[music] Hello and welcome to the Hammer. I'm your host Dave, doing this always by-- Greg, how's it going guys? And Steve. So, we are pre-recording this on 93.3 CFMU. We have been displaced by the basketball championships. But good luck to the boys and girls competing in Waterloo tonight. Yep. So, you'll be listening to us Thursday morning. You can listen to us Thursday morning, or you can find us at iTunes or thehammermma.com. And this is episode 25 of the Hammer. So, 25th episode is a moment adopted our new numbering system. And we haven't missed a week yet, not bad. Yeah, it's pretty good. So, well-- One of us shows up at least. Well, look at this usually. There's always a show. There's always a show anyway. There's always at least two of us. There's always one. Let us begin. Let us begin. So, in any case, we go forward. We have a little review of the UFC Fight for Troops, which happened last Saturday. We also have upcoming Strike Force. And, of course, news as always. So, for Fight for the Troops, this was, it wasn't predicted to be the most-- I like the card. It wasn't a star-studded card. It was a fighter's card. But it was a fighter's card. There was a lot of people on here who could fight. And it turned out to be a fighter's card. So, in the main event, we had Evan Dunham versus Melvin Guillard. I said Guillard was not to be underestimated. He came out and rocked on him with some good shots. Yeah, I got that. First round. Very, very quick. And he finished him off with the right hand and got him down and pounded him out two minutes, 50 seconds for TK. I got to say, this match made me feel like an idiot for calling Dunham last week. Oh, no. You know what? Like, Dunham was the favorite going into it. Yeah. I mean, I can't say I was all that surprised. Guillard has shown serious improvements. His last match aside, which is kind of a fluke. He's an awesome striker. And as I said last week, when has Dunham faced a striker of his caliber? That's true. Well, not only that, but the fact that the last fight to me shows even more of an evolution in his game, because with Stevens being such a powerful counter striker, the fact that Guillard was like, you know what, I'm going to be patient. I'm going to Namaka go for the shelf boat finish. I'm going to try to pick him apart and use my speed and my boxing. I know it's not the most exciting fight. But at the same time, it shows that this is a guy who now has a game plan. What's crazy to me? I like the fight that was pretty exciting anyway. Oh, yeah. Well, I think this is great. This is a guy who's had 50-something fights. Now he's working with Greg Jackson, and he's just pleased himself to a completely different level. He's a new guy. He's a new guy. I mean, I still don't think he's a title contender. I don't know. Even with beating Dunham, I think he found a weak spot in Dunham's game and exploited it. But I don't think he's a title. Now, he called afterwards. He said that he would like to challenge for the title by the end of 2011. If you give them the benefit of the doubt that he can fight three times this year, if he moves up the ladder, boom, boom, boom, three guys, three fights in a row, if I win three fights in a row, I'll get a title shot. Exactly. Well, at this point though, he's won two in a row. No, no. This is his fourth in a row. Yeah. So, I mean, he's won four in a row. Only two. This is a knock-up of the night. To my mind, he's definitely working his way in the conversation. Is he as much in the conversation in Showtime, Pettis or Georgetown Robles? No. Or Jim Miller. Or Jim Miller. Or because Kamal Shallars is facing Jim Miller. Kamal Shallars. Well, let's be serious. There's guys in the way. If he gets, if he gets a, it's a couple of fights. If Shallars beats Miller, as much as I know that we all love Shallars, he's not going to title shot. But he can't one before he, I think it'd be Guillard or Shallars. No, Shallars. If Shallars beats Jim Miller, he would get a title shot before Guillard. But say Guillard's next two fights are like a Miller and then a Sutteropolis. Oh, he's in then. That he's in. Is he going to beat Miller and Sutteropolis? Yeah. But you know what? That's what you said last week about is he going to be done. Oh. Dunham versus Miller and Sutteropolis. Come on now. But it's a different level. Yeah. It's a real long shot. But at least people are talking about the guy now. Oh, yeah. For sure. Like this is a very important win. And now Dunham, now he's lost two in a row, one of them kind of sketchily. But now like, you know, what do you do with Dunham now? Yeah. He's a, he's a bit of a. The thing with Dunham is he's too big to cut. He's off the main card though. He's not going down to 145. I think he's off the main card though. I think the next pay-per-view he's going to be a spike special. If he goes on the spike card and loses a fight, I mean, Dunham could be cut in three months from now. They're going to give Dunham somebody who he can beat next. They're going to give them everybody for the doubt because they like Dunham. Yeah. They've got way too. They've got a lot invested in him too. I mean, he's got a great potential. He's very, very young. So they're going to give him many, many chances. And the next fight will be someone that he should be able to soundly beat. Yeah. They should give him a guy like that. And then if he loses to