[music] Hello and welcome to Hammer. I'm your host Dave. Join us always by my good friend. Greg, how's it going guys? And we have back from India. Steve. Steve, how's it tripping to you? It's pretty good. Backpack driven India for a while. Learn the yoga flame and the yoga fire. So you're back and ready the history fire. It's all good. It's a profitable trip. Had some that made me catch up on when I got back and I'm all caught up. Excellent. Let's do it. So we caught Steve up on UFC 113 which happened this Saturday and we're going to give it a quick run down here. So this was over in Montreal and we were fortunate enough to have one of our good friends head on out there to watch the show live and give us some reviews on it. So just quickly, we started the card with Jason McDonald versus John Salter. Salter won by TKO due to injury in two minutes and 42 seconds. McDonald is really injured here. He broke his leg in two places. So he was pretty much broken for that. He's going to be gone for a while. I caught a clip of it. Actually, he fell backwards onto his foot or the bottom of his leg or whatever. It looked pretty bad. And then we go to Yoshiki Yuta versus Mike Gaiman. Mike Gaiman won by unanimous decision, 30, 24, 7 from all three judges for the welterweight win. Then we had Tim Haig versus Joey Beltran. Now Tim Haig is making his triumph in return. Making his deal with similar triumph in return. We saw him was Todd Dufy Dufy. No, actually he fought, didn't he fight that took sure? He got knocked out by Dufy earlier. He got knocked out by Dufy before. So Tim Haig was a Canadian fighter previously known for his one being with the fastest knockout in UFC history. However, against Joey Beltran, he put on a much better show. This was a five round, or sorry, three round, five minutes slowly. Tim Haig going five rounds, that'd be interesting. I don't think he'll ever see a five rounder fight. These two guys just basically punch each other over and over and over again. Beltran does pick up the unanimous win, 30, 27, 30, 26, in 29, 28. But it was an entertaining fight, one of the best of the card. It didn't actually make it onto the pay-per-view, but it probably will be on UFC Unleashed this week. So tune in for this one if you like seeing two heavyweights just gunning out. I believe it didn't make the card because it went to a decision. Yeah. It was because it had restraints, but it was supposed to be just a great slim pass brawl. Yeah. If it's on Unleashed, I'll gladly watch it. So, well, 15 minutes or two of huge guys pounding each other. So, what more can you ask for? So we go to the wall to wait. TJ Grant versus Johnny Hendricks. Hendricks defeats Grant with a majority decision. Grant was also docked a point due to multiple groin strikes. So 29, 27, 29, 27, and 28, 28. Punching the ear point in the groin, never a good idea. It's supposed to be a good fight as well though. Fair enough. Then when we go forward to Marcus Davis and John Goulay, this one did make the pay-per-view. I was really excited to see this fight. I was looking forward to it. I wanted to see how Goulay would come back. And unfortunately, actually he did come back. Was this the one I'm thinking about? No. Davis won this one. Davis won this one. Yeah, you're thinking of Dorkson. Dorkson was the Canadian who won. Then the Goulay Davis took him out and I was pretty disappointed. Yeah. So this was a minute and 30 seconds in round two. This was actually kind of shellocking now that I think about it. Yeah. Davis was very dominant throughout the match. And Goulay did not manage to pick up the victory here. Then we go forward to the middleweights. Joe Dorkson versus Tom Waller. Tom Waller is best known for his incredible mustache growing skills. Oh. Megan PI. It was his gimmick at the weigh-ins. He came with the sweaty gray sweatshirt and the mustache and the hair. He was doing... Dan Severn. Yeah. I was thinking because when he came out, I was like, "Oh man, it looks like Megan PI." And then I was like, "You know what? He actually looks like Dan Severn." Yeah. If you saw the weigh-ins and he was wearing the sweaty gray sweatshirt. Yeah. That would be the giveaway. Oh, for sure. Yeah. So the sweet mustache aside, the Waller came out very, very dominant in the first round. Batter Dorkson punched a kick-dom, knocked him down multiple times. Dorkson tried to rally back and got some flurries in. But Waller kept on him, kept going for, you know, punch after punch. The one-round intermission after the first round was very kind to Dorkson. He came out and got a flurry of his own, took Waller to the ground and managed to quickly achieve back mount and go to a rear naked choke. Yeah. I was... So this was the comeback victory. I really thought Dorkson was going to lose this fight. I was really surprised. Oh, it was pommel on the first round. Yeah. He really was. I was like, "Oh man, another Canadian is going to lose. This is fantastic." But he wound up pulling it out. Dorkson was the guy who represented for the Maple Leafs. Pretty much. I think he's the only Canadian who won that night. Pretty much. So the question now is, who does