Welcome to the show Paris and Agents to Buy, Sell or Rent in Tasmania. So it's Harrison Agents today, 48 Brisbane Street, Launceston. Good morning everybody. Great to have you with us here on a picture-perfect winter's day here in Hobart. Great to have your company as per usual. An enormous amount of topic in sport this week to talk about and I can't wait to do it. As per usual with Brett Jews. Good morning young man. Good morning to David. Good morning everybody. Big week as usual. It's just happening everywhere. There's trades going on in the NBA. Yeah. Josh Giddy's moved on. The Blues are coming like an absolute hurricane. Are the Blues legit? Yep. Yeah. Yep. I think I said that a couple of weeks ago. It'll never be my second save for a month. Did last nice performance just elevate them into tier B rather than C. I mean they're Sydney right. No they're definitely always been in tier B for me. Okay. To me it's been a gap but they've they elevate us. Oh there's a little bit of a gap there but do you want to know why? Why? Tom Daconing in the run is a complete revelation for them and I'm not sure you want to talk about mobile. I'm not sure Mark Pitternet gets back into that team. Unfortunately unless he's morphed to his hands into Wayne Carey's hands and can play center half forward at some point or go down back and which you can't he's not it's not agile enough but um geez he's impressive and what I liked was Jelong tried to counter him with his twin brother. Are they twins? Sorry? They are twins. They go counter him with his twin brother and it didn't work well. Yeah look there Pitna is an interesting one and look he'll get his opportunity and the thought process is always being that he provides that really good clearance work you know so when the ball up at the at the top of the square obviously the middle of the ground etc. is where Pitna is doing a big influence with those meets. It doesn't do much. No he doesn't. It kind of plugs from ruck contest to ruck contest. Victor Conning he's now elevating those areas as well and that and then he provides it completely and vastly different dynamics. Very pros and no doubt about it. Listen we're going to focus on the blues here a little bit because I think they're coming. Firstly let's have a listen to the highlights last night. Shred's the handle after Walsh defogity decrypts but his arms free back to Walsh back to Chinkota but his arms free out towards Ollie Holland's strolls in and nails it. Put it back into the mess though. Ollie Holland's tried to find a way through. Release the footy. Fogarty was fitted by Hewitt. Kicks up near full forwards. Charlie Kurno roads the pack and kicks goal number four. Two brothers play like it in recent time. Saad picked off the kick coming into the middle and he takes his time to guide the Blues to Neumann. He's going to be on a 45 degree angle on the best part of 50 from goal. McNeumann loads it up from 50. He's given it a good ride. That's there as well. Let's ask takes it out of the air. Kicks toward Cameron who gets it on the bounce. Drops it. Gets it. Gave it. Stangle outside of the boot. Heads toward the goal squared. Dempsey or a goal. Dempsey left it and Stingle gets himself a consolation prize. Tack the footy out to the winger. Liger Holland's fed it up to Crips. Super at four to the ball. Tom gives it back to Patti who works it inside. 50 to Fogarty who licks it up with Wollson. He joins the scoring spree. sends a goal square to Charlie. Can he get another? Can't get onto it. Jack Henry gets it. Gave the color jazz the missed his handboard target. Charlie's rolled another one home. Charlie has had a night to behold. He's got five. Yes, pretty boy. They make me nervous and I tell you what they do is because they have a couple absolute A pluses. Thanks for dropping that phone. Am I you? In the middle to start with Doug that in Crips and Walsh and then if you're in that service from Erukman you've got proper key forwards and a mobile one in you know that that's almost a high half forward in athleticism in Kurno and then you've got the best fall back in the competition. Jack Henry is superb. Where are the holes? Well, I think the hole is kicking ability. Correct. That's right. So, straight out of the corridor running through the 50 Mackays hitting you up on the lead. Is Walsh and Crips going to hit them regularly in September? That's exactly what the query is. And I've talked about this one. Stuart Chera. Hewitt Chera Kennedy. He's improved his game so much but that's my thing. So then I don't want to get this in response thing. I look at their meets right and I'll get back to why I think Blues is such a threat but those means in Goulden, Warner, Haney, you know, let's not let's forget the colors. They are late. They can kick in. So, is that going to be a difference but then don't forget I took my girls to the first final last year Colton won their first final in 20 years. He hits a raucous bunch. I feel where Colton may have the edge over Sydney in terms of let's let's match the two of them up. Sydney versus Colton. Physicality. Goulden's a little small. He's tough though. He's not 196. He's better at his like Crips. Sorry. Yeah, on there yep, they're tough but when the ball is to be contested and and guys have got their arms out stretched to collect it, you can only reach so far when you're 175 centimetres and it was one of the challenges with Hawthorne's midfield at different stages across the last couple of years as I've struggled which is why they've inserted Con and Nash at one night. Like it's a big body who can collect it at the highest point and I think that I think that that matters and also think like the tackling the physicality around the contest that's potentially where Colton have the edge over Sydney. Cool. Brody Grundy is the best tackling ruckman in the competition. Well, I thought we were removing the colors here. You've got to be objective. You can't argue. You can't argue against height. Okay. So in Grundy you've got the obviously the best tackling ruckman in the game by a long way probably on the all Australian team. Can't come up against Stretch Arms strong timing with the wing spanner. No one foot 11. Would you agree that they got an advantage in the ruck though? This one's at this stage. She's not after what I saw last night. So you're going to be declining as a better option in September than Grundy just on the record. I think there's a potential neutralization there. I don't think it's different. Yeah. And that's what I was. I'm just going on what I saw last night in the conning's ruck and I'm no ruck analyst but he was unbelievably impressed. That's point one. Yeah. James Ray Bottom is the best actor in the competition and then by the time you get meals who isn't out there at hard nut to add into that midfield depth. I refuse to believe toughness is why Colton are better. I refuse to believe that. Now am I concerned about Colton more than the other team? Yeah. So in because they have they get momentum. Can I just say hum and their crowd is like this energy and unfortunately I'm not one for the things that Grand Final should be moved. Every lot of people do don't they in the state? I don't because we've only got one MCG but they have an advantage of this one's MCG. There's this toughness which is mindset and from and from a Sydney perspective you can't question it absolutely and I'm with you 100% there. Heany, Gordon, Warner, they're tough. They want it. They'll put their bodies on the line. They have that mentality but then there's a physical component that your capability reaches only so far when you're a hundred and seventy-five centimeters. And seventy-nine if you're talking about Gordon. And seventy-eight kilos. Isaac Heany's mid range. One eighty eight and a half one. I didn't know. Is he that tall? Yes. Let's check it. He's six foot two. He's one eighty seven. But he's not Crips. He's not Warwick. I don't believe that. He's not Hewitt. I think Crips and Heany is an all-worldly match up in September. I just think that might just be a little bigger. But that's cool. You know and I think you know what it means David? Means you're faster. So if you get it. Yes. You're a turnover. Yeah. They're away. That's where Sydney appear to be the best at the competition. Don't forget about the comic before the club. And I think they are very much. They're not the 10 we've forgotten. And then suddenly Brisbane are there. The Giants have got Kelly back. They've got it. That's a huge game against us once a day. Also Isaac Heany's a hundred and eighty-four centimeters. That's five foot eleven. No it's not. He's six foot eleven. One eighty four mate. That's his Wikipedia. Well, I'm sure. I'll concede the fact. I thought he's always been a Genium six foot two. However Crips is a mountain of a man. And I do listen to that. It's a good conversation. George Hewitt. George's is more strong. Excellent of course. Yeah. Nick Newman's a one. Can I just think Newman gets no love? Well, he gets a little love. But he needs more love. I think Nick Newman is. He's good. He's another excellent. He's a huge reason as for Colton's transformation. He's kicking. He's turned into a into a mighty defender. Yes. Well, he's I wouldn't say the lockdown. But his improvement as a as a one-on-one defender. He's a good player. Impacts. I think he's improved his kicking a lot over the years I reckon. And