Welcome to Kudlow. I'm Larry Kudlow. Former President Trump gives his keynote speech tonight to the Republican National Convention. And literally, I believe the entire world will be watching. Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson will be here visiting us on that and other points as well. And we think the Trump's strength and Trump's tough is what the country needs. That's the subject of the rift this evening. All right, we got a little music background, but we're used to it here on the Kudlow show. As soon as I show up here in the balcony, they start playing the music. So here we go again. But all eyes are going to be on President Donald Trump tonight as he gives the keynote speech at the Republican Convention here in Milwaukee and as he accepts his party's third nomination for president. It will be Mr. Trump's first speech since the horrific assassination attempt on his life where God intervened to prevent the unthinkable from happening. I was saved by the grace of God, the former president has said. My guess is virtually the entire world will be watching this speech. And my expectation is that Mr. Trump will continue a theme he was developing before the assassination attempt. And that is successful, common sense policies will unite the country. Here, take a listen to have the president summed it up before this assassination attempt. Every day we are welcoming more Americans to our ranks, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Asian Americans, young people, old people, union members, non-union members. Basically, everyone is joining our movement because it's a movement of common sense. Additionally, and very importantly, Mr. Trump may well speak about his personal feelings after the horrible assassination attempt and how providential interference may have changed him. Everyone will be looking for those things. Now, in terms of his policy messaging, I'm going to go back to the platform, which I have said before is the growthiest platform in over four decades, harking back to Ronald Reagan, tax cuts, deregulation, drill baby drill, secure the border. Here, take a listen to it. The biggest problem is that their policies are no good. Their policies are horrible. Americans want strong borders, not open borders. We want low taxes, not high taxes. We want American energy independence, not all electric cars and the green new scam. It's the greatest scam. Above all, we want America first, not America last. By the way, Mr. Trump's speech was previewed by Senator JD Vance's vice presidential acceptance speech last night, where Mr. Vance emphasized his hard, scrabble background, his Marine Corps service, and his reaching out to work and families, take a listen to it. The lack of good jobs, of course, led to stagnant wages. And then the Democrats flooded this country with millions of illegal aliens. So citizens had to compete with people who shouldn't even be here for precious housing. Joe Biden's inflation crisis, my friends, is really an affordability crisis. And many of the people that I grew up with can't afford to pay more for groceries, more for gas, more for rent, and that's exactly what Joe Biden's economy has given them. All right, powerful stuff, perhaps more than anything else, Donald Trump's going to be standing in front of the GOP convention on his feet with plenty of energy and with a message that is wildly popular among voters. The Joe Biden Democrats have attacked him, impeached him, weaponized the justice system with lawfare against him, tried to bankrupt him, and then some crazy kid actually tried to assassinate him. But Mr. Trump will be there tonight standing tall with strength and toughness for all the world to see. I call it Trump's strength. I call it Trump tough. And I think it's the kind of leadership that all of America and America's friends around the world are yearning for. And that is my riff. All right, we're going to take a break. We've got Speaker Johnson right here. Let's go straight to Fox News, Aisha Hasney, who's going to break us up today on some of the news. I show. What's cooking? Larry, good to see you. It's not just about the words that are going to come out of the former president's mouth. It's about the image of seeing him there on stage that so many of these delegates are so looking forward to. We're getting the first details of what we can expect tonight. We know that UFC president Dana White will be introducing the former president onto the stage. And we're also learning that the former First Lady Melania Trump, as well as Jared and Ivanka Kushner, will be in the family suite watching as the president starts to speak. And he is going to address the nation for the first time in person since that assassination attempt. Here's Alina Haba, his attorney, talking about how the president has been feeling all week and how he's feeling going into this. He's grateful for life. He's grateful for the support of all the Americans that have been out here at the RNC. He feels the energy. He feels the love we all do. Now it's unclear, Larry, if Trump will address the shooting itself, but Fox is told his speech will focus on unity and his policies and that you're going to hear from a changed man who escaped death. I can tell you that after last Saturday, just by a quarter of an inch, avoiding being killed by a gunman, President Trump tore up the speech that he had. It said, I need to redo this as a different tone. I have to lay out the pathway forward, how we unite the country, not just with words in tone, which are very important, but also with how we bring about that success. And at the end of the night, Larry, when he is wrapped up with his speech, he'll be joined on stage with his vice presidential nominee, Senator JD Vance, and both of their families. And then we'll see that big balloon drop at the end of this convention. Larry. All right. Thanks very, very much, join me now, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Speaker, we appreciate your patience very, very much. Welcome to American Bandstand. That's the way it works here. Wait, you're the consummate professional, Professor Kudlow. You just did this with the Star Spangled Banner and you, but it's amazing, flawless, flawless