There's the pictures of Jason Lacanfora with us every Monday, 10 a.m. Eastern right here, Odyssey NFL Insider. I do better. I'm Jim Game Days with him on Sunday morning, so there it is. The Rams get a win. Another game they don't get to 20 points ever since that Buffalo game. It's been three straight, but yeah, it's just about all locked up there for the Rams. We were talking about during the break there, Jason. My head is spinning. My head is absolutely spinning with all these games that actually means something, the ones that don't, as the lines are moving further and further, how are certain coaches going to handle it, what they've done in the past. It's a mind something. Yeah, I mean, in a normal week, I am a big proponent of getting ahead in certain spots, so I will be working. By Thursday night, I'm usually working on the week ahead. Not the games coming up in two or three days, but the following 10 days. It was really impossible to do much of that this week. The lines were kind of all over the place. Obviously, with the way the NFL has changed, the playoffs, seating, and the scheduling, it really makes week 18, which is always tough. I think it's taken it to another level, especially if you like to jump ahead of stuff like me. So, yes, figuring out when would Sean Payton be comfortable enough to take his foot off the gas? At a certain point, does Andy Reid say, "Hey, Carson Wentz, I'm not risking you anymore. Here's door number three, door number four." We're going to have to gather more information on a lot of these games where something's at stake for one team or something's quasi-at stake for one team, like Washington. I mean, they just beat the Eagles. Would you rather play the Rams? Yeah, but then it could be short week. It could be long travel. They know the Eagles really well. Hurches missed a lot of practice time lately. I don't know. Are you going crazy with this kid, who clearly is the complete difference maker for your franchise, making sure you go all out to beat the Cowboys? I don't know. I don't know. It's a tricky, tricky week. I do know that overs cash like crazy in the NFC South, and we've got two NFC South division games where the better team is still alive for the division. So, I have jumped those overs. And I like the Bengals. I grab that two and a half. Tomlin, nobody's going to care if he won nine games or 10 games, right? They're going to care. Did you do something in the playoffs? He's pretty conservative at his core. I just don't know how much he's going to be out to go into the playoffs with momentum versus try to win in the playoffs. And Joe Burrow destroys his defense the last four or five times he's faced them. And I just, you know, Pittsburgh put up 44 points to beat them last time. I don't think Pittsburgh could score 44 points in three games against most NFL teams right now. So those are the three plays I've made. This number to me and Casey Denver is getting a little rich. And I'm wondering, where's my buy point on the Chiefs? Because eventually, the number becomes too big. Yeah. So they reopened it yesterday Denver at home against Casey six and a half. And I thought I need a little bit more. Well, you want 10? You're going to have 10 now. And you can have 10. You can have you can have. I looked this morning. It was eight. 10 now in Vegas. Kansas City plus 10. Are you thinking about it? I mean, part of me is inclined to that. But that's where I kind of want to, you know, I do still fancy myself a reporter. The Washington Post still pays me to report. Like, I want to watch a few Andy Reid press conferences. Like, I want to get a little time to gather. Like, where is he like if he wants cars to once to play this whole game, you know, and look, this is not college. You don't have 120 kids on your sideline. Like, they're going to be better defensive players who have to play part of this game. Like, as I get a better sense of it, and I do think you can glean some things, especially if you know some of the personalities, by how they conduct themselves when they meet the press. I want to get a feel for where Andy Reid is a little bit this week before I probably go there. But yeah, I mean, are they going to get totally embarrassed at Arrowhead? And on the other side, Sean Payton, like, if Bo Nix gets hurt in this game, what is he going to do? Like, that colors everything, right? I mean, no one's going to give a damn that you made the playoffs if he's not starting that playoff game. So what is the cutoff point? Yeah, it's fascinating. Like, recently, it feels like there are a lot of coaches that have decided, man, the seating doesn't really matter. If it's not the one, how much does the seating really matter? Like, we've