This week's show starts with a rundown of UFC On Versus 2: Bones vs Matyushenko.

We discuss some news, including a Roger Huerta knock out of the night.  Then we preview the upcoming UFC 117: Silva vs Sonnen with our calls for the event.

[music] Hello and welcome to Hammer. I'm your host Dave. I am joined this week by my good friend Greg. Greg, how's it going guys? And unfortunately, Steve could not be here with us this week due to obligations to the band metric, however he does send his warmest regards. So we've got a fairly interesting show that we're going to talk about today. We have some small news. We also have some reviews of the Bones vs. Maggie Shankle pay-per-view and a quick preview of the upcoming Anderson solo vs. Chaol Sonn event. So let's start, Greg, with the UFC Live on vs. which was this past Sunday. And it was a pretty good card, which is going to run down the card pretty quick. Middleweight division, Rob Kimmons beat Steve Steinbus by unanimous decision. And then Lightweight division, Charles Oleviara beat Darren Elkins by a submission and that was in round one. That was in round one. This was submission over the night. Yep. Oleviara is hard to judge a guy based on a 30 second fight, but he locked this armbar in beautifully. Oh yeah, it was nice. This one actually made the, didn't this make TV, I believe? Yes. It was actually aired after the Howard fight. Yep. Yeah. So this guy was impressive. Really impressive. Didn't speak English very well, but. You could find a translator. Couldn't find a translator for it. A bit of an awkward moment, but it was still pretty good, really, a really sharp young prospect there. Middleweight division. Stan beat Mike Messianzo by submission and Brian Stan is a Greg Jackson guy and Greg Jackson was pretty pleased with how he went. And then Lightweight division, we got that one actually one fight of the night too. Was that that one? Was that unusual? Because that one didn't air because it went a little bit long on live TV. They didn't have no time for it, but that one did win a fight of the night. Yeah. I saw an interview with Jackson afterwards that he was, he was pretty impressed with Brian Stan. He's pretty high on Brian Stan. So as you would be high on all your prospects, I would assume. So then we got Light heavyweight division, Igor Prokraiak versus James Ervin and Prokraiak one. Another submission. This is in round one. And then. This one was a little bit unusual. Evens are, I, Parker Jack isn't really known for his like submission mastery. Yeah. So when you get tapped out in like 30 seconds in round one, normally if there's multiple tapas in a card, I said this for strike force to say this again here. I question whether like the top fighters are competing at the level of talent they need to be to be in like mainline shows. And I think that's what the issue is here. I don't think Darren Alkins is at that level. Well this was James Ervin. But. Or Darren Alkins. Yeah. Well, the thing is, I mean, Igor are lost to Matcheshenko previously, right? So I mean, he's not really a big contender. Yeah. But anyway, moving on, welterweight division, we got Matt Riddle versus beat Demarcus Johnson, which I was a bit surprised about. That one was a surprising one. We thought Demarcus was going to do OK for himself. Yeah. However, he did not. This one was actually a fairly solid win for. Yeah. I heard, well. TKL in round two. Didn't actually get, I didn't actually get to see this one. But from what I heard, it was Matt Riddle was dominating the entire fight and he won by TKL in round two. So yeah, that kind of sucks for Demarcus, but he'll be back. He's got a mixed record. Yeah, he does. He's kind of inconsistent. He wins and loses. Sort of like the Tyson Griffin of the welterweight division there. Anyway. On Christmas, Jacob Volkmann beat Paul Kelly by unanimous decision. Bit surprising. Volkmann is a good fighter. It's just he's kind of like, because he can't be the top guys and he gets up to that level and then he loses, it always makes him look a lot more underrated than he actually is. Yeah. He also doesn't have a very tough nickname. Yeah. Well, I mean, who can help that? You know, he actually is a relatively good fighter. He'll be almost any other, you know, average fighter. Yeah. Just getting over that hurdle to get into the top contenders is probably not something that he's going to wind up doing. Anyway, so then we go to the lightweight division and this was a really surprising result for me at least. Takanori Gomi knocked out Tyson Griffin admitted into round one. Yeah. Dissurprising decision for me or for Steve, we call Gomi to win this one. And as I said, Tyson Griffin, I love him. I think he's a great fighter. I think he's a great guy. He doesn't have finishing power. Gomi does. Gomi showed it. You know, he came out