I think that's why maybe he lost his spot almost at the swans. And he's he's proved to be terrific for them. So, what was it? One eighty four as well. Isaac Heaney, the official. You've obviously put a little bit of mayonnaise on it. I've got to hear now for website is one eighty five centimetres. I can only go on what's in front of me. Well, what are you getting over the over website of Wikipedia? Come on. What are you doing? I love it. And I love that potential match up. I want you to go with whichever one is going to help you. Well, he's he's a strong mead that can go forward. And look, all I hope with Isaac Heaney, he is put in the best or one of the best 14 rounds in verse 14. Just as that for a long, long, long time. So, he's a ground low winner. I think he is. But at the moment, right. He'd be five in front. Yeah, he'd have twenty four votes. And I reckon day cost have nine or twenty. He's pulled in every game about 24 votes. He's so round three. He's the three. He's the three. Let's write that down. Isaac Heaney. Yep. Twenty four votes. Twenty four votes. That's right. Put him down. At round 14. Yep. I reckon he's got six best on grounds. I reckon he's got six three voters. And I think he's got four two voters. No, no, I think he's got three two voters. No, I've got him. That's in the nine. I've got it. Put it in. We've come back to it. Absolutely. Bookmark at Ethan plays. I've got him polling in nine games. Twenty four just remember you had the Libs winning in a majority in the in the lowest recent election. Didn't quite work out that way. Long value punters. Sometimes you lose money quickly. Listen, we've got a big show. We've got some more important people to listen to and talk to the new and I coming up. Sam Siggins, what a star he is, of course, best on ground in the in the game last year against Queensland. They're playing today. The boys and the girls fabulous opportunity to wear that famous map. Again, we're going to be talking to Sam shortly. And Peter Gutwin, he want to talk about coming off the long run, the former Premier during the week talking about his absolute passion for the Scottsdale Footy Club. Well, he had a long walk as well. You've really long run. He had a long walk from burning. For me, that was the second item because I'm so passionate about the prize. What a great thing he did. He had all the political people from all the different sections of the voting world, walking with him at a time and that was great. I can't wait to talk about Peter. He's got an involvement with the Scottsdale Footy Club. We'll talk to him after nine o'clock but coming up is Sam Siggins. This is Saturday's Intazzy with David Lithgow and Brett Geeves. It's a wide open road. It's a wide open road. Great tapping with us this morning, David. Go Brett Geeves. We'll be talking all the big topics around the country and in the Apple Isle. We're heading to Queensland now where the absolute star of the game this time last year, Tasmania versus Queensland. BOG, Sam Siggins has joined us. How you going Sam? This must be fun. You've left the seven or eight degrees top down here to 22, 23. No rain life must be pretty good. Good morning boys. Yeah, no, I lost good up here. We've got T-shirt on and it's nice and warm up here and just having some breakfast and just about to get ready for the day ahead. So looking forward to it. How are you feeling about it? Sammy, it must be pretty exciting. I know how much thrilled the guys got out of the game last year and there's several of those players backing up again of course but has it got that bit of extra anticipation again for you? Yeah, it's definitely, it's an exciting time especially for Tazzy footy with the future moving forward and a potential VFL side coming in as well. There's a core group of guys here which are excited to represent Tazzy and obviously last year was a huge success for us and we've probably got half a side, half a side of fighting the game last year and then we've got a lot of younger guys in the side as well which hopefully could be a part of that VFL side moving forward as well. So yeah certainly it goes over here and it'd be nothing better than to debate Queensland two times I'm sure. Sammy the addition of Andrew Phillips into the team is obviously a big one both in height because he is a huge man and also just from a straight talent IQ perspective what's he been able to bring to training in terms of leaderships and education to some of the young players? Yeah Flippers Matthew obviously get to play with him at Lawler Law and I get to see first hand the knowledge he brings to us down there but also the state side is what I do. He's helped a lot of guys here and I think the mid some other clubs that are looking forward to hopefully arriving to some of his tap work and yeah hopefully he makes it tough for the Queensland today and we can get a win because I think that'll be a better important part of the game inside the contest Queensland's bit more of an outside style of for each day if we can get on top in the middle I certainly think you can go a long way for us to win the game. When you look at the Queensland team and you've done a bit of scouting across the last little period no doubt who's the concern who do you have to shut down? Yeah so the main one for us is there's a few obviously I've always surprised but Liam Dawson of half-back he's one that was looked at closely he sets them up off half-back and he's in the inner set player and wants to move the ball quick and he's good by good by foot so yeah we needed to make sure on top of that early and not allow him to the inner set mark because if we allow that it's going to be a tough day for us because I'll set up that offense off that so yeah hopefully we're smart the way we move the ball forward and hopefully with some quell his impact. How do you look at the team Sammy I mean there is a probably half the guys are back again I mean you've strident away from memory Kieran level at injury last year he missed he gets a chance back in the Tezi colors. Yeah Kieran obviously a class player and yeah it's massive to have him play this year I'll see he missed out it was a light out last year and yes the team becoming to the sides massive for us you know he'll start the center bounce I'm sure Kieran's got a big guy and I reckon slipper we put in a few down he tried I reckon it'd be pretty excited I reckon. Brett asked me about in terms of the team just to find little bits and pieces of the end players and there is players from outside the T yourself of course Jake Hines very familiar to everybody of course now he's out at he's out at Bridge North he's seen a bit of a snapshot and I've talked about this a couple of times with you about you know this VFL team in maybe maybe it's still two years away who knows is it 2026 but can you start to get a sense of how it'll look in time and then start to have this team that plays every week. Yeah I definitely can I can I can see this is a great opportunity and a springboard into that VFL program for sure I think we're spoken about it in-house and obviously we all don't really know about the future holds with it all but yeah hopefully we can get a VFL site in the next two years and I guess this is the foundation of that it can build a bit of a culture and if you can get some core group of guys in an environment like this where they can become better footballers and I think it's going to hold me good stead to hopefully play VFL for their state when that comes in and be a part of that I guess foundation that the 30-40 club so yeah I definitely think this is this massive and this is all all a part of it and yeah the guys are certainly enjoying it that's for sure. Sammy when you when you think about state of origin you know Victoria South Australia the great games of years passed that that concept got shut down during the middle of seasons through risk of injury and obviously you know the way professional football evolved when you when you when you scale that back into the situation you're in at the moment how supportive are the clubs of this concept you know it's mid-season their best players heading off to play in a game that you know it's impossible for you to look at this game and go hey you know what I'm going to run out at 70% here absolutely no you're representing the map it's a huge game so you're going full tilt are the clubs concerned at all about this do you think or are they fully supportive and that you know it has made in representation is is the key to all this. Yeah I can't speak too much for the other clubs I know from from my club point of view they're fully supportive of this program and obviously we've got a lot of our system coaches today our coaches out of the TSL part that are there fully supportive of this and I know how much it means to us players and obviously for them the coaches as well they made a lot to them to be able to help to coach coach minor and I think at the end of the day that's only a positive for their players because we get better even if even if the guys are in the squad that don't play today they're still going to get better as footballs because they're training in a professional environment it's obviously a lot higher intensity when they're surrounded by quality players so I think it can only benefit the players and obviously the clubs as well when they go back to their clubs I felt like