UFC 133: Evans vs. Ortiz made chicken salad out of chicken shit, as Brock Lesnar might say.  This card full of injuries and substitutions wound up being pretty damn good.  We begin this week's show running down all the great performances, the retirements, and the unfortunate clothing choices that occured last weekend.

Then we preview this coming Sunday's free UFC card, UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle, a show full of entertaining fighters, and what may possibly be the last stand for Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy.  Check out our website at http://www.thehammermma.com or Subscribe via Itunes.

[music] Hello and welcome to the Hammer! It is Wednesday, August 10th, and I am your host Dave, during this always more of my co-hosts. Greg, how's it going guys? And Steve, hey. You can download all of our programming and some special stuff as well. So we're going to talk a little bit about UFC 133 and then the upcoming UFC live. We also have, of course, news is always from Steve. But let's start with Rashad versus Tito. Now this card was considered cursed because almost every fight was different, changed at the last minute. Guys pulling out. It's not happening, and on paper it seemed like it was, it wasn't going to be a very good card. But CR enthusiast, I'm recapping it last week. But it turned out actually pretty good. I really enjoyed that. The thing is a lot of times when the cards are like a little bit under hyped, you guys go out looking to do some business, you know, to make some big a name for themselves. If you look at Rashad versus Tito, my only concern here was I figured that Tito given the fact that it's such a close fight beforehand would be maybe a bit too big for another wrestler. The first takedown, Rashad got stuffed, and he was like, "Ah, well I'm not going to be able to get my usual stuff." So said I'm just going to bodily pick this man up over my head to slam him to the ground. That surprised me. Now Rashad taking Tito down didn't really surprise me. I mean he took down Rampage, you know, he can take down bigger guys. That slam was crazy. Yeah, it was. I did not see that coming. So I mean Rashad was beating him in a lot of different facets before that. Oh, he was out. He was striking him. But like this slam was an impressive one to watch. Oh yeah, absolutely. From the end of the third round, from the end of the first round, Rashad just bullied up and punched him out on the ground. Tito was looking hurt and abused as he went into the second round. Rashad immediately got him down again. He just started to wail on him, wail on him, wail on him. Finally Tito tried to wall walk. Rashad jumped up and slammed a knee to his body that looked like it shattered his ribs. I love seeing KO's from body shots. I absolutely love it. Like when Kongo did it to Buantello, I thought that was amazing. I love it when guys just get struck to the body and then they just collapse. He just collapsed, rolled over. Rashad jumped on him and hit him. What you forgot though is that Tito got in a pretty tight looking guillotine earlier in that round. Yeah. And that's what he finished Bader with. I was thinking, this would be crazy if he finishes another guy with this, but Rashad just too good. That's the difference between Rashad Evans and Ryan Bader. Rashad Evans gets in the guillotine. He doesn't panic. He doesn't tap. He works his head. He works his body. He gets himself out. It's also a difference between slapping on a guillotine in the first minute of a first round and slapping on a guillotine after you're not as fresh. Yeah. I think that's five of which were on your back and being punched. Tito was very, very, very tired. It looked like going into the second round and I think had he been a little fresher and he'd gotten that in in the first round, it would have been a different story. Now I know this sounds like Tito got his butt kicked and he did, but he put up a pretty decent bite. He was hanging in there. He wasn't winning at any point. He was hanging in there and I think for a guy who took the fight at the last minute he looked pretty good. Given how good Rashad is, Rashad looked way better. You know, Tito certainly was out of his depth, but with that being said, Tito didn't shame himself and he didn't come up with any excuses or wacky Tito nonsense afterwards. He was like, look, he's the better man. I did my best. I'm sore