[MUSIC] Hit back with your critics to talk. I feel like I've been talking to myself again. But it's the only way you're ever gonna let you lock back and it's all in the past. I'm falling on the thoughts I cannot see. If I don't say the words that maybe it's not true, I feel so right. When they come and say to you, the only thing that makes us all believe, and I feel so right. When the world comes, let me raise your stance and make us pray. One time, it's coming over you, you wish it a heart is gone, you wish it a heart is high, you wish it a heart is high, you wish it a heart is high, you wish it a heart is high. I feel like I've been talking to myself again, I feel like I've been talking to myself again. I feel like I've been talking to myself again, I feel so right. When they come and say to you, the only thing that makes us all believe. Good evening, welcome along to And You Have Seen Matters. It's an impromptu live Q&A, which I think most of you seem to enjoy. So you know how it works, if you've got any questions for me, a lot of people say we'll get a bit annoyed because whenever you hear what your opinion is, Steve, well here's your chance, get your questions in and I will do my best to answer them. I'll keep one eye on the game which is live at the moment, Brentford have gone one little but Arsenal have just pulled it back to 1-1, half an hour gone in the Premier League clash but Brentford won Arsenal won and a Happy New Year to everybody in the chat and everybody who is catching up live later on and a big congratulations to Chris Dooby this afternoon Rids not as fortunate came up against M.B.G in the darts and he was just unplayable at timed high score in game that second quarter final but Chris Dooby, big tune fan from Bellington has done very, very well, he's through to the semi-finals and yeah on to Luke Little at tonight, looking forward to seeing that if you're into the darts, cover just started seven o'clock tonight so you'll be able to catch up on this podcast finishes. Okay, where are we going to go tonight, it's up to you, you ask the questions, I give some answers, you know, most things I talk about, if I've got a question which I don't want to answer, I'll tell you, I don't want to answer it so over to you, you're in control of the show as usual, Stephen Kennedy says Happy New Year, Steve, to you and your family and to our NUFC Manus family but he does ask a question after that, he says Steve does it annoy you as much as it does, maybe the too many ex-pros who are pundits can't seem to give us any credit, is it the Saudi connection, history or jealousy? Good question, Stephen because, you know, it does seem that, you know, all of the pundits at times have a rather negative slant against Newcastle United and it does make you wonder whether it is the Saudi connection, whether that is the reason that, you know, we don't get a fair crack of the whip but honestly I just think it's the selection of the people really, it's very rare and I mean, it's very rare that, you know, I watch a game live, I'm usually at the game home or away but when I do get the opportunity to sit and watch, there seems to be a complete lack of Newcastle players who are on the panels, I think that's probably the main problem, you know. More and more we've seen Shay give and come in there with no less Ferdinand's been on, Steve how he was quite popular in days gone by, you know, and used quite a lot by Skye. But nine times at the temporary games, we seem to have ex Sunderland players who've got a connection with Sunderland and that always seems a bit bizarre for me or we are the first game on a Sunday which means that the second game really takes priority because it's what they will class a bigger fixture, a bigger game so the people in the studio tend to be people in the world going to be representing the second game so I get it, I know we can all feel a little bit, you know, the world is against this kind of thing but maybe it's just a little bit of a conspiracy theory but no, I get where you're coming from, I've mentioned it many many times on the show though, I think that Newcastle, United are, you know, the make go clickbait really and that's the problem and you'll find any commentary that worthy sold, if you can, will mention a sound bite about Newcastle on a radio or TV programme and you can guarantee that that person will get a bit of publicity and the show will get a bit of publicity and that's it, just simple as that, it's, I don't think it's, you know, I don't think that the commentator is a regained Newcastle, put it that way so I hope that answers your question Stephen, do I have any action jobs in the future? I'm working behind the screen at the minute Darren, I haven't made a feature film, the one thing I've never done was make a short film, so what I've done is, my new year's resolution last year was to write the poem a day, which I achieved, I'm pleased to say, I started it actually on the 16th of December 2023 and I'm still doing it now so, you know, I'm heading towards 400 poems, you know, one a day, but one of the poems I wrote was called The Box and I'm making a short film about it, in fact it's busy now, we're busy editing it and we're going to enter it in probably about 25 worldwide film festivals, so that is the main focus at this moment in telling Darren, acting jobs don't come along every day, they don't come along every week, they don't come along every month and sometimes if you're really unfortunate they don't come along every year, and that is the downside of being an actor, Darren, you can literally sit on your backside and do absolutely sweet effort, it's very rare that you have somebody who is working 24/7, it does happen, you'll see TV programmes on BBC and on ITV and all these other networks that we've got and you'll see familiar faces and that's because every actor at some point in time, if they're hardworking and lucky and you need a bit of luck, gets that opportunity, they'll get that part which catapults me into other things and you'll find that an actor has a really good year or a really good couple of years, there's very few actors who have lifelong careers, but I'll classify myself as quite lucky, you know, I've said now, the parts I've had, I'm over the moon, you know, bearing the mind I started, when I was a kid I was an actor from the age of seven until I was 17, but then I walked away from the profession