It's from his modestly titled 1970 album "I Am the Blues" which was remastered and reissued on CD. I suppose if anybody's got the right to say "I Am the Blues" it's probably Willie Dixon. His grandson now has a band, the Alex Dixon Band, this is him doing one of his granddad's songs. I recorded in Chicago in February 1941, with Lil Armstrong on piano. And before that, Bo Carter would last go around. Recorded in Atlanta in October 1931. Bo Carter wasn't his real name, in fact. He was actually our mentor, Chapman, one of the enormous Chapman family. Brothers Lonnie and Sam, I think there were 13 of them played music all in all. And he also recorded as a member of the Mississippi Sheik's, as I think Sam did as well. Well, back up to date now, I think. Well, "Ball House" means that you mix a whole lot of low-down blues together, and you just drag it so you can drag on it all night long, and then it gives you a feeling that you can't express to nobody. And the only man in the world used to play that when all the kid was called driving down. Nobody never didn't know his real name, but he used to play in New Orleans out of place to call Delphine. And he's one of the greatest ever-done-it, and I used to stand in the corner and watch him play it, and that's the way he used to get all of it. ♪ ♪ ♪ ♪ He used to tickle me with his singing. He wouldn't set you good singing, but he was a very good piano player. And that's the way he used to sing that back to his best friend. ♪ ♪ Well, I left my woman standing in the back to cry. ♪ ♪ Well, I left my woman lost standing in the back to cry. ♪ ♪ I said, "Don't cry, baby.