Waller dress up as next time? Well, apparently not Dan Sever. I still say he needs to put on... Maybe he needs to put on the, uh, the Soak shirt and go as main MPI. Tom Selleck all the way. Maybe he needs to put on the, uh, the Soak shirt and go as main MPI. Tom Selleck all the way. Right, MPI used to win his fight, so. Every episode. So, uh, that was actually kind of an entertaining fight, fun to fight to watch. Because it was very action-packed. Both these guys were swinging for the fences, the first round. And the second round went from a lot further ground game very quickly. So it was, uh, it was a fun one. So you go forward to the main card. Patrick Coté, the predator, made his return after a two-year layoff. Uh, to face Alan Belcher, he of the Johnny Cash Tattoo. Oh man. Uh, the worst tattoo in MMA history. Yeah, we say it every time. So, uh, we had actually called Coté to win this one, because he's previously been a contender. Oh, I wouldn't have if I was here. Yeah, well. Every time someone goes and gets back. So Canadian hater Steve doesn't like Patrick Coté apparently. Yeah, no, no. I was never really, uh, the guy seems like a pretty cool guy, but I've never been entirely sold on him. Yeah. I don't like Belcher because it was nasty tattoo, but I, I assumed he would have won that. Well, Belcher just looked impressive consistently. He looked really good. That's like the best I've ever seen him look. Yeah, he looked really good in this fight. Well, we said that the key for this was, uh, Coté's striking. If you could control distance and, uh, keep the fight standing up, he would do well against Belcher. Um, unfortunately, he did not. Belcher took the fight to the ground in the second round and managed to achieve his own submission by a rear naked choke. So, um, Ring Russ is a real thing. Coté looked okay, but he didn't look like he was, uh, in contention with me. Yeah, he looked like, he looked like a contender in that fight, but he just looked out matched. I mean, Belcher eventually just wore him down. Yeah. So, Belcher. My favorite part is when Rogan was interviewing Belcher, and he's like, uh, so what next for you? And Belcher goes, you know who I want to fight. And Rogan's like, who? Because nobody was thinking Anderson Silva except for Belcher. Like, when you insult the guy? Who? Oh, him? No, no, no. No, you're not ready. So, Belcher, after his win, called out the middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, um, probably not the wisest thing. But, you know, with his win, he's up in the contention. With this win, he's looked impressive, and given the depth of the middleweight division, I don't really see it as that far-fetched of an idea. Well, I found a couple of wins in a row. If anybody can get a title shot. Chillson has got the next, and Evita Belfort's after that. But after that, Belcher's probably the third guy. Yeah. You know, realistically, he came off, um, you know, five of the night at UFC 100. He's picked up two wins since then, including this one, which was a submission of the night. Yeah. So, he's not, he's realistically not that far away, if he keeps getting some wins. I mean, if he picks up a win while, you know, while Belfer takes his shot, he realistically is probably like, he's definitely in the hunt. Yeah. So, I can't think of two main guys in middleweight that are ahead of him, other than maybe Mark Horr. And, uh, Secura. And Secura. So... So, they'd have to see how that fight pans out as well. Yeah, but I mean, you know, he's definitely in the row. He's on the road. He's definitely in the mix right now. Uh, so we go forward from there to, uh, one of my favorite fighters, Kimbo Slice versus Matt Mitrion. Uh, so Kimbo Slice came out, uh, looked fairly impressive in the first round with a lot of, uh, throws. Unfortunately, Mitrion, uh, managed to counter the throws. We said that he was a one-note grog, one-note brawler, but he actually showed he's been working on his ground game. That is light kicks. Yeah, his light kicks and his ground game. Oh, his, uh, his submission, like, implementation really needs to work. Oh, it's sloppy. It's sloppy as hell. I mean, what won this fight for Mitrion was the light kicks. Yeah. I mean, being able to target that, that bonnie of Kimbo is in just, yeah, every time he, the first time he kicked him in the leg, Kimbo winced. And that's such a mistake. Like, the second you, I mean, obviously it hurts, but you gotta, you gotta put on a better, you know, show than that because, I mean, he's gonna, he attacked those legs. The second he saw Kimbo winced, he just started kicking those legs like crazy. Well, Kimbo's, Kimbo's game here was to try and take the fight to the ground to protect his knee and to try to ground the pound. Yeah. Each time he did, Mitrion threatened from the bottom with submissions. You know, not the, not the prettiest triangle I've ever seen. Kimbo didn't manage to escape it, which, uh, tells you something right there. But, I mean, you know, Mitrion managed to basically keep kicking the legs and keep threatening submissions from the bottom. Kimbo did look gas coming out in the second