UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin was one of the most entertaining cards in recent memory, so we spend a big part of this week's show talking about the fights, and the fallout.

Then we hit up some news including recent updates on Shogun Rua, Rashad Evans, Fedor, and....Dave Batista?

[music] Hello and welcome to the Hammer. I am your host Dave, joined as always by my good friend. Greg, how's it going guys? And of course, Steve. Hey. So you're listening to us live at 93.3 CFMU, and you can also find us on the interwebs at thehammer.com and also on iTunes. And also now on CFMU, CFMU is on Koji Go TV on channel 288, if you're in Canada. So give us a listen, and we will be promised to be entertaining as always. So we start with UFC 116, the big card from this Saturday. This one is trending high with over a million buys so far. So it's looking like this is going to be one of the biggest shows that they've had. Second biggest next to 100, you think, or very like that? Probably. With possibly Rampage being there as well, Rampage or Sean. So this show is very popular, we've probably watched it, so let's talk about this one. So let's begin. Let's start with some of the fights that you didn't see. First let's start with Walter Waits, Daniel Roberts takes on Forest Pets. This was a pretty solid fight, it went to split decision, Roberts picks up the win, 29, 28, and 28, 29. So a good close fight here between these two guys. Then we go to the Heavyweights. We have wrestler John Madsen versus Carlos Vamola. Madsen is best known through his career in the last season of Ultimate Fighter. I'm sorry, this season before the last season was better known. This fight was on the prelim cards. This was on the prelim cards. And he's also known for beating the amazing Mustafa Al-Churic. Yes, Madsen picks up the win, 30-27. That makes it 3-0, so there was some speculation after his 30 wins, but whether it was time to move him up the card, maybe give him a fight with fellow tough alumni Brendan Schwab, unfortunately, Dana White had this to say about the fight. Oh, yeah. He said it was terrible, and the only people who were in the arena in the first or second fight, so maybe like 1,000 people, and then the arena for 15,000 people saw this fight, he says no one else is ever going to see this fight. Don't expect to see it on UFC Unleashed anytime soon. Yeah, they were supposed to be terrible. We actually called it last week. We were just like, "Oh, John Madsen's fighting, that's going to be terrible." We were right. He's not an exciting fighter. I mean, hold down a lot on top styles, and does not work that well for a fan. So Dana has said that this is the worst fight he has ever seen. One of the worst fights. So Madsen, you're going to have to find a lot more exciting style than the Spike TV matches, my friend. So then we go forward to Kendall Grove versus Goryan Relich. This one aired late in the show after the Brock Lesnar and Ching Carbon fight. This one also went to split decision with Grove picking up the victory. 30, 27, 28, 29, 29, 28, I actually thought it was really dull. Other than one good up kick that knocked down, it was a great up kick, but that was the only thing throughout that fight. Yeah, this is another one, a lot of grappling, a lot of Goryan trying to get the top position and Kendall fighting off his back. A lot of governing, but yeah, I think I fell asleep at one point. Yeah, so not the most exciting fight from Mr. Grove, however, he does pick up another win, so he continues his winning ways and probably keeps his job. Well, you can't cut a guy after you're after a win, right? And that's what Kendall's been banking on for a little while now, I think. I think Dana's itching to get rid of him. He's actually got a bit of a streak going on. He won that one. It's a good way, because you and he got a gun against your head. No, unfortunately, he was supposed to be on the Spike TV prelims, he wasn't because he badmall Spike TV, probably not the best idea to do as a former the Ultimate Fighter graduate from Spike TV. He was a winner at that. Well, actually, that's actually ironic. He said that he didn't like how Spike TV was all about excitement and drama and all this and why that should be such a big deal. Yeah, excitement never makes money. His fight was... He was very non-citing. There you go. He sticks by his... He's got his principles. He's not going to give you an exciting fight. He enjoyed the prelims for a while, but he did win, like, you know, not to fault a dude who won. He's not a bad fighter. He's a good fighter, but I mean, his very defensive style can be boring to watch sometimes. So, when we go forward to Gerald Harris versus Dave Branch, Dave Branch making his UFC debut, he is known for his excellent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. David Branch is also known for being a boxer in the 1960s that he really does look like a 1960s. Wait, if I was to sketch out what I