A police officer confirmed the park was not evacuated, but people were reluctant to stay. The city provided a sign up link for text alerts about the fireworks show, but there were no notifications that went out. The city of Raleigh said the show was "not the grand display that we planned. We initially had a rain delay and threat of lightning and then technical difficulties shortened the show." A rollover crash in Durham this morning knocked out power to nearly 2,000 people and power is not slated to be restored until 2 o'clock this afternoon. Now mind you, today's expected high is 102 degrees as I mentioned a little bit ago. The crash happened at Washington at making streets just before 2 o'clock this morning, and the vehicle involved in the crash managed to cause power lines to land on top of it.
