And good morning and welcome here to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Day 1, completed at the Republican National Convention. Just the last couple of hours has been amazing here in Milwaukee in terms of the outreach from the Trump campaign. It is no joke. The unions, the young people movement with modeling and former wife to Kanye West's Amber Rose, delivering a remarkable speech, absolutely a wonderful day here at the RNC. But of course, the big moment came. The thunderous applause and welcome, one a smiling former President Donald Trump. 48 hours removed from what happened during the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania walked into this arena to a roaring crowd, and then he sat next to his new vice presidential pick J.D. Vance, the first term Senator of Ohio. And this is what it sounded like a bit as when Mr. Trump made his way in. And it was quite an event at that moment. As we told you earlier, that Mr. Trump would make an appearance. And that is exactly what happened. He is one step closer to a second term. His family members, his sons, Eric Trump officially cast the deciding votes alongside the Trump family to nominate him as the Republican nominee, and here's a bit of what Eric Trump had to say. Florida, 125 delegates, Madam Secretary, and everybody in this great city. On behalf of our entire family, and on behalf of the 125 delegates in the unbelievable state of Florida, we hereby nominate every single one of them for the greatest president that's ever lived, and that's Donald J. Trump, hereby declaring him the Republican nominee for President of the United States of America. First, pursuant to the announcement of the delegation and the rules and procedures of this convention, Florida, 125 votes, President Trump. And so folks, this race is off and running, off and running President Biden, trying to steal the Republican's thunder tonight appeared in an interview on MSNBC, and it became a little feisty at points where Mr. Biden went after the interviewer, Lester Holt, asking him what are you people thinking, and it got a little testy. We'll get to that in just a second. Let's go ahead and open up the phone lines as we take your calls here in Milwaukee, 800-84922-800-84922. Mr. Trump's number two, his brand-new number two on the ticket, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, appeared just a short time ago on Hannity. Here's a bit of what he had to say. I'm sure you've had a very slow day today. Yeah, that's right. Doesn't happen. Pretty boring. Doesn't happen. Pretty boring day. Let's talk about the process. Sure. A lot of questions for you, obviously. What was it like, because the last couple of days, well, it's down to two, you and Senator Rubio. What was that like for you? You know, I just tried to enjoy the ride. It wasn't an honor to be considered. If it had been sooner, it would be obviously Marcus, a good guy, he's a good friend. So I tried to just have a good attitude about it. My family's very excited. Obviously, asking a lot of questions. I will say, Sean, I hope that I'm not betraying too many confidence is here, but when the president called me today, it actually formally offered me to become the vice president's nominee, which just sounds crazy, my son, my seven year old son was sort of making noise in the background. I'm getting so embarrassed. It's like, oh my God, Donald Trump's asking me to be his vice president. So the phone rings, he calls you and you're like, okay, this is the call or maybe not the call. Or maybe it's a bad call, right? It's the call. Who knows whether it's good or bad, but then he actually has me put my seven year old son on the phone. If you think about this, everything that's happened, the guy just got shot at a couple of days ago and he takes the time to talk to my seven year old. It's a moment I'll never forget. And what did he actually say? You know, he just said, look, I think you got to go save this country. I think you're the guy who can help me in the best way. You can help me govern. You can help me win. You can help me in some of these midwestern states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and so forth. And he said rightfully that we have been very, very close for a long time, but especially since I endorsed you in 2022. And I would not have won that race without Donald Trump's endorsement. 