With each whispered word and gentle rhyme, let's embark on a journey towards bedtime. We'll snooze all night long as our gum trees sway, till the sun returns with a brand new day. Over a garden centre in a little town, the orange sun was going down, sunlight danced, casting a golden gleam, and the hedgehog wandered in as if in a dream. Her name was Muffy, she lived in the shop, in a house she'd made within a plant pot. Muffy the hedgehog would go out to row, then pad back through to her lovely warm home. She'd spend all day in the village outside, from the park to the forest, she'd journeyed so wide. Muffy had played with a dock in a garden, and snuffled some peanuts from a small cottage larder. She'd met with a deer, and brushed at its feet, and chatted with rabbits, sharing acorns to eat. She'd scurried round shrubs with leaves green and lush, and tiptoed monk's ferns, rustling through brush. She'd nibbled on berry, so juicy and ripe, and chased fluttering butterflies, playful in flight. She splashed in the fountain, with water so cool, and basked in the sunshine, by the community pool. Now it was time to toddle back home, to the garden centre, where she was never alone, to the place that she lived and dreamed all night, where she went when the stars shone above so bright. Through the outdoor section, she padded so slow, sniffing the roses and lavender, row after row. In the greenhouse, she brushed against exotic blooms, smiling faces across the warm green room, then to the indoors, where plants thrive and grow. Shelves of tools and wellies, in rows down below, a fernsway gently, a cactus stood tall. Each plant had a smile in this garden hall, with every step her smile did spread, as each flower smiled back and nodded its head. In every corner, there was beauty to be found, and another new friend growing from the ground. So through the garden centre, she happily went, amidst flowers and foliage and under the garden bench. She passed the wheelbarrows and the fish tanks out back, passed the sheds and the decking, and shovels on their rack. Have prickles so soft and her eyes warm and brown, she'd got never sleepier as she strolled home from town. Now she moved slow, and yawned as she went, her little paws tired and her energy spent. She crossed near a sunflower, tall and so bright, she said, "Hello, sunflower, are you doing alright?" He said yes, he was, and asked her in return. She said she was good, and then asked the fern. Next came a rose, all regal and pretty, to match her smile, and her laugh so witty. The rose said good evening, and reached out a thorn. Muffy met it with a prickle, and a smile so warm. She then passed the daisy, so cheery and bright, and wished them all a wonderful night. She told them their colours were ever so sunny, as bright and as golden as sun drenched honey. The tulips were growing from their bulbs to the sky, Muffy congratulated them, but they blushed or shy, then they said thank you and wished her sweet dreams. She waved with her prickles and chuckled and beamed. The hedgehog met pansies, with faces so cute, and marigolds too, in their orangey suits. She met lilies and daffodils, geraniums too. Each one wished goodnight, and she said, "And to you." Through the vegetable section, from apples to beets, the hedgehog explored with her tiny hedge feet, with flowers as friends and sunshine above, she felt oh so happy in the garden she loved. As the day bid adieu with the sun painted bright, the moon began to glow with its soft silver light, through the garden she went, with a skip and a hop, to her cozy little bed, in a flower pot. With a rustle and shuffle, she made her way to her snug little nook, and said goodbye to the day. In the soft brown soil she nestled just right, ready to sleep through another long night. The petals above, like a canopy spread, gently whispering lullabies as she rested her head. After twinkling stars, one hundred or more, the hedgehog drifted off and started to snore. In her flowery bed she snuggled up tight, in a world of her own where everything's right. But in this cozy haven, under the moon's gentle beam, the hedgehog found solace in her flower pot dream. Your furry friends rest in the trees, and dreams of adventure float in the breeze. Close your eyes, little one so small, it's time to sleep now, one and all. On a cloud to dreamland, you'll gently sway, sleepy koalas rest well till day. The stars are friends, who softly gleam as you journey into your happy dream, with tender wishes and love from the moon. Slowly tight, their tots will see you soon. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace.
