We start the show with a quick review of last week's Strikeforce Challengers, a show that didn't suck, much to our surprise.

There's also a bunch of news, including UFC's new Canadian office, and a bunch of wacky stuff including a TUF contestant getting attacked by wild dogs, and Krazy Horse and Frank Shamrock's conflicting values on treating women.

Finally, we preview this weekend's UFC 114: Rampage vs. Evans.  Can it possibly live up to the trash-talking hype?

(upbeat rock music) - Hello and welcome to the Hammer. I am your host, Dave. Join us always by. - Greg, how's it going guys? - And of course. - Steve. - Hey. - So you listen to us live at 93.3 CFMU. You can also find us on iTunes or the internet. We are at www.thehammer.com. That is, hammer with two A's, H-A-M-M-A-R. Also look for us in your iTunes store. So with that being said, we go forward. We've got an interesting one we'll show. First of all, we're gonna do a quick review of the Strike Force Challengers edition that came up this weekend. - Strike Force Challengers, what's that? (laughs) Strike Force Challengers. - Like what you already know is Strike Force, the Strike Force promotions under card guys, like their new up-and-comers. And it's usually really terrible. - However, this actually, this weekend was not that bad. You know, a lot of interesting fights on this one. First of all, we have Pat Healy picking up a decision win over Brian Travers by the name of his decision. - It was awesome. - This was a brawl that was forced on the good show. - It was a suplex war. - There were guys suplexing and throwing and takedowns on actual legit German suplex. Like released German suplex. Excellent. - Yeah. - You don't see that very often on this one. - These are two rebounds by the guy. - They were striking, they were fighting in the clinch, they were taking down. And then the third round was just, one guy slams the guy, the other guy gets up, slams him, they're reversing into slams. It was like a pro wrestling match, fantastic. - Well, yup, maybe they should do it on something that's not challenging. - People are actually gonna see. - Yeah, like why not put a fight like this with on a good card. Like on a big card. - Well, these guys should be on the big card next. - Yeah. - 'Cause Strike Force has to do anything at this point. - The best Strike Force fight I've seen in months. And yeah, and Healy won. It was a pretty close decision, I believe. But-- - 29-28 and 29-28 with a one judge saying 30-27. - Yeah, that's-- - So it was solidly in his favor, but I mean, he definitely picked up the win. - He got one more German suplex in. If you like seeing guys get dropped on our heads, awesome fight. - Yeah, so we go forward to Tarek Safidin, versus Nate Moore. Safidin picks up the win via KO in round two. This was another pretty interesting fight. More came up firing in the first round. Safidin just clubbed him in the second. - Yeah, good striking, a couple of good flying knees and stuff in there. That was fun, I liked it. - Then we go forward to Bobby Volker versus Roger Boing. Boing picks up the win by unanimous decision. The fight was stopped in round three because of an eye injury to-- - They were in the clinch for too long. It was actually fairly-- It was actually a really good fight. The crowd was really into it. And they were in the clinch for too long. The ref comes over and separates them. While he's separating them, the one guy nailed the other guy in the eye with his finger. - Intentionally? - Oh, it's completely, intentionally. - Really, okay. - Completely, unintentionally. Just trying to make space, I guess, like just like the referee gets there and they just sort of push it off each other to back up. - Yeah. - And guys, they spent like five or 10 minutes with this guy's eye, like trying to see if he can still go and he couldn't. So they come out and they say, if there's an unintentional, like no contest, in the third round, we score the first round, the second round, and how far we got into the third round do we come to a decision? - Did they just make that rule up now? - I never heard that before. But hey, you know what? They did it. - Yeah. - That's one way to go. - And bowling wins. And you know what? He was probably winning the fight. The crowd was into it. They were into the whole fight. They were into him. And then after he couldn't continue because of the eye poke, they booed the crap out of him. - That's classy, yeah. So he legitimately got the win, but the crowd just, I think they just thought he was a wuss, but it was very