And Tommy Castro there with a storm are getting us off. Take me off the road from his 2005 album, "Soul Shaker," brilliant stuff. Great to drive to pedal to the metal stuff. Well, I don't think I've ever played any Jimmy Buffet on any of my shows, but he's on this next track along with Dr. John. This is Sonny Landreth from his latest album "From the Reach." This is "Howling Moon." [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] Make you spark your hand right down this back. Make you drag your hands a real slow bill of time. Make you feel like you're on a spell or two. And wonder what you're coming over to you. The album's received mixed reviews, but I quite like it. If you're looking for the pyrotechnics of something like his Grand Street album, then this probably isn't the one for you. He wrote the tracks for the various guests, Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Robin Ford, Eric Johnson, Vince Gill and Nadira Shakur. So you can see it's a mix of stuff anyway, but I quite like the album. Sonny Landruth and the album is from The Reach. Well, sadly too for the obituary column this week. Guitarist and vocalist John Seifers died on March the 4th of Natural Causes. He was 79. He and harmonica player Phil Wiggins got together in 1984. So they were together for 25 years. This is a track by a 1999 album home mode. This is Mamie. [Music] Early one more, just by the break of day. [Music] Lord, it was early one more, by the break of day. [Music] Long come a dirty man, try to take my Mamie a stray. [Music] Kerbstone is my pillow, cold, she's in my bed. [Music] Cold, she's in my bed. [Music] I ain't got my little name for a home, my worry to get her. [Music] [Music] I woke up this morning, wet clothes, wet with tears. [Music] Lord, I woke up this morning, wet clothes, wet with tears. [Music] Give a thousand dollars, if I could find out where my Mamie is. [Music] Oh, Mamie, oh, Mamie, oh, Mamie, oh, Mamie. Oh, I wonder where, wonder where my Mamie is. [Music] Give a thousand dollars, if I could find out where my Mamie is. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I thought that I heard Mamie call my name, Lord, I thought I heard, I thought I heard Mamie call my name. [Music] She didn't call loud, call it home, so nice and clean. [Music] See for some Wiggins, John, see for us no longer with us, sadly. The other guy who died didn't record anything, but Ray Topping was the guy responsible for compiling many of the Ace Records reissues. He did a fantastic job with Ace, and sadly he died recently. So what I'm going to do is play a track from one of the many albums he compiled. This is the steel guitar flash album of Hot Wheels on his Buddies, and it's take two of my woman has a black cat bone. [Music] I do believe I won't got a black cat bone. [Music] I do believe I won't got a black cat bone. [Music] Well, everything I got to do seems like I do this wrong. [Music] Yes, I've tried so hard to get along with that woman of mine. [Music] Yes, I've tried so hard to get along with that woman of mine. [Music] Yes, but the more I try, won't she go around to the line? [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Yes, I walked from Dallas, walked to Wichita Falls. Got the thing that bounced on baby. [Music] [Music] I won't got a black cat bone. [Music] Well, everything I got to do feels like I do this wrong. [Music] Lovely. Hop Wilson and his Buddies with my woman has a black cat bone. Take two. If you listen to Tae Gorn, he actually gets the phrasing slightly wrong. It's a perfectly good Tae Gorn. But playing that to commemorate the life of Ray Topping of Ace Records. Right, somebody I don't think I've played for a while now. Picture Williams and JD Short. This is going back to Crawford, Mississippi. [Music] Yes, I walked up this morning. [Music] Mine run in five different ways. [Music] I'm going back to Crawford, Mississippi Falls. [Music] I'm going back to Crawford, Mississippi Falls. [Music] Well, I'll call you Ray Gorn backstage. [Music] I ain't gonna do the same good boy. [Music] I ain't gonna do the same good boy. People just drive me from the door to the door. Now I wake up there and I'm on a bus, and I don't have no place in it. Yeah, I never want to wake up. People drive me from the door to the door. [Music] Yeah, man, we'll get back to Crawford, Mississippi Falls. I ain't gonna be a bad boy in a number. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Well, I ain't got no place in it.