him, then okay, look, maybe they should send him back down to the miners or something for a bit. But you're right. They shouldn't give him a top five or top 10 guy. He'd give him some, give him someone they want to cut, you know, how to really. That doesn't always work out, isn't it? It's in the glens. Yeah. So we go forward. We go to the heavyweights, Matt Mitryon versus Tim Heg. Mitryon had, last week, had been saying that he had found the secret to being Tim Heg. And I asked, is the secret punching him in the face? Apparently so. Apparently it was. I guess, yeah, it is. Mitryon punched me in the face. Tim Heg collapsed. He got back up. Mitryon punched me in the face again. Tim Heg fell back down and this time he didn't get back up. I was so disappointed in his performance. I mean, I guess, I mean, it shows you what, I guess it shows you what level Heg is on and it also shows you what level Mitryon. Which is incredible for Mitryon. I think about Mitryon. This is a guy who a year ago coming off the ultimate fighter. People hated this dude and thought that he was awful. Like, not just he was annoying, but he was a technical, just a terrible fighter, a lame person. Well, love in this guy, though. He actually chanted his name and, you know, I can't help but get on board with this guy. However, though, it was a US guy fighting a Canadian in a US military base. Well, with that being said, Mitryon, as much as you know, Tim Heg did not look to be good in this fight, he's a veteran fighter. Yeah. He's a solid veteran fighter. Mitryon had three fights in his career. You know, Mitryon was picked up three wins in a row. The same as Shob or or Madsen. And for Mitryon, you can actually watch his fights and track his improvements. He's now counter punching better. He's lighter on his feet. He's more lucid. He's improved every fight. And which is important. And also, in terms of physical tool sets, this guy's got a lot. He's adding two. He's 275. He cuts down to 260. Yeah. He looked at better shape. He's got the size. He looked in better shape. He looked more technical. He's improving as it goes. So, I mean, now you got to give him someone like Congo, I think. That's the perfect explanation. Yeah. Like I said, I don't think Mitryon is at the top level yet. No. He's definitely, he's another guy who is working his way into the conversation. And the conversation in the heavyweight division is a lot more open in the conversation. Yeah. Well, think about the heavyweight division. It's at the top, there's like the six guys or whatever, like who you consider your main event. And then below that, the field's wide open. The Congo gate. Yeah, exactly. But you beat a guy like Congo. Now you're up there. You graduate in the heavyweight division from being at the bottom to being in the top six guys with a couple of wins. And he can do it. He's picked up a couple of wins. I mean, Congo would be a good pick. I think Ben Rothwell would be another interesting pick. If Ben Rothwell ever comes back, I don't know what's up with that game. Yeah, he's kind of missing in action. But yeah, the other thing with Mitryon is he's got such a wacky personality. The fans kind of respond to him because he's got some charisma. He's got his own wacky charisma. When he, after the fight, he was kind of a really interesting interview. He was grinning. The fans were loving him. He said that he wanted to become like a 265 pound version of Dominic Cruz, which was interesting. And then-- I guess it could happen. And then he had a little bit of a joke going on with pop Barry. Oh, come on, man. Yeah, yeah. So apparently they trained together. People were kind of confused. We were kind of confused on the boats about why they were-- Maybe not so much. Yeah. But I did see one thing on a message board. The guy was like, oh, you can't mess with Team Meatberry. Meat and vegetables all along. Exactly. So I think Meathead and Pat Barry, that might be their official tag team name. No, that's great. But I'm Mitryon. Awesome. Yeah. A very big win. And yeah, I'm happy for the guy. Another person who picked up a big win here is Mark Hominek. Yes. He took on George-- Actually, this is a bigger win. And for Rup, this-- Rup was kind of had the potential to be a spoiler here because Hominek was going for the shot at Jose Aldo, didn't work out for Rup, Hominek clocked him a couple times, dropped him repeatedly, and then finally just jumped on him and put him out. Literally knocked him senseless. Afterwards, Rup jumped up his feet. The ref wandered off, reasons unknown to all. Yeah, strangely. So Rup kind of staggered over to Hominek. Stumbled around like a drunk in it. I thought he was going to go and jump on Hominek and try and pull up Paul Daly and hit him after the bell. They didn't know the fight was on. Yeah, it was a good fight. The ref definitely dropped the ball. Hominek crossed him one minute, 28 seconds. This didn't get knocked on the night. That went to Courtyard. But really, this is a more impressive knock. Now, I never found Rup to be top competition, but man, Hominek just looked creepy to that guy. Hominek really looked awesome. Yeah. As I said, I mean, his striking ability is very close to Jose Aldo's striking ability. And I think that it's going to be-- I still-- Unfortunately, I still think Jose Aldo is going to beat Hominek. He is more complete. You got hometown