for my fans and I did my best. I took the fight on a short notice and I mean, that's what, that's the truth. I have no animosity at all towards Tito for this. He went out and fought like a gentleman. He lost the fight, but I respect him. He put up a good fight against the top guy. He didn't say he got a crack skull. Yeah. Yeah. So in any case. I like new Tito. Rashad phenomenal. I mean, I thought it would be a tight, a closer fight. It wasn't. He blew Tito out. Have any of you guys seen Rashad look better than you did then? No. Not since, not since you KO'd a forest. Okay. Right. See, the thing is, when, when I first saw Rashad when he was winning the ultimate fighter in his first fight's afterwards, he was such a wild swinger. He just kind of went and throw whatever punches he could and it was madness and that's the Rashad that T.O. beat. Then when he went into Jackson's camp he became this very grinding, grinding wrestler and it just broke my heart because I used to find his fights exciting and then he just became the most terribly, terribly lame prey in wall and stall fights I've ever seen. This new Rashad is kind of like a combination of both. Yeah. He's, he's using his wrestling much, much better than ever he did when he started, but he's also posturing him up and hitting guys. He's using it to set up finishes, which is what you're supposed to be using. You're wrestling and then they for that's what bones does. You use your wrestling in order to get a dominant position so that you can destroy a guy on the ground. But you've, you've already shot speed in his striking in that he moved well. This is good. I'm not saying, I'm not saying he can beat bones, but this is the best I've seen him last minute. It'll be a fight. The, the guys, the guys that can beat bones are few and far between Rashad, Rampage, Liodo, those are the guys that are on that list. You know, we showed him when he's healthy, but when, when is that going to happen again? You know, so like there's only a list of guys that are, even have the potential to do it and maybe junior just onto us. If he ever decides to cut down the light, anyway, but, but that's like, it's up. But, you know, like this is, this is a good, this is a good sign for Rashad. All the, all the positive indicators in the world here. This really was a wrestler's card where wrestlers who knew how to finish finished. Yes. Absolutely. Back forward to the next one, V, Middle Way bout, Vider, Belfort, taken on Yoshi hero, Akiyama. Belfort came out fast, as was expected. Akiyama got clipped hard, dropped, scrambled for position, wasn't enough. Vider just kept punching him, punching him, punching him, and finally, your Akiyama just face planted and was out. There was one point where you thought Akiyama was going to recover and his chin was going to be hard enough to stick around and recover from the, the severe beating that Belfort was giving him. But Belfort was just too much. I mean, this is, this is the, the Vider Belfort that Buzz sawed through Vondelay. So a little while back. Well, this is, this is the Vider Belfort that pummeled tank Abbott, he of the legendary chin and also legendary chinny body that, you know, like, if you can punch out tank Abbott as severely as, as he was punching out tank Abbott and you're taking on 175 pound guy, you're going to be able to punch him out. Yeah. You know, like, realistically Vider can punch out pretty much anyone in Middle Way. And the only question is, are, can you stop him from punching you out by wrestling him to the ground? Or can you punch him out faster than he punches you out? That's what Anderson still do, or kick him out. Yeah. Those are your options. You beat him in striking. If he hits you, if he hits you, you're in trouble. You're in a lot of trouble and he hit Akiyama many times. And Akiyama, he was in just no position. There's nothing he could, this fight couldn't have gone any other way than this. Yeah. I, I, I love Akiyama. I love watching him fight. They get excited when he comes out. Yeah, so do I. Yeah. I mean, he had, he, there's no way he was ever going to have anything for Vider. It's a bad style match up. And he's, he's, he had that, he has to stop fighting these top, top, top guys are cut down to Walter Wade because he's going to get annihilated. Here's the thing with Akiyama. He's, he's, they're going to cut him soon. This is three in a row. It's four in a