bizarre. - Was it, like, could you, I didn't see the card, I'm not gonna lie. Could you, could you actually see his eye, like, was it in that really bad? - It was bad. - It was bad. - It was cool, okay. - It was bad. But it was just scratched or something. But you know what? I will say, it's ridiculous. Like, I mean, that finish was the bright finish, but there was three good fights for three good fights. - Yeah. - This was an excellent card to this one. - I'd actually enjoy the next fight as well, which is Tyrone Woodley versus Nathan Coy. - And Woodley's a guy that's right for us. - Woodley's has huge plans for. - They're playing on putting him for Diaz's championship sometime in the near future. He's a very, very powerful top wrestler. Now with that being said, this is quite a good little war here. - It's back and forth. - Back and forth, Coy is some pretty good striking of his own. He landed a lot of good shots. Woodley managed to get some important takedowns. And Woodley, he's won all his fights by submission. And so he was going for it and just couldn't quite get the finish. And it was just two guys doing what they do best and not being able to finish the other guy until. - Until it goes to decision. So this one was a split decision, 29, 28, 29, 28, both judges for Woodley. And the third judge said 27, 30 for Coy. So a little bit of an uneven decision. - That's really odd, yeah. But you know what? A close fight, a close fight when you can go either way on different rounds, you can add wildly to burning scores like that. - True, true. But I mean, I didn't pick up, but I didn't pick Coy when all three rounds. - That'd be immediate. - So I mean. - But it's not like this was some huge upset. It was guys who were competitive with each other the entire fight. - Yeah. - So Woodley is a guy who's almost certainly going to go on to the main card after this. - I can't believe he's in there by now. There's so many. I mean, he keeps winning. - Coy is nobody in the welterweight division. - Coy, after this performance, I think he's going to move up as well. 'Cause they need welterweights. So Coy looked good enough against Woodley. - A close fight is probably the best results you could have hoped for for this. Because both of the guys showed how legit they are. - And opposed to the last four strike four shows being miserable, we're now four for four for good fights. - Yeah. And then we go forward to the last fight, which was Matt Lindlen versus Kevin Casey. We called Lindlen to win this one by his dominant grounding pound. However, we noted that Kevin Casey is well known for teaching Jiu-Jitsu dispenser pride. Unfortunately, it was not enough in this match. It was the three rounds before Lindlene got to top position and TK out him with bunches. - It's a good thing that he doesn't teach Spencer Pratt. Boxing or take them to fans or anything else, because all he had was BJJ. He had nothing else, no other game. - Literally took him down at Will. - He was one of the most one-dimensional fighters I've ever seen. - And yet he managed to make the main event. - Yeah. (laughing) - Well, so Lindlen picks up a pretty convincing win here. He's a little bit older, as we said, but more experienced guy better on it. - More experience, but more well-rounded. Fight was okay, good card. - Yeah. - Enjoyed it. It was a straight-forward show, it was like this. I'll probably actually watch the next one. (laughing) - And Spencer Pratt managed to escape this card unscathed. - He was up there. - So we go forward to the news, Steve, what do you have for us? - All right, well, I guess some of the big news this week is that the UFC held a press conference May 25th in Toronto. They're opening a Canadian office with the idea being that Canada has something like, I think that's that, 17% of the company's business. - Yep. - Think of the population difference. Canada is huge for USC. - Oh, yeah, well, it's been that way for a long time. - Yep. - And so they want to open up a city to run the business there. And they got down with a former CFL commissioner to head it up, Tom, I don't know who that is. - Which is a very, very good move because, I mean, Dana can only do so much talking to representatives from Canada, you have to get somebody who's been there, a Canadian voice, who is experienced in athletics in Canada and to make your case. So that's a really, really great decision. - They also had the rally in Toronto, the MMA Day Expo, MMA Day at the Queen's Park. So they rallied and they tried to convince the legislator to legalize the UFC in