If you're an athlete, you know the greatest motivator of all is the fear of letting your teammates down. After all, a team is only as good as its weakest link, so you owe it to those wearing the same jersey as you to be your best every time you step on the field. That's why there's no vape in team. When you vape, you can expose your lungs to toxic chemicals that can damage your lungs. If you're a step behind, the team's a step behind. Brought to you by the real cost and the FDA. Tech's are rolling in on the Har Courts Open line this morning. Har Courts are more than just real estate professionals. Of course, 0437, 5535. That's what David of Launceston has done. He says, Tim, since 2021, Launceston has lost its Super Netball game, A-League Soccer content, BBL and W-BBL games, and now is in grave danger of losing its two NBL games. This is a sad loss of high level sport in the north of the state. Let's go through that. I believe they're losing W-BBL and BBL, are they? Correct. The state is going to be out of action for this summer whilst they get the upgrades that they need to make sure they can keep high levels for the venue, but disappointing this year, yes? Yes. I think the silver dome will happen. Do you? Yeah. It needs to happen. Definitely. I remember the sprint. I remember Larry Kesselman putting this on the table three years ago, but it needed some serious upgrades. You can't televise from there. Yadda, yadda, yadda. And we're three years on, and it still hasn't happened. Yep. The pressure's on now though, Tim, because they will lose those games if it's not done before the season starts. Oh, definitely. But that has to remain. If it's taken longer than three years to get it done, it's just going to happen now in the next two months. Two months. I think basketball's going to have to. It's going to have to. But unless we have a venue it can come to if required, I guess. But as Christine Finning in the sea, I said the other day, the other teams haven't been happy with the setup up there, and we've got the Sydney Kings, the Glamour Club, and the comp coming to town. They're not going to put up with it a second rate venue, so it needs to be done before the start. We're actually the Glamour team at the competition. We are. We're not going to put up with that. The Jack Jumpers deserve and need better facility if they're going to play proper NBA all games in one system, and they've been asking for it for three years. So it's not the Sydney Kings, it doesn't matter who they're playing. The Jack Jumpers deserve that, and the High Performance Center, and both need to be done. ASAP. We'll talk about this with Scott later when he joins us, Scott Roth, but he made a very good point the other day. He's seen his teachers of McCorried Point, blah, blah, all splashed around the news. This is a team that's here now, and we've said this before on the show. They're here now, and they still don't have a high performance in it, and we're worried about the team that's not even here yet for another three years about what that's going to look like. Let's look after the team that's already on the ground and just want to championship. Anyway, we'll talk about that. Let's do them later. Let's do them well. Yep. Definitely. The numbers of what they've done for basketball in this state has been extraordinary. What they've done for sport and how they've brought the state together just in general has been extraordinary. I think that we're going into our fourth season with everything that they've been able to achieve, and we still haven't had upgrades to their second venue, and they still haven't started digging a hole to build the Mahi Performance Center. It's just not good enough. It's not. I'll tell you what is good though, Tim, and that was the work that Jack McVay has had, all the six months that Jack McVay has had. Yeah. Unbelievable. Defending and playing against LeBron James a couple of nights ago, then it comes out that same day that he's signed a two-way contract with the Houston Rockets. Still not official, I don't think, but it is capped off an extra. How does everyone know about it, and it's not official? Olga broke it. Yeah. So if Olga knows it's happened, it's happened. He'd have that many contacts in the NBA. I'm not sure why it's not official yet, though. But you interview Scott yesterday, didn't you about it? A couple of days ago. Yeah. And what he said, it's not. It's still not official. It's still not official. Yeah. We'll ask him more about it this morning. Maybe there's an update on that when he joins us later on this morning, but he joins us. Unbelievable, Tim. The six months that he's had, you know, championship, finals MVP, club MVP, boomers selection. He got married. He's now got an NBA contract. Tell me about a six months in professional sport and that. It's hard to rival. I've just been trying to think who has literally ticked off all their dreams as a kid in a shorter. I mean, in a shorter timeframe in terms of how quickly it's all happened, but you look back at his story and his career and his social media stuff. It is a terrific story and it's such a long and hard journey. I think he's 28 years of age now, which is a bit older, I would imagine to be reaching the pinnacle of your sport, both as an Olympian and as potentially an NBA player, but it just goes to show doesn't it? If you are willing to put in the work, you believe in yourself that anything actually nearly is possible. I mean, I know it's a token thing that a lot of great sportsmen say, but Jack McVay has been someone who's grafted and grinded and done everything right for, you know, since he was a kid and he's never given up hope and I just think it's a great example for any young Tasmanian or any young sportsmen around the world to never give up on your dreams. And if you think you're good enough and you're willing to put in the work, then things can happen for you. Nice link to the Rockets. His boomers teammate, Jack Landau, is also on the roster and Garrett Jackson, who played for the Northwest Thunder, is also an assistant coach with the team. So a lot to lock about that. What about Mags too? He's team. The Rockets. Maybe. Could Will Magne end up with the NBA as well? He was the one we expected to go. He's been working out with a few clubs over there. Here's what NBA Almighty has Pete Hawley had to say about it during the week. As reported, Jack McVay to the Houston Rockets. Really exciting for Jack McVay. It's going to be interesting to see what Tasmania do now because he may not be the only one who departs from the championship winning Jack Jumpers. There is a lot of strong talk about Will Magne and those positive talks continue to increase with him earning an NBA deal? There you go. So it leaves a couple of giant holes, doesn't it? I look forward to talking to coach about it again a little later, but you know, you just got to be happy for these guys. They're living out their dreams. If they do get people, Will get picked up as well and an amazing tick for the organization as well. Yeah. The tick for the organization, I'm sure the organization is thrilled but upset at the same time. It's a really tough situation but I mean there's so many positives to it as well. If you're trying to now recruit players, let's have a high performance centre for one that you can come and show them. But two, you've now got proof of the fact that this team and this organization knows how to win as a team and culturally and then secondly now it shows that the program and the staff that you would come down and work under as a coach will improve you as a player and potentially get you to the next level which for these guys is either playing for the boomers or the NBA to have two examples inside three years is a huge tick for the Tassie jack jumpers. Definitely. Lot to ask Scott Roth about later in the show and he joins us after eight o'clock. Have you got a text for the jack jumpers head coach send us a text on 0 4 3 7 double 5 2 5 3 5 which of course is the hard courts open line, hard courts results for you. You can even give us a call 1342 1533 and our contributor of the day team of course wins a hundred dollars to spend at KFC so what an incentive there. The man who's just gone back to back texts would love a KFC voucher for a hundred dollars and that's David. He's the first one to have the day he's state game this weekend. I'm guessing this means plenty of cashos for Brento obviously we all know that. Cashos. Second one is Larry is happy to demand he's happy to demand things from our government where is his Wilkinson Point development. This is not good enough. David on the KFC voucher early doors not happy with Larry and probably spot on the money with his first ones with the Brento filling his pockets this weekend. I'll be there Jim. I can't wait to see the Tazzy side up against Sydney Cameron. Singing the answer. No, don't think I might do the answer. I mean if if required on stamb off the answer, would that be something? No, not a president's lunch just doing the on ground on ground stuff. Speaking of presidents lunches so when I was driving towards it's place to get me. My e-bike yesterday I drove past the noosa footy club. Right. Big sign on the front. Noosa Tigers versus morning sign this weekend. Presidents lunch guest. Why? Carrie. The duck. The duck. The king is a town. Oh jeez. The face is going to start I thought he'd stop watching footy but he must have gone back a level. So he's going to watch me feel. Imagine you feel. You too.