thought a boxer from 1960 would look like, it would be this guy. Oh, yeah. Awesome. Like, the sort of receding hairline, the mustache, and all the dudes who lay there. So, Gerald Harris is a very, very serious wrestling talent. He was going to this fight two wins straight in the UFC and seven straight wins overall. Dave Branch is an undefeated prospect. Unfortunately, it didn't last for him. They had a couple good exchanges with Harold getting some really good control. Harris was able to get him on the cage and on the ground a couple times. Branch went for submissions, but Harris' wrestling was too good. On the third round, Harris had him pushed up against the cage. Dave Branch tried to do what looked to be an attempt at a flying arm bar. He joined. No, no, no. He was jumping up to pull him down into guard. Yeah. Pull him down into guard. Okay. And then Harris held him up, stepped back, lifted him, and power bombed him. Spine buster. Right down in my head. And actually, we're instantly, when it happened, Greg goes, oh, I guess we know what knocko that night is. Yeah. I was, I was actually, you can't get knocko the night for like a wrestling move. Yeah, you can. Well, what I love about this though is, is the class that Harris showed by, he knew that he was out the second he hit the ground and he was getting ready to punch and he stopped. And that's, and that's rare. And that's, that's, that's, Harris deserves a lot of props for that. So, Harris, definitely a, one of the knocko the night, one of the most impressive slams I've ever seen, three straight wins in the middleweight. That's enough to move you up from the pre-lin car to probably this car. Definitely, because it's, because it's fine there, on, on Spike TV, when they run you at a time. They had extra time and, yeah, move them up on the TV. He's, he's definitely, he's definitely on the spot on TV. Interesting little note about Harris, he said that he actually held up on the punch because sometimes when you punch a guy and he just triggers as adrenaline and wakes him up. Oh, well, okay. So, he's like, oh, this guy's out, I don't know. So he, so he's either like very, like a very nice guy or very smart. So. Yeah. So either way. I'm cool with that. And he also said in his post-flight interview, the commentary noticed that he still had his hands taped from the fight, and he said it was because he wanted to leave the fighter's area and walk around the arena to go get programs and souvenirs for his fans at home. Yeah, it's cool. So, because he doesn't have a ticket, he's got to have his fighter gear on, but he won't let him back in the fighter's area because no one recognizes the poor dude. That's funny. So. There you go, Charles Harris. Good friend. No. Then we go forward to the pre-limbs on Spike TV. We start with Seth Petrizelli versus Ricardo Romero. Seth Petrizelli is the very colorful man who murdered Elite XC, the promotion. Yeah. It's for future reference. If there's any fighters listening, don't go on the radio and say that you were paid not to take a guy to the ground. Yeah. Fixing fights really doesn't go over too well and it really doesn't end up in MMA. So definitely he killed the promotion he was in that had him do that. Unfortunately in the UFC, you actually do need to fight. So Seth came in very colorfully. He wanted to bring a little person, a little person dressed like him. There's a little mini-me and Tom Lawler for some crazy ring entrance and Spike TV nicks the whole thing. Yeah. Spike TV was like no. He didn't even allow him to do it for the way in either, so the UFC mixed it as well. Oh, I kind of like that stuff. No, no. That's bush league. That's bush league. Then Ricardo Romero is a very, very solid top control wrestler. Now Pedro Zelie came out very, very fast, a lot of strikes. He was definitely going for the knockout, throwing bombs, Ricardo Romero. Throwing double action. Yeah. Those were, those were really funny. A couple of action handles. Ricardo tried to get him down a couple of times, he defended some takedowns by double action handles to the back of the head. Finally, in the second round Ricardo Romero got on top, kept grappling with him, Seth Pedro Zelie squirmed. He did not help him. Ricardo Romero managed to lock in the submission. This was an armbar at three minutes and five seconds in round two. And I've seen a lot of fights, a lot of submissions, but when this armbar, whatever he got put on, Patrick Zelie screamed like a horror movie blood curdling scream. Screamed and writhed. It was actually, it was actually kind of uncomfortable. You see, don't see. I was just like, unless Paul Harris puts a heel hook on you and then just stays on it for two months. Oh, brutal. But yeah, I was just like, oh man, that guy's, oh, that's horrible. So very, very impressive submission. Ricardo Romero was remarkably ecstatic after this fight. He said that he wasn't happy with his own. But yeah, who let you are? And then he was very, very sad