Canada. - In Ontario. - In Ontario, I think it's ridiculous. It's legal in Montreal, it's legal in British Columbia. - It's semi-legal in Vancouver. - You know, it's semi-legal in Vancouver. We'd have a boxing match here, no problem. And we even have other smaller mixed martial arts promotions. - I don't see what the issue is of a sanctioned UFC. - Just to give you an idea of what semi-Canadian media thinks about the UFC, I was listening to Bob McCallen on the way, great show, I love Bob McCallen. - This was from the fan. - From the fan, yeah. And he was saying that every time he sees a UFC fighter, he just wants to go take a shower. - Well, every time I see Forrest Griffin, I, you know. - You have Forrest Griffin. - Yeah, it's a scumbag. A cool guy, but he just looks like such a scumbag. - But his basic point was, yeah, I don't care if they sanctioned it or not, it doesn't matter to me, I don't care about UFC. - See, no, my thing is, this would be a fine thing to be saying five years ago, maybe even 10 years ago. But at this point, I think you have to accept it as a legitimate sport, you know, it's boxing with some wrestling thrown in, you know, with some kickboxing thrown in. - With the rules that work for us. - The rules work, no one has been hurt seriously in the ring. - Yeah, after for about 20 years of doing this, you know. - So, I mean, like the formula is down. - You know, like, do you need to regulate it? Absolutely, do you need to have doctors there, making sure that the fighters are in good condition and are not using, you know, steroids or whatnot? Absolutely. But is it, you know, a dirty blood sport of caged cock fighting? No, it is not a glat for real man. - They have more, they have more sort of safety measures than any other sport I can think of. I mean, everybody has to go for a CAT scan, medical clearance. - Drug tests after the fight. - Drug tests after the fight. - Four fights after the fights. - Four fights after the fights. - Sometimes during the fight. - There's an insane amount of precautions that go into, that go in before a UFC fight and a lot of people just don't seem to understand that. - And this is the sort of thing that I guess by opening this office that they want to get across. - Yeah, yeah, I mean. - You have that perception, when people can't shake their first impression of something, which is why people think that Jonas Brothers are still kids, is by the fact that they're all 28. You know, 20 years ago, when the UFC first was marketed as you know, we're all at blood sport, extreme martial arts, people still have that impression. 20 years has passed, it's a different sport. I mean, more people are getting injured in football than are getting injured in the UFC. - And people are dying in football. - You know, people have died in the ice rink for hockey. No one's died in the cage for UFC. - Right. - So, I mean, like, you have to look at it realistically from a modern perspective, not from a 20 year old perspective. - So what they would like to do is, if they can get a UFC cleared in Ontario, they'd love to do the GSP versus just cost check fight at the Roger Center, but it's not gonna happen that quick. I don't think so. - I don't think so. - This may take years. - Yeah, especially because, I mean, they're gonna be the coaches for the next tough. So you've sort of got a schedule that you have to abide. - We're talking about like December, January for that fight, probably. - They're not gonna get the Roger Center by then. - Yeah. So they just announced the line up for UFC on verses two. The first one was a good card. And you've got the main event is Tackenori Gomi versus Joe Stevenson. - Yeah, that's a good sense. - And then a co-headliner is John Bones Jones versus Vladimir Macheco. - Yeah, I don't know. - I think Michael's like pretty powerful. - He's a powerful guy, but I want bones on a pay-per-view main card. - I agree. - You know, I want to want a pay-per-view main card. - It's close, but he's still money on verses. And I mean, the thing with like heavyweight is it's such a fast division with so many, you know, fighters at that top point. You know, I would legitimately think that even as good as Bones is, as much as potential as I think he has, he's probably not even sixth in the division. - Yeah, but that's because it's the most stacked division. And the thing is, it doesn't matter how high up you are in the division when it comes to your stock as in a pay-per-view card. I mean, look at the main card that, we'll talk about this later, but look at the main card