808489222, we are taking your calls here at the RNC and Milwaukee, Amber Rose, the model. She spoke a short time ago after the bandage, Mr. Trump with his ear bandage arrived following the assassination attempt again, just 48 hours ago and quoting her when you cut through the lies. You realize the truth. American families were better when Donald Trump was president. Also Teamsters President Sean O'Brien delivering a historic first address at the RNC. O'Brien declared that his union will not be holding to anyone or any party. So it's quite interesting that Trump is making a play for unions as well. In a moment, we'll start with your telephone calls 808489222, another speaker this evening as day number one is over for the RNC happened to be, happened to be, that is Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin. Here's a bit of what he had to say friends, could this election be more simple? It's common sense versus chaos, it's strength versus weakness. Friends it's not just Republicans who see this, it's Republicans, independents and lots of Democrats, it's Americans. Under President Trump America had high growth and low inflation. Under Joe Biden America has low growth and high inflation, 66% of Americans now live paycheck to paycheck, moms and dads worrying can they buy new shoes for their kids going back to school, can they write the tuition check for college, will they ever be able to retire. Under President Trump 2.4 million Americans were lifted out of poverty. President, black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, all saw record low employment. Under Donald J. Trump, we once again will have that rip roaring economy that lifts up all Americans, that is our tomorrow. Governor Glenn Youngkin of Virginia, now so much for the civility. President Joe Biden did an interview tonight with NBC Lester Holt and for 48 hours we've heard nothing but civility coming from Mr. Biden, the current incumbent in this race for the White House. And in this interview, he returned again to going on the attack against Trump. This is with NBC Lester Holt that aired Monday night. Focus on what he's doing. Focus on his policies, focus on the number of lies he told the debate, focus on, I mean there's a whole range of things that look, I'm not the guy that said I want to be a dictator on day one. I'm not the guy that refused to accept the outcome of the election. I'm not the guy who said that won't accept the outcome of this election automatically. You can't only love your country when you win. And so the focus was on what he's saying and I mean the idea. But having you taken a step back and done a little soul searching on things that you may have said that could incite people who are not balanced. So I don't think, look, how do you talk about the threat to democracy, which is real? When a president says things like he says, do you just not say anything? He's a man sight somebody? Look, I'm not engaged in that rhetoric. Now my opponent is engaged in that rhetoric. He talks about to be a bloodbath if he loses, talking about how he's going to forgive all those to spend the sentences of all those who were arrested and sentenced to go to jail because of what happened in the capital. I'm not out there making fun of like when I remember the fixture of Donald Trump when Nancy Pelosi's husband's hit with the hammer going talking about joking about it. President Biden in an interview with NBC news tonight, Dominic Carter here live with you from the RNC and no walkie. Let's begin with your telephone calls, Steve on Long Island. Good morning, Steve. Line two. What's on your mind? Good morning, Dominic. I think that this is a win for the Democrats, but the vice president because he doesn't believe in abortion. God forbid you're going to get raped and something happens and you want to abortion. Okay. Steve, can you ever honestly, man, can you assess something honestly and objectively instead of just always calling up, giving the Democratic line? Yes, I can, but it's true, but it's true. The truth hurts. Okay. This is the one for the Democrat with this VP. I believe. Okay. Well, I unfortunately, Steve, you're incorrect. That's not a win for the Democrats. Trump is running away in the polls. How do you explain that? You won't know until the election day and when the results are ranked. So you can see what you want. All right. All right. That's, that's exactly. I'm not, I'm not a betting, I'm not a betting man. Okay. I will bet you that President Biden will win. Okay. Well, we'll make a nickel bet, we'll make a nickel bet because I am telling you he's not going to win. But Steve, thank you so much for the call. I've got to take a break coming up, folks, at the bottom of the hour, at the bottom of the hour, a congresswoman, Nicole Malia Takis is here with me. She will join me at that point. We will continue with your telephone calls 808489222 live from here in Milwaukee at the RNC. We'll be right back. We are back live here in Milwaukee, day one of the RNC is completed. Let's go back to your telephone calls, 800-84892-22, Teddy Yonkers, New York. Good morning, Teddy. What's on your mind? Hey, Tom. I know I spoke to you this afternoon. I appreciate it greatly, but you took my year again tonight. You don't have to do that, but you did that as a courtesy. I appreciate that. I understand what your previous call was saying. I don't want Trump to win, but I think he will. I think this has galvanized a lot of more Republicans to come out. The main thing that I think he has to do, not just by him, but everybody about civility and the criticism that I have of you is you just talk about the