round. Mitrion went to the leg kicks, achieved top position, got into full mount, began throwing some heavy punches, which Kimbo weathered the storm. Yeah. He punched him like 50 or 60 times. He hit him a lot. Through, uh, try to Kamora, which did not look out for him, and then just gave it up and went back to basically throwing some really, really weak looking punches and the ref stopped it. Uh, I know we weren't too happy with the stoppage because it was such weak punches and it was so low, late in the round. Well, it was one of those cases where, yeah, it was one of those cases where Kimbo wasn't doing anything. Yeah, there was no way he was getting on that mount position. No, not a chance. Uh, with his legs being wounded, you know, he wasn't coming back in the third round, in my opinion. And he's also not coming back to the UFC. Yeah, in a way, he's finished. Dana White has said that, uh, he likes Kimbo and he says, come to grow him to enjoy Kimbo as a person, but, uh, the UFC is so competitive that there's other people that deserve and want that spot. Um, I think this is actually a little bit of an unwise move. Uh, I think it's a very unwise move. Yeah, Kimbo is a rating straw. He had huge crowd support during this fight. It's something like three or four of the five top watched MMA fights ever. He has been in. Yeah, but the thing is, though, I mean, how long are you going to ride that for? Yeah. Like, it's going to come to, like, this opened up a lot of eyes, I think. This fight was really, this fight probably took his, his, um, his drawing powered down a lot. Like it would be one thing if he was losing to, like, save Roy Nelson again, who actually won the ultimate fighter, but to lose to Matt Mitrio, it's pretty sad. It's, it's, it's not good. Well, you know, Kimbo has one huge vulnerability in that he has no left knee. Yeah. Um, his left knee has been surgical repair. It is not in good shape. Um, he has a huge vulnerability to light kicks. Uh, and I think they also moved him back on the card fairly fast to try to take advantage of that drawing power because it wasn't that long of a delay. Since he's not exemplified. This is a case where the fighter should have taken nine, ten months off to rehab his knee, but he came back in three months and picked up another defeat. Yeah. There's no way you can, at this point, there's no way you can put him on the main card with a pay-per-view. No. You know, you would have to have him do, like, ultimate fighter finale or, or a fight night. He should be, he should be the co-main event on, on fight nights three times a year. People will watch him fight. Yeah. For free on TV. No one's going to pay to see him on pay-per-view, but if Kimbo is on TV fighting some with some guy, people are going to watch. It doesn't matter. I think he's at that tank, Abbott level, where it doesn't even matter if he wins or loses. In other words, it's not the wins or losses. It's, oh, he's fighting. People are kind of curious. Yeah. Not only that, but Spike TV loves him because he got them one of the best rated seasons of ultimate fighter, the best rated season of ultimate fighter they've ever had. Yeah. I mean, put the guy on Spike TV for fight nights, twice or three times a year. Yeah, it's huge. You're, now, now he's gone, and now he can go to Strike Force where people might actually, next, if they actually somehow miraculously get another CBS special for Strike Force. Kimbo Slice for Universal Walker will draw. Or, first of Walker, if you want to go freak show, or, you know, anybody else, you just want to draw a rating. Well, Kim, putting Kimbo, at this point, I mean, Strike Force is already a circus, adding Kimbo to Strike Force will make it even more of a circus. So, I don't even know. But I don't even know. People might watch. They might watch, but really? I don't think Kimbo is going to put take you off life support of your Strike Force. I really don't. I agree with that. I don't think he's enough to save Strike Force. I maintain my prediction. Seventeen months and one week. With that being said, you know, there are plenty of guys in the UFC who don't throw a lot of leg kicks and who aren't in Tyler contention. But people would enjoy seeing Kimbo fight. And with that being said, Kimbo's had an unfortunate weight. He's about 225 pounds. So he's a little bit too small for heavy. He's a little bit too heavy to make the cut to life heavy. He doesn't have the, I mean, he's in great shape, but he's not going to be able to cut that weight. But at the age of 36, I mean, when his body's been through, I don't think he'd be able to cut that weight and go to life heavy. If he could cut to 215 for catch weight fights, I think that there is a market for a catch weight fights two or three times a year. Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell, Rich Franklin. Wait, did he do it with Randy Culture with Houston Alexander? No one cared about the weight class they were fighting in. He sort of sees you guys fighting. But that was when Kimbo's hype was much bigger than it is now. And people were expecting that to be, we were all expecting that to be a bomb fast. You don't think that if you go for a UFC fight night and you put on Chuck Liddell and Kimbo Slice, you don't think that can be an event? There's no possible way that Chuck Liddell is ever going to fight Kimbo Slice. That's not happening. They will never touch each other in contention at any level. Unless Chuck Liddell is ready to be wheeled out on a gurney. But I will say this, if you did Keith Jardine and Kimbo Slice and you put it on a fight night, it's going to draw a comming event on a fight night. It's going to draw the best or one of the best fight night ratings. And Keith Jardine doesn't throw that, nobody cares about that. But people will watch because Kimbo is there. He's a valuable guy to have and I mean I don't think it benefits you any to give him a strike force is what it comes down to. Do I think he's ever going to get a title shot? No. No. He started too late. He's not going to advance to that point I don't think. But he's still a fighter. If Dana is taking James Tony because he doesn't want him to go to strike force and letting Kimbo go, you're not thinking straight. But James too, well I don't want this to get too much of an argument. But James Tony is unproven as an MMA fighter like Kimbo was when he first walked in, right? So yeah, James Tony is going to have the hype behind him until he sucks the high tit against Randy Couture, which is obviously going to happen. And I agree. My only thing with Kimbo is I think his interest is in his win-loss record. It's him being Kimbo. Like I think he fights people only remember the last time he fought. Or that he won or he lost, it's like oh Kimbo is on TV. I agree his record doesn't matter, but the way he fights does matter. And his fights, he's had some great takedowns, but he's not, they haven't been slug fast. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. So, what you're expecting. No, no, no, no, no. That's actually a very good point. He's not delivering the fights that people want to see from Kimbo. And right, that might make a difference over his drawing power. Hey, let's move on. So going forward from Kimbo, we have Canadian Sam Stout versus Jeremy Stevens. Stevens came out looking very dominant in the first round. Stunned out a couple times. This was a striking battle. And the second and third round started to rally back with a lot of technical striking using his evasiveness to avoid Stevens' counter punches and tag them. So this one went to decision. This was a split decision with Stevens winning 30, 27, 29, 28, and 28, 29. So this was a fight of the night between Sam Stout and Jeremy Stevens. Yeah, it was a really good fight, a fantastic fight, a good close. Very close. If you want to see a good fight between an outside technical striker and a power guy, this is a fight to see. This is basically a classic striking matchup of two alternate styles. And both these guys are legit. Like, I could see both these guys contending. Like, they're both talented enough to, but their win-loss records are so up and down. Yeah. I mean, these are, I mean, I don't have the exact stats in front of you, but these are 500 fighters, you know? They're always in great fights. Sam Stout's like captain fight of the night, but you know what? If you can't string a few together, you're not going to get a title fight. I don't think it's, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that Sam Stout or he then will would string. Can do that. But up to this point, I mean, you know, well, with the lightweight division, you know, if BJ Penn does move out of it, that'll be division will become so fast that, you know, these guys might move into contention. They're not there yet, but keep putting on fights the night. You're going to be on the main car for a long time. Oh, yeah. $65,000. Nothing to sneeze at. Agreed. It's a nice little payday. So then we go forward to a little bit of a controversial fight. Josh Kosh check versus Paul Daly. Now the Kosh was talking a lot of smack for this fight, so it was a daily. Yeah. Daily was too far. Daily said that wrestling was outdated in the MMA and that no one really needed to compete. Unfortunately. Apparently he hasn't watched the past, you know, ten, ten UFC records. Yeah. And we're gonna remind you what this vision is, Dalyan. And who's the champ? Yeah. Yeah, wrestling. Who needs it? Who needs it? Let's see. GSP. John Fitch. So it's insane. So, uh, Daly, uh, well, we said last week that if Kosh check came out, uh, believing his own hype and tried to strike with Daly, I thought it would end badly for Kosh check. Yep. But I called Kosh check to win because I think his team was too smart and they'd say, "Go out there and fight smart." That is exactly what Kosh check did. Took the fight to the ground, kept on top, kept dominant position throughout the fight. You put on a clinic. Put on a clinic. Daly never got his feet underneath him with the exception of a couple flurries and each time Kosh check managed to drag the fight back to the ground. So Kosh check picks up a unanimous decision victory, 30-27. There are two controversial moments in this fight that need to be discussed. First, we'll go