row. This is three in a row. Is it three? I thought it was four. Uh, I, I actually think the belcher beat him, but that's not official for the belcher. Yeah. The belcher. See, he belchers. Like my problem with Akiyama is he's basically lost upwards. You know, he, he, he, he lost to Liebyn and he got Bizping. He lost a top 20 guy in Liebyn and got a top 10 guy in Bizping, lost to Bizping and got a top five guy in being Vider. Yep. You know, I think if now that he's lost this fight, they're going to give them, they're going to give him, they're going to give him on just a silver next. Well, they might, they, if O'Kami loses to silver, they might give him O'Kami for a Japan card. Probably. But you know, they definitely are going to, I think they're going to keep Akiyama around because they do want him for that Japan card. He draws. He is a big draw. He's entertaining guy. But you can't keep putting him against top 10 guys, he hasn't proved that he can hang with top 10 guys. Yeah, he can't hang with them. He just can't. Yeah. There, there's no way of sugar coating it. He cannot hang with the top 10 and even the top 15 in that division, it's just, it's just not happening. And the realistic truth is he's also extremely small for middleweight. I think he should either cut down the welterweight and start taking on some welterweight guys. Or if you desperately desperately want to keep him middleweight and potentially risk losing the guy when he loses the next match. Even to Japan, put him with Wanda like Silva, if you're going to go into Japan, there's no other fight you want. That's a good match. Akiyama versus Wanda light. Yeah. You know, that's the only way to play. These are these town match. For sure. I like that match. They should book it. I know Joe Silva is listening to you. Meanwhile, Belfort, he called out Anderson Silva for this and said, you know, if you hadn't kicked me in the face, I would have knocked you out. Garbage screw it. I am not. I do not like that. He got beat by Anderson Silva. Nice try. Nice try. You are knocking the next title shot. I can think of three or four guys ahead of you in that division. No. Belfort, go knock out two more guys and we'll talk. He definitely needs to get some more wins before he goes back Anderson Silva. But I like the fact that he's fired up and he's first middleweight win ever. Pretty much. Because the fight that got him Anderson Silva was Rich Franklin at 205. Yeah. That's right. Why not catch away? Catch away. So this is actually his first middleweight win. Yeah. So he's nowhere near Anderson Silva. If he goes out and knocks out leaving and then goes out and knocks out Munos or something, fine, cool, awesome. Yeah. But at the bare minimum, there are two guys in front of them. The Stan, Son and winner and the winner of the ultimate fighter season. Absolutely. This being in mayhem. You know, if mayhem wins, I don't think it's time to talk about mayhem versus Silva. I do think mayhem versus Belfort would perfectly fine. Yeah. And I do think that the loser of Son and versus Stan would be a perfectly fine guy to put it with Vadar. Well, you don't want to give him a loser after he's won. Well, but you can definitely put him with like most of the top 10 guys. Absolutely. That's a pretty good match. Yeah. He's not that far to contention. No. Oh, yeah. He's definitely in there. But oh, it was a flu guy. I should have Silva next. Now move on. Yeah. Brian Eversal versus Dennis Hallman. Brian Eversal came out looking, looking backy as always with a big arrow shaved into his chest hair. The arrow. The arrow he, he just called. So he got into the ring. Dennis Hallman came out looking very, very serious. And then he. Wearing the longest tights of everything. You know, and then as he was, you know, getting ready to get into his match, he pulled off his hoodie. And unfortunately he happened to be wearing like the Shawnee, the Shawnee Davis or whatever. Who's that guy? Oh, the Shawnee Carter, the, uh, the little, um, uh, uh, uh, essentially, essentially a thong. Yeah. He was, he was affectionate. He was essentially wearing women's panties. And then it comes down. He was wearing a thong. And just to point out during that part, during that fight where the feed went out, that's because, um, he had a malfunction. Yeah. Yeah. I wasn't sure enough, but it was. Well, that's, that's what we thought it was. It was like, all right, you know, the