Case 27: The Exorcism of Roland Doe
It all began with a 13-year-old boy, a bookish child born to a German American Protestant family in 1948. An alleged true haunting went on the catch the imagination of a creative writer named William Blatty while he was still at University. This led him to write one of the most controversial books of its time “The Exorcist”. This book led to a film that was released in cinemas in 1973 leading film goers hysterical, frightened and horrified by what they witnessed happening in front of them on the screen. In this episode we did deep into the truth behind the book that changed so much about what we thought about demons.
