The HAMMAR reviews WEC 48, a great success.

David mistakes the date.  It really is the April 28 show.

Dana White guarantees Jake Shields.  A former UFC fighter goes insane.  And Tito's last match in the UFC - Versus Jenna Jameson?

(upbeat rock music) - Hello and welcome to the Hammer. I'm your host Dave and I'm joined as always with my good friend Greg. - How's it going guys? Good to be back. - And unfortunately I do not have Steve here with me tonight. He is in India learning the fine arts of Indian martial arts to discuss with us later. - Budget cuts, we can only have two people, two homes per show. - So it is April the 31st and we've got an interesting show. We've got some reviews of the WEC pay-per-view. We've also got a lot of news for this week. So we're gonna start with the WEC, Greg, go ahead. - So we'll do a little recap. Unfortunately I didn't get to talk about the preview of the WEC 'cause I wasn't here but I'm definitely not missing the opportunity to talk about the wrap up. So what we have is we'll go to the prelim card first. Featherweight bout between Brandon Visher and Tyler Toner. Tyler Toner defeated Brandon Visher via TKO elbows at 236 of round one. This aired after the Henderson-Saroni fight by the way so those who bought the pay-per-view got to see it. Then we got a Bansomweight bout between TKO Mizugaki and Rani Yaya. Mizugaki defeated Yaya. It's a bit surprising by unanimous decision. This is Yaya's second fight loss in a row. So he's in a bit of trouble but... - It's unfortunate 'cause he used to be able. He's still considered one of the top 10 in the world for that division but he's now starting to fall a little bit out of that. - He needs to make a comeback or else he's gonna be in trouble. Then we got Featherweight bout Chad Mendez versus Anthony Morrison. Mendez defeated Morrison by submission. This is a guillotine choke at 2.13 of round one. This was also aired on Spike. - That was actually pretty impressive guillotine. You did a lot of good wrestling on this one and you just managed to catch it very, very quickly against the cage so it's a pretty choke. - Yeah, it was definitely a nice looking choke. Not the best choke of the night but we'll get to that later. And then we got a Bansomweight bout between Brad Pickett and Demetrius Johnson. - This was a great fight. - Yeah, this was an interesting, this was an entertaining fight definitely. Pickett won by a unanimous decision. And this was also aired, this was aired after the Brown Gambirian fight. So it was really nice pay-per-view that pretty much all these fights got to see the air so you got to see everything. - For sure there was a lot of finishes. And I mean, one thing about this fight, Demetrius Johnson is actually very small for the 135 division which is absurd. And they're saying that if they ever come up with a flyweight division which is, they're playing on doing 125, he could cut to that and do very well with this. - He'd be the favorite, yeah, definitely. I mean, he's a great striker and he's taking on a much better wrestler. So this is just a back and forth brawl with him using a lot of his quickness and strikes and facing a lot of takedowns, a lot of slams, a lot of technical ground work. So I mean, it's incredibly entertaining to watch because there's always like a lot of action that people throw in punches or someone getting slammed. - Yeah, it's not one of those lie on top of the other person and grind about. - I mean, 'cause the thing is his opponent was strong enough to slam him, but Demetrius Johnson throws six. - Yeah, you know, you can't keep the guy down. - And it's hard to lie on somebody and grind when you're 135 pounds. That sort of makes these weight classes so interesting. - I mean, this probably didn't fight a night on any other card. - On any other card, but not this one, we'll tell you why in a minute. So then we go to the Spike TV card, which was two bouts. The first was lightweight bout between Alex Carlaxis and Anthony Pettis. Pettis won this one by submission, a triangle choke. And this is at 135 around two. Now, what I really wanna talk about, though, is the featherweight bout and the fight of the night between Leonard Garcia and the Korean zombie, Chen Sung-jong. - Now, Jung is making his WBC North American paper view debut with this. So first time anyone's seen him in North America on, you know, fighting on our shores. He's called the Korean zombie because of stylies. He comes forward and he's got an incredible chin. He can take-- - He doesn't stop. - He just keeps coming at you. - And he's really, really pale. - So he's pale and he comes at you just like, you basically have to shoot him, like a living