camera probably just wanted to catch what's going on there. Yeah. Something like escaping. So he bought, he bought balls out and it was, it was kind of tough to watch. Yeah. Honestly, I don't even know what happened. This was laughing too hard. The entire fight I was, I was doubled over laughing at this. Well, Hallman charged out determined to get ever saws back. He did. He managed to get the takedown. Ever saws a very talented wrestler himself. So he managed to wrestle back to top position and then ever saw who is no joke postured up and proceeded to just absolutely crush home and with punches, hammerfits and elbows, finally getting the knockout, the TKL knockout at four minutes and 20 seconds into round one. Thankfully not holding that rear naked choke for too much longer. Yeah. There's nothing to be said about that. Yeah. The, the, the bonuses for the fights were fight of the night, Rashad Evans versus TRTs, knock her the night, obviously veered her a bell for it. And because there was no submission, uh, David decided to award a special bonus of $70,000 to Brian Ebersall called the getting those horrifying shorts off TV as soon as possible award. Brian Ebersall is a happy man, essentially a free $70,000 because he shouldn't have gotten a bonus for the free $70,000 in big time in Dana's good books. That's right. Yeah. Which is never a bad thing. And he was in Dana's bad books now. Holman. Dennis Holman, uh, he, Dennis Holman says that he lost a bat. Dana is like there, the USC, they're not happy with us at all for something for something that we thought was kind of funny. And I assume a lot of people thought was funny. They're taking this deadly seriously. Oh, I would too. Dana takes his brand and his brand reputation incredibly seriously. And I mean, Rogan and Goldberg tried to laugh this off and Greg was laughing hysterically. And, you know, I was, I was chuckling too, trying to keep my, you know, pay attention to the fight without getting distracted by the fact that dude's wearing, dude's wearing a speedo. But at the same time, you know, game was like, Hey, calm depot, no, you guys, if you do, if you're wearing that as a sponsor, you're going to be fired. If you don't sign on the video game fired, what I told him, what I think the clincher is, I mean, you know, he, he showed something, right? Yeah. Like there is like that, that they had to blur it out because, you know, he showed something he shouldn't have shown. Well, not only that, but I mean, you made your, you made the sport look less credible. Yeah. Dana White does not take that lightly. And you're a guy who's only claimed to fame is you managed to get two wins over my huge 15 years ago. Come on, dude. Yeah. You don't have the resume to, to back up doing something like Anderson Solva can dance in a fight with Jamie and Maya, because he's Anderson Solva. You can't be doing this, but he's not going to be able to do it twice. Yeah. Like he gets one chance. Holman is not going to get any chance. So he hasn't been officially released yet, but I mean, I wouldn't be surprised. Yeah. I figure his next fight will probably be like Brock Lesnar and catch weight. So we go forward Jorge Rivera versus Konstantino, Philippo, uh, Philippo looked, uh, pretty good in this. It was a very close fight. I actually had Rivera winning the first one, third, but most judges sought for, for, uh, for a Philippo with giving him the second and third. So yeah, Philippo picks up a win. Good fight. Good. He took that on short notice. Rivera's not a top, top name, but he's a name. Yeah. And that's a big, tough guy. Yeah. I like Rivera a lot. I mean, I hope to see him again. Yeah. Like a guy coming from the, from the opening fight and getting that fight at the last minute, there's not much of a higher guy. You could hope to be in a situation like that. Yeah. Great story. What? Rick story for us. It's Charlie Brennan. Okay. We're going coming from the top from the opening fight, getting a top guy and beating him. Okay. Yeah. That is a little bit bigger than this, but this is still pretty huge. Yeah. That's the same. Brennan, we pulled off the miracle. I can't give Philippo too much credit. Uh, Roy McDonald versus Mike Powell, uh, Mike Powell came out looking to wrestle with Roy. He got a managed to get a takedown. Roy managed to get back up. And then he proceeded to bury Powell. Yes. Uh, just absolutely took him to the ground and