with that he wasn't as good as he wanted to be. Yeah, he won the fight. He looked good. He took a lot of damage. And he's just like, I was kind of disappointed. The fight was not really that great. Oh, wow. Oh, well. Oh, well. Ears in the ring. The guy won. He looked good. There's nothing to be ashamed of. I'm tired of the fighters who win saying, oh, I'm not happy with resolve. I wanted, like, if you just won. I wanted to vaporize him with one point. Yeah. I wish I could do that. It's one thing to be humble. It's another thing. Like to give yourself some credit for the fight. Yeah. Like, humility is good. Don't be an arrogant, you know, person about it. But at the same time, don't come in and run down the fight that you just want. Yeah. Don't come down and say, oh, I'm not a very good fighter. I can do win the fight. You're making sure it's going to look worse and makes everything look good. If you win the fight, you can say, yeah, I've been training really hard on my submissions. Thank you for my training team. Next I want to fight this guy. You're probably going to move up the card. I think it's kind of more arrogant to say, oh, this wasn't my best performance because you just beat a guy. What kind of credit are you giving the guy you just beat? It's like, I wasn't at my best, but I still whipped him. Patrick's Ellie was putting up a good fight, too. And now you're just saying, oh, well, if you, you know, I didn't do that, like, it wasn't that impressive. I'd only beat that guy poorly. Yeah. Mike Russo did the exact same thing against Tom Daffy. He bothers me so much, and he was like, well, I wasn't completely dominating the guy through the fight. He put up a fight, and it was supposed to be a boring three minutes of me lying on top of the guy. Like, instead of trying to be an exciting fight where I actually had to win, like, this is not a bad thing, dude. And unfortunately, for Carter Romero, what he does not seem to understand is he was in the spike prelims because Seth Petrizelli was fighting him. Yeah. Yeah. After this comments, he's not going to be in it next time. He got a win. He got a dominating win. He got a dominating win, but he's not going to be in spike TV. He's going to be down the prelims card. You can call that. I'm booking that one right now. He's going to be fighting with kennelgrove and prelims for some time. I can't see them downgrading him for a dominating win. I just really can't. They only got put into that position because of the kennelgrove thing. So, yeah. Yeah. We'll see. We'll see. I don't see him on TV again for a while. Moving on. Moving on, we go over to the hybrid Brendan Schwab, another alumni of the John Madsen season of The Ultimate Fighter. The John Madsen season. Okay. Come on. The John Madsen is three and I don't know. Who's Roy Nelson again? I don't know. All right. Brock, those are sparring partner and friend Chris Tucher. Tucher. Tucher came in saying that he was going to show his dominant wrestling. He did by wrestling his head into Brendan Schwab's fist. Schwab knocked him out with strikes at one minute and seven seconds into the first round. This was a bad match up for Tucher. I mean, just, Schwab has a really great stand-up game. I mean, he's got... I'm a boxing champ. I'm still... Yeah. Gold and gloves champ. Yeah. And I'm still really surprised that he didn't take out Nelson. I thought that he could do that, but I mean, I'm seeing nothing but good things for Schwab. I mean, he's really working on his craft and he's getting there. This is three knockouts in a role for him, I believe. All first round knockouts, over three fairly solid names. Now after the fight, they said that they asked him about what he felt about Spike TV. He said, "I love being on Spike TV. I appreciate it, but I want to move up to the main cart." Three knockouts. He's going on. It's already time. He should get to the main cart. He's going on to the main cart next. He's someone who also... He can talk. He can promote himself. And you know what? The guy's got a... The guy's a good looking dude. He's got a good looking girlfriend. You think? Oh yeah? I didn't see him in the show. When they announce this thing, you heard all the girls screaming in the crowd. It's like, "This is a guy." The girl's liking it. Yeah. He's a marketable guy who's putting on impressive wins. The people recognize from TV show. I mean, after three wins on Spike TV, he's moving up. Tuck sure is probably in trouble. And as I said, Ricardo Marrero's moving down, so next probably he peters all over his tuck sure. I think tuck sure is going to be protected by Brock, though, because they're friends. Oh, he's definitely got a job. I mean, he's not getting kicked out of the company, but he's, you know... This is his first loss. Remember, he won before that. And he's ten-haged, but he's still won before that. So this is only his first loss in the streak, so... So we go forward to the main card. George Soderopoulos picks up a unanimous