last year at show when we try to the high intensity we went back to a pretty close you you performed at a better level because you were trying at a higher level so I think the clubs are definitely supportive of it and yeah. Well Brett what do you think in terms of Sam he's 30 in March so two years time give me a percentage out of a hundred what chance do you think that 32 year old Sam Sigens will we want to be playing this for you put me on the put me on the spot here well I'm going on 1000% out of 100 I'm going with 1000 I would say 100% and probably because you need and we've spoken to Sam about this before you need Sam's leadership leadership comes in many forms and I think for Sam the way in which he's been able to regroup you know from the AFL experience and come back and be a mature leader you know quite often we think about sports leaders as the absolute pinnacle those that you Chris Judd's and Gary Abbott juniors and seniors are the only people that can provide leadership because they're the best Sam's been able to to go the other way and sort of work on his experience and filter that down the line to his young players so I think you need Sam Sigens as part of that team so I'm running with 100% I went with a thousand have we missed out that if we go on the wrong here is there semi now I have to wait until you'll still get a little getting older 30 now but yeah certainly something I'd be definitely open to do if it is say two years time I don't know how the body be tracking into time but yeah I'd certainly jump for the opportunity that did do to rise and yeah well there's an important role they say I'm isn't there in terms of you know like even Brad Cox good years can be a yard and a half sloth in his best and he would admit that to you in two years time but you still need these leadership dudes if you like to actually help set this new club up and I think that's sort of part of this whole journey I think that's where someone like yourself will be invaluable well Sam can you can you do me a favor when people ask you this question moving forward the answer is yes let's straight up because because I think importantly like David said there are going to be some really cool jobs opening up in this devil's program and the managers had on now no look I just think importantly you know Sam your skill set and your experiences and your ability to connect to young people is the type of person that that club needs to help set the foundation so from now I'm moving forward it's a yes and I'm super excited I love Tasmania and I can't wait to be a part of it forever hey listen let's focus on today for 30 seconds you're coming home with a victory yeah I certainly feel like if we can play the footy way well applied yet we can come away with a win I think yes two different comparisons in terms of why 40's played from Queen's over 30 footy and I think we can be tough around the contest I think we can get the job done for sure and give us just one name and maybe it's not even quite the familiar name of local footy today that you're expecting just in a couple of weeks of training who might really step up at the next level yeah there's a young guy from North Frances and Harvey Griffiths he's leading the Hudson Hudson Metalies yeah so the boys is all cosmic name the rock star or even the wizard he's got a lot of tricks good lot tricks and he's bad and he can kick goals and special goals and take the hang of so he's someone to watch today for sure Sammy all the best for though mate thanks for coming on especially as your eggs got cold in the time that we've spoken and all the best in go and get them up the map no ice boys take Sammy on let's go to the news and we'll come back shortly right tap you with us here on a Saturday morning from Harrison agents we are Tasmanian David Lithgow Brett Jeeves with you this fine morning it was Sam Siggins just before the news fine young man it actually leads to a board of discussion Brett with you know this VFL team start in 2026 I'm assuming I don't really know I mean there was talk obviously was in 2025 maybe that's gonna come around too soon but there's some huge roles there isn't there in really setting the foundation the joy the prosperity the future conversations and it all starts with them yeah and that's what you need people like like Sam Siggins Andrew Phillips yeah these types of guys who have had the work their towers off to be able to make a work and we've spoken to Sam directly about his experience in the NFL and you know he's openly spoken about the difficulty of it and and you know he'd like to you know perhaps go back and have a you know do things a little differently and yes and we're all the same I think any professional athlete looks at their crack from 18 to 22 kind of goes teaser some things I could do differently there but that that that that experience for Sam is it's integral in being able to share that and and help that that crop of 18 to 22 year olds coming through through that really difficult stage you know they've moved away from home they're living in a new state making new friends new connections all while trying to be an awful footballer it's a difficult time so you know people like Sam and Andrew and you're a lovely stop that old that's right yeah they are good play they are very important to to the success of the program so yeah look hopefully hopefully it happens look at me you know Sam's background he's worked across some different not for profits with youth and said some you know some some different roles along the way almost custom made for it for for a role like that I'm fascinated and and I'm not his manager and I'm not looking to collect 15% revenue of whatever he's been 20 I'm never going to business I think 20 now I don't maybe I am a manager would have been a fun job no horrible job baby no dealing with pretentious athletes I'm really interested young that in the you know we've all been talking about the Sadie coach for the tazzy team and then Kenny Hinkley's name just got thrown into the fire look I would imagine my understanding is Kenny he's a great human great fella great football person all those things but yeah really annoying when we just listen to the Melbourne radius someone starts and don't listen no no turn it off no no but you hear it and you just you know you say it's and you read it of course but look what would you think Kenny Hinkley there's a would you bring Ken down from the interview maybe he's maybe he's at least done enough to get an interview I think you would interview Ken yeah and then you'd sign Brendan Bolton sorry Ken well thanks for coming down that yeah look yeah I think we're might be the minority there but yeah I love the conversation about Brendan Bolton but it's giving me he won't be the very feel cut you wouldn't think that might be a jade roll jade Rawlings already say would you not want us to would you not want you know if if if you've got an appointment and Brendan Bolton is going to be your Nathan Buckley or Ken Hinkley you're playing enough as a very feel coach I guess they could if they just started off of course you can throw a bit absolutely if they your foundation because he's got a good job of calling but I don't he'd be on turn it was turn it something to be good job who knows but it shouldn't matter like if you if you want to set the foundation because I would imagine that that there fell team there's going to be a host of 17 to 80 you know pre-selected 17 to 18 year olds because that's what happened with GWS is what happened with the Gold Coast that was a pool of five or six kids and I was telling it so you you want to ensure that their experience and their learnings are what they're going to step into from an AFL standpoint so it makes complete sense for the foundation coach yes to be the VFL coach have have that stuff in place I mean to me it makes sense financially but it's a good I know I just don't know whether that'll be the way they gave it again I have heard the Rawlings don't mention why it would be outstanding absolutely brilliant absolutely little job would be brilliant there is there is a couple there that appear good option what's the negative coach going down that path having Nathan Buckley if he's going to be a foundation coach here a year early would not exactly wouldn't take the job but coach of AFL first I refuse is too good for that too I think that's what he would well I'm not thinking he would think he's too good for that if you don't think you if you're the foundation coach you're here a year early to take the job to set the scene or that's either job I mean I think that that to me would would be a bit of a prerequisite then the Gold Coast coach guy what was the inaugural gold guy Mike and a guy McKenna he coached the VFL team yep who's the inaugural GTU s well he had a group of 17 year olds that but they coughed up a hundred points in a half to Colton did they have a team really the brain low they started hot the first eight games it's gonna take time I think the Tazzy scenario will be a little bit different but totally if you want to set the scene with your foundation coach they are here and passionate and ready to lead a year early I don't think there's a real comparison that with that part with the with the Gold Coast and with GWS with Tazzy because we're not we're not starting you know it's some new food stalls out now in Santa before we we've