[music] Hello and welcome to the Hammer. I'm your host Dave. Join us always by my good friend Steve. And I'm not joined this week by Greg, who is absent on other MMA related chores. You listen to us live at 93.3 CFMU. You can also find us on television at... It's code you co-cable, something or other. Code you co-cable, something or another. Very professional. Here we are. And we're also on the internet at the... The Hammer.mma.com and the iTunes Store, the Zoom Store, Smoke Signals, you know, you can pretty much get our show. Pretty much anywhere. Everywhere. Everywhere. The Hammer is growing. The Hammer Army is coming. So we've got an interesting show. We've got the results from UFC 19. We've got... 119. 119. We've got previews for WC 91. And we have news as always. So let us begin in stunning fashion with a stunning card, UFC 119. Did this card leave you, Ston Steve? Do we have to talk about this? Yes. Yes, we do. It was not very good. Okay. Going to the stunning card, TJ Grant versus Juleel Polino. Now, these are the unheirs, these are the unheirs, preliminary fights. Decision. Unanimous. 3027 from everyone. Steve Lopez versus Mael, Whelan Lowe, Whelan Lowe picks up the win. Decision. Split. 29, 28, 28, 29, 28. Then we go to the preliminary Spike TV card, Matt Mitrion versus Juleel Beltran. Decision. Unanimous. 28, 29, 28. Now, the prelim special, the one hour that they show for free on Spike TV before the pay-per-view was actually pretty awesome. Yeah. And Mitrion versus Beltran. A good brawl. Yeah. Well, two big guys. This was just, you know, just a brawl, two guys that really don't have a lot of skill punching each other until one of them kind of gave up and a Beltran guy. Yeah, it was hard hitting. It was hard hitting. And they needed a fight like this after that last Spike TV special that was so boring. Just to have a couple of guys just really hurt each other. Yeah. So then ended actually, didn't that win one of the fights of the night? Yes, it did. Cool. So that one did win a pit fight of the night. There were two fights of the night. This one, one was one of them. So Mitrion and Beltran be of both blocked home with $70,000 bonuses. Well done. C.B. Dollway versus Joe Dorksin. Dorksin was not victorious here. Dollway picks up a submission guillotine, two minutes and 45 seconds into round one. That was pretty cool, too, actually. That always shows us submission skills here, this is a modified show. Was it a guillotine or something you threw him in and they were rolling around, rolling around, rolling around, and really tried to sink it in. And then during Dollway's post-fight interview, he was just like, "I can't believe that worked." And I couldn't either. It was great. It did and it got him a submission of the night. So Dollway walks in with another $70,000. We go back to the heavyweights. Sean McCorgal takes on Mark Hunt, picking up a submission by Komora at one minute into round one. Mark Hunt did not really impress. He came in. This is like, he had like four or five losses before he came back to the UFC and he just he didn't look good. I don't think he'll use him again. Well, he's the only fighter in the UFC who can say that he's lost his last five professional fights in a row, which is an impressive record. No other fighters ever been able to do it. Not Mustafa Al-Turk, not Joe Madsen. Not Keith Jardine. North Kart, not Keith Jardine. Mark Hunt is in the league of his own. Now his previous losses were against guys like Alistair Overeem and Fedor and like really, Sean McCorgal. Really top-notch competition. Now he's losing to McCorgal. So I think the running's on the wall for Hunt. It might be time for Hunt to think about a different career. And then Tiago Taveras picks and takes on Audenwood, picking up a submission by a standing guillotine choke at three minutes and forty five, seven seconds in round one. This is actually pretty impressive choke too. This is what happened against the cage and Audenwood looked to be very, very badly put out by this. Yeah and Taveras, he was actually a fairly last minute replacement on this card and he looked good and actually, he's usually on pre-limb fights but he's been doing pretty well. He's slowly been making a name for himself. So if you think that round of submissions was they going to set the tenth of the night? It did not. That was what four fights on the pre-limb special, right? Yes. These are all for free on Spike TV. They were all good fights. Yeah. They had me hyped up looking for the issue. The thing is going to be fighting his card so we go forward to the main card. And this is what everybody got who paid fifty dollars. Melvin Guillard defeats Jeremy Stevens by split decision, 29, 28, 29, 30, 27, a lot of booze for this one. This was a close fight but it was one of those fights that was a close fight that