Dominic Carter here with you folks, let's go ahead and open up the phone lines right now, 800-848-9222. We'll get to your calls in just a second, I see the first call coming in right now is from Missouri. We'll get to that in just a few minutes, so please stand by. President Biden insisting he is staying in the race in his hour-long news conference. He gave no indication, he would consider dropping out and made the case that the quote "gravity of the situation at hand calls for experience." But, but a big but, his aides promised a big boy news conference, whatever that means, and the gaffes keep on coming. At the start of the news conference, fumbling the very first question Thursday night, calling his running mate Kamala Harris, Vice President Trump. Trump responding almost in real time, stating on social media, "Great job, Joe," the ex-President wrote. This as a new poll shows that Trump leads in the 24 election that shows only 24 percent of voters think President Biden is mentally sharp, only 24 percent. And team Trump doing the right thing, because this will be overturned. The former president files to vacate the Manhattan hush money conviction, citing the scotest decision, the decision from the Supreme Court on presidential immunity. By, by conviction, Trump is ahead of Biden by four points, and less than a quarter of Americans believe the incumbent president is mentally sharp. According to the survey released Thursday, the Pew Research Center of more than 7,000 registered voters found Trump leading Biden in the horse race, 44 percent to 40 percent. With 15 percent, 15 percent backing independent candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr. At the start of his news conference, fumbling the very first question Thursday night again, and you listen for yourself, calling his running mate Kamala Harris, Vice President Trump. President Harris' ability to beat Donald Trump if she were at the top of the ticket. Look, I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be Vice President, but I think she's not qualified to be president, so let's start there. Number one. I think the president meant to say if she were not qualified to be president, it's very hard to make out exactly what he said. Let's play that back one more time. I'm really trying to understand what he said. President Harris' ability to beat Donald Trump if she were at the top of the ticket. Look, I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be Vice President, but I think she's not qualified to be president, so let's start there. Number one. Unfortunately, obviously the Trump misstatement, but it sounds awfully close to the president stating she's not qualified. Folks, I'm confused. You know, I, I, it's elder abuse, and it just can't, this is really sad, and it's really sad for the country, and look at how America is being portrayed around the world. So that's mistake one. Earlier in the day, earlier in the day, introducing Ukraine's leader, not as President Zelensky who was standing right to his side, but instead as President Putin of Russia. Now, Mr. Biden quickly corrected himself, but about all the things to call Zelensky, his nemesis that he's at war with Putin. Again, the president quickly corrected himself. And now I want to hand it over to the president of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin. I'm so focused on beating Putin. We got to worry about it. Anyway, Mr. President. I'm better. You are a hell lot better. And if you're Zelensky, what do you do in that situation? You make a joke out of it. Ukraine needs the U.S. still for major financial help, major military equipment. All you can do is in that situation. You make a joke of it. It's all very, very sad. The good news this morning. Team Trump filing to vacate the Manhattan hush money conviction citing the scotest decision on presidential immunity. Team court did the right thing, and progressives and liberals are our spitting mat, but it was the right decision to make. And so the lawyers for Mr. Trump, they say that is that state Supreme Court Justice Warren Morsant was duty bound, duty bound to undo. The judge, Trump's conviction, in light of the ruling, and argued that no president had been treated as unfairly and unlawfully as Trump. Amen. That's exactly what happened. That's why I say that that I'm not referring to the jury as a kangaroo court, but I say he was convicted in a kangaroo court. There's no way in the world Trump should have been convicted on this nonsense. And I know Steve that calls sometimes it says from Newark, New Jersey, sometimes it says from Manhattan, Steve likes to say Trump a convicted felon. Hopefully if he calls again, he'll say something different this time. But to say convicted felon, it means absolutely nothing. Because this case is going to be overturned. The judge's hands are tied. He is going to have no other choice. But here's the great news. Even if he tries to go forward with this. Remember, it