There's a new number one contender in the UFC Heavyweight division following UFC 131: Carwin vs. Dos Santos.  We give our thoughts on the huge main event, as well as the rest of the mostly entertaining card. Then we preview the upcoming Strikeforce: Werdum vs. Overeem show, the second part of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.   That doesn't leave us a lot of time for news, but we do debate the merits of all UFC non-title main events getting 5 rounds, and the idea of Jon "Bones" Jones vs. Rampage.Check out our website at http://www.thehammermma.com and subscribe to our show in the Itunes store.

[music] Hello and welcome to the Hammer. I'm your host, Dave, and we're joined as always by my co-hosts. Greg, how's it going, guys? And Steve, hey. It is Wednesday, June 15th, and we have a great show for you. We're going to talk about the previous UFC, the Santos V's car one, as well as the Strike Force Grand Prix, which is coming up this Saturday. But first, let's talk a little bit about the Score Fight Series, and you're listening to us live at 93.3 CFMU. You can also find us at thehammermma.com. So, last Friday, the Score Fight Series took place in Mississauga. Hershey Center. At the Hershey Center. Great night of fights. The first four were really entertaining. The last four were a little bit slow, but still good fights. It also didn't help that the card went until 2 a.m. Yeah, it was a little bit car. It was very, very long. But a lot of decisions set the show in us. But it was a great night of fights. If you want to find out more about it, do check it out. We did a put up a special show on the YouTube, so you can check it out at thehammermma.com. Well, the big news that we didn't really talk about on that show briefly was that Jordan Maine fought the Dream welterweight champion, and he needs him. And Jordan Maine's a local guy, and he's gunning for the UFC, and this is probably the win that's going to do it. Hopefully, see him in December in my turn. To me, what was really the fight of the night for this was Adrian Wolzley versus Nick Mamalas. Well, Adrian Wolzley versus Nick Mamalas. Great fight. If this was a UFC fight, this would've been a fight of night. These guys are locked away for $50,000 each. Yeah, that was the best fight of the night, for sure. One of the best I saw that weekend. Got to catch up with both of them, too, so. Yeah, and we got interviews with both of them, so check that out as well. Yeah, so check out thehammermma.com for a show all about the score fighting series from last week. But onwards to DeSantos versus Carwin. Well, backwards to DeSantos and Carwin. Well, no, but if I happen Saturday after, really, the score fights here. Okay, I gotcha. But thank you to score for putting that on. We hope to see more of the shows like that. Yeah. So onwards to Junior DeSantos versus Carwin. This one, we expected this one to be a... A domination by Junior DeSantos. Yeah, this one, we figured the story would be either Carwin catches him quick or DeSantos uses his points to score him. Yep. A little bit of both. DeSantos outscored and used his speed, but first round, devastating. Got Carwin with a brutal one too, Carwin went down. DeSantos savaged him. The second DeSantos found his range, it was just, it was academic. I mean, he was quicker than Carwin. He just showed greater stand-up. Carwin looked lost and he got in massacre, just faces like Hamburg or at the end of the first round. Well, after that first round, Carwin wasn't even aggressive at all anymore. No, he was hanging back. I just, I can't believe that, like, it looked like I saw Carwin be broken. Yeah. And it was terrible. Yeah. It wasn't like the Brock fight where he punched himself out and he looked great in the first round. At no point did Carwin look good in that fight. Well, in the first round, I was around, that to me was a 10-8 round. He took a salvage beating in this round. That was a 10-8 round. He was turtled up and DeSantos just was unloading him. At one point DeSantos looked up, looked at the ref and was like, "More?" Yeah. Would you like me to hurt him more, please? Yeah. I haven't stopped the fight yet. It was just kind of punching him. Herb Dean is like, "I'm not tired of this yet." He's hitting him. So, just absolutely ridiculous. DeSantos wasn't even mark on him after the fight, not so much as a black guy. He did say that he had never been hit as hard as he had been by Carwin, and I believe that, but not even anything close to. Yeah. Carwin hit him with a savage left hand in a second, but that was all he managed to do. Yeah, that's all that I can think of, too. I mean, there were the odd shot here and there, but nothing really big. It was a story of Carwin being so much slower and being a little bit shorter and having less reach. He just could. DeSantos is an out fighter. He's a talented down boxer. Once he's got reach on you like