of the pay-per-view coming up. You're telling me Bones and you know, Machechenko couldn't replace one of these fights? - I agree, it could, but what I'm saying is, you also have to have something to give to, to versus, and there's only some certain fighters that they like. They like Bones because he makes her good TVs and exciting fighter. Similar to people, you know, people like Kimbo. That's why Strike Force was able to go, and you lead XC before them was able to go on for so long with the CBS cards, because people like Kimbo, and they want to see the guy fight, people like Gina Chrono. The second Gina Chrono fought a legitimate fighter in Christine Cyberksanto. - She got crushed. - She was crushed, you know. - But that's not gonna happen with Bones. - People like Chrono and she sold a huge amount of TV time. - Well, you know who I don't like? Casey is Cola from the ultimate fighter. (laughing) - Kayaki. - Kayaki. Yeah, KY-A-C-E-Y. Apparently he got a unique injury while shooting the ultimate fighter. He was attacked by a pack of pit bulls at the house. - What? - And he, instead of running in the house, he got scared and punched a dog in the face. (laughing) He sliced up his hand, and then the whole pack turned on him. He got chunks bitten out of his shoulder and his hip and one bit through his penis. - Oh, man, this is at the U of C, the tough house? - Yeah, when they were taping it. - Why are a pack of pit bulls at the tough house? - Why are wild dogs when they were on the top? - Is this a circus? - This is one of those pieces of news where it was April Tuesday. I would be like, oh, they got me, but it looks like that actually happened. - That's horrendous. - I wonder when or when on the season it happens, like, and if they're actually gonna tell me about it. - I don't think. I don't think so. - It's close enough to the end of the season where I don't think they're gonna address it, but I mean, for a fighter on your flagship show, it would be mauled by wild dogs. Certainly unusual circumstance. - I still don't understand why a pack of pit bulls are hanging out around the tough house. They figured that the hustle isn't tough enough, so we needed to go throw some pit bulls in there. - I need to learn more. - Yes, there is. - It's like the running man, when the guy's climbing up the rope, and he falls into the dogs. He really is at the chin ex challenge for the week. Is that how you gain control? - On the other hand, think of how, you know, if Kaki scored a had managed to feed-- - By Kaki. - If Kasey had managed to defeat the pack of pit bulls, give that guy the contract. - Yeah. - You know, if he managed to-- - Give that guy a title shot if he can defeat a pack of pit bulls, man. - So, I'd say give him the contract for fighting off that many pit bulls. Whatever we have to move on, it's a ridiculous service. - More on this story when I find it. - Yeah. - Matt Hughes versus Ricardo Ameda has been scheduled, which is only interesting because he trains with Hensil Gracie and Hughes is becoming the Gracie killer. - Well-- - How old is, how old is Ameda? - I don't know, he's older, I think. - Ameda is older-- - No, no, no, no, no, no. - He's actually, Ameda's moved on to a training role himself, and he's actually training the Gracies at this point, because, you know, when you're competing at that level, you have to work together to get better. - Yeah, yeah. - So, I mean, Ameda is very, very good. With that being said, I thought he was already defeated. I made it earlier in his career. - No, I don't think so. - Oh, I'm thinking of Arona. - Yeah, yeah, Arona. - I'm sorry. - So, it turns out that one of the big issues regarding Fedor and Strikeforce is that M1 Global made a deal, that's at this Fedor's management company, that they get 50% of the profits for a Strikeforce show. Well, it turns out that's not that much money. - Oh, yeah, right. - And that they just realized, if we get paid $3 million a fight from UFC, that's more than half of a Strikeforce shows profits. - It's more than a whole Strikeforce shows profits. - Exactly. - It's more than two Strikeforce shows profits. - So, Dana White's been making some cryptic comments about Fedor lately and it looks like, this is about as close as it's gonna have been. - What's the count out, Dave? - For Strikeforce, I'm calling 16 and a half months. That's in the life, for them. If they lose Fedor, I'm gonna take time off that, to be honest. 