crushed him with punches, TKO three minutes and 54 seconds. And Rory just keeps looking great. He's the man. And he looks better and better. I honestly, I, the all-canada matchup for the belt is coming. It's on the way. You know, I think he's going to get you in the near, near future, but I think GSP will still have the belt when Rory gets a title shot. Well, they both train at TriStar and Sahabi. So, I mean, I'm off a fight. McDonald said he was on a fight GSP. He said that. Does he want a belt? Yeah. Yeah, that's the thing. I mean, conduct, conduct will fight him. Yeah. Well, uh, I'd be dead guess. I guess Rory's young and when he starts to realize how much money you can make as a world champion. And I mean, at this, at this point, I don't think he's, he, maybe he doesn't see himself as, as tight already contenders, so he's not entertaining the, the, he's not even thinking about fighting. Yeah, why bother now? Why bother now? But when it gets time, when it's like, okay, here's some cash, you're going to make a lot of money and you're going to have a belt around your ways. Look, look at bones for a shot. Not friends anymore. Yeah. The titles got between them. Yeah. Exactly. Well, I mean, Rory, I think it's still too early, but damn, this kid's got all the potential in the world. He strikes, he wrestles, he's got submissions and submission defense. He's never fun to me together. Got a rock chain. Never fun. He's a guy. Yeah. That's true. He did really well against Carlos Condet. Nate Diaz is no slouch. And then, you know, Mike Piles, the worst guy you fought, that's pretty good in the UFC. Piles and, and Piles are huge spoiler too. Yeah. I mean, this is, this is, this is one of those fabulous, terrible matches where it's an incredibly tough guy without a big name. And Rory didn't have a size advantage on Piles. And Rory didn't have a size advantage against Piles or against Diaz. Yes. Yeah. Or against Condet. He had a size. Yeah. That's right. He's bigger than Diaz, though. Remember, Diaz is a spy Walter. Yeah, but, but, but still, I mean, this is a guy who's fighting guys like a child. Despite the fact that he's, he's a big guy for welterweight, he's fighting guys that are his size. I mean, keep in mind he also won 66% of the fight against Condet, you know what I mean? Yeah. That's, that's a pretty good improvement. Absolutely. Yeah. If, if, if the ref had given that five more seconds of ground and pound, Rory would have been Condet too. Yep. So, and Rory wasn't in that much danger. So, so we go forward, uh, my handle versus all guys, and we're going to circle back to this one because I'm going to discuss it in a bit in depth. Chad Mendes versus Ronnie Yalya, uh, Chad Mendes looked good, you know, his decision, he broke his hand in the second round. Apparently not broken. So we're, we're, we're really injured. It's not broken though. For injured his hand. So he's so badly that he couldn't make a fist to punch Ronnie Yalya. He thought it was broken. But yeah, he took him down. So I guess, I guess he gets, um, the Aldo Florian winner, like, was this a good net performance? I guess you have to give it to him. I don't know who else you've got in the other way. Yeah. Other than, you know, other than. Well, other than, uh, there's a guy that's coming into fight. I can't remember his name. The Japanese fighters come in and he's fighting George Ru. Oh, yeah. Right. Yeah. That's, yeah, yeah. That's that. Yeah. But I always have to say Mendes is a leading the pack. He's leading the pack. Yeah. He's undefeated still, isn't he? Mendes. Mendes is. Yeah. So it's a good record. So it's not out of the realm of possibility given Aldo or it will be Aldo. Mengevar versus Nick Pace, Ivan managed to appoint him 2928. This is a close fight. Mengevar striking looked very, very crisp here. Johnny Hendricks versus Mike Pierce. This was another really good fight. Um, another split decision for, for Hendricks. I had Pierce winning it, but it was a very close fight. First close. Brown managed to getting Nana's decision over NAM fans. Yes. Thank God. But, uh, close. He did it. And not rough on the Taliban's to pick up your NAM's decision against Paul Bradley. We circle back to Matt Hamill versus Alexander Gostasen. Uh, Hamill and Gostasen. Gostasen looked great. He was moving around him really well on the first round. He was, he was striking. He was cruising. Uh, Hamill got him with some