[Music] Hello and welcome to the Hammer. I'm your host, Steve. You're joined as always by my co-host. Greg, how's it going, guys? And Steve. So you're listening to us live at 93.3CFMU. You can also find us at thehammermma.com as well as on iTunes and the Zoom Store. So we are everywhere, and we are coming. The Hammer Army. We're taking over. And there is a lot going on this week to talk about it. Yep, we've got a full show for you. We're going to talk about the upcoming UFC 123. We're also going to do some reviews of 122 and the WDC. And of course, we have news as always from Steve. So let's start with Rampage versus Machita. This is going to be Saturday, November 20th. So the Saturday coming up. Rampage Jackson, Quentin, makes his return to take on Leo to Machita. This fight's been in the offing for a while. And originally thought to be for the number one contender slot, but Dana retracted that this week. I think he's having second thoughts about doing another Machita rematch or even giving Rampage a title shot. Yeah, there's a lot going on in that division. It's a fast-moving division. So to ironclad yourself into a number one contender's match is not smart. Yeah, he doesn't want to pitch these guys. No, exactly. He doesn't want to pitch these guys and also keep in mind that depending on the winner of this and the winner of Shogun versus Rashad, which has no real set time at this point, you could be seeing another Machita Shogun or you could be seeing another Rampage or Shogun. Now, if Rampage wins this and Shogun wins against Rashad, they'll probably do Rampage versus Shogun. But, you know, like almost all these guys have fought. In fact, all of these guys have fought before. Yeah. Because Rampage and Rashad. Rampage and Shogun fought and pride. Yeah, they did. Lioto beat Rashad for his original title. Rashad's a both-ified Shogun. Rashad's fight Rampage. So this is the only original unique match in this Force. These are the only two original matches. Yeah. The level versus Rampage and Shogun versus Rashad. Meanwhile, you've got Jones, you've got Bader, and you've got Phil Davis sitting on the shelf. There's tons of horses waiting for us. For Franklin, Reddy Kocher possibly to everybody. So what do we think about this match? Well, I think it's an interesting match, and I think it's a pose of some problems for Quentin. Huge problems. Big, big problems. Let's go over what we think of this. First of all, Machita is a karate fighter. He's also got an extremely good base in Mai Tai, in wrestling, in sumo, and in Brazilian judges. One of the best technical fighters in the UFC, I would say. Yeah. He's pretty much unstoppable. He just has a Shogun problem. Yes. He's fast. He's got good balance, and he's got good technical striking. Jackson is much, much more powerful than two, and he's got a good solid chin. I haven't seen too many guys take this guy out. Yeah. And the wrestling game he never uses. Yeah. That's true. But he does have a wrestling game, although he's not used it in the UFC. He's focused entirely on his boxing. Now, with that being said, with Jackson, he likes to use his counter punch. His big right hand counter punch. This is a problem facing Machita. A counter punch doesn't happen. He's a tenth level counter puncher. Yeah. He's a black building counter puncher. He doesn't attack. He counters. Like, you can't counter punch Machita because you've never had an opportunity to. Yeah. And also, Jackson has never in his many years of a mixed martial arts fighter. Not once has he ever checked a light kick ever. Yeah. That's how Forrest beat him. Yeah. Exactly. Machita is a light kicker. He's going to sit back and let kick you and wait till you throw a punch and then counter you. Yeah. Meanwhile, Jackson's best shot is his wrestling game. Machita's fairly, fairly proof against takedowns. Great takedown defense. This is a good takedown defense. He's got a good wrestling game himself. I still see Rampage being near the top of this division. But this is a horrible matchup. Not the matchup. Now, this is a worse matchup than him facing Shogun. Yeah. I mean, this is terrible matchup. This is a terrible matchup. He killed the guy in their first match. Yeah. And Machita's still a worse matchup. Machita's still a worse matchup for Rampage and Shogun. Here's my problem with this. I really don't want to see Machita win because I don't need to see another Shogun Machita match. I already know the outcome of that. I don't think Daniel will have it happen. I think Daniel will have something, something else cooking up. I think if Machita wins this and Shogun wins against Rashad, I think that he's going to go with Shogun versus with either Jones or Bader. And I