Now, for great racing and great places visit tazracing.com.au. It's the COVID infected Matthew Reed. The little fella joins us on the phone today. G'day, snap up. >> Morning, boys. No, I haven't got COVID at the moment. >> Fighting it off. >> You sound like you do. >> No, that's just how I sound in the morning, Brenna. >> Okay. >> Yeah, I haven't got the vocal chords warmed up yet. Now the wife's got it, so I'll have to drop the boy at school shortly, so unfortunately I couldn't make it in this morning. Now this is extraordinary, snap up. The first thing I want to talk to you about today, we did so many stories a few years ago about the state of the track out at Elwick. And I see this morning that Hobart Track Manager, Chris Hay, is one of the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association excellence in sports field and ground management award on Monday night. This is a big turnaround from where we were a couple of years ago. >> Yeah, absolutely, Brenna. And a massive achievement, that award incorporate kind of all sports and facilities. It's not just racing and it's massively rewarded recognition for Chris for the work that he's done on the Hobart Track. As he touched on it, he came in at a really difficult time. We were under siege and now it's one of the better performing tracks in the country. So he's got a great team out there. He's doing a terrific job and, as you know, with the weather at this time, and you're particularly out at Elwick, it's not easy to manage the facility. You don't get much warmth, the temperatures are low. You've got fog and everything to manage. So he got a bit of flak as most sort of gravmen and curators do. I'm sure his painting could attach that to him when it comes to pictures and things like that. So, well done to Chris and the team. It was very thoroughly deserved. >> We're all lawn and wicked experts, help, let's be honest. >> Absolutely, yeah, the pictures should be, more bare, more grassless grass. These greens are too long, they should be cut shorter. It's exactly the same with the tracks in racing. >> Absolutely. >> You've got to be thick skinned. >> You do. Snap a Sunday gallops at Hobart, Sunday, so we've got a 10-race card and there's only six meetings left for the season. Gives a bit of an update on that. And maybe a tip if you're feeling up to it. >> Yeah, I'm going to embrace the pain and give you guys a selection. We're kind of on the premiership watch here. And some days that, some days meaning it'll be really interesting one because John Cage, John Black, and Glenn Stevenson are all bringing pretty strong teams to the Hobart track, so I think they'll probably all have some expectation of leaving with multiple winners. So, how the cards fall after Sunday could have a big say in proceedings for the overall premiership. My tip, race three, number three, Rafael's raid. Poland is the connections of that horse, but he's the one I'm trying to put the moths on this week. It was a really good run first, that probably should have won that race. I think it just rolls to the front here and will take a pair of bleeding, so that's my selection. Few boys this week, race three, number three, Rafael's raid. I think we'll probably get somewhere around three bucks. Anywhere north of that, it'd be a good price. >> Okay, that's not bad. And Sunday harnessing Lonnie as well. Looks like a card that could be dominated by Victorian visitors. >> Stapper. >> Yeah, I touched on this briefly on Monday in terms of the Vicks coming across and kind of making a mess of a lot of our races. And the program in Launceston on Sunday night really threatens to be that. So Clayton Tonkin's brought a few across, but the feature race is a ripper. We see magician going around again, looking for three in a row. We've got the shallows in there as well. And Blitzen, who is one of those visitors as well, takes on some of our better ones down here. So it's probably a program for multis in Launceston on Sunday at night. There'll be a lot of shorties on that program, and a few punters will be looking for multisom up. But really looking forward to the seventh race on that program, which should be a beauty. And I should also quickly mention the win of Debbie Cannon, Seattle, in the Hobart breed, it's classic last night out at Elwick. It was a really impressive win. And that dog mob potentially be one of the next big things in Tasmania and Greyhound racing. >> The next Fastman 8. >> Oh, yeah, exactly. >> Potentially. >> Oh, love it. Hey, snap. Have you heard from anyone who travelled north for the Stradbroke? Because I have not heard. And I'm a little bit concerned. >> Oh, I'd spoke to Bear on about Wednesday, I think. >> He's back? >> Yeah, he was back using good spirits. I think he was a little bit flat as he'd tend to be after Grandpa on a weekend. But I think the boys enjoyed themselves and were pretty thrilled with the outcome of fourth. So the inevitable goes to race at the Sunshine Coast in a fortnight of the $300,000 handicap. So we'll follow his progress there as well. >> The Glasshouse. That's what it's called. >> That's him. >> Oh, very good. It's great racing in great places across Tasmania through winter. Visit tazracing.com.au. Have a read of that? >> Hasn't come through on mine, Breno, hasn't it? >> No, I'll get to it after this one. >> All right, we'll go to a break and come back with that.