that, you can't catch him. And his takedown defense is such that you can't take him down either. What really stunned me, though, was that it was the final round when the Carwin started to gas out after beating he was taking. DeSantos actually went after him, picked him up, and took him down. Yep. Once with a really impressive slam, you know, so Junior said, "Hey, I told you guys I was working on my wrestling game for these guys. If you got a take on Brock, Lesnar, Shane Carwin, and Kane Velazquez at the top of the division, you better have an A1 wrestling game. You got to have some wrestling, definitely. I didn't think DeSantos did before, but he does now. When he also blocked takedowns during the fight, too, like, he didn't just say he was working as wrestling. He aggressively and defensively, he showed it. Well, also, I mean, he's always been good at takedown defense. You know, he's good at wrestling. Well, he's good at wrestling, but, I mean, he didn't start taking Carwin down until Carwin was already a broken man. So, I'm not going to, I mean, Jose Santos is my favorite fighter, but I'm not going to say that he's a world beater as of yet when it comes to Velazquez. I have, I actually do have some reservations about DeSantos going against Velazquez after this. I'm a little worried. Like, especially the third round in that, other than, you know, the takedown, as the fight went on, DeSantos, same with the Nelson fight, he didn't, he stopped the aggression as much, and he said afterwards that he was gassing in the press conference. He said, like, I had trouble going the all three rounds at that pace, and, you know, Velazquez won't. Well, if you're a 245-pound man throwing that many punches and moving with that much footwork, you better be getting tired after 15 minutes. He has, has Velazquez gone that pace for a full, a full fight? Really? No, no. We're going to compare Congo's pace to DeSantos's. Velazquez's, his cardio comes from his, like, legendary training, where he'll fight 25 round fights or something like that, or something like that, and training. And so, he apparently is unstoppable when it comes to cardio. DeSantos himself is saying that this is a weak spot for him. Yeah, so he's got to work on that. Well, on the other hand, it's not all that weak of a spot for DeSantos. Oh, no. Yeah, you only got to win three rounds and run for the last two. Oh, yeah, I guess. Well, I don't want to see that. No, no, not at all. And that's the thing. I don't want to take anything away from him. He's amazingly impressive. DeSantos is just a one over a whole new group of people like this past weekend. But that's a weak spot that he's got to address. Well, to me, it's a bittersweet win, because two of my top three favorite fighters in the world at the moment, two of one of my top three of all time, are going to have to fight. And one of them is going to lose. Yeah. Whether Velas-- This is a draw. That must be a draw, because there's been a few of those lately. Velasquez versus Asantos, one of the guys going to win, most likely, one guy is going to lose. But with that being said, this is too legitimate, best in the world, fighting for a heavyweight championship. I mean, as much as I love both guys, this is what the sport's about. I don't care what I have going on that Saturday. I'm watching that fight. Yeah. Like, this is MMA. This fight is what it is about. The two best in the division, fighting in the division. Two best in the division. Two best proven in the division, fighting each other for a championship. Well, because there's no-- I mean, I don't think that Asantos would have any problem with Brock after the performance he put against Karwin. I think the only person in the division that is a real legitimate danger for Asantos is Velasquez, who's the champion. Of that being said. We'll find out November. I think that Velasquez had Velasquez gotten Karwin into that same position in the first round. The fight would have been over. I think the only challenge for Asantos, or for Velasquez, is to Asantos. Yeah. It's going to be a question of they both match up so well in every facet of their game. Yeah. So this is the fight. Now, we go forward to what else was a great fight. Kenny Florian versus Diego Nunez. Kenny Florian, I've never seen a man look so rip and so hungry going into a fight. Yeah. Not hungry to win. I wanted to give him a sandwich. Yeah. He cut a lot of weight to make this the first time. I don't even believe he did a test weight cut to get down to it to 145. Mm-hmm. And he looked, coming to the ring, I just, I said he looked sad. He looked like, he looked like rumble. When, when he thought cost checked out. And the thing is though, as the fight went on, he got more gas. He did. He really did. I was, I thought he was going to collapse early but he, but he, he looked good. Yeah. He actually looked decent. He looked decent but I think