think if Machita wins this and Rashad wins against Shogun, then they'll do that match. Yeah. I think everything will work out with the timing of when Shogun's healthy enough to fight and how the results of the fights in the New Year come. But yeah, I mean, any of these guys is lined up for a title shot. There's six or seven guys that with a win. You could realistically give a title shot too. So, okay, let's go to call us the fight. Machita. Machita. And you know what? I'm going to be the dark horse here and I'm going to pick Jackson. Are you serious? I'm serious. Okay. No, no, no. Don't give me one. I would like to see you having the fight fixed. I would like to see Rampage win because I think it would make the division more interesting, but I don't see it happening. Please explain. And I'll explain this to you. Rampage always does have a puncher's chance. Of course. He's got a really, really brutal right hand and we've seen before that if there's one thing that Machita does not like, Mr. T is no joke, it's a brutal right hand. That's how Shogun beat him. Rampage's brutal right hand couldn't finish Rashad. So, yes, but it definitely did catch Rashad and almost beat him and Rashad's got a much tougher chin than Machita's ever had. No, without being said. We've only seen Machita get hit once. Yeah. And that one time he went out like it was lights up. You go by Shogun. Even the rain doesn't hit Machita. Exactly. Jackson's stronger than Ramford and Shogun is. I'll definitely say that. Now, and with that, with that's being said, I figure that Machita's gameplay first fight is I don't think he's got the ability to knock Shogun on knock, Rampage out. I think he's going to dance around and like kick him. Yeah. And I think that creates the opportunity where if he gets worn down and gassed out or put up against the fence, if he gets caught, he can get caught and he can get caught hard. I think that after his loss to Rashad showed Rampage has been more fired up. He's been training harder. And this is a fight that he's wanted for some time. Even when before he had the fight with Rashad, he didn't want the fight with Rashad. He wanted Machita. No, he said he didn't want to fight Machita because he said that would be the most boring fight he can conceive of. And after the fight with Rashad with Rashad, before Rashad, he did want Machita. He thought he had a good chance against him. I figure that if his, if his rampage has got the punch his chance, I figure he's motivated. And I definitely think that Liodo's mental game with his dad saying he should retire and with him being knocked out by, by, I think his mental game is not going to be there. I think he's not going to have the discipline. I think we're apparently just going to catch him. I see that Rampage history as being different. I see it as in that Rampage did not, does not think he could beat this guy, but as soon as he lost to Rashad, he was like, this is the only relevant guy I could be to get myself out there. I think he took it more of desperation than it was confidence. And if, if you think Machita's going to guess, I don't think so. I've seen Machita get worn out twice before. I'm not, I'm not. Five rounds with Shogun. Okay. Maybe he'll get worn out, but this is not going to be a five round fight. It's not going to be. It's not going to be my mind. If Rampage wins, it's talking to be like some huge upset, I just, I, I can't realistically call him. Shogun didn't beat him in a five round wearing him down though. He beat him in a first round with a crushing right hand knockout. And the first fight I'm talking about, not talking about. In the second fight, when, when, when Shogun actually won and won the belt, how do you win? Shogun, Shogun won the first fight too. Yeah. But honestly, Machita still didn't really gas in those five rounds with Shogun. And Shogun's much quicker than Rampage is. Machita's not gassing. Like, if you think that's how Machita's going to, going to lose it, no. It's not happening. But I definitely think that people, Rampage might catch him. Okay. Yeah. And I feel that his, I have questions about where he is now from, from what his camp has been saying about, oh, we think he should be, I think we think he's done and we think he should retire. Rampage's camp is not saying that, they're saying he's in the best shape ever and he should be going for a championship. So we've got one camp saying we think our fighter's done and the other camp saying we think our fire's a world beater. I think that Jackson might have a, have a heavy ability to surprise us here. I don't think it's wise to count the guy out. He's got a punch. Chance. And I think he's going to use it. Cool. Well, I'm fully