advantage. You have that masterful striking ability. Hominek's got a shot. A legitimate shot. Jose Aldo has got a great ground game, great everything game apparently, but you don't always see his ground game. But yeah, you're right. Hominek's one of those guys. When they talk about a puncher's chance, this guy's got such amazing striking that if he was to knock out or take out-- Well, the thing was Hominek here. He's got knockout power on both hands. Both feet. He's fast, which is very, very fast. He goes by the way, he goes by the same, but he's also extremely technical and striking. This is not a guy who throws wild wing and shots. This is not Leonard Garcia or Changseung Jung. This guy picks you apart. And the thing with Aldo is Hominek said, Aldo has never faced a striker of my level. Well, Hominek's coming from a kickboxing background. He has fought other strikers before. Strikers are the Aldo level. Aldo hasn't. All those big wins have come over wrestlers. All those big wins have come over Araya Faber, Mike Brown, Cubs Swanson. Not only these guys, this strikes at the level of Hominek. That's true. Well, Gambirian, he doesn't strike at the level of Hominek guys. Yeah. Gambirian's a wild wing and shot guy. He's not a technical striker. Gambirian's got knockout power, but he's not nearly as technically evolved as Hominek is. So, I mean, if you look at-- you can have K1 matches where the same guys fight seven times in a row. And each fight could go another way. He matches Peter Erich and Sammy Schill have done. With Hominek and Jose Aldo, Jose Aldo might be the slightly better striker, but you know what? Yeah. Would two strikers fight? Anything can happen. That's right. Also, Aldo's going to want to take this to the ground for sure and Hominek's going to have to avoid that. I think it would be an interesting test for Aldo to see how well-rounded he really is. To see if he can take the fight to the ground and demand or if he's got to get into a striking fight with Hominek. And if you just talked to your striking, I mean, this has the potential to be fight of the year. Yeah. Oh, definitely. And we're going to be there. That's going to be great. So we go forward. Pat Berry took on Joey Beltran. This one went to you name his decision for Berry. A little bit of an interesting decision here. All three rounds. Beltran managed to ram him up against the cage and punch him in the face. But Berry had, whenever they were stood up, whenever he was up, he pulled him off the cage. Berry just took him apart with a leg kick after a leg kick. Crazy leg kicks. Strong ones. No. Yeah. Beltran couldn't stand up. He fell over at the end of the match and then he realized that he needed to put his arms up to look to influence the judges. So you could just see him pop up and go, Oh my God, arms up, arms up, arms up, he could barely stand. It's really funny. Beltran is a super, super tough guy. He's got one of the best chains in the division. He was really, really hurt by the striking. Now, with that being said, you know, the decision went to Pat Berry. I actually thought it was close and a lot of people think the first round to me was Beltran. So one of the judges gave a 3027. I don't see how you could say that first round. No, no, no. That first round. 2928 victory and it was very close. Now we watched. The second round was extremely close and the third round, Beltran was winning the third round solidly until Berry got him with my pulse and then Beltran just kind of fell apart. Now, the difference is that they each took half that round. Like the first half of the round Beltran was like, was in control. He was a three minutes and 45 seconds. But Berry, but Berry did more in that last minute than Beltran did that entire round. Maybe even the entire fight. So that made the difference. We actually, we were kind of surprised about the judging. Like it was kind of confusing. So we watched that. We watched the second time. My initial call was at Beltran had won the fight 2928 and with that being said, I went back and watched the second time with Steve to make sure. Because I thought the Berry had won 2928. Yeah. And watching the second time, the second round, I actually did re-score it and give it to Berry. But I still give it Beltran first, Berry second and third. Yep. Yep. And 3027. That's just not happening. If Beltran had said, oh my eye, I can't see to my mind he should have won the fight because Berry won off the iPod. It seems like every one of these close decisions, there's always one wing nut judge who does something that nobody in the world sees except that judge. There's always like the really close decision, the 13027, and you're thinking, is the judge you've been watching? Mm-hmm. Like they really got to do something. But this was almost like a bizarro judging because that judge specifically really scored leg kicks that doesn't always happen. Yeah. Because if you take away Pat Berry's leg kicks, he didn't win that fight. Yeah. He's a little people special, you know, like a stone count. Yep. Ridiculous. Well, I mean, they certainly counted for Berry that night. That's right. Now, the thing with Berry is, you took out joint Beltran, well done. He's another guy who came out very charismatic. The fans love him. Tough dude. Pulled out his father's dog tags. This is a fight for the troops. Yeah. My dad was a soldier who's killed in