(upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) I was walking down the street. I put a girl I chance to meet. She will look oh so sweet. Little angel from her head to her feet. I will look him back. See if she will look him back. See if I will look him back at her. I wish her a beautiful child. You got a beautiful smile. This pain will be like a rose. Love your fish, never stop. I will look him back. See if she will look him back. See if I will look him back at her. (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) (upbeat music) I will look him back. See if she will look him back. See if I will look him back at her. I was looking back. To see if she was looking back. Just see if I was looking back at her. (upbeat music) Oh don't you love a big ending. Pop which you will be looking back from his 1995 album, Booty and the Beast. Welcome to Nothing for the Blues and Me Cliff. I am going to play somebody who I have not played on the show before. I think I called Harry Manx. I am not sure if that is his real name. I know he was born in the island man. And people from the island man are known as Manxmen. The track is that knowing look of fate. (upbeat music) You said I am back tomorrow won't you. Well prepare to meet the light. Well I am poor man trying to save. Oh save his person. We took that car and drove as far as far as he could go. (upbeat music) Well he drove all night through the darkness and the rain. We kept it pedaled down. Oh no no. His hands were clashing pain. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Got so many battles. Just like every man. Tonight it was desperation that drove him cross the lane. (upbeat music) I turned around he saw a whole man death that knowing look of fate. He spoke so fun but gentle. He said man, man, oh man, oh man. I am glad that you were late. Oh no, I am glad that you were late. (upbeat music) Just before the sunrise he stopped to have a race. Well night wind blew a chill down from the mountains of the waves. Felt his strength give way. His tight legs would not stay. The shoulder took to trembling from the presence of a hey, hey, hey, hey. I turned around he saw a whole man death that knowing look of fate. He spoke so fun but gentle. He said man, man, oh man, oh man. I am glad that you were late. Oh no, I am glad that you were late. In fact with that knowing look of fate it's from his 2005 album I will get this wrong. West eats meat and meat is spelled M-E-A-T, not M-E-A-T. There is a lot of word play in his stuff. I think his latest album is called Bread and Butter. It is lovely stuff, Harry Banks. I think for me one of the best albums of 2005 was Doug Cox and Sam Hurry's Hungry Ghosts. From that album this is Carry Me Away. [Music] [Music] No doubt break but do not bend. Carry me away, carry me away. Spirit strong it has no win. Carry me away, carry me away. Spirit strong inside me. Spirit strong inside me, carry me away. [Music] Doug and I love stirs while she sleeps. Carry me away, carry me away. Sleep is long, her dreams are deep. Carry me away, carry me away. Spirit strong inside me. Spirit strong inside me. Carry me away, carry me away. [Music] With old times it try the heart. Carry me away, carry me away. Sleep but find no cause to chart. Carry me away, carry me away. Spirit strong inside me. Spirit strong inside me. Carry me away, carry me away. Lord she speaks to lift my soul. Carry me away, carry me away. Shaft of light and a deep dove hole. Carry me away, carry me away. Spirit strong inside me. Spirit strong inside me. Carry me away, carry me away. Carry me away, carry me away. Carry me away, carry me away. Carry me away, carry me away. [Music] I stood where I parked my old worn out car, taking it time but I don't. It's a long way to go, but the days pass so slow and the distance seems to know your own name. Seems to know your own name. And I know it's just where I'll leave me. You stepped into the road with your suitcase and told me one time 'til you'll see this place again. Hesh I'm so glad I could barely look her head up into the road where I'll be traveling, where I'll be traveling. And I know I just haven't the time to waste. I know I know I just haven't the time to waste. [Music] I know I just haven't the time to waste. I know I just haven't the time to waste. [Music] Well that's a local musician, Gren Bartley, with Carrie Her Safe. It's the title track of his latest album launch at the end of last