seen smart guys like McVay certainly take that approach. I did want to hit it on the big game of the day. There were a couple good ones, but, you know, obviously a bad card. We talked about it on yesterday's show, but Minnesota Green Bay, and that means something and it determines what is on the line, which ends up being nothing as far as tonight. But I'm really interested in the Green Bay side. Yes, we know Minnesota can get the one, but against the Vikings, against the Lions, against the Eagles, the Packers 0 and 5 straight up this year. Like, love has had some strong second halves, but they haven't been able to take down these top teams. And now they're staring at a six or seven seed. Are you looking at the Packers as a fade in the playoffs? Because they would have to go on the road and take down probably all these teams. Yeah, I have to see the match ups first. I mean, I thought they'd win that game. Hey, football fans, bet MGM is giving you the chance to win up to $250,000 in bonus bets. You know, Koda Woodishoda, I did grab the plus seven and a half at halftime, so I mitigated some of my pregame money line losses and almost came through all the way. Yeah, I mean, it seems like there's a level of class, right, that they haven't been able to rise to. The 0-4-1 against the spread in the division. I mean, that game this weekend with Chicago, I don't know. I don't think, like, I'll probably just stay away. I don't think Green Bay is out to prove anything or show anything. And after their playoff run last year, I don't know that LaFloor is sitting there, you know, freaking out about who he's played. He's seen the best teams in the NFC. Like, he knows what he's up against. The one in Brazil was a weird one. You know, I mean, that one was weird as hell. I mean, both those teams have changed a lot since they played on a soccer pitch in Brazil in the summer. But I don't know, man. Like, the weird thing about them is the part that keeps getting me is they can play a C minus game against a really good team for a half. And you still come down and say, man, they were one play away from winning. They were a late field goal away from winning. So I'm kind of still probably on their line. They probably still have me. I don't know that I'll be taking them on the money line in the playoffs, but I, you know, depending on the matchup. But if they're getting enough points, I'm probably going to be on them. This is a little off the beaten path, but I was laughing so hard yesterday at Drew Lock, five touchdowns. The organization wants no part of a win. And the players and the coach are like, yeah, you take your number one pick and shove it, buddy. Like, how funny was that, man? The giants are so close to picking first. And, and now it's probably not going to be number one. Yeah. And you've got the Raiders winning too. Like it just seems like that. That's how it goes. I mean, that's the other. I mean, you're looking at the Giants and the Raiders thinking, all right, you know, somebody's taking Colorado, somebody's taking Miami. There's your quarterbacks. And Robert Kraft, as humiliating as that was on Saturday, like they've now got an inside run at the one seed. And they're, they like that quarterback. They should like that quarterback. I mean, he may be able to swing a pretty handsome trade and get a lot in return and still drop back a few spots and get whatever defensive player he whatever non quarterback he may want. So yeah, it's crazy this time of year how quickly that stuff flips. Look, I didn't bet it, but I almost bet the under in that Colts Giants game. I'm like, eh, you know, flakos, toast, true lock stinks. And what did they put up 70 points? I mean, that's why it's gambling. Those games right there, Jason, that was just a quick reminder to me as someone in a city where they fired the coach, it's been a disaster. People are laughing at them. I'm like fine. At least they're losing because I'd be really pissed if they were winning. Jacksonville. They know they're firing Peterson. They keep Peterson and they're fighting at the end. We we think that they're firing Pierce. I don't if they win three in a row, will they? I don't know. They're crazy out there. Are they going to fire him? I don't know. And they're winning at the end. And then Dave all gets that win yesterday. I felt like those three examples yesterday were an example of if you plan on firing the guy, just do it. Agreed. Agreed. No, we've seen we've seen people fall into that trap before, especially when it started happening so early this year. So you can hide behind keeping up with the Joneses. I don't want people to get a jump on me. I'd rather not be looking for this guy's replacement in the