action. The crowd responded very, very strongly to him. I'm assuming most people at home did as well. Mm-hmm. And he had a little bit of a... He was an on-the-joke-with-meat tattoo. He said, "Mitri, when you're fired." Yeah. Now, the unfortunate truth of Berry is he has no clinch game whatsoever. That's right. He has no takedown defense whatsoever. He has a pretty good striking game. He has a pretty excellent striking game. Excellent striking game. I wouldn't say pretty good. I would say it's excellent. You know what? Honestly, his striking game is, you know, you can say it's one of the best technical strikers in the division. But once you get up there, you get some guys like, you know, junior- You can't do that against the campable Oskis. Yep. I don't think you're going to try to leg kick to the campable Oskis. I would love to see... Berry hasn't fought the Santos, has he? Oh. I mean, it's not going to happen because they're on different levels, but wouldn't that be a striking exhibition? Oh, he's great. He's great. I do think I know where Dave's going with this. I think Berry's going with it. I think Berry's... Berry's not showing his potential. Yeah. Well, he's got to get more versatile. He's got to have some kind of defense against anybody who can do anything other than strike. You know, that's the problem. When he faces a striker, awesome. If he faces a guy that can check his leg kicks, he's not going to win the fight. Yeah. Well, that's the thing. He's got to figure out how to deal with a wrestler. That's the thing. He's got to get some... Beltran's strategy is I'm a tough guy. I'm going to absorb your shots and fire back. That's exactly what he did. He absorbed everything back. Berry did. He fired back, and it was a close fight, and I give it to Berry. Well done. But the thing is you fight a guy like, let's say, Brock Lesnar, who's like, "Yeah, I'm not going to so much soak up your shots, and Morgan's going to take you down and lie on you." Yeah. I think Lesnar was... I think Lesnar would destroy Berry. Nelson, he has no ability to defend himself against Nelson, Velasquez, really, even Ben Rothwell got a good takedown game when he needs to. I think Berry would beat Ben Rothwell. I mean, you get into the top levels, and yeah, I mean, Berry would probably be in trouble. But at the level that he's at, fighting guys like, I mean, he would beat Congo. I think he would beat Rothwell. Well, even Congo, if you look at it, Congo is a demonstrate that when he needs to get a guy on the ground, if he doesn't strike him with a guy, he can do it. He won that last fight. It was the last one he had. Travis Brown. Travis Brown, where we called him down and, you know, beat him in the gut to the guys after grabbing the fences, shorts, and kicking him in the groin twice. I mean, right. Well, this bad Berry fight wasn't perfectly clean either. Yeah, that's true. That bad Berry won off an eye poke, so like, like... I wouldn't say he won off an eye poke, and yeah, he didn't win off an eye poke. His leg kicks were awesome, and then he did a great job. If he had a poke belcher in the eye and belcher in the mansion, holding against the cage for the last minute and a half of the fight, belcher wins that fight. But that's not because of an eye poke. He didn't win it off an eye poke. He beat a guy with one eye and one leg. I'll free poke him out. You're assuming he had one eye. You're assuming when somebody grabs their eye that they can't see, and you've got to give the guy credit for being the reason why that guy had one leg. Yeah. But he didn't have one leg coming into the fight. Certainly, you know, belcher posted pictures of himself afterwards. He had one eye that I was messed up. Now, Barry deserves to win the fight. And that's that. Yeah. He's not. Barry's not going anywhere for this division. In my opinion, he doesn't have the tools to beat anyone. I would like to see him move up in competition and see how he can hang. Yeah. Move up in competition and move down and wait. You know, let's see options. So then you go forward to, we go forward to Lightweight's Cole Miller versus Matt Wyman. This was expected to be close. It wasn't Matt Wyman with way, way stronger. He dominated Cole Miller for the entire fight. He looked awesome. Held Miller down, wailed on him, knocked him down, slapped him around. This was a wrestling exhibition and a ground and town exhibition. And he was doing Mongolian chops, double style. Oh, yeah. He was throwing everything that the kitchen sink at Miller. This was by far the best Wyman has ever looked. Like, yeah, this was, we even said when we were previewing the show, we were like, one of these guys is poised to break out. Yeah. And Wyman couldn't have done a better job. Yeah. Wyman definitely broke up with this. Again, one of the judges here had a wing up decision 2928. What? It was insane. It's insane. The corner one from his back by punching one of his fists with the space. Wow. This was a serious one-sided aspect. Yeah, this was a beating. So the prelim fights, they showed most of them on our Facebook.com. There's some technical difficulties, a little bit sloppy. But I appreciate the effort. The effort was there and it looks like they're going to go forward and try to do that more in the future. And the rating was actually very good, which means I'm thinking that a lot of people liked it on Facebook, watched