gas is a relative concept. I think he looked like he had more gas as Nunez got less gas. Well, yeah, yeah. Well, the fact that we thought he was going to crash and burn after the first round. Yeah. He just got more impressive. Well, that's not the thing. But the thing is his strategy was to take Diego Nunez down and, and grapple on top of him. Good strategy. You're a much bigger man. Nunez caught him with a couple shots that like rocked him solidly or, you know, almost dropped him a couple times. But the thing about that is the, the hand that Nunez and the, the low kick that Nunez just dropped Florian with in the first round, if my mind of Florian's at 100% of his game, there's no way that hand drops him. Well, yeah. Florian was, Florian wasn't at his, his peak definitely. Yeah. It took him a while to get going. But you could tell he was the better man in this fight. The same as that. Here's a guy who's notoriously bad for not really having great wrestling and he out wrestled a dude. So I know he's on the side. He's much bigger than wrestling is about, about size and strength. Now, on the other hand, if you're getting hit by Diego Nunez, you're going to take on Jose Aldo. You, who hits a lot harder and a lot faster than Diego Nunez. Why? Jose Aldo. I still don't believe Florian is, is that much of a challenge for Aldo. No. I don't think so either. But watch Florian in this next fight. They have to his second fight at this weight class. Yeah. He'll be even more impressive. Yeah. He doesn't. Which is going to be the title shot. They're doing it. Are they going to get into them? I don't know if I agree with that. Okay. I, okay. I don't agree. He deserves it. I don't believe that the. It should be Mendez. I agree. But you have to headline a pay per view with a featherweight title fight. I just think the new that, that should have got it. Yeah. I maintain though. You know, Diego Nunez, he is, he's best friends with Aldo. Aldo's now has a chance to have seen Florian fight. And if Nunez is catching you, Aldo's going to catch you much, much worse. Yeah. I don't think that Florian's going to be able to handle Aldo. Unless he, unless he really, because he's got more time to get used to this weight. So he'll be, I think he'll be in better shape than he was for the Nunez fight. For sure. So that, that, that remains to be seen how he's going to, how he's going to handle that. Cause he's going to get, he's going to have more time to get used to it. This is a little side note about Nunez. Cause Nunez, I mean, he looked out match by a guy who's, who's obviously the bigger man. And a big, a big, a big good man is going to be a big, a small, good man. And it's just the way. Usually. Usually. Nunez did look good at this, but I have to say this. He can't, during every interview and during the fight, he draws a little heart in the air. Then he points at the heart and like a mouse, I love you to the crowd. Don't do that. When you're fighting, you're not feeling swift. Oh, come on. No, I had no problem with that. When did you become such a tough guy? Yeah, seriously. Hit it when Yamazaki does it, when we, when he does a little play. Well, maybe it's something. Well, maybe it's not just like superficial like that. Maybe there's actually something. Maybe he loves the fans. Oh, maybe he loves the fans. I have no problem with an athlete who loves their fans. It's like, it's like the inverse of LeBron James. So. I'm just saying there's a guy coming down the ring to beat you up. Maybe, you know, focus. Yeah, but he's not there to beat up the fans. Yeah, but he's there to respect. He gives respect to us. Come on. You're just a jerk. Maybe I am. Let's move on. So we go on to Maya versus Munoz. I did not expect this fight to be particularly exciting fight. I thought it was going to suck. I thought it was going to be a grappling competition. Yeah. What's better, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or wrestling? It wasn't. It was good. It actually was an incredibly interesting fight. As the first round, I would say, they're grappling just kind of gated each other into a striking battle. Yeah, that Damian Maya won. Yeah, he looked. You know what? He looked like he'd improved. He's worked on it. This isn't the Damian Maya that fought Nate Marquardt for three seconds. He looked phenomenal. He managed to score really some of my shots on Munoz. In clicking some head kicks and mixing up his strikes and using them to set up grappling opportunities in the clench. He's going to beat that up on the cage. He's getting more well-rounded. He's improving. Munoz looked shocked. Then the second round, Munoz managed to grab him and ground him and it turned into a very, very tactical battle from that point on. This was the wrestling versus the Jiu-Jitsu with the fighter. Then in the third round, as Munoz grabbed him, Maya somehow managed to transition it to a crucifix