that I loved and didn't go back into it until I was in the mid 30s and that's 17 years, 17 years from walking away, so I classified myself very lucky that A.I. managed to get back on that level, I went back, I studied, I went into the GCSE and he said he's went into the degree in the 30s, but I classified myself as a very lucky person, a very lucky actor and I've achieved lots of things that I wanted to achieve, so I enjoy all sides, I'm writing at the moment, I'm busy writing a play, I think I spoke about it on the last Q and A, act one is complete, act two, it'll be a lot easier, act one's been quite difficult because of the topic which I'm not going to go into, but act two should be a lot easier because I know exactly what I'm going to write and what I'm going to do for that, so I think that'll be finished in January and then it'll be a case of getting trusted people to read it and then going from there, any alterations I think might be needed, it'll be done and then it'll get placed, I've got somewhere where it'll be on, you will see it at some point, so those are the main focuses at the moment, but no acting jobs on TV or film at the moment, probably had about seven or eight castings last year, wasn't successful in any of them and that's just the business, if your face doesn't fit, you've got to be thankful that you're getting the castings because clearly your CV and your look is something that a cast and director is looking for, there's one thing from last year which I'm still on hold for and that's because they are still trying to get this thing placed, the comedy series is based in the north east and I potentially could have a part in that if it comes off, but it tips and butts at the moment and we'll wait and see, but yeah, New Year, New Hope, New Castings and who knows my face might fit was something new and we'll wait and see, the main thing is I'm not sitting waiting because I'm always busy, I'm always doing something and that's the main thing, that's the main focus, if you're a creative, you have to keep creating, you have to keep being creative, this podcast is creative, this podcast is you know me being me I guess and creating content and that's what it's all about and I will continue to do that on this particular platform for the time being and like I said, in the past you know, if I ever feel that it's dying of death or you know that I'm not getting a satisfaction or people aren't interested any more than that's when it would come to an end, but you know at the moment it's making too many people happy, I'm quite happy that the people who are doing the show are quite happy and that's why we are still covering New Castle, it would be ludicrous to stop it now because people are thoroughly enjoying it and that's great and we've built a really good community and the community of any UFC matters is fantastic you know not just you guys in the chat of people watching but just you know when we had our end of season event in the summer and then our Christmas event last week it was it was great, great to see so many people and people coming up and sharing their stories and people seeing, they've been listening to the show since we started in 2020 and oh dear we're in over 50 year, you know coming into our 50 year already it's crazy isn't it, where the time's gone, happy new year to anybody who's just joined us anyway, Mark Baez has got a question he says if you had a pet parrot, what would be the first thing you'd teach it to say, pieces of air to Mark, pieces of air to because that's what they say isn't it, pieces of height, pieces of height, probably want a cracker, top bobby, good evening, hi Steve, happy new year, do you think we'll sign anyone in January? My mindset bobby has been new, I don't think we'll will, but it depends on availability of players, we are linked with 86 players on Barry's list at the moment, I'm sure it's probably gone up by one or two more in the last 24 hours since Barry sent the list, but for me I think Eddie's happy with what he's got at the moment, he's clearly going to need a new striker, Callum Wilson, we can't go on like this and Laura Vabra just says he's actually going to get injured again at some point, so he's not going to put his trust in a suler, I would say that a forward is something that they'll be prioritising, will it be this window it depends if his anybody becomes available, and that's down to Mitchell, Mitchell's list, Eddie's list, it looks as if a game we're signing youngsters and Newcastle again linked with another young 17-year-old Santa forward from the Scottish Leeds, today, will we sign anybody? My gut says no, but, but if the right player comes along at the right place, Newcastle will move in the January transfer window, I really, really do expect them to be busy in the summer, I really do, for a variety of reasons, but the main one being that there's lots of players who are going to be out of contract and who will be moving on, and you would imagine that there'll be players who go out in this window, I think we've already discussed it over the last couple of days on the last couple of shows, you know, but you know, MIGGY is heavily linked with a move, LaSells is being linked with a move, of course, he's nearly fit, you know, people linked in long staff with a move below, I think that, you know, I think that will know. When you need meal time inspiration, it's worth shopping King Supers for thousands of appetizing ingredients that inspire countless mouth-watering meals, and no matter what tasty choice you make, you'll enjoy our everyday low prices, plus extra ways to save, like digital coupons worth over $600 each week, and up to $1 off per gallon at the pump with points, so you can get big flavors and big savings, King Supers, fresh for everyone, fuel restrictions apply. I still think you'd like to keep long stuff, I don't think there'll be a massive change because the dynamics in the dress room are clearly right, new castle at this moment in time are flying high, he's not going to want to jeopardize that, is he? He's not going to jeopardize it by taking somebody out of that dress room who might not be getting the game, but he's making a big contribution behind the scenes, and likewise he's not going to want to bring somebody in who's going to upset the apple cart, and he's also going to be thinking, you know, I wouldn't be surprised if he's slightly paranoid about