television. I tell you what, the Star Spangled Banner is a darn sight better than some of the electric rock and roll I've had to put up with earlier in the week. But again, we appreciate, we appreciate your patience, just kind of, I'm sure you've thought about it. Maybe you've seen the speech off the top of your head. What do you expect them to say? I love what I should just said there. I think the tone is going to be very important. I've spent some time with the president, as you know, since the assassination of Tim. He's in a great place right now, Larry. You know him well as I do. In his heart and in his head, he's in exactly where the country would want our future president to be. Even unprecedented challenges as a country, everybody's fed up with everything. The world's on fire. We need a president who is contemplative, right? And I think Donald Trump is in that place right now. You can see it on his face, on the countenance of his face. We know it by speaking with him and talking with him about the experience and where he is. I think it's an incredible night for the country and a great opportunity for him and for all of us. When I spoke to him Monday afternoon actually, interesting, I mean, all I wanted to hear was his voice because his first time I was able to get through after the after the assassination time. But actually he was talking to me about speech writing. He was going to plagiarize one of my introductions that he had just seen on TV. I mean, he was right there into policies and he just sounded like Donald Trump. I mean, that's the way he is. So I was encouraged by that now. My point to you is you've seen a lot of these things. I've seen a lot of these platforms. This is the growthiest platform and directly at working folks, middle class working folks that I've ever seen or at least in four decades since Reagan. What do you think about that? Yeah. I think that's right. I think that assessment is right. It streamlined, of course, but I think it's a reflection of where we're going to go in the new Congress. We anticipate that President Trump is going to win a second term. It will have the House majority and the Senate majority. So we'll have unified government in a time of unification for the country. We need to have an aggressive agenda to pursue. And so we'll do that. First hundred days of the Congress and beyond, you're going to see a very aggressive pro-growth approach. I love the fact that JD Vance was chosen as VP and he's been on that stage last night and talked about the issues of working class Americans. He comes from that. I come from that. It resonates with people. He can look right into the eyes and the hearts of America and say, "I understand what you're going through." That's a really important component to the ticket. President Trump represents that for hardworking people and we're going to deliver the policies that assist all of them. You know, if you have a Republican in the White House and maybe a Senate Republican, your jobs can be much more fun, Mr. Speaker. Oh, yes it is. Really? I mean, I don't think you've... I think you're a brain guy, but you haven't had that much fun so far in your position. I've been a wartime Speaker since I took the gavel. That's true. New Gingrich posted an op-ed and several weeks ago he said, "Johnson has the most challenging speakerships since the Civil War, six years ago I said, "Nude, come on, man." He said, "No. You're doing an excellent job, but the job is very difficult. I had a one-vote margin for five months." Yes. Yes. We will grow that majority. I'm confident and the job will be easier and more fun and we're going to have fun because we're going to be delivering for the American people. When you get unified government and you get conservatives, Republicans in charge of this, we will fix this mess and I've told President Trump, "You could be the most consequential president of the modern era, because, sir, we have to fix everything." And I think we can. You may have some co-tails, which are going to help you in the house too, as you've just suggested. Last one, Speaker Johnson, and this is something that it calls me. But you are a constitutional scholar, okay, and you've been in court and representing that. Here's Joe Biden in recent times attacking the Supreme Court. Now, mind you, Biden is supposed to be defending democracy, accusing Mr. Trump of attacking democracy, nonsense. Biden's attacking the Supreme Court and more recently, really going back and saying, "I'm going to pack the Supreme Court if I'm reelected." Now, I have no idea if he's even going to be their candidate, but whoever's their candidate may wind up saying the same thing. What do you make of that? He's going to pack the court. He's going to run against the Supreme Court. It's not on the ballot exactly, Donald Trump is. But what do you make of that? It's total absurdity. It shows how desperate they are. And of course, it's not even constitutional. Who cares? He's not hemmed him by the Constitution. He also forgave another couple billion dollars in student loans today, supposedly. Oh, today? Oh, yeah. I haven't even heard that. Yeah, terrific. Why not? Right? They're not bound by any constitutional principle. Obviously, justices on the court sit for life. So long as they maintain good behavior, that's in the Constitution. Whatever Joe Biden is proposing, it is dead on arrival in the House. I'm the Speaker. It ain't coming to the floor, Larry. I promise you that. That's nonsense. So his hero FDR tried to pack the Supreme Court and wound up losing control of Congress over that. That was probably a low point of FDR. They're dumb enough to try that again. Nothing surprises us anymore. All right. You guys smile on your face. The vibe here is awfully good, isn't it? It's great. The vibe here is united and optimistic. Good vibe. I feel it myself. I've seen a lot of these. It's a good vibe. He's the same here. The biggest in my life. Speaker Mike Johnson. Great to see you. Thank you ever so much for helping us. Yeah. All right, folks. Why hasn't the head of the Secret Service been fired yet? All right. The evidence is mounting. We'll talk about it with Senator Kevin Kramer. Next up on Kublo. I'm Pete Haggseth, and I'm