I've been unconscious, I've been unconscious I've been all kinds of things that are hard to spell I've been on ruling and speaking truly I've been so cool, I can hardly even stand myself I've been a monster without a sponsor I've been Dr. Jacko and Mr. Hyde I've been a goner, I've been a loner And when my mission was right, I was a nice bunch of guys I am what I am 'cause I ain't what I used to be It is what it is 'cause it ain't what it used to be I was a mover, I was a shaker You had a girlfriend, I tried a snake I've been mysterious, I've been delirious I've been so weird, it would've killed a normal man I wanted money, I wanted power I want a monument, kind of like the Eiffel Tower I've been lost to sea, I've been lost in space And when I've fallen left, I've fallen over the place I am what I am 'cause I ain't what I used to be 'Cause it is what it is, but it ain't what it used to be Now you can go down forever, make the same mistakes Stand up on your high legs and chain your bed Don't wanna do it 'til you find the seat What it is that it was like you don't wanna be, yes I am what I am 'cause I ain't what I used to be I was an outlaw, I wasn't getting lost I was a scapegoat, that was a last straw I hit the highway, swinging my way But it wound up sounding like you'll never walk alone I had a story, reflecting glory That's the way I've been seen for most of my life I heard the laughter up in the rafters But I never, ever thought the joke was on me I am what I am 'cause I ain't what I used to be It is what it is 'cause it ain't what it used to be Oh yeah, no more, no more It is what it is 'cause it ain't what it used to be No, no, no Yeah, yeah, yeah It's what I am 'cause it ain't what I am I am what I am but I ain't what I used to be I am true, Tommy Castro, it is what it is For him, he's a new old woman, hard believer I've only just bought this one because I liked what I heard else were And I'll be coming back to it Oh yeah, this is nothing but the blues at me cliff Let's keep it moving What you told me I was gonna have to walk the street line If I was gonna see you do that she was mine But every single step I take leads to another trip And she told me that you'd only give me one more chance on the night I was gonna take her out to dance Look like everything I had just fell apart When my car broke down, I reached into my pocket So I could raise a car to call my friend about it And it was all I got, but at that show I won't do The song's standing in the rain with my black against a wind There's a thumb and gunna highway I'm in trouble again But I'm doing everything I can to find my way to you Then it's just my look to be so unlucky kind of just my fate That I was late She wanted me to pick her up at seven and it's way past eight And it's just my chance I took so many chances And say no, be romance 'cause she'll never understand it You will never think I can to find my way to you Oh, baby, here I come Well, I finally got a ride and I'm rolling down the highway And it looked like that time things were finally going my way 'Cause a girl that picked me up was mine and she sure was cute She said, "Hey, where you going? Why being such a hurry?" Got some money in my pocket and there's no need no worry I'm looking for a real good time and it looks like you Then it's just my look to be so lucky kind of just my fate I was late, she wanted me to pick her up at seven and it's way past ten And it's just my chance I took so many chances And say no, be romance 'cause she'll never understand it You will never think I can to find my way to you I guess I'll never understand a woman and the things they do ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ I cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ Oh man, I just cannot figure it out ♪ ♪ I'm gonna try my doodle ♪ ♪ And it's better rainin' ♪ ♪ I'm gonna try my doodle with you ♪ ♪ Going to steer it ♪ ♪ See I stand open ♪ ♪ Oh I'm a good man in ya ♪ ♪ I'm a good man in ya ♪ ♪ Oh I'm a good man in ya ♪ ♪ I'm a good man in ya ♪ ♪ I'm gonna be a master's pitcher ♪ ♪ And I'm gonna be a master's pitcher ♪ ♪ And I'm gonna be a master's pitcher ♪ ♪ And I'm gonna be a master's pitcher ♪ ♪ And I'm gonna be a master's pitcher ♪ ♪ And I'm gonna do that to good enough ♪ ♪ I'm gonna hold my hand for a while ♪ ♪ Oh in my room, I bow down to pray ♪ ♪ Oh I'm in my room, I bow down to pray ♪ ♪ That if you come on in me, you're my favorite way ♪ ♪ Oh it ain't really done ♪ ♪ Don't just bury it deep ♪ ♪ Oh I really don't hear ♪ ♪ Don't just bury it deep ♪ ♪ But the women didn't win too well ♪ ♪ They wouldn't have been that deep for me ♪ ♪ Oh I wish I had me ♪ ♪ I have one on my own ♪ ♪ It's gonna work ♪ ♪ Yeah, I have one on my own ♪ ♪ Then I give all my women a long, long, happy home ♪ ♪ Yeah, I love my baby ♪ ♪ Get that girl in my mouth there ♪ ♪ Oh, just like I go from out there ♪ ♪ Well it's in your army, you are my own family ♪ Well the great son house with Preach in the Blues part one, recorded in Grafton, Wisconsin in May 1930 and there was so much service noise because Paramount used really inferior materials, so the 78s just didn't last.