decision victory over Kurt Pellegrino. In round three, Pellegrino had a look on his face like, "Oh my God, I did not expect the guy to be this tough." Soderopoulos was? Obviously, he's never seen a tape because Soderopoulos... Soderopoulos... I'm so high on Soderopoulos. He was great. Awesome. He's the contenders' pool. He's so smooth. He's got his contenders' magic. His ground game is just like a joy to watch, yeah. He pulls off dominant positions and nowhere like there's nothing. So Soderopoulos is probably now a solid contender. Looked for him to be in the title match in the next year. I don't think he's got the next one... There's no speeders there. There's that. They're going back to Australia next February. And I'm thinking you give him one more match. He wins that, and you push him hard. And Dane is itching to get that Australian market going because he said in the... In the press conference afterwards, he was like, "Man, Australia is a perfect market for us. There's not a single PUS SY in Australia." So I mean, Dana White loves Australia, so he wants to get in there and Soderopoulos is his key. He's the best fighter coming out of Australia right now, but then starting to do shows there. All he's got to do is keep winning. He's going to be a star. Maybe a future champion. One more match, and he might get a title shot in Australia. So then we go forward to Kristoff Sinsky versus Stefan Bonner. Bonner was under the gun fist fight. He had lost... He lost four in a row, and Dana said, "I think Bonner's allowing too much of an Uncle Dana to protect him." Bonner came out looking not to show that he wasn't relying on Uncle Dana. He really saw a brawl in the first round. In the second round, Bonner managed to get Kristoff against the fence, and unloaded with a sharp knee followed by hard punches, knock out victory at three minutes and eight seconds in round two. It was a fun fight. It was one of the fights of the night. Yeah, it was. I'm just wondering how long Kristoff is going to be able to glide on being entertaining. Yeah. Kristoff and Bonner are both gliding on being entertaining. But Kristoff's not gliding on the guy who put the company on the map. That's what Bonner's gliding on. And he's not winning. And he's not winning. I mean, I think he'll get another match because you can't go fight in the night and not get another match. But he's got to win. He's not going to win. He's not going to win. He's another guy that's got to worry about Uncle Dana now. Yeah. So I mean, Bonner's back in it. You can probably go forward to lose two more before you get started thinking about being fired. This is risky. You've got to win your next match, my friend. Yeah. So I'm going to go forward to Krist Lydall versus Matt Brown. Matt Brown was looking to make this a striking match. Not work from. Lydall took him down. Ground minute game in round two, two minutes and two seconds, submission armbar. This one was a very, very impressive looking one. Yeah. He called it his patented double submission. Yeah. It was good. He looks good. And honestly, I thought it was submission at the night, but he didn't get it. So that's nice. I saw a welterweight contender. Lydall was picking up enough wins where he's almost at the contender level. Not quite there yet. I think one more fight and you can start winning. He keeps winning. He keeps getting bonuses, but he still hasn't beaten that big name. Like recently that you need, but yeah, he's, I mean, you keep winning. You're on the way. So next for him might be Condit. You know, Condit's got hardy. Condit's got Dan Hardy coming out. Maybe Swick I think. Swick would be a good take too. So we go forward to Yoshi hero Akiyama versus Chris Lieben. Lieben took this fight on two weeks notice. Super showed notice. This was the other fight of the night because they gave two. It was great. It was worth it. Yeah. Definitely worth fight of the night for sure. This was an incredible brawl. Akiyama showed his judo and his willingness to punch. He took everything Lieben through Adam, through Lieben around like a rag doll, Lieben kept coming back for more. What fun judo. It was really fun to watch. I think Akiyama's, Akiyama dropped the ball though. He really dropped the ball. I mean, he got a little bit arrogant and he was like, I can trade with Lieben. I can do this. You should have just kept throwing him around like a rag doll and just, which would have one of the fight dominating. It's hardly arrogance, but also he said that he heard the cheers and this is the Japanese fighter mentality. Yeah. If you were cheering, you're throwing bombs, you keep it going because it's more important to give a good performance than to win the fight and he just, he got caught up in the adrenaline and wanted to stand in bang. If he would have kept doing his judo, that fight was his. Oh yeah. He picked up the first two rounds for sure. Yeah. Well, he definitely picked up two of the three rounds. Yeah. I would certainly