is actually today that Trump was supposed to be sentenced, but in light of the Supreme Court ruling, the judge pushed it back to September. And he has no other choice, but to overturn the conviction. And the great news is if he refuses to do so, an appellate court will do exactly that. And in the filing for Team Trump. And in a moment, I'm going to Missouri to first call this morning. And so in the filing, it says, rather than wait for the Supreme Court's guidance. Yes, that's exactly what should have happened. The same way that the feds pause their case is what my shot should have did in Manhattan. The filing says the prosecutor scoffed with hubris at Trump's immunity motions and insisted on rushing to trial. That's exactly what happened. And so now, we're looking at a situation where it is going to be overturned. Let's go to select. I believe that's how you pronounce your name in Missouri. Good morning. What's on your mind? Good morning. Let me talk about this press conference a little bit that the president held. It's honestly so incredibly disheartening and just saddening that, you know, the leader of the free world is this bumbling and coherent old man that's in charge of our country. I mean, it just makes me so sad that this is what we're at. And there's what was it like 25% of registered voters that believe that he is this, you know, great leader that's completely coherent and confident and has great cognitive ability. I mean, it's just, I want to know what those people are smoking. Honestly, I mean, I had a pain. By now, you just heard us play it, but by now you're aware of the news conference. What did you make? Did you think the gaps were minor? What did you make of them? It's honestly nothing new. I mean, we saw the same exact thing in the presidential debate. The only difference this time is that he had key cards and he still messed up almost every question that he was given. I mean, he had reporters that he was supposed to talk to and call on. And he referenced that list constantly. I mean, it's honestly nothing new. We've seen the same exact thing since the very beginning of his presidency. If anything, it's gotten worse. Right. You know, I look at the process from two ways. So I'm from the school of thought in terms of being in major news conferences where reporters defer to those with seniority. So, so in New York City, whenever it would be a mayor with a major news conference, it would almost go first either gay pressman who was a legendary reporter at WNBC TV or myself. Or it might be a print reporter, David Seifman from the New York Post, longtime city hall bureau chief who's now retired. And we would go back and forth on who would ask the first question of the mayor of New York City. And so that's one way of doing it where you literally the press corps yells their questions all at once. And it's very hard to hear. And so politicians have switched to, especially the White House going back to before Obama, where they come up with a list of questions and that's the dangerous part, because they still have power to decide who is going to ask the question. And he who decides he she who decides who asked the question. They have the power. So I'm a little skeptical of the system. I understand the need why why it needs to be done so that you don't have a million reporters shouting at one time at the president. But it permits the White House or any state house or any city hall to have a role in the process. And they should have no role at all. Did it shock you that the president was reading from the list of questions? No, no, not honestly. And it's like we had talked about before with the reporters. You know, he at least got a general idea of what those reporters would be asking him. And so he had, you know, he was late to the press conference. And so I'm sure that during that time he had time to go over possible questions, get some last minute tips that he could write down on a key card or look over. But yeah, I mean, no, not surprising the slightest. Well, thank you for the call this morning from Missouri. We are going to take a break. Dominic Carter here with you. Again, folks, keep in mind. I'll be back for my day side show three to four p.m. Eastern standard time after that. And also for the weekend show with a former Congressman Anthony Wiener. After that, I'm off to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention. And I will be broadcasting from there starting Sunday night, Sunday nights program from Milwaukee. We will be right back. [MUSIC PLAYING] Now, from New York City to the world, it's Dominic Carter. And we are back live taking your telephone calls. Let's go to Sam in Las Vegas. Good morning, Sam. Not nighttime, not AM yet in Vegas, but what's on your mind? About 930 out here, PM. No, I listened to the president, and he sounded sad. I couldn't listen that much. This guy's lost. Something is definitely wrong with him. But what I'm afraid of is will the Republicans