very fast. They traded some punches. Yep. Tyson landed a couple of shots. Gomi backed up. Gomi landed a couple of shots. Tyson went out. Yeah. Exactly. I mean, I really expected more at a Tyson for this one. I thought he was going to win by decision. No. But I actually didn't particularly care for Tyson Griffin's behavior after this fight. No, I didn't either. It was pretty clear he got knocked out. He went down with his hands down and landed straight on his head. He didn't cover himself at all. He looked like he was out on his feet. Yeah. So, I mean, you know, and then after he bounced up and said that he wanted Dana White in the ring to overturn the decision and this and that, it's like, man, sometimes you get caught and you got caught. Yeah, exactly. And I mean, it's not like you're losing to a scrub. I mean, it is tacking Ori Gomi who's got one of the, his reputation for being one of the best lightweights in the world. So, yeah, Tyson, you got to relax, buddy. Get back and he's going to win his next one, whoever they put him against. But he's another guy who's having, who can't get over that hurdle. Same thing with Wolkman. So, then we go back to Walter Waite, Jake Ellenberger, defeated John Howard by TKO. I was surprised with this one. I thought the Howard striking game would be enough because I thought his crap, his grappling game was good enough to keep Ellenberger off when it was not, Ellenberger got him down at will. Yeah. Used to size. Used to size, just beating him up. So, doomsday gets stopped for the first time and Ellenberger picks up another surprisingly. Doctor stoppage on this one. So, this one was brutal too. Yeah. Howard's eye was swollen up to such a degree, it was actually painful to look at. Yeah. Like, the doctor let him go into round three. Part way through round three, they were just like, you can't see the other stoppage. It was even worse than when Damian Maya had his nose blown against Sanders and Silva. That was terrible. Like, it was really bad. He looked like E.T. It was crazy. Even Joe Rogan said, mentioned that he looked like E.T. at one point. That was kind of funny. And then we go to Yushinokami, who defeated Mark Munoz by split decision. This was a close one. This was idiotic. This was not close at all. Okay. It wasn't a close one. Yushinokami clearly like came out one first round and one third round. Yeah. Mark Munoz in the second round caught him with one beautiful punch and clipped him and maybe he got the second round. But the thing with Y, I say that Yushinokami won this fight decisively and it wasn't close is this. Mark Munoz's strategy was clearly, I'm going to take the fight to the ground and pound him. Yep. That's how he got blocked, how he got countered, Yushinokami, out punched him on the feet and stuffed him every single time and beaten him up and every single stuff. This was a clear case where Munoz was out fought because his strategy was bad. Yeah. Now, another Cecil People special on this one. Too sure. Oddly enough, the judge who gave it to me to Munoz was Cecil People's. Yeah. So, I mean, like, I don't know, maybe I think he must have seen the thought that the black shorts were more narrows. You know, like, I don't see how you could possibly say that the guy who got stuffed and looked gas and was beaten up and like, you know, had one good flurry in the second round. Give him that round. Sure, if you want to. But like his strategy was clearly ineffective. Yeah. He didn't incorporate the right strategy. I mean, he should have, Munoz is really good at striking and he should have gone to striking. He really shouldn't have been running after the takedown after he gets stuffed a few times. Yeah. This is the thing. Like we said last week, we're like, okay, Munoz has got heavier hands. They both look like good wrestling games. We think the wrestling game will cancel self out. We think Munoz will win with his hands. Basically, yeah. Munoz kept going for the wrestling game over and over and over again and kept looking like a fool as though as O'Kami stuffed them over. Those single legs were just atrocious. Yeah. Like long, long, two minute dragging attempts for O'Kami- Gassing himself. Punching them. You know, and then like the one time he had success, he let his hands go, knocked O'Kami down. Mm-hmm. But then the second he got O'Kami down, he went back to trying to go to drag singles. Yeah. He's not going to get the single. Go and punch. And I can't understand why his coaches didn't say, hey, it's close fight. You got the second round based on your strikes. Go with there and punch him. Yeah. You know, O'Kami doesn't have a rock hard chin. Hit him. See if you can put the lights out. Because it's too close and we don't want to go to the decision. I don't understand why, why he came out in round three and decided to play for time. Yeah. It