already had the food stalls out for years everybody is involved sorry can you can you further break down the food store analogy for well it's regular one knows it we've been here for years we just haven't been playing at the top level we just haven't had our shops in the big cities in Melbourne but everyone knows them down here you don't have to convince them twice it's a we are sold football people sold Tasmanians you know we love that brat worse yes I did have another one this morning Brad smell getting your breath it's yeah it's it's terrific and I just I think it's an underrated conversation about this V field coach who's gonna be because it is again that leadership from those guys which are talking about curing level Sam Siggins Brad Cox good year these guys that team they've got a huge right of plane I'm looking forward to it happening go the map today that's what we want to say go and whack the Queenslanders again I'll catch you better I think it's been it's been broadcast who's calling it it's I'm calling calling it yes he's going up there to call the game so that's good we'll have a listen Tazzy versus coins in this afternoon the girls are playing first look forward to seeing the map get a couple of big choices I'll say really quickly because we're gonna get to a break the challenge for Tazzy is going to be the dimensions of the ground North high but I've suited them perfectly yes the physical that big they locked it down they like contested playing Sam said himself Queensland want to run yes outside players so you know they're gonna thrive on any ground that's not north but oh yes on a wet yucky Hobart day as it was last year so that that will be the challenge for Tazzy today great to have your company will come back after the break you with Flushing Jeevesy this is Saturday's in Tazzy with David Lithgow and Brett Jeeves one year ago down at the lonely hotel now that is one of the earliest songs I remember as a kid it's about a nine ten year old or eleven year old maybe just that mid to late eighties late eighties they I remember the song was at a discount went to a lovely ever since he he was a rock star and still is it is like 50s we I found out that Alex Lloyd played at the what's the pub down at some down pass are all their luishum the luishum talent Alex Lloyd and I found that in the afternoon he's 20 18 years ago people would have paid a million dollars to it I if I'd known that was on I would have paid a million dollars to be there Alex Lloyd live his voice is incredible we had a great run where do they go what what happened to the one hottest one hundred he's not many people get to do that yeah huge and then quite have disappeared music's hard obviously I tell you what he's hard and that's been the life of Josh Giddy the last us yes he is he's had a lot on his plate but that was the first that was a monster tried first up by the way because it was such interesting it was two huge things that came and now it's just obviously the Lakers coach it's always a circus rightly or wrongly yeah and so it obviously gets enormous amount of media it's the Los Angeles Lakers let me ask you do you know do you like JJ ready cuz I love it there's a sign yes I do because I like I've always I love him but can you catch him it now he's smart he's smart yeah but can he catch I don't know no one knows cuz he's never coached it's gonna be the challenge isn't it the people managed but he's well is it though cuz he does a prompt podcast with the greatest play or second grads play yeah but sometimes sometimes if you go starting point and play a management you know it's more about the relationships with the bottom tier guys how can you elevate them and their performance through your relationship LeBron's a LeBron yes and sometimes having the superstar in your pocket as a coach can be problematic because you then have no ownership over him he's you know ultimately LeBron owns JJ you know JJ isn't isn't the leader in that conversation I've listened to a lot of podcasts last 24 hours it does seem to me in this case yes LeBron done the podcast and then of course he's ticked off and we get that but this has been an arm's length situation and the Lakers have sounds like they've changed so why be well yeah but the good reporters who'd normally be the first to whack et cetera they've sort of gone the other way because it's is 40 soon it's anti-dives is 30 it's his team has to be you know he's under contract for three more years LeBron will be a like her but so anyway that was an interesting one yes what my point was that the giddy Alex Caruso tried had more social media presence there was more hits on bleacher report when the just initial report the judge I read it from words and then the one of giddy was 20 million people and there was 17 you know views 70 million views on just that one toy what an extraordinary trade and I think it is absolutely magnificent for Josh Gideon I will not hear anyone and there's a lot of people saying it's not and it's a bust there's heaps of them I agree I agree with David we're on the same page it is awesome oh what I was going to say before I a solid fly is that Josh Giddy is Nick Newman in that he's so grossly underrated in the eyes of Americans of course Americans don't hundred percent you know the comparison I'm making there yeah not quite as bad as your food stall analogy but you know let's move forward Josh Giddy you know so the feedback is the balls the balls didn't get any draft picks back Caruso for giddy what are you serious like Caruso is unbelievable is a perfect fit pole I broke I say perfect he is the best perimeter defender in the competition shot the ball at 40 percent from three last year he is a huge addition for understanding or that you know couldn't start giddy just through his you know shooting shooting struggles certain line yeah yeah yeah and Giddy needs a ball in his hands so in terms of the one-for-one swap it's it's a great trade Caruso will be a great fit for OKC Giddy will be the starting ball handler for Chicago who have been without Lonzo ball for a couple of years who is unlikely to play again from more reports he's back walking and running and is a chance but Chicago I think are in the in the midst of establishing their team around Giddy Kobe White Patrick Williams yeah I reckon what we'll see next is Dema D'Rosen will be traded isn't he so is it nice isn't he no I don't think so Levine's got oh no no he's not yes he's had a contract Levene's got three yeah he's on a huge deal he's the harder one to deal but he's a restricted for Agine I think any derives and so you're right where you going forget the semantics yeah yeah yeah you were right I think should I keep one of them do they say I'm not getting enough for it can you the problem is you're lacking a bit of defensive if you've got white who's a solid defender well he's small white unfortunately that's right Giddy and then Salavine who's he no you blowby look I mean I think one of the challenges is that they won't find a trade partner for Zuck Levine they've been offering him for 12 months constantly injuries enormous contracts they'd have to give up a couple of first-round picks to be able to get off that deal I think to be fair that they they might be best to do that who knows but what if they got so Chicago look like they're tanking I think they'd be fair to say could you pivot here a little bit and say right we think white and Giddy's an awesome back court and they're just scared I don't for what it's worth but you don't think it's a good fact no I see you don't like the Giddy try no no I like the Giddy trades because I think he's a pivotal point yes but they'll need to pivot themselves and put some defenders around him Kobe why it's not a defender that's right that's right so in terms of that court combo they're a the report so they're no but there's you two but then can you get for Agine and Anobi is your third right so then you've got those two I've just thought of this by the way those two ball dominant guards and then Anobi's your third you've got most of it's still under contract can you I don't know is it Chicago Chicago never bottom out they just they haven't ever well I never got it right by the way because they haven't bottomed out I think they need to maybe yeah yeah I'll say I'm a different you I like white and Giddy a lot that they got to cough up a lot of points effectively if you if you're having those two in your back court you're playing seven seconds because you you will have to score a hundred and thirty five points a game to to win it and particularly with nickel vousa bitches you're as you read I think they move him yeah I think but they need big the balls they don't have anything tall at all but now I love to try and forget he's gonna have the ball in his hands we will know within three years about how good what is his ceiling because we're gonna say it is 21 he's 21 he's my people is so deluded Americans this is what it is he's an Australian white boy with curly hair and he obviously had a this issue has marred his whole year and I don't care what anyone when we won't need to talk about what happened but that is stuffed his year rightly wrongly sure he's had you know he's had over a billion people on social media commentated in the last six months that ruined things he's 21 right he's effectively he's effectively going to his fourth year in college