managed to also be a little bit boring. Really boring. Dana White actually hyped this up. I watched the pre-show press conference and he was like, "This is a guaranteed fight of the night." And on our show last week, this is probably going to be fight of the night. Very, very wrong. Well, these two fires are so explosive that they have a lot of knock up potential and a lot of ability to hurt each other. But with that being said, I told Greg and Steve, before we watch the fights, this is one of those fights where you know Greg Jackson told Guilliard, "Do not take any chances." And Guilliard, they made numerous references to the fight. They was fighting like a fencer, which basically means he was leaping in and then leaping away as rapidly as possible. Or as I like to call it, the Caleb Starnes approach because he got the heck out of the way of all danger. And if that meant not throwing a punch, instead he backed off. The difference between Guilliard and Caleb Starnes though is that Guilliard always stayed facing. Yeah, he stayed facing and won the fight. Yeah. So, I mean, well done sirs. I was disappointed. I actually thought that if Guilliard could win this fight, I mean this should have been the kind of fight that should raise a guy up, not to contender status, but up to another level. And neither of these guys deserve anything after that fight. These guys got leveled and they all waited by this fight. Then we go to Sean Shirk versus Evan Dunham. This was a fight where an up and coming Dunham was expected to defeat an aged veteran to get to a contender status. It did not play out that way. Shirk displayed his phenomenal wrestling, throwing Dunham around. Dunham kept going for chokes for his wonderful guillotines. Shirk managed to power out of all of them. Dunham just kept losing more and more of his chokes. Shirk opened them up with a brutal elbow. Dunham was bleeding very, very badly throughout rounds of the lead. That was a one, first round. Two, three. And finally it goes to a decision, 29, 28, 28, 29, 29, 28, a lot of booze for this one as well. Shirk picks up the win, but Dunham was going after him really, really hard in the throughout the latter part of the second and the all of the third round, which meant the crowd was very, very behind Dunham, very, very against the most shark. I'm calling this one of the like screw jobs of the year. There is, I'm Shirk did a good fight. I like Sean Shirk. He did not win that fight. He didn't win it by, I don't think any of us watching personal scorecards. He didn't win according to the crowd and Dana White flat out said that Dunham got robbed. He did not win that, Shirk did not win that fight. Dunham definitely won the third round. I'll give Shirk the first round. Absolutely. It comes down to the contested second round. Shirk got a couple of good takedowns, but he also got threatened with two very, very dangerous submissions and throughout the last two minutes of the round, Dunham was on his feet, punching him and punishing him. I do not see how you can score two takedowns as even to two minutes of being beaten up and kicked against the cage. I know one person out there who could. Who do you think it was? Cecil Peeples. Yes. So Cecil Peeples has always said that kicks aren't very damaging. So when Dunham kicked Shirk in the face, and Shirk collapsed against the cage, that wasn't as damaging as Shirk dragging Dunham's leg until Dunham fell over. I'm of the mentality that two people out of the hundreds of thousands of people who witnessed that fight believed that Shirk won that second round and they were both judges. It was a really upsetting actually and I think that UFC and Dana will look at Evan Dunham's loss and not penalize him for it and move him up. I think Dunham will move up. Dana was pissed in the press conference following. Well, Dunham was a golden boy and this is one of those few times where both guys got made stars of this. Shirk did look impressive in the first round. Don't get me wrong, I'm saying they didn't deserve the win, but Shirk fought his hard end. Shirk fought his hard end. It was a good fight. Dunham fought better. I called this fight of the night. Did it win? Yes it did. Oh, because they were two fighters of the night bonuses. So this was the second one. Each of the fighters picks up $70,000. The least that Dana could do for Dunham after he lost his undefeated record. Yeah, it's really unfortunate, but hopefully they'll keep moving Dunham and Shirk up the card and both guys come out of this without any real loss of status. Yep. So Matt Sarah takes on Chris Lidle next. Lidle picks up unanimous decision victory here, 30, 27 from all three judges. This was really a story of a guy with more reach, punishing a guy with less reach. Absolutely. Every time Sarah went in Lidle managed to clock him with his right