was just a poor strategy. We were all yelling at the TV. Yeah. I'm still too thoughtful because I like Munoz and Munoz disappointed me. Yeah. But when you learn your game plan, man, like if your game plan is not working, adjust it on the fly, this frustrates me to no end. Don't come in married to your game plan. Yeah. You know, if your game plan doesn't work, get divorced. Have another plan. Yeah, exactly. Come back up. You should still do it as well. Because he's got two game plans. That's why he's not saying here does well. Because he's got two game plans. Yeah. Well, all the best fighters have multiple game plans, you know. And when they're one game plan doesn't work, they incorporate another one and then they adapt. Because you never know what a fighter is going to do in there. And that's what destroyed Bisping when he faced Wanda Le Silva was the fact that he walked in there and tried one takedown, Wanda Le just shoved him aside. And then he was like, oh no, what do I do? I'm screwed. He saw his face just draw his heart just sank into his feet. Anyway, so yeah, so that was fun. And now we got the light heavyweight main event, my favorite fighter or one of my favorite fighters, John Bones Jones, absolutely embarrassed, Vladimir Machishenko, about two minutes into the first round with a crucifix, how easy bones won this one. I thought the bones was going to win. I called Maggie Shanker just to be contrary. Yeah. But I mean, like, you know, I said, Matt, you shankers a saw test because you should be a good wrestler. He went for a lunging punch for God knows what reason. And Jones just countered with a beautiful single leg, got to the crucifix and just executed his elbows again. So are you, are you willing to admit now that bone John Bones Jones is just a great, great wrestler? I've always thought it was a great wrestler. I just thought that it would like a solid wrestler might have a good ability to counter his wrestling. Matt, you shanko with his lunging punch like it is almost like a Damien my moment where he went lunging after Nate Markhart. I honestly, you know what? I honestly think that Machishenko despite that punch, I still think bones is just that much better of a wrestler than Machishenko is. Well, you know, bones is definitely very, very strong on the ground and you could see how easily he passed the crucifix he lost in and just got her right back. Oh, yeah. His wrestling is awesome. But I mean, like, to me, the point with Matt, you shanko was don't try to take the guy down and don't go lunging at him. Use your wrestling to try to stay off the ground to see if you can maybe like generate some heat on your feet. Yeah. So Pat Temple a bit, see if he's got to like check his gas tank work on him, you know, because Machishenko is a workman. Yeah, for sure. He showed this fight. No, no. Way to have a chance to show it. So anyway, that was that was the card in a nutshell. Bones said in, I saw an interview afterwards with Bones and with Greg Jackson as well. And Bones said that he's ready for a top five contender. He said he's ready for a top five contender oddly enough Jill Rogan came into the ring and asked him who he wanted. Bones said he'd take anyone. That's a good response. Then Joe Rogan said, no, come on. Who do you want? And he's like, I'll trust Joe Silver. They can make me a fight. Man, they're begging you. Call a name, make a fight and then oddly enough, in the post fan entries, he did call a name. And the name he called was James Tony. What? Really? I didn't see that one. He said that he didn't think he'd previously had said that he didn't think James Tony was taking his training seriously. Yeah. James Tony responded in the very diplomatic fashion of calling John Bones Jones a homo. Oh my God. Saying that if you ever saw him at a UFC event, he would slap him. Oh, man. Jones said, I never meant to offend him, but I guess I did offend him. He can talk about slapping me, but if he does try to slap me, he's just going to get arrested for assault. How about he makes it past Randy Couture and then we settle it in the octagon? So if... I don't want... I don't want Bones in a freak fight. I don't want him to freak fight either, but I mean it would definitely raise his profile. And if Tony makes it past Couture, it's realistic. Yeah, Tony makes it past what Couture legitimizes him. But yeah, with that being said, if he wants a top five guy, Franklin's out with an injury, force is out with a degree injury, Machita signed to Rampage, Shogan signed with... Yeah, every shot, yeah. Tiago Silva is sitting there with no dance party. That's true. He's off the shelf. He's not injured. Let's see what he can do. Not quite top five, but have to do, I guess. He's not quite top five, but he's definitely top ten. Yeah. He's definitely a brilliant, brilliant striker. So I