Great to have you camping here on SCN. Tazzy Brechtvis. Texts in here on the Harcourt's open line. Harcourt's results for you and it says first, second, third place medals are okay in international tournaments and club knock out cup competitions but probably not in a grand finale. That's probably fair enough too. One man that has won a lot of second place medals in his time is from Taz Racing. Racing is a way of life. Visit it's while we race.com.au. Maddy Reed, how are you mate? I don't mind that introduction from you Brent. I've had work. That one works well. What are your thoughts on that? We've just seen England receive a medal for coming second in the Euros. Are you a fan of that or no thanks? I think as a player you wouldn't really be holding on to that but it does make sense. I mean it's a big tournament. The Euros it's not just a one-off fix this. I think you've got to acknowledge the second place but I don't think the players would be super dangerous there. Let's get stuck into it because a big weekend for Tazzy Gallops in the state. Height won the Rockhampton Cup and you tip that on Friday at $15. You've finally come through for us. We've smashed the curse, Prenna. We got both of them with height winning the Rockhampton Cup and we had about $3.50 when at Denport yesterday but they're really well placed by Trenna, Aidan, the Rockhampton Cup. He's horses bob up here and everywhere so Aidan is a polo player that travels the country and trains a couple of horses with him along the way. Hipes a really good gala but we saw him last. I can't remember. I think I mentioned on Friday he won the Sheffield Cup. He was second in the Denport Cup and Tazzy connection with that horse. The Jockey Teagan wore him to Tazzy Gall as well and none of course trains out of Longford when he is based in Tazzy. I'll need to touch base with him to see if we see height back down here during the Tazzy summer. Hopefully we will and then of course the little champ, the inevitable. He did what he does yesterday, ran another super race and fortunately just too far back in a race where the favourite and leader was far too good but he rattled home and finished forth as well. I suspect we'll see both of those horses down here during the Tazzy summer and I certainly hope so. Absolutely. The glass house yesterday for the inevitable and great work there from you tipping that high post. It was a very nice collect for our listeners if you managed to get on board. What about yesterday at the Devonport Gallops? A double for Johnny Blacka means he's got one hand on the premiership doesn't it? Yeah he's five clear now Johnny Blacka with two meetings remaining both in Hobart so double for him. The one winner for Graham Stevenson yesterday, he trained the first winner of the program so it was his connections that got to experience the new owners and trainers bar there in the new building at Devonport and I want to make an important job with that up there. It looks outstanding I spoke to jockeys and owners and trainers and a lot of different people on track yesterday and they were all very happy with what's been produced there in Devonport so it's something to keep an eye on if you're heading to the races up there. But yeah double for John Blacka two winners as well for Adam Trinder and that concludes the end of the Devonport stretch of the season. Probably both premiership's done now with John Blacka the trainer and Anthony Damann and the jockey but it's good to have a race that comes down to the wire and two new premiers potentially decided there. Yeah tell me about the new facilities up there so what is it exactly and where about is it because I haven't actually done it much about this so run me through it. So it's a new amenities building at Devonport Brenna basically houses all the club facilities so that Devonport racing club will be based in there so they're committee where they have winning owners and things like that after the races the jockeys rooms are in there there's a nice new media spot at the end of the building there as well essentially replaced what was a pretty tied and an old facility there in Devonport and got a new campaign and everything out the back as well so it's been a massive, massive project but well over 12 months in the making and everyone's concerned with Devonport I think they're ecstatic. The official opening I believe Brenna is in like September so I don't want it to be one that either you can head along or get some of the team to come along and give it to me in time because it's done a great job up there. Very good you know let's look at Hobart harness that Jacob Duggan trained his first winner early in the program. Tell me a bit about Jacob. Yeah we spoke about him a couple of weeks ago so he's only 18 Jacob he brought track work to see a car in the gallop so he drives predominantly for his father Adrian in the harness and now he's taken out his trainers license and landed a blow last night with rock the tableau he's a really really good young lad he's Jacob got a good head on his shoulders and who knows he could be anything in the industry down here with the skills that he's got across multiple codes but for someone like him to be investing so heavily