in the old days as a senior in college yeah yeah he's got he's got a huge upside I think yeah it's the focus yeah I was gonna say I think excitingly for him that's that's what he will have an opportunity to play some people some lead ball for the boomers and you know that that sets up well for him you know he's spoken about how much he enjoys representing Australia he's gonna have the ball in his hand and I think in a recent interview he's like you know he made mention that's the player I am he's the he's the ball handler he's he sets the pace sets up his sets up his play as well and and he's a he's a very good basketball so to me a bit of a win-win trade there and any if anything I kind of favor and maybe it's some Australian bias I favor the the balls in that trade because they get a long term point guard prospect to build around that's right ball in hand that was for choices for in Hobart residential commercial interior design experts will come back after the break coming up Peter Gutt one after nine Harrison agents to buy sell or rent in Tasmania search Harrison agents today this is Saturday's in Tassie with David Lithgow and Brett James happy with us with second hour here on a Saturday morning all thanks to Harrison agents to buy sell or rent in Tasmania Texan 10437 55535 got one here from Matthew McGee in Launceston the mighty St. Patrick's up against Guilford young today and the boys final and in the girls I'm just who are the girls playing I'm just don't have that I think I think there's a bit of representation from the St. Pat's there as well they're going for three in a row St. Pat's of course James Leake who got drafted GWS took that huge mark send it into overtime last year and they won St. Pat's going for three great to see that's not for you private school footy of course because you're very much a high school boy from heart from the Claremont speaker of fellas that are from the back blocks in the North East Peter Gutt one has joined us this morning the former Premier Pete great to have you with us this morning good morning to you flash good morning do you see how I good morning Peter hey as a as a back blocks marker from from Scott star let me ask you about what it's like to represent headlines like this from Pulse Tasmania best shape of my life former Premier Peter Gutt one unveils ripped physique with a photo of you on the beach just flaunting a towel and six packs and a six pack does that is that something that excites you sounds like it excites you GG just got the better of me I'm a bit flustered yeah now look that's all right mate I can have that effect on people look I put a lot of work you know for a period of time I thought time to get into the best shape in my life on two thirds and way through my life I want to last third to be the best third so I built a foundation and got myself as fit as I've ever been I and on the on the back of that how are you after the the walk grueling Bernie to to Glen orkey how's the body feeling look I'd say I'm about a 98 to split 98 percent good and then 2% which have been a feat I saw a little problematic but but coming good said the gym this morning early and and feeling yeah pretty good but I must say look to all the people that supported me on the walk but it more importantly those migrants and refugees that shared their stories about the contribution that they're making the Tasmania and have a building their lives here and at the same time building Tasmania thank you very much it was you know great to hear those stories and fantastic have all the support along the way and to raise some money as well something that you put up all admired by you and I don't get too politically but we've had political government in liberal party for over a decade here but I've always thought they've been a pretty moderate in terms of your political thought process which has been a good thing for Tasmanian I remember your first day in office or second day I remember singing down to Salamanca with an Aboriginal community they had an event I can't recall and you're absolutely in the mix of it and it is I know something that's been really important to you all your life look when you when you come through at the end regardless of color regardless of race regardless of circumstance or background we just people and people just want to have and be able to live the best life that they possibly can and now as as premier you know I never forgot where I came from and that was from a very modest upbringing and I was a migrant as well and we came to you when I was a young lad yeah I've never forgotten my background and you know I hope along the way that I've been able to to govern from the middle to help as many people as I possibly could you know at the end of the day politics always comes into it you walk down the street and you know 40 percent of people like you 40 percent now the 20 percent you know would set you on fire but I tried to always be be balanced but more importantly I'm never to never forget where I came from and that I think that's important for all of us and certainly what that's why we've got you on and you know the story Pete but Brett of course or the first time it Pete was about 25 years ago as a young person at Scottsdale with a new job selling carpet he was good enough to buy as a lot of carpet for the for the top part of the breadboard of course that's where you were at the time and and that's obviously a big part of your life you've lived in the North East for so long and this passionate employee and you've gone into about totally for the Scottsdale footy club I've got to say as a Scottsdale person I thought it was absolutely outstanding desperately needed as well but something you're really passionate about well but one thing that I know is that when the Scottsdale foot or club does well it lifts the spirits of the entire district and you know Scottsdale hasn't been as successful as it as it could have been over the last decade there's no two ways about that two decades number well two decades yet now if we are we call it as it is that's right but they've now been given the opportunity to step up into the NCFA Premier League and I'm the patron of the club have been now for a handful of years and have supported them for a lot longer than that they've asked me to work with them until it's just where I can and so with the board and the current Scottsdale we've we've sat down and we've worked out a plan and that plan is to ensure that the club can be competitive in the next three years playing finals within the next three but then importantly focused on winning a flag in the next five and what's important for the club is to ensure that people understand that you know we are out there in the market right now we need to find a coach that can take that help us take that step up importantly attract players back that have left in recent years and build a base that can be successful yeah football is all about aspiration you know as a player you know boys and girls they aspire to be you know the best players that they can and in doing that they aspire to win games and then they aspire to win premiership and importantly clubs aspire to ensure that the boys and girls and young men and women that come true become a bit of people as a result of being those clubs so you know Scottsdale's always been an aspirational club nothing's changed there and all I'm trying to do and help them with is to ensure that we put a plan in place that would set some clear goals but importantly that we execute that plan and we move forward and I've never been more certain in my life but the goals that the cover set to be competitive and be playing finals within three and then win a flag within five I've never been more certain for that's achievable I believe it absolutely is Pete when you when you look at the model for that competition obviously North Launceston or Launceston will will filter back through how do you see that impacting the the competition and also the potential to have some of their players that I think during the interview during the week you referenced North Launceston had six players through the junior program and obviously a whole host of others you know kind of from external did you see those players filtering back to their original clubs or will they stay with North Lonnie how do you see all of that playing out well since we launched on Tuesday and we announced what our plan is and what we're doing I've been very pleasantly surprised with the interest that's been shown yeah I've been approached this week by my players I've had parents of players that playing at other clubs that have been in touch wanting to know what the plan is yeah importantly how we're going to deal with having a Launceston training base as well as training at it's got style this thing getting it an understanding of what this club with a great history a proud history is is now doing because I think there's a lot of people in Nordens has mainly got a soft spot for Scottsdale and they'd like to see it do well and importantly we've sent the signal that we are going to do well and if you want to get on board get on board now well you've been out of politics for a while and as you mentioned got yourself back in the best shape of your life and the Scottsdale thing but I heard a bit of the old Peter Gutt one got a bit of audio from the other day let's have a little bit of