mean... I'd like to see that. Yeah, let's see it. So we go forward to the news, and I'm going to do this this week because Steve is not here. So that was another Jones news. We also had the cast of the Ultimate Fighter season was announced this week. There's no real exceptional, like, you know, the Kimball or anything like that, where we need to discuss it. Just like solid journeyman fighters, and we'll see about... Another guy with green hair. Another guy with green hair. Another guy with red hair. Yeah. You can join Chris Leavin and the Brotherhood of Red Guys. Brother. Brother. You go forward to Demi Maya, lost his fight with Alan Belcher at UFC or to headline the UFC Fight Night Night Night Night 2 because Belcher is out with a... I injury. He's already detached on him. Maya now has a new fight with Mario Miranda. Mm-hmm. He's a very, very good knock-o-guy, very, very tall for the division, and he does have a bit of a ground game, so there'll be a solid test for Maya to see if he can take on an up-and-comer. Yep. But he's going to 118 and someone's got a headline UFC Fight Night 22. Marcourt and Paul Harris is getting pushed back off of 118 and going to Fight Night 22. I don't have a problem with that. So, makes perfect sense. The other little bit of news. The UFC sued Belator, the other fighting promotion, or one of the other fighting promotions, over a sports agent named Ken Pavia, Ken Pavia, who has fighters fighting in both promotions. He was getting news from the UFC, like, "This guy's injured," or "We have this timeline in mind," and he was sending that forward to Belator, saying, "Well, my fighter can't be available because he might have a UFC date," or this or that, and apparently, the UFC feels that this now enabled Belator to get unfair advantage. Yeah. So, they're suing Ken Pavia for leaking this, and they're suing the Belator to stop using their intellectual property. So far, the emails that they've released look pretty damning for Ken Pavia and for Belator. Yeah. We'll see what goes for it with that. I don't like Belator. I've watched a couple of their fights go. They're not on the level of UFC, but they do have some- They're not on the level, but they're back to the point where UFC's starting to start to try to mess up. Yeah. They're definitely on the radar. I think they're going to wind up taking over Strike Force in a false part. It's like if a UFC starts suing you, you know you're like- Yeah. You know you've made it. You've made it coming after you. Yeah. So, they're not worried about Strike Force, they're worried about Belator. Yeah. They've got a lot of guys go through there, like, Huerta and McDonald, et cetera. Speaking of Huerta, Huerta was actually involved in a street fight. This is on TMZ.com. He was at a club in Texas, another guy, a very big guy, sucker punched a woman in the back of the head. Real class guy. A man identified as Roger Huerta, chased down the thug and beat him up, knocked him out pretty convincingly. It was devastating. That was some scary footage. This guy was on the ground bleeding from his head. It was something else. Yeah. Very, very impressive. Roger Huerta's people have come out and said that he has no comment about the incident, but he feels very protected towards women. So as if Roger Huerta did not have enough female fans, now he's beating up women abusers. Well, as he should be. As he should be. I think they're going to give him a black cape and a, you know, carve a lightning bolt on the side and send him loose to him and Anthony Hardock who we call Robin for now. So well, like Ocho Senko and Tio, well done Roger Huerta. I actually proved this. I think, yeah. Oh, yeah. You've got martial arts trading, using it to beat up guys, you beat up their girlfriends. Probably a good use of your time. Yeah. So then we go forward to the last little bit of news for the day, Ryan Coater is making his debut. Yep. He has been signed with Strike Force and he'll be fighting on August 13th against Lucas Stark. Unchallengers. Unchallengers. Coater is Randy Coater's son from his first marriage, and he's going to be fighting at 155. His amateur record is five one and one and he's won all of his fights by submission. So like his father, he's a very, very good ground grappler. We'll see what he can do. Well, the pedigree is there. So the pedigree is there. I think this is interesting because this is the first son of a fighter to enter, which is. Yep. Let's see like, you know, like I don't necessarily like that as a sports model, but. Well, if he's good, I mean, it's not like he's a son of some flash in the pan. I mean, this is Randy. Good tour. Fair enough. So I mean, I can definitely see his son making some waves. So we go forward to the fight night or the fight coming up tonight on Saturday. So we have in this fight, we're going to start