blow it again? Let's go back to 2020. All the polls came in that the Republicans are going to win. They're going to take the Senate. They're going to take the House. And nothing happened. We have an easy election coming up. The Republicans should have a landslide. But will they do it? Or will they stay home and sit on their hands and just talk about it? That's all. No, no, no. Sam, not in this case. Trump is a rock star. He's motivating the base. The more they come after him with this nonsense, and it's about to be overturned in court. That won't happen this time around. I'm not afraid of Trump. I'm afraid of the American voters, the Republican voters. Are they going to get off their behinds and get out and vote? That's my fear. With the AOCs out there of the world and what we're seeing, with these progressives, you're going to see a motivated base. Mark my word on that, Sam. I hope so. Listen, you have a good show. I'll catch you in the afternoon here. We'll catch you at night. Keep up with it. Fantastic. Fantastic. 3-4 Eastern Standard Time, midnight to 1 a.m. Dimitri in Colorado. Good morning, Dimitri. What's on your mind? My Dominic, getting back to what you were talking about concerning his cognitive ability, he just, he can't do it anymore. And what's the first sign of people who are cognitively disabled? They're defiant. That's the first thing. The second thing is the job of the president, they were talking about his schedule today when he sleeps at eight and what have you. Here is the schedule for president. First of all, you're open 24/7. And if you're technically what he is, which is what he is, a wartime president, guess what? You sleep when you can. That's the job. If you can't hang, you've got to step off. It's real simple. Well, maybe that's why we see from George W. Bush to Obama why they develop gray hair. So, Dimitri, perhaps you're correct. You know, it is a 24/7 job. But in fairness to Biden and to every other president, they have to get rest, Dimitri. I mean, you will concede that, correct? You're right. But I look at the great president, Lincoln, 12 to 16 hours a day, who is my hero. I studied him thoroughly. Look at him. Yeah, he had a war to conduct. But guess what? It comes with the job. And there are some people who are special, like Trump is special. You know, when Trump was president, I was telling my girlfriend all the time, when does this guy sleep? He's either on a plane or he's going to McDonald's eating on the run. This is true. This is true or up tweet late at night or early in the morning. Yes. And these and these are fresh conferences that he holds. They're talking phony shows. You're supposed to be able to take it off the cuff. No notes. No cards. Nothing. You're next. Your next question. Next question. You got to take incoming. That's the way the way that Trump did. So Dimitri in Colorado, thank you for the call. We are going to take a break. When we come back, we will continue. It wasn't a good day Thursday for President Biden as far as the gaffes. But he says he's not going anywhere. He's going to stay in the race. We will be right back. Dominic Carter here with you. And again, starting Sunday night will be with you from Milwaukee, Wisconsin as the RNC. The Republican National Convention gets underway. All of this in terms of a rough day for President Biden, a number of gaffes, a new poll shows Trump ahead with by four points. And this is a poll from the Pew Group, the Pew Research Center. And it shows that only 24% of voters think President Biden is mentally sharp. Only 24%. Before we go back to the calls, I want you to listen to this. Listen to this. This is President Biden at his news conference. Now, he had already referred to Kamala Harris in terms of Vice President as Trump. But the President says that all those stories, all those stories about him having an early bedtime is not accurate. The presidency is the most straining job in the world, and it's 24/7. How can you say you'll be up for that next year, in two years, in four years, given the limits you've acknowledged that you have today? The limits I've acknowledged I have. There's been reporting that you've acknowledged that you need to go to bed earlier and your evening around eight. That's not true. Look, what I said was, instead of my everyday starting at seven and going to bed at midnight, it'd be smarter for me to pace myself a little more. And I said, for example, the eight, seven, six stuff, instead of starting a fundraiser at nine o'clock, starting at eight o'clock, people get to go home at ten o'clock. That's what I'm talking about. I'm not talking about. And if you look at my schedule since I've since I made that stupid mistake in the campaign in the debate, I mean, my schedule has been full bore. President Biden, let's go back to the telephone calls, Vincent line three, Brooklyn, New York, Vincent, what's on your mind? Dominic, most of the American news media are not going to report this, and