a listen well can I just say and it's interesting I know you from the examiner I read that disgraceful article this morning and I'll call it that you know one of the things that I think we've got to understand and it wasn't your article I understand that but one of the things that we have now is an opportunity for this club to take a step up to ensure that it is competitive and what we're going to do as I said earlier we've set a goal we've laid out a plan and now what we're going to do is execute that plan and importantly we're going to determine that we won't fail now Pete now this is this is this is this is what I was I told I'd text read immediately and I'm a Scottsdale person everybody to know and I've also been really annoyed at some of the noise up in Launceston I'm clearly you have as well I'm a Northeastern Tasmanian person you know as well and I can't wait for your part to get this brilliant upgrade that the fabulous ground needs and footy do you play it up there but this continued angle from some herbal to try and get the term you based in Launceston then it filters out into the North Launceston comfort conversation to to grow in some more legs etc it has been infuriating for me because we're supposed to be all working together I take it that's what you feel like as well absolutely flash look when I was premier one of the key things that was important in focusing on getting the AFL team here was to ensure that we had a very strong regional competition right across the three regions and there was there's never been any intention or any discussion about weakening Northern Tasmanian football it's always been about strengthening Tasmanian football and some of the commentary that I've seen from the examiner in recent times has just been appalling absolutely appalling in fact you know they have one journalist there that has done his best to up in both the AFL team and there's no doubt at all about that and I think it's been disgraceful you know for a paper that represents Northern Tasmania they should be trying to build Northern Tasmania not tear something down and so it has really disappointed me especially the way that they favored North Launceston and some of the commentary that has come in recent times you know North's stunt the last weekend to to have a vote as to whether or not they would go into recess in fact what that's done is that that's ignited concerns amongst the players and parents you know some of the conversations that I've had this week have been directly as a result of that stunt by the president of North Launceston and to be frank how arrogant it is to say the competition we don't like we don't think it'll be in our club's best interest so we'd just go to go the recess I was just staggered absolutely snagged it's disrespectful to everybody involved in football in Northern Tasmania and that club should have a good look at itself and as I said on them on Tuesday and I'll say it again don't worry North Launceston we are coming for you Scottsdale is coming for you you cannot behave that way and expect to get off Scott through it was just outrageous but I make this point yeah I'm a glass half full person not a glass half empty I mean it certainly seems that there are any within North Launceston that are glass empty as a glass half full person yeah the aim has to be to ensure that we can build the best competition that we can that we can take a step up not a step back and that we can provide the best opportunity for young boys and girls young men and women to play football and importantly with an AFL team with a flag now being placed firmly in the at the top of the hill that we can provide that aspirational pathway out of Northern Tasmania for those boys and girls that want to take that next step but we've got to ensure that we do everything that we can to build not tear down and that's a difference between Scottsdale and North Launceston we're builders and it looks like they want to tear them down look and that's let's not let's not underestimate that there's North Launceston have dominated Tassie footy for 15 years it's be really really clear about that and they have and they've been a fabulous club and they've been the envy of Clarence or mine Clarence might hate them here they've been super successful and done it really well however you cut it up and they've been a brilliant club and they're going to continue to be so but it it does feel like there's just a we're a bit bigger and better than everybody else and that and that's where the the frustration lines because North Launceston are a monster part of Tassie footy and we'll need to continue to be. Pete do you have sympathy for North Launceston in their current situation I mean as they have been the most dominant team in the state league across the last decade they're likely to win it again I think certainly the commentary around how they've handled things poster decision is probably been disappointing and I'm sure that their elements of that they'd like to take back but are you sympathetic to their current scenario? Not at all no I think in my view my view very clearly is that you've got to aspire to do better and at the moment that's what Scottsdale's doing it certainly doesn't appear that that's what North Launceston is doing you know the cards have been dealt you know they are on the table you know we've got to play with what's in front of us and importantly what we should be doing is working to get the best possible result that we can out of what we've been dealt North as a club are demonstrating the absolute opposite to that and you know that's a matter for them they have been a very successful club and I hope that they over time remain successful all they don't you're Scottsdale we don't all be it we're gonna get them we're gonna catch them we're gonna demonstrate that when you are prepared to set a goal to lay out a plan and execute that plan that you can be successful and Scottsdale with the rich history that it's got with the depth of feeling that there is across the Northeast I am certain that we are going to provide an opportunity for many young men and women boys and girls to play football at the highest level in northern Tasmania and at the same time provide them with a pathway if they want to go on to time the state's AFL team that's our plan we're aspirational at the moment North Launceston's nothing other than just disappointing just to put it in perspective too for people especially in the south the state unaware in the 70s and early part of the 80s arguably Scottsdale North Launceston were the biggest rivals in Tasmanian football probably the two best teams for a considerable part of that in Tasmanian football and that's the beauty of it in the fact that in five six years time we can wander down to the Scottsdale footy club and see Scottsdale playing North like it certainly used to be let let's put a bow on the Scottsdale thing paid it's a huge job let's not run away from the fact that it has been a tough couple of decades and things have got to act really quite quickly you're absolutely right we need to take steps and that's exactly what we're doing yeah on Tuesday we're the first club in the state to be out there saying that we're now recruiting for next year we're now building we're looking for a coach I said to them over the last couple of months you know it's important that we are out there and that we signal that we are determined not to fail that we want to take the steps and we want to take them early there's a lot of work to be done there is no doubt at all about that but I am confident absolutely confident that as we work through the rest of the year then as we build a base as we get those players that are going to represent the club and both men's and women's football next year fitter to take that step up that we are going to be competitive next year it'll take us as I said I think three years and we'll be playing finals five years and we'll win a flag but you've got to have a goal you've got to have a plan and you've got to be prepared to execute it we can't just sit back and be arrogant and winge you can't try to take tearing things down which is unfortunately what North on system have been doing at the moment yeah the cards have been dealt let's play the game and get on with it and let's make that game as positive as we possibly can as we move forward perfect right to have you with us some great passion for an old spud dig a lot my good self and it really has the potential to to be terrific competitions around the state and the and the Tassie team is coming and it's a big thrill and just in a word Benny Garl's appointment haven't had a chance to think what was your thought on that brilliant would have been my choice I just think that to bring in a CEO that you know likewise set a bold goal for Richmond's you know over a decade ago said that they wanted a premiership with an intent they went through you know he is exactly the sort of person that we need setting up the machinery of the AFL club and I couldn't be happier as I say it would have been my choice go devil's Pete thanks for joining us this morning it's great to have you with us and great to see you've been moving well and found a really good passion the Scott style footy club flash Gigi thanks very much for having me have a great day thanks mate Peter Gutland joins us we'll go to a break come back and chat all