another injury crisis happening, although touch would, you know, we've cooped quite well so far, but yeah, it's an interesting window, Bobbie, it is interesting, January is when you're often a bad month, not just for Newcastle United, but also for, you know, for every other team, so it will be interesting to see, and it just takes one big transfer, of course, to change things, Trent Alexander-Arnold heavily linked with a move at this moment in time, looks as if Liverpool's resolve is going to be tested as ours was with here in Trippia in previous windows, so if that happens, do they come looking for another full back, you know, they come looking for a player, you know, did they try to test Newcastle's resolve with a bid for Lewis Hall or Tino LeBromando, you know, it's, I think Newcastle will continue to build around the players that they've got, I think there will be a point where we have to sell what we would classify a big name player, but I don't think it will be these two windows, but in the future who knows, you know, we may have to do what Arsenal did, not Arsenal, sorry, Tottenham when they sold Harry Kay, you know, West Ham when they sold Declan Rice to Arsenal, there may be a time when Newcastle has to do that because of PSR, but I don't expect to say that in January or in the summer. Dave, good evening, he says the disrespect in the media is unreal, if you listen to the media we don't have a chance of keeping all of his acts. I get where everyone's coming from on this, I mean, look at the, you know, look at the win against Manchester United, couldn't find anybody giving Newcastle a praise, it was all about how poor Manchester United were. So let's face it, you know, there is, the way that people report things is different to maybe the way that people talk about, you know, talk about Newcastle in the media, but crazy, really. Mark says what, one thing either in football or in as a whole, do you hope is obsolete in 10 years time? All right, okay, that's a good question. Um, obsolete. I mean, I'm not a fan of the amount of substitutions we've got, Mark. I think these substitutions are crazy now, you know, it's really ridiculous how many substitutions, I wouldn't say I go back to one, but I did much prefer it when it was just three subs. Ah, I wish they would just get VAR right as well. You know, VAR has taken so much time. It's taken too much time. I'd love, I'd love to see VAR removed and just go back to on field decisions. Keep the, keep the basic, you know, keep the basics like the, you know, the goal line technology we've seen it already in the Brentford Arsenal game of the day, keep that, but they are an essay can be perfected. I think needs to be removed because I think it's spoilt the game as a, as a spectator sport. Um, what other thing in football? I'll come back to that, Mark. I've given you a sort of answer, but I'll come back to you if there's anything else I can think of. Les says, I'm sorry that the Saudi connection doesn't wash when most of the pundits appear the Saudi money out or, or a big support as if, you know, the snooker or the boxing or whatever else has gone out there. Ian, question for Steve. What did you think of Karagale at now? I think he had 150 million. He would buy him. I thought he was a bit disrespectful saying that. I agree with you, Ian. I certainly think it was disrespectful. But again, he's doing his job and he's getting clickbait. And Jamie Karagale was, you know, all over the papers and all over the media because he asked that question, which, you know, many other journalists probably would have loved the opportunity to ask. Um, disrespectful I just think it was cheeky. Um, you know, but he's I could say if coming, you know, that kind of stuff's going to come. You know, it's Lee Marshall's job is how to pay our immediate and make sure that Alexander Isaac is briefed on that kind of question coming in. And Karagale just did what Karagale has to do, I guess. Um, I'd love to know what he was going to do within the feed board. I'm like, what donate him to Liverpool? I was he intended to have him just knocking around the house. I've found it a strange way to put the question down. Um, there you go. Any plans for 2025, Steve says, uh, Jules, you've made a point of going to more live gigs right before my date. Anything with 2025, or happy to see where I like to take you. Jules, thanks for everything you've done. It was lovely to say you and Dave. Um, hope your journey home was a bit easier than your journey up to the North East. I'm not one for making resolutions as such. It's more life, more life changes in doing stuff different. I didn't have much time to read last year. I am going to make a point of sitting down, um, and trying to read each day and also to listen to an album a day which I've not listened to in its entirety. I may have listened to a song or whatever, but I've not listened to the album. So today I listened to Bob Dylan's first album, just simply entitled Bob Dylan. Really good version of, um, House of the Rising Sun on there actually, but, uh, that's quite easy to do because I go out quite a bit. Now, you know, I'm out at least once a day, but even if I'm not, I could easily put it on the house a bit with bad weather and I didn't go out. Um, so an album a day, and I'll post which album it is and what I'm listening to. So yeah, Bob Dylan by Bob Dylan, which I think was 1962. Um, the last song was really good. Do me a favor, clean, um, clean my headstone for me was, was quite a really enjoyed that song, quite a Macabre song about soldiers getting killed in the war. Um, and just saying if he dies, can you clean me, clean me headstone? But it was, uh, yes, I enjoyed it. Good album. Um, Bob Dylan at the best before he went electric, a crew stick and harmonica, uh, really did enjoy that. So that's it really. I am going to continue to write the poem. I think there's going to be a bit more combs of the poetry. I've got a few ideas about that. Um, continuing to do gigs already got tickets for Bruce Springsteen again, um, this year and E.L.O. Gonna go and see E.L.O. Um, uh, got a few of those in mind, a few other things in mind. So yeah, carry on seeing gigs. Uh, I want to get to the theater more as well. Didn't do the theater a great deal last year. Um, but yeah, maybe, maybe get, you know, get, get a few more theaters. Although I did manage to go and see Wicked, the musical last year, which