Democrats' incivility. It's both sides, but you have to acknowledge that, and you don't, and I want to know why. Well, Teddy, I'm saying to me why. Okay, I'm trying to, Teddy, but you won't let me get a word in elsewhere. Okay, I just want to ask the question. Okay, go ahead. So now, Teddy, it's my job to professionally analyze things. It has been team Biden that has been on the attack. They've called Trump a racist, the Hitler comparisons. Are you really going to end here with a straight face and say that it's both sides and that the Biden administration, the Biden campaign didn't start this first? Come on, Teddy. I mean, you mean it's like two to the high school? Oh, okay, wait a minute, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, see, see, you're blurring the lines. You said that I don't point out that Trump did it well. Does it as well? My point to you is who started all this mess? That's what I want you to answer because I have to answer it. I don't have the luxury of ignoring the facts. I'll answer it in just a minute. Let me, let me answer like you just said. I'm closed, Biden constantly, but what's President of the United States? That's not. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Teddy, do you not understand the difference between calling somebody the worst president of the United States and calling somebody a racist and a comparison to Hitler? You're really going to compare those two? No. No. You're right. Okay. It's different. But it's still, what he called, he called Biden a piece of crap. Are you saying to me that that's okay? Teddy, you're not answering my question. Mike, what I said. Wait, wait, wait, wait. Teddy, what I said to you is that I don't have the luxury of ignoring the facts. Whether I like them or not, it is my job to tell it the way it is. That is exactly what I'm doing. You still haven't answered who started this mess in terms of attacking each other, punching below the belt, and who has done it consistently? You're not answering the question. I'm going to get started back in 2020. Who are you kidding? In this race. Okay. You're not going to answer the question I see, Teddy, because you're not, you're not being real right now. No, no. I answered questions. I'm, I'm objective. I look in the mirror. You don't do it. You don't do it. My students heard you on the radio today this afternoon, and the other night, they say this guy is just one sided. He's only does his lamp is the Democrats, and he doesn't say anything about the Republicans. And these are intellectually high level people, okay, their engineers are countenance, okay? And these are my former students, and they're minorities, and they're telling me, they said, "Mr. Wattell." He's doing the same thing every time he talks. Okay, Teddy, thank you for the call. When we come back, Congresswoman Nicole Malia-Takis is here, of New York, she will join me and more of your calls, 800-848-9222. Now, from New York City to the world, it's Dominic Carter. And with us right now, Congresswoman Nicole Malia-Takis representing Staten Island, New York, Congresswoman, day one of the convention, big news, JD Vance, number two on the ticket, your immediate reaction. Look, I think JD is somebody who is young, he's dynamic, he's a great speaker, he's a veteran, he is somebody who has an amazing personal story that I think can relate to many Americans, and he comes from a swing state, Ohio. So I think he does bring value to the ticket, and I think he's really somebody who's been out there communicating the message and the agenda that we have, which is we want to secure the borders, we need to bring down inflation, we're going to once again restore prosperity to our economy, create jobs as President Trump did before bringing unemployment down to lowest levels in a long time, and we're going to make America's streets safe again, and I think that, quite frankly, a Trump Vance ticket is a great ticket for the future of this country, and I think it's very exciting for a lot of people. I agree, Congresswoman, let me tell you why I'm a big fan of yours. One, you take on AOC, for that alone, that alone, two, you focus on crime throughout the country, you are no joke, three, you take on the issue of migrants and how much is costing Americans, what do you see as the issues in this presidential race going forward? Well, like I think right now, there's such a stark contrast of where we were under President Trump and where we are now under President Biden, and under President Trump, we had peace through strength. Now, we're supporting two wars, our allies have been attacked, and I think it's because of the weakness portrayed by this administration. We also had a secure border. President Trump was making significant progress, stemming the tide of illegal immigration. Now we have an unprecedented migrant crisis. We know that in New York City, how destructive it has been, costing the taxpayers billions of dollars, crime-increasing two-cop shop, a legal immigrant, as well as a 13-year-old girl