I know you're a fair and open-minded person, but today, Victor Ober, and the president of Hungary, broke with tradition as a member of the European community, and also as a member of NATO. He came out and publicly endorsed Donald Trump for president, and the other of union members were kind of angry at him because he broke with tradition. They're not supposed to apparently come out and endorse people from other countries around the world in their candidacy. And he did, and he also met with President Putin, and he also met with G, but he broke with position of European tradition. And also, he said Trump being like figure himself. When the European Union said, you have to take all these migrants from the Arabic countries, he said, no, I don't have to do that. And in fact, he put up a fence in certain places, and when they say, well, you got to follow what we want you to do, because in the European community, they vote on all these laws and stuff. He says, no, I don't have to follow that. He says, I'm following with the best of my people. And he's a very Trumpian-like person. He went against the grain in the past, and he's going against the grain now because he sees what's going on in France with Macron. Even though the conservatives won a large part of the election, Macron is cobbling together all these leftists and everything, and they were riots in the streets of Paris last week. By the leftists who don't want to give up, they don't want to give it up. But that's the deal. And you're not going to hear any American news media reporting on it. And I'm bilingual, so I'm not only looking here, American news, and listening to great shows like yourself and other stuff on WABC are the great shows, but I listened to a lot of European news shows because I am bilingual. And that's the deal. He came out today and endorsed Trump because they think alike, I believe. I hear you, but that's why when Trump says America first, that's why he resonates in ways that the establishment cannot understand or comprehend. When Trump comes out and says the first thing he's going to do is migrants have to go, that's why he resonates in ways that the establishment does not understand Vincent, thank you for the call. Let's go to Dave and Comac, line four. Dave, good morning. What's on your mind? You'll never ever pay me enough to vote for Trump. There is no way I would ever vote for that guy. Ever. I would vote for the Pope, then vote for Trump. Okay, so now tell me why. So you want the country to stay with President Biden in which his age... I don't want to go on that, but I'm not voting for Trump. I would vote for Clinton and Harris, Mrs. Obama. Okay, but Dave, but those are not your options right now. They're not, but they're not your options, but they're not. Your options right now are Biden and Trump, R.F.K. Jr. and other minor party candidates, so you say you won't vote for Trump, so what do you do? Either going to be Kennedy or I vote for Biden. So you would still vote for Biden? That's right. Listen, he may have from time to time some stumbling, but guess what? Trump, here on the campaign trail, is pretty much doing similar things. And Trump is a convicted felon. And Trump caused January 6th, January 6th, uprising. Trump is a dictatorship attitude and trying to get rid of abortion, which he succeeded in doing. Okay, so Dave, so Dave, so I get it. I get it. You don't like Trump, but you would rather vote for a president that, because I deal in reality. And the reality is Biden or Trump, and you're telling me with a straight face... I'm not feeling what I'm telling you that. I'm not talking to everyone else right now. I'm talking with you. You're telling me with a straight face that you would rather... Wait a minute. You're not even letting me get the question out. You would rather vote for someone that referred to... When he's talking about Zelensky, he called him Putin. And when he's referring to his own running mate, he called her Trump. You're telling me that you're comfortable with voting for that. You would rather vote for somebody who calls the military... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. This doesn't work if you ask me a rhetorical question. It doesn't work that way. So, because we could stand here all night long, all morning long, asking each other questions. Okay, the answer to your question is I would rather vote for Biden regardless. Okay, all right. I got it, Dave. Thank you very much for the call. We understand how Dave feels and come back. Gracie, Rockland County, New York. Let's see what Gracie has to say. Good morning, Gracie. What's on your mind? Good morning. Listen first. Safe trip to Wisconsin. That's the most important thing. Thank you. Thank you. I will. I rate Gracie. I will be back. We have producers and engineers already there setting up and ready to go. And so, I literally, when I hit the ground running, we go right to the broadcast booth and do the show Sunday night. But