hook. Sarah was looking bruised and abused. But Sarah managed to power in and land a bunch of good shots. Lidle definitely was feeling it after the after this fight. Honestly, I would have called this one fight of the night on any card but this one. And you know, with with Mitryon and Beltran doing well on Spike TV, which Dana desperately needed and Dunham getting robbed, which Dana was definitely going to reward the guy with something. Mitryon and Sarah, we're not going to get it. I'm sorry, Sarah and Lidle, Lidle, we're not going to get it, but honestly to me, this was the most entertaining of the fights. It was pretty cool. It was very much a standoff fight. There was like, they just stood up and they just boxed the entire fight. And it was entertaining. I enjoyed it. Awesome kick and a couple of spinning punches. Yes. I liked how dynamic the the shirt Dunham fight was more, which is why I liked it more. But this was definitely a good performance by both guys. I think Sarah was not very smart by staying on his feet because that's not really, he's a tough guy. You know, we knocked out GSP, but that's not his strength to box with Chris Lidle. That's not a good game plan. Well, he's he's got really good takedowns and after the first round went, became clear he wasn't going to pick up the boxing game against Lidle. I did think he should have gone for the drag takedowns. He went back to his box and game in round two and then he tried his wrestling game in round three. But at that point it was too late, you know, you need to be in a strategy of, oh, that didn't work. That was time I tried playing beat. Well, I think of this mentality is they went out there and box and box and box and Sarah didn't play to his strengths and he still didn't win quite the night. Like, that's just not smart. Yeah. Well, then we go to the light, heavyweights. Antonio Rogario, Nogara, takes on Ryan Bader, this one was expected to be a good solid fight. And when you figure this would be Bader's coming out party, it was Bader abused Nogara with a lot of his own impressive boxing clip, Nogara, hard, but the real story was how easily he was able to take little note down. Whenever little no tried to get some of his own boxing offense going, Bader got the drag knock down and couple good takedowns, including a really, really solid one, a good solid double leg, Bader definitely picked up and definitely deserves a unanimous decision victory here of Nogara. Absolutely. Now here's the thing with Nogara. I mean, he's considered one of the best in the world and this is two fights in a row where he's just been out muscled and out everything, essentially, like there was the Jason Brill's fight and now this one and I don't know, he really isn't showing all that much or either that or his competition is better than we think. Well, his competition has been better than we think in Bader. In terms of Brill's, he was definitely unexpected of that one. Now, little Nog has never had the reputation that Big Nog has had. Definitely not. Little Nog has definitely never considered the star of the family, Big Nog is. Little Nog is mostly known for he's a tough guy, good chin, good Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, good boxing, very, very well rounded, but he was never the guy in pride who took on the top competition at Light Heavyweight and tore up the world. That was Shogun, that was Wanderley, that was even Officer over him at one point. It was never a little Nog. That little Nog is the kind of guy he'll beat anyone but the top contenders as he beat Jason Brill's in the end. He did. He did get the win. He's not quite able to go over that hump, he'll abuse any of the B tier guys because he's so well rounded and he can use any of those tools, but the A tier guys are just a little bit better. So his role in UFC now is a gatekeeper? I think he is a gatekeeper at this point, unfortunately, for a little Nog. But Bader is coming out and they're already talking about the eventual matchup between him versus John Bowen's Jones. Yeah, I don't think they'll do it until they're both champions. Exactly. There's been rumors about it, but I think that's more just people saying the fight that they want to see. I don't think it's really in the UFC's best interest to put those guys against each other right now. These two are the two best contenders in 205. Do you do by young contenders? Young contenders. There's them, maybe to a lesser extent, Mr. Wonderful, Phil Davis, but these guys, they are going to fight eventually, but it's too soon. They need to fight when there's gold in the line. So with that being said, Bader, very, very impressive controlling a guy like McGara. So it shows that he's ready to take on some really top competition. Well, really. I mean, the guys in that division that are arguably higher than Nogara on