True Hauntings

Case 65: Jedburgh Castle Jail - Spectres, Hangings and touches by unseen hands

The town of Jedburgh is situated in the Scottish Borders, and is home to a jail infamous for its terrible conditions and the cruelty that was dealt out to the prisoners.

Torture and violence was common during it’s time so it is no surprise that the old jail has a terrifying reputation.

During past ghost hunts at Jedburgh Jail apparitions and dark shadows have been seen and cell doors have slammed shut by unseen hands. Flashes of light are regularly seen and cold spots, breezes and blasts of cold air are felt in closed rooms.

Jedburgh Castle Jail was built in 1823, purposely resembling a castle to pay tribute to the medieval castle “Iedd-brugh’ that once stood on that same spot.

Sounds creepy right?!!

We explore the history of this site and the hauntings that happen there in this episode of the True Hauntings Podcast.

Let's see if it is really haunted.

Don't forget we are heading to many of the spooky locations we have talked about in previous episodes as we travel to England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

We just spent the night at the Jamaica Inn!
