From his 1975 album, Against the Grain, his take on a lead belly song, obviously. And went to see his grave stone in Ireland a couple of years ago. It's an amazing headstone. Everything else in the cemetery is sort of standard black marble. Rory's looks like rays of stone coming out of the ground. Stounding. People have left little tributes next to it. Little sort of plectrum scarves. All sorts of things. Nice to see. Sorry we lost him though. And before Rory led Billy himself within New Orleans, recorded in New York in February 1944. And obviously one of the variants on House of the Rising Sun. Well, the next guy is a tragic case. John Campbell was started playing music as a teenager and got sort of sidetracked into drag racing and had a horrendous accident nearly killed himself drag racing. And while he was recovering towards himself guitar and made a couple of albums and then had a heart attack, sadly. But from his howling mercy album, this is John Campbell and Ain't Afraid of Midnight. [MUSIC PLAYING] I taught the hell how to sit. Cheating, Satan playing cards. I taught the hell how to sit. Cheating, Satan playing cards. I pulled a knife for the devil when he danced my heart. Well, I teased Egyptian cool bricks after the new fight. Well, they lunged the hips, but they suffered things twice. One looking man. He recalls it fright. Rough and tumble stitches and scars. Whenever I rumble it's no holds, but I hate Afraid of Midnight. Well, I ain't Afraid of Midnight. I'll dance in that graveyard. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] I pulled stitches and scars. As I say from his 1993 album, Howling Mercy. He only had one other official album out called One Believer, but I've seen one mentioned on the web called Tyler Texas Session, but it doesn't seem to be available anywhere. Well, this has been Nothing But the Blues, The Meatcliff, and the website is www.nothingbuttheblues.co.uk, and there you'll find a playlist, links to interviews, links to artists, all the usual stuff, and you can email me, cliff@nothingbuttheblues.co.uk. Well, it's a very active blues scene in Australia, and it's an Australian band that I'm finishing with today. The band are called The Others, and it's from their independently released album that Devil Made Me Do It. The track is the best part of Midnight. Thanks for listening.
