I was Johnny Winter with Dallas. It's from his 1969 debut album, "Johnny Winter", with Tommy Shannon on bass on the album, but not doing much on that track. Tommy, of course, later to become Stevie Ray Vaughan's bass player, and there'll be another connection to Stevie Ray later in the show. Well, this is the second vacation program, but there aren't many blues about places in Switzerland, going back to Zurich or Geneva on my mind. So this week's theme is American towns and cities. It's from a vinyl album I've had for many years. Our house blues and boogie woogie has probably recorded around 1949. And then we heard the wonderful speckled red with St. Louis Stump recorded in Aurora, Illinois in December 1938. World War II now, about New York.