go right ahead, please. Okay. Listen, you know, I had some points, but Dave, there's no guess it is answer why. Okay. Then he threw out abortion. He loves Biden. Trump did not say he's going to get rid of abortion. Then he started to say something with the soldiers. You know, that quote that they would say that crumped up them like the soldiers. These people do not have the two facts. They really do. They have facts that are part of facts that are shaded. Now, you are correct. Right. Yes. Good question. They read. Wait, Gracie, Gracie, your phone is breaking up. Just try maybe standing in one area and try it again. Go ahead. How's it? That sounds good now. Go ahead. Okay. They're not all right. The press secretary yesterday mentioned Biden to achievement. One of them was the infrastructure. What did he do with the infrastructure? He spent money. But we still have holes in the street and the bridges are falling. Then she said something about I didn't even know what the second thing was. Cryptocurrency. I didn't even understand that. And tonight, Biden, I did listen to everything. I'm sure he said he created 2000 jobs last week. I mean, everything was the same thing, the statement, but not a hundred percent truthful. There was a shading with everything. And the Republicans and one of the other courts previously said, they need to get good commercials on the dummy television shows to explain to the people the truth of what is going on. Because most of the people do not understand the whole picture. Great. And that's it. Thank you, Dominic. Thank you, Gracie. So we just spoke to Dave. And, you know, I understand his passion and I get it. He doesn't like Trump. But how could you say that you're comfortable voting for a man that appears to have his mental capabilities, capacities are diminishing as will happen to all of us if we're fortunate to reach his age. But how could you feel comfortable voting for that? I just, I don't get it, folks. I really don't. Let's go to Mike, line three, Queens, New York. Good morning, Mike. What's on your mind? Yes, sir. D.C. in the house. Great show. Thank you. Real quick, I just want to say that I think there should be a class action suit from the people who donated the Biden campaign. Because this charade has been going on for six months and there may have been some people who donated big money. And basically what I see now is that Biden was being pimped out by his Democratic party and they knew he was full box like at least six months ago. I mean, they should return the campaign contributions. Oh, and by the way, I think the Republicans just start making it a little clearer that the Democrats are the ones who we are not going to vote for because they've screwed everything up. I mean, as much as they say, Oh, you know, Biden Biden Biden, we see that there were some invisible forces at hand big time. And as much as they want to say, well, Biden's gone. Now everything's going to be happy. Don't worry. No, no, no, no, you got a lot of behind the scenes puppeteers who screwed everything up and they should pay the price. And honestly, I think the only thing Biden's been running for the last six months is the 30th diaper. And that's if we're taking my call. Wow. Okay, Mike. I'm not. Thank you for the call. I'm not. I'm not going to go there. There are some things that I won't touch and that that's that's one of them. I understand it's part of life, but I'm not going to go there. But I am what I'm going to do right now is go to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And let's say good morning to Jim Jim what's on your mind and I'll be seeing you great folks in Milwaukee and about what under 48 hours, but go right ahead. What's on your mouth. I can't wait to have you here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You know, I'm a nightly listener. I've called in a few times about the migrants. They're starting to work their way out from Chicago now and you can always tell who they are by their dress really nice. You know what I mean? They're getting that free cash. But what I want to do is give you just a couple of restaurant tips. If you can't get out of your room, you want to order from real chili. Oh, this stuff is you're not going to find it in any other city. And then the other tip I have is Miss Katie's diner. That's not too far away. And every president that's ever. Come to Milwaukee is eating at Katie's diner. So, really? Okay. Okay. Yeah. Well, hey, Jim, let me just burst a myth here when you're on convention coverage. And I've done about 20 of them throughout the years. There's very little time to order and get something to eat. It's nonstop work from from sun up to sundown. And you often have to stay at the convention headquarters because you don't want to go through the secret service back online again for hours to get back in. So, for example, so for the 3pm show that we do, I will probably have to be there to be safe. By 11 a.m. your time