prepared to count him out. I'm not prepared to get him out. Let's get him out. I have to pick Machita. All right. Let's go. What's next? This is a good solid pick. Now we've got Matt Hughes versus BJ Penn. This is one of the rare rubber matches in UFC history. BJ Penn beat Hughes the first time. Hughes beat BJ Penn the second time. Now BJ is coming off of his two losses to Frank Yeager. He's back to be fired up and wants to get back on championship form. Hughes has looked the best he's ever looked in two overwhelming victories, three overwhelming victories, really. I would say he's the best he's ever looked in his entire lustrous career, but he's looking good. He's looking good. He's looking great, but he's looking good, but I mean, you know, I'm still not convinced that those opponents that he was facing were of the caliber. So I'd like to, I really want to see this fight. This is going to be great. This is going to really be, is Hughes ready for a shot at GSP? Now, I mean, as far as those opponents being at the caliber of BJ Penn, of course not. There's maybe three guys in the world that are one of them's named GSP, you know, he's not available right now, but in terms of, did Hughes almost pop off all made his head? Yeah. He kind of did. Yeah. Yeah. Did BJ Penn almost pop off Frank Yeager's head? No. He didn't even come close. Yeah, but Frank, he like, I don't, I don't buy all media as being, you know, the test to say, Oh, you're back. BJ Penn is the test to say to say that. If Hughes wins this, he gets a title shot. I would fully support that. He's not even ranked right now, but a win over BJ Penn, done. Yeah. Yeah. And I mean, if you're going to do it for Hughes, you got to do it soon because he's not getting younger and BJ Penn or GSP is, you know, running out of dance partners as he beats the division. So the UFC seems really invested in this to all the marketing, even the interviews that the pay per view are at the UFC 122. I mean, where was Rampage and Vachita hyping up their fight? You know, it's not happening. So this is definitely a spite that Daniel looks on a special. Now, BJ's always given huge, huge, huge problems for a couple of reasons. First of all, BJ Penn is one of the best jobbers and one of the best strikers of any division. His welterweight game is actually quite good. He's a natural welterweight. He used to cut to 155, but he is a natural welterweight. He was a champion before, as was Hughes. And BJ Penn is extremely good on the ground and extremely good off his back. Hughes likes to get guys down. But BJ Penn is on and he's got to control from top position. No, no, he's not an, yeah, I agree. I agree completely. Hughes' strength is he's much stronger and I do think he's evolved a striking game. He's added in a light kicking. He's added in a jab of his own. He has improved to striking. His striking is like the best that it really ever has in these last few fights, but you know what? BJ Penn is a striking game. It's not a BJ Penn. It's not a level. Hughes needs to look like an amateur on his team. Hughes needs to not strike. He just, he needs to, you know, have it there, but do not strike against BJ Penn. I think that's going to make the difference. I think it's going to be a very good fight. I think it's still going to call Penn. I'm actually going to call Hughes. I think that he's improved his game to a really, well, not improved, but he's, he's come back. He's looked fantastic and I think he's really hungry and ready and he's bigger and stronger and I think he's just that good enough of a wrestler to keep BJ Penn down. And now I'm actually going to have to agree with Greg here. I think Hughes is enough of a wrestler and enough of a finishing wrestler with good submissions that he's not going to get overwhelmed by BJ Penn's ground game and I think he's diversified his striking game enough that as before Penn would have butchered Hughes on his feet, now I do think Penn is an edge on his feet, but I don't think it's as well-insided. I think Hughes has got a jab and a leg kick now. I think he can hold off Penn and use his hands to set up a takedown. I think once he gets that takedown, there's not too many people that, I mean, I'm 220 pounds. I went on Hughes on top of me. They got to kill me. You know me? Yeah. They're very few. He's one of them. He's one of them. Like I would say maybe GSP is the only person I can think of who could really, you know, deal with Hughes on the ground. I don't think Penn can. And I agree, but I don't think that his, that Hughes is improved striking is enough. Like B.J. got, got schooled by Edgar on his feet. It's not going to happen with Hughes and I, I, I stopped to call B.J. Cool. What's next? We