dark. We're going to already start running stuff, you know, not through back channels, but straight up. Yeah, we're talking to agents. Yeah, we're we're getting our ducks in a row. Yeah, we're thinking about that interviewing process. We're not waiting till the end of the year to try to do it all in five days before we start talking to people. When you're that bad and the guy has been cast that long. I agree completely. You know, a guy like Pierce hasn't been there that long. I mean, that that's and he did such a good job last year. You know, that's a tough one. Like, Dave, I think we've kind of seen, right? His goal was to find a quarterback. Like they they're a million miles from having a quarterback right now. Jacksonville. Yeah, I don't know, you know, he had to fire urban Myers so early in the season. Maybe that scarred him, but they're they're a mess. I mean, that they are they're a mess in Jacksonville. Yeah, I'm with you. I remember you can urban Meyer telling those players in Jacksonville that they wouldn't have started at Ohio State. What a jag he was. No pun intended. So we talked about this during the break tonight, right? Detroit, San Francisco. And we don't know how long these starters are going to play. The books don't know. There's huge ranges on backup backs and backup receivers. You've been so wrapped up in week 18 and playoff implications and all that. I don't know that anybody knows the truth in Detroit for what's going to happen tonight, but I guess if you had to guess, what would you what would you predict in terms of who plays and how long? I mean, I think Dan Campbell is pretty firm in his beliefs and he wants to win football games. He wants to win them in a aggressive manner. And he's not one to take his foot off the gas very often. I mean, we can just go back to the last time he was in San Francisco. And what are they running for 186 yards in that game? And if they had run the ball five, seven, eight more times, like most people think they showed up, they probably run for over 200 yards and they probably go to a Super Bowl. So when when, you know, when would the average person say enoughs enough? When would Dan Campbell say enough enough? I don't even know if Dan Campbell absolutely knows. I mean, game flow, does a guy get hurt early in that game? And all of a sudden, he's talking to his assistants and they're like boss, you know, the time and place. Like, does he something happen? And he talks to the GM at halftime in the locker room and they're like, all of a sudden that plan changes. I look, the Lions are a far superior football operation to the 49ers across the board. And I think Kyle Shanahan at this point in time is it just wants the highest draft pick he can get. So the three and a half still doesn't really scare me. Like, I mean, though I can see the Lions up 24 or three at the half, like 21, three at the half. It really wouldn't shock me. I haven't played the first half yet for Detroit laying whatever I'm going to have to lay. I hope I can still get two and a half out there. But I will certainly look into that. You know, I still think I'm on Raw St. Brown probably catches the touchdown pass before he departs this football game. You know, I think Kittle is kind of like the thing in that passing game now. And you look at Purdy at home and what what he's been doing this year and who's getting the targets lately. Like, you know, they're giving you pretty good plus money on six catches for Kittle. Like, I'm into that. And yeah, it still wouldn't surprise me if the Lions embarrass these guys. Jason, we got about 30 seconds. You're close to the Ravens covering them on a daily basis. How hard are they going to go for a win against Cleveland, revenge factor, three seed, all that on the line? I mean, I'm going to go for a win. But 17 and a half and rising like I don't. I can't do that. Man, I can't. I can't go there. Even the first half will probably end up being so egregious that I don't know. But like, yeah, they're going to win the game. I'll play some Lamar props. I think he can get two passing touchdowns in the first half of this game. Even if that he's probably going to play into the third quarter. So I will I will lean into props in that game. But those numbers are bonkers. Man. Yeah, certainly. All right, Jason, Jason Laka for an Odyssey NFL insider. I'm with him every Sunday morning with him and Kate Constable on Bet MGM game day right here on the Beck you all network. Best of luck tonight. We'll talk on next week. All right. Thanks, gentlemen. All right, Jason Laka and fora there. Don't forget, college football is here. We've got the college football playoff back in action tomorrow. A bowl game this afternoon. A bunch of other bowl games going down tomorrow as well. We're going to talk about the Monday morning market moves in college football next right here on the Beck QL. No, you're listening to Beck QL daily with Joe Wastrowski and Sam Penny Autovich presented by Bet MGM. The sports book born in Vegas. You're going to be a great player. You're going to be a great player. I'm going to be a great player. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] The markets are open. People always ask, well, why should I bet on Monday? Because you have the perfect number in front of me. And the numbers are moving. We've seen this total go from 47. You're dealing with numbers all day long. 49 49 and a half. Bang, bang, bang. Now you're getting a field goal in a game that was sitting pick them for so long. Let's dive into some Monday morning market moves. This is first day on Wall Street. Give them time. On bet you well daily presented by Bet MGM. [Music] Joe O'Sammie P with you. We're going to hit on the NFL Monday morning market moves in 20 minutes. I'm Casaly 11 a.m. Eastern on your college football games coming up, including the playoff ones, all the bowl games going on today and tomorrow. But Monday morning market moves. We're going to take a look at everything going on with the college football markets. A lot of bets will be coming in over the next few days. I want to start with this though. Our buddy Brad Powers Sam saw this yesterday morning. I was like, oh, he crappies right. Here's Brad Powers at Brad Powers 7. The ACC is now 0 and 10, ATS in bowl games, failing to cover by 8.3 points per game. The worst bowl season of any conference ever. The ACC got to get two teams in. Got to get two teams in on the ACC. That's a bad look, man. Oh, it's an ATS. That's Syracuse. I saw the number we're talking about on Friday didn't cover. I know did not cover. It was it was late though. It was late theatrics. I want to say it was 52 to 25. And then Washington State scores the touchdown goes for two or 52 27. Okay, it was late. I remember watching it being like, oh, that favorite's going to get home. And then the favorite did not get home. Those all those Friday. There were a lot of games on Friday, including Oklahoma going up 14 nothing and then never scoring again. Going, well, they scored at the end and then went for two, which was ridiculous. Yeah, Navy 98 year touchdown run in our eyeball on Friday. So the only two or own 10 ATS. What was the straight up mark? It couldn't have been much better, like three and seven, two and eight. Any idea? Yeah. So I had to throw you on the spot. No, no, I've got it. I'll pull it up here in a second here. So let's see. You've got. Where are we? So you got VOT. VOT. No, they didn't play it. So Clemson. Loser in the playoff. SMU losing the playoff. Pit. They lose. Oh, yeah. Toledo was a dog there. Sizable dog. Georgia Tech in that Vanderbilt. Paul was on that one. Vanderbilt covered and they were a dog. Syracuse just mentioned that they didn't cover what closed at 19. North Carolina loses by a couple touchdowns. You can. So, yeah, Boston college loses. Miami loses 42 41 Iowa State. And NC State loses the ECU that I give you. Was there an ACC winner? Syracuse Syracuse, right? That's it. So one in nine straight up. Oh, and 10 ATS. Oh, and the other thing too. I was really, what's the word? Not put off, but I was just very disappointed by all of the people. On social media, like these, these personalities in the media that are trying to drag Cam Ward for not finishing that pop tarts bowl. Get out of here. Just shut up. He didn't have to play at all. So how could he do that to his teammates? Oh, I've got millions of reasons why actually why he wouldn't play in the second half of the pop tarts bowl. Meaningless game for Cam Ward. I'm surprised he went out there at all, to be perfectly honest with you. But there were people. I don't remember if it was Lewis Riddick or. I can't remember, but I was like, can you imagine being a part of a team and sitting on the sidelines while your teammates are out there going to war? I'm like, there's a pop tart dancing on the scoreboard tour. Yeah, that was so weird. That pop tart dancing at the end. It was so stupid. Which one, which popular dancing. Yeah, I know, which it was probably decided before the fact I didn't see any of the post game stuff. But I'm sure everybody knew this is the situation. Hey, guys, I do want to play. But listen, I'm not going to play the second half. I had no issue for it. And I did no issue with it. I did see some of the same stuff that you saw where people were trying to drag him. That was an absolute joke. We've got a lot of games tomorrow. We've got one game today, a