Hello, everybody. Hello. Hello. Hello. Welcome back to "Mintamatora's Summer Special" episode 16. Oh, my God. We've gotten so many episodes in the chamber, in the bag, in the bag, in the bag. All your money, jewelry, in the bag, episodes in the bag. Put your toesies in the bag. Toses in the bag. Said "Mataracon." That's me. I'm "Mataracon." She's got like one of those ski masks in her bag. Nobody will know it's you. "Mataracon." There was a meme like that, where it's just, I think, SpongeBob with the ski mask, and he's like, "Put the toe picks in the bag, and nobody, oh, put the feet picks in the bag, and nobody gets hurt." The feet picks? Oh, you're getting real specific about those toes. Is it because of that picture that Hanya was, for those who don't know, there was like a clip or something of Hanya watching "Mataro" show this burger with toes in it or something? How would you describe that? Okay. So, imagine like a woman in white tights, and she's putting her feet up, and then where the feet are, the toesies, you kind of put the burger bun and the lettuce on it, so it looks like you're eating a toe burger. And Hanya, just at first, was looking at the picture, and she did not get it at all. What do you mean, "What did she not get?" That it was a toe burger. She was like, "Oh, it looks yummy." "No, no, no. What is that?" And then later she's like, "Oh, she's cute with so much feet." She's so goofy. She really is cute. And then I saw the comments on Twitter that they were saying, "Oh, it must be, whose feet are those? Zen or Mints?" And people said, "It must be Mints, because Mata has in meds, so now some people on Twitter think it's a real photo that I took of your toes," which is crazy, because it was just a photo from the internet that we were showing on stream. "My toes barely come out, it's usually like a little wisp trail." Exactly. That you suck, you just go like, "Yeah, but no, I love Hanya so much." She's really sweet. And I asked a lot of you, Shoujo stuff, and then one of the clips I said, "I'm double D's triple threat." And she was like, "What are double D's?" And then later she goes, "Oh, no, no, I knew, I knew that it was, I know, I know about breath size." She's so cute. She's so cute. She's so cute. One of them. Sorry to talk about your, oh, she like this, but one of my favorite memories. We were playing Minecraft this winter, and she just, like sometimes she'll explain things with such enthusiasm, and it's hard not to kind of, you know, parent her, but she said she was like, "I was, I was, I was watching this movie," and they said, "You're not supposed to wash your underwear every day. You're just supposed to wear it, and then change it, and then wear it, and then change it." And then girls were like, "No, no, no, no, head, yeah, you should wash your underwear." Wait, why would they, what do you mean, wear it and then change it? Basically she was saying that like, you wear it on one side, and then you like turn it upside down, wear it on the other side, which is like crazy, right? And then you do it again, and then you just have like one pair of underwear for three days or four days. Oh, no, no. We're like, "No. Let's go." She's thinking, okay, I'm sorry that I know this is the Anime Expo episode, but I've talked a lot with Hania on stream and off, and this story, like she's so funny, because she'll say the most crazy things nonchalantly. So we were talking about if we have driver's licenses, and I don't, as you know, and she was saying that she's not allowed to drive really, and she doesn't drive. She crashed two people's cars that weren't her own in one week. Why? She had a job parking cars, and she crashed someone's car, and then in the same week, she crashed another person's car. Oh my God. What did you know about? No, I had no idea. She doesn't have her parents don't allow her to have knives at her house, because she kind of talked about like her cooking, and Zen was asking Zen's like, "Oh, you need a knife for this?" Basically, we're going to do like a cooking thing, and Tanya goes, "Do I need a knife for it? Because my parents don't allow me to have knives in the house." Oh my God. Oh, she is a liability. She's so, so funny. Like, sometimes I ask her what she does when she doesn't stream. She says, "I just wake up, watch anime, read manga, stay in my room." Like, in the corner of my room until it's time to stream, I fully believe her. I believe her too. I fully, fully, fully believe her. No, that's the HIKI life, baby. She's a HIKI kamori. She's amazing. Yeah, that's the HIKI life, I mean, I don't know. I don't leave my maid cafe so often just to get food. Can we ask, who else is living that dream kind of nerd life where you have your little nerd cave, especially in the United States, you can Uber eat, not Uber Eats. You can like get your groceries delivered. I think the dream is kind of, you know, that's subjective, right? I'm talking about the Hania dream, where you just, you wake up, you watch anime, manga, movies, play games, maybe do a little bit of work from home, depending what your work is. Get your groceries delivered. Maybe you have like those meal plan things and you're good. Yeah, I think anybody that works from home could kind of have this lifestyle, right? Mm-hmm. No. Mm-hmm. Which is funny because she was telling me, oh, I'm sorry, this is the Hania episode. She was telling me that she's been going to the gym a few times just to get a little bit stronger. She talks about it on stream. Oh, yeah. But then-- Wait, she's going to the gym? And a few times. Where's my hickey? Only a few times she went. And this was around this winter and she's like, I want to gain muscle. And then I ask her what she eats. And she goes, I had half a tomato sandwich in the morning, half a neck at night. And I'm like, okay, but if you're working out, baby girl, you need to eat a little bit more. And then she's like-- I don't have any energy. That's why you don't have any energy. So I love her so much. She's so cute. Silly. She's silly. She's silly. She collab with her. She'd invite her to a collab. Okay. Have I already collabed her two times? You should actually-- Yeah, two times, right? Yeah, good. You should do one of those-- I know we talked about it last time. One of those games where it's like each person has a POV. Oh. Like a way out, et cetera. You should do one of those. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, maybe. I don't know. It might be fun. Shoot your shot. Okay. You got it. She's not to tell not to me. She's telling not to you guys, too. Shoot your shot. Shoot your shot. You also asked Kane to collab. Everybody listening. Imagine. Yeah. Everybody asked Kane to collab. No, no. [LAUGHTER] You should be like, what's going on? But this is the anime Expo episode who here has attended anime Expo in the past or in the present or whenever. We both have, and we'd like to talk to you about it. Yippee. Yeah, we went last weekend. We had some crazy, crazy, crazy stuff happening. Can we lead with your stuff? Because I think it's amazing and incredible and show-stopping. One of a kind. Never replicated. Never to be done. Eat it. [BLEEP] It out. What was the rest of the Lady Gaga quote? I don't think that's the quote. [LAUGHTER] Eat it. Digest it. Poop it out. No. I've never heard that. Well, we just said it. We just made history. Um. Sure. We were born to make a story. Sure. Tell them what did you do? So I did not go with the intent of anime Expo, but I had an event that was during anime Expo, where I had virtual vacation hosted by Oshie Spark. It was a concert, and it was so much fun. Oh my god. It was crazy. We're going to put some pictures on if you have any, also send them in. But yeah. Wow. You had a concert in the, I think it's called the El Rey or the Del Rey Theater in Los Angeles. Lana El Rey. Lana El Rey on the 5th of July, so it's just so, wow. That was insane. I'm so freaking proud of you. Thank you, babe. It was my first ever concert. Mm hmm. It was, um, it was a bunch of NTV tubers. It was me. It was, um, Uteno Pandora. It was Bowe, and it was Miyori Celeste, Celeste, Celeste, Celeste, not Celeste. Yeah. Someone. I, there was like someone who talked about how they always got her name wrong. They were like, I've been calling her Miyori Celeste for years. Oh. It was correct with me. And now in my brain. Miyori Celeste. It's the wrong name. Mm hmm. It's the wrong name, even though it's been the correct one forever. But, um, everyone was so great. I got to meet, um, Pandora and Bowe in person. And we, they were so sweet and, oh my gosh, Pandora gave me like this little notebook and like a little, like, card, like a, ah, nice to meet you. Oh. It was so sweet. Oh, she's really British. She really British. She brought Ash. She British. She brought Ash. Tell me about how the concert was laid out, how it was. Like, so if anybody in the future sees you do another one of these, like, what can they expect from something like this? Um, because I, unfortunately, before, I know, I always do this, I ask you a question and then I, um, I couldn't attend. And I know everyone's going to meme on me, but I genuinely had a really big thing that myth knows about that I couldn't go. I had a really big business dinner, a really, a really big business. It was big business and it's going to get announced real soon, real soon. So it was really big business. Um, yes. So, oh my gosh, the theater was actually, it was so fancy that it was like, there was like sconces on the wall and what chandeliers sconces, scon, is that what it's called? I don't know. It's like sconces. You mean like the, the, the pretty molding or whatever? It's not molding. The, the lights that are like, they're, they're like wall lights, but they're called sconces. Sconces. Sconces. Sconces. It kind of sounds like sconces, which is, um, skunk in Russian. I mean, they, they could have been those two. I don't know. Trying to find it, but they were like shit. It was just very like, felt elegant, like a lovely place. Yeah. I think LA is really good with that kind of stuff. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. It felt like very, uh, old school, you know, like, oh, I'm going to the theater and, and I was my British accent. I don't know. I wonder what kind of, but really, I was asking, I was like, what kind of shows do you guys do here? And I think they do like indie band or like bands and stuff like that mostly, um, I guess indie bands. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Yeah. So I think, uh, I think she performed there the year before, but, um, the way the concert was set up though, um, people were there in, in the crowd, right? Yeah. And you girls were singing. Yeah. And there was even merch, like I saw commemorative merch that you can buy, uh, Hyunee who did our sock design actually did one of the photo cards for the merch I saw. Yeah. It was so cute. It was like, uh, it's one of those, it's kind of similar to our merch where you like take pictures with it, like, you know, like, oh, this is us in the place. Yeah. Yeah. So, um, she did that. Um, there were T-shirts and pen lights and, um, it was just, it was just so crazy because it was my first time also performing, like doing it, like it was my first time doing a concert, but then also first time performing in front of people. So, which is so different because usually if I'm like at home, like, and from the comfort of my maid cafe computer and just like, just not having to worry about, but that kind of stuff. But here, you could hear the crowd so, I mean, obviously because they were right there. Yeah. They were right there. Um, so I have this problem that I have a really hard time already hearing myself saying I cannot hear my voice back into the, into the feedback, like I need to have one earphone off. So, if the venue is loud, I have a really hard time singing. It was, it was like that though, because, okay, so be doing that, we obviously did sound check before, but doing sound check. Yeah. With a quiet room. Yeah. With a quiet room. And then doing it where there's so many people was insanely different. And I even got off, I got off beat because you can't hear anything, right? But you just have to hope everybody was cheering so loud, which I mean, was amazing. Yeah. I'm not going to like, I'm complaining about everybody's cheering. Everybody shut up. But I guess if you are performing, right, you want it to be amazing. And if you can't hear yourself perform, it's stressful. Right? Yeah. And then I also couldn't hear what I sounded like. And I had like my lyrics, I performed, um, stellar stellar, which is one of my favorite. Oh, yeah. What was your sex? Oh, I did a metal gear song. Okay. Yeah. When you don't know. And then I did Eek and I borderline. And then I did, um, stellar, stellar, and then I did, um, cajun, sandman, nicks, oh boy, du, du, du, and then I did new romantic sailors. Ooh. Oh, okay. Okay. And then what was your, um, did you have an encore? Oh, so, um, there was an encore where a bow came out, like on stage as herself, as her flesh woman. Mm hmm. Flesh woman. Yeah. Which was like kind of crazy. She's saying, balafornia. And let me guess, like everybody knew the lyrics, right? It's, well, it's so funny because she was just like, nobody's going to know the lyrics to this. And then people were singing along. She's like, how, how did this like one time on a stream? How do you guys do the lyrics to this? Bow is, um, bow is really good with meme culture and memes. I feel like bow is on the pulse of like, what the, I want to say the children, but genuinely I really do mean like 22 year olds, 25 year olds, like bow just knows. And she's like, she's a meme lord. I love that. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, it was so funny. The visuals for it came up and I was like, what is happening? What is going on? I was like, cause um, afterwards we sang break stuff together. Was that your idea or her idea? So it's kind of funny because it was actually, um, it was actually, oh, she sparks idea. Like they, but both of us thought it was each other's ideas. So she thought I had asked if she wanted to do it. And I thought she had asked if I wanted to do it. Interesting. Afterwards, afterwards, I mean, we were both like, it was so awesome. We were so happy to sing with each other, even though it was like this metal song, but um, how did you divide the parts? Uh, they did for us and that, but I felt so bad. Oh my gosh. I felt so bad because, um, I, there was a part that I wanted to, um, that I wanted to sing. And so I was just like, can we switch the parts? Knowing that bow had learned her part. Oh, yeah, lyrics, you know, so I was like able to be fine, which she like had to memorize it. So she basically, she just had to memorize the whole song. I was like, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Yeah. Cause when I, when I sing a song with somebody, I don't learn the whole song, especially, well, in this case, the song is in English, but especially if the song is in Japanese, I will only learn like the parts that I, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, like I, I get it. If it's just like, I don't know. It's like different. If it's like an idol group and you have to, you know, you, you perform the song all the time. You're going to memorize it eventually. But if it's like a cover, you know, like I'm singing "Snow Halation", I'm learning just my part of "Snow Halation". Yeah. I was, um, I noticed that because when I was at a maid cafe with Onigiri, uh, in Japan, I, I, um, what is the word? I, uh, requested, uh, requested "Snow Halation". Thank you. Um, I requested "Snow Halation". And then because I had done a cover of that song before with a, with, uh, with Vishoujo, I knew a lot of the song, but there were some parts that, obviously, I know the chorus because we all sang it. I know a lot of my parts. And I knew some of the parts leading into my parts, right? Right. Right, right, right. And, and, uh, initially, like, I had a different part, so, but there was a few, like, lines that I just, I didn't know. And it was very obvious when I started singing and I'm loud and then I'm just quiet. ♪ I've ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever ♪ ♪ I've ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever ♪ - No, no, no, it was like, it was like, it was like, I knew lines on lines on lines, but then like, one or three lines at the end, I just didn't. - So how did you sing it? - She's like, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no." - Oh my God, I have, I so lost my voice. This is, so for example, they started, and I'd be like, (singing in foreign language) Like I know verse one, everything like that, but it's just at the end, some of the, like, I think verse two, I didn't know that much, but the pre-chorus, the chorus, like, yeah. - You actually remember so much. - I had to sing it! (laughing) - Yeah, but sometimes, you know, it's kind of like, you know, somehow some people will study for a test, but they only memorize it for the test. - I do have that with a lot of songs, unfortunately, where sometimes I kind of, okay, I'll request a song, and I think, okay, do I even know this song? My biggest problem with songs isn't the lyrics, sometimes it's the pitch. It's remembering like (singing in foreign language) Like I don't remember if it goes (singing in foreign language) Like where it lands, the note. And also right now, I'm so sorry, guys, my voice is low and deep, you know? - She's been talking a lot. - I've been talking a lot. But that's my biggest problem, is just remembering where the note falls, so. - See, I think that's okay sometimes, but I thought you were gonna say the pacing, because that's what trips me up the most with some songs. But for the pitch, I think, you know, Peter, you just call it artistic liberties, so get it wrong. - I have that problem too with the pacing, where I tend to, so I'm actually a really lazy singer, which is what my teacher told me. - I think it's lazy. - I think so too, girl. (laughing) Where I'll tend to make notes longer or shorter, because it feels better. (laughing) - I do that too though. I do that too. - I just cut a note short or on the opposite, really extend a note, because it allows me, so I'm pretty good at sustaining long notes, but that's why everybody will be like, "Oh, you're vibrato, I don't know what I do, "but I just know that the note is long, "and I don't want to hold it." So I just kinda let the note go, and it does the vibrato. (laughing) - You don't know how to, wait, you don't intentionally do the vibrato. - No, I just, basically the way I explain it is like, instead of holding the note tight, I let go the note. I'm still holding it, but I'm just not holding it as tightly, because it's-- - It's tan. - It's amazing. - Yeah, I'm embracing it. Anyway, sorry, back to break stuff, so you girls take break stuff, and you had a lot of fun with it. - Yeah, and I think the crowd seemed to also, it was just, it was a very, I don't know, oh my gosh, I just, I went on Twitter, and apparently this new metal account is tweeted about it, and it kind of went viral, which I feel like-- - Look, that's amazing. - This song goes, me singing this song goes viral. - Every time. - But I cannot listen to it. I get so second-hand embarrassment, people will be like, "It sounds so good," but to me I'm just like, "Nope, nope, I cannot," like there are other times when I'll listen back to my karaoke's and be like, "Oh, I sounded like this, "I should change it." - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - But for that song, I just, I cannot. And then I was like, "Oh wow, this account posted about it, "I wonder what people are saying." And half of it, I'm getting roasted in the car. - Oh, because you're an anime girl, right? And it's a new metal account. Yeah, yeah, it's like, in your defense though, like they did the same thing with baby metal until baby metal started performing at shows, and people started realizing, oh my God, baby metal is just such hard-working girls, such sweet girls, but when they also were, and even nowadays, even though baby metal is so well-known, well-loved, well-appreciated, you'll still sometimes see people say that. But a lot of older metalheads are so sweet. And so, that is one thing where they're so sweet and so inclusive, but