agree with that. If that went into decision, he took it and I think one of the reasons, the reason why Akiyama is so popular though is that he really does go for the crowd. I mean, you saw all these people in the crowd with the Akiyama signs and they were freaking out over him. I mean, he's really popular and I guess it's because he goes with the fans. So, so it drew us a lot on whether it was the right decision or not to stand in bang. He was part of the most marketable Asian fighter they have. Oh yeah. It's like close. Mm-hmm. So, Lieben kept holding on there. He tried for an arm bar. Akiyama powered under with that. However, Akiyama threw so many bombs, he took so many shots, he was just gassed out. Lieben managed to get a triangle choke. Akiyama picked them up and looked to be able to power out of it. Just didn't have enough juice and fell over and Lieben held it on for a submission. Four minutes and 40 seconds in round three, Akiyama's 20 seconds away from the win but Lieben pulls it out. And Lieben just revitalized his career, two wins in two weeks, a fight like a fight of the year candidate. Yep. He called out a bunder lay after after the fight since he won's bunder lay so far. Well, Dana, I hope he gets him. Dana was saying, Dana was kind of during the press conference was sort of avoiding that. He was like, "Well, you know, Vonderly still got any injuries, so we're going to see about that." Well, it's a 20CL, so he'll be out for a while. Yeah. Well, Lieben might have another fight just because Vonderly might not be back fast enough. But with that being said, Lieben is definitely going to get someone. He's definitely moved up to, let's give this guy a solid contender. Yeah, he's on everyone's radar now, two weeks ago, two weeks and two days ago, whatever it was before his last fight. He wasn't on anyone's radar. What do you think is next for your Akiyama? Oh, geez. I don't know. Oh, I think I'm Lieben Belcher. You know what? That's a lost Akiyama. No, Belcher. Oh, yeah, yeah, Belcher did leave. So I would think that was such a close fight that I don't think they counted. Keep in mind, there's a Marquardt Paul Harris match coming up on the pen card. So that should have something to do with what happens to Lieben, I think. I mean, it might be a little while for Lieben to wait, but I think that that is a match-up. Take the take some time. Yeah. I mean, that's going to be the match-up, I think, that'll decide who Lieben gets next. In Akiyama, his duo is great, but unfortunately, I think one of his big flaws is he doesn't have a finishing tool. He doesn't have knockout power. He doesn't have great submissions. He can get the fight to the ground, but he can't pound the guy out. He can stand and trade with the guy, but he can't knock him out. I agree with you. Yeah. And his cardio isn't so sufficient that he can go to a decision every time. I was surprised that he gassed out. I really was kind of shocked. I think Akiyama needs to either work on his cardio or work on his submissions. Yeah, probably both. I don't think knockouts are going to switch. When you could take someone to the ground, it will, like he can, then you should definitely have either a wicked ground and pound game or a wicked submission game. And actually, the main event that actually came up. Yeah. So when we go to Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin in the main event, the crowd was incredibly ecstatic for this one. So were we. Oh, about as hyped for a fight that I've been in a long time. Yeah. So, I mean, I was more excited for this than I was for GSP, just because for this fight, I didn't know who's going to win where it was GSP, you know, you know, he's going to win. Yeah. So with this one, we'd all called, well, we'd called Carwin and Steve, if you go back, I don't, I don't usually call Leslie. I normally don't, you know, say, Oh, I picked this fight. No, I said Leslie's going to win because he's motivated and just won't give up. And you know what? He won by motivation. So Carwin, he won by Carwin implementing a horrible game plan one by Cohen, Carwin clocked him with an uppercut. And there was rock car when pushing up the concussion with a hard knee. Lesnar went down. Carwin jumped up to the top position and started to hit him. I think Carwin thought Lesnar was more finished than he was and just went wild, started throwing wild haymakers. Lesnar's got huge arms. He's covered up and Carwin rocked his arms to redness, even one of some good headshots. And we started pausing and taking a shots. Lesnar was looking in serious, serious trouble. I thought the fight was going to be stopped. I think they were going to stop it any second. To be honest, I really didn't, I didn't think that they were going to stop the fight. Lesnar had his hands up the whole time. He was defending himself intelligently. Only an idiot like Steve Mazagotti would stop that fight. He wasn't always right there watching it. And I could tell that Lesnar