dead to stop him. He's incredible. - Now, before this, Garcia had said, this guy's basically the Korean version of me because Garcia is a striker who comes right at you with wild swings too. - I find Garcia to be a little more just energetic, though, when he comes forward. - Well, he's a lot more bouncing on his feet like a North American boxer. - Exactly. - Because Greg Jackson's jam is trained him. And he said, you know, keep mobile, move your head. Like, Jung just comes right at you. - Yeah, he just goes straight forward and just doesn't stop. - Yeah, but Garcia, man, they're both, they had styles make fight. These guys had very similar styles. - Yeah, so this fight was fantastic. It was just wild, crazy swinging. There were some awesome slams. It was just a mixed bag of really great stuff. Jung dropped Garcia in the first round and it looked like he was gonna take this, but Garcia got back up. And then I think Garcia dropped Jung at one point. This was just back and forth. The crowd was all over it. The crowd was bouncing and jumping up and down. And I couldn't believe that these guys-- - Huge crowd reaction. - I could not believe that these guys stayed on their feet for all this. They were getting hit with bombs, just absolute bombs. - I mean, Garcia is known as a hard striker. At one point, he hit Jung with a full field flurry. - Yeah. - Like every shot, Jung actually yelled at him. Like, "Come on, bring more." The Jung fired back. He hit him with a flurry, dropped him. Got in top of it, he should start pounding him. Garcia escaped that and said, "Okay, come on, you bring more." - Yeah. - You know, they kept challenging. - Well, they were smiling at each other, yelling at each other. I mean, this was, yeah, this was, this was so far. - This is two guys, so much fun. - Everything in the ring really, really gave it their all. They were saying it was the fight of the century. I don't know if I'm going that far, but like, so far, there's gonna be hard to top this for far to the year. - It's far to the year for now. I mean, we're only in the end of April, but it looks like fight of the year. Anyway, anyway. - One thing to note about this, one more comment. This one on Spike TV to try to track people into the pay-per-view, 'cause they know it's like these guys are gonna stand and bang. Now, when this fight started on Spike TV, its viewership was about 800,000, so a rating about 0.8. By the time the 15-minute fight was over, the rating had doubled to 1.5 million. Everyone tuned in to see this fight. It was incredible. This is another, like, four-script and versus Stefan Bonner kind of-- - Yep. - This is gonna be a pop icon, I think. - Yeah, this is the perfect fight to air on Spike just before your pay-per-view starts. I mean, the amount of, I mean, I'm not saying that all those people who tuned in to watch the Spike show jumped onto the pay-per-view, but you definitely soaked up some buys with that. - You picked up 700,000 viewers on pay-per-view, even if only, you know, one in 100 view it, even if you lose seven, like if you go down to 7,000, that's less than less than a little buy rate. - It's still 7,000 more buys, right? - I mean, they said that their break even point on this was for them to justify doing another WC pay-per-view, they need to have 70,000 buys. - Yeah. - So if they got 10% of the people that came in on that. - Then that's just the, that's the extra people that bought the pay-per-view. If you get 10% of the people who tuned into that, that Spike fight, you've got your break even. And that doesn't even include the people who bought your pay-per-view in the first place. Based on Aldo, pretty much the entire city of San Francisco, not San Francisco, Sacramento, you know, that wasn't at the show bought the pay-per-view, like let's face it, it's Faber Town over there. The mayor gave him like the key to the city. They declared it your eye a Faber day. So yeah, this, this, this pay-per-view could not have gone better. So with that, let's go to the main card. So we got a Bantamweight battle between Antonio Benuelos and Scott Jorgensen. - Now Jorgensen wasn't originally set to fight Benuelos, he had a different point, he had to pull a due to injury. Jorgensen has been on a hot streak lately. - He's one about three or four fights in a row. - Three or four in a row. He's previously lost to Benuelos, that was his last loss. So they said, you know what Jorgensen, you're an up-and-comer, we're gonna give you a chance to avenge your loss. Benuel said, well, you know what, he's lost me before, he's gonna lose to me again. First round, I thought it was possible, but it almost came out strong, hit Jorgensen with a lot of