bunch tomorrow, one playoff game and then three playoff games on Wednesday. Let's just, let's just go chronological order. Throw out today. Music City Bowl. It's Missouri favored by two and a half total of 40. Hasn't been a lot of movement on this one here. But this is your only bowl game today. Yeah, I don't know that I'm going to get involved. I did see this rumor that Missouri was out all night in Nashville the last couple of nights. I don't blame them. Miss and curfew there there there have been some rumblings about that. I have some friends in the Nashville area and one of them texted me on Sunday morning that he hammered Iowa. And apparently he was drinking with a bunch of the Missouri players. That's a thing that this happens in bowl season and you know we did bear bats last week. And Jeff Schwartz who played offensive line in the NFL and also played at Oregon. He said there was a year that they went to some place like Vegas I think. And Oregon was all excited. It was 2021 22 hanging out in Vegas. They played BYU and Jeff says I'm 21. We were out. We were in Vegas. We're having a good time. And he goes, I'm lining up against this defensive end, who's married with three kids and he goes BYU destroyed us. BYU is like grown men married kids. They were an out partying. We were. So I mean this does happen in bowl season. Take that for what it's worth. And we did see a little bit of a move on Missouri. You know they're out to two and a half now. So I you know the money tells the bigger story. But I believe in Iowa's ability to you know play well in a bowl game. I would love three. You know this game is going to be like 1916 final. Or something like that. It's going to be some weird final score. I think every half point matters in that game like 17 16 Iowa wins on a field goal at the end. I will probably find myself on the Iowa side and if my buddy the great big fade now if he comes out Missouri I'm yeah I'm in on Iowa for sure. I hope he goes over. Does he do totals? Yeah. The great big fade? No. No he doesn't. He's just been fire inside favorites. First half favorites. Moneyline favorite. Okay. Five bowl games tomorrow one playoff game. I'll save the playoff game. These other bowl games and throughout the afternoon from when we get off the air all the way up into that playoff game we've got four of them. Alabama Michigan Louisville Washington Illinois South Carolina Baylor LSU all on New Year's Eve. The big move in the market was the favorite flipping in the LSU Baylor game. Baylor is now a three and a half point favorite after this thing opened LSU minus three so we've gone through the zero and a move of nearly a full touchdown. I guess every question I have about Alabama is what's up with Milro right like I don't I don't know you know there was a rumor floating around that one of these quarterbacks Milro or yours will go to Notre Dame next. Did you catch that they're already planning for life post Riley Leonard and viewers is obviously not long for Texas and Milro's not long for Alabama. I don't know why he would go out there and play the whole way because remember coming into the game in the pop tarts bowl the whole thing about Miami was what can boards going to play. And I thought I don't know why he would now that's a potential top five pick there are levels to this when you have a top five pick. It's different than a quarterback who's going to go to a new college potentially. I think we get points I mean 43 and a half is is a pretty, pretty low total. I think the the narrative around Michigan is Michigan can't score but I think you're going to see a lot of stuff from the boar. I'd lean over 40 let's see 43 43 and a half I do like the over in that game tomorrow. Wow 11 o'clock kick so we'll be on the air when that game kicks tomorrow. Oh yeah that's great. Perfect. That's interesting what you said about Notre Dame because Marcus Freeman went on record before saying that they weren't going to dip into the portal for a quarterback and that's been their thing over the last couple of years. This would be three straight years bring in a guy he ends up being the starter somebody with experience. Riley Leonard is not been great but I think it's the way to go man. That's what I would be doing. Look at these quarterbacks that have experience and how they're performing even if it's just for a year. It'd been great stop gaps and when you're a program like Notre Dame. There's going to be somebody else next year that has some experience and pretty high level that's going to come in. I would keep doing this. Yeah it sucks if you bring a guy in as a freshman and you're like a four or five star guy or whatever. But I mean given the current state of college