have to agree to disagree. Gerald Harris makes his return and they're just going to take on Mackey Alfalquil, gone close. Gone Cowls is a, is it making his UFC debut? He's 23 and three for his career. This guy is known for coming out of the shoot box camp, which has produced some of the biggest animals in the sport. He has a monster. Laundry, Liodo, Anderson Silva, and the Nogare brothers. All got their start in the shoot box. Gone Cowls is a finisher. He likes the kick box. He likes to Mai Tai. He likes to gab you with that plum clench and knee you in the head. Yeah. Until you go out. What's your call for this? Well, here's the thing. Harris, he's knocked out everyone he's facing the UFC, including a really deadly slam against Car Bomb. Day branch. Yeah. And you know what? This is good. I think someone's getting KO'd. Oh, this is, yeah, for sure. Yeah. I think I'm going to go get KO'd. I mean, he's got the reputation behind him. I like Harris, but I mean, coming out of that pedigree and that kind of camp, it's hard to go against the guy. I think this would be good. I mean, now, I mean, Harris is fun, the UFC. That guy hasn't. That's true. His record is really great, but Harris is like excellent every time I've seen him. I'm going to go with Harris. I'm going to side with Steve here, and I'll tell you why. Gone Cowls, as much as he's a brilliant striker, he's a brilliant striker facing a brilliant wrestler. This is true. I'm going to have to give Harris the wrestling advantage here. He overwhelmed Branch in terms of ground game and ground game is known as the Jiu-Jitsu or gone up Harris, but Dave Branch has known as the Jiu-Jitsu master. Harris crushed him in terms of grappling. I think Harris is going to be able to get go on clothes in clinches. I think he's going to wear him out. I don't think this one was going to go for a knockout because I think that Harris is going to be too respectful of gone Cowls striking. And keep it on the ground. I think he'll keep the fight on the ground and he'll wear him down. Branch as he was doing with Branch up until the point where Branch made that crazy jump and Harris literally slammed him on his head. Now, if he does that and takes it to the ground, then he's going to win there as well. Yeah. I think that Harris is going to pick this one up by decision. So then we go forward to the lightweights. One of the movers and shakers who's really underestimated but shouldn't be Phil and Mr. Wonderful Davis is going to make his return take on Tim Bosch. Now, Phil Davis, he's a four-time All-American double A competitor. He's a national champion. He's the third guy on the Bones Bader list. I mean, he's the third up-and-comer in that. Like the scary rookie trying. Yeah, it is the scary rookie trying. Exactly. It's perfect. Perfect description for it. And to be honest, try force. I don't try force. I think people don't know about Phil Davis and you don't know how dangerous he is because Bones has gotten so much attention and in a lot of ways, Davis is just as scary as Bones and some ways scary. That's not even counting me. Bones is pink tights. Yeah. And he's going to spot some more high profile flights too. Yeah. But because both Davis doesn't have the unorthodox spin-back kick striking in elbows, but his wrestling is insanely good. Here's what I think with Bones. Bones is a good wrestler and Davis is a great wrestler and it's going to make a difference. Davis is going to win this for sure. Now, Bones has improved his style. He's mixed in a lot of wrestling with a lot of striking. He likes to brawl. Again, he's a good wrestler. He's not a great wrestler. Davis, who is a great wrestler, I think he's just going to hold him down and pick up a decision victory here. I think we're all in agreement. Yep. Okay. So we go forward. Sauteropolis. Yeah. George Sauteropolis. It's time I get to see him fighting it. This might be my personal main event. Joe Lowe's on. This is going to be awesome. This is fight of the night. And I would have said that this was the sort of fight that you could look as a title eliminator if there wasn't the whole WEC merger and now these guys really, they're a little further down the cart, but a win here is huge. Yeah, it is. These guys are both on a pretty big rise. Great submission, guys. Yeah. They're both pretty well-rounded. Yeah. This could be a rare exciting submission ground battle. This will be a ground battle, I think. Lowe's on his room for his Jiu Jitsu. Sauteropolis is a clinic on the ground. He pauses guard. I've never seen anyone get to positions if this guy gets to like it was nothing. And well, Lowe's on did the same about Gabe Brüdiger a couple months ago. He just, he did that awesome