a co-host of Fox and Friends Weekend. Just like anybody else, there used to be a lot of reasons why I voted, whether it's taxes or the military. But today, there's really only one reason. My kids. I asked myself the question, what kind of country? What kind of future are they going to inherit? And, you know, that's on me. That's on all of us. So I think in 2024, we, the people, need to vote like it. Hey, I'm Ryo. We thank you for your more than eight years of distinguished service to the State for Police Department and to your handler, Corporal Riley. We appreciate you ensuring his safety, each and every shift. You can now take your well-deserved rep. K9 Ryo is 1042, including for retirement. How cool is that? K9 Officer Ryo is hanging up his collar after eight years of service with his Georgia Police Department. In that viral video, sweeping the nation, retired K9 Officer Ryo and his handler, Corporal Kyle Briley. Join us now. Good morning to you both. Like I said, it's such a cool moment that was caught on camera, and it's been viewed by millions of people on Instagram and Twitter. So Corporal Riley, tell us about Ryo, his time as a K9 Officer, and what sets him apart? Hey, thanks for having us. Ryo's been serving with our city for eight and a half years. He's done a great job, and he's just excited to now go to retired life. Yeah, done a great job. He was deployed 3,146 times, assisted in 832 arrests. He looks cute on the couch, but if you're a criminal, I have a feeling the last thing you want to see is him charging at you. Yeah, his mere presence alone kind of deterred a lot of crime. I'll bet. So what's life going to be like for him now that he's retired? A lot of sleep, treats, and probably eating a lot more food and relaxing a little bit. Honeybees are responsible for pollinating 80 percent of flowering plants in the United States, including more than 100 of the fruits and vegetables we rely on. And all those pollinated crops come with a huge profit of roughly $18 billion, but those benefits are at risk. According to data collected from the nonprofit group, B-informed partnership between April of 2020 to April 2021, beekeepers in the U.S. lost almost 50 percent of their colonies, with losses attributed to climate change, harmful farming techniques, and the use of pesticides. But bee colonies aren't just dwindling here in the states. Conditions in Chile are also creating quite the buzz. Bees are dying. Bees are important worldwide. According to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the U.S. imports roughly $2 billion worth of fruits and nuts from Chile, meaning the flow of those goods could be disrupted if their bee population dramatically decreases. All right, we're going to pretend back in we were a business show. There was over 500 points sell off in the Dow Jones today in the stock market, and we will report it. Now that's wrong. Lydia who will report it? Lydia, what's good? What happened today? Hey, Larry, there was a lot that happened today. You know, we started off with the market looking to stage a rebound after a plummet in the semiconductor stocks yesterday that led to a losing session yesterday, but instead we saw all three indices. They raised early gains in a sell off all finishing in the red. You can see the Dow down 533, the S&P down by 43 in the NASDAQ losing 125 worth noting Larry that we saw these losses really gaining steam and the latter part of the day as we also see pressure on Joe Biden mounting that election uncertainty growing as he's facing questions about whether he's going to stay in this race. The semiconductor companies we can check those out because they did manage to recover somewhat after concerns about tighter restrictions on chip sales in China. You can see Nvidia up higher than two and a half percent today still down overall for the week. Big tech. We can take a look at the magnificent seven. They've posted losses today too. Early across the board, almost we see some green down here for meta, but Amazon down more than two percent Apple down more than two percent finally Larry investors. They are digesting new labor market data today. The latest jobless claims rose their highest levels in close to a year. That's implying that the labor market is cooling and it's giving investors more reason to bet on a rate cut that's coming sooner rather than later that might have some reasons for the sell off that we're seeing today. Larry will start. Great. Lydia, thank you very, very much folks. We will speak with former Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin in just a little while more on the economy interest rates in the stock market. However, joining us now in North Dakota, Senator Kevin Kramer and Texas Congressman Keith Self, gentlemen, I want to play some tape from our distinguished friend, Senator Marsha Blackburn on this Secret Service assassination mess. Take a listen, please. How could the Secret Service allow their protectee, President Donald Trump, to take the stage at six o'clock when at 551 they had identified a potential threat, 553, they alerted the spotters and the sharpshooters and then at six o'clock they clear him to go on the stage? All right. Thanks for that. That's pretty good question, Senator Kevin Kramer. Mr. Marsha's asking a pretty good question. What do you say? Not only that, but it's an easy question to answer if you're willing to answer it. And it's a simple question. There's a question that several of us tried to ask yesterday on the briefing with Christopher Ray and the head of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheadle, and they wouldn't answer it. So last night we get the good fortune of bumping into her, the director of the Secret Service. She went into a nearby suite. We thought, well, now's our chance to get the question answered. Walk in, try to ask the same question. She says it's not appropriate to talk about it here. We need to go someplace else. We walk out the door and she runs and we chased her and the irritation with the lack of transparency. She ran. You were there. Who else was there? I was there. John Barrasso was there. James Langford, Marsha. So that's four U.S. senators. I know it's not impressive, but four. I say, four