it on there and carried it over to watching it on TV. It's a good promotion. Because every time you would say, you would say, I like UFC so you can watch it, all your friends saw that you liked it as well. Yep. It's a great idea. Pretty innovative. Yep. So it's nice to see that. They got to work out those. They got to work out the kinks. But it's a good concept. We're going to see where that goes. Wyman Lo picked up a decision over William Ferre. Mike Brown was defeated by Ronnie Iyer. Mike. This did not look good. Mike. It's really good since Jose Aldo kicked the life out of him. I think he's finished. I tried to stick with him and he's just not doing it. I think this was the fight. This was a loser leaves home fight, leaves town fight. He hasn't been cut out yet and we're days after the fight, but it wouldn't surprise me. Yeah. He's on his last lane. He's this is the fourth fight on the road that he's lost. No, he had a win in there too, I think he had a win in his last four, he's won in three. Yeah. So he lost all though. He picked up one win. He was a game-burian, lost in his new CDV and just lost to Iyer. Yeah. So not looking good, man. Well, he lost the game-burian right after Aldo. Yeah. He lost two. Then he won after that and then he lost here. Yeah. So three of the last four. Yeah. It's not good for him, which is too bad, but hey, you know what, if he can't hang with these guys, like, you know, I know he's a former WC champion. He's 36 years old. It might be time to hang it up. Yeah. I just want to go to strike for us. They're always looking for talent for sure. I just don't want to see him. I just don't want to see him go to the lightweight. I just don't want to see him become another Jens Paulver. Yeah, that's true. Yeah. So Demarcus Johnson took on Mike Geiman. Johnson made it to take the fight down, got him on, got on his back with a rear body triangle. Geiman tapped. This is extremely unusual. You don't see a guy normally crank a body triangle hard enough to- Slipped a disc. The iron sheet could be proud. He broke his back and made him humble. But actually, Geiman retired from MMA following that fight. Yeah. He seriously hurt his back in that fight. I don't even know if it was a back issue. I think he just realized he was going to get cut from the UFC or if he got cut from the UFC. Yeah. He's done. Yeah. Any myriad of reasons. Yeah. Sad for more Mike Geiman. I mean, he was definitely a competent fighter for a long time. Demarcus Johnson, just as competent, was looking good lately. Yep. Demarcus, including Mackenzie, who I feared was a one trick pony, who would not be able to take on the much better wall to use Edwards. In the first two rounds, he's Edwards completely dominated and was striking. The fight went to the ground and then he was always managed to get the top out at four minutes and three, three seconds into round two. This managed to pick up, well, submission the night for you's Edward. Okay. Makes sense. There was submission of the card. And fight the night. I believe it. Yeah. It was good. Honestly, it wasn't completely one sided. It was wacky. It was wacky. It was definitely wacky. And Cody was looking pretty good on the ground for a while until he made the foolish mistake of giving up his bag. If he's Edwards is obviously a better, more accomplished fighter, but it's not like Cody got creamed. That's right. He needs some more seasoning, for sure. But... Cody definitely needs some more seasoning. I mean, the thing is, as we said, he's a one trick pony and he could not get that choke on Edwards. Yeah. So Edwards ended winning the fight. It was ended up getting the choke on him, but once he develops a leg lock or some striking, he might do a lot better. Yeah. So the fans definitely love him. They were cheering from the whole fight, even though he was getting kind of counted. With his length, he really needs to learn how to do a triangle. Yup. And yeah, as Dave said, a leg locks arm bars. Like, get some more submissions in there because, I mean, he's got... Or get a good enough wrestling game that you can take a guy down when you need to. But not only that he needs striking and proving, like, he's got a body type that he can... He's got Diaz length. Yeah. That's right. So, I mean, you got to make use of that. Anyway. So hopefully they bring him back. Oh, yeah. I'm not sure. I think they will. He's only lost a lot. He was a fight like that. Yeah. You know what I mean? They don't kind of go after a fight like that. Right. So... Well, maybe you should take some more time off before it's next fight as opposed to, like, three weeks or whatever. Take some more time off for your next fight. It's all about that money, though. Don't spend that time in Alaska. Spend that time in AKA. He wants to... He wants to... He wants to have the time of the ATT. It's all about the money with Cody. He's got to fight and make some money. Oh. Well, you know, you're not gonna make any money with you. It's true. You're gonna go back and do some more fishing. So, going forward to Strike Force, they've got their card coming up on Saturday. This Saturday night. And this is a big one for them. This is two championship bouts. So, we've got the champion, Nick Diaz, defending his welterweight championship against Evangilista, Sidework Santos. What's half of a main event? Manside work. Mm-hmm. So... Manside work has