ground and pound into a submission, like he was a mission of the night. Looked amazing. Like these guys can go. I don't think this is not, like the reason I say this is going to be a fight in the night candidate is because it's not going to be a lay in prey. Yeah. Like this is going to be- These guys can work. These guys can really work. There's going to be something else. So what's your call? Ah, Sato. I'm going to have to agree. I think Sauteropolis, his ground game is just that much better. Lowe's on his bed or on his feet, but I think that Lowe's on his two complacent and he'll go to the ground with Sauteropolis. Yeah. Which is a mistake. I think that's a bad mistake to make. So I'm going to have to pick Sauteropolis. I have to as well. And I'm really looking forward to it. Yeah. This is going to be a good card. This is a good card up and down, really. Yeah. Now on Spike TV, we're going to have Matt Brown versus Brian Foster. This is going to be before it and it's going to be free. Matt Brown is a pretty good striker. Brian Foster has come up with TKO victories over Brock Larson and Forrest Patts. Forrest Patts is the most interesting name in MMA. He's been subbed a couple of times, which is going to be a vulnerability. Yeah. Brown is pretty well rounded. What's your pick there? Ah, let me go Foster. Foster was the last man in replacement for Rory McDonald, I believe. I think it's going to be Brown. I'm going to pick Brown as well. I think he's going to come up with either a display decision or a sub here. Then we have the Battle of the Wrestlers. Mark Munoz is making his return and he's going to be taking on Aaron Simpson, one of the wrestling prodigies in the middle way. Now Simpson, he was on that undefeated run until he ran into Chris, into Chris Lieben, I think it was this past summer, just kicked off Lieben's two wins in a row. I believe so. Yeah. And I still think he's got the skills. Oh, yeah. Simpson's a great wrestler. I mean, he's got a lot going for him. Now, Munoz looked like he was very, very reluctant with his wrestling against O'Kami. O'Kami crushed him. Munoz is more heavy handed in my opinion. Yeah. Now, I have to pay a figure that after the defeat by O'Kami, Munoz is going to have to want to let his hands go a little bit more and show him the old Munoz. I'm picking Munoz to win this one by knockout. He's got the wrestling to hold off Simpson's wrestling and he's got the hands, which Simpson does not have as Lieben has already demonstrated to us. I'm going with Simpson, actually. I think that Simpson's a good enough wrestler that he'll, I think he'll overpower Munoz. I don't think this is going to be a very exciting fight. No, I don't think so. His first specific for Spike TV. Your analysis was good, Dave, but I still, I'm still going to go with Simpson. Okay. So we'll see what happens there. Now, on the prelim cards, Tyson Griffin is going to be trying to assassinate the career of Nick Lenz. Now, I strongly believe that Nick Lenz had that really boring fight on Spike TV. But Spike TV officials are very upset by it. Griffin is way too far down the card, being on the opening match on the prelims. He has only put out there, one to get a win, just to kind of help his career and two to get Nick Lenz out of the league. I have to say, Nick Lenz loses this. He's gone. This is a hit. This is like a sniper hit. Yeah. So that one will be interesting. Paul Kelly will take on TJ O'Brien. Ed Barbosa will take on Mike Lullo. And Kyle Priesian makes his return. If he shows down his home and provides new shows. This will be a submission fight, and it won't be all that great. And Holland will win. Yep. Cool. So we go to UFC 122, which happened this Saturday. Yeah. This is this past Saturday. And while this card coming up looks great, UFC 122, this one was bad. This is really bad. It's terrible. Carlos O'Mola made his entrance to the UFC's on TV shows with a crushing victory over Seth Pritchezoli. He showed a lot of powerful wrestling. This was his light and heavy weight debut and he looked like on Monster. He looked like the Rhino from Spider-Man comics. Yeah. I've not. Pritchezoli was like a pinks lure on the canvas. It was something else. It was a lot of disdain. Carlos Rocco picked up a win over McCrae, Kyle Nook picked up a win over Kimmons. Carlos picked up a win over Scanlon. And Matt Ushanko picked up a win over Ferreira. Third week versus also pack on the main card. This one started out kind of fast paced. Both fighters gassed. And then fast paced. And went way downhill. He went terribly slow. His neck also packed with dead on his feet. Christoff Szezinski managed to overwhelm Goan Relics with the wrestling, not a particularly exciting