U.S. senators, period, full stop. And she says not appropriate to talk. Not to talk, but is it appropriate to talk? That was the question I asked along the whole route through the mezzanine up the stairs to the some broom closet that they all shoved her into and wouldn't let me even get my hand in the door. You look exhausted. It's been a very difficult day. It was a workout. I don't mind telling you, but the point is that there's a tremendous lack of trust which has been well earned in our Secret Service and particularly the leadership, not the rank and file, but the leadership. There was a major problem, security breach problem here. And we're asking the most obvious question, Marsha articulates it perfectly and they don't want to answer it. Congressman Keith Self, also I'm reading today, local police, local police told the Secret Service they could not secure that building where this punk kid crawled up on top of it. They were told that. So let's get this right. There was a threat before the event happened. And then the Secret Service was told that locals couldn't secure the building. So how in the world could the Secret Service ignore this? That building is outside the perimeter to begin with, 150 yards outside the perimeter for a major congressional candidate, former president, makes no sense. You cannot explain that. You can't explain why there was not a sniper on the water tower. You cannot explain these things. I don't have a good explanation, but I will tell you the local police are also saying that the Secret Service told them not to do certain things. And I'm not going to get into the conspiracy theories, but if this sounds like there was a total breakdown between the Secret Service, the state police and the local law enforcement. Whose fault is that? This is where the House of Representatives comes in. Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House, has been very clear. The House of Representatives will conduct an aggressive investigation. And it's going to start as soon as we get back to work on Monday. And he has promised that we will get to the bottom of this because the questions just grow every single day. I mean, I think usually the local Secret Service, field officers, and Secret Service people will give their life to stop a bullet. Usually, this whole thing, though, is a big snafu. They're a Secret Service men and women throughout this convention in the perimeter. And look, I go up to them and thank them for their service. I've worked with them in the White House. I've done that in two terms in the government. But Kevin Kramer, Joe Biden, never fires anybody, never fires anybody. And so many people are telling me in the last several days, not only does this woman need to be fired, but her coachery at the top of the Secret Service needs to be fired. The rank and file Secret Service people are telling me the same thing. So therein lies the big problem. If you're going to restore the trust of the people in the service, you have to fire the person at the top and probably a pretty good layer at the top because these problems, maybe it's a resource problem, maybe it's a communication problem. But these are the responsibility of the leadership and the fact that they want to answer basic questions to members of Congress, to whom they're accountable, that's never going to lift the confidence. I got to get out of here. You guys are great. Senator Kevin Kramer, Carlson, Keith Sealth. Thank you ever so much. We appreciate it. All right, folks, former Treasurer, Secretary Steven Mnuchin. He sees the slumping economy that needs a dose of Trump tax cuts. Make that a big dose of Trump tax cuts. We will hear from my dear friend in just a moment. Please stick around. As Trump closes out the RNC, don't miss a moment of the final night. First, it's a must-see preview with lawmakers Mullen Tuberville and Tenny on the bottom line. Watch full floor coverage of his speeches featuring the former President's Message to America tonight on Fox Business. Now some of you might have pets at home to take care of when hurricanes hit, but what about our zoos or animal sanctuaries, like here at Flamingo Gardens, where they have hundreds to take care of when the storms come. We hate using the H word around here. We've been spared pretty good here, you know, recently. A good thing for Michael Ruggari and over 400 animals that live at Flamingo Gardens. We're home to permanently injured Florida native wildlife. When they go through our rehab center, the injuries were so severe that it would never really heal correctly and could be released in the wild, we can give it a permanent home. Instead of lions and tigers and bears, it's more like flamingos, bald eagles and peacocks. Even talking crows. When the H word does come around, keeping these guys safe is the focus. 33 years in at the sanctuary, Michael has experienced many of them, including Andrew. Irma, she did a lot of damage too. She took down a couple of our champion trees. One of them was considered about the tallest tree in the peninsula of Florida. So when systems approach and it's time to shelter the animals, we have to literally catch each one. Flamingos, they went into the ladies room. I'm bird of praise and all my educational animals that are glove trained and handable. Those were all put in craze and they were put into administration. My eagles and all that were actually put in craze and put into the gallery. Now we have a brand new build in our learning center, which is a fortress. Costing $1.6 million and me to withstand major hurricanes. It actually looks like wood, but it's actually concrete so it has a good seal to it. Now we're gonna be able to put all our animals into one location and we're all gonna feel very secure. Let's hope it won't be needed soon, but when it is, he'll look to the forecast and animals to get things started. A lot of times I pay attention to the ibis and if all the ibis take off and they're gone, that means the hurricane is gonna hit you. And then after the hurricane comes through, they're one of the first birds to come back to the area. Hurricane recovery starts and residents will be returned to their habitats among the Everglades in Flamingo Garden. Night from Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin sees a slumping economy that needs a large dose of Donald Trump tax cuts. I spoke with Mr. Mnuchin just a little while ago. Please take a listen. Alright, welcome back, joining us now a very dear friend, former Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin. Stephen, welcome, appreciate it. Great to be here with you. Reminds me of us eight years together, I know it's really something here we go again. So anyway, tonight of course, President Trump's going to speak, the whole world's going to be watching, I would imagine. What do you think he's going to say? What kind of things, what kind of tone? What do you expect? Well, I'm really looking forward to the speech and I think he's really going to talk about unifying the country and bringing the country back together and doing a lot more than he did in the first term. I mean, as you know, the Trump economy was a great economy. From a national security standpoint, the country was strong. And I think those are going to be the priorities we're going to see in the second term. He think he'll emphasize this theme, which he had been developing before the horrible assassination attempt that success is the best revenge and successful policies will unify the country in a way that Joe Biden's nastiness and welfare couldn't possibly. Well, first let me just say we're all so lucky that they missed him. I think he's going to talk a lot about what he wants to do. And you know this because we worked with him for a long period of time. The president is all about results. And we've got a lot done in the first term, and I think there's a lot more to do. You read the platform, the so-called 20 bullets, look pretty growthy to me. Well, I mean, I think the first priorities who extend the Trump tax cuts, you and I spent a lot of time making sure this was done and for various different reasons we couldn't get them permanent. So I think the top priority has to be around the tax cuts. I think the president has to focus on deregulation. We have an administration that has way overregulated the economy. Energy was a big focus for his in the first term. As you know, we were energy independent, and we need to get that back. And you know, I think he needs to focus on re-imposing sanctions on China and on Iran, especially to stop the money flowing to Iran. I mean, they were not selling any oil when we were in office. And it's something, you know, that's such an important point. Here's China buying all this Iranian oil that we should have stopped in the first place. China's buying Iranian oil, China's buying Russian oil, China's financing two wars against the United States, essentially. I remember sitting in the room with President Trump and President Xi and him making it very clear that if they did not follow our sanctions, what the repercussions would be, and they weren't buying Iran oil. So it's not a coincidence that we have all these issues in the mid-east today, because Iran is getting tens of billions of dollars that they can spend to create all different types of issues, whether it's attacking Israel or attacking other places. Stephen Mnuchin, former Treasury Secretary, you have a good batting record when it comes to the economic outlook. So I want to ask you what you're seeing in your crystal ball. What concerns you about the economy right now? Well, I definitely think we're going to see a slowdown in the economy. The Fed has to cut interest rates. They were just clearly too slow on raising interest rates. They underestimated inflation. And I was calling for years ago that we were going to have a lot of inflation. The Biden administration went on and just spent way too much money. I think the deficits are going to be a big issue. That's something that's going to need to be dealt with. And I think that's got to be part of the focus. But I do think we will see interest rates coming down in Trump's second term, and I think I'll like that. You know, I was reading just today some of the reports in the papers and the financial development, so the market is gearing up for Fed rate cuts, as you just suggested. Seems to me that if they're going to do it, all right, they ought to probably do it now or, you know, soon. If they do it in September, a few weeks before the election, it could look very political, compromise their independence. You haven't thought on that? You know, Larry, I think it's less about, you know, when they cut interest rates because it's just one cut. And that's not going to do much. The real question is, where is the Fed going to end up? I think we're going to end up with three and a half percent funds as the target rate. So we've got a lot to go between five and a quarter and three and a half, and the question will be, how quickly do they lower rates? But I think we've got to get back down to that level of interest rates. But you are worried about a slumping economy. I am. I see the economy slowing down. I mean, if you look at, obviously, tech and AI and data centers and chips is fueling the big part of the stock market right now. Welcome to the conventional. They don't start doing this stuff until they see me here, but you're doing very well, and I appreciate it very, very much. On the other issue, Joe Biden's still spending a lot of money, and he's running these huge deficits, the CBO baseline, as you probably saw, essentially two trillion dollar deficits as far as the I can see, even though the unemployment rate is historically low. I don't see how you can have big spending and borrowing on the fiscal side and then tighter money and inflation fighting on the monetary side. Well, Ari, as you know, kind of, you know, under COVID, we've successfully got spending, and we have to do that because there would have been a depression, not a recession. President Trump was very clear to me in saying, "We've got to save this economy if we're going to shut it down," and we did, and that worked really well, and we spent a couple of trillion dollars. It was really, really needed, and it saved the economy. Biden administration went on and continued to spend several trillions of dollars that never should have been spent, and that was the reason for inflation, and now