with the prelim card. Killer Bee Ben Saunders makes his return against Dennis Hallman. Now, this is actually kind of a bad fight for Killer Bee, Hallman is an incredibly good wrestler with a very, very good submission game. In fact, he holds two tap out victories over Matt Hughes, combined time for both submission victories, 40 seconds. That's impressive. So I mean, Ben Saunders got handled by John Fitch. Yeah, that's the thing. I mean, Ben Saunders, this is a horrible matchup for him. I mean, anyone who saw that Fitch fight knows that Saunders, unless he's really improved his takedown defense and wrestling is going to get just owned in this match. So I'm going to have to call Dennis Hallman for this. Yeah. We go forward to Steven Strove back on the preliminary card after his defeat at the hands of Roy Nelson. He's going to be taking on Christian Warcraft. I don't know anything about Warcraft, so I'm calling Strove to win this one. He's a six foot 11, so he's hard to handle. This is kind of a freak fight. Not freak is in, you know, but just the freaky looking dudes fighting each other. I mean, I like Strove, so I'm going to call him too. Yeah. So we go forward to the Walter Waits. Johnny Hendricks takes on Charlie Brennan. Light heavyweights Tim Boach makes his return to take on Todd Brown. And then in light heavyweights still, Mr. Wonderful Phil Davis makes his return, presumably Miss Pink Tights to take on Rodney Wallace. Wallace is coming off of two losses of his last four. So if he wins this one, this is winner go home. I really don't think he's going to be Phil Davis. I think Phil Davis is going to crash him. Phil Davis is an extremely out of grappler, brilliant NCAA wrestler. So he's kind of like the poor man's bones and I think he's going to handle Rodney Wallace pretty easily. Dustin Hazlett makes his return in Walter Waits against Rick Story. Hazlett's another really good submission fighter, but story is a pretty strong wrestler. Yeah, this is a close one. This is going to be a close one. I don't know. I guess I'm just going to call Hazlett. You're going to call Hazlett? Hazlett's a good call. His submission game is awesome and he's good off his back, but I think that it's going to be hard for him to get story to the position so awesome and his story can definitely hit it a little bit harder. So I got to call story for this. So we go forward to the main card, heavyweight Roy Nelson takes on heavyweight Junior DeSantis. And Dana White has announced that the winner of this fight gets the winner of Kane Velazquez versus Brock Lesnar, so this is the title eliminator. The thing is, I definitely agree with if Junior wins, he gets a title shot, I really don't know about Nelson. Nelson's won three in a row. Yeah, one of them was the ultimate fighter finale. Two of them were. He's only won one fight in USC, like let's not put the crown in his head yet. I mean, he beats Stephen Strove, so that gets you into the title mix. Well, I mean, well fair enough, but you know, he's looked impressive in his wings. He's going after people. He's not people out. He's from some very, very solid wins. And I mean, he'd be a tough guy for Brock to handle because he's a very, very big dude. You know what? I think that Brock could handle Nelson pretty easily. I think that Brock does, well, Brock does what Nelson does better and he's in better shape. Like, I mean, yes, Nelson has amazing cardio for what he looks like, but he's not Brock Lesnar. Fair enough. I really am so worried that Nelson is going to, you know, smother dos Santos or just get lucky and actually pull this one out. I'm, I'm really hoping dos Santos wins this and I'm calling dos Santos because he should win. Well, the Santos has a couple of advantages here. His hands are way, way better. Oh, yeah. And Nelson struggled with Arlofsky, who's that's true, grapple them or sort of outstruck them. With that being said, you know, Santos is actually pretty good off his back too. I mean, the Nogares. Oh, yeah, I mean, it's not like he just trained striking. But with that being said, Nelson's got a really, really hard build to handle. He's got a pretty hard chin and he can punch as well. Like he's got knockout power. He's not particularly brilliant striker, but he can, he can hit you on it. He's got a hard chin when Stefan Strouve hits him. When junior dos Santos hits him, we'll see. Fair enough. I got to call Nelson, man. He's on a bit of Wonder Street. Can you mean? Oh man. The fact that it looks like he's doing well. A big country that I think is going to get this point. I don't, I don't dislike big country. I just don't think he deserves a title shot and it would really, really suck. But, you know, I don't think it's that premature. I think he's a former IFL champion. He's winning fights. He's been winning him impressively, you know, and