and then stay all the way straight through up until the midnight show. So, you guys are an hour behind us time wise. So, the show will be airing at 11 p.m. your time. And we probably won't get out of there until 1 30 in the morning, then turn around. It's not, it's not a party situation for the reporters working at the gym. I do have to move on. I apologize because I've got to take a commercial break. And we're going to do exactly that when we come back on this Friday morning more of your telephone calls from the New York region and from around the country. This is Dominic Carter. Let's go to Jimmy Staten Island, New York Line 1. Good morning, Jimmy. What's on your mind? Good morning, my Dominic. Please try to understand me. I am so irate right now at that ignorant, ignorant David. I'll vote for anybody. I'll vote for anybody but Trump. How about the people or soldiers that were blown up on Biden's watch? How about the other three right afterwards? How about they made me see us in the helicopter on Biden's administration? How about him looking at his watch as I sat in my living room in my parlor with my eyes, tearing the crying for those men coming off the plane, draping our beautiful flag, and him looking at his watch. And I got to worry about this. And so David's vote, he doesn't raise it Americans and me. Somebody like him is the reason why we're in such perilous of times. He is in my book and David, if you're listening, go scratch your ass. You're no good. Thank you, Dominic. I love you. Thank you, Jimmy. Love you as well on this on this Friday morning. I do appreciate your passion. You know, Dave is entitled to his view. He hates Trump. Well, you better get used to it because Trump is coming back to the White House. Robin, Cape May, New Jersey. Good morning, Robin. What's on your mind? Hey, how you doing? Couple things. One I wanted to say that you do such a great job. And I also spoke to you a few days ago when I was talking about my sprinkler. I remember, I remember and you were talking about the, I think the Trump rally you mentioned. But go ahead, Robin. Yeah. Now, I just want to say that, you know, it's, when I'm down to my mom's, I don't hear a lot of news and I end up listening at night like this. I don't know who can get us out of here, but Trump. And I know that news. I agree with you. And, but that's, what else you didn't do. And we're in a bad place and I hope to God that he wins and I hope to God that this gets done. And what little news I've caught while I'm down here, it's time for him to go. I, you know, it's, it's elder abuse. We're referring to President Trump. I mean, he's president Biden. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. I mean, well, well, I am telling you, and I've been doing this a long time, Trump is going to win the election. So, so that part, that part is over. It doesn't matter what Democrat they put up. He's going to win. You're going to see a coronation in Milwaukee within a matter of a few days for Trump. You're going to see Americans, Robin. You're going to see white, black, Asian, Latino, all coming together for Trump. Sort of like what the Democratic Party used to look like at their conventions. But now the Democratic Party is nothing but this progressive, crazy, socialist AOC run. And it's just not good for America. So you don't live in Cape May, right? You're there visiting your parents? I think you said. It's my mom that I'm, you know, I'm actually from up North in Hunterton County, but I said a lot of time taking care of my mom. I might unfortunately lost too many family members recently. So I'm down here a lot. Well, I'm glad to hear that you're there with your mom. It's important. You can't get that time back. Robin, thank you for the, for the call. And it's hot. So hopefully it's not too hot in Cape May. I've been through there. It's a gorgeous area. Thank you for the call, Robin. Let's go from New Jersey to Philadelphia. Robert, good morning, Robert. What's going on? Hi, darling. It's great to talk to you. Love the show. I know I got to be quick. Dave is an example of, if you can choose somebody that you know isn't up to the job, just because of his party, that is pure party over country. He doesn't care about the country. He cares about the Democratic Party. And I hope Biden is there for him to vote for. I truly do. But what I'm loving is how long do you, I want to ask you a question, darling. How long do you think the media can carry on this charade of being an impartial purvey or of information to the American public after the last four years? I mean, everything they've lied about. Everything. What do you think? Well, well, you know, I might have time. Robert, the charade is up. It's up. Nobody can cover this for President Biden anymore. And it's ugly by the day. Folks, this program, the next time you hear from me, it will be from Milwaukee. Have a great day, folks. At King Super's Pharmacy, care is what's most convenient for you.