choke. Looked like he was going to win the fight, but Munoz managed to power out of it. It would have been submission of the year if he pulled it off. If he pulled that off, that would have definitely been submission of the year. With that being said, Munoz, he's a very, very well-trained grapple himself. He managed to get out of it. It went 29, 28, 29, 28, and 30, 27 for Munoz. I don't know how he won the first round, but okay. The first round was Maya no matter how you look at it. The first round was definitely Maya. Munoz definitely won the second round and the third round was close enough that to me, Munoz winning it makes perfect sense. That's a big win for Munoz because Maya is arguably the second or third top middleweight in that division. He just beat him. It's time to get Munoz into that. I think Munoz should face Stan. That would be perfect. To me, that's a perfect fight. Let's see how it fights against him. Let's start the rumor right now. I heard that Brian Stan and Mark Munoz are going to be fighting in the near future. No, I think so. That sounds good. I heard that I run the water cooler today. Yeah, Munoz will stand. It makes perfect sense. Maya, we'll see what goes on with him. He looked fantastic in this, despite it being a loss. He looked like he's a guy that, as he gets his game together, I want to see what happens with Maya. He needs to mix and striking and wrestling with his incredible submissions. He's always going to be in the upper echelon of that division. The middleweight division is probably depth-wise the weakest of the established UFC divisions. Maya is impressive for that division and he's still top three or four in the UFC, I think, in that division. Absolutely. So, John O'Lavainimo took on Dave Herman. This one was ugly, but pretty good fight. Yeah, it was enjoyable. It was ugly, but it was exciting to watch. This was just a brawl. I'm going to wait for a couple of takedowns. Herman stuffed them. This actually, Herman looks a lot like the same bill as Junior de Santos. And I know it looks like a lot like the same bill. He's a very big, heavy weight. Let's play like that. Yeah, he is. And it turned into a credible brawl with I'm winning the first round, pretty handily. Going after Herman really hard in the second round, trying to put the guy away. Herman stepped back, countered with a left. And it was literally the most beautiful combo I've ever seen from him. Yeah, it was really great. From a heavy weight. Hit a left hand, a body kick, a hand needed a head, and then dropped them and locked them out with it from ground and pound. Yeah. Phenomenal. Yeah. Phenomenal. That was very impressive. I don't think I'd am going to look that great to be perfectly honest. He hasn't been able to fight like four or five years. Dude is rusty. I don't think he's that good. I think Karwin would have feasted on him that had those two fought. Realistically, I think Karwin would have feasted on either one of these guys. At the same time, probably. Yeah, I think that when you say like, "Oh, look, these guys probably didn't say a chance against Karwin to Santos or Velazquez." Really, who does? Yeah. Yeah, I guess. Yeah. Well, other than... I'm just saying, I'm glad that Karwin got to fight Dos Santos instead. With that being said, Dos Santos got his start when he was being fed to Verbedume and crushed him. Inimo, you know, he was getting fed Herman. Herman crushed him. Herman's got some upside. Let's see what the guy can do. Yeah. He's an impressive windfight in the night. He's got a highlight real knockout now. Yeah. Absolutely. This was Fight of the Night? Yes. Really? Yes. Oh, wow. Okay. I've got my favorite. I'll mention that later. Yeah. These guys walked out with $70,000 each. Yeah. Seroni picked apart Wagner Roca. Roca could not take the fight to the mat where he needed to be. Seroni just killed him with his my time. Totally. His leg kicked him all throughout the rounds. Roca could not stand by the end of the third. They've got to start moving Seroni up. Yeah. I mean, you got Paul Kelly and now Roca. He's way above this, the class, these guys. I mean, his last loss was to Ben Henderson, wasn't it? Yeah. Let's at least... Yeah. Let's at least throw him and talk 20 guys. Yeah. That's for sure. Yeah. Sam Stout knocked out Eve's Edward. Amazing. This was a fantastic knock out. Oh my god. Eve Edwards was out for like five minutes. Scaring knock out. I like Sam Sowger in the press conference afterwards. He's like, "Thank God I got this knock out." They've been calling me Hands of Stone. I've been knocked in one note in years. Yes. Oh, that London humor. You look good. He really did. I mean, yeah. They do call him Hands of Stones for a reason. He can knock guys out what he needs to do. Well, he's always entertaining. He always has something at the night. You know, it's usually fight, but knock out this time. He could buy a yacht with