This is meteorologist Dan Brunoff in the KRLD Weather Center. We've got some seasonal weather through most of the weekend, but then turning sharply colder on Sunday and a cold week ahead after that. The $100,000 question is, will we see any wintery precipitation by the middle of next week? Stay tuned. My friends and followers again, it is a chilly start as readings have fallen into the thirties across all of North Texas. Wind is light and skies are clear. It will be a sunny and beautiful day today with highs near 60 degrees. We'll drop into the 40s overnight tonight, not as cold as this morning. More sunshine tomorrow. We'll warm temperatures back up into the low 60s. 56 is our average high, by the way. This time of the year, 36 is our average low. Alright, warm front comes through the area Saturday morning. I can't rule out a few scattered showers as it does so. We'll start off in the 40s and still reach 60s and not a big warm front, under a mostly cloudy sky during most of the day. Now, the strongest cold front of the early winter season arrives close to lunchtime on Sunday. I can't rule out a few scattered showers as the front comes through. Better rain chances will be in east Texas. We'll reach the low 60s by noon, but then rapidly fall through the 40s during the day as the north wind gusts to 35 miles per hour, putting wind chills well down into the 30s. Temperatures will continue to fall overnight into Monday morning down into the mid to upper 20s. A chilly week will follow, so most of you, you need to winterize your homes and vehicles. If you haven't done so, temperatures will struggle to hit 40 with sunshine on Monday, but clouds rapidly increase on Tuesday and especially Wednesday, with morning lows in the 20s, highs on Tuesday again will be near 40, increasing clouds on Wednesday, highs in the upper 30s. I do want to mention there will be some light snow flurries trying to move in from the northwest on Tuesday, but I think they'll evaporate before they reach north Texas. Our next weathermaker will be moving in from the west, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. It's still way too early to tell where the storm will track, how strong it will be, and how quickly it'll move across Texas. It's something I'll be keeping an eye out for the possibility of some wintery precipitation across parts of the state by then. I'll keep you posted as we get closer. Have a terrific day today and please enjoy the weather when you can. It's the only weather you've got.