we got very big budget deficits, and by the way, we do need to spend, you know, there is a lot of money we need to spend on military. The fence is still a very important issue. You know, there's things like Social Security. We've got to keep the Social Security Trust Fund funded. It's going to run out of money that needs to be fixed, but general government spending, there's just a lot of waste, and I know President Trump is going to focus on that. Yeah, he's been saying, I mean, talking to him, and it's in the platform, he wants to go after a lot of the wasteful spending, so I think it's high time we do that. Anyway, you're a prince to come by, Steve and Mnuchin, it's great to see you here back on the Cudlow Show. It's great to see you, period, it's been a while. Thank you ever so much. You're a great friend, and we're excited to be here tonight to see President Trump great stuff. Thank you so much. All right. Mnuchin was one heck of a good Treasury Secretary, if you ask me now, hold the phones. Let's go straight to Fox News, Jackie Heinrich with the latest on the Democrats calling for Joe Biden to step aside, my my Jackie Heinrich, what can you tell us about this one? Well, Larry, according to the president's doctor, it's all business as usual for the president, just in isolation with COVID. Before he canceled his Las Vegas remarks, though, yesterday, and abruptly redirected Air Force One back to DC, he taped an interview with BET and he sounded pretty sick. Democrats in the House and the Senate are telling Fox that this weekend, while he recovers, he's going to be forced to basically reflect on his candidacy and slow down a bit. And there is a sense among these people that Biden's absolute commitment to staying in the race is shifting. This comes after Democratic heavyweights Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Nancy Pelosi all reportedly told Biden in recent days that clinging to his candidacy is risking the House and Senate. Barack Obama reportedly also said the same to his allies, and none of these people denied those reports. The host of the president's favorite morning show also said on MSNBC that his inner circle is taking some heat for keeping the president in a bubble and not letting him know how dire the state of his race is. The Biden campaign's been telling reporters that they've got bad sources and that this is all hogwash. They maintain that they're not working a single scenario where Biden does not remain at the top of the ticket. But just this past hour, Congressman Jamie Raskin's office was facing questions about a letter that he sent to the president back on July 6th, comparing Biden to a baseball pitcher with a tired arm. We got that confirmed. And that means that that private push now becoming public means that the intended impact is not happening fast enough, Larry. Actually, Jack, it's kind of like a starting pitcher getting knocked out in the second inning, but I digress. Thanks for the report. We appreciate it. All right, joining me now to talk about many different things. Kellyanne Conway, former counselor to President Trump, and Trump is flaring Brooke Rollins, president and CEO of America First Policy Institute, former director of the Domestic Policy Council in the White House. Ladies, ladies, night out. Here we are. Nice to see you. Kellyanne Conway, before we get to the Joe Biden story, OK, OK, OK, OK, what is your expectation for Donald Trump's speech tonight, which I regard as far more important than all this Joe Biden stuff? It's far more important because we actually know who our nominee is going to be. Yes. He doesn't. There you go. Questions of electability. Question for him is how far will he go in the Electoral College? How much will he expand his map? How much of a blowout could be brewing? Having said that, President Trump is the first one to tell each of us and anybody who asks about whether to blow out brewing, put your head down, be humble, and just win this thing. He likes to focus on that first as a businessman in him. This is important because the president himself has made himself seen his presence felt here at the conventional week, Larry, after the failed assassination attempt, but we haven't heard that much from him. And this is our chance to hear him in full for the first lengthy time since that assassination attempt. I think his greatest hits will be in there comparing the Biden record with the Trump record. You have a binary choice where you're better off five years ago, running through just the difference in your life, affordability on security, safety, and fairness in the rest. He probably also will dip into this theme of unity. The other side is dividing. We're unifying. The other side is contracting. We're expanding. I think that's what's incredibly important, and then he's going to do the vision thing. I think Donald Trump's all about the future. The only piece of the past for him is to reflect on his actual presence as a recent past, and it gives us a springboard into the future. It'll be interesting, Brookie, to see how he reflects on this horrendous assassination attempt. But I know you've spoken, we've all spoken to him since the assassination, but you had a good conversation with him, and you know, it will be a policy-driven speech, I think. And I think it's his policy messaging is wildly popular among voters. That's right. I mean, I think that's one of the sort of invisible hands of this entire story. What you think of? Well, I think that's exactly right, Larry. And I think for the three of us, the policy makes us all so happy. 85% of Americans agree with the America First Agenda. 85% of Americans want a secure border. 85% of Americans want to be able to choose the school for their child. 