in the game's great and to get some rewards with rock and tableau was awesome on sort of social media's light up everyone was ecstatic for Jacob and someone that's grown up in the game and has mentioned he's dad's Adrian he's done called Ricky Duggan who's got more harness wins than any other driver in the history it says he races so he's got big footsteps to follow but he's doing a pretty good job and tonight Raiders guide looks to keep his dominant run in the state alive doesn't he with the the 600 meter race in the money coming up yeah he's just a bit better than them down here over that distance Raiders guide anything sort of 600 in the middle distance and even up to 700 and that's probably where he's heading right aside we've got our state championships in a couple of weeks time where Raiders guide I think will be all over the the distance final and then probably handle head to the Nationals but a really good initiative tonight for the Lonnie Greyhound racing club Brenner race two on the program is a young handler's race so every dog in that race will be boxed by a young licensed participant under the age of 25 so we've got anguest Clark Loughlin Martin loop here Olivia Hilly Hannah Pierce Kira Franks isabella Martin and Jordan Croft all involved in Greyhound racing and all getting a bit of time in the spotlight last tonight in Lonceso good to hear now you traveled up the highway to watch your Hawker we still up in Lonceso and I'll believe after watching the Hawks on the weekend you must have been a very very happy boy Saturday afternoon there was an outstanding game wasn't it Brenner I mean there was been lucky calling all three games and have all been really good I was impressed by three I thought we were in a bit of trouble at three-quarter time but yeah we responded and just a massive fortress for a sponsor then you can't deny it it's record speaks for itself over a span that kind of obviously takes in the period when we're absolutely juggernaut but either side of that we weren't the side that we were during our premiership time we're still knocking up winning games for fun there so it was awesome on Saturday the weather turned it on again for the third time and there's many times when I'm testing this season you sort of get a nice calm day sun's out so yeah it was outstanding and we've got nice Melbourne to come late in the season what probably going to be a dead rubber I guess but a good opportunity to notch up another wind down here absolutely yeah you're right about the weather up there we said the same thing on the broadcast it's always a nice day isn't it might be a bit fresh but always the sun out not a cloud in the sky typically and um perfect conditions of course it has the surface there obviously world right now it's outstanding and now what about this weekend I think you've got the pies haven't you at the MCG so that's an absolute belt out coming out this weekend yeah absolutely it's uh it's gonna be another little mini knockout final for the walks we keep winning but the teams above us that we don't want to win keep winning too so I don't think we'll make the finals but hawks calling would I'd imagine we'll probably get 80,000 there and it'll be another good opportunity for our young blokes to experience something like that and I think we've got to go to Adelaide and then Canberra and then two weeks following that so we've had a pretty brutal travel schedule of hawks so um when the losses do start coming we'll use that as an excuse brother just an early precursor that'll be happening yeah okay um we must be wrapped though with how they've gone this season exceeded all expectations haven't they well you start over five and then there's all this talk that's what's happened that you've got to blow up the list it's not working and we've come from there we've been one of the four signs in the competition through sort of a dozen weeks now so um we've got good young Karen everywhere we've got Will McCabe to still come back by box here and he's showing good signs in what he's displayed it as well I think um in will day he's been out and out star who knows what the wizard will give us say yeah it's exciting times for Hawthorne and would Tazzy coming into the comp in a few years as we know you kind of don't want to be starting from the absolute bottom so I think we'll be in a good place when Tazzy come in and start compromising draft and things like that so uh yeah it's sort of I think the agent charge has done a really good job turning the hawks around in a and a pretty good space of time and a lot of that comes from probably the blokes that we've drafted outside of our top ten picks like there's a bit of queries on on the likes of Moby Cam de and Josh Waters the weather they'll um to feel the promise yeah picks that then you look at join new kerm and all these other blokes that we've picked up like a little Lloyd Meek we get um off the scrap heap from Freya so it tends to be our draft picks at the bottom rather than the top that we've done most of our damage. 110,000 people attend Tazmonian race meetings every year racing is a way of life is at it's wibyrace.com.au you win some you'll lose more for friend confidential support visit