the depth chart, you're looking possibly forest and then Rampage, Machida. That's all we got. And Shogun. Yeah, but they're tied up. Yeah, they're tied up. So I mean, you have to figure that the winner of Shogun and Rampage is, or sorry, the winner of Rampage and Machida is going to go on to fight for the title. The loser of it is probably going to have to fight Bader. Perfect. I would love to see it. You know, either the loser of that or the loser of Shogun or Shogun is going to fight Bader at some point. That's the class that this young guy is in now. And honestly, the loser of the other fight is probably going to fight Bones Jones, so. Really that late heavyweight division's always been strong. It's really interesting. It's really strong. And then we go forward to the main event. Frank Mir versus Mirko Philipovich, Crow Cop himself. This was expected to be a stand-up war. It was not. It was the worst fight I've seen here in a long time. They came out in the calendar, the announcer said, "Frank Mir is a man who's been searching for a new strategy. His ground game hasn't been as impressive lately. His striking game is questionable. What can Frank Mir do to reinvent himself from the heavyweight division?" And he found the answer. The answer was, "Wall install." He just held Crow Cop against that fence for so long and did absolutely nothing. I swear, weren't they having a conversation at one point? At one point in round three, Crow Cop said something to Mir and both fighters began to laugh as Mir held him up against the wall. But do you tell him a knock-knock joke in the middle of the octagon? It may well have been. So no one knows what was mentioned there, but both fighters were laughing, which is probably not exciting. There's an intense fight. This fight was ugly. It was slow. It was boring. I missed a big chunk of the second round. I just passed right out. It was just terrible. It was an atrocious fight. Mir was able to muscle no-gare or muscle of Crow Cop because Crow Cop comes in very, very light for the heavyweight division. Mir had a 30-pound weighted advantage on him. With that being said, God save your soul, Mir, if you ever try this against anyone else in the division, because Velázquez, Carwin, Lesnar, even DeSontos, these are all high, high caliber wrestlers who have a lot more power. They will power out of it and abuse you. But yeah, Merco was not able to do it. Merco looked terrible. I know he came into this fight. I know the Crow Cop came into this fight on short notice with the hurt, eye, all this stuff. Did he do anything in that fight? No. He threw a couple of his Hail Mary kicks, but he came back with everything. They were close. It's almost like he was doing them just for show. I've been saying for a long time, you can't throw high kicks unless you set it up with low kicks and punches. You have to abuse the guy with low kicks so he drops his hands and then you can kick him in the head. Did he even want to be there? I don't even know. But with that being said, he rushed in in the third round because it was losing. He started lining a couple of really good shots. Mir looked rocked. Mir fell back. I think Philipovich overestimated how hurt Mir was. He ran forward and at that exact moment, Frank Mir managed to get his knee up. Oh no, he grabbed the top of his head and pulled him into his knee. Almost like it was an attempt at a Mai Tai clinch as if he would have learned from his team, Sit Yo Dong, which is famous for his Mai Tai, but not quite. It was like a yellow belt, tried a Mai Tai. Oh, it was ugly, but it worked. Yeah. As Mirko literally ran his face into Mir's knee, much as Damien Mai did against Mark Court's fist and then just toppled over. Yep. And that was the fight. So that was a knockout. And despite the fact that it was the only knockout of the car, Dana did not choose to award this one with knock over the night. He said the knockout was too pathetic to award mine to you. More or less. And then Mir said, you know what? It's better to win in a terrible fashion than to lose in a terrible fashion. But she does have a good point. And Mir himself was like, yeah, this really didn't deserve to be knock over the night. Even though there weren't any other knock over the car. There's no argument there. Even even default was not enough for Frank Mir's knockout game in this fight. So Dana White in the press conference afterwards, he was like, I've got no clue about Frank to talk the stuff he does and then fight like he fought. It's just frustrating. And it's true. It's that fight. Just those guys did not. That's not a main event fight. Well, I mean, it wasn't a main event fight. That's a problem. It's a main event slot, but it wasn't a main event caliber fight. And the thing with Mir is he talks a great fight. But in the cage, I have to consider him suspect