yeah, I'm sorry you dealt with that. - No, it's fine, I laugh about it. I'm not upset about it at all. I just think it's, I was like, "Oh, what are people saying "at the canvas?" And I'm like, "Oh no, I should have opened the carpet." - We talk about that sometimes, right? Where it's like, I think a lot of streamers and VTubers, right? There's this idea of, you know, if you go viral, if you get more viewers, it's good. It makes sure that your content, 'cause the natural cycle of viewer is, you know, you find a YouTube streamer, you find a Twitch streamer, you find a YouTube video, you watch a lot of videos, maybe a month, a year, but eventually you don't watch as much. And that's normal, even the, you know, that's, so you kind of always need new people in. But you and I both talk about it. - We have, we have about going viral is scary, especially as an anime character. - Especially as an anime character, especially as like, to me, it's so like, seeing, but, you know, I know that the same thing was happening with like the, in the Dodger Stadium, where like, Hall of Life was there. And a lot of the comments were, but the reality is, stadium was full, the fans loved it. On YouTube, the fans are loving it. Hey, gotta do what you gotta do, you know? - Ah, no, I'm not upset about it at all. I was just kind of like, oh my gosh. - Yeah, should not have opened the comments. (laughing) - That's so funny. - Honestly, this is why I don't have a TikTok, because I just know that, sorry, my throat. I just know that on TikTok, it, it's just sometimes people like, dunking on you or talking shit or everything, which, whatever, everybody, like, people are allowed to talk shit about me. Have fun with that. I get it, like, I too was 14 one day, and I would be like, this person in that TV show looked at that person wrong. I hate them, you know, I get it, I get it. But, I just don't want to open it and read it and consume it and maybe like, let it, you know, get under my skin. - Nah, I get it. I, people on TikTok are so brutal, man. - I know, I know, that's why I don't have a TikTok. Have you ever seen the comments, though, that are just like, post this on Instagram Reels? Because apparently on Instagram, they're even more brutal. (laughs) They're just like, you should post this on Instagram Reels. - You know, it's-- - That's like the highest insult. - It's kind of crazy, because like, I am on TikTok, and I've been sometimes seeing comments where I'll open a really sweet video, and the comments are just off, and the worst part is, people just copy the same comment. So it's not even like, you're being creative and original and exciting. It's just, they'll just post the same type of comment. - It's great on mute. - Yeah, things like that, but-- - This is fire on mute. - I don't know, 'cause I do feel like, there was always negativity online, right? But lately, I don't know if it's just, it feels like it's gotten worse on TikTok, but maybe I'm wrong, and I'm just going to the wrong places, or-- - No, I think you're right, though. I think it's, you know. - 'Cause a lot of people have talked about it, right? - As well, about like, how crazy some Instagram, anyway. After this episode, we get roasted on TikTok and Instagram. - They're talking bad about my favorite app application, how dare they. - So for the concert, how long was everyone set? - Oh, I think 30-- - So was it two-hour concert, or a little bit over that? - It was about a two-hour concert, yeah. - I like that, I think that's a really good time. - Yeah, actually, I think it was more like hour and a half. No, two hours, yeah, two-hour concert. And yeah, everybody's set lists were really great. Like, Miyadi had this one, like, "Netorare" song. Everybody was like, they were all like, joining, like, together. They were like, you know, it seemed like, it looked like an old shanty, like, you know, like, you know where, where, like, all the pirates, like, wrapped like their arms around each other, and like, swings, I decide. - I love that, yes. - Yes, yes, yes, yes. - So funny. - That's what they were doing, it was so cute. I was like, what is, to this, to this very wholesome song, and you know, it was so fun. And yeah, like, it just was good vibes all around. I mean, we were a little bit nervous, because I think the concert was announced before, like, the Dodgers thing, and it goes-- - Yeah, and it was at the same time, right? - Yeah, it was at the exact same time, and I was like, I feel bad, because, you know, there probably were people that maybe got tickets to this, and then wanted to go to the Dodgers. - Of course, of course. - You know, we're just like, I can only pick one or the other, and I already spent money on this, and I also wanted to go to the Dodgers. - Of course, of course. - It looked so awesome. I wanted to see the drone show, and, you know, everybody. But, you know, I think there was just so much happening on that Friday. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - There was, like, us, there was the Dodgers. There was a virtual vacation. There was, there was, like, two other shows that were going on at the same time as well. - We had a V-showjo industry mixer, which, by the way, I opened Twitter while I'm at the mixer, and I see my CEO at the Dodgers game. (laughing) And I'm like, you know, we have a thing. You're coming back, right? (laughing) - Hello. - He was there. - You're coming back, right? My friend. - Hey. - He did, he did. - Baseball. - Sorry? - Baseball. I mean, he just loves baseball. Gunrun loves baseball. - That's true. - I was kind of, I actually really wanted to go, too, because, like, as a, like, a long time ago, I used to sing the Star Spangled Banner for baseball games. - Okay. - I was-- - I don't know what that is. I only know that because of, for, keep going. Whoa! (laughing) (laughing) - Yeah, she has her infamous-- (mumbling) - Star Spangled Banner is the one, oh, say, okay, yeah. Okay, can you sing it? - No. - Please? - I don't know if I know the lyrics. - Just pretend we're, oh, come on. - You used to sing it at baseball games as, like, a young, a young girl singing? - I'm gonna set the scene. - Okay, I'm listening, I'm closing my eyes, I'm ready. - Okay. (audience applauding) - Can you hear that? - No. - Oh, you didn't hear that at all. - What were you doing? (laughing) I was like, she's really quiet. (laughing) - I have, like, a little sound mixer and it played, like, a sound of the crowd's tear. (laughing) We were like, why are you just-- - Can you drop this deep lore? - Wait, drop what? - The deep lore? You said you used to sing that song at baseball games? - Yeah. - Go on. - I would just open the, so I went to, like, a school and, like, an academy of the arts. - Oh, my God. - She's a theater kid, y'all. - Culture. (laughing) - Yeah. - Oh, we know, we know, don't worry. - They would have students from the school that would sing, that would open up baseball games and stuff. - I want those baby pictures. - I'm so hot. - Sent to me, rather, I want them, I want them, I want to see them. - No! - Please, I need to see them. I know you. (laughing) - What do you even even know? - You told me. - Yeah, as a kid, I had a mullet. (laughing) - Please, I am begging on my knees. I need to privately see those pictures. - Oh, gosh. - This is really exciting. - You were always born to perform. - I know, I'm just, I'm a star, I'm a star. - I'm a star. - Hey, who knows, maybe next year, you could be at that stadium. - I don't think that, but we'll see. (laughing) - I don't know about that one, but you know, I think it was-- - You'll be more noise-cuning. - I think it was very cool, like, it was a huge-- - Hold on. - One giant, one small step for Vtubers, one giant leap for Vtubers' kind. - I just had a Raven Simone moment, where she's like doing the, if you look into the future-- - He did. - Okay, hear me out. Gordon Ramsay, he just did a show where he was like looking for Twitch, it was called like Adiot Fish, or Adiot Sandwich, I think, where he was looking for Twitch streamer, and one of my pals actually won the show, Vio, but basically, Gordon Ramsay was-- - Wait, won the show or got on the show? - Won the show. Like, it was a show called like Adiot Sandwich, where he was looking for people, I'll be honest, I still haven't seen it, but I know that one day I could just like, react to it, but, hold on. And Gordon Ramsay launches new show, Adiot Sandwich, hold on. - Do you have to cook? - No, that's not what I'm saying, so-- - What is, hear me out. He opens a new restaurant in Vegas, and you're there to moy moy-cune. (laughing) - All of this just to moy moy-cune. (laughing) - How crazy would that be? - That would be pretty crazy. I think people, I don't know, I feel that like, like, you know, the reception for the Dodgers game was like, it's kind of similar when like, a Japanese group goes on Jimmy Fallon or something, and they're performing. Like, usually people are quite receptive to it, they're like, oh, this is kind of a wacky new thing that I never would have heard or seen before otherwise, so I think more people are more receptive to it. - More open to it. And Vegas is such a spectacle that I think if like, you're there as a maid and you're moy moy-cune, it's like when Salt Bay went viral for the Salt thing, you know? It was-- - Yeah. - You could be-- - Actually-- - Made Bay. - It's so-- - It's funny because I actually had an idea. Well, okay, I'll tell you later because-- - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - I have had ideas, Matara got-- - Oh my god, I'm shocked that this is crazy. - I know, I think actually, it's a pretty good idea. - Oh my god, you can't tease even a little bit? - No, but here I'll message you real quick. Okay, and I'll be like, oh, wow, just so everybody can like suffer a little bit. Oh, oh, wow, whoa. - Yup, yeah, I know, crazy, crazy ideas. - She hasn't written the idea yet, by the way. She hasn't written it yet. - I know. First off-- - Ooh. - Ooh. - Do you know that name? At the end? - Uh, no. - Okay, see you then. - Yeah, this is probably like so off. The people is in there just like, what is this? - This, yeah, yeah, sorry everybody. This, 'cause I think you've talked about-- - Yes. - Okay, yeah, okay. - Yes. But anyway, anyway-- - Yeah, cool, cool. - Okay, yeah, so-- - Oh, oh, oh, okay, cool. I think your idea's trash and I think you suck. - I know, I knew you would say that. - Throw it into the dumpster with all the other ones. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Yeah, anyway, what did you do at anime? - Wait, are we done talking about your show? Your concert was amazing. I really am sad I couldn't go. I promise next year or whenever, if you have a concert, I will do my best to come. I really didn't have a thing. Sorry, y'all. And then, okay, so we have a problem. And that's not a real problem, but I'm gonna pretend it's a problem because it's funny. So you showed up and you're not a party person, which is fair. You showed up and you had the concert, so you didn't wanna go to any parties, which you were so valid because what if you get sick before your concert? Hello? - Well, yeah, yeah. The concert was on Friday, so I was like, I'll just do stuff on Saturday instead, so no. - Thank God I had a lunch with you and I actually got to see you, which, by the way, when I was telling stream about my stories, I did not tell them the old man story and the Uber story. So we can actually, I kept them for the podcast. I kept my most precious stories for this podcast. But basically what was happening is, on Friday after your concert, you said you were gonna come to the Vichodio mixer. And Bao actually came and a few other people did, so I was like, oh, and then on Saturday, you said you were gonna come to a party, et cetera. At some point, I was talking in a conversation circle with somebody I had met that weekend called Crekin. And here one point was like, "Mattara, "I don't think she's real." You keep telling me about this stinky GF mint and mint and you keep saying she'll come and then you're always like, oh, sorry, she's got a thing, oh, she got a headache. Oh, today, oh no, she's actually flying home today, yeah. But I had lunch with her. Look, this body pillow was hers. I just kept, I could be like, no, no, it's true. Look, look, look, this little body pillow. Yeah, that's my stinky girlfriend's husband. Yeah, haha. - It's like, what was I gonna say? Oh, shoot, oh no, I had so that. - While you're thinking, at one point, it was like Crekin, Ricky, me, and Lime. And while Crekin was telling me this, I'm like, "Limes, tell her, tell her she's real." And Lime Alicious just goes, "Mattara, "I also have not met this." And I look at Ricky and he's like, "Mattara, "don't look at me." - And the worst part. - It's true delusions. - Is later on, I think one of the later days, one of our friends in common, he came to give me some stuff that he had for me and he has met you. And I was like, oh, Limes, Ricky, see, this friend can vouch, mint exists. And of course, what does he do? He just goes, "Mattara, I don't know, girl. "I don't know, I think you gotta let her go." (laughing) - Didn't you know you've been recording this podcast by yourself the whole time? - Yeah, the whole time everyone's like, "Damn, when do we tell Mattara she's crazy?" - It's just been half silence. Everyone's just kind of, there's nobody knows how to bring it up, so they just allow it to happen. - Yeah, no, but everyone's too scared to confront me about this. - Yeah. They're just like, she really believes that she's doing a podcast with a ghost. Well, can they see ghosts? How would they know? - How would they know? - How would they know? Can they see ghosts? - You know, that TikTok sound? How will they know? They're gonna know. - I know, I know. How would they know? - Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do. Now I can finally say my crazy story. And then I can talk a little bit. My ex story is a lot longer than your ex story, 'cause I was there from Tuesday. And then I left all Monday night. - But also, you didn't really go to AX. - I went because, because, because I had a business lunch every day at like 11 or 12. And then I had a business dinner. And then I had a mixer at like seven or eight. And then I had another mixer at 10 or 11. This is why my voice is this way. - Yeah, you've been talking a lot. - It's a lot. And because I am with a lot of introverts, you know, I felt like I kinda, you know, I said the mood, I start the combo. - Can I defend myself first a little bit? - I wasn't attacking you. - No, but, you wanna fight? - The podcast is fresh, let's go, okay, let's fight. - Yeah, yeah, let's fight, okay. First I would like to defend myself a little bit on why I was not at these parties. - No, I told you you're so valid, queen. - I know, but, queen. (laughing) - Queen, queen, queen, queen, queen. (laughing) - Well, okay, so after, I did say, though, that I was gonna go to both. And then after the concert, 'cause I felt really bad too, because like, we were gonna ride together, like me, Bao and Pandora and everything. We were all gonna like, take the same thing. And I asked the person that invited me to the mixer. I was just like, can I bring these two friends? And they were like, no, sorry, it's like, we're completely booked out. Like, I don't think we can fit any more people. And I was like, but my friend that I was with, so I was like, okay, we'll abandon the other person. But my friend that I was with, she-- - I hope they're not listening, 'cause that. (laughing) - Well, she had been with me the whole time. She did me a favor by coming to the venue and being backstage with me. Like, she actually came to the con to work a different event that night as well. And instead was like helping me out. So I was just like, this is my girl, I'm not gonna abandon her. And so I asked the person, I was like, can I at least come bring my one friend? Can I come with her just instead? And they never responded. So I was like, I'm not gonna go to the, to the event and them turn her away. And then me be like, sorry, girl. So instead I went to Annie Bash and it was so much fun. (laughing) - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I get you. You know, if you were already post-concert, I do think that the Vichogio mixer was definitely like more industry than streamers. It was a lot of industry folks. It was a lot of that. - Really, you don't think it's the opposite? - No, I think you were-- - I thought it was more streamers than industry. - It was like a good 60/40. - Okay. - Yeah, but a lot of other parties is like 90% streamers, you know? - I guess it depends on what kind of parties. - Yeah. - There was like some-- - The parties I go to. - Yeah, the party's like, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know socialize. Well, I really, I brought, I made, okay, like the night before AX, I made business cards. - Uh-huh. - You only handed out what? - Maybe. - It's okay. It's fine because it was the Blue Archives, and I was just like-- - Oh, worth, worth. - And then the composer followed me back on Twitter. - Oh my God, you're in. - I'm in. - You're in, you're in, it's happening, it's happening, it's happening. - Yippee! I love Blue Archives, but yeah, so, you know, it's okay though. - I went to the con on Wednesday, 'cause I wanted to get my badge, I wanted to see the booth, I wanted to talk to every, yeah, day zero, I wanted to talk to everybody, but yeah, basically when the con started, I didn't have anything really at the con, and I really was there, 'cause one of my big strengths, I think, is in, the reason I am living inside the woman that I live inside is many reasons. She used to host a little bit, she speaks a few languages, she used to stream for a while, but the most important thing is she-- - Her resume. - Yeah, her resume, I was like, this, this girl. But she also, you know, she's good in social situations, which I know is shocking when you hear all my stories and like me on this pod, but strangely enough, she's all right in social situations, I know, I know it's-- - Oh, I would say, I would say she is, yeah. - But that's why I came into her body, and I've been doing, like I said, every day I had some kind of business lunch, and then I had a very early dinner, which, first world problems, I wouldn't be hungry. We would go to these amazing places, and I wouldn't have to pay most of the time, because it's a business dinner. And I wasn't hungry, but the lunch, I often was big, and I'm just like, damn, I would be going to like these amazing steak. Ah, I know, it's such a first world problem. - It's the opposite for me. I think I ate like three meals the entire weekend. - And two of them with me at the restaurant, 'cause we got, basically, when we went out, I got a salad, and you got pasta. And then we basically got your, 'cause it was a very ritzy place, so the portions were kind of small. So then we got your pasta again to share. - Yep, yeah. Oh no, okay, wait, I got eight four times during the weekend. - That's crazy. I was eating good. - Dang, I should've gone to your dinner, I should've crashed, I should've haunted. - You should've haunted. Okay, so I do have a story, and I want everyone's output. This is the story that I didn't say on stream, so. Okay, I don't really cringe a lot. I know you're already cringing. (laughing) I'm a big believer, you know, we are theater kids, but of a different degree. I take my theater-y everywhere, and I like the idea of being a clown, right? I've always been a clown, and I like the idea of just-- - She is down a clown. - Perpetually, down to clown. So, I think you should say the story from your POV, and then ended where you ended, and then I will kick in. - Oh yeah, so we are at our little table. First of all, the place that we went to was by Matara's recommendation, because she was just like, we are going to go to a place where not an anime, so we'll be in sight. You will not see a single acrylic keychain, you will see not an anime shirt, nothing. And it was exactly, I walked in, and I was like, oh my God, it's-- - It was next to an aero on, which is a grocery store where you get like $30 bottles of water. - Yeah, I learned that, I learned that. I was like, I was like, what? But we didn't get to go. Dang it, we should have gone. I kind of want to see the, what does it