everyone else has got a dance partner. Yeah, that's true. You know, Nogares tied up with Meer. So, yeah, I just, if he takes the title shot away from dos Santos, I am going to be so angry. I mean, Santos definitely worked so hard to get there and I hope he wins. But I mean. He's my pick to be the next champ. Yeah. Well, him and Kane, I want to see them fight at some point. That's going to be a good fight too. But I mean, I think that Lesnar will handle Kane and I'm just, I'm really, I'm, I like dos Santos. I'm going with my heart on this one. Okay. Like, I want dos Santos to be the next champ. He's awesome. So then Matt Hughes makes his return to fight Ricardo Almeida. Matt Hughes did not look particularly great in his last fight in Almeida. It is an incredibly good grappler. The general feeling is that Almeida is the favorite in this. What's your feeling? I'm calling on me. I'm actually going to disagree with this. I think Matt Hughes, Matt Hughes is extremely good at submissions wrestling. He's got some, he's improved a striking game a bit. I don't think an Almeida can tap him out. I think he's too tough and too focused to be tapped out by Almeida. I think he's going to be able to pull this one out. Well, we'll see. I think it's going to be close. It's definitely not going to be a Hanzo Gracie fight. I mean, this is going to be a real, I mean, not to take anything away from Hanzo Gracie, but the guy was old and by the end of the fight it looked like a joke. Yeah, the fight looked like a joke by the end. This is not going to be a joke. I really think Almeida is going to throw everything he's got at Hughes and I think this is Hughes's time to lose another one because he's been on a streak, hasn't he? He beats Sarah. He beat Hanzo Gracie. So, so then we go forward to Clay Guida versus Rafael de Sanios. What do you think? It's going to be a good fight. Sure enough. Going to be very enjoyable. This is a fight in the night candidate, I think. Guida is a fun guy to watch, but with that being said, of his losses, the vast majority come by way of submission. Oh, yeah. Yeah. De Sanios is a human origami machine. He is. He is a submission master. I think he's going to wrap Guida up and just tap him because Guida's not good on it on the ground. To be honest. Yeah. I mean, he's going to catch him first, but I mean, I think, I think I'm going to call De Sanios as much as I hate calling against Clay Guida. I think I will call De Sanios. I just don't. I don't think it's going to be quick. I think this is going to take a while because Guida is just an energy. He's going to have to wear him down. He's just a fireball. He's going to throw it around, but I definitely think that if the fight goes to the ground, which it almost certainly will. It will. Eventually it will. De Sanios is going to just, you know, you don't want to be on the ground with De Sanios. Yeah. Then we go forward to perennial headlight or perennial welterweight contenders, John Fitch versus Tiago Alves. John Fitch says he's the kingpin of the division, GSP might disagree. Yeah. He's the kingpin of the division other than GSP. Yeah. And Tiago Alves is coming off of his most recent loss of GSP, but he's an extremely eyed up striker. He's also coming off. Very, very good. He's also coming off potential brain damage. Very, very big. Very, very strong for the division. What's your call here? I'm going to call Fitch Alves is huge and really awesome. But Fitch is just nobody other than GSP has is able to solve Fitch. I mean, he's, he deserves the next title shot. The guy is probably the best other than GSP, the best fighter in the division. We'll see what shield tests to say about that. That's a fight I'm absolutely dreading. I really don't want to see Fitch and shields, but it's, it's, it's, it's on the way and it's bound to happen. You can't call against Fitch unless he's facing GSP. Well, I mean, I, I definitely respect the intelligence of that call. And I mean, I do think that the shields Fitch fight is going to happen at some point. It'll be a nightmare to watch. Um, however, with that being said, for this particular fight, I am actually going to call uh, Taggle Alves. Now, Taggle Alves, even GSP wasn't able to hold him down and he was able to land some shots, but GSP just has such a good repeated takedown game that he was able to get the fight back on the ground. I don't think that Fitch can hold him down for, for the full three rounds because he's so strong. I think he's going to be able to land something at some point. And once he starts wearing Fitch down, Fitch tends to mentally, once he starts getting hit, not be there. This is true, but keep in mind, the GSP fight was five rounds. Fitch only has to hold him down for three. And Alves, there was one point where Alves got on top of GSP in five rounds. And GSP had