because car wouldn't aid him alive. Lesnar, I don't think he's at the same caliber as now. I mean, he caught a lucky submission on Lesnar, but Lesnar's been working a submission game on crazy since then. And he's way more powerful. I think Velasquez would abuse Mir badly because Mir just doesn't have the power and the strength. And I don't think DeSantis, I think DeSantis's submission defense game is good enough that I don't think Mir could take him. That's why I hear he's been thinking of going down to light heavyweight and that might be a better move. Well, with that being said, though, he's got to cut a lot away. He's got to drop at least 30 more pounds to get to the point where he can cut to light heavyweight. So, I mean, I'm just about done with Mir. Yeah. Well, and really, I mean, all they need to be said is that Rocco Crocop got knocked out and it didn't deserve KO of the night. That's how bad this was. And is it really? I guess the only benefit to the UFC is that nobody bought this show. So probably nobody saw it. Yeah. And I just want to just want to repeat that. Mirco Crocop, one of the most legendary strikers in the heavyweight division, one of the most legendary strikers in mixed martial arts, was knocked out with a knee to the head. And the guy who knocked him out was like, yeah, I don't deserve a knife. I don't knock out of the knife for that. On a card where there was no other knockouts, no other choice. There was there was no option. The option was either give to me air or just be like, no one deserves the money. I'm giving it a charity. Yep. And then it was like, no one deserves the money. So really what it came down to is the one hour free prelim special that they put on, was all free TV, was really fun for fun fights. And then it was a pay-per-view full of disappointing battles and poor judging and just a big goddamn mess. It was bad. You know who knocked out Crocop in really impressive fashion? Gabriel Gonzaga. That was awesome. Gabriel Gonzaga. He has won a fight since then, but whenever he comes out, they still play the clip of him knocking on Crocop. Yep. That's on UFC's top 100 fights. Do you know why he's picked that? Is in the top 20 for best fights ever for Gonzaga out Crocop Crocop? That's a beautiful highlight. Do you know who didn't have a beautiful highlight against Crocop? Frank Mayor. Yes. Terrible. So we go forward to the news. All right. There's not a whole bunch of news. So I'll just go through it pretty quick. Um, jail son instill hasn't said anything about his steroid suspension. He no showed an appearance on MMA live this week, and apparently the word is he's going to try and plead his case to the California Athletic Commission to try and get his one year suspension lowered. But isn't it strange that we haven't heard anything from jail son who loves to talk? Well, I think that it's jail son who knows he's guilty of sin. When he's talking about I'm trying to get my suspension lowered, not canceled. That's right. He's not arguing that he was on steroids. He's just saying, please don't punish me as harsh as you're punishing me. Other people with steroid suspensions were only suspended for three to six months. So to me, it's pretty much an admission of guilt. Yeah. I know he knows he's guilty. So, uh, let's see, a UFC signed Stephen Strew to a four fight contract this week, which is pretty cool. Makes sense. Strew is definitely one of their, uh, he's becoming a thoroughbred in the heavyweight division. A young guy with a good, with a good future. They can rely on him to provide entertaining fights on spike and on the main card. And that's all, that's something the heavyweight division desperately needs right now. He's like, he's one of the perfect guys to put on the free TV card. Uh, what else we have here? Oh, Jigart, Masashi, he just won the dream light heavyweight tournament in Japan, which is great for him because he hasn't, I mean, he had a pretty devastating loss to King Mo, uh, earlier this year in America. So it's a good thing he's still winning out in Japan. Well, absolutely. And as I said for some time that Masashi is one of my picks for the future of the life of the division, I think that, you know, everyone loses one sometimes. Yes, he lost to a very, very dominant wrestler, but don't think that Masashi's out of the game. Absolutely. He's able to abuse pretty much any light heavyweight in division other than a couple of the top, top names, and you can you fairly account King Mo in that list? And I mean, honestly, King Mo just lost. So I don't think that I think Masashi could be back in that title in strike force in short order. He's been back in strike force not fighting in Japan for a promotion that is probably what probably hasn't been paying people and may not even be around this time next year. The demo for EA Sports MMA, the