The T20 World Cup kicked off on Sunday, with two Group B fixtures; Oman vs Papau New Guinea and Bangladesh vs Scotland. We are joined by Scouting Cricket's Ronan Alexander to understand how Scotland upstaged Bangladesh causing the first upset of the tournament on the very first day and we reflect on an impressive 10 wicket opening victory for Oman over Papau New Guinea.
Scotland and Oman both played with positive intent, getting Scotland out of jail when they were 53-6 whilst Oman's net run rate was boosted rather nicely. Papau New Guinea looked starstruck and it was an unfortunately silly run out that saw a promising middle order stand crumble. Bangladesh let complacency creep into their game and their lack of firepower with the bat saw them flail.