shots, but Jorgensen toughed it out. - So once Jorgensen's able to, you know, put on the takedowns and really work his style of fighting, then I mean, I think Benuelos might have gassed a little bit later in the fight. So Jorgensen was able to, I keep calling him Jorgensen, but Jorgensen was able to jump in, get the takedowns, grind them out. Basically, and as you probably would have predicted, Jorgensen won this fight by unanimous decision. So what's good about this is, that kind of breaks Jorgensen into the elite of the Bansomweight division, with, you know, obviously Cruz and the injured Bulls and Benavidez. - They were saying that this is a number one contender's match. If Jorgensen is healthy enough to fight, he may well be the next guy to get Cruz. - Yeah, that's possible. - So that'd be interesting because Cruz is known as a wrestler. Jorgensen's got a pretty tight wrestling game himself. That could be a show. - Yeah. But I think they might give, after Benavidez, 'cause I think Benavidez might be already signed. - Benavidez might already be signed. - Yeah, so Jorgensen will get the next shot. And you know what, he's an exciting guy, so he deserves it. And he put on a good show here. So then we go to the fight that I enjoy, because I didn't call it on the air, but I assure everybody that I called this fight correctly. - Steve and I did mess up. - Yeah. - So Anthony Angiquani versus Shane Roller. I like Roller. I think she was really impressive the last time we saw him. Two WBC shows ago, I think, or something like that. And he's a great wrestler, and he used that wrestling prowess to get a rear naked choke victory in 321 of the first rounder of Angiquani. So. - Well, one thing I want to say about this is, we've previously seen Anthony Angiquani using his very, very good takedown defense. And Steve and I said, if you can stuff Roller's takedowns, he can probably win this fight standing. Unfortunately, he was not able to. Roller shot on him very early in the first round. Anthony Angiquani jumped back from that. Roller got him up against the cage and took him down anyways, got to top position, and just beautifully kind of like stretched him out, rolled him, got on his back, choked him out. No stress with this. - Roller. - Roller easy victory. - For Roller to take, I mean, Roller's got incredible strength and great technique, and for him to take down somebody who's, I mean, the size of Angiquani, who we've said before, cuts a lot of weight to get where he is, it's really impressive. - Well, Roller cuts too. - Oh, it cuts too, yeah. - That's a big thing is Roller was big enough to hang with Angiquani. You know, six foot Angiquani had a four inch height advantage over Horadecki. - Yeah. - I think it was actually a five inch hard. - It was up there. It was something like that. - You know, he had a two inch height advantage over Roller, who's 510. - Yeah. - So, I mean, they were similar and often sized. - Yeah, so. - So anyway, Roller takes that, and that moves him up in the lightweight division. So, it'd be interesting to see what he does next. He's probably, I'd say he's maybe fourth or fifth in line for a shot, something like that. Anyway, so then we go to the featherweight bout between Mike Brown and Manny Gimburian. Now, this-- - This is the first one where Steve and I messed up. - I messed this up too. I don't think, I think very few people called this fight correctly. I mean, if you did, good on you, because Gimburian shocked Brown and me and Dave and Steve, and probably most of us, with a KO at 222 of the first round. He caught Brown, he absolutely caught him. And it looked, it was interesting because Brown actually caught Gimburian, but it was sort of a glancing blow. Gimburian came back and just nailed him. - Right on the chin. - Right on the chin. And Brown went down like a sack of potatoes. I just, I was so shocked. - And the thing is, Gimburian's so well known for his judo and for his ground game that I forgot about how powerful he is for the division. He hit Brown full on and just put the lights out. So, Manny Gimburian picks up an impressive win. Scott Brown is incredible fighter. - Mike Brown. - I'm sorry, sir, Mike Brown is an incredible fighter. Still think of Scott Jorgensen. So, Mike Brown, incredible fighter. He just clubbed him. Manny Gimburian, this moves him up according to the Shirdog ratings. - I think he's going for the title. - He's got a two hole of the division and he's probably got the next title shot. So, although he might have to have an interesting match up here with Gimburian, he's got a rock solid champ. - Well, Gimburian, I mean, he's very, very quick and he's compact and he's very, very