is the first, but another tick in the box, another musical scene, which, uh, which was good. Me and the family went to see that box is what movie character do you relate to most and why? Good question. God, you're chucked in a couple of deep mouth, a deep one, isn't it? I'm not narcissistic Mark. So it's not really a question. Is it a question I can answer? It's not really, um, movie character that I relate to. I guess probably it's a one that's throughout you guys. You know, is there somebody that I relate to? Difficult one, not Mark. I'm going to highlight it and come back to it. But there's nobody who I seem to think. There's nobody that I can really think of. So no, it's a difficult one, a difficult one. Half time in the game, Brentford, one Arsenal one. Stephen Candie says they all seem too scared to have someone like Joel and on who tells it as it is. There should be a program that caters for honest opinion. Yes, Stephen, that's not a bad idea. And, and I mean, Joe speaks from the heart, doesn't he? You really, really just speak from the heart. Um, you know, Joe has, you know, had an incredible turn around in, in his life in the last 12 months. And he's gone from strength to strength. I'm sure those of you who saw him at the Christmas do would be able to be testament to that. But, um, yeah, Joe is a straight talker and probably somebody who despite the fact that he's, you know, very good at saying what he says probably wouldn't be as welcome done to show us maybe as some of their people are. But, um, great on our show. It's great to have him on the podcast. But yeah, it may be a right, Stephen. He says how big a test is it to replay a shot and Bruno away at Arsenal? Some incredible choices and formations need attention. Happy New Year, Keith. Um, I hope you and your lad are fit and well, Woody. Uh, pass on me best to him. He was in touch just before Christmas. It's difficult, isn't it? It's incredibly difficult. But the key to having a, a manager like Eddie Howie is that somebody, somebody who can not just concentrate on that first 11, but also concentrate on those players who are in reserve and make sure that those players, when and if called upon, can come in and do the job that those players who are out through injury or suspension, make sure that they can come in and take their place and play accordingly. And that's, you know, Rocky, that our point, our point one game lead cup last year. Manchester United away. Injury crisis was at its peak. Newcastle start with Matt Target and Centimetre Field. He and all the Vermento and Lewis Hollis fullbacks Paul Dumbett sent a half. Um, it doesn't get any more grim going into a game like that. We won three nil against Manchester United. Um, and they weren't as bad as they were the other day. Um, yes, it's a big test case, but as long as Eddie Howie's been doing his job, whoever comes in to fill those places and fill those gaps, I've got confidence in Eddie Howie managing to get a result at Arsenal. And Arsenal aren't looking as good as they did with soccer in the team. And that's a positive for us, a massive positive for us. Um, we've got another game to go before we get to that. We've got to go to Spurs. And if we can get a result of the Spurs, Keith, if we can win at Spurs, then we're going in as the form team. It's going to be interesting. It really is going to be interesting. But I think the answer is it's not a big test because I think Eddie will have the boys ready to go. Um, where else do we go? A quick break as well. What's the one thing in the past? What's the one thing you've done in the past that you'd never do again? True crime, Mark, true crime. Um, basically because I think with the true crime stuff I did, I got two embroiled in the stuff that I was doing. And that can be, that can be dangerous. And I think as well, Mark, from my perspective, I never thought about the victims of crime and the stuff that I did. Let's talk about the craze. The craze were people who I met and visited and then eventually wrote books on and did documentaries on or contributed documentaries about. But in the grand scheme of things, the craze were murderers. The murdered people. They murdered George Cornell in a pub. And the murdered Jack the hearted a party. Obviously we know as well that Frank the Mad Axman Mitchell was another, you know, another victim of the craze. Um, although they weren't the ones responsible for his demise. So three people. Now, because it was historical and because it was something in the past, Mark, and because there'd already been lots of books written, I thought there was all right to talk about it. And I never condoned it. You can watch any interview that I did, you know, about the craze. And I'll always say, I don't condone what they did. And I didn't. But does that mean that the families of George Cornell, Jack the heart or Frank Mitchell, you know, feeling feel any better when Steve Wraith Stanan doing an interview talking about the craze life of crime. And took me a long time to think of in that way, how would I feel if if that was me? How would I feel if I was the victim of crime and somebody was constantly making documentaries, writing books or commenting newspapers about my family. And my family's images were constantly in the newspapers. And I couldn't do anything about it. How would I feel? So my mindset has changed on that. And despite the fact that I've written books and I've done documentaries and made money from it, I wouldn't do it again. If I could go back, I wouldn't do it. And I think the difference between me and the other people who were involved in that particular life and that particular covering that particular genre is that it was never planned by me. I didn't get involved with the craze to make money. I had a fascination. I was interested in obsession. Like lots of us do about lots of things. And I picked up a book, passed me exam at school on it. And then I walked inside the book, walked through it and met all the characters and then walked out to the other side with a story to tell. So simple as that really. But yeah, I think I would, you know, if I look at that, I would probably change that mark. And that might seem strange because yeah, it has made money. And, you know, I have made money from it. But yeah, I think I would change that 100%, no doubt about it. Halfway through the show, I will get back through your comments now. And we