raped by an illegal immigrant, all brought here by President Biden. And by the way, they were caught at the border, but they were released, they were directed to be released by this administration, and it is creating so much havoc in our city. So I would say for New York, inflation, the economy, those energy costs, which is a combination, by the way, of a bad state policy that Democrats have put forth, and also a president Biden and his administration has done destroying domestic energy production that has just allowed inflation to rise, food costs, electric costs, all of it. So I think those are the big issues that are facing us, and I think people just want common sense, prosperity to return, and good opportunities for their families. Right now, they can't purchase a home, right? Because the interest rates are so high, and that is because of Joe Biden's policies. Now, while I only have two minutes left here, Congresswoman Nicole Molly Attakis, representing Staten Island, New York, parts of Brooklyn, your reaction to what happened over the weekend. And there are calls for the Secret Service Director to be forced to step down, your take on all of this. Well, I think it's shocking that the Secret Service really hasn't said much the director, and there's certainly questions that Americans have. How did an individual get so close to the president of the United States? How were they able to go up to this rooftop just a few hundred yards and be in a position to do this? If President Trump did not move his head in that last millisecond, he would not be alive today. And that is just so hard to accept. And we need to get accountability and get answers, find out exactly what happened here and who was behind it. But I would also say this. It shows how, and if you look at President Trump the way he got up after, that is the courageous, defiant, the fearless leader that we need today in this country, and the world needs quite frankly. And I think it just built his support because, again, he's a real leader, somebody who's not afraid to fight for us, for America, and he's just unstoppable. But it also highlights and underscores the problems that we have in this country right now and how we have to unite. And I think the person we need to unite behind is him. I close with this, President Biden has finally caved in, given Secret Service Protection to RFK Junior. What do you make of that? Well, I think that's a smart move. I mean, if anyone suffered, knowing what it was not like not to have enough protection, it was Mr. Kennedy. And so I think giving him the protection, he deserves any, any candidates willing to put it themselves out there is going to appear on the ballot deserves to have that type of security and protection, particularly in this day and age. But I think what we really need to do as a country is stop this vile rhetoric. The President Biden just a few days before the shooting said we have to put the bull's eye on Trump. That was not helpful. That type of rhetoric is inflammatory and all the lies that they have told about President Trump to try to destroy him professionally, personally, financially. Ever since he came down that escalator in 2019, I mean, this is all built up to what we saw happen the other day and his tragic and sad and it needs to be reversed. Congresswoman Nicole Molly Attakis, thank you so much for joining us and thank you so much for taking on AOC. Thank you. Oh, I can't. We got rid of Bowman. So one down. We're going to keep on fighting one down and every other member of that squad to go. Bye. Bye. Hopefully Corey Bush will be the next one to lose. Fantastic. Congresswoman. Thank you very much. All right. Thank you. Back to the telephones eight hundred eight four eight nine two two two more Illinois. Good morning. Mora. Welcome to Milwaukee and the RNC. What's on your mind? Well, it sounds like you're having a wonderful time in the dairy state, which makes me very happy. And despite the fact that I'm a little bit lower, but Dominic, I was listening to the first two callers and how hostile and I bet they are. And their emotion is just the opposite of mine. It was so moving to see President Trump, you know, very determined yet somehow changed. There's something I agree, obviously something had to, you know what I mean? I agree. I agree. He's putting on a smile. He's putting on a strong stance and he's a strong man. But it makes me wonder, I thought the same exact thing, Mora, he, how much more can he take in terms of what they're throwing at him? Exactly. And yet, you know, the profound sense of gratitude that I have, you know, just, you know, as an individual, but just for our country as a whole. Because God help us of all, you know, if the shooter had hit the target, I just can't even imagine what would be happening right now. It would not be pretty. It would not be pretty. It would be very ugly for the country. I don't even, I don't even like to think about it, Mora. Your last thought from Illinois this morning before I