all those bonuses. He really could. Probably has. So we go forward to another guy who gets a lot of bonuses. Chris Weidman versus Jesse Bongfeld. Weidman managed to lock in a standing guillotine choke right at the end of the first round. This is a massacre. Four minutes and 54 seconds, but no point did Bongfeld look like he had a chance of a chance. We said it before. Weidman's the guy to watch a middleweight coming up. Yeah. He's built similar to Anderson Silva. He's got that height. My only worry with him is his knee. You know, he's had what? Four knee surgeries or something? He talked about it during his post finally. Yeah. So I mean, but he's got a lot of talent. He's got great wrestling and he's big. He's huge for the division. If his knee holds up enough for him to go, I mean, I think Stan is the story right now. Yeah. But what I mean to me is the second guy. Well, he's where Stan was a year ago. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And I'd love to see Weidman tested against some solid guys. I mean, you know, you've got Maya. You've got, you know, I just complete your brain. So there's a lot of guys that will be been. Yeah, I don't think we've been as a dance partner right now. Oh, he's got Silva. Okay. Yeah, Silva. Yeah. We're getting ahead of ourselves on Weidman. He's got to move up slower than that. But yeah, we're getting taught down for the future. I don't think that it's, to me though, I don't think it's a big jump up from Jesse Bongfeld to Akiyama. Yes, it is. Akiyama has been being beaten. But when you're losing to Belcher and like these guys who are way, way higher than Belcher. I'm not saying I'm putting him with Belcher. I'm saying putting him with Valcher. I'm saying putting him with Valcher. I don't think he did. He's coming off of two losses. And it's like he's going from the prelim card to the first. I'm just saying he's losing the guys way up there. Yeah. Oh, whatever. He's leaving. Definitely way up there. He is. So we go on to the Facebook card. Suzuki managed to get a generous decision against Mesocenio. Nick Ring choked out James Head. Dustin Poié continues winning streak beating Jason Young. Honestly, I like both of these guys. They're both good. Poié, it's good for him. Yeah. Poié, he's making waves. He's being knocked off crispy. He's picked up another win. Look for this guy. He's going to be, he's even moving up. Because of further weight divisions wide open. Quick division, yeah, definitely. Fast, fast division. Michir Harro El-Magawa got robbed in a loss to Darren Elkins. Just absolutely made no sense about this decision. But what are you going to do? The judging is the judging. And then to me, what was my favorite fight of the night? Joy Beltran vs. Ari Broier and Rosa. Yeah. This was really fun. This is entertaining. It was great. Just two big guys hitting each other. Two big guys slugging it out. So, you know, Beltran just clawed them. It looked like human rock 'em, sock 'em, roll those. This was great. How this didn't get fighter the night is beyond me. It was the most entertaining fighter of the world. Yeah, the most entertaining I've seen in some time. So, well done Joy Beltran. He always has his crazy fights. Aaron Rosa, great chin. Yeah. Well done. So, we go forward to the strike force, which has come up this Saturday. This is the great return of the Grand Prix for the second round of fights. So, we've got some-- Well, I'm still the first round. The second half of the first round. The second half of the first round. The second half of the first round. The second half of the first round. Haven't gotten through that yet. Yeah. Give it a few years. Yeah. So, well, in the main event is, of course, Overeem vs. Verdume. Yep. Verdume is on a hot note here. He's managed to beat Antonio Silva and for Enfield or Emilio Enaco. Yeah. And he holds a win over Overeem. On the other hand, the Overeem he beat was the 205 pound Overeem. Yeah. Overeem Sensen has become an absolute monster. Overeem is an absolute, yeah. He's sent an absolute monster. Overeem and Uvereem is will be different fighters. Yeah. And I-- He's so scary. On the other hand, can Overeem, you know, his submission game isn't particularly fantastic. He doesn't need it when he's going to punch Verdume to death. He doesn't need one. This is going to be a, oh. Poor Verdume, that's all I got to say. I like Verdume. Verdume can, I mean, Verdume can tap anybody. We know that. But, Overeem is just such a beast right now. Verdume is a better Verdume or a worse Verdume that then fought those Santos a while back. I'm going to say better. He thinks he's a better Verdume. Yeah. We'll see. But this could very well go the same way. Yeah. I'm not 100% sold on Overeem yet either, because I do think that this big run of wins he's on, it's one of those ones where he's beating guys that I don't think are all the hub. But I just think this is a bad