And that was the Insomniacs getting us off with the Lumsum. It's from their album, at least I'm not with you, which came out last year. And it's one of the few tracks that they didn't write. In fact, it's a Memphis Slim number, so let's hear from the man himself. [music] Hello, information. Give me a rather vision. Next trainee. [music] I wonder what the matter. I can't get no one. [music] I really must have been black and cross my tree. [music] She won't write no to let her. The ground won't sit no worried. Nothing that I've done, but something the lady heard. Memphis Slim and McIntyre Murphy with black cat blues from their album together again one more time. I had to search for this album, actually. I eventually found it on the Antones label, and it's also got an Eddie Taylor album, still not ready for Eddie on the same CD. So you got two albums on the one CD, which is a bonus, I guess. Well, from Memphis Slim to Tar Hill Slim. Too much competition. [music] I know something on my baby, but I'm scared to tell her so. I know something on my baby, but I'm scared to tell her so. Too much competition with the guy that lived next to her. No man will pay $10 to get one shirt twice a night. No, no. One shirt twice a night. When he can take two to the line and get him done for 39. Yes, he can. [music] Too much competition. He can take two to the line and get him done for 39. I don't know why my baby want to ride. I don't know why my baby want to ride. She lives straight over everything at a time, crooked others make a night. She's little, she's low, she stand back for 39. Oh, yeah, stand back for 39. I expect competition going forward, she's really fine. Yes, she is. [music] Too much competition. I expect competition going forward, she's really fine. Let's go ride. [music] You love your woman, you better pin her to your side. Cause the first beat would get her like passes. She's gonna want to ride. Yes, she is. [music] Too much competition. The first beat would get her like passes. She's gonna want to ride. [music] So I healed Slim with too much competition. Recorded in New York in 1954. And most people know him for the song number nine train, but I thought I'd dig out something different. Well, every now and again Thomas Ruf puts together a blues caravan package tool. And the very first one he did was with Ainsley Lister, Ariel Newton, and Ian Parker. And from their 2006 album, Pilgrimage, this is Mississippi Lawn Mower Blues.