moved on to Norman in Brooklyn, New York. Go ahead, Mora. Of course, one thing that I have noticed is that in the midst of since the assassination attempt, and even beforehand, people like you and I, people who support Donald Trump are being tagged as Hitlerites, as Nazis, as stooges, as deceived. It is disgusting. I am not welcome at my usual table with friends of 40 years. Wow. To that point of 40 years, Dominic, and yet, and yet all I can hope is that somehow something will get through to all of us so where we can all be civilized, have cordial relationships and not needlessly turn our backs on people that we love and that we can lose more people. So Mora, friends of 40 years have turned their backs on you because you're a Trump supporter. I served with them, Dominic, yes. And then you served as a veteran, you served with them in the military, and they're no longer friends with you because you support Trump? No, because he's the obstacle to a stable republic and also anyone who supports a convicted felon and someone who fomented a coup or attempted a coup. I know what a coup is, and so did they. And they're trying to get me to repent, Dominic. These are actually very intelligent people, and they don't understand it, and they're trying to get me to explain the steps that got me to this place. It's so offensive. Again, it was said in a way that was not meant to be offensive at all. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Mora, and I apologize. I apologize for them because they just don't know, and they don't know what they're talking about, and they are the ones that's falling for the okey-doke, if you will, and I'm so sorry. I know, look, we all love our country, we all love our country, Dominic, and that's what I have to hold really, really deep in my heart, and with the hope that we really came to find turnaround. Thank you for your compassion and kindness tonight. Thank you, Mora. I'm so sorry. Let's go to Norman in Brooklyn. Good morning, Norman, and welcome here to Milwaukee at the RNC. Good morning, David. My sympathies with Mora, I, too, have lost friendships, relationships with people because of my political views, and I think that that's a common threat among a lot of people who call your show. That was the first thing. The second thing, to my dear friend Teddy, Teddy, I hate when people call up Dominic, and they try to pigeonhole you, and I'm not trying to kiss your ass, Dom, because I'm not going to agree with everything you say, but the bottom line is when people call up and try to change your show, "Oh, how come you don't believe this? How come you don't do this?" I find it very offensive. You don't like it. It's Dominic Carter's show. You can do what he wants to do, you don't like it. I'm going to give you a moment of truth right now, Norman, that I normally don't. You know why they do that? Why? They do that because I'm black, and they believe they don't even, I don't even know if they realize it, and they believe that black people are supposed to have a certain point of view. And then here I am talking up Trump, and they just can't comprehend it. They can't understand it. Sort of what Mora just said, and so it's like, and I don't mean, Teddy means well. He gets highly emotional and so on, but, you know, it's Dominic. I'm supposed to say, "A," and you as a black Democrat is supposed to agree with me, and when I don't agree with them, and when they try and beat me down on an emotional level, which I almost think is funny because you're not going to beat me down. I'm a big boy, okay? And I can take, if I can take it from the Mike Bloomberg's, the Hillary's, all the politicians of the last 40 years, do you think a caller is going to be able to make me go, "Oh, you've changed me into changing my position. I hate Trump. It's never going to happen." Now, if Trump does something on the merits that I don't agree with, that's a different story. But I have not witnessed that thus far. Go ahead, Norman. No, I just, it bothers me when people call up and they try to, like, okay, you know, these contrarians, like Steve, they call up and they would, they'd bet you, there are plenty of talk shows out there, okay, like WBAI, okay, is a station which is devoted to nothing but Trump haters, okay? They can call there, okay, and get on and talk about, you know, how wonderful abortion is and whatever. I mean, they are welcoming those avenues there. This is, you know, look, I consider WABC my home because, yeah, and of course it's open to everybody. This is a forum for people who are more conservative and I look at it, I look at it, Norman, as a forum for everybody, no matter what, no, no, no, I, it's just the way I look at it, no matter what your political views may be, I look, that's the way I look at it. So we had to find a word before I move on. I can't call WBAI. If I tried to call them, they would hang up on that. There's no way, if I called up that station, that they would put me on the air, okay? I'm a Nazi fascist to them, you