fight. Christoff did a win. Pointing. It was very disappointing. Games decision. Boring Emiro Sedala. Another decision victory over Sabata. Honestly boring. You know how Sam Stone's Hands of Stone? I think Emiro Sedala is like hands of felt. Hands of soft feathers, pillow hands, pillow hands of arms. So for a Mai Tai expert, this guy can't buy a knockout. He's better at drinking Mai Tai's than doing no time. No actually I'm just kidding. I like Emiro Sedala but he's going to learn to finish. He can't knock out over anyone. He's got to learn to not put me to sleep. But he's the only knock he's gotten is over Greg. Twice. He's knocked out two times. Twice. I got a bad record against him. All right, anyway continue. Dennis Seaver caught a really beautiful look. This was the only exciting fight. Nocked him when he down and then Seaver jumped on him and went to a rear naked choke showing his a revolution in his game. Seaver looked awesome. Seaver win. Submission of the night. Yep. And well deserved. He got a bonus because he was awesome. He got a submission which he doesn't usually go for. Yeah. Awesome. He's well running his game. Beautiful. Good work. Seaver's starting to look like a contender. He's got some work to do though. He's got some more ground to go. But he's looking good. Winner not so good man. He got to pick it up. You've got two losses in a row. One of the most boring fight of the year. Yeah. You need a win on your next one buddy. Yeah. Or you're in trouble. Yeah. And then Mark court takes on a commie in what may well have been the most exciting wrestling battle of the year. This fight was terrible. But you know what? This was exactly what I was afraid would happen and it did happen. I was horribly disappointed. I did not expect Mark court to backpedal so much. I expect him to be more aggressive. Honestly, I mean, I'm not surprised that he was more careful. I'm really not. There's a lot on the line. I'm not surprised. I could sum this fight up. I'm not surprised and I'm not impressed. Like it was just a really, you know, everything I was afraid to happen. Mark court did exactly what Munos did. If you're wrestling a commie and you're down two rounds, a third round, throw your hands out. You're a knockout artist. Try to knock the guy out. The commie's chain isn't that good. His defense isn't that impenetrable. He was knocked out before by Anderson Silva. And we'll talk about this more next week. But Greg Jackson's camp was telling Mark court that he was winning the fight, which is the worst thing to do when you were down two rounds. Yeah. They were, they all came out and were like, we can't believe that the judges went for a commie. I can. A commie held you down the whole fight. We're inspired. We're going to talk. Greg Jackson's camp next week. Yeah. We're going to come back for that. Now, a commie picks up the shot at Anderson Silva. This is very interesting. A commie has actually beaten the silver before in controversial fashion. And we'll talk about that when that fight comes closer, but we're going to go forward to the W.C. All right. Let's run through this. I'm going to go as quick as I can. Last Thursday night. All right. So I'm only going to talk about the fights, the main card and one other fight. So we got Dimacio Paige, lost to Demetrius Johnson via submission, guillotine choke, late in the fight. And then we move on. Benavidez, who I'm a huge fan of, beat Fabiano via submission. This is Joe Jitsu. This is Joe Jitsu. Yeah. He looked great. He looked awesome. Honestly, I just wish this guy would, I don't know, he, like he, I think he's too small for bad and weight and it's weird to say that because they don't have a flyweight division. That's good. Because that's perfect for Benavidez. He'll have the championship in that division, no problem. Because the only guy he can't beat is, is Dominik Cruz. Yeah, pretty much. So then we got Eric Koch, who I thought it was Koch, but apparently it's Koch. He defeated Rivera via TKO and this was a massacre. He looked great. He looked fantastic. He wound up getting knocked out of the night for that guy. And then Chad Mendez and Javier Vasquez, Mendez in a much more exciting fight than his fight from before, one by unanimous decision. We were expecting a really boring fight. It wasn't a spectacular, but it was good. I liked Mendez. He looked great. Did you see when, when Mendez jumped over the upkicks? Oh yeah. Into like a summer, the summer salt, yeah, that was fun. It was really fun. You could tell someone was like, look, Mendez, let's make this a little more exciting. Yeah, he almost got caught with that. Yeah, he did. Not his best move ever, but he pulled it off, but it's something I had never