for Kosh check's controversial moment. As Daly was rising from a, um, takedown in the first round, he threw a knee at Kosh check's head. Kosh check collapsed, clutched his head. He pulled a glottal mute. It looked very, very badly hurt. It looked like he had his face smashed. Oh yeah. The replays revealed that the knee was at best a glancing blow, a graze. It wasn't a full-on hit. The only thing I can think of is that unless he was diving, um, that the knee grazed his head and possibly he caught part of it in the eye. And that's why he was, he was in pain because if you get something in your eye, it's going to hurt. A very similar thing happened in the Roble Johnson fight too, where he got to, where he had his eyes, like, like, grazed or whatever. And, uh, you know, his eye, apparently after the fight, like, his eye was swollen or looked like it had been hurt. But that was from something else. It was very possibly from something else. But I, I believe that he got, you know, briefly posted or something. For some reason. And it took a dive. For some reason, people loved to knee Josh Kaushik in the face. Yeah. And this is what I'm going to get to. First of all, the ref has an obligation to, if you've seen a point, to see if I were throwing a knee at a downed opponent's head, which was definitely what Paul daily did. Oh, yeah. There was no question. Just because you missed doesn't mean you weren't throwing it. Yeah. He's still through the knee. So the ref had the obligation to caution the guy, which is what he did. And then he didn't dock a point. That's true. He didn't stop the match. He didn't execute. This knee had no outcome on the match. So even if Kaushik did exaggerate the damage, it does. He says that you got hit, even if he did exaggerate it, that did not affect the outcome of the match beyond the daily got questioned. Yeah. You lost it. But you should have. Yeah. Okay. Well, the commentators came on and they said, like the commentators said that he was docked a point. Like the ref, docked a point. No, the ref said that the point is docked and then changed his mind. It was all, it was all by sound. Do you guys can hear it? Yeah. So he actually, he called the point docked. And then once he found out, we're really happy to reverse it. Which is a good move. But I mean, like, that's the ref's job is to analyze whether a fight should be a point, a point should be docked or not. The point shouldn't have been docked and it wasn't docked. Right. Yeah. This didn't hurt the unanimous decision. Like it wasn't like. You could have given daily a point. You still would have won this fight. Yeah. So even if Kaushik saw oversold the injury, it had no bearing on the fight is my point. So going forward to something that did have a bearing. After the unanimous decision victory, Kaushik got up from the position he was in. He was in top position, walked to the edge of the cage to raise his hands. Daily got up, walked out from, turned around and punched him in the face. Absolutely. The biggest douchebag move I've seen in a long time. Well after the bell. I'm going as classless as I never made before. As you can get, really. I mean, that was, that was a disgrace. That was an absolute disgrace. And the second that had happened, we were all sitting, we were sitting at the bar. And one of our friends was saying, oh, it looks like he's going to be suspended. I looked at him and go suspended. He's done. Dana, he's finished. Dana's already signed his release papers. He's done. Yeah. Yeah. Dana fired him. Dana said, if it took quote, Dana White, he's done. Yeah. He will never be back. I don't care if he goes all over the world, goes on a winning streak, becomes the best 170 pound fighter in the world, or even the best pound for pound fighter. He's never fighting in the UFC again. He will never be the best pound for pound fighter in the world. It's not happening. He's making a point. That's the, that's the importance of, of this. I mean, a year ago if Daily had done this, he would have been severe, severe trouble. He may well not have been fired, but he would still have been suspended for a year with no pay. However, after the Anderson Silver disaster with Dana looking disgraced by that, and after the Strike Force Brawl, Dana White coming out and saying, this has never happened in my organization. And when you do an event in Montreal, the big sign that says sanction Ontario in the background, trying to get the sanctioning in Ontario and in New York, it's a bad night to be an idiot. Yeah. It really is. This is a stupid thing to do. How cost check held it together on that. Well, like he held it together and then he cut a huge heel promo on the crowd. Hey, you know what? I have no problem with that. It was awesome. I love cost check. Yeah. The, the, the more of a jerk that cost check is, the more I like it. So Dana said afterwards, um, he walked into the fight out and he said to daily, you know, why did you do that? And daily is like, shrugged his shoulders and Dan is like, well, do you want to have a job here? And Dana and daily says, ma, that's not the answer to give Dana White when he's giving you a