[INTRO MUSIC PLAYING] My baby come home last night, she looked at me real cool. He said, time you ain't nothing but a overgrown fool. I'm going to leave you behind. She didn't say that, did you? Yeah. I said, baby, let me tell you, a good, foolish, hard to find. You know, I saw her at the supermarket the other day, and I said, now, baby, if you leave time, it would hurt him to his soul. That's right. I just can't understand why a woman can be so cold, but a good fool, she's got a good fool's hard to find. You don't know that? Yeah. Take a lesson from me, baby. A good fool is hard to find. Man, you're a good friend. Whoo! I got mad. I'm not kind of mad at it. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] Hey Tommy, let me tell you something, I'll tell you what we're gonna do. We're gonna go home and get ourselves right. We're gonna go step out tonight and go down to downtown San Francisco. I know we're gonna find at least two or three or four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten women at our pool shopping this evening. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Hi, this is Nothing But the Blues is a neat cliff, and that was Tommy Castro getting us off to an absolutely storming start with a good fool is hard to find. It's not all the Collins number, but Tommy does a great version of it. It's from his painkiller album on Blind Pig last year, and Coco Montoya was helping him out there. You might have heard him say, "Hey Coco, help me out here," and that sort of thing. A great start to the show. As usual, it's gonna be a mix of old and new from the earliest blues to the latest, but nothing but the blues. And somebody who's been around for quite a while, but has a brand new album out, is Buddy Guy. He's got a brand new CD called Skin Deep, and from it, this is Best Damn Fool. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Buddy Guy fading into the distance there with Best Damn Fool from his new CD, Skin Deep. It's a great album. I'm gonna be coming back to it. He has some guests on there as well, including Eric Clapton, Derek Trucks, and Derek's wife, Susan Tedesky. So I'm gonna be definitely coming back to that album, Buddy Guy. Been around for ages, but still turning out great stuff. Right, well another album that came out earlier in the year was by The Managed Boys, and I'm gonna play a track from that now. This is Search in Blues. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] The Managed Boys there is Search in Blues from the lowdown feeling CD, which came out on Delta Groove earlier this year. And the name is obviously taken from the track Managed Boy, which most people assume, or most people associate, I think, with Muddy Waters, but it was actually written by this next guy. This is Bo Diddly. [Music] But you've been running with somebody else. I called you mama, about the year for life to go. I called you mama, about the year for life to go. Well, your mother says son, don't call my daughter no more. Before you give me, take a look at your son. Before you accuse me, take a look at your son. Well, now you stay up and running around, but you got somebody else. [Music] Come on back home baby, try my love one more time. Come on back home baby, try my love one more time. Well, now you've gone away so long. I'm gonna lose my mind. Before you accuse me, take a look at your son. Well, before you accuse me, take a look at your son. Well, now you stay up and find all the women's clothes. You've been taking money from somebody else. [Music] You can't judge Apple by looking at the tree. Can't judge honey, looking at the bee. Can't judge it all about looking at your mother. You can't judge Apple by looking at the tree. You've missed judge me. I look like a farmer, but I'm in love by. You can't judge Apple by looking at the tree. Now you can't judge it all. Looking at the cane. Can't judge a woman by looking at her mane. Can't judge a sister by looking at the brother. Can't judge people by looking at the cover. Can't you see? Oh, you missed judge me. I look like a farmer, but I'm in love by. You can't judge Apple by looking at the cover. [Music] You can't judge a bee by looking at the palm. Can't judge right by looking at the palm. Can't judge right by looking at the palm. Can't judge one by looking at the other. [Music] You can't judge Apple by looking at the cover. Can't you see? Oh, you missed judge me. I look like a farmer, but I'm in love by. You can't judge Apple by looking at the cover. [Music] You can't judge a book by a cover by its cover. You can't judge a book by the cover. From his 1986 album, "Dancing on the Edge" with Delta McLinton on vocals, who you might have recognized. And that song was written by Bo Diddley, of course, and before that was Bo Diddley himself with "Before You Accuse Me", recorded in 1957 with Willie Dixon on bass, sadly Bo passed away in June this year, age 79. And it's a great clip on YouTube of a band doing "Before You Accuse Me" and the guy starts off by saying, "A lot of people think Eric Clapton wrote this, and it's so funny." But it was, of course, Bo Diddley, who also wrote the Manish Boy track, but not the track by the Manish Boys, if you see what I mean. Well, I'm going to change the style completely now. One of the people I'm constantly playing, and nobody else seems to, is a guy called J.D. Short. This was recorded in St. Louis in July 1962, a few months before he died, and it's fighting for dear old Uncle Sam. ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪♪♪ ♪ You're behind the wheel and you're driving with one eye closed ♪ ♪ You're running up the curb and blowing all over the road ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ In review man, then share his screamin' blue and red ♪ ♪ Carried that seal ♪ ♪ Carried that seal ♪ ♪ It's skin on you ♪ Carry that sin, carry that sin from the skin of the youth. ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ ♪♪ I put the playlist up with links to everybody I've played today.
