[MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Can't you drop it baby, buy a bottle of blues and everybody got a supper. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Welcome to Nothing But the Blues with me, Cliff. That was the fabulous Derek Trucks band with Get What You Deserve, Getting Us Off. And the live album, double album, in fact, Road Songs, that I was given for Christmas. And there's another one of my Christmas presents coming up in the show, but this isn't it. This is Omar Kent Dykes and Jimmy Voll. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Hey, Bobby, Joe, what's wrong, man? Oh, man, it's my baby. What'd she do this time? You know what she did? No, tell me. She called me on the telephone. Said we were through. I asked her why. I don't love you. My baby don't love me. And I know just what to do. [MUSIC] Go tell the boss him to listen real close to you. [MUSIC] Give me three, a shot to whisk it. And a bottle of wine, a woman like that. It's damn sure how to find, I'm gonna drink, I'm gonna drink. That woman out of my mind. [MUSIC] Yeah, a woman like that is damn sure how to find. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] You know I dated other women. Yeah, I'll have my share. They treated me nice. But I don't really care if I can't have my baby. Then I know just what to do. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Now if you see that woman, please tell her I'm fine. I don't need no woman. I keep drinking my wine. Said I don't need no woman. Cuz I know just what to do. [MUSIC] I said a woman like that is damn sure how to find. [MUSIC] That's a band called Retro Deluxe. And the track is a woman like that. It's from the new album, Watermelon Tea. She came out in October last year. And before that, Omar Kent Dykes and Jimmy Vaughan with Hoshash. It's from the 2007 album on the Jimmy Reid Highway. Well, back to 1955 now, I think. This is Arthur Gunter. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Oh, well, you are done, me wrong. [MUSIC] Well, I don't know what to do. Because my baby won't be true. [MUSIC] Said that little woman knows she won't treat me right. First all day long and tried to fight all night. I said, you are done, me wrong. [MUSIC] Well, I don't know what to do. Because my baby won't be true. [MUSIC] She leave at midnight and says she won't be gone long. [MUSIC] Next time I see you don't be about the break of dawn, I say. [MUSIC] You are done, me wrong. [MUSIC] Well, I don't know what to do. Because my baby won't be true. [MUSIC] Taking my baby do I give everything you need? Come to find what will you back up in the street? I don't care why you go, baby don't care what you do. Don't stop messing around, I'm going to. They don't you, I say. [MUSIC] You are done, me wrong. [MUSIC] Well, I don't know what to do. Because my baby won't be true. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] I'm a country born I sure do like this town. [MUSIC] I'm a country born I sure do like this town. [MUSIC] Well, I'm a fool and I don't plan to be docked around. [MUSIC] I won't hold you when you come and get around. [MUSIC] Well, I'll do when you come and get around. [MUSIC] Be going to play somewhere and have a real country break down. [MUSIC] I'm here. [MUSIC] All right, now I'll tell you when. [MUSIC] Get ready. [MUSIC] Now let's break down. [MUSIC] It's a pass back. [MUSIC] I really feel good. [MUSIC] But now I'll tell you when. [MUSIC] Now let's break 'em down. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Good back, good back. I think I've been docked on. [MUSIC] Good back, good back. I think I've been docked on. [MUSIC] I had enough to say that I think I've got my thought. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Strange ending. That was Pee Wee Hughes and Country Boy. Pee Wee on vocal and harmonica, unknown guitar and drums recorded in New Orleans in 1949. And before that Arthur Gunther with you are doing me wrong. Arthur on vocal and guitar, Skippy Brooks on piano. Al Gunther on guitar. Somebody called Wallace on bass and Kid King on drums recorded in Nashville in 1955. Well I said there was another one of my Christmas presents coming up and this is it. This is Robert Randall from The Family Band. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Wonderful. Jimmy Rushing, Mr. 555. She's mind she's yours. You'll find that on the 2009 compilation, the very best of Jimmy Rushing, with 41 great tracks, and it's available from the iTunes Store. But I'm actually playing it from a scratchy-hold vinyl EP that I've had for about 20 years. And before that, Grand Marquis was ain't no good to me. The album, Hold on to me, came out at the end of November last year, and they're representing the Topeka Blues Society of the 2011 International Blues Challenge. Right, let's have some muddy waters now. From my favorites of his albums, his very first one from 1994 lead me on. And I saw him live several years ago. It's absolutely amazing. You could hear a pin drop while he was playing. Wonderful stuff. Well, this has been nothing but the blues of me, Cliff. And the website is 3w's. . Nothing but the blues.co.uk where you'll find the playlist. You can email me, Cliff, and nothing but the blues.co.uk. The heartbreakers are a Manchester band that had to lay off recently because the guitarist was taken seriously ill. But they're back on the road now. And I'm looking forward to their new album. From the heartbreakers, this is Blood from a Stone. Thanks for listening. Hope you'll join me again next week for another hour of Nothing but the Blues.