big, powerful pound counter shots. I was worried for him. And the second round, Gostasen managed to open him up with a hook. Took the fight to the ground and proceeded to, as every other rest of the night, ground and pound Hamill to death. Well, Gostasen, I mean, he, uh, he looked at, at the start of the fight, you could tell you he was finding his range and he was getting his rhythm and... I was getting a little frustrated with him at the beginning. Yeah. I was just like, Justin looks when it looks like he's going to open up. He's not. And I was even saying it. I was like, I don't know, man. I don't know if he's going to be able to do it. Once he opened up, once he got moving, he looked great. I'm on board. I'm on his bench. As you know. You see, now here's, this is the important thing. I've said for a while, everyone was looking at Cruz. Alexander Gostasen came out fighting like a 205 pound version of Cruz. Yeah. He had the same height advantage Cruz typically has. He was using his movement. He was fighting a shorter, stronger opponent as Cruz typically does. He trained with Cruz. This was clearly a guy who said, I want to learn what Cruz is doing. You know, he didn't do it exactly the same. He's not quite as, you didn't have as much of a speed as Cruz did. A 205 pound guy's not going to be as quick as Dominic Cruz, but he did a very good approximation. He definitely got, he got caught more than Cruz would have, but he also had the finishing power Cruz did have the second he got Hamill with that uppercut. He was going in for the kill. He hit Hamill right into retirement. Yeah. Yes, he did. Now, the reason I think this is really important to mention is before when I looked at Alliance Camp, I said, you know what, to me, they're not at the top camp. They've got Phil Davis. They've got Dominic Cruz, but Phil Davis, he hasn't shown an evolution from being just a great wrestler. Well, my issue with Phil Davis. And Dominic Cruz is a freak. No one fights like Cruz. Really? Wait, wait, wait. They find in a camp with a whole bunch of great strikers. Phil Davis doesn't seem to have learned anything. Yeah. Right now, Alexander Gostasen, he's taken on the character of Dominic Cruz. He's clearly evolved his game to be more like Dominic Cruz. That means to me, that camp now has a character, which means I'm going to have to start slotting it as a top camp. Look out for the guys that are coming out of Alliance, because you've got Cruz, Travis Brown is a very fast-light movie. Yes. Absolutely. You know, these guys are learning a style, and it could be an important style in MMA. This movement and punching from the outside, this honestly is what GSP has been doing in this last couple fights, and these guys do it better. Mm-hmm. So... Gostasen is like the guy to watch and like heavyweight now, I think. Yeah. Absolutely. So, we go forward to the news. What's up, Steve? There's not a lot. We actually touched on a lot. We're tired. Yeah. Really? I've got no time left for the guy. He doesn't seem to want to be in there anymore. Mm-hmm. I think it was the right move. When he gets into a dogfight, he just gives up. That was my complaint with him against Rampage, and he said he was thinking of retiring after Rampage, this crushing defeat. I love Hamlet. You had a great career, but to me, it's better to go be a trainer than say, "You know what? I can no longer be a contender. I'm just going to be a gatekeeper." I think Hamlet thinks that too. Now, we have another card to talk about, so I don't want to talk about this too long, but UFC or Zufa released Vador. He's done. Yeah. Well, that was only a matter of time. He was coming. The fact that Dana was going down the list of his fights and talking about how overrated he is, and I was an interviewer of some kind of news. Yeah, and that's not a guy that you're supporting. When he did that interview, you knew he wasn't interested in the interview. The ultimate truth is, as great as the history Vador has, you cannot pay a man $1.5 million, not to be on pay-per-view and to be on shows that are not drawn. And not to win. And to be there to lose three straight- And you don't have control over what you're paying the man. You pay his promotion company and they pay him. Dana released all the Golden Glory people because of that reason, because he doesn't want to pay people to pay the fighters. They pay the fighters directly. Yeah. Dana hates