video game, it's there's a demo for it on Xbox and PlayStation on the store right now. And actually there's a list of the guys you can be. It's Alistair Wolverine, Bobby Lashley, Jason Mayhem Miller, and Jake Shields, even though Jake Shields is in the UFC now. Well, I mean, it makes sense because he was in the strike force and he was as a contact with this game. Plus, if there's one person I've always wanted to be and admired, it's Bobby Lashley. There's times I just walk around, I'm like, I wish I was Bobby Lashley. Well, he's a legend in the sport of MMA. Yeah. He's a legendary figure. Why would you put Jake Shields in the game? He's really boring. Well, I'd be a great fighter, but who would ever want to be Jake Shields? You could reprise the amazing fights that Jake Shields and Mamila have had in the rivalry of one fight. Oh, there's that fight from like a year or so ago where Jake Shields just kept taking down Mayhem Miller and putting me to sleep. And you can also, you know, reprise the incredible fight between Alistair over him and Bobby Lashley. Which hasn't happened yet, which may never happen because they're both in the cost. But check this out, apparently, and doesn't say how to do it here, but unlockable in the demo. So in the free demo, there's an unlockable character of young Randy Coacher. Young Randy Coacher, not old Randy Coacher. Yeah, you can be him in his prime. Makes complete sense. That's kind of cool. So it's kind of strange since he's a UFC fighter, but there's all this contract stuff. He signed up for this game back before. The good thing about this game, though, is old Randy Coacher is in this game as old Randy Coacher as well. So I mean, he's there as a young version and his old version. Can you fight them against each other? I would hope so. We're going to have to find out. Yes. We'll do a special show about the demo about this game whenever it comes out. The reason that this is news is because the UFC game is so important to the marketing of UFC as a company, Strike Force is desperately hoping that the EA MMA game becomes a cross promotional blitzkrieg juggernaut because this isn't a Strike Force game, but this isn't a Strike Force game, but it has Strike Force fighters and arenas and all that stuff in it. If EA markets the crap out of this game and everyone's playing it, then it will really help Strike Force and the public eye. So we knew their brand, otherwise, as I said before, Strike Force has got about 13 minutes left in his life. 13 months. Then we're going to be talking about them not paying their fighters as everyone flees to the UFC. Now, we've got a card coming up this tomorrow night, today's Wednesday night. Tomorrow night, WC51. So this is going to be an exciting fight card as all the WC cards are. If you felt like you were left down by UFC 119, which I was due to an end versus tomorrow. It is on versus. And in Canada, it's on the score. And on the score? This is free. This is free. So what we have, preliminary cards, Bantamweights, Demetrius Johnson versus Nick Pace, Antonio Benoils versus George, Tyler Toner versus Diego Nunez, Chris Hordecce, the Polish hope of Canada versus Ed Rockcliff, that's notable because Hordecce used to be considered one of the greatest light heavy lightweights of the division, and he's had some disappointing outings so far, so we're still waiting for us to show up for him for shows. And his last two fights were a disappointing loss, and then the disappointing win. So we're waiting for him to show us what he's made of. Mike Brown, the former champion of featherweights, takes on Cole Province. He's on the prelim card. He's on the prelim card, which is a very, very big demotion for him, but. He's one of the best in his division in the world, and a great tough wrestler and a great fun to watch. And he's the rest of the finishes. He's an excellent, excellent fighter, and actually that just shows how stacked this card is, so the guy like that is not on the actual show. So there's a good chance that one will be shown though, if the fights go fast. And then featherweight, Zhang T-Quan versus Pablo Garza, this one is important because this is the first Chinese national to make his way into American MMA, and the UFC and Zufa has great, great hopes that Zhang T-Quan will be the guy who breaks open the Chinese market as Bizping broke open the UK market. He's half as successful at approaching the Chinese market as Bizping was. This is just great. This guy could be worth millions, billions really, so. Now we just have to see if you can fight. If you can fight, and if you can win, and if you can be entertaining as well, which is, I mean, Bizping's not a winner, but dudes entertaining. So, let me go forth to the main card, Leonard Garcia versus Mark Hamanek. Leonard Garcia was the winner of a fight of the night