lifeline. Daily is gone. He will not be back in the UFC cost check as the first victory performance. Rogan Aston probably felt about the sucker punch. The cost check did not answer that. He instead answered that he was glad that the Canadians were losing to the Pittsburgh penguins. His Josh cost check was born in Pittsburgh. And then he said that he would beat up GSP Montreal's hometown boy. And so the Montreal will lose double. Yeah. That was great. I was loving that. And now GSP and cost check are going to be coaching the ultimate fighter. I'm going to enjoy that. You know, what we said that if they're going to put GSP in there, they've got to put them with someone who can smack talk the hell out of them. This fight is going to be more perfect than cost check for that. So that, so their title fight will be after the next ultimate fighter season. That's going to be so much money. Oh, big time. Yeah. And then we go forward to the main event. And this is probably the most important of them. Shogun rule versus Lio de Machita. Now we had different calls last week. Greg had called the Machita to win because he said Machia involved his game. It did look to be that Machita had come up with a different strategy. He did not come up with his typical striking. He was going for a lot of takedowns dragging the fight to the ground. I called Shogun to win because I thought Shogun had figured out Machita. Machita went for one of his counter appliances. Shogun came up with an overhand right, clubbed them in the head. Machita won goes out by knockout three minutes and 35 seconds in round one. Rural jumped to top position, pounded them out. Lio do is no longer the champion. Shogun rule. New heavy weight. New light heavy weight champion. Well, like I would have to say that Shogun deserved it. He deserved it the first time in my opinion too. I really thought Machita was going to show more. I really thought he was going to come out and do a lot more. But Shogun, I think Machita did do a lot, but Shogun just knew exactly what to do and caught him. And Shogun is back at 100%. No. It's funny. He's back for ability. The funny thing is, it turns out that a few weeks before the fight, who underwent an appendectomy eight weeks before the fight and kept it quiet. Wow. Didn't say anything. Randy Coacher was on standby for the title shot, often to the last minute just in case he couldn't fight. Wow. It's just good on Shogun. And yeah, he can only start training with four weeks after the surgery and three weeks before the fight or something like that. So he wasn't at 100% and still destroyed Machita. Wow. You know what, this is, that's scary right there, that's scary. After the fight, they asked Machita what he was training. He said, he realized that Machita would be training for the leg kicks. So Shogun was going to train his hands to try to catch him with more counter punches, which is exactly how it went. So he basically, he did have the strategy figured out from Machita. And then afterwards, they asked him if the old Shogun was back, he laughed and said he was going to go to a barbecue with his two brothers in Brazil, and then he would fight anyone that the UFC had to fall for him. And then after a disco dance. And then he went, happy Mother's Day, and all the mothers. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers. He's great. He's just like, I remember the first time when I saw him fight Coleman, and how I was just like, what is this? Well, because I hadn't seen any of his pride fights at the time. And I was just like, man, who is this guy? You know, that was his T-Shoga. And then that was his T-Shoga. He's just completely won the over now. This is full circle now. I'm a big Shogun. He's back. He's back. Afterwards, in the post fights, they asked him, what's next for you? The obvious answer is the winner of Rashad and Rampage at the end of this month is probably next for him. However, he also said he would love to fight Kotur, because Kotur is a heavyweight legend and he really respects and mar us him. Now, Kotur is on deck. He's won enough that he's close to title shot, and if you're going to give him the title shot, it's better to do it now rather than sooner rather than later. He's not getting any younger. And then they asked him the ultimate dream match, would you be willing to fight Anderson Silva? Because Leo de Machito wasn't, and you all trained together. Shogun said, I'm a professional fighter. I will fight Anderson Silva if they asked me to. Fantastic. Go Shogun. I like to do that fight. Yeah. So with the potential of it being Anderson, Anderson and Shogun, I said that Anderson wasn't a good match for GSP because Anderson is so much bigger, which makes GSP's knockdown or talk takedown game a little bit more problematic. Shogun is the same size, roughly the same weight. They have similar reaches, similar height. Same quickness. Same quickness. And they both match up and that they're both Mutai strikers with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts. This could be one of the big match, like in terms of technical abilities. Yeah. This would be one of the most technical skill