will, yeah. This is the live Q&A with myself Steve Ruth and if you're a regular viewer of the podcast you will know that every now and then we do one of these and people seem to enjoy them because I don't get much chance to talk. I tend to facilitate the podcast and have a chat with the contributors but yeah it's for me personally you know a good opportunity as well to have a little chat with you guys. Mark Byersdavask is a questioner of the year. What movie character do you relate to most and why? Rather than picking a particular movie character I'm gonna say anybody who is I guess the underdog. I do tend to champion the underdog mark so I was named after Steve McQueen who Donald was just mentioned in the chat. Meemam gave us the name Stephen because of Steve McQueen being a favorite actor and he's one of my favorite actors I've got to be perfectly honest so why not why not go for Steve McQueen and escape the victory that gives you an answer. I don't like to leave people hanging. Jules says could you summarize in simple terms for me in YouTube terms how do views and likes affect the channel in terms of income. It's very very difficult Jules to give you an answer on how it affects income because income really is only generated by you know how many how many dewish people give the videos. To build a YouTube channel up and to do it successfully takes time you can't suddenly get 500 viewers watching you know weekend you know adding themselves each week it just doesn't work like that but short videos tend to increase people's interest because people don't have time to watch an hour. I went with a mindset of doing an hour long each time because of COVID and I've stuck to it um likes and shares do help short videos help I try to do as many of them as possible but putting a thumb up hitting the thumb up underneath the video and clicking share here with us through some media helps us build the channel but the hitting the thumb up helps the certainly helps the algorithm comment under the video once we've stopped going live that helps grow it as well because it shows people that interact with a channel so it's as simple as that so as long as you hit the thumb up when you watch a video you're contributing to it that doesn't affect the finances it just helps the algorithm shows that the channel is interacting with with its fans and with the people who watch and that they're interacting with them and that brings more views to the channel which increases the revenue but in the grand scheme of things you know that it really so I hope that made it a bit more sense. Craig, a question for Steve currently Arsenal have Sakuro to in reality they're looking for three players across the front line and the midfield and Newcastle need a right wing a right centre back and a keeper who wins a major on a first major on as a Premier League tight low the FEA Cup isn't it um when I took Newcastle at finish third and win the FEA Cup this year but now I've got a chance to win in the car about Cup if it's a toss-up between Newcastle and Arsenal it's down to look really great I genuinely think um the biased head says Newcastle the realistic head because Arsenal have been there done it and got the t-shirt it says Arsenal so I'm gonna have to say Arsenal would probably win in short term in the long term I do see Newcastle being regular competitive as for all competitions but um a lot depends if you're saying that the league cup is a major competition and Newcastle beat Arsenal have got a really good chance haven't you would imagine we'll end up with Liverpool and then the two turns up on the day and we've already shown there's nothing to be frightened of with Liverpool after that 3-3 draw so yeah interesting question but it is a difficult one Mark the questions get better would you rather have hands for feet or feet for hands I'd rather have hands for feet nears why I can walk on my hands Stephen Kennedy says I've been looking for any box sets today that have a binge today and tomorrow choose black say I chose black sales but close between that and deadwood what do you'll go to box set sopranos Stephen of course I haven't watched black sales by the way sopranos prison break prison breaks excellent um one of me thought this is just a binge watch that whole thing um recent binge watch has been squid game two uh squid game one was excellent squid game two is good monkey monkey magic um another one of my favorites anything dubs it like that is you know and with martial arts involved I love comedic only foods and horses and got to say Alfred Hitchcock presents and what else banda brothers excellent as well I could go on and on and on but yeah this if I had to pick one of those it does it island disc and I could only take one box set I'd take the sopranos Stephen hands down any truth at the reds are being rebranded as the rodents says jeff good to see you at the uh christmas do jeff good to see you're looking well made uh pleasure to have you back in the chat as well let's good evening do you prefer american or british films in general I prefer the gritten honesty of british films as opposed to the over produced american ones yeah british for me um you know low budget british films are really special um i've made one myself i know the effort that it takes to make one and to get the distribution deal um you know that'll be something that i'll always be remembered for um in in the sense that you know i you know i wrote i wrote a film produced it starred in it and you know got the distribution dealing got it out there um but i i do like the gritten honesty of british films some great classics as well um you know the fact that we've had 28 days late a director come and make his latest film up here which is coming out with with a local actor who starred in my film uh playing one of the lead roles is is really spot on so yeah i love it british films are great um i love going back i mean obviously the gangster genre is something i really enjoyed but you know the long good friday excellent um you know the the show many good ones love honor and obey that ray bird is did in the 90s which gave jude loy's big break um you know there's there's so many special ones um that that i can think of and you know kess you know not getting away from the gangster genre you know was was special as well get Carter of course made in in the north east but yeah i do prefer british um hi steve thanks for all