85% of Americans want peace through strength. No more wars. I don't know who the 15% are. There are a lot more wars, but they are there, the crazies. So what I would say is this, that, you know, the whole idea that he's going to be a unifier, we're all coming together. That's 100% right. But I know that Kellyanne, I mean, the three of us had the greatest blessing of working with him. He was always a unifier in the way that he would go into the inner cities all around the country and work so hard to lift all of those Americans to a better life. He was always a unifier in fighting for America and our soldiers abroad and bringing them home. So tonight, I think the world sees what the three of us already know so well, that he is a unifier. We know what he has. We know his heart. There's no doubt it'll be a different speech tonight than it would have been before Saturday. But I think it's going to be one of the best, if not the best of his life. You know, on those points, people forget some may not know Donald Trump is a superb negotiator. Just like, by the way, my other boss, Ronald Reagan, 40 years ago, a superb negotiator bringing two sides together, whether it was domestic events, economic events for the Democratic Congress, or whether it's negotiating with the Chinese or the Japanese and so forth and so on. I mean, people, the guy knows how to get stuff done and I think America, yes, the art, and I think America wants to get some stuff done. Fox News poll on Sunday, Larry said that over 70% of America thinks this White House with Biden and Harris is not being transparent and honest to them. Now the reverse of that is having a president that presides over democratization of information. We always knew what President Trump thought of everything. Tweeting, yes, no one were transfixed, too open, too open, too open, TMI, TMI, TMI, TMI. They feel like they're being lied to everything from the concealment and cover up of the president's mental and emotional and physical state, all the way to what happened in Afghanistan, etc. But this is important because when you say Donald Trump needs to negotiate, that flies in the face of one of the dumber things said about Donald Trump as president, there are plenty, which is that he just wants a bunch of yes men and yes women around him. That's not true. He aborbs of sea queousness. As you know, we go in front of the resolute desk, we'd stake our claim. Sometimes you'd be of a single mind. Sometimes you disagree a little bit on the margins, but he'd love that, taken everybody's advice and then we knew there was one person's name who had been on that ballot, Donald J. Trump. And then he would ultimately make that decision, but not before he got a million inputs. That's true democracy and action. Contrast that to what we have now, where the people around Biden are keeping him cocooned and lying to us. Yeah. Brooke, just the last point, when will Joe Biden or whomever runs to have that ticket stop this nonsense, this incendiary nonsense that Donald Trump is somehow an existential threat to democracy? When will this stop? Well, I don't know if it will ever stop because honestly, they can't beat us on the policy. They can't beat us on the truth. They can't beat us on who's on our side, which is God and the American people. So the only thing they can do is lie. And the whole idea of existential threat to democracy, you know, maybe some people bought that a couple years ago, or people that weren't with us. But now the average American, the forgotten men and women of this country are waking up. So the only people that say that, and I don't even think they believe it themselves, are the elitists, the people you just listed. And I think we're going to have a whole wake up call on November 5th. And the Americans, yeah, take back their government. Fabulous. Ladies night at Fabulous Stuff, Brooke Rollins, Kellyanne Conway, it's a pleasure. Pleasure, pleasure, pleasure. Thank you, Larry. Hi, folks. Coming up. How long till Joe goes? So we'll ask Joe Kajah, when Kudlow returns. Terrific. [Music] Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street. I'll identify the policies that move markets so you can be prepared for the week ahead. Fridays in 7 on Fox Business. Parents are desperate for high quality options. One of those options like Vertex Partnership Academy in the Bronx is charter schools, which according to a new study outperform public schools. Students who are enrolled in charter schools get more learning in a year's time in both reading and mathematics than they would have gotten had they gone to their local district schools. For the last 15 years, Stanford University measured K-12 student achievement. In 2009, public schools outperformed charters. Four years later, they tied. But the latest study shows in both reading and math on standardized statewide tests, charter schools students outperformed those in nearby public schools. With 16 added days of learning and reading, six more in math. That translates to more than two extra weeks of school. Imagine having your child go to school two extra weeks every year, year in, year out. That accumulates. Charter school networks operating multiple schools did even better. With their students gaining 27 extra days in reading, 23 in math. Typically, charters are given more flexibility and freedom to create an incredible learning environment for their kids. The study also found gains are especially strong for black and Hispanic students who advance more than their public school peers by large margins. It wasn't because they were somehow getting a more advantaged group of kids. And we found the opposite is true. This nonpartisan report provides a strong argument for parents fighting for school choice as it concludes that charter schools provide the same or better education as public schools at a lower cost. In Los Angeles, William Legend S, Fox News. This may seem like a bad day for these big horn sheep, but they're going to a new home that is not only safe from predators, but a place where they'll be able to help prop up the big horn population in Utah. So we've got it's between 1,000 to 2,000 acre ranch with a high fence around the whole thing. And so we're going to turn them loose there. Yeah, they do. Hopefully we can get up to around 150 sheep in their total before we start moving them. Derek QO is a wildlife biologist with the Utah Division of Wildlife. He's among the dozens of people taking part in the operation. This year, 30 big horn sheep, four rams, 26 usan lands, are being processed for relocation. The operation begins with a capture using a helicopter and a net gun. They'll find location, they'll net gun them and their mugger jumps out and