wasn't quite there, but Carwin was hitting him so hard. I was thinking it's going to be a matter of time before he landed. I didn't think Lesnar was finished, but I figured the ref would stop it because it looked pretty brutal. Yeah. But Lesnar was always defending himself. I have no doubt that he was not, it was not, I mean, it's difficult to, this is the problem with Carwin's strategy is that yes, he's used to knocking guys out in the first round, but you're stepping up to a really big level when you're hitting with, when you're banging with Lesnar. And it's difficult to finish somebody when they're so fresh, when they're, they've just started the match. It's early in the first round. They're still fresh. They're not tired. You've got to knock him down a couple of times, get him, you know, he stands back up, drop him again. A little more confidence out of the way. Like that was what Muir did with no Garrett, granted no Garrett had a staff infection. But Muir was like, okay, well I didn't want to jump on him the first time I dropped him because I had to wait for that opportunity and Carwin should have waited as well for the opportunity to really finish it. He should have been more careful while picking his shots here. Lesnar got back up, he was bloodied, went back to his corner, he called out to his corner guys. It's okay, I'm okay. Carwin was breathing very, very heavily, his guys are telling him to relax and try to get his feet back underneath him in the second round. He didn't mind Carwin has never been in the deep water, which is to say he's never been on round one. Yeah. He came up, he stood up, he winked at the camera, the crowd cheered for him, he came out and then he says he had a whole body cramp, Lesnar got an easy take down on him, maneuvered to side control, got in an arm triangle choke, topped him out two minutes, 19 seconds and round two for the submission of the night. Lesnar, incredibly impressive, showed his huge ability to absorb damage, his ability to recover, his resilience, his toughness. I love the story. And his strength and take down. I love the story, when we talked about last week that Randy Coacher went out to train with Lesnar, Lesnar said that him and Coacher only work like arm cranks and chokes, that's all they did for the week. And you know what, it's true, Lesnar is a guy who can take anyone down at Will, you got to be able to finish it, Akihama can learn Lesnar, but he did definitely. Lesnar definitely said, if this is a good position I'm going to be in, I got to know how to finish the guy from here, he learned. He is now even more dangerous, separate for him. Yeah, Lesnar is definitely the number one heavyweight in the world now, there's no more question. And yes, can you Velasquez next? His can you Velasquez next? Interesting shot, they showed Velasquez after this fight and he looked like a guy who was like, "Ooh, I don't want any of this." He did not look confident. And they didn't do a face-off either, right? I think that's a reflection of Carmen saying that our Velasquez is saying that going, "I want more technical puncher than Carmen is, but I don't have his power. I don't have the-" You're giving up size. I'm giving up size, I'm giving up wrestling ability, you know, because they're best evenly matched, because they're both so scoreless. Let me say last week that that Carlin was like the right opponent for Lesnar, I think Velasquez is an amazing fighter, he might be the wrong choice for Lesnar. I don't know, I mean, I think that his stand-up is superior to Lesnar's and he can't put the guy away, he doesn't fit notoriously hard. But he's TKO, you know, quite a few guys, I mean, he's got to implement, he's got to implement the strategy that Carlin should have implemented, you know, knock him down a couple of times, display your superior stand-up, stuff the takedowns, and, you know, finish him when the time is right. The thing with Velasquez is he has the best cardio of the division, he's got to take this fight to decision to win. Yeah, we'll talk about that fight when it comes up like four months. Yes, exactly. What do we have for the news? Yes, we're starting to run out of time here, so I'll go through the news pretty quick. So Shogun Rua is out until March, that's bad. And the thing is Rashad's put, he has got the next title shot, he wants to wait, obviously. Yeah, of course. Dana doesn't want one of his proven money-makers on the shelf that long, he's trying to put together a fight with him and Nogera. But Rashad doesn't want to do it, we'll find out what happens. Yeah. Oh, and Radovich Jackson says he doesn't want to fight Leo da Machida, because he doesn't want the fight to be boring. So there's two, because he just had a boring fight with Rashad, so now we've got two pretty cool, lay heavyweight fights, and like, no one really wants to agree to them. Yeah, well, three, because Leo's in the mix, too. Who's right? Leo's in that mix, too. He's a repulant. I don't