at the right time I think the rebels will be rampant yeah I wouldn't I wouldn't them I wouldn't underestimate the last dance effect for Claire to either like this is Lauren's fifth year with the team it's probably going to be his last you'd imagine regardless of results on Sunday and you don't know I like Shane and I was talking about going off me in an astronaut and different things you don't know like those lads are taking on in years to someone who might be looking at that I finished an up on a high so I wouldn't rule that out and that being added pressure we you know we saw that waterford over the years you know the last dance and the went to the left the went for a last dance a couple of times you know and they didn't quite get over the line they're still dancing to you and oh and I don't think it does and I just I think the type of characters that they have as their leaders like cork are really reliant like what you say on that interaction with the crowd really being fired up and sometimes in an all-earned final it's cool head that'll get you over the line and and look we could be back here in two weeks time Barry and and previewing a replay like I mean that's what happened in 2013 and I'd say a car for still seeing from that I know like you'd love to you'd love to know because you make a fortune with the odds you were after listing out there but I we're in for a great game anyway that's one thing for sure you know absolutely really looking forward to it