strong. And he's got a good camp too. I mean, a lot of people poke fun at Parisian and whatever, but Parisian is a good fighter. He's a great fighter. Aside from all the extraneous problems that he's had and Karan Darbedian's no slouch either. So, I mean, he's got a good camp and he trains really hard. So, I mean, it's surprising that he won, but it's not that surprising. And he is someone who is a contender. I mean, he looked great in his last fight before this one. - Well, we said last week he was considered normally a bit of a shoe in for a title shot. He definitely validated it. I mean, he evaluated the faith that they have in him, so. - Yeah, so that'll be something to look forward to. Anyway, then we go to the first of two title fights. We got the lightweight championship boat between Ben Smooth Henderson, who we call Bendo, and Donald Saroni, the cowboy. Now, this fight was another shocker, not necessarily because of the winner, because I think all of us, I think you called Henderson to win. I thought Henderson was gonna win too. He did, but he beat Saroni by submission, only a minute 57 in to round one. People were expecting this fight to be an absolute barn burner like their last fight and go to decision, but Ben Henderson had different ideas. - Well, he's been training super hard and he said that he's kind of figured out Henry Saroni's ground game. He came up very, very fast out of the gate, took the fight to the ground, and he locked in an incredible guillotine choke, which is how he won the championship as well. - Yep, how'd he be a barner? - So this is two guillotine choke victories in a row. He thanked Jesus for the power of his choke. I'm literally not kidding about that. - Well, he's very religious. He's into, he goes to church every Sunday. - He's very, he's very, he calls me with a reason. - Yeah, he's very relaxed, he's, he's actually quite, I think he's a decent ambassador role model. I mean, his preview, like the spike preview showed him, you know, I don't go to clubs, I just go and read. I go to the bookstore and read and have a coffee. I mean, he's definitely a clean cut individual, not with his hair, but clean cut in his lifestyle. So, you know, I gotta give him credit for that. He's just a likable likable guy. - He's very likable like that. - Sony is more of a, you know, almost an unlikable figure, which makes it kind of like a bit of a heel versus villain. But Sony's got a good sense of humor. He's a good talker, he can get you into the fight. - Well, he's not a jerk, but he's, he's, he's outspoken. I mean, he's, he's a, he's a southern guy. You know, he likes to shoot his guns and he has a ranch. He likes to shoot his guns and ride his horses and whatever. But, but I mean, I didn't, I mean, this spike special didn't, I don't think it's painted him as a bad guy. I think it just, you know, showed his lifestyles, different lifestyles. - Very different lifestyles. So, Bendo picks up an incredible win with a guillotine choke. This was a submission of the night, well deserved 'cause this was incredible for him to pull this off. And with this, Bendo actually moves up to the 10th spot in the lightweight world divisions. - Which is definitely saying something, considering how stacked the UFC lightweight division was. I mean, I was, at first when I saw this, I was a little surprised that he hadn't been in there already. But then taking into account the fact that no one he's beaten is on that list either. Like the, the WBC guys haven't been given as much credit. I guess because it's not as, as prestigious a promotion or something. So now the WBC guys are starting to get some recognition on Sure Dog when it comes to the lightweight division. And I think it's about time because these guys are talented. - Well, I think a lot of like, particularly, particularly smooth. - Smooth can compete realistically with almost anyone in the UFC and certainly anyone in Strikeforce. - Yep. - I think he could have a great match with Gilbert Melendez. - That would be very fun. - They actually referenced that. He's previously been in grappling tournaments against Melendez and has caught Melendez with the guillotine choke and choked him out. So. - Well, I think, you know, he's definitely one of the best in the world. - I find that a lot of the time when I watch the fights, the guillotine, I don't usually take it seriously. It's just one of those things where, oh, he's got him in a guillotine choke. He's probably gonna escape. But for someone to utilize the guillotine over and over again consistently and get tap outs, quick tap outs from very worthy opponents, that's saying something because the guillotine is, I think it's one