matches of all time. You know what? Yeah, for sure. And if anyone's going to be Anderson Silva, I used to, I used to be all about, you know, GSP. GSP might still be able to do it, but now it is Shogun. For me. For me, Anderson Silva, it's going to be Shogun. So I mean, like, not to take away from Chalconan and Feudor Belfort, but you have to figure that GSP and Shogun are the two guys that realistically are the guys that match up best with him in terms of ability. Yeah, for sure. Any further comments or shall we go forward to the news? Yeah, there actually isn't a lot of news this week, other than what came out of that paper do. Yeah. Christine Cyborg Santos has been added to the June 26th Strike 4 show. But they're advertising it as the number one male fighter in the world, Feudor. And then one female fighting on the same card. No, they're telling the truth. It's true. So that'd be pretty cool. For once. And not huge news, but Chalconan just did an interview where he claimed that if he had lost to Nate Marquart, they were going to cut him. Really? Which just shows that in that division, like, like that, like, sort of like the level of that's odd. That's really odd. So would they have cut him because his fights are boring? Yeah. Yeah, because of boringness. Oh, OK. All right. You know what? Sometimes it matters. But you're going to cut like that doesn't make sense. That doesn't make any sense at all. Because, I mean, the middle way division is already pretty weird. It's already so, is already so, this is why I don't really understand it. It's already such as. Well, I mean, if you have boring fights, it doesn't necessarily get you the title shot. And that's the problem with John Fitch. Yeah. He's so technically skilled. Whatever, you know, they ask Dana, is John Fitch an ex on deck? He's like, yeah, you know, same with shell sign. He's won a lot of fights in a row, but he's got such a grinding style. If you would just learn to throw an elbow, he'd be a little more exciting. Yeah. It's not a fun thing to watch. He's not a particularly exciting fighter. With that being said, Dana is now very, very upset at Anderson Silva and Anderson Silva, a grinding style might be the best counter to his dynamic striking game. So, shell signing has chuffed for her, at least until if he gets all by Anderson Silva, he might be in trouble. I know, I think he's established himself now, and I don't even know how much he was exaggerating or not. I just think it's interesting that that shows the level between being cut and being a contender in that division. I also think it's like a little bit of his own psyche, you know. He felt threatened to not necessarily say that Dana was like, hey, I'm firing if you don't win this. Yeah. You know, so. I don't like jail signing, you get fired, I don't like jail signing. So going forward, we have the Strike Force card this Saturday, and this is for the heavyweight championship of the world. So we're going to have, we're going to start with light heavyweights, Rafael Cavallante versus Antoine Britt. Cavallante is a very great Brazilian Jiu Jitsu processor, Antoine Britt is an impressive striker with the last nine of his 14 fights ending in knockout. So I'm going to have to call Britt for that one. Okay. Then we go to Haja Gracie coming in to face former All-Star Kevin Randallman. Kevin Randallman is best known for his incredible suplex on feeder, where he dropped him on his head. Was Haja the one who put on the lackluster fight? No. No, that was Hollis. That was Hollis. Yeah. Okay. Haja, he's only had two fights. Two fights. He's had a win over Yuki Condo and Ron Moderman. Two professional fights. I think he's 34, so he's not a complete newbie. Younger than Randallman. It was Randallman's. Randallman's up there. He's younger than Randallman's. He's younger than Randallman's. Randallman's up there. So, as he experiences Randallman, what do you think? I'm going to call Haja. I'm doing my, the rule I live by is young Gracie's win or Gracie's lose. Yeah. So this Gracie's going to win. I got to call Randallman. I love Randallman and I think that Haja's two in experience to take on a guy with Randallman's pedigree. So we go forward to Ronaldo, Jekkara, Sousa, versus Joey Villasignor. Sousa is another Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert, best known for being knocked out by an upkick for the guard, Ms. Asse, Joey Villasignor, is another solid grappler with a good top ground a pound game. You know, when you take the fight to the ground, I got to say that it's a Sousa's fight, and Villasignor's career strategy is to take the fight to the ground, so I'm calling Jekkara for this one. You know, a former title contender. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not in agreement with that too. And then we go forward to the heavyweights. We have Andre the Pitbull, Arlowski making his return to face Antonio Bigfoot Silva. These are two huge powerful strikers in the heavyweight division. Yeah. This is going to be, this is going to be something else. This is going to be a, a brawl, a lost brawl. Yeah. Now Arlowski also has a really good Samo game. So he does have some throws and some takedowns, but these are both guys who like to fight and like the box. So expect to see a lot of hard hits in this match. Arlowski does not match up well with Silva my pain, because Arlowski's chain is a little bit suspect. Yeah. I have to call Bigfoot to win this one by Naka. As much as I really hate calling against Arlowski, but I have to in this case, like it's, yeah, I got to call Bigfoot definitely. Yeah. I could never, I can never put money on Arlowski. Yeah. I'm going Silva. It's so hard to call against him though, because it's Arlowski at event. You don't, you don't want to, but I mean, but yeah, you don't want to, but yeah. Arlowski's such a hard hitter and his last two matches that have been defeats. One was to Fedor and the other was to Brett Grim Rogers. Now if you're going to have me knocked out by two of you guys in the heavyweight division, those are two guys who can do it. Yeah. So I mean, like Arlowski don't, he was, he's, he's been further up the cards than Silva is. He's been at the dance. He was a youth champion. That is true. He has the power in both his hands and he does have a very, very good technical striking game. So I mean, mental issues aside with him playing Russian without when he loses. Yeah. Yeah. He just, he has to go out and knock people out. I, I, I just think, I just think he's like, he's hit that level like that, that Brett and Vera level now where it's like, okay, like, you know, at one point he was something, but sometimes you just lose it. I like it. I like it. I like it. I like in him to Jim's polever personally. Okay. Yeah. I think it is one of those guys you just take calling against, but you kind of have to sometimes, you know, so. Okay. And then we go forward to the heavyweight championship bout, Brett the Grim Rogers, after his defeat at Fedor, the hands of Fedor, lost the fight, but he won a championship shot. Ridiculous. I'll have to. Bush Lake strike for us. Against Alster, the demolition man over him. Alster over him is making his return to the strike force heavyweight division where he is the champion after three years of not fighting. He, he, he won the title nearly three years ago. We assure you he does exist. And then has not depended the title on three years ago. He defeated Paul Buenantella for the vacant heavyweight championship. Oh, man. Alster over him is, he has balked up to, he's six foot five and he's balked up to 265 pounds. He's getting like 60 pounds in the last two years. He was best known for his, his 205 pound career, which includes defeats at the hands of Shogun Roa, Chuck Liddell, Ontario, Roger O'Nogara, Ontario Meantara O'Nogara, and Ricardo Arona. And Helio Gracie. No, I'm just kidding. So, that's how old he is. Yeah, Alster over him does not have a particularly wonderful record. He's not in the top. He does. He does recently. He's on like a. He's on a, he's on a four fight winning streak. But just spent 10 years. He's kickboxing matches with one no contest lost to Marco Crocop via shots to the groin. So, he keeps getting more interesting with over him. I can't, that was a win. So with that being said, Rogers has got, he's on a streak. He's got a tough chin, he can throw a hard punch. However, over him does not have the championship advantage. He has been in some striking battles before. So this is kind of a battle that might favor him. What do you think? I know, I know, I'm going to admit that I know nothing about over him. Really? I'll call Rogers because he didn't look horrible against Fedor. He got caught. And I think he's going to look for something to prove here. I'm going to go Rogers by, by grand a pound. I wouldn't be surprised if it went the other way, but I'm going to go with Rogers as well. Well, Rogers is definitely a smart call to make because he has been on that streak. And he, I mean, looking good against Fedor, it generally is a good predictor of over him. Yeah. But over him can grace so much size lately. He's so much bigger. He's so much of a different fighter than he was for his, you know, middling career in the light heavyweight division. He is champion and he is an incredibly good striker, very, very powerful, very strong. I'm going to call over him. I think he will be able to retain against but Rogers, just because I think his technical striking game is good enough, he'll be able to fend off Rogers with low kicks and set up for later in the match. Oh, the other reason why I think that Rogers is going to win is because it's strike force and it will be just fitting that Fedor will fight for the title against the guy he already beat. Yeah. I was a year ago on pay per view in the old care. I think that the top 10 heavyweights in the world do not include Oscar over him. Yeah. They do include. Well, really? But Rogers is for B.C. over doom, who is previously defeated over him. Yeah. And Andre Alofsky. So he's the fourth guy in his own division in his own company. So. Cool. So we'll be watching that on Showtime this weekend and I don't know how many other people will be. Yeah. Tune in pretty Ultimate Fighter tonight. See you later. Have a good week. Take these guys.