management companies. He hates clubs. He likes to deal with fighters directly. And that's what killed boxing. No, you're almost killed boxing. Now, here's the thing. As long as Dana is straight up, and he seems to be a pretty straight up guy, as long as he is, and he's a trustworthy guy and he treats the fighters well, this is a good system. This is the best system. If that ever changes, if Dana's relationship with fighters himself wants to change, then maybe you need management. Then maybe they need managers. But at the moment, I think this is the way it should be. Yeah. And I just think, right now, Fair, there's no place for him. No. There's no one who can be paid for to pay the guy, that level of money, for a guy who's not winning, based on his past, from years ago. Yeah. That's right. All right. So what else we got? This is going to be headlined by Dan Hardy versus Chris Lydell. This is free on TV this Sunday night. Free on TV this Sunday. This is a tough fight for Hardy. Lydell's a good guy with a great chain, good knock up power. That'll be four in a row. Hardy can't beat Lydell. You've got to cut him. No. No matter how marketable he is, no matter how big he is in England, no matter how much we like him. Yeah. He's a huge Dan Hardy supporter, but if you can't be Chris Lydell, now Lydell's no sludge, not at all. But if you can't beat Chris Lydell, after three losses, it's over. Yep. It's time for this stuff. Right now, this isn't a bad style match up for Hardy. They're both sluggers. Yeah. I mean, if you can't beat Chris Lydell and you want to keep the guy, you're now in the range where you actually have to pick fighters for him to beat. You've got to pick cans. That is not what you want to know if you've seen. No. No. So can you beat Lydell? Go home. So our question, Dan Hardy's asking himself too, can he beat Chris Lydell? What do you guys think? Well, I think so. I mean, he's... I've always got to support Dan Hardy. I mean, Chris Lydell's not really a wrestler. Yeah. Lydell is a tough dude. He gives everybody a fight. To me, Chris Lydell is a wrestler. Neither was Carlos Conda. Chris Lydell's got wicked knockout power, wicked chin. And I don't think he's going to be as plagued by doubt as Dan Hardy is. Fear and mentality does play a huge role. But he could play a huge role in the opposite way too. He can, he can. But to me, I don't see Dan Hardy coming out like a berserker and crushing Chris Lydell. That's exactly what I see. I think Dan Hardy is going to come out... I think Dan Hardy is going to come out BJ Penn style and just... I hope so. I hope so. I really like Dan Hardy. I'm going to be really excited when he comes out for this fight. But I just think Chris Lydell's more well-rounded and I think he can beat him. Okay. I hope not. But I don't want to see Dan Hardy go. But that's the only way I can see it going. I think it's a close tough fight. It could go either way. And I think the little idol might have it. It's a good main event. And then we go forward to another close tough fight for me, Jim Miller versus Ben Henderson. I'm very excited about this one. He's so excited about this one. Miller is an incredible ground specialist with phenomenal submissions. Ben Henderson... Hey, he's tough on his feet. He's tough on his feet. He's very well-rounded. But you cannot submit Vendo. That's right. Vendo is almost impossible to submit. He's got good striking, ferociously well-rounded game. But Jim Miller owns a win streak like almost no other. Yeah. Once you get past Jim Miller, you're talking about GSP and Anderson so forth. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So this guy wins. But his list of guys isn't any more impressive than the guys that Ben Henderson has beaten, I don't think. You can win a string of a bunch of guys but, like, together. But the big names that he's fought, Edgar and Maynard, they beat him. Yeah. Miller's beatable. Yeah, he is. He is beatable. Despite... These guys are very evenly matched. I don't think he can submit Henderson. I think Henderson can help him. Yes, so do I. I don't care. I don't guarantee it. I've got no idea. I think Vendo is very, very well-rounded. He's got so many tools, and it takes tools to help point somebody. I think that he can avoid Jim Miller's wrestling game and stay off the ground. So I'm calling Dendo. You can never rule out Jim Miller. I mean, on the right day, he could beat anyone. Yum. But