of the hardest submissions to finish a fight with. - Yeah. - I really do. - Well, it's a hard one to lock in because the positioning is very awkward. - Yeah. - And then, yeah, the opponent has a lot of escape routes. - Yeah. - But, you know, Ben Henderson's got it down. - He's definitely-- - He really does and that's a valuable weapon. - Now, with that being said, he's actually got a pretty well-developed striking game, too. - Oh, yeah, definitely. - You know, he's a very good guy. I think we'll see Henderson as a WC lightweight champ for a while and if he does decide to go on towards UFC, I think he's competitive with, you know, the only guys that could see in the division who I would realistically think he's got a shot against him would be Florian, B.J., and Frank Yeager. - Yeah, I mean, I think more guys than that have a realistic shot against him. - But he's in that caliber, like, he's in that same team. - Yeah, he's in that same tier. The guys you mentioned are guys that you could see beating him, whereas somebody like a Clay Guida or even a Diego Sanchez would have some trouble, would have a lot of trouble with Beno and Beno would probably be the favorite for that. Anyway, so, personally, I'd just like to throw this in. My favorite WBC fighter, Kamal Schaller is probably, if he beats Jamie Varner, gonna get a shot at Beno, I think. And I'd like to see Schaller is win, but he's gonna be in tough if he happens. - They're actually supposed to be on this card, but unfortunately, Schaller is just coming off an injury. - Yeah. - But they will be fighting in the Edmonton show, yeah. - So, we'll see Schaller soon, and we'll see if he gets to take on Smooth. - Yeah, so anyway, the main event, the one you've all been waiting for, the Featherweight Championship, a boat between Jose Aldo and Uriah Faber, pretty much unanimously across the board, we all thought that Aldo was gonna take this. We thought it would be a tough fight because of how strong and granite, Faber's made it granite, he's just a tough guy. And Aldo did defeat Faber, unanimous decision. And this was an absolute dissection. For some reason, two of the judges, I think, called one of the rounds a draw because there was two 49-45s and one 50-45, which I don't agree with, 'cause I think Aldo just dominated this fight from start to finish. - He blew him out. I mean, he came out with a lot of leg kicks. You know, by the end of this favor was limping. He was not able to move properly. He wasn't able to go for his typical takedowns. - Well, his trainer, I think it was the end of the third or fourth round. His trainer had to pick him up and carry him to the corner. His legs were absolutely fried. You could see the swelling in his knees. There was, there were red swelling all over his knees. His knee was about, one of his knees was twice the size of the other and there were welts all over his legs. And every time he planted to do anything in the third to fifth rounds, you could just see the pain on his face. Aldo kicked his legs out of him numerous times and actually put him down. And by the end of the fight, Faber was just like hoping that Aldo would engage him on the ground. And what I like about Aldo is, may not be the smartest move, but he actually did engage him on the ground. - Yeah, he did. - Which made it very interesting. He didn't just stand there, Allah Anderson Silva and just go, "Ooh, good up, good up, good up." He actually engaged him on the ground, which I think shows a lot of Aldo's class as well and just how entertaining and strong a fighter he is. - So Aldo picks up a win. It wasn't, you know, the barn burner we hoped it would be 'cause it was definitely a one-sided win. - It was one-sided, but I was still very entertained. But we kind of expected to be one-sided 'cause Aldo's such a strong champion. And I think, you know, at featherweight, man, he's gonna be a tough guy to be. - There's no one out there that can beat him at this morning. - Team Breen, you know, you got your work cut off, you man, I hope, I hope for the best for you. - Like Aldo's what now he's ranked fifth pound for pound in the world by sheer dog or something like that. I mean, behind guys like what? Fador and GSP and Silva, you know, BJ Penn. - BJ Penn, like, you're behind those guys? You're something else. So, yeah, that's the WBC card in the nutshell. And it was awesome. The bonuses, I think we went through this already. Garcia and John got fight of the night, which is obvious 'cause it was one of the best fights of the year. Manny Gimburing got knockout of the night. Definitely the shocker of the night. So I think that's definitely worthy. And Ben Henderson's awesome guillotine