seen before. He pulled it off, so good for him. And then the California kid, who would I favor, beat to Kaya Mitsuzaki, Mitsuzagaki, sorry, by submission, you know, rear naked choke, round one, no, didn't seem like he was tired from the weight cut. Seemed like he handled it pretty well. He looked good. He's looking good. I'd like to see him in Cruz, and I think it's going to be pretty interesting when he does face Cruz. I don't think they're going to make him get that win. I think they're going to do him and Cruz at the first available opportunity. Yeah. I'm just going to sidetrack a little bit because there was one fight I really want to talk about here. Cub Swanson and Mackin Simmers here. The reason I'm talking about this at the end is because this is potential fight of the year. This was awesome. I did not expect that from Cub Swanson. Neither did I. Well, the thing is Cub Swanson's a striker. So put up against the right opponent. He can look good. I mean, he had no chance to do anything against Aldo. Just need him in five seconds. And his last fight was against the wrestler. So Simmersier, perfect matchup. And just an awesome, awesome fight. I don't know if it's quite the level of Garcia Zombie, but this was incredible. I think it's top five so far. For definitely top five. Actually, one striking battle. And Cub Swanson got a much needed win. Yes. Split decision, but well deserved. The wins are winning. When you have a fight this good, and that wins the fight the night bonus, you definitely saved his job. That's for sure. And then saved his job. Apparently, nobody watched that WBC show. So you guys should, if you haven't seen it, go and find that Cub Swanson fight. Great fight. It was actually a great fight. A wonderful one to watch. And I'll tell you, fights are good when you get good style match-ups, and when you have two guys of similar level skills. Yeah. Swanson and Mack and Simmersier, similar level skills, their styles match up perfectly. This fight was the thing of yours. And they were both looking to go in there and tear it up. They wanted to fight at the night. They were looking to show their names. Yeah, exactly. And speaking of lightweight guys, Roy Nelson, this is another weight, but anyway. I mean, lighter weight classes. Yeah, Roy Nelson, he's having some serious trouble. He signed a contract with Roy Jones' squared circle promotions in 2009. And now, Roy Jones' crew are saying that they own his contract and they own Roy Nelson, and they will not let him out of it. And they're in one situation? Sort of, because now he is not legally allowed to fight for the UFC. Wow. And they're asking for a lot of money to buy him out. Interesting. Very interesting. He's off the table, and he's now been going on his Twitter saying maybe he'll enter the Royal Rumble or go to WrestleMania because he can do pro wrestling. Why not? I would. I don't know if he's kidding or not. If he's just like a little Brock Lesnar slam or something. But I mean, don't be surprised if he goes and does that while he waits for Dana to work out his contract. We've got to make some money somehow. Which is really unfortunate because they were lining up that Roy Nelson Brock Lesnar fight, which would have been great for both guys. So yeah, I'm going to miss Roy Nelson in the UFC. Hopefully they worked this out. I'm going to kind of miss Roy Nelson. I mean, he's not the biggest Roy Nelson fan, but you know, his fights are interesting. He's unfortunately that his contract is valuable, but overvalued. Yeah. He's a valuable fighter than Dana Wonson, but he's not going to pay top dollar to get Roy Nelson. And he's not a belt. Like he's not winning the UFC heavyweight champion. There's no way. Dana doesn't like him that much, you know. So. Dana doesn't like him at all. I just do think it's a shame because I thought he added some to the heavyweight division. And hopefully they clear this out because they like clear this up because you know he's not fighting it. Roy Jones's promotion. They haven't done a fight in two years. You want your guys to have you want as many good potential fights as possible. You want your division to be as deep as possible. So this kind of sucks for for Dana, but it's not that big of a deal and it'll get worked out. Right. They'll throw him a little bit of cash and I'll be fine. So so on next week's show we will recap the rampage but cheated pay per view and we'll do our big discussion on Greg Jackson and a few other things. We've got some interesting statistics we want to throw at you. They might be invalidated by this Saturday, but we're going to find out. We got some of the worst. Tune in next week. All right. Have a good week guys. [BLANK_AUDIO]