with that being said, I love Ben Henderson. Hendo is one of my favorite fighters in the lightweight division. I'm not going to call against him just because I'm too much of a Ben Henderson fan. So as much as I respect Jim Miller, I think he's a phenomenal fighter, go Bendo. Nobody's going out easy in this fight either. This is going to be a war. This one's going to decision for sure. Not a boring decision. A war. This is going to be a fight. So we go forward to an interesting style match up. Donald Serone, the kickboxer, takes on Charles Oliveira, the submission specialist. Awesome match up. Yeah. Now, Oliveira has shown us some impressive, developing Muay Thai, and he's got a lot of height, which is something that Serone usually has an advantage in. So what's your call for this one? I think Serone's striking is better. Yeah. I think on the ground, it's almost. Oliveira is really good, but so Serone, I think he can neutralize that. I think in the end, Serone's got the better stand up, and I think he can pull it off. Yeah, I think Serone is, and in general, I mean, Serone's too tough. Serone's much tougher than Oliveira, so I think he can get tapped for sure, but I just see him being able to keep it on his feet, and it's striking him. I think this is Serone's fight. I like Serone, and he definitely has a lot of tools, and he also comes from a really, really good camp. With that being said, every time I've tried to count on Oliveira, he surprised me. So this is going to be a time I'm going to call for Oliveira. Miller beat him. Miller beat him. Yeah. Miller beats everybody. Yeah. Except Bendo. To me, Oliveira, he's a talented enough prospect, and he's evolving at such a rate. I don't think Serone is going to be able to have, he's not going to know what he's going to get in this guy, because he's just growing too damn fast. I think Oliveira is going to have the tools, and he's going to have the heart and the will, to go out there and out point Serone. I've seen Serone beat before, and I think that Oliveira can do it. He's got a lot of the qualities I like in Bend Henderson, and Henderson beats Serone. I think it's another one. I think it's another one. Other way. Another tight match, have another fun fight. Yeah. Amir Sedala takes on Dwayne Ludwig, the kickboxer. That'll be the first fight of the night. Sedala. Well, not the actual fight of the night. We'll see. It could be. Well, it'll be the first fight that they lead off the show with, and then whether it becomes further the night or not. We'll see. But Amir Sedala, he definitely is looking to prove something, and he's not an intelligent striker, so maybe we'll see what he can do to get another taunt to striker. In the prelim cards, we've got C.B. Dollway versus Jared Hammond, Joseph Benavides versus Eddie Weinlund. That's a tough bending-way fight. Benavides is incredible. That is, that's what I mean. Good. We're watching them all on Facebook, but we're especially going to not really Facebook. I'm really excited to see that. I can't believe that's well. I guess it makes sense that that's on the prelim, but still, I mean, Benavides. That should be on the main card, and Amir Sedala should be on. Yeah, seriously. And Weinlund is also a phenomenal player. Yeah, that's great. That's great. Anyone who owns a knockout slam, I love watching him fight. Ed Herman versus Kyle Noke, I'm ambivalent. [LAUGHTER] Sorry, then. [LAUGHTER] Kyle is from all over, this is Ronnie Marx. Okay, really quickly, Kyle is from all, look like a killer in that last fight. I'm really excited to watch him just rip a guy's head off. Ronnie Marx, at 11-1 BJJ Expert, you can't take the guy lightly if the fight goes to the ground. You've got to figure. Fomol has not shown he can defend himself, but Fomol's got a powerful wrestling base and he can strike. Chris Harris kind of takes on Jimmy Harris. Bruce Lee Roy. Bruce Lee Roy. So he of Ultimate Fighter fame. I'm happy to see him fight again, although I don't see him long for the UFC. The other Miller Cole takes on TJ O'Brien. Jacob Christmas Volkmann takes on Danny Castillo, and then Edwin Figueroa takes on Jason Reiner. Very excited to see Figueroa fight again. He had that great fight with Michael McDonald. And yeah, we are at a time, so we will talk about how these fights went next week. Yep. Thank you for tuning in. You've been us this is a 93.3. See you from you. And have a good week.