got him a submission of the night. And each one of these fighters got 65 grand, which is put up by Dana and definitely serving. - This is a huge payday for a lot of these guys. A lot of these guys were not making huge money 'cause the WBC is not as profitable as the UFC. But Dana gave it full bonus, paid these guys well for the performances they put on, and they guys came out to show it. - Yeah. - So go forward to some news. And it's gonna be a little bit of a newsy show. First of all, Carrie Vera, the female fighter, wife of Brendan Vera, has been forced to pull out in front of the tournament for the Female Bantamweight Championship due to back injury. For upcoming fights, we have some announcements. Joe Stevenson and Tackenor Gomi is now strongly, strongly rumored for the upcoming show in Salt Lake City. Meanwhile, Roy Nelson has been signed to fight Chek Kongo. - Which makes perfect sense. And I'm not even being sarcastic. I'm actually being honest about this. This is true. - Kongo is a big guy who can handle Nelson's size. Nelson's a great striker who can not get knocked out and I'd argue that they're about the same place on the car too. So it makes perfect sense for this fight. - So they have been signed, and as well, Nate Markcourt will be taking on the expere, LSCO Sakara, who's got a great striking game. So this is gonna be two strikers battling. - That's gonna be a fun fight. You know what? Markcourt rarely has an entertaining fight. I mean, he got an entertaining fight at a jail sawning. That's saying stuff. He deserves a medal for that. - So now these two fights have been added to the show being headlined by Brock Lesnar and Shane Carlin. - That card is stacked. - So this makes this an incredibly stacked card. I must see, this is gonna be a huge buy rate. So going forward from there, the other fight being negotiated. It hasn't been signed yet, but it is in negotiation. It's strongly, strongly rumored. Randy Couture will be taking him on UFC newcomer, or most likely becoming on UFC newcomer. James lights out Tony. The professional boxer will make his debut against the professional mixed martial arts fighter. Couture is gonna destroy him. - Couture is definitely gonna have an edge, but. - I hope he does. - Couture style relies on dirty boxing. Tony's a boxer. He's fought similar guys before. You know, he might be able to come up with something. - He'll be able to come up with something. And he's obviously gonna be dangerous with the punter's chance and everything, but Couture is strong enough and good at grinding enough that he'll grind out Tony. I mean, this might go to a decision, in fact, I probably will, but Couture is gonna get it like a unanimous decision in this fight, I think. So we'll look forward to seeing if they actually do sign this fight. Now, going forward, we have some Jake Shields news. Now, Jake Shields is the Strike Force championship of. - Middleweight championship. - Middleweight championship. - Middleweight, yeah. - He's fought his last fight with Strike Force. They do have the ability to retain him for one more match in up to three months. But beyond that, he's a free agent. He has no more contract. At the WEC pay-per-view, he showed up signing, sitting right next to Dana White. Dana White literally put his arm around Jake Shields's shoulder, hugged him. They were smiling and laughing. - He must, I got him to the camera. - So, I think the cat's probably out of the bag on that one. - So Dana and his interview afterwards, people asked me about that. Dana said Jake Shields is definitely going to leave Strike Force and he's definitely coming to UFC. He stood up for Jake Shields saying that he's involvement with the post-match brawl, was minimal. - Yep. - And that Strike Force deserved it because of how poorly they treated Shields. He was a champion and they literally put him as an underdog against Dan Henderson. - Well, they gave him no time on the set up. I mean, on the hype special, they gave him no time. It's painfully obvious that the Strike Force doesn't respect Jake Shields. And Dana will definitely respect Jake Shields. And Dana's talking about having shields versus GSP coming up. So, I mean, that's about as much respect as you can give any fighter. - Now, with that being said, because he was involved in that post-match brawl, even preferably, and because that rating that showed Drew is such a poor rating, Strike Force doesn't really want to get into a bidding war for Jake Shields, 'cause he's not a huge draw, even though he's got the title about. And now Chuck Liddell, who's Shields's friend and training partner, sent a message to Dana and said, "Do you really have them?" And Dana White