think Leo has a problem with fighting anybody. No, definitely not. And Dana White said he has no interest in bringing in Fador and now he's lost. Well, obviously. I'd say it's still worth having in there, just not for any seriously, I have a certain amount of money. Yeah. And a related note, M1 Global came out and said that they are not in a panic with fear lost, and that they can't other things. They only coincidentally fired five people from their Dutch office for unrelated reasons. Of course, yes. Unrelated completely. Seriously. Once M1 was a Fedor's management company, once Fedor has lost and lost his aura, where's the money coming from now? Nothing. But they said, they're on the record now, they are not in a panic. So it was noted by a lot of people that at the strike force show where Fador lost, that when he lost, all the M1 guys sort of like crying in their hands, in terms of joy, dust in their eye. I'm sure it was dust in their eye. Absolutely. They just saw me on the other group because they're not in a panic. And yes, we've been talking a lot about this strike force middleweight tournament that's going to be coming on. They'd want to do eight or 16 men because they don't have 16 men. Do they even have 16 head awaits in strike force? Exactly. They could bring guys in because Jake Shields, he's gone. Yeah. They start negotiating with him. He's free to deal with UFC. Kung Lee has already said he doesn't want to be in the tournament. Well, I mean, Kung Lee is probably going to say, I should have the belt. Well, the thing with Kung Lee is that he would probably be in the tournament if the prize tournament was pizza and cookies, but for a mere 12 pounds of gold, he's already got that. It's true, though. I mean, by a lot of cookies and pizza and 12 pounds of gold. I like Kung Lee, but again, he says he won a fight like two times at night, three times in four months. You know, maybe not. Well, the guy's got it. The thing is, I mean, the guys, he's got a lot of hype and he's pretty high on himself, I think. So it kind of doesn't surprise me that he doesn't want to be in the tournament. I guess he figures that he's earned a shot just by being Kung Lee and avenging one loss. So, yeah, probably not, but, you know, and yeah, and also in Strike Force news, we kind of, I think we may have, because our brush passed it a couple of weeks ago, they're seriously considering Dave Batista, the WWE wrestler to come in on a card. Yeah, they're in real talks. I thought it was, I thought it was just fabrication. I thought it was Dave Batista trying to make some news or whatever, but I didn't think it was actually serious. I think I took it a little more seriously than you guys did. Not because I think Batista was so serious about it, but because I think Scott Coker in Strike Force wants him so badly. Mm-hmm. They want him to be their Lesnar, and they wanted that from Bobby Lesnar. He could be their Lesnar. If you could fight. Right. They're 40-year-old Lesnar. I mean, how old is he? Oh, he's over 40. Yeah. He's over 40. Yeah. But I mean, they desperately want him because they think he's a huge draw. They think that Lashley isn't as much of a draw because he's so soft-spoken. Not only does he sound spoken, but he's never, he was never as famous as WWE as Lesnar or Batista. Mm-hmm. Like, now that Batista is not, is available as a free agent, they're offering him the Moon and the Stars. They want him in there. It's just a question of, can they pay him enough, and can they find an opponent that he can realistically look good against as a 40-year-old man? Greg Nolich. Yeah. I think there's always a can that can throw at the guy, but it's me okay, you know? Okay. But I guess we're running out of time here. But do you guys think Batista, would he be a good idea for Strike Force? No. Depending on how much he costs. You put him on CBS, you don't think he'll draw right now. He'll draw. I think, here's the thing. I've only given Strike Force 15 months and one week at this point. I think the money they're going to spend to get Batista in there is going to cost him so much. It's going to take time off of that prediction of 15 months. Yeah. And then, I'm thinking of Batista, there's no way he can be any of the top six guys in that division. No, no, no, no, no, no. This would be a freak show attraction when people watch. Yeah. You've only got her so Walker. I would rather see her so Walker fight again and see Batista. I'd rather see him fight, but I think more people would be into, like, the whole wrestling fanbase, they've proven that they will watch MMA if there's a guy they know. Yeah. Well, I guess we'll find out. I guess it's too early to say because they don't have a deal worked out, but it looks a lot better now than it did before. They're definitely making moves to them. Definitely good for Strike Force. No. No. Very little looks good for Strike Force. All right, so I think we're just about out of time, but we'll continue next week.
