When reading these books I always find such fascinating information that never makes it into the podcast and here I get a chance to give you a peek into the book. After months of stargazing and photographing the night sky on November 17th 2020 I stepped outside for some fresh air before bed and my life was forever changed again. What I thought was going to be preparation for bed turned into first contact with something not of this world. It was a pretty normal night or so it seemed. The following day I had a space photography trip planned with some photography friends that I was really looking forward to. I was starting to get sleepy and began preparing for bed. At 1.50am I felt cold to step out on my front porch one last time before retiring. I was immediately surrounded by the brisk autumn cold and looked up into the sky like I always do. This time I instantly locked eyes on a strange bright light. I began examining what it could be. Could it be a bright star or a planet? No. It was brighter and larger than any star or planet. Was it moving or were my eyes playing tricks on me? No. It was definitely moving. Could it be a plane or a helicopter? No. There were no flashing lights and this object was moving back and forth in a circular motion. It was hovering in the same spot above the neighborhood. Wait. It was hovering? My eyes widened as I began to question if this was some sort of UFO. In the months that I had been stargazing nearly every night I never saw anything like this. It was not moving like one of our aircraft. This was different. I quickly grabbed my phone and began recording the mystery object with excitement but it was too dark. My phone camera was going in and out of focus. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. How exciting if this was truly a UFO. While trying to get my phone to focus a strange blood orange light suddenly appeared down the street that drew my attention. I looked over to investigate and found it to be the light on the street lamp about five houses down but it was different than before. I had never seen the street light that strange vivid blood orange color. It was very odd. Time suddenly stood still and I became hyper aware of how bone-chillingly silent and eerie it was outside. I looked around at my surroundings. My neighborhood was like a ghost town. Leafless trees stood perfectly still and silent as dark silhouettes against a clear starry sky with no wind and no one else around. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Suddenly the silence broke and the wind began to rustle. I shot a quick glance back to the hovering light only to discover a second UFO had appeared seemingly out of thin air. This one was much closer and larger. It was a diamond shape and dark grey with rows of red and blue green lights that went across the middle. It was only a few houses down so close that I was bending my neck looking up at it. My eyes widened in shock. My mind was having a hard time registering what I was seeing. It's strange when you come face to face with something so outlandish like this. Your mind and body really goes into shock, like your brain just can't compute. You begin to question if you are truly seeing it. The diamond UFOs seemed to react to my thoughts and quickly darted to the left, then to the right, then shot up and then back down at insane speed. As if to prove to me that it was not a normal aircraft, it seemed to respond with a "Yes, I am real". I didn't know how to react. I just stood there in shock and awe trying to process what was happening when suddenly the UFOs slowly started coming straight towards me. I involuntarily began to tremble. As the craft grew closer, I debated trying to film it or stepping back to hide under the roof of my porch. I had no idea what this craft was going to do. In the last second, I chose to step back under the roof as it came overhead. I lost sight of it as it went above me. I paused and half expected a beam of light to come down and lift me up like you see the movies. But after a few seconds passed by, nothing happened. I jumped out from under the porch to see where it went, but it was gone, completely vanished. I intuitively knew that the UFO either flew straight up at a ridiculously fast speed or it popped into another dimension where I could not see it. I was pretty shaken up and wasn't sure what to think or do. They made it obvious that they saw me. They honed in on me and came straight towards me. My whole paradigm instantly shifted and my life forever changed. Something I occasionally pondered about was if there was life beyond what we knew out in the cosmos. I never thought I would actually get to witness it. So UFOs are real. Extra-terrestrials are real and they are here. I could not sleep. I got in my car and drove around for a while, searching the skies for anything abnormal because I didn't know what else to do. I also fell on edge about those UFOs being right outside my house. I wasn't sure if they were still there or they were becoming back. They must know that I lived there. They clearly saw me, I thought. Are they still there? Are they watching me? I was a little uncomfortable going to bed that night, unsure what would happen next, if anything. This would be the first encounter of many to come. The following morning I woke up and was relieved that nothing else weird had happened and that I was still in my bed. Then I remembered. Wait, I saw something last night. I was instantly wide awake and energized, recollecting and blown away by what I witnessed the night before. I had to tell everyone what I saw. My crazy tale would be met with much skepticism and even laughter. If you are an experiencer, I'm sure you know what that's like. This was my first taste of it. It was very difficult to have nobody believe you. It was very isolating and will have you questioning yourself. I tried to tell a close friend and fellow astrophotographer who brushed it off and suggested I probably saw Mars or another planet. I tried to tell my family, some of whom laughed and said the diamond UFO I saw was probably just a drone. Nobody believed me or took me seriously, besides my mother. She was the most understanding, although she had a look on her face like I sounded a little crazy. Either that or she felt bad because no one else believed me and she knew how I felt. Later she would tell me that she had seen one before too. Played by the mockery and disbelief from those close to me, I began to wonder if I truly saw what I saw, or if my eyes and my mind were just playing tricks on me. It was very late at night after all. My excitement began to dull as I questioned if the experience was even real. It felt real though. I then I remembered that I tried to record the first UFO on my cell phone. This could prove if I really saw something. I quickly found and reviewed the footage. In the video, you can see the first hovering light briefly before it fades in and out of focus. As I continued watching, I was shocked to discover that I was still recording when the strange blood orange light turns on down the street and I captured it when I pan over. There is silence, until suddenly the wind begins rustling and I pan the camera back over to the sky and a light appears out of thin air just before it darts to the left, right, up and down, just like I remember. After the UFO displays its quick manoeuvres, you'll hear me say, "What the fuck?" Under my breath, and the video gets shaky when I step back and the craft starts coming toward me, then the video ends.