match up for Verdume. He holds Duffy, but like, okay, you beat Duffy, but Duffy is a striker and you struck him. Well done. Overeem's not, Verdume's not a striker. Oh, Brett Rogers. He's not beating, he's not beating good guys. But I think that Verdume, I just think it's a bad style is a match up. I just pictured him doing to him what does Santos did to Verdume. Yeah. That's all I can see with this as well. I'm going to go against you guys. I'm going to call Verdume for this. I think if the fight goes, if the fight isn't his feet, obviously Overeem is going to win. But I think that Verdume is improving enough that he's going to not take the fight on his feet. He's going to get the fight to the ground one way or the other. He's either going to, you know, die for a takedown or he's going to try to suck her a man like you did with Fedor. Is he going to get him on the ground with land mines and tripwires? I just don't see it. Well, we'll see. But Verdume can top anyone. He's beat over him before. I think this is going to lay on over. That is very true. So we go forward to speaking of guys who aren't good. Brett Rogers. Okay. Brett Rogers. Okay. He's not pretty good. But his losses are to over even Fedor. Yeah. You're the one you know, he's going to teleport Bricker Rogers. Well, when you compare him to what you did, no, you did, no, you did. When you compare him to the high end of that strike force heavyweight class, then yeah, he's not very good. But he's still all right. He's still entertaining and he's still a competent fighter. He's a very, very powerful boxer. Yes. No, he's one dimensional. He's one dimensional. That's the, that's the thing. The problem is is Barnett is a very, very powerful boxer who's also a phenomenal wrestler. Yeah. And I think that Barnett is going to be able to take this fight to the ground and win it. So last time Barnett fought you guys know, he's finally a year or two ago, but he hasn't, he's not been on a big run though. I don't think he's lost in years, but I do think that Barnett is experienced enough and tough enough that he can be Rogers. With that being said, Rogers has gotten a lot of flash knockouts. He's got heavy hands and the fight does start standing. What are your guys calls? I think I'll go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. I think that Rogers has been losing to these guys with the experience because he is an experienced and he, I think he'll lose. I think this is one of those things where the veteran's going to come through. Yeah, I'm going to call Barnett as well. I think he's more well rounded. So we are enamis and call him Barnett. And with that being said, the winner of this fight may well win the competition because the next guy they've got a fight is Cartanov. Yeah. Meanwhile, the winner of Overing vs. Redoom has to fight monstrous, huge Antonio Silva. Yeah, there's really, this thing was set up. Well, the thing was, it was set up so that you could get them the, the fights guaranteed. The money really big money strikes guaranteed. So I understand that way. It's just such an unfair tournament. Absolutely. I'm going to laugh if you've got either, you know, steroid or junkie Barnett win the tournament or Brett Rogers, who already lost everyone in the top row for the broadcast. Yeah, exactly. Then he got KJ Nunes vs. Jorge Milmazvidal. Which will be fun. This will be incredibly fun. This is a boxers going at it. Good, like. KJ Nunes is fun to watch. Yeah. Absolutely. Daniel Cormier takes on Jeff Munson. Munson is old, but he is still tough. And for once, you know, Cormier will not be at a height disadvantage. Yeah. So this should be an impressive wrestling match. Valentin Overim will take on Chad the Gravedigger, Greg. Awesome. This, yeah. And he's used to watch Chad Greg's. He's, he's exciting. He's really fun. Overim is massive. He's going to have a huge size advantage over over Greg's here. Does that's going to make the fight even better? Because you've got to see if Greg's can handle someone who's that much bigger than him. This is one of those nights of fights where I'm thinking that the veterans have an edge, but not in this one. There's something about Greg's. Because he's just dumb and tough and I like him and I want to see him win. Yeah. And Strike Force will also be showing the preliminary card on HDNet for the first time. They will actually be taping a preliminary card. Thank you, Sufi. Thank you, Sufi. For buying them. Yeah. So, and it will include such fighters as Gisius Kavalcante, Justin Wilcox, Connor Hoon, Magno Almeida, Nashoon Burrell, Joe Ray, Todd Moore, Mike Bronzolias, Brian Melicon, and Isaac Valley Flag. I've never heard of anything. He had a partridge in the car. Well, Strike Force gets local guys to fill up their other cards. So no one. Hey, there's some, there might be some gems in there. Yeah, absolutely. Isaac Valley Flag and Nashoon Burrell, so