It's the opening track from the stubborn mind album, very young band from Portland, Oregon I think. And they've been in the studio lately, so maybe there's something new coming soon from them. This is nothing but the blues, which features stuff from the earliest to the latest. But I'm going to stay fairly up to date for a few minutes. This is John Earl Walker band and Backdoor Romance. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] I was playing my guitar, standing in the spotlight. [MUSIC] Went a little long, come up to me. She said, hey Johnny, all you great tonight. [MUSIC] So I headed up to her place. I didn't put up a fight. [MUSIC] When we got inside her place. I said, hey, it looks like a man living here. [MUSIC] I took a look inside. I saw a man's boots underneath the chair. [MUSIC] She said, I just threw out my husband. I hope he don't show up here. [MUSIC] Well, we were just getting comfortable. We was laying down on the floor. [MUSIC] That's when I hurt somebody pounding, pounding on the door. [MUSIC] Whoa, better get out of here. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] She said, that must be my husband. You better get in the back and high. [MUSIC] She said, that must be my husband. You better get in the back and high. [MUSIC] Before I knew what was going on. That man had come inside. [MUSIC] Whoa, better get out of here. John Earl Walker and backdoor romance from his new album come over here. It's actually his sixth CD, but I only really picked up on him on the last one people are talking. This is another CD now that took me quite a few years to come across. This is a guy called Meld Melton and the Wicked Mojo's, and this is backdoor Cajun Mann. [MUSIC] Well, I went down to Louisiana before I was a man. I left my home in North Carolina to play and I got a good band. My mama called me up. She said, "Son, won't you come on home?" Said, "It's too late now mama. You know the by you got in my mama. I'm about your love. My mama, I'm about your Cajun Mann. [MUSIC] Well, I went down to buy you a test just to see what I could find. I met a little Cajun girl down there. She said, "Boy, you're going to pass a good time." She gave me some love like I never had before. She said, "I'm going to take you home but you're going in the by you got in my by you." [MUSIC] Yeah honey, you're my back your Cajun Mann. [MUSIC] That's why. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] Well, I got down to Morgan City and I didn't know where to go. It took me a job when I took both out and I go for Mexico. Captain, come around. He said, "Tell me one thing, son of a man." You don't look like an old Cajun boy where the hell do you come from. I got in my by door. Oh, I got mama back your Cajun Mann. Well, I'll ever be up on a Cajun then you're a natural Cajun Mann. And if you marry a Cajun girl then you're Cajun by her hand. Well, I went in the back door. They call it punk delivery, yeah.