he hobbles them, secures them in the bag. The chopper then brings them back for processing where staff and volunteers examine the animals, take blood and other samples and look at their overall health. Utah will take those animals, a clean source herd, put them in an unhunted population and use those animals as sources for translocations within Utah. The big horn sheep at the valley of fire are the choice sheep because they appear to be free of a respiratory issue that plagues some of the other populations in southern Nevada, a disease that is easily spread from contact with infected sheep. The operation is a win-win for both Utah and Nevada according to war. It benefits us to sort of reduce that population in a natural way and it benefits Utah for them to have a good, clean source herd of healthy animals. The captured big horn sheep will be driven to Utah and will be released at the enclosed skyrider wilderness ranch once they get a clean bill of health which takes about 24 hours. This is the first time this operation is taking place but it's not the last. Utah wants more big horn sheep and Nevada is planning to come in. I think our goal is to do this at least two more years so we can get, you know, 30 next year and 30 the following year because our goal is. Less Griffin in Fox 5 News, local Las Vegas. All right, well it's Donald Trump's night but then again it looks like Joe Biden is about to go, Democrats pushing them off or so we hear, let's talk to Joe Concha, Fox News contributor who knows about such things. I mean it looks like practically every big wig in the party is putting a knife into Joe Biden's back. What are you hearing, Joe? Jamie Raskin obviously just released a letter. Just heard this. That he wrote on July 6th by the way and now all these days later just to add to the leaks that Joe Biden needs to go, Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi basically has said that but the Obama's, they're the biggest key here and even Barack Obama's saying that Biden should seriously considered dropping out which means Joe get out of the way. So he doesn't seem to have any allies at this point outside of Dr. Jill Biden and Hunter Biden right the two closest to him but you can't see where this goes from here and look it's been impossible to defend the president over the past couple of years mind you but lately this week I don't know if you saw that interview with BET. Oh I heard he couldn't even remember his black defense secretary. General Lloyd Austin. Yeah the commander in chief said I appointed the black man in other words couldn't even remember the name right and then we saw the way he couldn't even get into his SUV yesterday and I know he has COVID but it's not just a mental deterioration but the physical part as well how could he possibly be president for the next four and a half years when he shouldn't be president for the next four and a half weeks and I guess that's the question Larry. Does he not only say I'm not running anymore but does he resign from the presidency because obviously I don't understand the calculation he can still be president for the next hundred and fifty days but he can't be president for the next four and a half I mean well he could we could relinquish the nomination of his party and still remain as the commander in chief technically right I'm just saying a lot of people would become you'd have to invoke you could go have or go through the cabinet could go through the 25th amendment and he would have to step down as president and Kamala Harris would be president yeah move up I don't know I don't know a thing about it. There was a report that I saw that he Biden was actually saying that he was willing to listen to reasons why he should not he should step down correct that is that true Larry well I mean say anybody know what's true and what's not true that the reports are can anybody confirm a 100% no but he did say publicly that he would be open if somebody told him that he had a medical condition that didn't allow him to be president right then yes and if he were shown showing polling that says that he can't win which there is plenty of polling that does not show exactly so the two prerequisites that he has appears to be already in play I just see the Amerson Paul swing states Trump pulling away I just just one Paul but yeah I big numbers five six seven eight percent and all the swing states I'm so okay Joe Conch you've been around for a long time how do you read this who's going to take over Joe Biden spot Kamala Harris yeah just got to you cannot leapfrocker and then you cannot be the party that says we are here to save democracy and then install two candidates over the sitting vice president black voters have a big problem with that right you're on your hot streak got it who takes Kamala spot as the number two on the ticket Josh Shapiro Pennsylvania it's a key state he's fairly popular in that state but nobody votes for vice presidents so it doesn't matter the bottom line is Larry that this convention has been flawless in terms of energy message unbelievable unity imagine the bounce Trump's going to get when the polling comes out about a week from now reflecting him with 10 12 point leads in swing states impossible to overcome that I don't care who the VP pick is Joe Conch a great stuff great to see you visiting with us and you know what they stop the rock music while you're here first time it's happened I put in a request a Joe Conch everybody I'll be back with my last word there's renewed anticipation that the Federal Reserve could be cutting interest rates after retail sales came in flat for June retail sales for May were revised higher up three tenths of a percent excluding auto sales were up four tenths of a percent last month it's proving that somehow the consumers still has checks and they still have credit cards I don't think they have any cash but they're still spending number one for the year ending in June retail sales are up 2.3 percent there's another sign that demand for luxury goods is softening especially in China Hugo boss is lowering its forecast after sales declined one percent in the recent quarter both Burberry and Watchmaker swatch also are expressing concern luxury giant L.