many gems in there. Hey, you know what? You never know. Nobody, nobody figured Junior just Santos is going to do anything and then knocked out verdumes. Right. And I'm telling you, I'm calling Nashoon Burrell. He's got to keep an eye on. Well, luckily that fight's not five rounds. UFC has decided to make all of their main events going forward, five rounds, even the non-titled fights. Yeah. Well, there's pros and cons to this. I mean, if you're, if you're, if you're more of a traditional fan where you like things the old way, if you're an older school fan, then this is not going to really, you're not going to like this because it's just championship fights have been five rounds. But you're going to get main events that shouldn't have ended after three rounds that are going to continue with five, like we're Cro-Cock, for example. What would have happened if you don't care? Well, don't care. I'll repeat your shot. I'll repeat your shot. Yeah. Yeah. Me and Cro-Cock end with a knee. I'll repeat your shot. I just can't get that horrible fight out of my head. I just want it to be better. In case. I'm just fearing a five round version of it. Yeah. If you figure like the last two rampage fights, rampage versus Rashida and rampage versus Machida, both of those have been gone five rounds, could have been completely different fights and they're both main events. So yeah, you know, rampage versus Hamill, what have happened if I kept going for another two rounds? So I don't care about that one either. Well, no, I mean, you, if five rounds is a longer time, either the fighters are going to gas is going to be worse or it's a longer time for the true, for the one who's supposed to win to actually win. I think this is big for what, for number one contenders fights, which often headline pay per views as well, does Santos versus car win? I mean, that was looking pretty one-sided, but that should have been a five round fight. You know, it's the two top guys. Well, how had that been a five round fight? It could have been completely different because the Santos is saying that he's starting to get tired. You never know. Yeah. Well, that was okay. Right. Okay. I really don't think car would have pulled out a miracle on that one. I think the Santos would have continued to come for the last two rounds. But your, your example with the rampage fights? Absolutely. That would have been much better with five rounds, I think. Or for that, my Rashad versus Chago Silver, in both fights. Yeah. Rashad looked like he was gassing very paddling in the third round. He was mailing it in. He was mailing it in because the fight was ending. Yeah. But in the fourth and fifth rounds, how those guys can just picked it up? Yeah. They would have won. And Rashad would have gassed more and maybe Silver would have gotten an advantage or a rampage would have gotten an advantage in that particular fight. Well, both times in the third round, Rashad almost got clubbed to death and just managed to escape. Yeah. Well, Rampage... Two rounds to get him to club the guy. Well, Rampage just lucked himself into a title shot. John Bones decided to get hand surgery, Rashad took a different fight, and now Bones is healthy in fighting Rampage, September. Oh, Rashad. Rashad got screwed. No. What can you do? No. But, I mean, ultimately... Oh, one month after Rashad is fighting. Yeah. That's the kicker. I mean, to me, Bones and Rampage is still going to draw. Oh, to be huge. And Bones and Evans is going to draw when that one fights, because it's got so much drama behind it. Yeah. So being... Let's see who's he was now hitting each other. Mm-hmm. So... You know, to me, that screams like it's a season of Ultimate Fighter when it happened. Oh, yeah. Actually, that'd be really good. Bones versus... Rashad. So... Yeah. Well, either one of these two, I don't have a preference whether Rashad fights, Bones or Rampage fights, Bones. I think both fights are going to be interesting. They're going to be half decent tests for Bones, and I still think Bones could be either of those guys, so... And, honestly, whichever one, no matter who wins, the other guy is going to... The other guy's going to get a shot. If Bones wins, there's going to be drama with him and Evans. If Rampage wins, there's going to be drama with him and Evans too. Yeah. You know, both of these guys hate Evans. And Evan hates both of these guys. It'd be just Aster if Rashad loses his fight, though. Oh, yeah. But, I mean, like, realistically, you know, Phil Davis... It could happen. It could happen. Yeah. Well... We'll find out in September. Phil Davis loses Bones. I mean, people, I guess, be interesting. Yeah. Why not? Anybody... No, you don't want that one. Anyone against... Honestly, anyone against Bones is going to draw. Anybody else knows? Nah, that's pretty much it. Well, I think that's all we have for the week. We're just out of time. That's all.