football I would do this as well but yeah Freeman did come out and say they didn't plan on doing it. Are you talking coward had that right is that the rumor. Yeah coward said something and then there's an economic on X. Yeah that it could be yours or Milro. So this tweet has 70,000 tweets. It's a guy who apparently covers college football circles and he's saying that it's going to be one of the two. Or Milro so this would be you mentioned the other quarterbacks Oh Sam Hartman from Wake Forest. Right last year. Yeah. Which is ironic because that's why I mean if you put two and two together that's obviously why Dave Clausen just retired at Wake. You have a good team finally you have a quarterback that could play at the next level and then he bolts and says I'm going to go to Notre Dame. Like a lot of these coaches that they were cutting teeth for 15 20 years all of a sudden have to deal with this NIL and no I want this and I want that. Some guys just want to coach and we did just see Dave Clausen within the last week or two say I've had enough I'm done because he finally gets a quarterback that's good enough to play at a high level. And the first chance he gets I'm going to go to Notre Dame. Building a program. Is there such a thing. It's rebuilding on the fly every single year. It's leveled the playing field but it's also made it, you know, more difficult for some programs and then there are other programs that are out there bragging. Yeah, we don't do NIL. We don't opt out. We're here to win. We're here to play. It's a fascinating time right now in college football. All right, let's go to the playoff. The one thing that jumps out as far as Monday morning market move Sam is these lines have been pretty stagnant throughout. There's been a long waiting period here with a week and a half. We've got the Penn State game tomorrow night but not a ton of movement. We've got Penn State favored by 11 and a half against Boise. And then for Wednesday, Texas minus 12 and a half against ASU and then the big games Oregon minus two and two and rather Ohio State minus two and a half against Oregon. And then Georgia after flipping immediately Georgia still favored now one and a half about MGM. Two are gone on Notre Dame, though, which I like to see. I mean, when you really think about it, I look at the board and think, wow, Georgia's only one on Notre Dame, one in circa, one and a half at MGM. To me, that's a win for Notre Dame just on the surface to only be a one point favorite, Georgia. You would think given the way people talk about Notre Dame and how they like to bet against Notre Dame in these spots. The fact that this line is one, one and a half and not three. I love it. If Georgia was three and a half four, I'd be nervous, but the fact that it's, you know, it's coming closer to pick them. I think is a good sign for Notre Dame. We've seen them come in and blast Arizona State man. This was 13. I thought we were going to get to 14 at one point MGM has 12 and a half a lot of 12s. There's an 11 and a half right now in the market so some support for Arizona State. You're right Penn State has not budged. And then you notice Ohio State hasn't quite gotten to three yet. It's it's sitting two and a half at most places that total has moved up a bunch, 55 and a half right now in the Rose Bowl, Ohio State, Oregon, the rematch of the game earlier in the season that landed in the low 60s. I would think we get offense in that one again. I love Notre Dame. I've said it for a week now. I can't wait to be slandered on Instagram for another week. If the Irish don't win, but I've buttered my bread very well on Notre Dame futures and and plus two in the sugar bowl Wednesday. Tuesday show, it's going to be college football heavy. It's telling you right now because it'll be the last time that we're on the air before these eight game kick games kick off the four playoff games and the four games going on tomorrow. So you're going to want to make sure that you're here tomorrow for everything that we don't get to today. It's going to be full breakdowns on all of these games coming up on tomorrow show. We were calling Notre Dame before we had the game. We figured this was going to be the matchup and they did open Notre Dame as the favorite and all those people coming in on Georgia on Notre Dame and a playoff. Okay, it's not going to be Indiana in this one. I can't wait those last two games that we're going to get on New Year's Day, both phenomenal matchups. That's what we get with the playoff. It's going to be great. Joe Oh, Sammy P. How about the Monday morning market moves on the NFL? The most movement that we'll see all year. And it's not because of injuries. It's because of motivation.