know, and there's no way that they, even I'm Jewish, there's no way they would put me on the air, okay? So I'm just saying, you know, I just think for the non-conservative to call the show, they should recognize that, you know, recognize that, that this is a play, you know, nobody's hanging up on them, you know, and anyway, that's it, but anyway, another thing about Teddy. But Joseph Kennedy, man. So the thing is, listen, I can't, I can't really criticize him because the man is going to vote for Joseph Kennedy as he told you. Well, I hear you, I don't like the mock people, Norman, thank you, thank you for the call. Thank you very much. I am going to take a break. When we come back, we see your calls still coming in and we are live here in Milwaukee. Day one of the RNC is complete. Things get back underway at 5 p.m. today, 5 p.m. today, we're going to take a break. More of your calls when we come back. This is Dominic Carter. Now from New York City to the world, it's Dominic Carter. We are back live here in Milwaukee, day one of the RNC, complete day two starting at 5 p.m. This afternoon up until the top of the hour, we are taking your telephone calls live here in Milwaukee. Let's go to Gracie, Rockland County, New York, line three. Good morning, Gracie. What's on your mind? Good morning. Listen, I'm not voting for Biden. Not because I hate him, I just don't agree with his policies and the way the country is running now. I voted for Trump originally because I believe he would change the country for the better. And the four years, even with the COVID, the country, in my opinion, economically, internationally and with other countries, was run better. And that is why I'm voting for him again. People, it's not enough people to say, I hate him and I'm not voting for him. I'm not voting for him because he's a Nazi. And as far as the rhetoric, I want to know, I could match what rhetoric do the people on the right side. You could tell not to the Gen D others, look at MSNBC, look at CNN, everything they're spouting. What about the view? That's a nasty, fresh rhetoric. Maybe I'm not listening to the right shows because I haven't heard really bad rhetoric on the right. So even, I don't even know if you say his policy, the Biden's policy is all in good, or he's the worst president, that's an opinion and your basic is on fact by saying this thing to this thing. So I'm going to use it. Let me just say this. I want you to continue. I'm glad I'm glad I'm glad that you just spelled it out. There are certain things that people say sometimes that is so ridiculous. I won't even respond to it. So when Trump says Biden is the worst president ever, that's not a personal attack, that's an opinion based upon the person's track record. As you just said, when you call somebody Hitler many times, when you call them a racist many times, when you say, oh, I hear you're free on Wednesdays, that's not funny when Trump was in the fight of his life at that trial. So there are certain things, Gracie, and I won't even respond to because I can't respond to every silly, stupid comment that's made, continue before I move on. And basically, you're 100% right and I never heard it clearly at the talk show host, that's like beyond belief. And I feel sorry for the way that I think she was in Illinois, honey, I know for me. I lost two kindergarten friends, okay, over politics and I don't talk, but they talk and they talk ridiculously and on that note, by it next time I call you God willing, I'll be calling from New York. Bye, bye. Fantastic, Gracie. Thank you. Let's go to Corey actually in Rockland County, New York, line five. Good morning, Corey. Welcome to Milwaukee live here at the RNC. Thank you. Good morning, Dominic. A long time caller calling to your show here and I told your guy there, I wanted to, I'm a police officer and, you know, I wanted to hopefully use your platform to thank President Trump for everything he's doing, everything he's done and wish him well and wish him speedy recovery and, you know, I know he's already recovered because he makes it his position to go to police funerals and to reach out to the families and I'm sure a lot of ones we don't know about, obviously most recently in New York City, you know, Officer Dilla's death, he shows up, of course, the, the last ones to make it a political thing and I don't think that's it. I think it was genuine, you know, and I think he does genuinely support police in law and order and from myself and to all the law enforcement that do support him and support law and order, I wanted to say thank you to him and we hope he's well and hopefully he gets to him. I would have read, wrote to him or something, but who knows where these things really go and I think perfect opportunities, this platform that you have, hopefully the word gets out to him. Well, Corey, thank you for the call and thank you for your service as a law enforcement officer. It means the world to the rest of us for the sacrifice that you and your family are making.