said, "I'm making them the offer." - Yeah. - So Jake Shields is almost certainly coming to the UFC at this point. Dana does like to talk some smack, but yeah, he doesn't make a guarantee unless he thinks he can back it up. He thinks he's got Shields. - Well, for, I mean, Shields would be an idiot not to come to UFC. He would be Gegard Masassie. - Not to come to UFC, which-- - He's definitely gonna get a pay raise. He's definitely gonna get a good title shot. - Yeah. - And it's definitely gonna hurt Strike Force to lose their champion. - Yeah. - Two more promotion. - I mean, Strike Force is looking more and more like a Mickey Mouse organization, as far as I'm concerned. - Well, I predicted the death of Strike Force within 18 months after that disaster with CBS. - 18 months might be a little short, but I definitely predict their demise very soon. - I think they're spending too much money on the big names they have, and I think that if they're in danger of losing the CBS contract, if they lose it, they're not gonna make the money. - Oh yeah, there's no way. And people aren't gonna buy their pay per views. If they do do pay per views, do they even do pay per views at this point? - They haven't. They're using the CBS shows to set up pay per views, and if they lose the CBS shows, their pay per views are correct. And like 10 people watch challengers. So anyway, moving on. - So going forward, we have some news about a fighter you may not have heard about called Harold Howard. He was in the finals of the UFC three. One of the original ones, back to him. - We're going way back on this one, yeah. - Now, Howard managed to make it into the finals with a win over Roy Scracie. Ken Shamrock was gonna be his opponent, but Shamrock said, "I don't wanna fight "anyone but Roy Scracie." He's the reason I came here to fight. So he pulled out, 'cause then he was injured. And then Howard, unfortunately, was defeated by Steve Genum, the guy who came in on the by. Now, he's had some issues, including he had a dispute with his wife where he accused her of cheating on him and kicked her with a low kick, a UC low kick, waltzing her leg. She threw him out, so he moved in with his sister and his nephew, her son. Unfortunately, after that, he went crazy. - He threw the low kick, then went crazy. - He showed up to the Toronto Star offices. He lives in Toronto, so he's a Canadian fighter. And with blood and kick clothing after attacking his sister and her son with a claw end of a hammer. - We repeat the claw end of a hammer. - After this, he fled, stole a car, drove to his former wife's house, went up to the door and kicked it. The wife emerged with his son. He decided not to get her further with a son there. So he fled. The police gave chase, he drove two Niagara Falls where the chase sprawled out of control and he crashed into the front and the casino. - Oh, man. - So that is all for Harold Howard for the next five years. He's pled guilty and he's received a five-year sentence. So that's a good for him. That's a good, that's a former UFC fighter going crazy. - Now speaking of, speaking of spousal abuse. - Speaking of spousal abuse. - Unless you've been under a rock, you haven't, you've definitely heard of our next story, but Dave's gonna give you some Tito news. - Some Tito news in our upcoming Tito week. Now you know what Tito's been played. He's become our new Brock Lesnar. So in this week's Tito update, you know he's been playing with some bad news, including his threats last week, to fight any fan that said he was a wuss. - You guys tried to get me into a fight with him. - My phone was good with you. - I'm not interested in that, that's a... - On this Monday, he was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence against his common law partner and mother of his two twin children, Jenna Jamison. Jenna accused him of striking her. Now today, or sorry, Tuesday he came out and he gave his own statement. Now I was initially inclined to believe the least worst about Tito, because he does have a previous charge. - He's got a reputation, I mean. - He's got the previous charge for salt, where he was in jail for 29 days and is in through his probation. So he's definitely the kind of guy who might take a swing at his wife in anger. - That's the whole challenging his fans thing. - With that said, his statement yesterday through his attorney and his own self, his attorney said he never struck Jenna Jamison. They did get into an altercation. He may have grabbed her, but he didn't do anything beyond that. And the altercation started with Jenna Jamison, who is a former drug addict. Tito believes that she's relapsed into Oxycontin. He found Oxycontin drugs