things sport here on a Saturday morning Harrison agents to buy cell or this is Saturday's in Tassie with David Let's go and Brett Jeeves takes a picture of you're from this fan who the gut went off the long run by God no question about that Matthew McGay as well just texting me through that the Guilford young girls are going for three in a rose that's a terrific result so those state independent schools finals on today just saying to bread off air as a Scott style person which I am my whole family my grandfather everyone's been involved with the club it's been a tough 20 years really tough and the hang of my thread haven't won again this year how confident you think Scott star can turn around after that half an hour well I'll say that's Scott star football club a very fortunate to have a former Premier Peter Gutland representing them in in such a manner I mean there there has been threats from global leaders to hit the nuclear button for some time Premier Gutland just hit it and it landed on North Launceston it is such a fascinating debate because I do have sympathy for North Launceston situation but David that the sympathy was six months ago yeah you've changed it no but when when the decisions were made and it didn't go their way and the community model was engaged that they had every right to stand up and say hey we're disappointed this doesn't work look at what we've done look at what we've achieved yep here is what's likely to happen but once the AFL didn't shift or change their decision on on how state football was going to run they had to adapt and I thought former Premier Gutland's analogy around working with the cards that you dealt like that they have no choice but to play their hand and if they decide that that throwing their cards over their right shoulder and not playing anymore is the way is the best way forward for the North Launceston Football Club that would be a major blunder and and and and there is a petulant element to that and so they do deserve a bit of a whack but I'm also sympathetic to their scenario of course I wish they'd handled it a little bit differently across the last four months because I just don't think it's helping them at all let's call a sport spider-spade Rob Shaw's a very very very respected sports journalist the head there in Launceston he has been on a vendetta to have this team either get abandoned this Tasmania team and then from there though it should be played in your park and he's used the North Lonnie thing to stiffen up his argument as well that's called a spider-spade and there's been a group of people like Rob who really led this Launceston thing and we don't need to start him etc I'll say it for the last time 17 18 year old kids are not gonna move to Invermae I'm sorry and that offends a lot of people I'm from those areas I played cricket from ten at my great club and from Scott Star this is where it's got to be and eventually I really hope that these people can move on because they're not doing anyone any favours your park is gonna be awesome after this upgrade it absolutely infuriates me and you can tell mr. Gutwin is exactly the same I loved it loved it cuz it's true we've got to get to news we do just getting our breath back yeah spend a fabulous morning to talk sport we had Sam Sigens on before the Tassie footy team playing the boys and girls today Peter Gutwin coming up we're gonna speak to Lauren Bingley who's a young star Prentice Jockey she's had 90 career what rides Brett and already had 17 winners that is an unbelievable strike rate we'll talk to her after the next break it's good to have this passion about local footy isn't again and this is what the Tassie I've had this theory and I hope I'm right the Tassie footy team the team is gonna really stimulate local footy and we're seeing a little bit of a snap shop that maybe that is a bit of the case well certainly conversations like the one we have with mr. Gutwin were helpful for eyeballs on on community football that there's no doubt about that look I mean you can debate this community footy model all day every day you could speak to a million people and it's fascinating so many different opinions but so many ways you could go yep but the reality is the model has been handed down it was handed down jeez I mean that's 12 months ago now the I mean that was the day after the major announcement Gumba Glachlan came down and announced the the provisional license and then the following day I believe the decision was handed down and communicated that we were headed to community footy and that the state league would be yeah gone yep so I mean we're 12 months on in this debate and yet still we spoke about it before the challenge for North Lonnie is that they've been unable to move forward and accepts that that is what's happening that's right and they need to work through how they fit in that you know and if if going into recess is there is their play then that's their play and but that would be a horrible loss to state footy but it just means that all those players go back into other clubs or back to the community clubs or whatever that might look like and and and the world will move forward and I think that that's what North Launceston are probably missing here is that maybe they've gone down this path of hey if we if we do this you know we decide that hey we're gonna quit then they'll change their minds they're not changing their minds doesn't matter whether you quit or not the world is going to move forward with or without the North Launceston footy club another text here on 0437 552535 great interview with gut one I'm so glad he ripped into North Launceston from Matt but we know our system by the way but no we do we aren't we doesn't this is the thing and this what annoys me southern toes man and people are so tunnel vision the other way they think there should be any games in your pockets we know I've got no I don't know you said no you don't you said don't I think that's it's totally totally peers I talked to and several names you know and you'd like most of them think that we didn't want to study not all of them there's a stadium being down here and I can't understand why we're not planning living games here we're spending all this money because we're a unique state but look at you know it's got to be games at your park look at the success of the jack jumpers David they play games and Lonnie you know it's how old it is but they turn up and play absolutely yep absolutely and and maybe money needs to be spent to support the jack jumps up there but but they do it and because it works and that's how you that's how you capture that's right the Tasmanian team you know the Tasmanian Tigers used to play in Launceston and Bernie or Devonport and they do us and we get stuff thrown at us and you know cricket's in a different space when it comes to north and south but I do think that you know games have to be played at your park and I want to say what's the best grant in the Tasmania I want to stand to that I want to cap this off by saying personally I am sympathetic to North Launceston scenario I feel for them it's a it's a terrible situation to be in and if it was clowns in the same situation I began off the head absolutely don't forget it don't forget that let's let's let's to all call us but please please move forward North Launceston and move forward move forward with the model absolutely be a part of it's part of it let it go please move on it's for the greater good and we're all going on this Tasmanian team journey with the devil's and it's gonna be bloody awesome we're gonna come back after breaking talk with Lauren Bingley this is Saturday's in Tazzy with David Lithgow and Brett Jeeves I told you with us it's gone pretty quick this morning sadly we're about quarter round ago Brett not much enough time here to talk basketball we certainly will I'm getting excited about the NBA all season again sort of sort of thinking about coming along isn't we're already at end of June the the fixtures come out what did you what did you make trying I'm trying to the AFL grand final night with the opener not the season opener but the opener and we think the presentation of the banner on grand final night yeah so banner presentation is gonna be great AFL grand final night I'm not sure there's gonna be a lot of ubers to the basketball I think I'd party from on I think one of the challenges with that is when you have an event build for what seven thirty tip off yeah that there'll be a fight somewhere no they won't not be that's what so make that's what concerns me is that April grand final day to you know let's be honest it's a to be a drinking day for a lot of people the blues when to be for them alcohol consumed so when when you end up you know kick-ons from seven thirty and the atmosphere and you're amped up and testosterone is flying in men particular my my fear is that that it might end poorly it'll be great at the start because the other the banner presentation will be something special and we'll be there and we'll get our memberships again I think those memberships might go up this year my gut feeling is that they might they never go down they might just they might just pop up a little percentage but um yeah that that concerns me about AFL grand final night but um it'll be a celebration for sure no doubt about it it's very very exciting and but Dave when you when you look at that