smell like in there? - In where? - Aero on. - We should go next time and take photos, and it's always, I'm sure you guys have seen it, people go viral, because they just post, like, oh, I can't believe this water's $30, and then it's just all the tweets go viral, and everyone just does the same tweet every time. - Uh-huh, I think I've heard of it, but I never, when you were like, we're next to an aero on, I was like, huh, but, so yeah, it was full of hot LA girlies. I was shaking in my booties, because they were so like, we're hot LA girlies. It was such like, it was the most LA place I think I've ever will experience ever in my afterlife. - We're the only, you came in, I think, with a Grand Archive bag, right? Blue Grand Archive, Grand Blue Archive. (laughing) - Grand Blue Archive, I'm trying my best. I'm holding on for a hero 'til the end of the night. - Um, yes, I came in with my Blue Archive bag and my Jastbag. (laughing) - Not the Jastbag! (laughing) - It's fine, it only had my Steinsgate, LP in it, it's fine. Yeah, I did get the Steinsgate vinyl, I was so excited. But yeah, so it's, I have my anime bags and I'm, luckily I was not in my anime dress, but you know, that's fine. - You looked very cute though, you looked very sweet. - Thank you. (laughing) - And so, next to us, is like an older couple, like some old guy and his side piece, no, I'm just kidding. They looked like a lovely couple, we kind of didn't pay them any more. - Mm, fine. - That has to be about maybe 55, 60, like older, but you know. - Yeah, older, but you know, they're just enjoying their brunch, their LA expensive brunch. - They were. And as they were leaving, the guy startles you somehow. What did he do? - I'll tell you in a bit, keep going 'til you're into the story so we can see where we're at. So, he startles you and you're just like, oh, and he is just like, oh, sorry. And then he says something to you. He's just like, I'm not dangerous. - Yeah. - And you look at him and you're just like, (laughing) but I am. (laughing) - Okay, let me backtrack this. - You could get to do it, you could get to do it. - He, he, he, he. Accidentally, he, he, he. So the lady had left, right, that he was with and then he was there for a little bit by himself. And then after when he got up, he accidentally pushed the umbrella that was standing to cover from the sun, which startled me because for anybody that doesn't know, I get startled incredibly easily. I really do. - Yeah. - And as I get startled, I look at him, he kind of put his arms up. He kind of was like, oh, sorry, sorry. And I said, oh, don't worry, it's just, I, you know, the sound startled me. - She's a jumpy bug. - I am a jumpy bug. And then, as he was still on my right, 'cause he was getting up from my right, I was in front of me and he gets up and he goes, "Oh, don't worry." Or he said, "Don't worry, I'm not dangerous." But he said it very like nonchalant, old man. - Nonchalant at all. - And then he walks behind me to get out, right, behind my chair. And then he, I think I just kind of turn around at him and I go, "Oh, don't worry about it." Or, or something. And then I go, "Oh, but I am." And then he looks. - You say the inflection wrong every time. - Oh, what did I say? - You said, "But I am different." - Okay, and I said, "Oh, but I am." And then he looks back at me and he goes, "I bet you are." And then we laugh and he leaves. You know, he was saying this as he was leaving. But then you have to, okay, imagine my face. So I, this happens with the man and I'm, I'm giddy. I'm like, "Oh, that is so cute." Like, what a sweet interaction. This is so sweet. I turned back to look at men. - To me. - Your whole body was like a shrimp. You were cringing so hard. You were, your full body was like convulsed in like a little, you just, and your face, you were so. - It's like watching my grandma flirt. - But, be honest with me, everybody. Be honest with me. Do you think it's cringe? Or you didn't, like, 'cause to me, it's not cringe. We had a moment, I thought it was funny. I feel like that's gonna make, that probably made us day. - Right, of course. - And it made my day. I thought it was awesome. - You know what's worse about this? Is if it were like me and Snake, I would fold immediately. (both laughing) I would be like, "Yeah, that was awesome." (both laughing) - I just, you know, I thought it was a funny comment to make. But, okay, I understand why people think I'm flirty now. Because to me, saying that to him, like clearly in my head, I'm not flirting. I obviously saw him with a lady for a long time. I'm not interested. I just thought that it was a really funny way to kind of make him feel not bad about the situation, right? For startling us. And also, I don't know. I feel like nobody really talks to older people ever. (both laughing) It's true. They never, so it's kind of nice to just be like, "Hey, you know, you're..." - It's such a strange thing to say. - No, I know this because like, I know that a lot of older people often talk about how they're very lonely. Nobody really notices them. Everybody pays attention to young people and everything. So, I just, you know. But I can understand now why people think I'm flirty. - You'll send me something and be like, "Am I flirting?" And I'm like, "Yes." (both laughing) You'll send me a message and be like, "Is this flirty?" And I'm like, "Yes." (both laughing) She's like, "I wasn't flirting." (both laughing) I think the thing is, I talk to women very much in the same way as well. And I definitely think I flirt with women more than I flirt with men. - You just love love. - But yeah, you know, to me, it was such a more of a funny comment, right? Where he's like, "Oh, I'm not dangerous." And then I look back at him, "Oh, but I am." - But I am. - And he goes, "I bet you are." Like, that's just such a funny interaction. (both laughing) - Like, I heard it in your voice. You're cringing again. (both laughing) - My grandma is flirting. Oh, my God. - No, it's kind of bad where sometimes I would be, like, let's say, I DM somebody about something and then they gave me a response and I'm like, "What happened there?" I wasn't being flirty. And then I showed it to you once or twice and you're like, "Battara." (both laughing) If I was a man, I'd be a little shy right now. - Ooh, la la. - Yeah, but I do the same thing. How many times, like, idea, mint, and then I just use us kissing emoji all the time. - Oh, all the time. - Is that flirty? - All the time. I sure hope not. (both laughing) If so, I am rejecting these and I am putting down the hammer. I am rejecting these advances at once. (both laughing) - I think just my sense of humor, I think the reason is because number one, I think my voice being a little deeper, it makes everything more sensual. Instantly, right? Like, for example, I imagine if I was like, if he said, "I'm not dangerous," and I went, "Oh, but I'm dangerous!" What are you trying to say, huh? - No. (both laughing) - Oh, but I am. Oh, but I am. I'm really dangerous. - You know, I feel like people would not take it the same way, right? - Nah, maybe. Maybe that is. - I think number one, it's my voice. And number two, I kind of hold the joke. Like, I love this kind of, this is why people take me off, off, people don't understand my humor sometimes. I have this like, you know, older people sense of humor where I just kind of let the joke simmer and I let, I like to kind of, you know, the little, ooh, what? That, I like that. - Oh. (laughs) - I like the kind of, oh, wait, what? - Oh, I like that. Yeah, no, I get it. I think it shows your-- - Show death path, I guess. - It kind of shows your experience with like, having worked in, 'cause you said you've worked at like bars and restaurants and stuff. Like, it feels very like a waitress, like, kind of style of humor. I don't know, because like, you know, you have to be kind of like that with patrons sometimes. You gotta get their tips and stuff. And then you, like, that's how old people like to be talked to and stuff. - And they love it. - So, I get it, I get it. - I think, I think I was made for the old people. I think the youth thinks I'm weird and cringy and strange, but the old people, they're like, they get me. - Oh my God, it's one of those, like, I was born to a point two. - Indeed. (laughing) - In the wrong era. - In the wrong era. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Actually, in Japan, so one of the last days when I actually felt good and I was testing negative, I went to a cafe with Wunigiri. But then after that, I met up with an old friend and we went to Anizakaya. And as we were leaving, so just so we're clear, everybody's drunk, we're at Anizakaya, we're leaving, it's pretty late. And there was these three men, or as I'm trying to get into the Aizakaya to go to the restroom, these three men at the front, all kind of handing cash to each other. But they were kind of arguing and who's paying and they all had just bills. And one guy was taking the bill from the other guy, another one, and basically, all, basically what was happening is one guy had a bill. And it wasn't, it was like 1,000 yen, you know, it was something crazy, which is maybe $7, $8. And he was trying to hand it to one of the guys. And the other guy was just doing an X with his fingers, he was not taking the money. So as I was trying to get in, I was like, "Oh, okay, Nick." And I just opened my arm, both my hands, kind of like when you're, you know, please, so I had like some words. And I would, "Oh, okay, Nick, Arigato." (laughing) - They almost had reactions. - And they, and then I'm like, "Ah, ah, joke, joke." And then I went inside to the bathroom, right? And they left. And then I talked to my friend. And my friend was like, 'cause my friend, they're mixed. So they were like, "You know what? "That's my dad's sense of humor." My friend was like, "This is very foreign or humor." And my friend's like, "Don't worry. "I think they loved it." - Probably, they probably, I mean, that also doesn't help, or it doesn't hurt that they were drunk in Europe. - They were drunk in Inizakaya trying to, you know, and I did it very quickly, and then I didn't stay. I just did it, then I