not been doing particularly well in his last couple of Strike Force outings. He's one of them. He's strung together a couple of ways. He's two wins in a row, but that's coming off a bunch of losses. But, I mean... Well, Strike Force, that's all you need. Terrific. Actually, two wins in a row. That's one of the best number one contenders in Strike Force. Yeah, really. Now, Diaz, he's very long. He's very lanky. He's boxing. He's much better than his brother, Nate's. Yep. His mistakes are just as good. Yep. It's not a good fight for Santos. He's... He's tougher than Nate. This is a tough dude. Santos is tough as nails, but I still think... I still think... Oh, you're saying Nick is tougher than Nate. Yeah, Nick is tougher than Nate. Nick is even tougher than Nate. No, Santos is tougher than Nick Diaz. Nick Diaz is tough guy. Santos is gonna lose, yeah. I mean, you gotta give Nick... I mean, I don't want to say Santos isn't competition, but let's, you know... He can't take this fight lightly. But where can Santos take this fight to threaten Diaz? Yeah, there really isn't anywhere. Well, if he keeps on his feet and he manages to handle Diaz's legs. Diaz's length, which I think he seems to be a good guy. I mean, like, Nune's is, like, great striker, great boxer, and Diaz still held his own with him. Yeah. I'm like, firstly, I think this title shot should have been Tyrone Woodley's. But... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, what do I know? Well, you'd imagine that they're gonna go forward to Woodley or... I'm hoping... Or likely Safinen, 'cause Safinen lost that fight. Oh, I'm hoping... I'm hoping... [laughter] Well, I'm hoping Diaz gets through Santos and we get to see Diaz versus Daley, because that's a main event for strike force that's actually worth getting accepted. Oh, Daley, I completely forgot about Daley, of course. Daley Woodley and Safadin, but they went with Manside Borg. Yeah. Now, with that being said, eventually to Santos, I think his best chance in this fight is if his... If he gets taken, his wife just fights a forum. Oh, come on, man. That's not fair. You know, it's not like he's a bad fighter. He's not a bad fighter. He's a good fighter. I don't seem being able to beat Diaz. He's not going to beat Diaz. He's not going to beat Diaz. And I don't seem to be able to take the fight to the ground and beat Diaz on the ground. It's very good on the ground. Yeah, but it's not like this is going to be a walk in the park. No, no. He has to take this fight seriously. I think this one will be... You know, neither guy can finish each other off, 'cause Diaz Santos has got some very good business defense himself. This will go five rounds, and Diaz will pick up a decision. Yep. I imagine probably 40, 55... Or, I'm sorry, 50, 45, or, you know, maybe 48, 47. Yeah, yeah. I agree. That's my call for that. Now, we're in all those Suza is going to take it on with us, Robbie Lawler. This is a middleweight championship out with Suza defending his... This should be good. ... middleweight belt against Lawler. Yeah. Lawler's probably should have been in the hunt for belts before this, but glad he's there now. Great knock-off sergeant. Great striker. Jack Ray's got an awesome crown game. Yeah. This is going to be really cool. These guys have very different skill sets. Wherever it goes, it's going to dictate where the... Yeah. And that's not saying that Jack Ray's not decent on his feet, but Lawler just is knocking guys out of left and right. You don't stand with Lawler when you've got the ground beat out for it. So what do you call this? I'm going to call Jack Ray. This is tough. I'm going to go Jack Ray as well, but I won't be surprised if he gets caught. You know, the last few times Lawler has fought, I've called against Lawler, and every single time he's gotten a crushing first round block out. I'm calling Lawler. All right. Oh, it's... The fight starts on his feet. Jack Ray's proud of his, his my time. I think he's going to want to try to mix up with Lawler a little bit, just try to get a feel-fully-guys power, and I think that's going to be a total save. Oh, Damian, Maya. I think Lawler will knock him out and take the championship. All right. That would surprise me. The revolving door of Strike Force belts would continue. That's... Well, belts always revolve. Anything but the UFC where the champions are, you know, competent. Oh. Oh. In comparison. Yes. So... Like, these are all very, very accomplished fighters, but I mean, yeah, the UFC definitely has the... We're all those... We're all those Suza as a middleweight champion versus Anderson Silva as a middleweight champion. Yeah. Or the first three or four contenders in the UFC division. Yeah. But anyway, let's move on. So, Herschel Walker makes a return to take on Scott Carson, who's also making his return. Carson was a competent journeyman 10 years ago, who retired. Yeah, he's an old guy. He's coming back out of retirement to take the fight against Walker. Now Walker, he's a big draw for Strike Force. He was a famous athlete in the States. Yeah, he's probably going to be more for ratings for Anderson Diaz. Everyone loves Herschel Walker. It's hard. It's just a class act, you know. So, yeah, I'll watch this. I'll enjoy it. I'll watch Herschel win and be good. I think that they wouldn't give him a guy that they didn't think he could be. Yeah, they're