the shows in 2024 with the last series of v-rest start tonight or we do expect to see you back on our screens big peter unfortunately was a one-off um i still get me repeat phase jakeup and my agent did a really good deal for me on that so uh i i i just get blown away with the fact that you know we see you know viro is washing in so many different countries and it's such a special show i've never watched it never ever watch it i could never get into it and you know brand i was lovely loved working with that but um wasn't it was a bit too slow for me typical sunday drama and i just i could never get into it with jakeup sadly maybe it's one of those i'll end up watching in the future but uh i just i could never get into it and sundaes were always a bad day for me who plays right center back in the absence of shot it's going to be like kelly isn't it a hundred percent um yeah he did experiment with bern in the closing stages the man new game does that mean he's going to bring in somebody else possibly it'll be interesting to see what he does it will be interesting to see what he does but spurs have got bigger problems than us believe you believe you me uh good even see how many new year would you rest two to three players against this we're fully fit for arsenal semi final i play the same team part from shop play the same team apart from shop and i don't think i'd be up for resting players unless somebody is injured joe will it go be a chin to play against uh arsenal as well so you know i wouldn't i wouldn't bring in players i'd keep i'd keep will at hungry for that arsenal game how does he handle he's like if we lose him with rubber dogs so steven he's just got to play him and he's actually not kind of former he's going to want to play not going to want to get dropped by spurs is he with that record on the horizon seven and seven and he's going to want to continue that um that run a form so yeah i don't think uh i don't think he'll handle him any other way than play him if he gets injured he'll deal with it then darren hope you're well he says uh steve i told you about your castle benfield losing their manager after 15 years at the club uh did you ever meet the former chairman jimmy roe who sadly isn't with us anymore i did meet jimmy um and i knew i knew i knew he's son jason i used to go to the people's theater with jason many many years ago i met uh his brother mark um many times as well because he used to work on the doors when i did um but yeah i did i didn't know jimmy as i was like a close friend um but really it was me connection with jason roe the actor at the time who uh you know who i got on quite well with so have a quick drink but yeah jimmy was all right i did i did go to his funeral uh excuse me quick drink kurt johnson do you have any long term goals or an end goal for the nucman's pod thanks again for the time you win the lads give us all the best for 2025 long term goals no you know what none of these shows are planned kurt um i haven't planned a show um other than those other than those shows where we say right give us your worst 11 or your best 11 the lads then have to go and plan the shows as in pick the team and then send it to me that's the closest we've ever come to planning a podcast um literally as soon as i hit the go live button um whatever's in the news i'll drop it on people so there's obviously me and the amigos and the professionals weren't we're in WhatsApp groups together so we're talking all the time but i run i run the show and i'll just i'll just drop something on the lads you know i'll just say what about this and that's it and off we'll go arsenal gone to one up um and it's marino ex new castle player um so yeah there isn't any long term goals or plans really we're nice to just continue building the subscription as we do you know the subscribers come and go some people drop out some people come but you know we've made gradual progression i think we've made 12 1200 new subs this year i think it was that we showed when we did the the review of the year so um yeah just to continue doing what we're doing doing it well and and hoping that people enjoy it you know and the long term goal is out of my hands i'd like i'd like to be able to do this podcast and certainly until new castle wins something um be lovely to be able to sit here and do we're sure to see a new castle united our caribou cup winners or f a cup winners or premier league winners it'll be fantastic um so yeah that's probably the long term goal and thank you for your support Kurt lovely to see you in the chat as well as nice to see nice to see people who are chipping in now who we don't often see don't know happy new year to you do you think younger fans understand the concept of football going inside of the case and point our opponents from under nowhere near the Manchester United teams of the past it's interesting that Donald isn't it yeah i maybe he's not younger fans or the fans certainly do but younger fans don't and i think you know it's something that they've got to get used to um you know real Madrid will eventually will eventually you know fall and there'll be the there'll be the next biggest team in the world they'll come along and it's that happens yeah teams do go and say but no is the answer i don't think younger fans understand that mark no need to apologize um how about which current i would you like to have played i think i've answered this before um it's it's a great question because the so many parts you'd love to the so many parts you'd love to play um bill sites in all of a twist um you know because i've played the dodger uh on stage um i also played monks in a different adaptation which is all about twists brother i'd love to play bill sites and i'm probably just at the right age now to play uh bill sites and be able to show bull's eye that would be good mark i'd love to do that um so that's that's probably the answer uh Barry i've been here at the U2 if we buy a right winger he's better than Murphy couldn't happen we know how very slowly bring them in we are doing okay we are doing okay um yeah of course that's that's the idea how we he doesn't just chuck people in at the deep end he takes his time but um a right winger better than Murphy no chance Steve did it not unsetly the way Isaac didn't celebrate his goal against Manchester United i'd have to watch it back John it didn't stand out so for me definitely not uh