year. And before that, Doug Cox and Sam Hurry with Carrie Meaway from the 2005 album, Hungry Ghosts. Well Sister Rosetta Tharps often associated with religious or spiritual music, but this is her doing something slightly different. This is Trouble in Mind recorded in 1943. [Music] Trouble in Mind are blue, but I won't be blue always, for the sun will shine. In my backyard someday, I'm going to leave my head on some low, the railroad line, and let that 2019 train. I'll see by my night. I could miss, no help with me, and I've almost lost my mind. Sometimes I feel like living. Sometimes I feel like dying. [Music] [Music] Well Donnie Mind, I'm so blue, but I won't be blue always, for the sun is going to shine. In my backyard someday. [Music] I'm going to talk about trouble and all my days. Trouble and all my days. I'll leave trouble, carry me to my green. [Music] It was a matter of me, something going on around here. Something going on around. When I wee last night, I still don't like long. When I talk about trouble, I've had all my days. I'll leave trouble, carry me to my green. [Music] Please don't put me down. Please leave it. I'll be glad you're the sweetest girl in town. We talk about trouble and all my days. Trouble and all my days. I'll leave trouble, carry me to my green. [Music] Sometimes. Boy, yes, sometimes. Yes, baby. [Music] I was walking down the street, so I just couldn't keep from crying. No, no, just couldn't keep from crying. The girl I love shows on my mind, where you talk about trouble and all my days. [Music] I'll leave trouble, carry me to my green. [Music] That's all right for you. Oh baby, that's all right for you. You know I love you, any way you do. [Music] But nobody loving care for me. Nobody. [Music] We talk about trouble and all my days. Trouble and all my days. [Music] [Music] This is the future on Earth, with Trouble and All My Days. Recorded live in Olin College, Ohio in 1965, sadly died the year after. And before that sister was at a stop with trouble in mind, recorded in August 1943. I'm going to go back to 1927 now. This is a guy called Sylvester Weaver. [Music] Had a dream while sleeping, found myself way down below. My Lord, I had a dream while sleeping, found myself way down below. Couldn't get to heaven, hell the place I had to go. Double had me conned up, stuck me with his old pitch boy. [Music] Double had me conned up, stuck me with his old pitch boy. [Music] And he put me in an oven, thought he had me but rose, before I came. [Music] Hell houndstored to chasing me, and I was a runnin' fool. [Music] Hell houndstored to chasing me, and I was a runnin' fool. [Music] My angels caught on fire, couldn't keep my puppies cool. A thousand devils with long tails and sharp eyes. My Lord, I saw a thousand devils with tails and sharp eyes. Everyone wondered, tried to step on my coin. For miles around me, I heard men scream and yell. My Lord, for miles around me, I heard men scream and yell. [Music] Couldn't see a woman, I said Lord ain't there now. Well, I don't have regular features, I'm nothin' but the blues. If I had a what popped up on my iPod this week feature, that would be it, Sylvester Weaver with Devil Blues, with Walter Beasley on second guitar, recorded in New York in November 1927. Couldn't see no woman, Lord ain't this hell. Great lyric. Well, Carrie Bell died in 2007, and the last album he made before that was a live one, but recorded in various locations. This is a track from that, this is Low Down Dirty Shame. [Music] [Music] Low Down Dirty, low Down Dirty, low Down Dirty, low Down Dirty, low Down Dirty, low Down Dirty, low Down Dirty Shame. Well, I know you don't love me, 'cause you're the boss, everybody. Go ahead on, do me any time you wanna do. Go ahead on, do me any time you wanna do. You don't have to wait for me, baby like you were used to do. [Music] [Music] [Music] That's alright, do it and then you wanna do. [Music] That's alright, do it and then you wanna do. [Music] I don't care what you do, baby I'm feeling good with you. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Yeah, Carrie and Lori Bell would low down Dirty Shame. From the album, "Getting Up Live", a buddy guy's, legends, roses and Lori's home. Recorded in those three locations, and that track was recorded at legends in October 2006. As I say, sadly, Carrie Bell died in 2007. Well, back in time again now, this is Walter, Buddy Boy Hawkins, and Snatches, and grab it.
