[MUSIC] You say you love me, babe, why do I feel that you don't? [MUSIC] Keep doing a sense, babe, that you tell me you won't. [MUSIC] Well, I've tried so hard, babe, believe on your lies. [MUSIC] Yes, I've tried so hard, babe, to believe on your lie. [MUSIC] I've checked out your stories, they don't match your alibi. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Well, you're breaking my heart, babe, with all the things that you do. [MUSIC] I don't understand that, baby, what's going on with you? But you say you love me, why do I feel that you're down? [MUSIC] Oh, you say you love me, why do I feel that you don't? [MUSIC] Keep doing those things down, tell me you won't. [MUSIC] Oh, baby, you say you love me, why do I feel that you're down? [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Welcome to Nothing but the Blues with me, Cliff. And that was Albert Cummings getting us off with her, Say You Love Me, from his 2006 album, Working Man. Well, I think in 2006, Roxie Perry got an award for her 2005 album back in Bluesville. I think it was voted the best self-produced album. And I know she's got a new album out now, but I'm going back to the back in Bluesville album. This is Whole Dog. [MUSIC] Some women are satisfied with anything they get. They give it all away just to live to regret. Well, I got the real deal, I make a man feel like a king. But I ain't gonna give it up 'til you give me everything. Everything under love and affection. I mean everything, gotta have your full attention. A man I could count on, a love that'll never fail. I need the whole dog. I won't be satisfied with just a piece of tail, no. [MUSIC] When I wake up in the morning, I need to see you there. When I feel a little blue, you gotta show me that you care. Well, I got the real deal, I make a feel like a king. But I ain't gonna give it up 'til you give me everything. Everything under love and affection. I mean everything, gotta have your full attention. A man I could count on, a love that'll never fail. I need the whole dog. I won't be satisfied with just a piece of tail, no. Not just a piece of tail. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] I gotta be your only woman, nothing less is gonna do. And for all you give me, I'm gonna give my best to you. I got the real deal, I make a feel like a king. But I just can't give it up 'til you give me everything. Everything under love and affection. I mean everything, gotta have your full attention. A man I could count on, a love that'll never fail. I need the whole dog. I won't be satisfied with just a piece of tail, no. I got the whole dog, baby. I could get a piece of tail anywhere, you know what I'm talking about. I need a love that's gonna last, and I need the whole dog. And I need it fast, you gotta give it up to me, baby. You gotta give it up, you gotta give it up to me, baby. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm talking about the whole dog. Oh, baby, you know what I need. You gotta give it up to me, baby. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. Terrific. Roxy Perry with whole dog from a 2005 album back in Bluesville. I feel like a bit of a classic Boogie Boogie now, so this is Wesley Wallace with number 29. Just playin' a chord for 29. Leavein' out a carol coming, you sayin', "Look." ♪♪ Thought you'd have to laugh, in fact. You know that whip. ♪♪ Keep going on, lookin' this way. ♪♪ ♪♪ I thought that playin' version for it. ♪♪ I'm going to get on it, boy or boy. ♪♪ I mean, it's Neil's run. Mead looks Lewis with Honky Tongue Train Blues. One of my all-time favorite boogie pieces. I've recorded first in Chicago in December 1927, but he recorded it several times after that. And I think if I could play like that, I'd be recording it every day. And before that, Wesley Wallace with number 29, one of only two tracks he ever recorded in Grafton, Wisconsin, in November 1929. Well, I got called Dave Allen email to remind me about the upcoming Ealing Blues Festival on Saturday the 25th of July at Walpole Park Ealing. If you're only going near West London, if you're in Ealing, Acton, Hayes, August Bridge, get along and support a local blues event. If you go, you'll get to see this guy. It's Chris Jagger, mixed younger brother, and there is a clear family resemblance. We saw him a few years ago, Chris Jagger and the libido blues. ♪♪ ♪ It's something my baby, I just don't get no sleep at all ♪ ♪ I used to jump up in the morning and I could barely crawl ♪ ♪ I went to my doctor, he held up in hands and said ♪ ♪ Too much love and can kill a man ♪ ♪ You said there ain't no good you coming on strong ♪ ♪ Now you're younger days, if you're long gone ♪ ♪ You won't have to take it as easy as you can ♪ ♪ Too much love and can kill a man ♪ ♪♪ ♪ She wakes me up in the middle of the night ♪ ♪ When the hours are calling the moon is bright ♪ ♪ She left in the morning, he didn't do ♪ ♪ Too much love and can kill a man ♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪ I left a little girl with all my heart ♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪ I wanna take it as easy as I can ♪ ♪ Too much love and can kill a man ♪ ♪♪ ♪ Now love and can be too much sweat and tone ♪ ♪♪ ♪ Guess I need a change of all ♪ ♪♪ ♪ But even if I'm in the home floor ♪ ♪ I don't listen to the music ♪ ♪♪ Chris Jagger appearing at the Ealing Blues Festival on Saturday the 25th of July. And before that, fabulous Earl Hooker with Sweet Angel. It was originally called Sweet Black Angel. And he actually sings that on the track, it's labeled as Sweet Angel. Recorded in Miami in April 1953. And I've just started reading a book about Earl Hooker, so I must dig some more of his stuff out. Well, the next band I first heard on an internet streaming radio station. And I thought it was fantastic and bought the album on iTunes on the basis of what I heard. It's a live album, so the tracks tend to stretch out. But I'm sure I'll be coming back to it.