Steve this should make a remake of Barry uh with you playing Barry the hitman who wants to give up being an actor you would be great in that part playing it straight with a comedic mayhem going on around you thank you i've a look at that Steve and i haven't looked at that um Barry's written a murder mystery play a new beauty in the beast apparently of Steve a few fancy being in them but i'm always happy to read them Barry always happy to read them um if you if you have writing stuff like that mate um you should get it there's like a pasty and a pint night three want a while so a pasty and a pint afternoon sorry that the day would have feared that i know anything that you want testing or reading out uh could be worth your going for that you know i understand why you're coming from Steve i enjoy crime and thriller movie series uh yeah if it was based on real life i don't really consider the victims yeah and i think that's just something that you don't really think isn't it um i think we're all fascinated with the dark side of the human side Steve crime criminal they wouldn't write books and make films if people were yeah that's that's true as well mate but you know i think it just comes to you know it just for me it's just something which i think about now uh it's only human nature to be curious about topically villains except you're in a good place with a podcast in the poetry as well as anyway i've seen books and events thank you've done all kind of lightning strike twice asks like 28 years ago we were 13 points clear and now 13 points behind pool can and all broke our hearts in st James's we go to the pool at the end if i be worried tell you what that's a that's a great prediction isn't it um lightning can't strike twice you never never know i still think anywhere i've seen that this pando will be amazing for next year oh no i don't um you never know me you never know um let me see uh where we ask because i've fallen slightly behind with the questions about 50 50 away here all done bad get back here we are um just kind of play a catch up well there we go unlike the string twice that was the last one don't know this is a great escape to victory is the football one yeah that's right escaped the victory um Les says i've seen some channels go up astronomically it doesn't ring true yes i've seen that as well uh to be perfectly honest uh paint plastics and figures says the more likes you get the more video gets dropped into other viewers recommendations that the video meets the video searches uh that they are looking for um mark says my dad wanted to name me umor after umorster reef so imagine how disappointed that the named after me me after scared under a pair of what the point mark dmio you made me laugh me uh barry says that i have mark is a middle name mark always wanted to change it round all right uh funny how many i'd always seem to put up with mediocrity until we beat them then they're all left hand seem to lose the plot yeah there was a few who lost the plot um as well i just listening to an album a day what a brilliant idea it's got to be an album you've never listened to like so honestly i mean i'm i've got apple music on my phone so it's easy for me to just to plug in and and to do that but i am definitely going to do it um 100 percent um have a look for monkey theme song uh like those two are nuts i've seen it yeah we'll put it on in the gym uh before christmas um we saw a live version as well we also did a live version at um the guy who played pigsy and monkey's wedding i watched that google that you'll be able to say it's absolutely hilarious Donald's favorite blip uh brick flicks get caught at and purely belt there davey says if you haven't seen us play about the first 30 minutes again uh versus Manchester night the other day i haven't although that's first game uh six one game was special i think that's probably the best half an hour um against Manchester United in recent times probably since the five millimeters definitely um and don't forget of course the uh what was it uh six six goals against bloody spurs that one which i well that maybe is after one you're talking about where were were four and a look after 20 minutes or something that was a game i actually missed um i was coming back from London i answered that question about films earlier on love honor and obey was great mostly improvised as well and because of that the current has had the same name as the actress who played them yeah mark and my mate ray birdist directed that ray has got a couple of big projects in the pipeline as well which hopefully i am going to be involved in but won't be next year don't think it's probably really year after but we don't know scums a good film mark yep uh really really is um Vera is one of the few tv shows i watch mainly for the locations yeah it's one of those frustrating things where they're doing a chase the whole and um somebody somebody goes around the corner and they end up in a different area i would look to a senior star and spend i quite like spencer uh spender uh Barry um yeah that was good some great actors and that a lot of the actors who i got got to know as i got into acting as well uh i reckon Mitch would play the drunk dad out of Rita Sewan bob too really well i knew he would have watched that mark um usually takes his four hours to watch a two-hour show constantly poisoned against the location question cunt and you would be of location especially sippy sand AR duels that's hilarious isn't it that's what everybody does watching anything in the northeast FFP and PSR aside who would be your three elite signings to complete this current top and UFC side um oh it's weird because you're giving me positions where i may not think we need to strengthen we definitely need another goal scorer um we definitely need another goal keeper for me um because DeBravka won't last forever and i don't think Nick Pope's the answer um i would like to see having watched a bit of him now mama dash valley would would be a great shout for me for goalkeeper i really do think he could be the keeper that would change things for us um in in a positive way um we definitely definitely definitely going to need another cent a half um we've got to hope the botman comes back just as well as you know as as he was when he played um and we definitely need another forward send out the center of is is fascinating because you botman's young i still think