But other times, they call for allowing us to endure suffering and become stronger as a result. God is in complete control of all that has ever been, is currently, and will be. Nothing surprises him, and he actually has a plan for every one of us. God states that even though we will still make errors and sin, he still has excellent things in store for those who love him. As in Jeremiah, chapter 29, verse 11, NIV says, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Nobody wants God's plans to include difficulties. But sometimes, they are for our own development and progress, and other times, they are because God has made us strong enough to aid those who need him. God does not always give a quick way out, but why is this so? For just as the butterfly grows strong enough to fly, by straining against the cocoon from which it attempted to emerge, we must likewise endure through tough circumstances in order to become stronger and increase our faith. We may be required to endure through tough times, like the Israelites were, since it is part of God's plan to help us grow, and also to make us part of His bigger plan, and to lead all people to Christ. God does not guarantee wealth, perfect health, or a life free of problems. Yet, if we continue to believe and have confidence in Him, He promises to stay with us, to comfort us in our times of need, and to rejoice with Him for eternally in heaven, and God fulfills us promise to us via the work of a son, Jesus, who provides us peace with God. But how can I realize and follow God's plan? Meditate on God's Word, Psalm chapter 119, verse 105, NIV, says your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path, by meditating on God's Word. We grow in understanding of the Word, and increase our ability to apply it in our lives. Meditation drives away our fears and doubts, and the Word of God enables us to prosper. When the Bible mentions meditation, it often mentions obedience in the next breath. This refers to one of the main purposes of reflecting on God's Word. To let our actions be changed by it, the more we mediate God's Word, the closer we will get to Him. It works just like any other relationship. If we seldom think about someone, chances are we don't connect with them, or maybe forget about them. Nevertheless, if we concentrate on that person and how he or she truly is, we will come to know him or her better, which will improve our connection with that person. As you get closer to His Word, you can find the guidance that He wants us to follow, the greatest plan that He has planned for us since we were formed. Spend your time in prayer in James chapter 1, verse 5 and 6, NIV says, if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. God is not far, though. He loves to answer our prayers, especially prayers where we cry out to Him to be closer. Thank you for being a God who wants a relationship with me, for being a God that wants me to be close. Thank you for being a God that can be known. The creator of the universe wants to be close to me. Father, because you are gracious and merciful, your will is always oriented toward our benefit, yet this world we live in is cast in darkness. This doesn't mean that you will never experience problems or trials in life, but you do have an eternal future in Christ spiritually. No one knows the future. Each of us make plans without knowing what tomorrow brings, but that does not mean that we should not make plans. Instead, we should consider our plans in light of God's plan. Plans you make and decisions made by others can have an effect on your life and future plans, taking action and responding to God. Once you discern God's will, the next step is to actually do what he says. James, chapter 1, verse 22, and ivy says, "Be doers of the word and not merely hearers who deceive themselves." God wants us to listen to him and do as he asks. His followers must not only hear God's word, but act on it. When we face trouble, we are being tested on our faith. God can test our faith and see how we react and how we trust him. We cannot build our faith ourselves, but God can help us. Sometimes when our faith is weak, we must go to him and ask him to give us faith and help our faith in him grow. Let's think about what we do with our lives. Are you ready for God to see your actions? It's like seeing yourself in a mirror. When you walk away, your image is gone. God's plan for us is always good, and he is ready for us to follow in his steps and live for him. If you look in his perfect law and follow him, you will receive his gift of life. Thank you, Lord, that you have a plan for my life, and it's a great plan. I endeavor to listen to your voice and obey immediately. I know you love me, and I want my life to be an example of your great love for people and the goodness you desire for them to experience in their lives. Father, I am grateful for this wonderful truth you have shared with me today. I choose this day to believe your word for my life.