in the home. - Supposedly. - He confronted her about it. She had an emotional breakdown and after that, he laughed and Jenna Jamison's father called the police. So afterwards, Tito came out and he was crying. He was visibly weeping. He said there's been a history of addiction to my family. What I'm seeing with Jenna is a mirror of what has happened to my family. She's close to my heart. That's why I was so angry, but I never hit her. I never laid my hands on her, et cetera. Now, with that being said, not, first of all, as I said, I do believe that he was the kind of guy who might give his wife a grabbing in anger. - But Jenna Jamison, which is never a good idea, I could condemn and reject you. With that being said, Jenna Jamison does have a history of drug abuse, which he hasn't been to. - Anyone who's read her autobiography, which Dave and I both have, oddly enough, knows a lot. - We did research for this article. - Yes, we researched this article. But she's got, there's a lot of stuff in there in that book and she's got a history of abuse. He's got a history of violence too. I mean, as was previously mentioned, this, I think this is a story that, you kind of believe both sides and you don't believe both sides at the same time. You really don't know whose side to take on this because it's a lot of speculation. If Tito's struck her, then I have no respect to that, obviously. - I have no, I have no respect for Tito one way or the other, but I certainly don't respect that. With that being said, Jenna Jamison in her statement said, I'm completely shocked. Tito is a loving, sweet man, and I've always supported him through everything. And for him to lash out at me like this, just shocking and I feel completely betrayed. Now, when she made this statement, she had her arm in a brace because she says that he didn't hit her, but he did grab her and throw her down injuring her right arm. Now, while she had her arm in her brace, she was holding her child in that arm, her newborn twin daughter. So her arm was working well enough for that. Afterwards, when she left, she took the arm brace off and then paparazzi took shots of her as she left and went to Las Vegas with her friends with no brace. - Yeah. - So it's a kind of a common thing in divorce proceedings to say, oh, I was a little, you know, her, you know, shoulder and neck brace, this and that. This feels like-- - And they are common loss. I mean, there is, they're there-- - And there's money in the boys. - Jenna Jamison's a legitimate millionaire. - Oh yeah, she's-- - She's called Jenna. - She's got tons of money. He's got probably a good set of money too. So both of these, both of these people-- - There's children involved. - Yeah, there's children involved. I mean, if they do break up, this is messy. And I'm sure both of them, if they are planning to break up, are probably looking for leverage. You know, they both got their lawyers on it. I think that, I mean, Dana said that if there was a spousal abuse and that comes out, then he will cut Tito. I think he's gonna cut Tito anyway. I don't think Dana wants any part of this. With Tito having been messy and confused lately with pulling out of the chocolate alfite and having various other issues, he and Dana have had arguments before. With, if he's a wife, Peter, Dana's cutting the guy for sure. Dana said that the only thing worse you can do than abusing your wife is going on a killing spree. As far as we know, Tito has not gone on a killing spree. - Wait. (laughing) - But with that being said, you know-- Unless some of his fans send him some emails. (laughing) And then he just might. - Well with that being said, I mean, as I said, this is kind of one of those weird stories where I believe both sides. I legitimately believe that Tito does feel that Jenna Jameson is a drug abuser. I legitimately do believe that Jenna Jameson feels that Tito or Tito's got rough with her. - Yeah, and he probably, I'm thinking that he probably did get rough with her and she was probably hiding oxycottons around the house. And when you've got kids in the house, you're hiding oxycottons around the house. I mean, nobody kitchen me around that. Like, that's ridiculous. So yeah, it's just one of those things where you can't really take a side because both parties are in the wrong, I guess. It's messy. - You know, it's a bad situation, but we're definitely gonna keep an eye on that and keep you updated. Hopefully, we hope the best for them. We hope Jenna Jameson is not in drugs. We hope that Tito and Tito and Tito did not abuse her. - Didn't hit her. - But we'll see what goes forward with that. So with that being said, we are about out of time for the week.