setting this up. They definitely want Herschel to win and they've given... They definitely want Herschel to win. They think that Carson's going to win. With that being said, there's been some spoilers to Strike Force history, whatever they want to. Oh, yeah. Oh, look at Bobby Lashley. Bobby Lashley. What happened to King Mo? Look at Feyl. Yeah, Feyl, yeah. Things never go the way you want to demonstrate. They've not all happened the same course. So, what's your call for this? I'm going to call Herschel. Yeah. I want to see him win. I can't call against Herschel. No, either. You guys are way too classy. I love Herschel. So, I'll go with Herschel too. But Carson, he actually doesn't know how to fight. So, it's going to be an interesting test to see... First of all, if Carson has remembered how to fight in ten years of retirement, he's been keeping up with it. And if Walker's game has been kept evolving at the time, he's head off. And then we go forward to the light heavyweight. Roger Gracie, who's 3-0 in his MMA career with all submissions over some good competition, Randallman, Waterman, and Yuki Kondo. You guys have been great in the 90s. Yeah. Well, he's really 2,000. He just goes up and that's how I'm going to go. Well, I'm looking at all those guys are kind of past their prime. I mean, he was tapping heavy weights. Now he's down in a light heavyweight. I'm sure he can continue that. There's no joke. I say that kind of like sarcastically. Randallman, he's not at the top of his game anymore. But when Randallman was at the top of his game, Randallman was at the top of the game. Absolutely. The top. The top. Waterman, he's another guy. He's not the top of the game anymore. But when he was at the top, he was really, really close. And Yuki Kondo was a serious contender in his day as well. So, you know, Gracie hasn't fought what I would say the best, most modern competition. But the guys he's fighting, you pick up any kind of win over Kevin Randallman. Yeah. He's not fighting nobody. And he's tapping out guys who are bigger than him. I fully expect he can do it again. So, he's come down here to take on Trevor Prangley. Now, Prangley hasn't had the best career. He's very, very mixed. He picked up a recent win over Keith Jardine in the famous shark fights promotion. I watched that. I didn't shark fights. Now, what are your predictions for this match? I want Gracie to win. So, I'm going to call Gracie. Yeah, I want to see Gracie win as well. Prangley, just, you know, he's been in the UFC back in the day. And he's your journeyman guy. And I'd just rather see it Gracie. A lot of that going around. A lot of that going around. I'd like to see it. I'd like to see it Gracie. Subdudes. That's great. Yeah. Well, never gets old. Well, for Hodger, the key is, can he get the submission on Prangley? Prangley, as much as he's not the best. He is very, very competent. Definitely. He's not an easy guy to tap. A lot of people have tried. I would actually imagine that Prangley would manage to eat this one out. I think this one is going to go long. I think it'll be submission. I'm sorry. I think it'll be decision. And it won't be surprising if Prangley managed to eat it out. Probably win. It's a little bit better. That's a good call. Yeah. A little bit better on his feet. Not so bad on the ground that I think Gracie will be easily like snaps like off. Yeah. So, that's my call for that. We go forward to the news. What do we have for the news? All right, Dana's talking GSP for Sanders and Silva again. Yeah, I heard about that. I heard that if GSP beat shields that he's going to move up. Oh, well, if GSP beat shields and Silva beats Belle for it. Oh, yeah. Then GSP will move up for... The plan is for GSP to move up for good. They, which I would assume mean vacating the belt. Yeah. That kind of sucks because I wanted to keep that... I love the defense streak going. I love the dynasty. The dynasty is really cool. But I don't know. If that means he's going to get another belt off Silva. That's right. I have no problem with that. And here's the thing. Like, Dana doesn't usually drop stuff like this unless... He doesn't mention stuff like this at press conferences unless, you know, unless there's... Oh, yeah. He's thinking about it. He's not one to start rumors that aren't true. Now, do you think... I mean, it's not the GSP's career needs reinvigorating. But do you think vacating his belt and going up and trying to take out all the middleweights? Do you think that's good for his career? Is it too big of a risk? Well, the certainty of risk to it, GSP style revolves around his physical superiority to his opponents. And once he goes up to middleweight and he starts fighting people that a little bit of size advantage, it's not going to be quite as easy for me to take guys like Chelsea on and down or you should know... But even if he loses, he's just to go back down and dominate Walter Wade again. He could. But doesn't it just take the shine off him a little bit? Well, everybody knows that he's in the... I mean, people know that he's not obviously better than Anderson Silva. They're around on the same level. And Anderson Silva's bigger. So it's not like people are going to be shocked if he loses to Anderson Silva. Right. Well, the other thing is, though, I think this is a response to... We're afraid that GSP has been wearing his fights a little bit