control of this fight from start to finish with the exception of that one minute long break. And that was a five round fight. I definitely agree, but I think that Taggle, I'm calling Taggle Alves because I think that he's got enough of a counter wrestling game to be able to stand up. Fitch isn't a finisher. I don't see him getting consumed by the knockout. I think that, you know, all it takes is one punch for Taggle Alves and I think that's something I want you to land the punch. And then we go forward to the main event, Anderson Silva, the Spider versus Chale. The loser who's going to lose, you know, I used to, I used to really hate Chale, Sonnen, but he is hilarious. Like the one liners he pulls out are just, just hilarious. I mean, he's, he's doing such a great job of hyping up this fight and actually convincing a couple of people that he might actually win. I say a couple because there's probably only two or three people who thinks he might win because he's not. I mean, Anderson Silva is going to destroy him, but I got to give him a lot of credit for really talking this fight up and selling some tickets. He's, his promotional abilities for this fight have definitely been like off the charts. He has drawn a lot of attention to this fight. It might well just be the best selling Anderson Silva main event of all time. With that being said, you know, he does have some good skills that match up well against Anderson Silva. He can take Silva down and Silva has been proven to be vulnerable to that. But Chale, Sonnen is also vulnerable to being tapped out by guys on the ground. Anderson Silva has a couple different tools in his belt. He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt. He can't happy out from the bottom. Yep. He can ground to pound you and he can knock out in your feet. And as I said before, you can talk as much as you want to talk, but at the end of the day, you got to fight Anderson Silva, dude. Well, the thing is, first of all, in order for Chale, Sonnen to be Anderson Silva, he has to first catch him. And then he has to, you know, dodge the quick lightning strikes that Anderson Silva has. Then he has to get him to the ground. All three of these are pretty improbable. And he has to hold him down. Then he has to hold him down. 25 minutes. Yeah. Then he has to hold him down. And then he has to avoid a submission. And I mean, I keep going back to the Marquardt fight. Chale, Sonnen, yes, on top, the entire match dominated Marquardt in the wrestling game, but Marquardt ripped him apart from the bottom. At the end of that fight, Sonnen could barely move. This is a five round fight. That was a three round fight. And this is Anderson Silva. That was Nate Marquardt. There's no way Chale, Sonnen is going to be able to do this. And he doesn't have a great submission game either. So it's not like he can get him down and submit him. He's going to have to grind him for five rounds. Yeah. Not happening. Yeah. Well, I mean, I think it's extremely unlikely for Chale, Sonnen to win this. I think it'd be like, I definitely call Anderson Silva to win. How do you call Anderson Silva to win? Knockout. Knockout. Yep. See, now my thing is, I think that as much as Silva hasn't said anything, I think he's going to be annoyed enough at Chale, Sonnen's trash talk that he's going to do to Chale, Sonnen away the day to day in Maya. I think he's going to play with him for five rounds, humiliate him, slap him around, and just kind of let it go to the situation. You really think he'll risk Dana firing him? Because Dana, you know what, if he does this, Dana will do it. I think Dana really will do it. If Anderson Silva goes and embarrasses his opponent, once again, and embarrasses the sport again and embarrasses the organization, Dana will fire him. Dana does have teeth when he makes threats. So I think Anderson's going to take this one seriously. Well, we'll see whether Anderson Silva decides to go for a quick knockout, where the top scene was still on and out from the bottom or where he just plays with him. He's definitely going to win the fight. Yeah. Now, most likely we're going to do a quick poke scheme on Saturday, or I'm sorry, Sunday morning it'll be when we do the most. Yeah, it'll be pretty late in the bottom of the night. Just because, you know, whatever happens in this fight is going to be controversial. Yep. So we're going to try to get to you guys a little bit earlier this time. And then you're going to be able to find us at 93.3 CFMU. You can also find us on iTunes as the hammer or our website, thehammer.com. That is the hammer with two A's, H-A-M-M-A-R, and I know it's a tough one to spell, but we are working on getting a new one. Yeah, we're probably going to be changing that soon in the website as well. So thank you very much for tuning in. Have a good week. [BLANK_AUDIO]