against the Korean zombie chains on Zhang. Mark Hamanek was the winner of "Fight of the Night" against, oh, Yves. Oh, that's a good burger, I think? No, no, not him. It was on a recent WEC card, and they had this awesome start having a mental lapse there, but they had an amazing... We're both having a mental lapse. We can't remember what he's last name, but... Amazing. This is Garcia. This will be an extremely good stand-up brawl in my opinion, because that's both of these guys like to fight. Then the Korean zombie, the other half of that fight of the year with Leonard Garcia, takes on George Rupp and another, and by the way, both of these fights have the potential to be "Fight of the Night" if not "Fight of the Year." These guys are gonna... All four of these guys are gonna go. I like to see the zombie win this one. The zombie I really see when you show how tough he is. But Garcia versus Hamanek, I mean, very, very excited for that. That's Hamanek. That's Hamanek. Such a fire of exciting fighter, and Garcia's got such a tough chain that they match up well. Phantom White, Miguel Torres, takes on Charlie Vellancia, Torres is in the title hunt for Bantamweights, so keep an eye on him for him. This is big for Torres, too. He's a really talented fighter, but he really needs to make a comeback. And then Lightweights, former champion Jamie Varner, takes on his nemesis, Donald Sroni. Varner wants to get back into that title pitcher. Sroni wants another shot at Ben Henderson, so these guys are basically fighting to see who's got next after Shalaroos. Yeah, this is a pretty high-stakes rematch. And also, I mean, there's been trash-talking behind the scenes and everything like that. Well, these guys have a legitimate dislike of each other. These guys don't like each other, and they both can put on really fun fights. So if you want to see two guys who can fight, who can really go, who really can't stand each other, that's always makes for an entertaining fight. And the thing about these guys is, both of these guys, even when it's not like Rashad and Rampage, where Rashad is like, "I hate this guy, so I'm going to do everything I can to win this fight without any risk to myself," Donald Sroni is going to come all her trying to choke Jamie Varner to death, and Varner is going to come out and try to punch Sroni into next week. Oh, it's going to be great. And he came into next week. So, I mean, yeah, this will be a brawl. Featherweight champions, Jose Aldo, defense's title against Manville Gambirid. Jose Aldo is an incredible striker. His leg kicks are phenomenal. His flying knees are phenomenal. His punches are very, very solid. This guy is like a small Anderson Silva. Yeah, he fights almost exactly like Anderson Silva. He's the same camp as Anderson Silva, he's also phenomenal on the ground. Manville Gambirid, he's got a tough, tough chin. You can't underestimate his wrestling, which is very, very powerful. He can definitely put Aldo down, and his strikes are some of the hardest hitting in the division. If he can somehow miraculously catch Aldo, there's a very possible he could win this fight, but I mean, Aldo's a tough guy to keep up with. Well, I mean, it comes down to if Aldo is his evasive best, he's going to pick Gambirid apart. If Gambirid comes up with that one great punch or that one great takedown where he can get to a down position and pound, he's going to knock Aldo's ceiling because Aldo, as good as he is, he's small, he's not punch-proof, and Gambirid has some of the heaviest hands in featherweight. I think it's going to be great, but betting against Aldo at this stage is just crazy. This is just another guy on Aldo's hit list. So what are your picks with his fight? Aldo. So you're picking Aldo. I'm going to have to pick Aldo all as well. So those are our calls for that. For Varnar vs. Seroni, I'm picking his Varnar all the way. I think Varnar's coming back hungrier than ever. I think Seroni's not quite the guy to take on the top competition. I'm going to go Varnar as well. For Torres vs. Valencia, I got to say Torres. Torres. For Chang-sung-Zung vs. Rup. I'm not actually a really big huge George Rupan, so not only do I think he's going to lose, but I would love to see the zombie beetle. Well, as much as I said that, Chang-sung-Zung has so far shown himself to be one-dimensional. I think Rup has got enough tools in his belt that I think he's going to pick up the win here. Garcia vs. Hamanek? That's tough. Garcia is a really tough dude. He's tough to put away. I'm going to go Garcia. Well, Hamanek is a much more explosive striker in my opinion, and he's got a good ground game too. I'm picking Hamanek for this one. I've got a side with my fellow Canadian. I think Hamanek beats Garcia. And I've got to say, so this fight is this whole car WC51 is on Thursday night for free on TV.