'Cause like I, as I said, this company is dying. I don't think they know what they're doing. - On the plus side, though, they have added Charles' crazy horse Bennett to their June 26 show. - Oh, you kidding. I'm watching it. - Of course you're talking about it. - Oh, for sure. - So, yeah. - What show is this, is it? - Strikeforce is just the June 26 show. - Well, what is this? - I think it was a challenge. I don't know, yeah, I can't remember what it's on. It might be the Fedor show. - Oh man, I have to walk around. - We're gonna watch it anyway. - Yeah, we're gonna watch it anyway. - But, you know, for a company, this is pretty exciting. - For a company that's become all about the train wreck? - Oh, what bigger train wreck can you have? - He's the train wreck of the century. - If nobody has seen a crazy horse fight or crazy horse's antics, you tube him, because it's one of the most hilarious things you'll ever expect. This guy has something else. - He's a very exciting white fighter to watch because he's so aggressive and he's so acrobatic. Like, he does backflips in the ring and whatnot. Like, three fights. - But he's like, batshit crazy. His antics are incredible. - However, he does happen to be insane. And he's said many, many crazy things, including that he hates Brazilians and that he is in favor of spousal abuse. - Well, he actually said there was a point where he was charged for spousal abuse and they said like he was a wife beater and he's like, you know, a woman beater and he's like, I'm only a one woman beater. Which is not funny at all, I'm not laughing at it. Like, it's just, yeah, he's something else. - You know who would disagree with Charles Kriese-Horse Bennett? - Frank Shamrock and Misha Tate who are filming a rape for prevention video this Friday in Los Angeles. Frank will play the rapist and Misha Tate will show various ways to beat his ass and protect himself. Now, I'm fighting that. I think that's great. - That makes perfect sense. I mean, good for that. - Misha Tate is the poster girl for the women's division at this point. - Yeah, that's true. - 'Cause she's a pretty well-spoken girl who, you know, speaks perfect English as opposed to side of Side of Work Santos. He does not speak perfect English in Gina Crown who is not in the company at this point. - They really should be building a lot more around her. - It was, I remember that there was a point of a fight a while back, the women's fight with Kaufman where at one point during the fight, and I remember Greg and I were watching this and there was a very pretty girl and a black dress walks past. And it was Misha Tate walking past the ring and she was sitting with Ken Shamrock. - Frank Shamrock? - Sorry, Frank Shamrock. So, I mean, they seem to be like, you know, friends and training partners and have a good working business relationship, so. - So good for them? - Yeah, and it's a great idea. I mean, it's something that's definitely a good contribution and should, yeah, it's not going to problem with that at all. And that's all I got for the news, all right? - So we move forward to the UFC show coming up this weekend. This is UFC 1/15. - Oh, 1/15. - Yeah. - So, 1/14? - 1/14. - 1/14. - So, 1/14. So, we go forward. We're going to start with the preliminary card which will be on Spike TV. They're promising us Amir Sadala, a former winner of The Ultimate Fighter versus Donghayan Kim. Now, Amir Sadala is a fairly well-rounded fighter, but he's best known for his Muay Thai game, a lot of knees in the clinch. Donghayan Kim is also a striker with a good Taekwondo game. So, this is going to be a striking battle in my opinion. There's going to be a lot of kicks thrown in there. - Yeah, this will be a good fight to watch. Here's my thing with Amir, though, is Amir, I don't think he's got finishing power at all. He's got-- - Anyone who saw that Phil Buroni fight knows that he doesn't really have. I mean, Phil Buroni's tough. Don't get me wrong, but he's not that tough. Amir hit him with everything but the kitchen sink and still couldn't finish him. - Yeah, I mean, well, the thing with Amir Sadala is as a welterweight at 170 pounds, you can't generate the same force that a bigger guy can. But he's a very accurate striker. He's able to punish guys. And even though he wasn't able to knock Phil Buroni out, he definitely slowed Buroni down and completely dominated him in that fight. - That's winning the fight, too. You know, you have to say that the fight before that, he showed a lot of dominant knees and was able to control the fight with his Martai as well. So, I mean, he's a slick striker, he's fun to watch. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've got no issue with him, but I think it's gonna start to hit the point where if he can't finish fights, he-- - Well, I mean-- - He's got a decision for us, I think, for all his fights, except for the one where he got knocked out in 20. He got TK out in 2700, so it's like, I don't know, I think he's got such a cool striking game, but if he can't get more power, he's not gonna make it that far. - Well, I mean, he's in the welterweight division 'cause the top guys are so steel-chan, they're all granny-jawed people. I don't think he's gonna maybe competitive there, but for a Spike TV opener? - Oh, he's the right guy. - They love a mirror. You know, a mirror's up with a very TV friendly guy. - He's like Captain Spike TV. - One of them. - Well, yeah, he does commentary as well. - He does commentary on shows, he does commercials for them, he's on their website. - They're definitely putting his face out there, so they've shown that they're gonna invest in him. - And one thing I've always known about a Merced Doll is he looks almost exactly like Forrest Griffin did before Forrest Griffin went through his current phase of going to a wild beard and, you know, wearing a black trench coat or whatever. - So it's hilarious how the ultimate fighter of this past week. - When he's date night. - When you bring up-- - Forrest comes over like an old scruffy in his trench coat, and he brings over a copy of the new UFC game, he's like, "Hey guys, everyone tell you it's date night. "Let's play video games." - It was really creepy, I don't know why. - In fact, even the fighters in the show commented on how creepy he's going to be in his trench coat. So, I mean, they're the breakdown of Forrest Griffin. - So who do you guys think of when this fight? - I'm calling him Merced, he's a really slick striker, and I don't see Dong Hong Kim having the striking game to-- - I'm going out and I'm calling Kim. - You think Kim? - Yep. - His tight window is awesome. So, and he's got a pretty good to ground game too. So, we go forward to a frame of scudro versus Dan Lozon. So, Dilo is a pretty solid wrestler with some good striking. Efren scudro is a great puncher. - Great wrestler too, great wrestler. - Efren scudero is a great wrestler too. - So, I mean, Efren scudero is actually a former winner of the Ultimate Fighter as well. - No, he's not, he lost to Philippe Nova in the final. - Oh, okay. - He beat Junie though. - Yeah. - So, a former finalist. - So, he's got my vote on that. (laughing) I still gotta go for Efren. - Yeah, I think I'm gonna call Efren too. - Efren's a good pick here. I mean, his wrestling game is enough, I think to stop Dan Lozon's takedowns. And then if he takes him down as himself, he's really good from the top. - Yeah. - Do you just some okay, yeah. Do you just some okay, Spike butts? - I think that the Amir Kim fight is gonna be exciting. I think it's gonna be an enjoyable fight. - So, we go forward to the rest of the preliminary card, which will hopefully make the pay-per-view. We've got Ryan Jensen versus Jesse Forbes in the middleweight division. Jensen's an exciting guy to watch and they definitely like him. They think he's got a future. We've got Linda Leitweitz, Melving Guilliard versus Whalen Lowe. Now, Guilliard has looked a little bit bad in his last couple of fights and I'm questioning how much of a career he has left in him. - By his opponent, this is his first UFC fight. So, I don't know, like Guillard hasn't looked great, but he's good enough to take this fight. And in his last couple of fights have been really, really tough fights. He's still got something left in the tank and he's still a very, very talented fighter. And I think he's gonna win. - No, if he loses this fight, that would be a real issue. - Yeah, big time. - Now, one other thing with Guilliard is he's had issues making weight the last couple of fights and he is getting a little bit older. So, as you get older, making weight turns to get harder, not easier. So, that's gonna be the issue is if you can make weight at 155. - This is true. - This is true. - So, then we go forward to the next light we fight, which is Aaron Riley versus Joe Bramer. Now, Aaron Riley was a guy they had huge expectations for. They loved him a lot. He had a great look and a great talent. - Yeah, he hasn't been winning. - He hasn't been winning. He's lost his last two in a row. - I believe his last two, yeah. - So, unfortunately, if he loses to Joe Bramer, after losing to, I believe, Pearson. - No, he had Pearson was two fights ago, I think. - Two fights. - I