[THEME MUSIC] Look over yonder's wall, and came down my walk of pain. Look over yonder's wall, came down my walk of pain. Well, I know you don't love me, because I'm baby, look and call your man. Well, now your hood's been with the wall. I feel it was kind of tough, don't know how many, many kills. But I don't like to know, but you look over yonder's wall, came down my walk of pain. Well, I know you don't love me, because I'm baby, look and call your man. It's the only mission. Well, get him in. [LAUGHTER] [THEME MUSIC] [THEME MUSIC] [THEME MUSIC] [THEME MUSIC] I'm out of the time, it's cast on. [THEME MUSIC] [THEME MUSIC] Yeah! Welcome to Nothing but the Blues at Me Cliff, and that was Elvin Bishop, with Yondas Wall, from his latest film, The Blues Rolls on, which came out last year. But in fact, that track was recorded on the legendary Blues Cruise in October 2007. I'd love to go on one of those cruises. Fantastic. And that track featured Ronnie Baker Brooks and Tommy Castro. Terrific stuff. Well, this next track is from another new album, and I played a track a couple of weeks ago. The guys are L.R. Phoenix and Mr. Mohel, and the track is "Don't Go". ♪ Don't you go ♪ ♪ Don't you go ♪ ♪ ♪ Hello Phoenix and Mr. Mohill with Don't Go, from the New album, "Wrecked". Great album. Well, I think I'm going to have a bit of a Willy Dixon and Howling world sequence next. Let's start with the wolf himself. You said you was hurting, almost lost your mind, had the man you loved, he hurt you all the time, But when things are wrong, it's all wrong with you, It hurts me too, You love another woman, Yes, I love you, But you run up behind him and stick through him like a moon. But when fangirls are on, so wrong with you, it hurts me too. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Are you going to leave him? Are you going to put him down? Yes, I can't stand it, I'll see you're pushed around. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Are you going to leave him? Are you going to put him down? Yes, I can't stand woman, I'll see you're pushed around baby. [MUSIC] It's a terrific, Freddy King, with it hurts me too. It's a tamper red song, and unbelievably credited in the notes here to Steve Winwood. Can you believe that? I'd love to know who writes the notes and puts the credits on because I'm damn sure that Freddy King knew that Steve Winwood didn't write that. He recorded it in November 1972, and it was previously unreleased until the two CD set King of the Blues came out in 1995. It is a great set if you ignore the liner notes. Right, let's change the style bit. Something I don't think I've played for quite a while is a guy called Petey Wheat Straw, and he's usually thought of as a piano player, but he also played guitar. This is one of his tracks where he's playing guitar, Police Station Blues. People living under bridges, in confusion and despair, they're keeping house and cardboard boxes in the succed, zero night air, with no hope of employment. There ain't much left to lose, it's a major situation, giving me the minor blues. [MUSIC] On the corner stands the hooker with a hollow look and eyes, she'll turn the trick and score and fix and overdose and die. By the time the county's buried her, in a low rent pauper's grave, her little sister's out there on that corner sick with AIDS. You won't see it in the paper, 'cause it seldom makes the news, but it's a major situation, giving me the minor blues. [MUSIC] The minor blues is saddest with its own sorrow and pain, you'll know it when you hear it with its song or sad refrain. You say it ain't my problem, say there's nothing I can do, but this ain't some third-well country, it's right here with me and you lord, it's a gang land in the schoolyard, no place to play and run. Twelve-year-olds with crack pies, smoking ice and packing guns. You see 'em hanging around the dope house, getting high and skipping school, 'cause no one's at home to love 'em, teach 'em not to play the food. So the gang becomes the family, the only one they ever knew. It's a major situation, giving me the minor blues.