boringly. Yeah. So that we don't think that he's going to draw the way he used to draw. This would bring serious interest in every... It doesn't matter who he fights at middleweight, suddenly you're invested. It's something fresh. So it'll definitely be an important draw. But keep in mind, in Walter Wade, he's got shields, he's got fitcher BJ. And it condits a couple wins away. Yeah. Oh, yeah, there's definitely competition down there. It's just... He's got guys to fight in his own division. Oh, yeah, for sure. But, I mean, him moving up, they'll just have those guys fight for the vacant belt. So, I mean, it's not like... I think he's been wanting to do the Silva fight for a while. And he really loves high competition. And he's already faced... He's already faced Penn and Fitch. Yep. So, Condit, okay. But, other than that... Condit's in his training camp, too. Condit says he won't mind fighting GSP. He wants to belt it down. Yeah, but it doesn't say that GSP wouldn't mind fighting Condit. That's right. And Condit still has to get there. I mean, he's still not... It's not like he's at least a win away if not two. So, I think all parties involved really want GSP to move up. Including Fitch, Penn and Condit. Actually, they don't want to fight GSP. Fitch and Penn more than too much anyone. So, we'll see how this plays a hit. One, Penn, maybe not so much. Penn actually seems like he wants to fight GSP. Yeah. He seems like he's got to lose again. So, he can lose again. I don't need to see that again. Viralay Silva did not accept the fight with Brian Stan. Interesting. I have no idea why. That's unfortunate. I would really like to see that fight. Brian Sandi, he called him out, right? Yeah. But the thing is, it's become the fashion in the UFC movement. To call him. I don't want to lie. Stan's called him out. Liebens called him out. Bizping wanted him again. Bizping called him out. So, I mean, Wanna lie has definitely got some options. Now, with him not taking a fight, I question why he would not do that. And he's got to be either busy with his jam or, you know. I know he's planning to come back. But I guess that fight just isn't in the cards form. It's too bad. I would really like to see that. Yeah. The Clay Grita and Anthony Pettis fight is now official. It looks like it's going to be June 4th at the Ultimate Fighter Season 13 finale. That's going to set the Octagon on fire. It's going to be great. Yeah. And yeah. It looks like that would be the new number one contender. Well, it could have set the Octagon on fire depending on whether Grita fights are Grita or fights are a great Jackson's Grita. Grita's exciting. You know what? Watching Grita throw guys around and, you know, grind through guys is still fun. Grita's never born. Yeah. Zufa, they filed suit against Justin TV, you know, like website. Yeah. Yeah. And stuff. Yeah. It's pretty big. They're trying to shut this down. They're trying to estimate the cost of 50,000 pay per view buys when a pay per view comes on. I believe it. 50 bucks a pop. That's a ton of money. Oh, yeah. They may not be able to win this. I don't know what the plan is, but it's out there. Well, I mean, it's just a matter of time before certain sites like that are going to get shut down. I mean, it's like an abstract fact, right? Yeah. Yeah. Right. But eventually somebody gets caught in the sites go down. Those guys go down. But other ones pop up. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I mean, if they take out Justin TV, you know, 50 other sites are going to pop. There's already 50 or 100 other sites like that. Then they have to go after BitTorrent. They've got to go after everything. It's a tough fight to win, but I guess they've got to try and make an example. Yeah. And UFC announced a deal with TV bank corps in Japan. They're going to be putting all sorts of UFC stuff on the cell phone providers there and have an internet TV network where they show UFC cards and classic pride fights and everything. And then Dana has said to go with this that he wants to be in Japan by the end of the year. Nice. This is big. It's a big thing that he smells blood because FPG does. Well, FPG with K-1 and Dream, they're having financial troubles. They're having financial troubles. They're having financial troubles. They're having financial problems. They're having financial problems. They're having financial problems. They're having financial issues. If Dana can put on a card in Japan with Wanda Le Silva in my Miracle Crocod. Absolutely. Yeah. You know, I mean, like he's going to, he's going to bury Dream. Oh, yeah. It's over. The dream will be over. Well, and that's the thing. And then that company is having the FPGs, they're having so, like they're at the financial problems to the point now where they're not even putting on cards for months and months. FPGc comes over there. There was a few successful cards. They can wipe these guys out in like no time if it goes well. Well, they really need to put on one this year and one next year. Yeah. They've already started sucking up their talent. That's right. Yeah. I mean, yeah. That's the only matter of time. And yeah, that's pretty much all I got. All right. Well, I think that's about all we have for the week then. So thank you for tuning in. You're listening to us at 93.3C from you, and you can also find us at the Hammer MMA. Or on iTunes. All right.
