Closing arguments begin in Daniel Penny trial
The trial of a former Marine accused of choking a man to death on the subway in New York City will move to closing arguments today. Daniel Penny, 24, is charged with second-degree manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide in the May 2023 death of Jordan Neely, 30. Penny put Neely in a chokehold after Neely reportedly started yelling on the train and threatening passengers, though there is no evidence that he assaulted anyone.