month of basketball and we are we are trying to suppose to start with over the air course so the for the for the what do they call it the garlic week in Perth to start the season that'll start off from the 23rd but prior to that the intercontinental carp will be early September that's right so they'll go to that travel internationally of course come back have a only a small turnaround to be able to then get to Perth play and then so that that's going to be the the challenge for the jack jumpers is hopefully they can find good stride of the intercontinental cup come back with a bit of momentum and start the season well we've seen historically the teams that have traveled internationally so yes this Adelaide last year went over two years ago so two years ago beat Phoenix yeah did really well came back and then struggled since I got one last year yeah that's right jeez that's happened fast came back struggles yes the same thing happens in the NBA so teams that go on international pre-seasons they come back and start slow so that that's a scenario that is a bit of a challenge I think with a hectic September schedule look they're just just quickly hours we are we are trying to get hold of Lauren Bingley of course so if she jumps on the line we will get to her obviously from Taseraising yes we will but look they've got two weeks so they come back in an intercontinental cup it's only a six hour flight it's not a 20 you know you're not having to go to LAX or yeah and then you know disperse from wherever you go from there Las Vegas not a short flight from Los Angeles but then they get two weeks back home so I think it yeah I don't I don't think that's anything to see I reckon I mean I mean you effectively going away to an Asian town for for a week and a bit on a process and tour I mean they can ever want to be we talked about this last week they're gonna want to be in good shape it's pretty exciting to get you know it's the best South American to club team the best African team the best Asian team and then and you plan it against the best team from Spain the one the Spanish League bait we're in front of Ryan Barcelona so come on I mean this is this is awesome what a great opportunity and it's more opportunity as we talked about with Christine Finnegan last week for the game to continue to grow in a rapid sense footy have got a few years to go still haven't they so they've got a it's interesting it's courts I think they come about ability court about the court's coming I think that the the most recent suggestion is that 35 courts sure throughout the state to be able to fit everything in comes to them and there are there are social leagues that have been cut off because of the need to have junior teams practice and and that's fine I think you know old dogs like myself don't you know happy to sacrifice their social yes basketball to ensure that the next generation of players get get their core time but I'm you know I'm in the the fact that that's happening suggests that and that'll be happening all throughout the state that there is a significant shortage so I'm not sure what the answer is that's for more Benny Smith and basketball Taz and the the politicians state and federal text coming through flash from the tribe felly enough I was talking a group of Victorian yesterday and they were adamant we won't be successful at all no wins people won't watch players won't come here and if they do they won't stay there's nothing for players to do outside of their trading hours apparently it was a naive comparison Peter Gutwin was great thank you flash yes he was great he's a passionate Tasmanian man who's excited about turning up towards the devil's like the rest of us and has anyone ever been to Western Sydney who's that anybody have you been to Western Sydney yep what is there to do out there was a paramount up Penrith way all that sort of what they're big they're big cities within a city now aren't they yeah but it's not a cultural city like how far is it to to get the city you know to write in a city the harbor and and all the things that you know these Victorian people would be spruking as things to do no so that there is plenty to do here I think that that's a while comparison it's been a it's been a common one I flash years right there's been for sure you know the last several years of absolute rubbish you get out of the narratives from Melbourne arts is incredible the one that made me laugh the most was the fly and fly at coach oh David King Jesus what was he talking about and look if that happens I don't know but maybe it happens maybe maybe that's where the modern world is you know we're headed towards this open work environments and making it work for the individual and you know that's right working from home and different things is it's big now in the in the modern day maybe it happens maybe you and I wrong maybe our maybe our blue collar approach to commitment and loyalty different to the majority as always here for Taz racing an SCN stadium has arrived in Tasmania it's available in UTAS and Bluntston Arena for all AFL matches listen to the SCN call with zero delay no Wi-Fi required for the ultimate game day experience just go to the SEN app and of course you can catch the Melbourne Mavericks as they take on the sunshine coast lightning at my state bank arena next Saturday night super netball tickets on sale now now go to ticker tick that'll be good to have some professional netball in town absolutely you're calling that I am love it can't wait for it quickly whilst we're we're in the Taz racing segment what are your best bets for today if you got anything oh and how did the inevitable go never last week super round fourth yeah no cash for fourth yeah no they did I think they were in 100 I think they got some 145 grand so you're fourth out of 18 that's good it was really good yeah it was for the each way betters that probably got $10 or $11 supply they were they weren't far away did you did you watch the run yep did it go to plan as as Froggy mentioned last week when we spoke him look very close but he actually got he he just got a little bit because they he came in a couple more draws in the inside rails they go be close to the rail so he was effective in the middle of the rock he would have been liked to be little bit on the outside but he got a perfect ride through it he's so aggressive and he put it in a pretty good spot lost a little bit of momentum at the top of the strike which might have costed a little bit but the top weight was going way too well was never gonna be the first two it's a brave little horse you know again another great performance in a group one come back after break we'll keep talking for another two not long five or six minutes to go before 10 o'clock this is Saturday's in Tassie with David Lithgow and Brett Jeeves okay really good point here from @Stickers52 on Twitter where's the state owes so much to him talking about Peter Guffin of course without his stance we wouldn't be here and he absolutely stood up to the AFL when when it came to the the whips are really cracking and now they were trying to shift a team down here and all that stuff he said no we are doing that well yeah I've been during that time just fascinating how Premier Gutwin of the time let let's be honest he just flicked the bird at him and said no more and particularly after the Carter review which kind of said no standalone team you know you can have North Melbourne and Hawthorne or you can have someone to relocate joint venture former Premier Gutwin just went no no that that you know and in fact Hawthorne and North Melbourne cut off until we get a satisfactory response because I think the contracts with you to be renegotiated yes and he just said no we're until you come to the party and provide us something you know that works for us right you're out you're out you're out and and I think you know he was clearly the the catalyst for that negotiation taking place and I think that's where you put a backstory like that into why he's so passionate when he reads these articles in in his local paper the examiner why does he set in well I loved hearing from you off air about you know him being the public and of the of the top pub at Bridgeport and one of the great debates top bar versus bottom part but Bridgeport if you're a golfer you'll you'll know that debate yeah you know and you speaking you know about in your observation just a good man regular regular wife's love yeah just a good just a good dude and that that's brilliant you know we like that Scott style very fortunate to have him and North Lonnie not so much no no look that was some pasting that was the pasting and that'll be up in our socials as well I think that that is a must listen that's good stuff that and that you know and they're the sorts of things you can hang on to and this is good it's actually good for the competition up there because you know to create some rivalry clearly he's getting some fun calls I mean if you get one of the most successful premiers ever he won by one of the greatest moments of all time coming out with that strength you know that that's that's North Lonnie aren't helping themselves the the the the vote to shut it down to bad plan because it just creates anxiety amongst the players of course they're looking for new clubs it's a great morning show great have a great weekend catch you That's what I do.