said, "I'm joking." And then I kind of, 'cause they were blocking the bathroom. They were blocking me getting in, right? So after they saw me going into pee, you know, yeah. - It's so funny. You didn't tell me that. - No. - That is so funny. (laughing) - I was like, "This is the power of an extrovert." - This is the power of an extrovert. This is, I think also, you have to be an extrovert to be able to, like, because me and I will avoid people like the, I mean, I would just-- - Yeah, yeah, you're a ghost. - I'm unbugging around. But you would just be like, "I'm bugging it up in Earth now." - Yeah, I'm bugging it up, it's me, yeah. (laughing) - She's gonna bug up every, no, bug up, sorry, almost. - I can bug you anytime, something like that. - Yeah. - Yeah, I just, again, I think a big problem that the reason some people think it's cringe is that I think when you're younger, you're so kind of concerned about how people think about you or what they think about you, that you think, "Oh my God, did I do this social interaction, right?" But in my case, I'm like, "That was funny." I made them laugh, that matters. And I'm really going at it from like, I made them laugh. It's a funny moment, it's a giggle. And I genuinely, I feel like I've, I don't know, I feel that maybe because I've had so many cringe moments in my life that I just, I don't know, I don't get embarrassed that easily anymore. - I don't think I ever grew out of that phase. - I know, try to remember, did I do anything embarrassing for you in Japan? - I can't remember anything. I think we didn't go out enough. - Yeah, 'cause of, we were sick. But even before, right? Like, I don't know, even in Japan when, you know, you've told me a few times that I would say, we do, we do, after we are done recording. - Yeah, after we're done recording, you have plenty of time to embarrass me once again. - I do have another one, very, very quickly. This one, I did genuinely like talk to the, I talked to the Uber driver, basically. I did talk to him a little long, but in my defense, I was in the front seat of the Uber. - Yes. - When you're in the front seat of the Uber and you don't talk to the driver, it's a little weird. - Right. - So I walked, I came into this Uber with you guys, 'cause we were going back to the con. And I, basically the Uber driver was like, a little bit, you know, he looked very metal. He looked very rocket. He had a mullet that was dyed green. He had tattoos, but he was listening to something. Okay, I'm actually gonna link you guys, if you guys wanna look up the groups, you get the vibe. - Oh, you actually like, she was that good or not? - I meant it when I said I like this. So it's called, so the word guitar, but there's a, there's a period after guy. So it's like guy tar. And one of the songs was called Just Like Honey. So when he got into, when we get into the car, he, you know, this like really kind of cool looking man, you know, don't, I don't, you know. - Yeah, he had like his head shades, a tiny little ponytail, and like he's got glasses. - He was cool, he was cool. - Yeah, he looked cool. - And he's listening to this like really kind of slow, emotive song. And I commented on it and I said, oh, this is cool. I'm like, you're listening to what I like to call sad, hot girl music. And I'm like, you know, I feel that all the sad, hot girls, when you think about like a sad, hot girl, she listens to this kind of music. And then he's like, yeah. And I'm like. - And then I went, are you feeling like a sad, hot girl today? - But guy was not feeling anything. - He goes, no, he said, a little. And then I said, do you want to talk about it? And mint? Okay, I do agree. I think me going, do you want to talk about? But the thing is, if it was just the two of us in the Uber, I mean it, do you want to talk about it? Let me in on your demons and secrets. But because I wasn't an Uber with three other people, I agree, maybe I should not have been like, do you want to talk about it? And then God bless, 'cause you were like, Matera, stop bothering him. - I was like, leave the people alone, Matera. I forgot to tell you. - Yes. - So we did go to lunch with some other people. And so we were like, like Matera just said, we were Ubering back and she was in the front seat. - Oh, you are lying. - Yes, yes, yes. Mm-hmm. - Wait, what? - No, right. I thought you went to lunch another time without me. - No, no, no. But, and then it was the three of us in the back. And when you got out, we were just like, oh, since it's the three of us crammed in the back, I will get out and I will go to the front seat. And so I open up the door to leave, and this guy just zooms off with the door wide open. (laughing) I'm like, good, thank God I had my seat fell out because I would have fallen out of the door. I just shut the door and he doesn't even acknowledge it. (laughing) I was like, okay. We're all just like, oh, okay, I guess we'll just stay like this until we get back. (laughing) It was so weird, the guy, yeah, it was so funny. Because we were just like, oh, because we out loud said like, oh, okay, great. Now that Matera's gone, I'll move to the front seat so that we're not crammed in the, all three of us in the back. And he just was like, no. - I think he just wanted you guys out of the car. - I truly think so. I truly think he would. - But again, just so we're clear, I don't think it's anything I did. I think he's just like that. - No, no, I think so. - And this is the biggest thing that you kind of start learning as you get older is sometimes some people just are having a day or they're just not super friendly. It doesn't mean you're wrong or you're bad or you're weird. - So these are just assholes. - No, they're just rude people. (laughing) - I feel like you kind of learned that 'cause I feel like when you're younger, you have this idea that as long as I'm just nicer, as long as I'm just better, as long as I'm kinder, and don't get me wrong. Yes, you should be kind, you should be nice, you should try hard. But at some point, stop trying. If, you know, you should still be cordial and polite, but maybe stop trying. (laughing) - Oh my God. - Yes. - That Uber, yeah, our Uber guy was, he was a little, you know, he was having a sad girl day. - He was having a sad, hot girl day. - Yeah. - Like that. As a sad, hot girl, sometimes, as a hot girl, sometimes I have sad, fuck. - Wait. - I ruined that joke. (laughing) - Let's just continue on. - Okay. With that, I think I was such a little social butterfly, this anime expo, I did such a good job. And again, you know, I don't wanna brag about myself like I always do, but even at one point, my manager told me because it was like a big mixer and I said hi to everybody, that I ended up saying hi, my manager told me, you know how many people came up to me to let me know, oh, you said hi to them and they were so charmed and they thought that it was so nice, 'cause, you know, as a streamer, I'm sure everybody can imagine, usually streamers kind of stay in their own little group and do their own little stuff, not me. Not at the Vishoujo mixer. (laughing) I wanted to make sure that everybody knew that I was there to socialize and it does mean that I was a little bit tired, but it's a good tired. It was a fulfilling tired. I basically talked to every single manager and staff that we had. At one point, we had a little Korean barbecue with Vishoujo staff and I made sure, so there was one table that kind of ended up being all the guys and the girls, we ended up being at another table and I even told, I was like, hey, I see you guys so often at cons. I'm gonna be with the girls that I don't see very often. I'm gonna be with the managers that I don't talk to very often and kind of socialize. And I always try to make a point during conventions where, for example, there was a lot of streamers that I was having a dinner with. Because of that, if I saw them at parties sometimes, I would kind of prioritize talking to people that I wouldn't see very often. Because, hey, like, if we're going to lunch tomorrow, I don't need to spend the night talking with you, right? - Right. - So, obviously, I still have my group. I still spend a lot of my time with Limes and Bricky and it ended up being kraken too. But I still kind of tried my best to socialize with others and yeah, but I'm really, really proud. And I think it was a really, really good convention. I got a lot of really positive feedback from a lot of people. So, you know, I'm happy. - Yeah, at least as long as it's fulfilling. I think I feel similarly where I feel like, so basically with Anime Expo in particular, I'd never look at the schedules and stuff because I'm like, there were so many, like, for me, a fulfilling convention is getting the guests, like, autographs that I want to see and seeing guests that I want to see. But I couldn't really do that for this convention because I was just like, I'm going to be going to my own dinners and my own meetings and my own, you know, I had the concert. So I was just like, I'm just going to not have anything. I made a list of like a few things, which was like, get the Steinskate vinyl. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Go to the Blue Archive booth and get the stuff at the Blue Archive booth that I wanted. And I did both of those and I was just like, you know what, this is good. - I think most conventions, I am the same where I go for the convention. I go to get prints, I go to see panels, I go to the convention, but at Anime Expo, I was not there for the convention. I was there for the people in the schmoozing. - Yeah, yeah, so it was good. I was able to like catch up with some people that I haven't seen in a while and talk with like, it was hard though, like-- - In what way? - It's hard, you know, since I wasn't at the mixers and stuff, it was hard going up to a booth and being like, hi, I am this ghost. I'm a VTuber, you know, it's like, it was very, especially if there were people around the booth and like a lot of people just kind of hanging out with this and that, so it was, it was difficult, I'll be honest, like the networking, I guess, side of it for me at least, but that's just, I think something, well, first of all, I wasn't, my intention wasn't even going for Anime Expo, like I went for the concert, you know, so I was like, this was just a side thing, this is just an extra thing, no worries, but you know, it was a learning experience for me for sure. - Mm, mm, mm. I think when it comes to this kind of stuff, this is one of the reasons that I organized a lunch every day where in my lunch is usually when I caught up with kind of my core group of friends or I did business because that's when you really get to talk to people and meet people, when I was a much smaller streamer, I remember people used to say, a lot of the connections that you make, if you wanna meet people and make connections at cons, it's usually, you meet more people at the business lunch than you do at the business party, right? You could still meet people at parties, but at parties, everybody is tired. - But you have to know the people to get to the lunch. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess for me, yeah. So it was, you know, it was just my experience as an indie and trying to put myself out there as an indie was so, it was tricky, and I mean, it doesn't help that I didn't go to the both mixer. - Yeah, and you had an invitation where, yeah, it's, you know, I think, how do I say this without it being taken out of context? It's good that you recognize that, right? It's good that you're not being like, oh, it's how do I get to the lunch and the dinner, but it's like, you did, you also had an invitation to the mixers, you also had those. So I think when it comes to meeting people at cons and things like that, one of my best advice is usually kind of do it slowly. So something that would happen with my, 'cause the woman I live inside used to be a much smaller streamer. So what would happen is let's say she'd be at the Twitch partner booth and it would be somebody that she knew of, she'd come up to them, hey, love the stuff that you do, you know, blah, blah, blah. And then they're at a party. And if they see each other, she would maybe just kind of nod or be like, oh, what drink are you drinking? Cool, yeah, I'm having a vodka. Like when you're at the bar together, I'm having a vodka soda, a vodka soda. And then eventually when you're at a third party together, that person's gonna be like, okay, who are you? I see you everywhere, what's your deal? But I always kind of, it depends on the vibes, but I definitely feel like when I was a much smaller streamer, I let people come to me, but now that I'm the bigger streamer, I come to people because I feel like it's up to me to break the ice more. It's weird. See, I feel like it would have been the opposite feeling, like, you know? - Really? - Yeah, I mean, it's just kind of like, before when you're smaller, you're going up to people trying to get your name out there and introduce yourself, but as a bigger streamer, people would come up to you doing the same being like, oh. - Well, I guess because I'm a V-Tuber, not everybody knows that it's me, and sometimes it's V-Tubing, there's, which by the way, people are so respectful. Nobody stopped me on the street or anything. And I've talked about it before that, you know, my flesh woman is a little confused woman, so thank you for not kind of coming up to her on the street if you did maybe even recognize her. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - So thank you so much for that. - No. - I think for me is because I'm an extrovert, so I do feel like, especially for the Vishoujo mixer, right? If we're the Vishoujo mixer, and I will be going up to people and saying, hello, I'm a Tara, nice to meet you. And if they, you know, didn't know, I'd be like, or they'd say, I'd say I'd work with Vishoujo, right? But I do like doing that, and I feel, I put people at ease when I do that, and then they don't have to worry, 'cause I'll introduce myself first. - Yeah, I think, as an extrovert, no, sorry, as an introvert, I can definitely say that I would appreciate if someone came up to me first. And I mean, first of all, I, okay, my mind would be thinking of bajillion things, but first I'd be like, oh God, I have to interact. Oh God, I have to socialize. And then if you're just like talking, and you know, you're very good at holding a conversation and continuing a conversation. - Thank you. - So, you know, unlike me. And so, (laughs) - Hey, my trick is, how are you enjoying anime expo? That's it, you just start with that. - Oh, yeah, I mean, that's what I do at every meet and greet. I'm just like, how are you enjoying the con? If they don't know, I want to say, so. - It's great, it works, and people love it, and it's a genuine thing that I want to talk about. Like, are you having a good school? - We just gave away our secret, we just gave it away. - I know, I know, I'm so sorry. - But we're just like, if we're like, how are you enjoying the con, are you gonna be like, oh, really? That's your icebreaker? You saw me, you talked about that on the podcast. (laughs) - Yup, yup, yup, yup, yup. - Uh-huh. - We're stealing your secrets. - You're stealing all the secrets, you're stealing all of them. But yeah, I thank you, that's one thing that, you know, I feel, hmm, I feel me making people comfortable is definitely a point of pride for me. So, I went out of my way at the parties and the mixers and the everything to make people comfortable, and it brings me joy, I like it. It did mean I was a little bit more tired, but it was a good tired. And I do think like, I had a pretty good core group that I could be quiet with, like for example, if Limes and I were Ubering back, we're at a good place in our friendship where I can just say, girl, I'm tired, can we talk about that later? You know, and it, she gets it because we are, we have a solid, solid friendship. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - And I would even tell people sometimes at the end of the night, where I would come into a conversation circle and I would just say, I would introduce myself and then I'd say, hey, by the way, I'm just resting so I don't have to talk to people. Is it cool if I just, and then, and they're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, come in, come in, come in. Like, and then they just would continue yapping and I would just listen with my little white claw. - Oh my God, it was like at lunch when you like disassociated and you were just like, I'm listening to you, I'm just disassociating. (laughing) - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Like you like, put your head down. (laughing) - But that's because I'm comfortable with you. And I kind of call it, so obviously I know people don't judge me if I'm a little bit more tired, but when you're meeting new people, you always want to be at your best behavior. - Right. - So it is really relaxing to sometimes, to go out with people I'm very close with, like you, where I could just be quiet and you can be quiet and there's not gonna be that idea of, our lunch is awkward, we just met, our lunch is awkward because we're quiet. No, if you and I, if we're quiet, you're thinking, thank freaking God. - I have a break, oh my God. When I was walking around with my friend, like usually I go around the conventions and stuff, like by myself, I like to kind of take my time going through like different areas and I actually, I mean, I don't know, being by yourself is so liberating 'cause even like at a theme park, you could do whatever you want, you can just, you're like, I want to go to this ride, you know what, I'm gonna ride this ride again. I don't have to answer to anybody. We could go to the theme park now. - Yeah. - Oh my God, oh my God. Sorry, it's just we didn't do anything from Japan last time. I know, work first, work first, but. - Food to queue, food to queue. - Okay, okay, okay, I gotta relax. - I was like, I was like going around the convention, I was like, with my friend and she would like talk and show me things and I was just like, I'm so exhausted and she went to the bathroom at one point and I was like, now's my chance. (laughing) But to be fair, I was at like a booth and she was like, I'm gonna go to the bathroom and I thought I was gonna be at the booth a little bit longer but I wasn't and 'cause they only accepted cash. I was like, what, no. - This is why I'm a big believer in just letting people know, right? If somebody comes to talk to me and I'll be like, hey, just so you know, I'm super low energy, I'm really happy to meet you, but I'm just so tired, please. And sometimes I'd meet people again, okay, so this is another problem. If I'm wearing heels, the top of someone's head looks kind of different and then if I'm not wearing heels or if I'm tired or if I meet them at 10 p.m. and they're not wearing makeup or 3 a.m. and they're wearing makeup. So sometimes I would accidentally reintroduce myself to people and they would go, oh, we met Friday and I would say I'm so sorry. I was wearing heels and I was drunk. - You can see the top of people's heads. - All the time, even more heels. I see every, do you know how short Vtubers are? I saw everyone's top of head. - I just realized I don't think I never thought of-- - Do I'm going to tell you if you have bald spots? - Oh, no. - Yes. - I can look for legs, like the little monkeys. - Oh my God, wait, your claws would probably feel so good. Like, combing through my hair. - No, I very much... I can see the top of most people's heads. This is, okay, so Oscar, he was the one cosplaying Buffnia, Buffhenia. - Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - And he is kind of, he's, let me show you a booth, babe. He works for Senpai Squad. But the last day on Monday, we were all kind of disassociating at a hotel lobby and eating food and we were talking about, you know, me being tall and because sometimes I would approach conversations with, you know, a really nice dress and my heels, people would say, Batar, I'm so sorry. I, like, I, you're, and I'd say, it's fine. You can peek at my breasts, like I get it, right? - Breastfully, what is that quote? - Breasting boobly. - Yeah, a breasting boobly. - I would say, listen, I get it, I get it, like they're, they're there, I get it, don't worry