think he's had one since then. But yeah, I think this might be a loser goes home match. - So, I mean, Riley, if Aaron, if you're gonna deliver, this is the match to do it in. So, whole good luck for him, but he's been on a losing streak. I gotta call Bramer. And then we go forward to the main card. We have, in the welterweight division, Diego Sanchez making his welterweight debut against John Hathaway. Now, Hathaway is a good boxer, but with that being said, Diego Sanchez is a great boxer. - The only thing that, like, the fact that, the only thing is that this is Diego's jump into the welterweight division. It's his first fight. - He's gonna be a little bit smaller. - He'll be a little smaller. But either way, he's still gonna crush Hathaway. - Yeah, Hathaway said defeated, but defeated against no one. - Exactly. - There's 11 wins over two-nosew. Diego's coming off a loss, and he's hungry, and he's an incredible fighter. He's gonna crush Hathaway. - Just 'cause he gets dealt by BJ, he doesn't mean he's not one of the best out there. - Yeah, being beaten by BJ is not that much of a sin. And with that being said, Diego Sanchez is a very powerful striker, a good bijou-jitsu, and some good wrestling. He's also been on a lot of fight of the Knights. Hathaway's got a tough enough chin. This could be a good fight of the Knight. So, keep an eye out for this. - But definitely, Diego's fight. - Yeah. - In the light heavyweights, we have Louise Arthur Kane versus serial D.I.B.D. Now, Louise Kane is a great Brazilian striker. Cyril is a French kickboxer. Now, Kane is best known in UFC for getting knocked out by Lil Nogara, Antonio Nogara in his last match, but in terms of striking, he's one of the slickest in the world, and he was in top 10 light heavyweights forever. So, I'm looking for Kane to win this one in dominating fashion. - I agree. Yeah, this is a comeback for him. And this fight does have a lot of one-sided matches. This one has a lot of one-sided touches. - It really does. - So, then we go forward to the man who previously beat Kane, Antonio Rogero Nogara in the light heavyweights. This is Benataro Nogara's younger brother, I'm sorry, twin brother, versus Jason Burles. - This is supposed to be Forrest Griffin. - This is really disappointing that he's not fighting Forrest. - Griffin had an injured shoulder. He couldn't make it in. Jones and John Bones Jones couldn't take the fight on that short notice. Burles stepped up to the plate. So, congratulations, Jason Burles. Unfortunately, you don't want to step up to the plate on short notice against Nogara. - You know what though? Dana loves the guy who steps up, and a loss here won't mean anything. - Oh yeah, if he loses, he's okay. Even if he loses, he has nothing to lose except getting his ass kicked. Yeah, basically. - But Nogara's such a good striker and so good on the ground. He's definitely gonna take this fight in my opinion. - Yeah, oh, this fight. - This'll be a clinic. - The odd should be 20-to-1, Nick. - So, then we go forward to the heavyweights. Todd Duffy makes his return against - Finally. - a week or so. Duffy holds one of the fastest knockouts in UFC history with a seven-second win. - He fastest knockout in UFC history. - Not the fastest, it makes martial arts, but the fastest. - No UFC history, yeah. - Now, with that being said, Duffy got injured and was out for a long time, and we haven't seen him too often. - Haven't seen him since. - Haven't seen, that was his first fight, I believe, and we haven't seen him since. Now, with that incredible knockout, and with his look, because he's a huge guy, very muscular, all-American, kind of looking fighter, they love him and they want the best for him. - Oh, yeah. - He's a Brock killer. Mike Russo, this is his UFC debut, I believe. - No, no, I don't believe he sees him on the front plate. - He's on the primary cards, but like, years ago-- - Yeah, he's done a big name. - So, what do you call for this? - It's tough, maybe not by KO, 'cause he doesn't really have a history of KO'ing everybody, but it's gonna be a win. - Actually, I think he does. - Yeah? - I think he does a history of KO'ing everybody. I think all his wins have been KO's. - I mean, I know that he's a grounded pounder, too. I can't, I don't know. - He's got a good wrestling game, he's known for TKOs. So, with that being said, I have not seen Duffy taken into the deep water. I think it's too early to call him a world beater yet. - This won't take him into the deep water either, no, no, no. - So, we'll see what he's got to offer, we'll