we'd need somebody with a bit of experience you know um i'd love to see in your castle go for a forward a forward thing in player maybe your Gibbs weight or in a longer the center the center of is is going to be difficult you're going to need to prize somebody away i think from from one of the other clubs in the Premier League or find somebody on the continent so i couldn't put a name to that uh player but a longer Gibbs weight and mama dash valley for me uh yeah Nick let's do a problem mate um 1983 what you're going for a less Pringle feeler night tachini and tachini lacost kappa or adidas i've always been adidas mate um most of the largest to wear kappa and i loved lacost um here's these at tachini man um i did like a bit of feeler and i did like a bit of Pringle when i was in the early teens uh but adidas made a hundred percent and and uh and lacost rather than playing left footer right center back we'll be not playing tino and trips on the right side and depends depends what's happening with trip era as far as he's injury as well you know um Steve do you think Mitchell have a return to new castle one day um permanently no i don't think so i think i think he'd be mad as well he's got it he's got a really nice nice out there if anyone in the chat or people they might know not watching this would like to appear on advance for i'm getting to just see good to get new faces on alongside regulars yeah there's always it there's always avenue to open Martin will be back in the new year um you know Martin's had a few ups and downs in his life and i know Richie occasionally has talked about coming back it would be nice to have Richie back on the platform and you went off to do uh another lecture um but it's currently not doing anything now so yeah but anybody wants to come on always happy to welcome new people um Steve great to meet you a couple of times in 2024 hope we do again 25 year content chat this has brought me so much pressure thank you David thanks mate and thanks for your uh thanks for everything as well that you've put across to us um you know Stephen Kennedy and you and Jimmy Wilson and you know others have been great and sending this tweet to the weekend stuff so thanks for playing your part Steve playing Steve McQueen and Papillon will be challenging if there was a remake yes i think so um another cracking film um oh mr. title of that so yeah Papillon is a good one um let's see what Stephen Kennedy says all the lads are really up for it at the moment they're too up that last until May then will be close close close yeah i'd agree um paint plastics and figures i'm back on board getting back to me old ways back in a sensible job sensible hours so back on board a few shows a week funko Freddy is back welcome back um great to great have you back on the chat as well last couple of questions uh or comments goalie sent a half right winger and being really a more game ready just great uh Gary says fantastic film the subject man is pretty tough nil by mouth art great we're real Winston Cathy Berg directed by Gary Oldman yeah real Winston anything we're real Winston is is really really good you'll have to try and get down to our neck of the woods this year Steve be good to have a catch up that doesn't involve five hour drives definitely jewels um you know i know you're down Birmingham way i mean i did do wolves again this year but yeah we'll definitely have to do that i'll have to keep you in the loop as to where we're going on our troubles and hopefully that will be uh that will be good you know Mark says he'd love that they were fans for him but one 10 different means i'm almost to work and second i'd probably get the channel cancelled yeah i was gonna say that um to be honest before i read it Martin it would be great this year Martin's never really gone away he's just you know been sending them the link but unfortunately for him he just hasn't been available and and you know life has to come first before youtube and i made my youtube debut on his first channel this week we'll give us a shout quick give us a shout shout on social media um you know always be good if you wanted to jump on uh the fans for him on a Monday um there is a vacancy of course Benny has departed again so if anybody wants to jump on um we find oh yes jules i forgot you didn't uh include wolves sorry uh no Martin Paul personally for 30 years he had a rough time for 2025 it's on the upram yes 100 percent get a watch of a flick a flick uh called in the zone of interest unbelievable war flick from the Nazi family said i watched i i tend to watch more documentaries phone go than i do anything else and i've got a boatload to watch and yeah i'm busy watching the Christopher Reeve one but tonight will be dominated by world's strongest man i'm afraid i've got to watch the final and hate to save me pal uh Luke Stoltman wins um and but yeah i do like war stuff i'm busy reading a book at the moment called become the commandant of Auschwitz after watching the documentary about them um ended up managing to get a struggle to get the book but it's the second hand version of it um i've inherited this macabre interest in the second world war from me mama you know i'm and probably watching the world at war when i was about 11 or 12 probably had a big thing on us as well a big influence on us as well yes i've spoken to mally um he he's he's saying two good crosses was was the difference between the two teams of course he's winding everybody up on x uh talk of the turf he is on x mark if you're on there you can entertain yourself by reading some of the things that he's put um no problem i do enjoy doing these jules as you know and if i've got time um then you know i'll always do them jeff capes was brilliant i used to work from craig craig security uh it um uh capes security it's fantastic good thinking on the spot shop is attack all the best mule soon thank you davie um as always i've tried to answer all the questions i don't like what i don't watch many films now i leave the green screens alone yeah it's one of them isn't it mate it is one of them i i tend to watch documentaries i learn a lot more from documentaries in film but yeah squid game that's been me later this thing loved that mason sure is always the pupil in the chat class as well thank you berry and marx is having you here everyone i'll try my best to keep my risky comments to a minimum this year and that's his new