about it. And Oscar said, and Oscar said, thank God, he made me short because Bataras boobs are up there. - Oh my God, it was so funny. - At least he's taking the short king very seriously. - But no, Grace, basically any streamer I already know 'cause we got back and I keep asking, you know, all the streamers are talking about meeting me and stuff. And I ask, I ask friends, I'm like, oh, so what did they say? The only thing they said was, I smell like coconuts because I was using a Tom Ford perfume that smells coconutty and my breasts and some people were like, I could not hug Matara from the front. I only hugged her from the side. - Oh my God, it was that. - That is so funny though, remember? - You said that? (laughing) - When, okay, earlier, like, it was the, I think it was the V Show Joe mixer night. And you were just like, you sent me a picture of your dress. - Oh, it was another night, yes, yes, yes, uh-huh. - You still didn't tweet that. - Oh, sorry, I forgot. But I'm explaining it now, I'll explain it now and then I'll tweet it. - Yeah. - But she sent me a picture of her dress and she was, oh yeah, it was, it was Saturday night. It was, and you were like, you were at a different mixer. - I was at dinner, I was at dinner with a bunch of people. - Oh, okay, okay. But we were going to be meeting up. - At the Vichibon mixer, yes, that you didn't go to. - Yes, that I didn't. - Yeah. (laughing) - Okay, I had a microwave. (laughing) - No, no, no, you are so valid, I'm just, I'm just reminding, I'm just getting people situated in the story, yeah. - Yes, sorry, sorry, everybody. If I ever said that I was going to go to a place and I didn't. - She usually won't, I always assume you won't, so don't worry. - No, I think, I had full intention. It's not that it was just like a party or anything. I just, you know, really wasn't feeling well that night. And also, I, like, I really went with the, I was really like intending on going to these so that I could network. I made my business car a bit, I paid my business car. - You did, you did. (laughing) - But, yeah, so you sent me a picture of your dress and you were just like, my breast today, whoa, you'll love it, hey, hey, hey. And then not even, not even 30 minutes later. (laughing) You say, I will change. I have too much breath. (laughing) - Okay, I will explain very quickly. I do, I do think I went a little bit overboard on some of the breast tests. And the reason is, you know, my flesh woman, before I infected her, she would like be going out, she would go to parties, she used to do some stuff with poker and things like that. So she would dress nicely, okay? And then COVID happens and nobody's dressing as anything. And now I live inside her and we work a lot. I stream all the time. So I'm just always wearing my streaming outfit, right? Which is like the beautiful dress you're seeing now. And I just wanted to buy new dresses. And it just so happened that the dresses I bought, they come with a little built in lift, a little built in push. And it doesn't help that I'm very tall compared to most people. So their face is very much in the breasts. But the dress I wore that night with you, even though I like wore covers and stuff, I did feel like it was a little, 'cause I have to remember, I'm going to a party to socialize with a lot of Vtubers and nerds and industry people. So I think it's fine. I genuinely think it's fine. The dresses that I was wearing before to go to streamer parties. Like we went to news house party, we went to cut out, okay? But definitely I think for industry mixers, I should be dressing down a bit more. - I think so. - Yeah, just so people can actually look me in the eyes when I talk to, 'cause I'm telling you, people were so shy, people were so shy and I get it. But it's just, I'm already intimidating. Let's not have my breasts intimidate people even more, right? - Yeah. - But overall, just to kind of, the breasts were bubbling, restily. - Yeah, restily. - Just to kind of finish this off, did you have a good AX? - I had an amazing AX. I had so much fine. - Good. - The concert was 100% worth the going for and it was so fulfilling and everybody was so nice and everything was so fine. And AX is in of itself a very stressful convention. - Of course. - And the only time I really got truly like feeling so bad was going through the artist's alley, 'cause it was so crowded in there. But ultimately the con, like the lines to get inside were pretty good. I mean, I didn't go to any panels because I didn't know where anything was. So, but the crowds itself were like not as bad as. - They did a really good job from what I heard, from what I talked to people about. They did a really, really good job with kind of, even the badges, you could get your badges early well. They mailed a lot of them, you could scan them. I heard really good things about how they divided everything. - Yeah, like the, I like the scanning thing. It makes things, I mean, there was still security, which kind of slowed stuff down a little bit, but I never had like a line to get in. And at one point, I even went at like early, I was like there at 9 a.m. to go to the blue archive booth. So, you know, it wasn't like the first day by any means where people are really rushing in to get like some stuff before they sell out. And there was stuff that I wanted that sold out. But for the most part, like it was pretty chill because I had no expectations and it made it, it made it so much more like worth it because I was like, you know, if I ran into something or someone and I was like, whoa, this is so awesome. Then it was, it was cool, it was great. What about you? - I had an incredible, incredible AX. Like I said, even though I didn't go to the con, I feel like I absolutely did so much smoothing and so like everything I needed to do, I did it. I, you know, my role as the extrovert, I fulfilled it and I'm so, so, so proud of myself. By the way, somebody gifted subs in my channel and I'm hearing the alert go. (laughing) - Just now. - Yeah. - Oh my god. - I hear the alert go up, it's whatever. Thank you so much, but that's so funny. I just needed to make sure that it wasn't like in the recording. - Got it. - It's so funny. - So funny. - So, what was I gonna say? I had a really great AX. I think it was amazing. I do think AX is long, but I'm happy I did it. Yeah, I just, I think it was, hold on. (laughing) Sorry, I called out the people. - Oh, are you like in the chat? - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm just. (laughing) - Hey, we're recording here. - Hey, we're recording here. - Silence in the chat. - We're recording here. - We're recording. - Yeah. (laughing) - But anyway, so I had an amazing AX. It was so incredible and I'm so, so, so happy. I am so excited for the future of the show show, of just me, of indies that I met. Just, everything is so nice and I'm so even excited for everything we're doing with the pod, which by the way, finally it's happening. Next episode is the Warhammer episode. I'm building everything for you this Sunday. My Sunday is my Warhammer day. I'm building everything for you. And then next Monday, you just gotta relax. And let me entertain you. - I will listen. I will not eat, I will just fall asleep while you tell me all about what's. - Yeah, I'm excited. And I'm also gonna be doing a solo Patreon episode this week as well. So get ready for that, get situated. And I'm excited. - Did we ever post the Patreon episode that we did? - I don't know. I got a double trap. - I don't know. - I was traveling, uh-oh. - Uh-oh, if I didn't, if you didn't do it, I didn't do it, I posted my own. - Uh-oh. - Well, you posted your Patreon episode, right? - Uh-oh, we were traveling? - Well, when I got back from AX, I posted it. - Okay, so then I can post the Patreon now. - Yeah. - And that way it'll be like, so in one week, they'll get two, right? - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah. - Perfect. - Okay, sorry. - Yeah, for this week. Yeah, we were a little behind. We're so sorry. And then we're gonna post this one. - We're really planning while we're... - Anyway, patrons, we love you. - Yay! - And everybody who listens and watches and hangs out with us, we love you. For the postcards, we are reshipping a bunch of them, so do not worry, I know it's been forever, and we are so sorry. - I have boxes and boxes and boxes in my room. - We just, it's taking longer 'cause we decided, you know what, screw it, we're putting envelopes on everything and we talked about it. Thank you for your patience. - Thank you, everybody. It's interesting how different our AX was. You know, like you went more for socializing, I went more for like convention activities and stuff, so. - And it was fun. - And let us know if you think that I am a little too cringey extrovert, or if you think that mint should cringe a little less. Do you think that-- - No, I think everybody will say that you're cringey. Everybody will just completely agree, they'll immediately say, "Yeah, cringe." Something cringey. - I think you could cringe a little less. I think sometimes you think things are embarrassing and they're just regular people having regular interactions. - Well, regular people are embarrassing. - Okay. (laughing) - All right. Well, anyway, have an amazing rest of your day. For the comments, can we, can we add the word cringe? - Cringe. - I know it might get auto-moderated, you're right. - Oh yeah, I might get auto-moded, um, stinky. - Stinky, please add the word stinky in your comments. Ask us anything about, about what is it called? Ask us anything about, oh my God, anime expo. - And I was gonna say the convention, the call, yeah. - Everything. - It's your favorite thing that you did at the convention. Your favorite moment or-- - Yeah, let us know if you did go. Or if you went to a previous anime expo, what was your favorite moment? I do think the Dodgers and Hall of Life is pretty iconic. I think it's gonna be one of those for the years to come. - Yeah, yeah, I think so too. And, hags. - Hags, have a great summer, have a great sleep, have a great summer. Bye, bye. - Thank you guys for listening and see you next week. Hags! Hags! Bye-bye! Bye-bye!