see if he still looks good in his second fight, but Mike Russo, best of luck to you, I'm calling Duffy to win this one. - Yes, definitely. I think everyone, I think that when they put this fight together, they expected that Duffy was gonna win. - Oh, yeah. - They're lining a lot for him to get, to get really high, because they got big hopes for him. - If they're hoping he can go in and be an American, you know, Sagano or Junior Santos. - Basically, yeah. - And then we go forward to Michael Bizping in the middle way to making his return. He's gonna be fighting the American Dan Miller. Now, Bizping is a good striker, but he's trying to be working on his ground game and his escapes. Miller is a submission wrestler. So, he's very reliant on getting people to ground. However, he is well rounded, he has some striking, too. What's your call for this? - I'm calling Bizping. I think that he's gonna definitely wanna, I think that Miller is well within the ability of Bizping to win. I mean, there's a certain level Bizping gets where he's not gonna win, like Bondly Silva, but Dan Miller is at, I'm not level like that, Dennis Kang sort of thing, where Bizping was taken. And Dan Miller, I mean, what Bizping is vulnerable to the strike, right? He doesn't, his, his, he's gonna be a striker. And Dan Miller's not a knockout specialist. So, this plays into Bizbing's... He's enough of a striker to overwhelm Miller, and he's got enough of a ground escape game to defend himself from Miller's his submissions. - It's a good matchup for Bizping, and I think he'll take this. - Now, with that being said, Miller's been hot lately, and Bizping's not been his fault. - No, I didn't, Miller not come off a couple losses, too. It's been that hot. - Even if Miller has been hot, he hasn't really fought. He hasn't, he doesn't have the resume that Bizping has. Bizping's lost to his big losses are Dan Henderson and Bondly Silva. That's nothing to be. And Bandly Silva was coming off of Light Heavyweight, so he was a big middleweight. - I don't begrudge Bizbing for losing the fights that he has, and I think he's gonna take this, no problem. - Yeah, guys, we're almost at a time here, but the final fight is... - Well, I don't know if I had to wrap it up. Quentin Rampage Jackson makes his UFC return against Rashad Sugar Evans. Now, this is the hugest fight that they've had of the year. They've been promoting this like crazy. These two guys legitimately do not like each other. - They have been everywhere talking about this fight. They've been on Ultimate Fighter. They've been forced by TV specials. They're all over the internet. They're all over, there's not much more we can say about this fight that they haven't set. These guys hate each other, and they're gonna... - Rampage is actually training for this fight, which he usually doesn't do. - Now, Rashad is known as a good counter-puncher with a really good wrestling game. He loves to do takedowns. Jackson is known for his impressive strikes, but he's also a great wrestler. My thing is, I think that with the Tiago Silvafite, Evans showed that he can take a guy down, but he can't really finish him from the ground position. And then, if the guy starts timing him in the third round as Tiago Silvafite does, he can get hit, and when Rampage hits a lot higher than Tiago does. I have to call Rampage to win this fight. I think he's got enough of a wrestling game to fend off Rashad, and I think his striking game is better. I think he's a better boxer with more power. - I'm absolutely calling Rampage for this fight. I mean, he's bigger, he's stronger, he's a better striker. Rashad is amazing, don't get me wrong, but Rampage is hungry, and he's been training for this fight, which as I said, he usually doesn't do, and he's just a war beast. - And he seems like the Hulk. He gets worse when he's angry. - Yeah, unless he makes a mistake or something, I think this is his fight to lose. - He has been caught with counter punches. His team has got issues. Wonderly's knocked him out before I said Shogun, and Rashad can take him down the line top of him for the whole match. So, we have to hope for the best, but this one's gonna be really interesting one to watch. - So, this would be a big fight, it should be a huge, big crowd reaction, and a lot of trash talk, and a lot of the trash talk might be the best part of this fight. - I don't think so, I think the fight's gonna be great too. - So, hopefully you see it. - Hopefully you guys see it, and we're gonna sign off now, and have a good week. - Take it easy, guys.
